You might remember that Groen; I actually met him as a younger puppy at a semi-recent show! He's gotten a lot more mature since.
I might have posted Tessa (Circlecity Tabloid Tease) when she was a puppy, too - I met her when she was a wee baby. She's enormous now by comparison!
Ty did beautifully this weekend. I'm pretty sure he finished - I'll have to double check. No love for Nochka but I think he's the prettiest boy. Wish I'd gotten a picture of the Borzoi puppy there today, my heart just melted!

[Image ID: Article from a newspaper reading: "how many dogs does it take to change a lightbulb?" In the middle, there's a black and white picture of a longhaired dog.
The article reads:
Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're worried about a stupid burned out bulb?
Border Collie: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.
Dachshund: You know I can't reach that stupid lamp!
Rottweiler: Make me.
Boxer: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.
Lab: Oh, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeze let me change the bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Can I? Pleeeeeeze, please, please, please!
German Shepherd: I'll change it as soon as I've led these people from the dark, check to make sure I haven't missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.
Jack Russel Terrier: I'll just pop it back in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture.
Old English Sheepdog: Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a lightbulb.
Cocker Spaniel: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.
Pointer: I see it, there it is, there it is, right there...
Greyhound: It isn't moving, who cares?
Australian Shepherd: First I'll put all the lightbulbs into a little circle...
Poodle: I'll just blow into the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.
The Cat's Answer: Dogs do not change lightbulbs. People change lightbulbs. So the real question is: How long will it be before I can expect some light, some dinner, and a message?

I didn't know corgi was a welsh word 😯🌟🐶 Can you tell more dog names in welsh?
It's a Welsh breed! Pair of breeds, actually - the little cute one from Pembrokeshire that looks like it belongs on a twee greetings card with a duckling on its head, and the big Carmarthenshire one that looks like it is straining every second of every day not to hunt down a cow and slaughter it. Funnily enough, America has gone feral for corgis, but here in Wales you don't often see pet ones. They don't have the temperament for pet life. I assume it's maybe a working-line Vs pet-line thing, but here their reputation is that they are snappy and aggressive if they aren't very, very carefully raised and handled.
The correct plural is corgwn, btw. Enjoy this knowledge.
Other Welsh breeds with Welsh names:
Llamgi Cymreig - the Welsh springer spaniel. 'Spaniel' is actually Sbaengi, meaning 'Spain dog', so cognate with the English, but llamgi is 'jumping/springing dog'.
Daeargi Cymreig - the Welsh terrier. Daeargi means 'earth dog', because of the traditional chasing things into setts and warrens thing. The Sealyham terrier is daeargi Sealyham, so same thing
And, Ci Defaid Cymreig - the Welsh sheepdog, pretty literal
And then non-Welsh breeds are varyingly named along similar lines. Sbaengi adara - the cocker spaniel (lit 'bird Spain dog'). Sbaengi hela - the English Springer (lit 'hunting Spain dog'). Sbaengi Siarl - the King Charles spaniel (lit 'Charles' Spain dog')
Ci defaid is generically used for collie or sheepdog.
Terriers there are many! I pulled these off of Bruce:
Black-&-tan terrier - daeargi melyn a du (yellow and black earth dog)
Happy 1st birthday to Joyousgarde's Little Winter Knight! Better known to his friends as Arthur.
My very special little boy. Maybe I went overboard on the new toys, but he loved unwrapping them!
I never thought I would "own" a dog with another person, but then my husband came along, and Arthur is very much OUR dog. Our little man. Our baby boy (dog).
Looking forward to all of our adventures with Arthur in 2024! We're planning to keep playing in agility, rally, and ratting. We're going to go camping and hiking. We're hoping he might get some points towards his conformation championship. And we're even planning to go to the English Cocker Spaniel national speciality!
Heyyyyy TS3 people. Anybody feel like confirming the dog/cat breed names for me because the wiki is uh. Questionable.
I typed out the list already I just need confirmation on how correct it is and if I'm missing anything.

⠀⠀⠀it was a beautiful english cocker spaniel with the softest golden coat. her name was bella, and bella lived like royalty. she was well fed, well cared for, and well loved. summer after summer, rowon would come home to see her and her owner playing in the front yard. they were inseparable.
⠀⠀⠀but then came an early winter. bella fell sick. his parents were good people; they brought food next door and offered sympathies through the darkest days. his brother, dear robin, took care of the rest. this went on and on and on - until one night, rowon woke to the sound of a familiar bark. his neighbor was headed into the woods with bella trotting slowly, but happily, alongside.
⠀⠀⠀rowon imagines this to be similar to what bella saw that night: a dense forest, a dirt path, and the occasional moonlight seeping through to illuminate their way up. it’s quiet. chilly. the air remains still. he trails behind, his eyes boring into seyoon’s back. in his left hand, he wields a plastic bag. in his right, he toys with a lighter.
⠀⠀⠀a twig snaps beneath his step.
⠀⠀⠀he reaches over all of a sudden, his fingers grazing down seyoon’s nape before dipping into collar of his coat. “.. your tag was sticking out.” he draws his hand away and takes the lead. it’s a bit of a climb, but this is the only place around the outskirts of seoul that feels like abbotsford. he’s been here once just to check it out. in the day time, there’s not much to see other than vast farmlands; but at night, away from the city lights, it’s the perfect spot for stargazing.
While I am most definitively against the force free movement's death before discomfort mantra, there are cases that necessitate behavioral euthanasia (BE) the most prominent of these being Canine Rage Syndrome (Rage).
Unlike most behavioral conditions seen in general practice, Canine Rage Syndrome is a genetic neurological disease, rather than a psychological disease, characterized by extreme, often deadly or disfiguring attacks against animals, objects, and people with no known trigger. The dog may go through a preictal phase, and during the outbursts the eyes typically take on a glazed look with dilated pupils, causing the eyes to occassionally appear red in color due to lighting. Dogs may lose control of their bladder bowel and salivary actions during the attack. The outbursts can last anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes, with most lasting 3-5 minutes.
It is most commonly seen in spaniel types, particularly the American Cocker Spaniel, and English Springer Spaniel, and Belgian Malinois but is also seen in Golden Retrievers, Lhasa Apsos, Bull Terriers, Poodles, and Laborador retrievers. Rage Syndrome has been reported in Puppies as young as 6 months, however it most commonly presents for the first time between 1 and 3 years old.
While it's status as a neurologic disorder is not disputed, it's classification as an epileptic or seizure disorder is still under debate in Veterinary circles, particularly in cases that do not respond to antiepileptics. Some dogs with Rage Syndrome may respond to antiepileptics, and management is similar to that of other dangerous dogs, 24/7 muzzling & secure containment, antiepileptics, tranquilizers/sedatives, and SSRIs. However, in cases where patients do not respond to pharmaceutical and management interventions, or when the dog has had an episode resulting in a level 3 or higher bite against either an owner or another animal, behavioral euthanasia is often the only option left. A thorough behavioral, neurological, and physical work up should be done on any suspected Rage case to rule out any other potential factors, and Rage Syndrome is most definitively diagnosed via functional MRI and/or Electroencephalogram (EEG).
Today, I assisted with the B.E. of a 3 year old recently neutered male laborador with a history of "outbursts" before he came to rescue. Once in foster care through the rescue, he attacked a 10 year old child without vocalization or prior warning with a glazed look on his face. The child was not interacting with the dog, he was laying on the floor watching TV, away from the dog's toys and crate. In the clinic he was lovely, sweet and friendly, with no signs of aggression, the volunteers who brought him in got him a Big Mac on his way in.
Such is the paradox of the rage dog. They are often highly sociable, loving, normal dogs until they enter an epileptic fit. Some owners refer to their dog's rage syndrome as a Jekyll and Hyde syndrome because of this. In Belgian Malinois, there is a genetic test for the Poly A22 and DAT-VNTR genes which have been linked to Rage in a recessive pattern but the disease is multifactoral so genetic testing is not 100% proof against it. Research into other at risk dog breeds and their genetic markers is still ongoing.
I'm curious (and I'm not sure if i asked this before) but what do you imagine the next gen kittens look like?
BESTIE TY FOR ASKING ABOUT MY BABIES
I have so many thoughts and details about how each of them look!!!!
Charon: light brown fur, grey patches, and a small patch around his eye, and he has Hestia’s blue eyes + the maine coon appearance!
Anthea: red/ginger fur with a patch of light brown on her front right paw (hence being nicknamed “Socks” by Charon) and a few grey streaks around her face, and she’s got the same heterocromia as Hestia, with brown and blue eyes (i’m literally so excited about this picture, it’s EXACTLY how i imagine Anthea looking!!!)
Tate: snowshoe cat
Ramona: an orange Scottish fold
Jax: okay so I’m toying with the idea of Jax being a gold English cocker spaniel, small enough to be the same size as the Jellicles, and because i think it’s cute that George finds this little abandoned puppy in an alley, and immediately takes them in as his own
Zephyr: Brown Abyssinian like Cassandra, with a few patches of white, and a small white like Alonzo’s over his mouth
Zelda: Brown and white calico with Victoria’s blue eyes!
Thalia: Pretty much identical to Victoria, except with a small patch of brown at the tip of her tail
