Being asexual and possibly aromantic but also being a huge shipper and hopeless romantic is such a wild experience ngl. I'm always freaking out about my favorite ships and giggling internally reading ship fics, getting invested in characters finally kissing or reading about their pining and their love and I think "I want what they have!!"

But then sometimes you have a slamming realization that your sweet shipping scenarios you imagine in your head look totally different irl and that you are extremely aspec.

One time I went down a YouTube rabbit hole and stumbled across Vsauce's "Why Do We Kiss?" video and let me tell you. When I saw that stock video footage of two people kissing each other I was a little flabbergasted lmaooo

actually I love Tentoo and he is the Doctor and it was the only ending for Rose that worked and it is a huge gift to be able to have the man she loves grow old with her, they were always heading for that, y'all be quiet. I 100% understand the angst but it's okay, they're okay, good ending-

#did you want her to...not end up with the doctor?#she ended up with the doctor. she ended up with the doctor and they get to AGE together #they get to have a real honest relationship the way they both always genuinely wanted #it's hard that the full time lord version has to carry on without her but that is the way that character's story ALWAYS goes #the doctor does not get to keep ANYONE. it would be a different show if he did #meanwhile there is a version of that same face of his - the one that was MADE for love? particularly born out of love for ROSE? the one 1/2 #2/2 that always wanted a FAMILY? and stability? and a normal life? the tenth doctor longed for that specifically because of rose #now he gets to have it AND be part-human so he doesn't have to watch her get old. he gets old WITH HER #and they're canonically growing their own Tardis so you don't even have to be sad that they're not adventuring in time and space as usual #because they ARE. it's the kindest ending for either character. and if the full time lord hadn't left without either of them-#-he would have had to lose them eventually. lose Rose because she's human? hello? painful? but instead he was selfless and left her-#-with a proper happy ending. which she CHOSE to have so you can't be like “he tricked her!” she chose to kiss one of them and it was Tentoo #they are the same man. Rose won in this scenario.#and I GET IT I am with Billie Piper I think it will always feel a little off that she was left with Tentoo and not the full time lord #I understand. it still makes me a little sad. but I know it's a good ending writing-wise. really the ONLY ending.#yes I know about the popular idea of Immortal!Rose or Bad Wolf Rose or whatever and that's cute and all BUT - it's not a GOOD thing #it's not PREFERABLE to be immortal. Rose doesn't want to live forever. she wants to be with the man she LOVES forever.#she doesn't want to not die or adventure for all time. she wants to be there to hold his hand. and when Tentoo is born she gets THAT!#Immortal!Rose is tragic. the Doctor would not wish the burden of immortality on the woman he loves HELLO #anyway #I ship timepetals. that includes Tentoo/Rose. because he is the doctor #so there #I have more thoughts on Tentoo specifically but I digress #maybe if provoked in an Ask or something idk #doctorrose #timepetals #opinion piece #tenrose #tentoo #handy

I know everyone likes to make fun of Ezra for believing Maul, but I honestly really liked that, because. Like. He's been working so hard to learn to trust people again. His new-found family is teaching him how to open up and how to let himself love others without being too afraid of losing them to connect

And he doesn't immediatly trust Maul, which shows that even if his trust issues are much better now, he's still not stupid and knows to be careful around strangers, especially if you found them inside a Sith Temple

But. Maul shows and tells him what he wants to see; he acts kind with him, reassures him when he's in doubt, and manipulates Ezra (who is a CHILD) into beliving in him so he could get what he wanted

Then he betrays him, and by blinding Kanan, he proves Ezra's 'little me' right

#i actually think it's beautiful how he still keeps trying even after having been hurt so many times #and it's not even about maul hurting him. it's about maul hurting kanan #like if maul hadn't done that then ezra would've been perfectly fine w having him as a slightly evil friend that his entire family hates #part of the reason why i love ezra is because bc even though he's been betrayed #he still works to be better #he still fights for what's right #still helps others. he can and will jump in the middle of the battlefield to save a stranger because that's who he is #and he always trusts his family to watch his back #he's been tempted by the dark side so many times and yet he's still “dark side? never heard of it”#and even when he DOES use the dark side. he gets better. he realices that what he's doing is wrong and GETS BETTER #ezra's world was violently taken away from him when he was only a child #he lived on the street for years with nothing but himself. he learned to never trust anyone and to always think for himself #he couldn't afford to help others (unless it wasn't TOO dangerous and he could get smth out of it) because he can't put himself in danger #he learns to forget his parents's beliefs #then the ghost crew comes along and they show him that world again #and now that he knows it he will never leave it again #star wars #star wars rebels #sw rebels #swr #ezra bridger #darth maul #star wars meta #sw meta #twilight of the apprentice #avis' post

there's something so comforting about artists you admire talking about their own struggles and insecurities

#txt #was watching supereyepatchwolf's video on chainsaw man again and listening to fujimoto express regret about things he didnt learn #and how he's clearly envious of his peers is so... comforting?#i think about my own strengths and flaws and often times i get so frustrated with my shortcomings #im not good at drawing feet; my backgrounds are purposefully simplistic and lack a lot of detail; sometimes my designs have a tendency to #overlap or feel very 'safe' in terms of what i really want to do #its why; despite my love for clowning on media and animated works. i never want to feel like its from a place of malice #the joy of art is always seeing those little mistakes and nuances. its also noticing the achievements other creators have made that you #still lack #even for a certain hell-based show i love to poke fun at for its many. many issues. its undeniable how incredibly passionate the work is.#and i do respect anyone who is willing to get their flawed media out there (myself included)#i see stuff about people calling me their inspo or how flattered they are when i compliment their work and its like. gee. i hold myself at #such a high bar and even still im always surprise when people tell me how much my work moved and changed them #i really love writing just little fun things that i just dont really see anyone else touching and its kind of fun how despite my own #personal grievances with my own flaws and mistakes #people really do find things that they love within them.#anyways I know this is getting long but I’ve just been getting sentimental abt the creation of art #sometimes people make fun of me for love of drawing women and lesbians and bugs and so on #and while I will never let me deter me from my process. sometimes it does get to me #but then I remember that I love doing this and could ever see myself holding back #and knowing despite how other people feel. does lime ever cry about anything or is angry more of his emotion? cause in all the childhood limochi comics mochi seems to be more the overflowing emotional one and lime is the more repressed on even back then. does that change at all ?

good catch!!! youre correct little mochi was VERY much the cry easy child. even if it was a little inconvenience or when she was angry the tears would flow!! not that she was a whiny brat but any time she got upset she couldnt stop the tears lol

and yes lime channels his negative emotions into anger. baby lime was very "haha REAL men dont cry!!!" type and even as he got older he recognizes "okay yeah everyone cries no big deal hahah" but theres still that underlying mindset. that being said hes a very dry anger type, so it takes a lot to actually get tears to come out, usually the only people hed ever cry for or to is his family + mochi.

the only time we actually SEE him cry is whatever the point is where all his pent up resentment about mochi leaving all of them without any word or warning comes out!! and as SOON as his eyes start watering he just freezes he cant even get anymore words out once he gets to that point

(and actually tried to up and run once the tears started but mochi wouldnt let him. and thats the only time we see lime cry -w- )

#he does NOT like crying #mochi cant help it #she gets a hell of a lot better at emotion control as she gets older though #but if she doesnt watch herself closely or turn it off in time that highly emotional person is still burried deep #theres several times when she started getting VERY emotional and then just. turns it off #you see the switch flip from wet anger to just. nothing #and lime goes (dont do that. dont fucking turn your heart off when youre talking to me)#its a skill a witch is taught growing up. to just turn all that stuff off on the outside so nothing shows #and lime can tell when she starts doing this #anyway. thanks for asking i miss talking abt my kids!!!!!#but lime was never the crying type to begin with #anyone remember that post about dry anger vs wet anger? thats lime and mochi respectively #he obviously cries at very sad things like loss of a loved one #but thats never like. screaming crying wailing. its very quiet sadness for him #i think baby mochi would cry if she saw a goat that was too cute

I think what is missing with 4-sided Dive that Talks Machina had was a third party to have those character discussions with. It's not the same with a fellow PC. Also someone with interviewing abilities, sometimes I feel like they meander so much.

And I do like to watch them talk, I do watch old episodes of AWNP, fireside chat, etc, but for discussing the game/campaign I think the mechanics of it muddles with the flow.

I personally feel no value is added from the tower of inquiry or the cup questions, though I don't mind the game playing at the end since at this point who had their curiosity satisfied can simply leave, but answering while playing which they tried doing at least once I watched didn't work at all.

Edit: Btw when I say no value is added I mean the format (being in a cup, pulling from the tower) and not the questions themselves.

#and. idk about y'all. but the broom bit just goes over my head #does anyone actually find that funny?#i can see some of them either don't want or don't like 'hosting'#them reading off the teleprompter also ruins the mood #i wish there was someone prepared to guide them through these conversations #maybe not dani bc she's prone to adding her own insights. which i like! but not in a host #SOMEONE TO CONTROL SAM #i *love* him but he derails so much #anyway. Inside Man mini review

So I just finished watching inside man (the one by Steven Moffat) and I have been reading all the reviews of it on here and on other sites.

and I honestly loved it (mostly because of the actors but still), the suspense was pretty great, acting was terrific, plot was decent, relatively likeable (and if not, at least semi relatable) characters.

the one thing though is that I found, which lots of people seem to disagree with, is the way that Mary Watling and Harry Watling were portrayed throughout the whole ordeal and how they were shown to deal with their emotions. I found it incredible

the way that Mary reacted; trying to find a sense of normalcy in a situation that was the opposite of normal, keeping what seemed like a calm exterior to try and keep them all from imploding with everything going on. The occasional emotional explosions when she couldn’t take it anymore.

I found it to be a very true show of what extenuating circumstances can do to someone (ie. having your sons math tutor locked in your cellar because she thinks your son is a p3d0) and the lengths people will take to have some kind of control over their lives (doing normal things to alleviate guilt and terror)

The same goes with Harry Watling (aka the vicar), though his is shown more as a delayed reaction.

it’s almost as if he doesn’t truly realize what he’s done and what’s happening, or atleast he’s ignoring it pretty damn well. He doesn’t try to keep it normal (he knows it’s nowhere near normal) or keep peace so to speak; more than anything he just shuts down.

he barely speaks with anyone and when he does he shuts them out just as quickly. Using his title as vicar as moral high ground, saying “I couldn’t have done this, I’m too good for that”, using it as a shield against the reality of the situation. And comforting others (mostly), to again show the moral high ground that he has claimed.

It shows a different approach people can sometimes take when dealing with such things (though similar to the other ways); which can lead to people entirely shutting down and avoiding the world to try and alleviate guilt (and any other emotions they may be feeling), leading to lashing out at anyone who tries to help (no matter how misguided).

No one in this show is truly a good person, but they are still people and people will react in a million different ways to different scenarios.
