I hate beards and I want to tell you to shave yours but maybe some nice Big Person will pick you up, put you on a table, and forcibly shave you. Maybe get a friend to stop you from wiggling around.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a general rule of thumb I don't reply to hate comments (i figure just because some fools want to waste their time doesn't mean i gotta) but I get a particularly large number of hate comments on my beard so I figured I'd address it.
Believe it or not, I am afab transgender! So it was hormone therapy that blessed me with the beard that I have, which is often called "pube-y" and ugly by cis men on the internet.
But in the trans world, mine is quite impressive and glorious! And I love it tremendously ^^ It may not be as thick and bushy as that of a cis man, but I haven't exactly made it my mission to be like them. I set out to wear dressed with a beard on my face, and I've suceeded in my gender goals ^^ So know that any further negative comments on my appearance will be deleted and reported, and have an excellent day!
Queer and kind regards,
Elliot (they/them)

A friendly reminder to my chronically ill buddies: READ YOUR RX INSERTS!
I know you’ve been taking that Rx for years but every time you get a new medication or are having weird symptoms please look over your Rx inserts. It’s so easy to forget super vital pieces of information about a medication after you’ve been taking it. Like maybe your new symptoms are on the side effects list. Maybe you shouldn’t be taking that medication with food afterall. Maybe you are supposed to be monitoring certain blood tests regularly.
I know you’ve got a lot going on and brain fog on top of it but no body is going to look out for these things except for you 🫶

Since a very young age we are imbued this belief that, in order to make our lives meaningful, we need to become extraordinary, to achieve many great things. Publish a book that becomes a best-seller, climb Mount Everest, become a professional footballer, be the best at our jobs, find the cure to a disease, raise a family of other overachievers...

About
FAQ
Rules/Policy
If something is considered a major trigger (abuse, ableism, transphobia, homophobia, etc) then PLEASE add a trigger warning.
You can use the ask/confession box to send both confessions and questions.
Please mark (clearly) if your confession or question is in multiple asks
The submission box is generally best for submissions, questions, or confessions that are in a longer format.
Do NOT ask for a diagnosis, nobody (the one person running this blog) is professionals and anyone commenting or reblogging is most likely not a professional
Please be remindful and respectful of all disabilities
(Extra information will be added if needed)

i wrote this in the notes of another post originally and am copy + pasting it here because im right but "tell the cops nothing, tell the doctors everything" is such a stupid ass fucking abled take. doctors engage in policing idk how to explain to yall that some people cannot in fact just tell doctors everything without it putting them at risk
like im not gonna go into the myriad of ways this is bs but like a quick example is i cant tell my doctors about my substance use issues because if i get that listed on my medical records it will actively endanger me. It will impact how I'm treated in emergency situations and will get me labeled as "drug seeking" when i try to get other issues dealt with.
i dont say this to scare people but because this is actually important information for people to have. if a medical professional claims this isnt an issue, they are NOT "one of the good ones". they are either straight up lying or theyre utterly unaware, which is frankly not better. doctors are cops. never forget it
like YES tell ur doctor abt being sexually active but stop saying "tell the cops nothing and the doctor everything" before i start killing in cold blood
I KNOW THE ORIGINAL QUOTE. This is about how people misquote it, as well as how they view the phrase as meaning "all medical professionals". ALSO! emts are not the neutral figures you think they are. please stop spewing your lack of understanding on the topic all over my tags, its embarrassing.
finally, THIS POST IS ABOUT DRUGS. FIRST AND FOREMOST IT IS ABOUT DRUGS. THIS WAS WRITTEN BY AN ADDICT. the way yall are talking about addicts and drugs users in the tags is so fucking dehumanising. you are part of the problem. Id suggest non addicts shut their traps please and thank you.

Hi, do you know of any shops that sell mobility aids designed for little people or that are at least friendly?
Hello!
You can find an extensive list of adaptive products by both Little People of Ontario and Little People of America in addition to their other community-based resources!
Motion, Canada is somewhere I'd recommend for mobility devices - they've got a wide range and are able to customize based on height and such.
Note that a lot of disability aids will be marketed as gadgets
I'm personally a big fan of decorating my mobility aids, and Etsy's a great place for that :)

Here’s the plan…
MON/TUE/WED_appointments or chores
THUR/FRI_recovering from Methotrexate
SAT_trainer & demo dog is going to help us work on the resource guarding issue
SUN_Hubbins helps with dock diving & bath
This is the schedule that’s been working for us. I’m so grateful to be able to do activities again but I have to be super careful not to over do it. Having a steady schedule makes it easier to allocate my spoons, meet Mandana’s needs and appointments are a lot easier to manage.

From here on out, I will be adding tl;dr at the end of blog posts for accessibility.
Many with this condition suffer from severe brain fog and cognitive dysfunction, which can make it difficult to concentrate to read longer paragraphs.
If there's other ways I can make this blog more accessible, please reach out!

Disability justice includes those who are disabled due to their own actions. You are not here to be blamed for what happened or why it did, you are here to receive love and support on your own journey.

You're disabled but you're still a lovely person! Emphasis on "but!" Because you're still awesome despite having a disability that we don't want to respect or acknowledge! 😚🤗🥰😚😙💖
