Apparently collagen chews are the magic solution to little boys chilling at barn hunt class between his turns. A class of 8 dogs with multiple reactive dogs is a tough environment, but he doesn't care if he's got his chew stick.

Arthur did so amazing in class today!!! He was really thoroughly searching the bales with no handler direction. My husband and I alternate who handles him, and he did so well for both of us, we just stood back and watched him. He was so clever, he would go to the last spot the rat was and really sniff and make sure it wasn't there, then move on. It was funny watching him sniffing sniffing sniffing and just happen to miss where the rat was, but then he'd catch the scent and freeze and go back. It's also so funny watching his tail, because you can tell as soon as he gets the scent because he goes from his usual happy constant wagging to turbo wagging. His indication behaviour is pawing at where the rat tube is, but usually we have to step in and reward him for the nose and then ask for some paw action. But today as soon as he found it he immediately pawed at it with no direction! Arthur is really getting good at this game. What a champ! So awesome that he worked at a distance with little direction AND pawed at it right away. He also never seems to give a false indication, he only indicates if he's sure the rat is there, rather than false indicating on the residual scent in the last place it was. If he keeps it up we'll be trialling in no time!

Going to build my parents a second dog out of their creature's clippings.

We borrowed Willow to take her and Arthur on a walk in a park together. It was lovely. They are so good together. It's weird to walk two dogs and neither of them is reactive or anything! Such good solid temperaments. Delightful little dogs. I ended up attaching both of them to my waist belt and they were perfect. I might just need my own second Cocker Spaniel one day.

Multiple people asked if they were Springer Spaniel puppies though. Springers are very popular, but English Cockers are rare in my area.

I think I'm having withdrawal symptoms from my meds. I haven't been able to get them for a few days. Now they're finally ready at the pharmacy and I can't go get them because I feel too bad. I'm looking into courier services and such but there doesn't seem to be anything in my area that will pick up prescriptions. Ughhh. I feel so sick and it's just getting worse.

TMI: Today's poop situation is soft serve ice cream, so much better than brown water.

She slept through the night and is being very pushy about food so yayyyyy.

I've only met one dogblr dog in person, and they're not actually on here anymore.

But I HAVE met multiple parents and siblings of dogblr dogs lol.

SHE IS HOME!!!!

She's yelling at me for her chew stick!! She's demanding butt scratches and doing her waggy happy dance!!

The emergency vet said she was eating well and her diarrhea has slowed down significantly and has more substance. Yay!! She's home with her million drugs, and hopefully will continue to improve for the next few days.

We got her into the vet before it got too bad. The dehydration and what not hadn't done any real damage. She bounces back from this kind of thing well.

Heard from Haley's regular vet that her pancreatitis test came back clear. Yay!!

Haven't heard from the emergency vet since this morning but I don't really expect to until closer to 5. At this point she's just staying for the whole 24 hours of fluids and monitoring since we already paid for it. Last time she was at emergency for pretty much the same thing she stayed like 2 and a half days. But the vet this morning seemed pretty sure she will come home today.

I've basically just been waiting all day until I can go get her. I tried to distract myself but I can't seem to. Arthur has been very snuggly ... He's a very emotionally aware little dog, always knows when I need comfort. I want to snuggle Haley right now though.

Haley did well overnight. She ate!! There was no vomiting. The diarrhea slowed down. If she continues doing well today we will get to bring her home this evening. She probably won't come home earlier in the day because we already paid for 24 hrs of hospitalization. But it's good that she'll get lots of fluids.

Thoughts and prayers for the bagel please. She's very sick. God bless our vet clinic for fitting us in today. Hopefully we can get this under control.

No calls about Haley overnight so hopefully that means she was okay at the emergency vet.

The vet did call at like 10pm just to go over some things. They did get her to eat, so that's good. I'm hoping the overnight fluids and drugs will have her feeling better enough to come home today.

I truly don't understand why they had me wait several hours at the emergency vet only to send me home and say the vet will call later tonight. Like. You are keeping my dog overnight anyway. Why exactly did I have to stay here.

Like if I could stay here with my dog that would be fine. But they took her away immediately.

At the emergency clinic. They took Haley in right away to unclamp her IV and get her back on fluids. I have to wait a few hours to see the vet to discuss things.

When my husband and I are out for the day or a weekend or something without the girls, we leave them with my parents.

Yeah. Gonna have to figure out what to do with the girls whenever we're gone going forward now that my parents have almost killed Haley.
