i friggin love them, but alas, i cannot keep them. i need the money by Friday for rent TuT and my last paycheck wasn’t as much as i thought it was going to be so...

each one is $90 and comes with a high res version of the images here PLUS a transparent background version without color-altering overlays, for better color-picking.

If you throw in an extra $30, I’ll make up their Dungeons & Dragons character sheet for you, with original class I imagined, stats, spells, traits, background, all the good stuff, all ready in a PDF to start playing at Level 6.

1. Cadmael - The Sun

This mighty warrior, dedicated to the Sun, praised for his physique, sense of honor, and powerful presence, has seen several battlefields and left them with nary a scar on his skin. His gossiping contemporaries equate this with divine blessing, the favor of the heavens well-fitting his golden armor, and accept him for this heroism despite his Infernal heritage.

2. Selene - The Moon

The Night Mother, deaconess of the Abbey of Lunar Grace, takes in any lost soul who finds themselves stranded on the doorstep of the convent. Especially young girls, like Selene was when she arrived. In an effort to counter her devil’s blood, she was shepherded into the Abbey’s flock and raised studying as a fellow sister, blessed by the Moon.

3. Rune - The Stars

Others intend to get lost. Rune was sheltered by their druidic parents, who would meet with their clan circle and dance under the light of the stars, by which they knew how to travel across the land without fear of growing lost. They’re fascinated by the stories the stars can tell, the guidance and wisdom they hold - not to mention their beauty. They wish to chart the heavens, and perhaps, even write some of their own tales about the figures they see in them.

[2023] TOP 20 PODCASTS ON AO3 FOUND IN FANDOMS > OTHER MEDIA

To make this ranking, all series titles in Other Media were copy-pasted to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, and then manually filtered since not all podcasts were marked as such.

The numbers under each rank indicate how much they rose/fell in the rankings based on last year's (Oct. 24, 2023) rankings, which can be found here. The gray numbers in parenthesis indicate how much fanworks it gained since last year.

The data for this year and last year's rankings were taken while logged in, so lcoked fanworks are included in the count.

A few web series like Critical Role and Dimensions 20 released audio-only versions of their works too, but I left them out since they were listed was a web series on ao3 and more known as one too.

Cabin Pressure has also been left off the list this time since its podcast format was only released in 2019, years after it aired on the radio.

All nonfiction podcasts have also been excluded (Not that there were many), because with RPFs, it’s hard to tell if the fic in question is just based on the podcast or because of the things the person has done outside of it. Last year, I accidentally included The Misfits in the list since I didn't realize from its description that it was nonfiction.

The Two Princes (Podcast) ranks 21st in the rankings this year, and actually ranked 20th last year when the rankings are adjusted to exclude Cabin Pressure and The Misfits.

The College Tapes is actually a spinoff of The Bright Sessions.

"Hunt" part 1. My tav Revna and daddy Halsin. Rev is a spore Druid/urchin wood elf (my favorite kind of Druid) they have horns due to spending the last years of their life living in isolation away from civilization, adopting the likeness of goats and cervines in the heart of the forested mountains. Such is their love for these animals they decided to keep the horns and the singularly colored eyes (also, they miss the weight on their head when not wearing them) Decided to make them a genderless beast because, hear me out, a shapeshifter being connected to nature n’ living away from human costumes studying fungal behavior. What would a being like that need a damn gender for? Nothing, the answer is nothing."

The quality of D&D actual play shows has only steadily increased over time. Every player is better than when they started, every DM is better, every member of each production crew is better, the editing and sound design in the podcasts is better, the encounter design is better, etc… I absolutely love the stuff from 5+ years ago and it’s only a testament to the people involved that they’ve made things better. We’re living at the best possible time for D&D content and there’s enough variety that you can find something to your taste. And that’s just great.
