Use garment bags! When you do laundry! For sweaters and stuff! Turn them inside out too! Your nice clothes will stay nice sooo much longer!! Also stop using “fabric softener” and “dryer sheets”! Stop it right now!! You are destroying your machine and your clothes! Stop doing that! There are better ways!
Sincerely, a simple well-meaning girly who just loves fabric and textiles and clothing and wants to see them treated well and not destroyed

I’m sorry but what does doing laundry/playing mario cart means in larry context? I know it’s probably something s*xual but I want to know what exactly it stands for?
Hi, anon!
Doing laundry is from 'Friends'. It's what Monica and Chandler used to use as an excuse to their friends to go and hook up in secret. 1D was asked in an interview if they were going to be 'doing laundry' when they got back home after tour. Harry picked up on the metaphor from Friends and had a blast with it the whole interview.
Playing Mario cart is from the infamous Sugarscape interview where the interviewer asked H and L about their Mario cart strategy as a metaphor and as an excuse to ask them how they have sex with each other. Interview here.
They've also used 'playing FIFA' as a metaphor for having sex. Here.
So when larries say larry is doing laundry or playing mario cart or FIFA it's basically saying they're having sex.

An Executive Dysfuctionists guide to laundry.
Dealing with dirty laundry
Two hampers! One for the bedroom one for the bathroom or wherever you might strip for some reason!
OR two hampers one for dirty one for meh it’s only kinda dirty
When you take off clothes it goes in a hamper right away.
Check your pockets before you take off your clothes you are not going to check when you load it into the wash
Doing laundry
Washers have different load capacities, if it’s old or beat up do two thirds or what you think it should be able to handle, it’s better to do multiple loads of different laundry than to open it up and find your clothes didn’t get clean all the way
It’s ok to mix colors with whites usually
Do NOT mix brand new jeans and other stuff jeans and jeans is ok but unwashed denim has a habit of leeching a little. Also some cheap clothes might bleed if you don’t have color catchers it’s best to wash them with their same color.
Check labels of stuff to know if the dye might bleed
Unless something is like truly so gross that soap isn’t going to cut it on it’s own wash all your shit on cold. Hot water can shrink clothes, is more likely to make the color seep out, and WILL wreck shirts with decals.
Always wash stuff with decals/graphic tees on cold and inside out, inside out is less important than cold.
Don’t machine dry bras
Also you should rotate bras to keep them in good shape and wash them after every 5-7 wears
It’s ok to machine dry most sweaters/pullovers but only on lower heats, I wouldn’t risk a regular heat dry cycle on something you aren’t sure about
You do not need fabric softener
Folding laundry
Don’t fold everything all at once
Make a pile for stuff that hangs and a pile for underwear and socks and fold the rest, while folding put stuff that goes in the same place next to each other
Listen to a podcast/music/YouTube while you do it so you don’t get bored and give up
It’s ok to take a break but I wouldn’t take a break halfway through folding, fold everything you need to and then take a quick break before putting it away.
If you don’t have an iron that’s ok but stuff will look best if you iron it, if you want to/care about avoiding wrinkles take stuff out of the dryer and fold/hang it right away. If you let it sit for a long time it WILL get wrinkly, you can minimize by a quick dry cycle and then take it out and fold/hang right away.
Sit on the floor. Floor time is good time.
Getting rid of clothes you don’t wear
Can you remember the last time you wore it? If not donate
Is it falling apart? If so, can you use it to make something in the next week or so? I’d not trash it
Can’t remember the last time you wore it but it was a gift/ you’re attached to it. Put it near the front of your clothes and if you pass over it every time for a week, it’s ok to get rid of it.
Don’t wear it because it’s formal? Do you think you could style it and feel confident? If not donate you aren’t going to want to wear it to a party if you don’t feel confident in it.
Have a bunch of sentimental camp shirts/graphic tees that don’t fit or you can’t wear anymore. You can get a vacuum seal bag and store them using very little space until you have enough saved for a quilt. I have a whole bunch that I don’t want to get rid of but can’t/won’t wear. It’s ok to keep some things if you have a plan for how to use them.
That’s all I have feel free to add more! :)

So, if you know me, you know that I generally have a fairly tidy house. It is a mental health thing; I do not thrive when there’s a lot of clutter and I REALLY don’t thrive when there’s a lot of dirt. Sensory overload! Abort!
BUT it took me three hours this evening to get MOST of my fairly tidy house ready for the house cleaners to come tomorrow. If I had been trying to do this while BabyTea was awake, it would easily have taken twice as long. I still haven’t attended to my office or my bedroom, because those are spaces for me (and therefore I don’t get much time in either), and I haven’t vacuumed the upstairs since the LAST time the marvelous wonderful house cleaners were here.
So if you are feeling like cleaning is taking a really long time and it’s exhausting: you’re right! It is exhausting and it DOES take a really long time and if you’re the primary doer of these things in your relationship, it’s also mostly invisible labor, because people only notice when it’s NOT done.
But it is work, it is labor, and it is (to varying degrees) essential support for your household.
