What is even going on in the TR spin-off, I don't read it but every time I see panels of latest chapters ony dash it looks more and more insane

Alright anon get comfy cause I'm about to run you through everything you've missed!

Alright the story kicks off properly with Chifuyu being an edgy boi until he gets that beaten out of him by some guys and Baji rescues him (basically what happened in the main manga). Chifuyu then follows Baji home where he meets his milf mother, they share some food, Chifuyu attempts to get into toman but Baji tells him NO. Chifuyu then stalks Baji for a while and when I say stalks I mean it, he even follows him into the bathroom. They then have a moment in the rain where Baji beats the hell out of Chifuyu but accepts him as a friend, no toman yet though.

Chifuyu then straight up assumes he'll be the 2nd division vice captain even though he isn't even in the gang until he finds out Baji already has a vice captain. The 1st division plans to beat these guys in an abandoned hospital up but Chifuyu gets the awful brilliant idea of going early to this place and beating everyone himself. But he turns up and finds everyone already beaten, instead of doing the smart thing and leaving he heads inside and finds the sleeping captain of the rival gang, Ryusei Sato. They fight, we all fall in love with Ryusei and then PLOT TWIST! Ryusei isn't the captain of this gang he's the Baji's vice captain! He was just being a silly little guy. But he thinks Chifuyu is cute so asks Baji to let him into toman.

Chifuyu hates Ryusei on site and decides to stalk him while Peke J has his own adventure. Chifuyu follows Ryusei all the way to a hospital where Ryusei is visiting an injured 1st division member. Peke J then turns up and Ryusei decides to adopt him, this royally pisses Chifuyu off who starts arguing until Baji turns up and beats both Ryusei and Chifuyu.

Chifuyu still has his punk haircut at this point so Baji takes issue with that and tells him he has to change it. Chifuyu has a panic attack since HE CAN'T DISAPPOINT BAJI and tries to figure out what to do. Ryusei offers to help but just trolls him by making his hair worse. Chifuyu has another panic attack and runs into Baji he's like NO I'M UGLY DON'T LOOK BAJI but Baji styles Chifuyu's hair himself and tells him to never change it ever.

Then we've had too much peace for a while so some guys invade the school to get Baji. Baji can't fight since he loves his mum. So Ryusei and Chifuyu have to do it instead, Chifuyu slides down off the roof like a mad man and goes all ninja on them. Baji gets his arm broken. Ryusei's dark impulses come out and he nearly yeets a guy off the roof but Baji and Chifuyu stop him. We also find out Ryusei has ties with this rival gang.

Then Ryusei gets all sad over the dark impulses and that annoys Chifuyu so Chifuyu uses his fists as therapy and attempts to throw hands. He breaks Ryusei's toman uniform and Baji tells him not to. So then he attempts to throw hands with Ryusei again, they both fight. Somehow the therapy fists work and Ryusei cheers up. Ryusei then gets a new toman uniform and Chifuyu gets his first one, he has a Takemichi kinnie moment and cries over it.

Chifuyu goes over to Baji's house and helps him and his mother move some furniture about. Baji's mum brother zones them then tells Chifuyu to always look after Baji.

Then there are some imposter's running around pretending to be Mikey and Draken they run into Chifuyu and Ryusei. Chifuyu straight up believes they're them but Ryusei knows Ryusei then decides to torture them over this by making them eat lots and fight. Chifuyu gets offended by this and prepares to square up with Ryusei until Baji shows up with Pochi (Pah's dog). Ryusei gets scared of Pochi, Chifuyu chases him with Pochi and Baji beats the imposters up.

Baji's failing all his classes so enlists Chifuyu to help torture him. They both have a breakdown but manage to pass. Baji then dresses as a girl to get a maths tutor and Chifuyu joins him because yolo.

Ryusei then straight up disappears after he gets targeted by some guys who went after Chifuyu too. No one notices for a week though so Chifuyu goes to his house we then meet Ryusei's milf mother and find his old gang uniform.

Chifuyu goes to find Ryusei with his own mizo middle squad and goes around asking random guys if they've seen him. He gets tazored and tied up by the rival gangs vice captain but at least he finds the kidnapped Ryusei.

And that's the spinoff!

Well, one day Sarah was starting shit with others as she typically does bc she's clearly starved for attention and was giving out unoriginal shitty ass insults 💀

like literally this was one I'm not kidding, "You look like ratatouille" (she meant Remy, the rat FROM the movie ratatouille)

okay so she was talking, throwing pencils and acting like a fucking fool during testing, well we cant do that or else it fails EVERYONE in the room

Well I was sleeping after I finished my test, and I literally chose violence that moment (true Ran Kinnie moment) and cussed her ass out

like even the teacher was joining in and agreeing with me like pretty much I said, "You look like a goofy-ass cockroach so stfu, also its the RAT from ratatouille so get yo fucking facts straight, just because you don't wanna take this fucking test bc I know damn well we've been in here for 3 hours and you aren't even on question 10, doesn't mean you get to fuck up the rest of us who are actually trying to pass the grade, I'm sorry your 14 and still in 5th grade, and if you got a problem with this test go tf outside <3" (btw I go to a school where the 5th-12th grade is mixed together)

then she got offended and said "girl like you're so annoying" Me: "No need to describe yourself" Her: "UGH IF YOU GOT A PROBLEM WANNA FIGHT" Me: "All I gotta do is get raid, besides I dont touch bugs" and so the teacher who is in charge of discipline came in and took her ass out as the whole class was going on about how I bitch Sarah and I literally was so petty, I said, "Buh bye!~" smiled, and waved to her before flicking her off

and I never got in trouble or my test invalidated 🤩

ALRIGHT! IT’S MY TURN TO INTRODUCE MYSELF!

I can’t believe my brother went before me -_-

I’m Mikey! My pronouns are he/him and my sexuality is 💅 (I’m dating a Draken fictive. Be jealous. Stay mad. I’m winning /lh)

I’m a fictive of Manjiro Sano from Tokyo Revengers, and I’m one of the system’s two main physical protectors. Jax is the other, and the difference in how we operate as physical protectors is that I’m the one who handles street fights/bare handed combat, and Jax is the one who would (and hopefully this never happens) take control during a seriously dangerous situation like a home invasion. I have gotten into fights in the body, and I won most of them (I don’t count the other guy running away or someone interrupting the fight as a win, otherwise I’d say all of them)

I swear more than a lot of alters, and even though there is a sort of unspoken rule to keep things relatively pg on our blog but FUCK THAT I WAS A FUCKING GANG LEADER I DON’T GIVE A DAMN THIS IS AN 18+ BLOG WE GOT “minors dni” IN OUR FUCKING BIO JUST FUCK OFF IF YOU DON’T WANT TO HEAR A DELINQUENT USE PROFANITIES THEN GO TALK TO A FUCKING VEGGIE TALES FICTIVE OR SMTH but I will tag the post with tw’s for caps and language because I’m considerate (and I don’t get babied as much if I act like a dick)

I’d list my besties but I have a lot of friends, all of whom I’d die for, and some of them aren’t on Tumblr

My favorite colors are crimson red and salmon pink, favorite song is a toss up between Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana), Delinquents (Call me Karizma), and A Love Like War (All Time Low), but I really just love a lot of grunge, alt rock, and pop punk music. Favorite foods are…idk but the snacks I have the most are ice cream, milkshakes, and boba tea

Just recently, I took my twin (a Mikey kinnie) to the pumpkin patch and I kept throwing corn at them and it’s already one of my favorite memories. We also bought some tiny ass pumpkins. They fit in the palm of my hand! They’re so cute

⚘ TELLING THEM YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO FIGHT! ──── ✿ ft. mikey, draken, baji, sanzu, and kisaki.

ᖘ MIKEY stopped what he was doing midway; in this case, it was licking his ice cream. 'You wanna learn to fight, hm… and why is that? No one's giving you issues right? 'Cause I could–' 'No, Manjiro, I just wanna know how.' 'Why? You have me!' He genuinely doesn't understand, maybe sometime in the future… or never.

ᖘ DRAKEN gave you a quick 'Okay.' and that was all, no questions asked. He doesn't allow you to go back on what you asked because he believes that knowing how to defend yourself will be useful. He asks Emma to help him because he doesn't want to actually fight you and risk hurting you. Maybe when you get to his level he will consider it.

ᖘ BAJI was very excited to hear you say that. He is a very very strict teacher, so you have Mentor Baji and Boyfriend Baji. Don't get them confused. Wouldn't be all that shocked if you quit on him, but if you don't Chifuyu will not hear the end of it. In a good way, like Baji won't shut up about you.

ᖘ SANZU tries to read you. In the end, he takes it as a joke, there is no way you're serious. 'Do you want me to teach you? Is that what you mean?' After that, nothing really happens, not until you ask him again. Then he's just surprised, but nevertheless, he teaches you. Expected you to quit cause learning sure isn't easy, especially if you don't work out a lot. If you do stick to it expect a lot of headpats, I said what I said.

ᖘ NAHOYA thinks the thought is cool and he teaches you the basics. Then he stopped teaching you because he thought that was all you wanted to learn but you just took it as time to perfect what he taught you. 'Baby, I practiced all that you taught me. I think that I'm actually really good at it!' 'Really, yn?' 'Yes, and I want you to teach me more! Unless… that's all you know?' Of course he saw that as a challenge, and taught you all that he knew.

This is sort of a stale take, but lately i've been thinking about what makes Tokyo Revengers so special and i think i got it. Because besides being a midly ridiculous tale about a boy who can time leap and is really bad at it, it is also a tale about grief.

Like the story really happens because Takemichis grief for a time when he felt truly happy, and a woman that made him feel special, and we see that grief is what carries the story. Think about it, it is Naoto's grief and his refusal to accept his sister's death, that leads him to make a deal with super unreliable time traveler Takemichi, and it doesn't stop there, nearly all important characters are actively going through a time of grieving.

We see it in Chifuyu for whos grief for Baji manifest as loyalty both to his former friends dreams as we see in the bonten future, and loyalty to Takemichi who we know he sees as Bajis successor. We see it Kokonui and Inui for whom grief is expressed as codependency and just plain delusion in hopes to recover a person who is no longer with them. We see it in the Shiba family whose grief for their mother became abuse and violence which we know at some point resulted in death. We even see it in Kisaki who mourns the Hina in his head and does everything in his power to recover her.

But most importantly we see it in our deuteragonist/antagonist/love interest Mikey, whose inability to accept his grief kickstarts all the bad things that happen in the future. (so yeah Kazutora is kinda right it is Mikey's fault). Mikey's denial and refusal to accept death and his own grief for the people he has lost is what destroys all possibilities of a good future. Sure Kisaki is the main antagonist of the series but the true evil is Mikey's grief, and the only way now to ensure a happy future for the people that are left is making Mikey accept that he is grieving and has been grieving for quite sometime.

What Tokyo Revengers is really about is how our expression of grief affects us and everyone around us, and how failing to let go can only hurt us and everyone else in the long run.
