Elijah’s your closest friend who likes to consider himself your best-friend. And that may be true but that doesn’t mean he has to follow you everywhere and be your shadow. And you’ve definitely told him this before!
He insists he has to protect you since the crime rates had suddenly exceeded the estimated rates. It was because of him hurting people in his way that wanted to be with you but you didn’t have to know that!
He was basically your tough looking best-friend that would dutifully watch over you as if you were his property that he needed to take care of.
The reality was that he was your property, he was your puppy, he was all yours.
You were the one patching him up after he sunk his canines into another guy who pissed him off. Elijah had heard him talking about you, in way that immediately made him throw the hardest and quickest punch in his god damn life.
No way was he going to let a disgusting pervert speak about you as if you were an item. You were a god compared to that low life, you were a beauty who only deserved the best.
“I just don’t get why you get into so many fights. Seriously, do you not feel any pain right now?” You glared in frustration as you wrapped his bloody knuckles and iced his bruised cheek quickly afterwards.
“Nope! You should’ve seen the guy I fucked up though, heard he’s in critical condition” Elijah’s shit eating grin was bright and big like always.
“Get into another one and I’m not letting you follow me around anymore” You grumbled. His grin was immediately turned into a worried frown.
“H-hey! Don’t say that. You don’t really mean that right?” He whined, ears drooping at even the idea of not being able to stand next to you.
“Well, if you get into another one you’ll see whether I’m being truthful” You got up, collecting the items you used to clean and wrap him up. You walked out the bathroom to go put the things back in their rightful place.
“Listen! I won’t get into another I swear! And if I do then.. umm you can punish me! Just not in any way that would prevent me from protecting you” He stuck close behind you, helping you put the items that back on the higher shelf.
“Deal, I’ll just have to find a different way to punish you instead” You closed the cabinet after stocking the taken items. “Okay!” He happily followed you afterwards.
Elijah didn’t get into anymore fights after that, he did have a few scuffles that almost turned into it but he would always walk off before it did. He had to behave or else you’d stop hanging out with him!
Every-time he relayed how he walked away, he would get head-pats and treats like his favorite snack or opportunities to snuggle with you. That was probably his favorite treat!
But being in between your legs as the two of you watched something on your phone was his absolute favorite. He was a big boy, but he still managed to sneak in between your thighs every time the two of you hung out.
His wagging tail pressed under him would still run for miles at an hour like it always did when you were close to him. His blissful face as he watched the show only revealed more of his happiness to be your best-friend.
And he used to be satisfied with that! But now he wants more than that, and he can only patiently wait for you to realize you like him the same way he loves you.
