Some idea for the Samurai AU

Emily's Earth Slicer.

Has two other distinct forms, one being a claw like mace with brute force when dual fighting using her spin sword.

A shovel like naginata that utilizes the sheer strength of earth to mow down enemies, compared to Jayden she's got untapped physical strength from being a part of the Dahmia Family (her clan and last name in the AU) and can rival his fire smasher when using this.

Everyone underestimates the little girl in the yellow cardigans with the princess blonde curls and bright smile. They think of her as the princess in the ivory tower, coddled by her father, needing to be saved from the horrors of the world, whether physical or emotional. They think of her as the least valuable member of the team, the one destined to be damsel.

Everyone forgets that Emily's element is Earth.

She is not the forest; she is not growth. She is not the sky; she is not enveloping. She is not water; she is not shifting. She is not fire; she doesn’t know how to burn.

She is what other people take root in, what other people find strength from. She is grounded, stable, strong, despite the way the world seems to be constantly shifting around her. She is the voice of reason, the one who cannot afford to fall. She is the one who others will stand on in order to keep their own balance.

She will be standing until the very world falls apart.

I waited years for an Emily fic and I finally got it, and boy was it worth the wait. I loved the characterization of Emily in this series and her association with earth and how steadfast she is, but it was so nice to see her supported by her Soulmates after Serena's death just as she supported her team throughout the nighlock invasion.

Today I’ve realized just how much I enjoyed Power Rangers Samurai cause it was literally the season that pulled me back into the fandom.

These suits were honestly a serve and I always love a good gold ranger

This ship? Fucking iconic. I still ship these angsty bitches and Jayden’s one of my favorite reds (even if they gave him a ROUGH bowl cut in later episodes)

Emily deserved better cause she was a bad bitch, she was the emotional glue of the team, she always tried to improve, and was a tough fighter and they all thought she wasn’t for too long.

Also these zords slapped, the clawzord is so dope, the oragami zords were adorable, and the lightzord was a very fun little guy

- Mia learns how to be a fantastic cook as she continues going (and with Antonio's help)

- Antonio was trained by Cam Watanabe (and the other Ninja Rangers)

- Emily's sister was not the path of Earth, but the path of healing

- In a world of Soulmates: Jayden/Antonio, Mia/Emily, Mike/Kevin

- Last names! Jayden Shiba, Antonia Garcia, Mia Watanabe, Emily Tanaka, Mike Sato, Kevin Yamamoto

- There are more Samurai discs and more paths one can take, they where just lost to time and in battle. The Life disc (white, coyote), for example

- Ji was and is a horrible mentor and none of the Rangers looked at him the same after he took Antonio's morpher

- Ji is Mia's uncle, Cam Watanabe is Mia's cousin

- The Samurai Rangers gets drunk together during their fight with Master Xandred and his brood exactly once and never again

- If someone so much as LOOKS at Antonio the wrong way, the other Rangers are ready to throw hands

- Lauren Shiba had to find her place in a team that already had a Red. She chose pastels are her color after the fight was over

- On the subject of Lauren, she's aroace

- She also has a daughter, named Kirsten

- Antonio and Jayden are in love and have a beautiful relationship, once Antonio gets Jayden to actually open up about his feelings

- The Rangers model their relationships after other Ranger relationships not their parents' relationships (except Emily's, her parents are amazing, even after Serena's illness)
