I know theres a lot of lore to discuss right now but...actors au.

everything is the same except they are actors okay and I am figuring out which kind of actor everyone is.

Vegetta is a director and a host in diffrent types of shows as well as small roles in sitcoms and romcom movies, everyone regards him as the nation's first crush (kinda like chayanne).

Willy has played a couple of small roles in some militar action movies and his neutral expressions as well as his stoic nature maintain him in those roles type or roles.

Alexby is well known for his major roles in science fiction movies, from intergalactic adventures to genius inventors his presence and delivery is unique and plays a couple of voice acting roles as well.

Rubius started as a sitcom guy and some major TV shows but recently started to branch out to science fiction and horror roles, he's like an Adam Sandler, he definitely started doing stand up comedy in his early years.

Luzu started playing minor roles in big movies which eventually led him into dipping his toes into screenwriting and directing, his roles have stayed fairly medium but his talent has not gone unnoticed. He definitely did theatre when he was younger and maybe even some musical theatre as well.

Quackity isn't amateur when it comes to acting as he started from a fairly young age playing small but incredibly memorable roles in sitcoms and slice of life shows (nickelodeon type vibe), recently tho he was pulled in by a friend to join a drama series that blew up overnight, he ended up being one of the favorite cast member and had his own successful arc in the show.

I dunno, I think my take on an actor AU would be the Eldritch AU. It's an actor AU, but nobody but c!Dream knew. Involuntary, unwitting Actor AU. With no cameras. Or like, maybe one camera but it only took 10 photos and none of them are good.

I like my stuff to carry a solid layer of still being fucked up to it. Even when I'm writing lighter stuff. Actor AUs in full are hard to do that with, although there's a really good Warden Hybrid c!Dream AU on a03 that plays with that concept well! I think the most recent work is Roommates?

That being said, in a full Actor AU I think the most important thing is that the show is done live, and c!Wilbur made up the thing about fucking a fish on the spot, and refuses to retcon it no matter what anyone else tries. People tried to pressure him into changing it, and c!Phil made up the thing about fucking a fridge in solidarity.

Dsmp au idea

so it’s kind of an actor au plus a real minecraft au plus some other stuff.

So everything that was really bad in the dream smp was all acting and they had all planned it because they thought it would be fun, so like Wilbur’s death? Ghostbur was just Wilbur in a crap ton of makeup. The red festival and tubbo’s scars? All planned and Tubbo’s scars were from an accident at an earlier date, the festival was just where they took all the makeup off of tubbo that covered the scars and it helped him accept what he looked like with them. Ok, so here’s the thing, in this au, all of the dsmp people would come from bad situations that dream saved them from by offering them a spot on the server. So, all of the dsmp members think very highly of dream and think it’s the funniest thing ever that he plays the villain. Everyone on the server would throw hands for dream. Also, the minors are treated the opposite that they are in cannon, everyone adopted them, especially dream. They're like, community children, everyone shares parenting rights. Also, everyone is op as crud in this au. Like Sam is a creeper hybrid that is his cannonical height of 7′4″ and can blow up without dying or taking damage and is a genius and can use a trident best of anyone in the entire universe or something like that. Also all of the relationships are happy, karlnapity, foolsamponk, drunz or dnf (whichever you prefer), Niki and Puffy, (platonic) ranboo and tubbo, and any others that I'm forgetting. When the nuke comes down, that was really everyone just moving to a new server because they wanted to start fresh and they started up (or ended) the acting thing with that ending scene that we saw in the finale before ( the “wanna be friends?” scene) and everyone is just really happy

c!Wilbur Redesign

This is my compromise to the current situation regarding Shubble and the speculation surrounding Wilbur. This is coming from a fanfiction writer who has always, and always will, see the CCs as nothing more than voice actors for their characters. Buckle in, this is going to be a long one. But please read all the way through. If you don't know, recently Shubble came forward with a video about how she was in an abusive relationship. And she dropped some hints because she wants people to speculate about who it is. Wants to make sure that a person with bad intentions can't get away with more bad things. A lot of people are speculating that, due to said hints and previously established crush that he had on her, Wilbur is the person who abused her. Now personally? I do not believe this. It's hard for me to believe that Wilbur would do something like that. I don't like the idea of hopping on the hate train or immediately jumping to cancel someone. So I will be waiting for real facts and confirmation before saying anything regarding the CC. A lot of the speculation doesn't make sense to me logically and I also never got the chance to see the video before it was deleted. This is not me calling Shubble a liar. I 100% believe her and my heart goes out to her completely. She doesn't deserve being treated horribly, nobody does. The situation I'm hearing she went through is a wretched thing and I will not TOLERATE people insulting her or saying that she should just say who it was. That shit is not okay and never will be okay. HOWEVER! I will NOT stop writing Wilbur's character. A little fact about me is that when I came into this fandom, it wasn't because I watched the CCs. It wasn't because I was interested in MCYT. The reason I came here was because a very close friend of mine asked me to cowrite a fic with them. At the time the only fandom we really shared even vaguely was DSMP. I knew very little about it but I knew some things. I let my friend choose the ship. They chose TNT Duo. And it's thanks to that friend that I wrote Arsonist's Waltz. That I started to adore Quackbur and wrote my most well known fic, You Were Never Meant to be a Hero. And thanks to YWNMTBAH I made so many cherished friends. It's all because of these two little characters that still have me in a chokehold even though I've been writing them for quite some time now. And that's why I can't simply let go of Wilbur's character. But regardless of my ability to separate the Cs from the CCs, for some people that distinction is harder. The CCs to me are just glorified voice actors. For other people it's harder. They can separate the characters from the content creators just fine, but this situation hits them close to home. And it hurts. So, this is my proposed solution, brought to my attention by a friend who was heavily affected by this situation, but loved the work she was doing and didn't want to have to let it go. C!Wilbur doesn't have an actual canon design. When you think about it, the only thing we have to go off of is his Minecraft skin. Something that, when you think about it, doesn't tell us much about the character at all. There is no canon design because most of what we see as "canon" is based on the CC, not the character himself. When you look at c!Wilbur, the skin, does he have an eye color? Do we know his height? What about his hair length? His build? What do we actually know about this character outside of the clothing on his back and the personality his actor gave him? And when you make an AU everything changes. From now on? My c!Wilbur design that I'll use as a baseline for most of my fics is a 6ft man with heterochromia. One eye blue, the other teal. He's going to have brown curly hair that dips just below his shoulders and a light scar over one of his eyes. Sometimes he'll have freckles because what the fuck can we tell from a Minecraft skin anyways? He wears black nail polish because why not? Slay.

I already treated him and c!Quackity like glorified OCs already. Why not further OC the glorified OCs? So what if they aren't a faithful adaptation? How can anyone say what is and isn't "faithful" when we're talking about BLOCK MEN. Make them eldritch. Make them supernatural. Make them whatever kind of hybrid you want them to be! I'll die on my Magpie!Wilbur and Shrike!Quackity hill! Give them different eye colors and let them dye their hair sometimes, I'm going to make the white streak PINK because TWINS DUO and CHERRY BLOSSOM TRIPLETS! Give your Phantom!Wilburs green eyes and glowing blood! Give your Shapeshifter!Wilburs more hair and eye colors! Do what you want because the character has no actual canon design. Go wild with your AUs and remember that you're doing this for fun. For your enjoyment. Don't conform to what someone else wants from you just because your adaption, your interpretation, "isn't the real Wilbur". The characters are what we make them. Because the reality of the situation? They are literally just blocks in a cube game. There is no canon design. Don't let the actions of some asshole ruin what you love.

In the dsmp actors au Michael_B would be played by identical triplet piglin babies

I feel like in general c!sbi got butchered in most common fanfiction trends because writers tended to forgo their canon relationships for much more...cookie cutter ones I guess? There's the bio family fics where Techno, Tommy, and Wilbur are all Phil's kids, the dark fics where Phil is a violently abusive parent to Wilbur and Tommy, the fics where they're portrayed as a seemingly evil group of 'good guys', etc. And there's nothing wrong with people writing these fics, I don't have issues with the individual authors, but it's tiring when these ideas become large enough that they tend to overtake works based off of their actual dynamics. Like. Phil's attempted kindness but complete lack of understanding or connection to Wilbur is interesting!! Tommy, bearing no relation to Phil, being the one to try to bridge the distance between them and being the only person to seek out his advice is interesting! Tommy and Wilbur not being biological brothers who weren't raised together adds layers to their dynamic! Techno's shifting relationship with Tommy over the course of Pogtopia to Doomsday was interesting!!

I also may be off base on this, but I feel like more often than not when an author cracks out 'The Dream Team' as the main antagonists, they're much more likely to have completely different characterization than if an author chose one of them to focus on. IDK. I think many people try to look for tropes to slot characters into, and having multiple characters with complex relationships treated in that way tends to make the results more egregious.

mmhm mmhm -- i'd say that the cc dynamics kiiiiiinda influence a lot here shrug. the idea of "sbi versus dteam" has its roots in conflicts that are decidedly not based on the dream smp roleplay, honestly, and a lot of that carried over into the fanworks that were supposedly based on the dream smp but really took a lot of creative liberties dabbling in elements of both rpf and fic about the server itself.

not that that's a bad thing, or anything! people can write what they want, etc. but it sure did lead to a lot of err misleading? i guess? "advertising" when it came to people's "dsmp AUs" -- maybe confusing is a better word. like, look ooc-ness is something that every fandom has to deal with, but in most fandoms fanon isn't so obviously based on what is still the fandom, but like. a part of the fandom that's technically kinda separated from the fiction of the fandom. most of the time with actors they don't necessarily have a whole career founded on their playing a persona with other people in a context that ISN'T acting yknow? or maybe there is it's not like id know lmao

but yeah the phenomenon of bleedover from cc personas is all too real in this fandom, for better and for worse

So I am remaining within the DSMP fandom as a whole, the DSMP's storyline to me is a comfort thing, I love the silly block men and my many aus. I'm mentioning this cause I am officially disregarding all CC related dramas or anything to do with the technical actors & writers of the DSMP.

This is mainly due to a mass amount of misinformation and various other things, I don't want to deal with, it causes wayyy to much conflict that consequently involves what I consider a comfort thing and additionally I'm going to be getting wayyy more liberal with what I post involving the characters (mainly in the shipping department) and I want it very clear that this is a blog that is CHARACTER based content.

Now to discuss something very important that ties in with this choice of mine to disregard drama, I additionally don't care who interacts with me and my content in terms of which CCs they like or don't like, what I do give a shit about are people in this fanbase who are assholes and go out of their way to treat certain people like shit cause they like Dream or whoever. I do not want anyone who thinks death-threating or doxing or anything of the sort is okay justified behavior as long as it's one group of people, near me or my content. My blog is a safe neutral ground for enjoyers of the CHARACTERS, your CC preference means nothing to me but how you treat others cause of their CC preference does matter - so in short, if you think attacking people based on which CCs they like is justified and okay, kindly, get the fuck out, the door is over there. I don't care what aforementioned CC has or has not done as long as they are not actively using their platforms to push shitty agendas and to hurt people, I can care less who you choose to watch - I care more about the ability to be a decent fucking human and to just leave people alone, harassment of any kind is not justified no matter the target.

I'm sorry if any of this is jumbled but I just need to put this out there.

Summary: I kindly ask that people who think harassment in any form towards people for the CCs they like is okay to please leave my blog and not interact with my content. Aside from this, almost anyone is free to interact with me - this is a safe space for DSMP Character enjoyers. Additionally please do not bring CC drama to my blog, I only make content on the DSMP Characters and do not wish to discuss drama due to various personal reasons. My CC opinions are my own private information and are not connected to my works involving their characters from the DSMP.

definitely super alternate universe, the premise is george is a famous semi washed up actor who goes back to his hometown in missouri to film a movie that could bring back his career, where dream has been waiting for him after he left, now owner of a coffee shop they frequented as teenagers. i actually hadn't read this before but i liked it! the worldbuilding was easily the best part for me and i like dnfs characterizations in this one

requiem for an idiot in love - orphaned

dnf meet as small actors during an audition, becoming friends, falling into domesticity and getting casted together with everyone on set thinking they're a couple until they end up together. super cute, one note is i dont like how the writer wrote q's dialogue (not a super major character but there), it's very babys first bilingual character but it's easy to ignore he's there lol. love the dnf dynamic here

television static - effervescentlies

dnf are actors who don't get along until they get cast as the main lead lovers in a movie, slowly falling for each other after the director recognizes their natural chemistry on set. REALLY good i think the writing style is awesome and i love coming back to it

the star that looks at me - elytrabun

actor george gets assigned a bodyguard, dream, who he eventually warms up to and falls for after initially disapproving of having a bodyguard. this one is much more focused on the bodyguard and relationship development aspects but i still like it, although im not obsessed with the emotional climax. cozy read though

hop inside (come see my movie) - orphaned

dnf notting hill au where dream is a famous actor who visits georges small bookshop in london and they run into each other, falling into a whirlwind romance. ive rec'ed this one before, i just love the dynamics between george and the rest of the characters (kq warning) but most of all dream. if you know the plot of notting hill you already know how it goes but i think the dnf dynamic is what sets this fic apart from the source material

nepotism, baby! - hayloftown

george is a famous nepotism actor who gets sent to dreams family's farm by his father to lay low in anticipation of a big pr scandal. i like the worldbuilding and character work in this one, really getting into dnf's brains and what theyre thinking as they navigate their relationships. definitely more of a further alternate universe than some of these other ones (as in it feels more like ocs than dnf sometimes) and the actor aspect isn't as focused on as much as the general tribulations of fame and being in the public eye but i still include it because it was a fun read

george is an actor in LA struggling to get roles when he meets dream, a famous established actor who has disappeared from the public eye for a year. i like that this one has a lot more of the acting aspect, though it can feel a bit dramatic at times if thats not your jam. references to drugs, panic attack scenes, implied abuse, and feral boys inclusion

Yes! First ask here we go!

The AU is still kind of in development, so I don't have any ideas for shows Ironed out yet, but there will be shows that they will be working on. I was kind of interested in making their shows references to projects the CCs made for their YouTube channels and stuff. I'm a little on the fence on if the DSMP will be canon in GenLoss as a TV show or not because I only want to include content creators that actually made an appearance in the show (and maybe some who were theorized to show up back when GenLoss was just teaser trailers)

For the most part they're all so burned out from working at such a shitty company that they don't even know what they want to do when their contracts end, they're just excited to leave. Charlie is considering starting a YouTube channel or something because Showfall was his first career at a corporation and he has officially decided that from now on he wants to work for himself.

Almost all of the ways the actors are treated during TSE is specifically as some kind of messed up punishment for their behavior when they weren't under mind control, and a way of humiliating them and devaluing them as a person. So making Charlie think he was raised at Showfall when put under mind control is sort of a response to how open he was about wanting to leave and hating it there and always being one of the first people to fight back against the abuse. So it's gonna be a whump don't worry.

Sorry for not answering you with a comic like I said, I was just really excited when I saw your ask and wanted to answer as soon as possible! Maybe you can ask me more questions about the characters or how Showfall works and I'll try to answer that in a comic.

So far my working title for the project is "How to Fail at Ship Jumping" because Showfall is a sinking ship that will take everyone down with it in the worst possible way.

👎 AI-generated images, for ocs or otherwise. I don't care if you think you're bad at drawing (I accept and will try to do something with even very basic drawings anyway), and if you absolutely can't draw for yourself for whatever reason commission somebody or maybe ask an artist friend.

👎 Didn't think this one would have to be said, but it's been asked once before, so: I won't give you boards based around/gifs of gross body functions (diarrhea, vomit, etc)
