11. Hmm, good question! I think Octopath Traveler II, because it was fun to write something during the height of the fandom buzz with my first fic, and though my second fic didn't get much attention in comparison it was the most fun I've had writing pretty much anything and ended up being some of my best work! 14. There are several fics I didn't expect to write this year, but the most far out is definitely Hearts Live By Being Wounded! If you'd told me last year that I was going to write a Care Bears darkfic AND that it was going to be for university I would have never believed it. By that same token, I was not expecting to write Canterbury Tales fanfic or Beauty and the Beast smut, so it was certainly an interesting year! XD 15. One realization that only occurred to me late in the year (which I should have caught on to before, honestly) was that I was being too hard on myself for struggling with writing for fanfic exchanges at the beginning of the year, and forgiving myself for not having the energy to participate in them at all near the end of the year. Looking back, most of the exchanges I've written for were during 2022; you know, the year when I was on medical leave/unemployed. Of course I don't have that kind of time now, and of course I shouldn't expect myself to match that output (five works for Hurt/Comfort Exchange 2022, anyone?) So as much as I've enjoyed participating in exchanges, I've had to let go of the idea that I can feasibly keep participating in all of the same ones I've done before. Maybe in 2024 I'll be able to manage one or two... but I won't force it.

Going back to Willingen! Seeing my first ever favorite band live again after I think 7 years! Every concert that might happen

11. Something you want to do again next year?

Mmmh interesting! This one gave me more trouble than I thought. I immediately focused on some big things and went 'definitely not, not that, no, nope...' and realised my takeaway for the year is perhaps a little negative.

Though I've never done them formally and they were never popular so far, I think the one thing I want to 'do again' is comics. I'd like to study it more seriously and do an original piece. If you're gonna have 30 notes on it, you may as well have it be for your original work too, so I'd like it to focus on my own universes.

25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one

Quite a few! Obviously my struggle bug Elden Lord, a couple of Tavs, and then OCs for fics, some of which took more space in my brain than they have any right to.

I think the one who had the biggest impact on me this year has been Aitya, created for a completely off hand one shot written in bed before breakfast, that exploded in popularity so much that I caved and continued it.

She's sweet and somewhat naive in her hopes. Young, basically. She's a trader, and only a passable hunter and fisher. She serves as scout and glorified babysitter for Quaritch and his recoms when they spend time in their territory.

I did have a few playlists but kept changing up my thoughts. But...

Pulling on the Strings of Destiny: Unstoppable by The Score. Corny, but this is a fic close to canon, and I think it really fits the idea of a world against someone, and them fighting back. Cause Izumi is unstoppable and she won't back down.

Engine Roars: Fuck Up The Friendship by Leah Kate. Just look at the freaking TITLE. It is perfect, and ain't gonna lie this song is now my go to for the IiDeku pairing.

Burnt Ice: Ignite by Alan Walker, Julie Burgan and more. Kind of again a 'look at the title' but it fits the TodoDeku pairing so well.

Mission Woo Izuku/Photos and Videos: Misfit by High Drive Heart. It's just... the entire series started as a joke but like... it fits. Izuku is a misfit, despite how he's been put into a new role where he isn't. And so many people he can become connected to are also misfits who just want love. And he loves they're misfits, like they love he is to.

5. TV show of the year?

This is hard, I watched a lot of TV this year that I enjoyed. A few I have notably enjoyed are The Legend of Vox Machina, Dragon Age: Absolution, Abbott Elementary, Prehistoric Planet, Call the Midwife, Sandman...ooh, I got to go with Sandman. I haven't enjoyed a show like that in awhile. I'm also going to give a special shoutout to New Girl for helping me get through the last semester of grad school.

8. Game of the year?

I play the same games over and over! The only new game I played this year was Civilization VI - and that was only new to me. So, I'm happy to announce that for the 8th year in a row, Dragon Age: Inquisition was my game of the year.

11. Something you want to do again next year?

This may seem simple, but wearing dresses. I recently started wearing dresses again and I've been really enjoying it.

nbc hannibal is a romcom purely because the central conflict results from hannibal not understanding his feelings for will and being a total loser about it because he’s never had a friend or been in love before which makes him act so silly and do the most insane things that will interprets being framed for murder as hannibal having something against him (as anyone would), and this series of misunderstandings is not resolved until hannibal’s ex girlfriend and former psychiatrist tells will that hannibal is so in love with him it makes him look stupid. after that will does not hesitate to break hannibal out of jail and douse himself in blood which is this show’s equivalent to the protagonist running to the airport to stop their love interest from leaving the country and marrying someone else before they’ve had the chance to confess that they’ve loved them ever since they’ve known them

Batman had just missed them. Again. "Hey B," Bruce grunted, acknowledging Nightwing, "Are we sure these kids need help or do you think they need "help".

Bruce turned to glare at his oldest. He already had ten kids-ten-he was not handing out Kevlar to any more children unless it became absolutely necessary for them not to die. That being said the Nightengale family-two girls and one boy with no parents in sight- were behaving recklessly.

At first it seemed like a fluke. They had somehow managed to twist the Riddlers wording around to confuse him before casually and calmly hearding him away from the other hostages and had him talking so excitedly that he didn't even notice the police were there to arrest him until they were right behind him.

He looked so shocked.

This kept happening in different ways with various rogues. Killer Croc ended up drinking tea with the elder sister, Mr Freeze was caught up discussing Nora's illness and possible cures with the brother and Firefly had been adamantly teaching the youngest sister the wonders of arson and how different materials can burn in a variety of ways.

The Nightengale kids were just so used to corralling dangerous crazy people from dealing with thier parents thats its second nature to them.

Aka they become known as the Rogue Ranglers and Danny once again wants to strangle the press for thier bad naming abilities

17) Your favorite character to write this year?

I suppose I sound like a broken record at this point, but The Head That Wears The Crown is the proudest I've been of any work I've written yet, period - nevermind this year! I'm also rather proud of Return, given that it was something I managed to word-vomit in one sitting whilst in a bout of writer's block, and it's some quite pretty and painful Marle/Magus content to boot! In that same vein, I'm proud that I was able to contribute to The Parisian, because when my turn had originally come around I was in such a dry spell writing-wise that I just could not come up with anything; but I deferred my turn to the end, and I think I managed to wrap up the fic rather nicely ;) Favorite character this year, hmmm... I quite enjoyed trying my hand at writing Setzer for the first time in Ante-Up! I've always loved him, and he's such a fun, carefree character, so channeling that spirit into the fic was something I enjoyed ^_^

10. Something that made you cry this year?

Definitely Sousou No Frieren, multiple times! I could think of more things, but I have been really stunned by how amazing the animation of that show has been!!

Like, I've read the manga, I'm up to date. And it has made me misty eyed several times. But the animation has had a way of coming around and slapping me hard in the feels. The music, the art... It has made some of the story beats a lot more poignant than expected.

A very wholesome tear jerker! Just today I caught up to this episode and that scene made me tear up!! A 400yo dwarf who doesn't even remember the face of the human wife he loved so much Y_Y

24. Did you keep any New Year’s Resolutions?

I HAVE NO IDEA!! I don't remember what they were... And a quick search on my blog isn't bringing up anything Y_Y

I probably had stuff about finding a job (which I did, yay..)

Probably also had something about doing more original work... Which I didn't really, but regret. Fandom interactions have been having diminishing returns over time, and I think my expectations are now tripping me up. I'll definitely being focusing on that for this year's resolutions! Can't keep having my creative endeavours bringing me down.

You're a shit and we all know it.

Alright, I kinda do outline/plots. Here is the one for Engine Roars: starting line because it's a rewrite and it won't spoil things. I have already slightly gone off course.

First chapter is them discussing the marriage and the contract. Iida family offers to pay for Izumi to go to a new school. She accepts. Izumi makes sure to remain friends with all her potential suitors. Discovers Hawks is way older. It’s creepy to everyone. 

Chapter 2 is Izumi finishing her school. Bakugou makes noise and Izumi reveals she chose Iida. People are either shocked or not surprised at all. Bakugou is very shocked and throws a fit that’s stopped by the teacher. Said teacher is going: this child chose a hero family I ain’t messing with that. End of the chapter has the end of the school year.

Chapter 3 is Izumi in her new school. Bakugou is a brat. She goes to a gala, meets people.

Chapter 4 is Izumi and Iida going through school. Izumi helps with some charities and is in the media fairly frequently being passionate. Noted is that Bakugou is causing Izumi some annoyance. Tensei calls in help to have a few heroes around. Crime goes down, Bakugou can’t bug her.

Chapter 5- a year later. Izumi is known for her passion. Is happy with her future. Bakugou confronts her and Tenya. A bit of a fight. Slime villain happens. All Might offers her the Quirk. Training begins.

Chapter 6 more training. Izumi and All Might bond deeper. They beach clean up is had. Meets Ochako and Aoyama.

Chapter 7 Izumi gets the Quirk age 13/14 and starts training hard. Best friends with Ochako/Aoyama/Shinsou/Tokoyami.

Chapter 8- Entrance exam plus seeing Bakugou. We learn more of his thoughts concerning Izumi and the fact she seems to have moved on from him. We also learn Mituski and Masaru are oblivious and think BakuDeku will happen.

Chapter 9- the Quirk test and first few days of classes. (Note to self: Should I have Bakugou in 1B?)

Chapter 10- Battle trials

Chapter 11: more classes.

Chapter 12 USJ

Chapter 13: USJ. Izumi discovers black whip. Shigaraki thinks she is Sensei’s child. End

I started reading Dungeon Meshi last week, became instantly charmed and captivated, and blitzed through the entire manga in 4 days (and changed my profile picture about it). With that in mind, I would just like to say...

can’t talk about it

[ID: Black and white comic of Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun Maximum. The comic starts with the sounds "thud, thud, click". Vash, mid-action of peeling an apple, turns to the sound, noticing who it was that entered, and says, "Oh, Wolfwood, you're back." He resumes back to his apple in the next panel as he speaks, "Where'd you go? You snuck out of bed quickly this morning..." Wolfwood's hand then enters the panel, hovering over Vash's cheek and Vash looks up as Wolfwood asks, "Can I?" Vash responds, "Not going to talk about it?" while using a hand to gently hold Wolfwood's hovering hand and presses a kiss to his inner palm.

Vash then gets up fully, setting down the knife down on the table and the apple onto a plate, He leans into Wolfwood as Wolfwood explains, "Had to meet someone. Nothing interesting to talk about." Vash kisses Wolfwood's left cheek and a hand moves to cup his other cheek while muttering, "You're being vague." Wolfwood says neutrally, "If yer really that curious, keep askin'. We  can talk about that instead of doing this." Vash leans back and responds, "Let's talk after, since... You look so tired."

The panel pans to a close up of Wolfwood's downcast eyes, bags heavy underneath his eyes. He doesn't allow Vash to sit in that moment for long though, then saying, "Yer not helping, Spikey. Being all slow with it... I could fall asleep right now." He moves his hand to start unclasping Vash's coat, starting from his collar. Vash with red cheeks, responds briskly, "Oh, shut up. I'm worried about you. I can't be worried?"

The final shot shows Wolfwood's back to the viewer while Vash's softened expression can be seen as he holds gently onto the side of Wolfwood's face and a hand firm on his waist. Wolfwood responds, "I'm fine, seriously," pausing for a moment before continuing, "Is it okay to still..?" Vash responds, "Yeah, it's okay."

The next image is a shot from later that night after the previous comic. Vash and Wolfwood are now in bed, half naked. Wolfwood's buries his face into Vash's chest, his arms wrapped around him, while Vash is petting at his hair. Vash reminds him, "Hey. You said we'd talk about it." Wolfwood pauses for a moment before piping up, "In the morning? I'm sleepy." Vash says, "Okay..."

The next two pages start from the morning after. Wolfwood is already fully awake, pulling on his outer jacket as he says to Vash, whos' still bundled in his blankets, "Breakfast is on the table. Make sure to eat it. I'm going to grab some things in town and then we're leavin'. Got it?" Vash says, "Mh." Wolfwood responds, "Good. See ya in a bit." The dialogue starts to shift into Vash's inner thoughts now, as he gets up and eats toast, thinking, "Wait. Weren't we supposed to... talk about it?" The next shot then shows him fully up, meeting Wolfwood in town. He carries a half worried expression with him while Wolfwood slides on his glasses for him. A quick panel shows Wolfwood's tired expression from the night before and quickly juxtaposes with Wolfwood in front of him who's smiling gently, the shades covering his eye bags. Wolfwood asks him, "Still not awake yet?" Vash pauses, his thoughts stirring, thinking, "Oh. I guess I was getting ahead of myself... thinking you owe me that kind of honesty." He smiles at Wolfwood and responds, "I'm awake!" His thoughts continue, "Maybe one day, you'd trust me enough to share your burdens."

The final image shows Wolfwood pulling at Vash's cheek and Vash complains, "Owwwww why..." Wolfwood quickly says, "You were thinking something stupid, right? It's all over yer face." Vash mutters, "Nooo, I wasn't..." END ID]
