Part 1 Protective Nightwing
Dick Grayson has been a hero longer than most have he's made a reputation for being kind understanding silly he's overlooked but he was the first Robin. He trained under Deathstroke, beaten Batman and for every two that forgets one remembers.
When it comes to his brothers he will always be dangerous ready with his escrima cracking. One such instance was Black Mask.
Jason knew he might have overshot this one, a gun fight with over fifty of Sionis men. He's sweating he can't dodge he might be slightly scared he can feel that this is bad. Before he can think He's already on the Bat channel. An interesting convo he had with Little Red fresh in his mind.
He speaks shoving all of his fear sounding as pathetic as he can praying this works.
Dickie I'm scared there's too many help.
He hears his brothers intake of breathe as he growled sending all of the hair on Jason's neck up.
I'll be right there Little Wing just wait.
His brother descends before Jason can blink. All of them are down blood pouring out bones broken and there is Black Mask sobbing for mercy.
Nightwing is giggling as he shocks Mask he can smell the burning flesh and as much fun as it was to watch he can feel blood pouring from his shoulder and he really wants to pass out.
And well he never denied being Dramatic
Big Bird my shoulder he says as he falls into his brothers arms.
He got fussed over and coddled for 2 weeks but more importantly Black Mask pissed himself the next time Hood ran into him.
No wonder the baby birds always shout for big brother He wonders if it works on Deathstroke?

"Dick was an abusive brother to Jason" "Dick was aggressive with Jason" "Dick gave Robin to Damian" "Damian stole the Robin mantle" my brother in Batman, no one of those words are in the bible! Wtf are you into about?

I gave myself a writing challenge and I am fascinated by it
So basically I put the robins in a randomizer to give them a new order/role (because I just...kinda wanted to see what would happen + I like role-reversal AUs) and got results that are giving me a fucking brain blast.
Stephanie, the first sidekick who defines the role
Tim, the sidekick who dies and comes back wrong
Dick, the sidekick who saves Batman from himself
Damian, the sidekick who was never supposed to be a sidekick but would go on to prove everyone wrong
Jason, the youngest sidekick who is still the Kid Wonder
...So this is fucking wild. I've got some ideas and several of these fit perfectly (Dick's role is pretty similar to his one in canon), but some of these are fucking INCREDIBLE to explore (Steph being the first Robin is something I never even considered but tbh I kinda love it).
I probably won't write a fic or anything because tbh I don't like publishing my writing that much, but I might expand this into a full AU and post about it. I might randomize other stuff too (ie, stuff that I cannot change vs stuff that I cannot keep the same) but this fucking rules as a starting point.

I have seen you talking about Dick & Dami's relationship and Dick & Tim as well, but what are your takes on Dick and Jason actually?
Like how you wish their relationship should be portrayed today and where are them missing when it comes to making those two acting like siblings?
Do you think in the past their dynamic was better?
How Dick views Jason and how Jason views Dick?
This is difficult to answer because there are like 8 different stages to Dick and Jason's relationship with various dynamics. They also view each other a bit differently depending on which stage we're talking about.
The way I would like their relationship to be portrayed today isn’t necessarily possible thanks to Jason’s integration into the family and acceptance of the no killing moral code. For me, their ideal dynamic is portrayed in Outsiders #44-46. And I know people are gonna find that regressive as hell but, tbh, that dynamic is far more interesting than the kinda awkward thing they have going on now.
Although, I don't mind that they acknowledge their brotherhood in a serious manner now. Like before they'd kinda be like, "Eh... I mean... we were adopted from the same guy but... brothers? Eh..." And now they're more firmly in the, "We're brothers," camp. So that development is interesting.
Character progression wise, it wouldn't feel right for for them to be super close in the way that, say, Dick and Tim are (unless we saw a lot of trust and relationship building between them), but at the same time, there is part of me that kind of wants them to have that older sibling bond (except Jason is closer in age to Tim than he is to Dick sooo actually let's just leave older sibling things to Dick and Cass... not that Cass is much older than Jason though so LOL this is why Dick has to lone the oldest sibling thing by himself... which is funny because Dick is technically no longer the oldest sibling, he's a baby brother now... except Dick and Melinda's relationship really hasn't progressed much sooo you could say they share blood but don't consider each other family yet, in which case, Dick is still the oldest... I mean, regardless, Dick is the oldest sibling of the Waynes... god why did they have to make all of this so difficult 😫).

another fun angst potential that i don't see enough in fic is the fact that dick initially doesn't even like damian. he gives the "go ahead" to make damian robin, but it's initially alfred's idea! dick is grudgingly mentoring a kid that he doesn't even like and i need people to make more fics about this because the angst potential for both him AND damian once he realizes that he DOES care about damian (hopefully under whumpy circumstances muahaha) is literally gold. AND EVEN BETTER IF DAMIAN IS AWARE

okay but can we talk about dick for a second. specifically dick blaming himself for what happened to jason.
my personal headcanon is that as a kid, jason was a massive lord of the rings fan. dick, obviously as an older brother, used to read jason lotr (also harry potter, percy jackson, typically fantasy stuff for younger kids) and would do big dramatic voices and actions so jason could sleep easier.
after jason went missing, dick would fall asleep sat in the same chair he would read to him in, book in hand. internally apologising for ever, ever letting him get hurt. dick kept his room exactly the same, only to find out that after he moved to bludhaven, bruce had emptied it.
they argued, horribly. dick expressed the self-blame and the blame on bruce, crying, yelling, and only finally leaving when he was too emotional to articulate properly.
the night jason came back, dick was somehow the last to know.
jason disappeared for a short while after his first appearance as red hood. in his first time staying at the manor since returning, a few months later, dick visits the manor for the first time and finds his little baby brother redecorating the room that dick had spent so long crying inside of over the last few years.
there was tears. from dick, mostly, and jason always denies that he cried (he did) when him and dick hugged for the first time in years.

For all my hipster pretensions, I do love Hunter. I also love the hyperspecific intricate, intense, and often erotic relationships everybody’s agent OCs have with him. It got me thinking about him and my own agent, and honestly?
He disappointed her. Deeply, and personally.
Like, okay, despite her misplaced fealty to the Empire, this is a woman who's had almost exclusively bad interactions with Force users in both camps. Her Sith grandfather belittled and tormented her for the crime of being born without her sister's powers. Her mother, his apprentice, only risked enough interference to keep her alive. When the same sister she was always compared to abandoned her and escaped to the Jedi (who then never let them contact each other again), Lyde only narrowly avoided being sent to Korriban in her place.
And then when she made it to Intelligence, Darth Jadus maimed her, compromised the missions of her employers, and critically endangered the Empire. One of her first missions as a faux-turncoat to the Republic was tracking down and incapacitating a fallen Jedi. The protégé she gained on Hoth? Another semi-Force sensitive, hiding from the Sith. Sith meddling dissolved Imperial Intelligence; Sith infighting ate up resources and cost Imperial lives on Corellia.
And, of course, the Dark Council called for her brainwashing, and a former Jedi abused it.
Sure, like Hunter said, the Star Cabal was never recruiting. There was no incentive for him to care about gaining Lyde's allegiance when he already had the remote to her shock collar, so to speak. But, holy shit, he had no clue how many concessions, how much sympathy to his cause he could have wrung out of the woman designated Cipher Nine, if he hadn't made her his whipping girl. If things had gone juuust a little bit differently, Hunter might've turned over the Black Codex, implored her to take care of it with his dying breath - and she might have fucking done it. Nobody, not the SIS, not Sith Intelligence, not even her former ImpInt superiors would have ever seen that data ever again.
But Hunter wasn't that sort of guy. What sort of guy he was learned Cipher Nine's codeword and used it every chance he got. He didn't have to pretend to play nice with her like with his other colleagues, so he made a point of whisking her brain like cake batter, and acted like it was the funniest thing in the world.
When the Dark Council pushed for Lyde's brainwashing, and when Ardun Kothe used it to control her, she was furious - but she wasn't offended. They're trained and powerful Force-sensitives, and as far as she's concerned it's in their nature to sting.
Hunter, though?
Hunter was a fellow frog.

How Tim Drake stole the show and lost millions for a good cause....... aka getting laid
Part 2
Kon didn't really expect this, to feel so powerful he's fucking Superboy after all but being with Tim watching the envy and just the pure power his boyfriend walks with it's hot and addictive.
The entire gala is practically watching. Tim's arm which is decorated by a Rolex that they picked up today which cost more than Kon has ever seen. It feels good like he deserves it and for now he feels like kryptonite couldn't even touch him.
"How you feeling baby, you look a little flustered." Tim's whispers in his ear voice dripping with sex.
"I'm good but I have to ask is this like you, I don't know how to explain but is this a show?" He feels a little ashamed asking like he is questioning how much Tim loves him but this doesn't seem like Rob.
"Kon, everytime I see you it takes every bit of training I have from bending you over. Right now I want to show all of Gotham who you belong to." He looks straight into his eyes licking his lips.
"I was a Drake before a Wayne this will always be where I belong I want you to know every bit of me. I don't know the cost of a bannana but I know that the woman standing across from us is wearing ten thousand dollar heels that are out of season. This is me and I'm proud of who I am, who you are." He can't help the smile that slips onto his face.
"I didn't mean anything by that I just needed to know this feels like a dream I feel like a queen and I just I love you sunshine I just needed to know." He shoots forward kissing Tim falling into his arms were he belongs.
It's feels like it last forever and not enough when Tim pulls away.
"Now as much as this is my gala and I would love to pull you into a closet and have my way with you My Air we need to go greet Bruce and my siblings so let's go."
Tim directs him over to where the entire batfamily stands looking like gods who are being disturbed by the lesser he especially sees Batman looking him up and down with what seems like disgust.
He wants to hide but he remembers he's on Tim's arm and nothing can happen to him when he's with Tim.
"It's amazing gala don't you think Bruce I decided to come a bit later than expected I was distracted had to pick a couple things up." Tim's voice drips with something he can't name.
He sees Jason and Damian also looking at him something in their eyes that makes Kon want to cry beg for his place as if they are kings and he's just the pathetic peasant asking for scraps. It sends a rush of anger and he does something that he hopes doesn't cause Sunshine to kill him.
"Daddy, You think we could go grab something I'm starving, we barley ate this morning you wouldn't let me out of bed." Giggling as he kisses the side of Tim's neck.
He looks straight at Bruce his face frozen the other bats not much better but Rob catches his attention eyes burning his voice comes out commanding.
"Of course Bruce I have more important matters to attend to good night see you at home." The arm that he somehow forgot for a moment wraps tightly around him leading over to the food and far away from judgemently Bats who seem to hate him.
-
Bruce thinks he should have just never gotten up today not only is his child causing him a migraine. He just heard said sons boyfriend call him a word that he can never hear again. Nevermind the recount of a sex act that he wishes he could bleach from his brain. Luckily his second oldest is always willing to distract him in his own twisted way.
"Am I the only one who feels like they are missing something, I know I tend to piss of Baby Bird but he seemed more high strung than usual." Jason mutters eyes calculating.
Dick doesn't hesitant to also insert himself of course giggling like a school girl.
"Oh you sweet summer children you at a Gala with Tim Drake and I love my baby brother but he's much like his name sake. He has a fair maiden and a love of precious gems this is Tim." Tone changing to an almost growl.
"You all looked at Kon like he wasn't worth anything and to Tim that's the one thing he loves more than anything you pissed off the dragon now I will be going to make my amends for not being more welcoming have fun." He throws over his shoulder making a beeline to Tim.
Bruce really wants a god damn drink.
