Cassiopea and Orion
Ellie had a plan. She promised she had one. This wasn't like when Clocky would sent her off on a mission through time with nothing more but a little note with a cryptic message on what to do.
Danny had given her clear instruction. Before one of her many travels to see the world, Danny, in his mid twenties and she in her late teens, had taken her aside once. Telling her about specific instruction she should follow, should she ever find herself in a moment of need, and Danny wasn't able to help her.
Well, now she was in that kind of situation. Amity Park was destroyed with no survivors. Vlads castle was no more. Both Dan and her got deaged, but Dan had to be put in a frozen state when he started to destabilize. And Danny, he had gotten captured by the GIW shoving her out of harms way and telling her to remember what he told her before.
Ellie was pretty sure Danny was telling her to follow the emergency instructions.
So here she was now. In Gotham. Keeping to the shadows and trying to find her way around.
No one ever bothered to tell her how hard it was to navigate through a city like Gotham. You would think it would be easy to find some guy running around at night in an armored spandex furry costume.
But no, here she was, in a random alley. In a city, Danny had specifically told her to avoid it unless the emergency instruction came into play. Maybe she should just steal a map.
She was contemplatingly staring at a gas station for that until she noticed a shadow jumping over the roof tops. It took her only a second to decide on her next action. Ellie was pressed on time after all.
"Hey you!" She shouted loudly flying up to follow that shadow. "Wait up!"
Thankfully, the shadow listened and stopped on the next rooftop toward her. She insanity noticed it tensing. Now, she noticed that the shadow was a kid. He looked small, and Ellie figured he was probably around 11 or 12.
"You are one of the Bees and Birds, right?" She questioned once she floated a bit closer. Also the kid tensed up.
"You mean Bats and Birds." The kid clicked his tongue at her, crossing their arms.
"Bees, Bats, who cares. My question is you know the big bad bee, right?" She waved the kid of, she had more pressing matter than getting their animals right. "I need to get a message to him."
The kid clicked their tongue once more, huffing and muttering something she couldn't hear. Probably talking to someone on a com. Either way, Ellie took his silence as a form of telling her to continue.
"Can you tell the big bad bee-" "Bat" "-the following?" She ignored the kid cutting in trying to get her message across and follow Danny's instructions to a T.
"Cassiopea is calling out to Orions Nursery before Rho dies to help her youngest."
There was long, drawn-out silence, and the kid was hissing something into coms. Ellie fidget with her finger nervously. Going through Danny's emergency instructions through her mind again until she hear a thud close to her and wirled around.
With wide blue glowing eyes, she looked up at the man dressed like a bat for a couple of seconds before taking on a defensive position. Eyes now narrowed at the man that was clearly studying her.
"I was under the impression that Phantom's youngest child was older. You appear to be no older than five."
"Yea well shit happened!" She shot back, still unsure if she could trust the man even if he mentioned Danny's hero alias. Her hands started to glow slightly as she prepared to attack in case things went back. But the man didn't appear to be phased by it. Not like the kid that was tensing up.
"You will be safe with us. But what happened to Phantom?"
Ellie eyes flicked over to the other kid that had now come closer to stand next to the bat guy before looking back to the big guy. She did not drop her stance yet. Still unsure of how much trust she can put here despite what Danny had told her, she had not yet heard the right response.
The man appeared to sense her distrust, as he kneeled to be on eye level with her. "Jupiter and Rho Cas will not be harmed. Orion gave Cassiopea his word."
Finally, Ellie relaxed, dropping her defensive stance but still watching the man with narrowed eyes. She hesitated a short moment before carefully saying her next words, hoping the man knew enough to k ow the grave meaning behind them.
"Phantom lost his haunt."

Childhood friends to lovers ; requested by @starlightcat04!
Duke’s grandmother lived in Illinois when he was a kid, years before he and his parents were captured by the Joker and the news of it sent her to a hospital that she didn’t leave until Death arrived for her. But before all that, before his life upended and tore itself to shreds in front of him, Duke used to visit her in the summers.
His parents didn’t want to leave Gotham, but they also didn’t want him to grow up there amid all the crime and rogue attacks. The solution was to drive down to his grandmother’s house, suitcase in the trunk, and stay with him there for a few days before they returned to make sure no one broke into their house.
She lived in the outskirts of Amity Park, a town smaller than Gotham and much, much quieter. The change in scenery always blew his mind, and he spent most of his childhood summers running around the woods, accidentally scaring hikers.
There were other kids in Amity, further in towards the suburbs, but he never got along with most of them, too strange, only here for a month or so, and carrying an awareness and sense of danger that all Gothamites had.
He didn’t really have friends in Amity Park, except for one: Danny Fenton, local outcast due to his scientist parents'… everything. His only friend, a boy named Tucker, would always be gone in the summers as well, visiting family in Chicago and Pennsylvania.
They gravitated towards each other, as lonely kids tend to do.
Danny helped make those summers fun, full of laughter and skinned knees and smuggled tech from the Fenton household to mess around with. They shared stories of their lives, comparing Amity Park to Gotham, arguing over superheroes and getting distracted each time by how cool heroes were.
The last summer he ever went to Amity Park, Danny had gotten his first cell phone and eagerly gave Duke his number. Any time they weren’t together, they were texting until they fell asleep, phone still in hand.
The time they spent together was always limited, but Duke could swear that no one in the world knew him as well as Danny did.
He still misses him.
They still text and call when they can, but it’s gotten hard over the past few years. Duke was caught up in foster care and searching for his parents and being part of the We Are Robin gang and then becoming the Signal. Danny, from what he’s shared with Duke, went through similar things of recovering from a lab accident and then having his town be overrun with ghosts, of all things, which had the government get involved and cause problems.
The few times they were able to find a quiet night where they could just talk and be Duke and Danny again were nights he always treasured, though they left an ache in his chest when it was over.
It’s just been so long since they’ve seen each other in person. He doesn’t even know what Danny looks like anymore! And, sure, he could always ask for a picture, but it feels awkward. They know what they looked like before. And they’ve heard each other’s voices, know the basics of what’s going on in each other’s lives…
They still know each other, but Duke is all too aware of the distance that’s grown between them.
“Duke, seriously, what’s got you spacing out so much?” Steph asks, pulling him from his thoughts.
He shrugs, smiling sheepishly. “Just thinking. Sorry about that. What were you saying?”
“I was saying,” she says, “That you should do a road trip. Or just like, travel around. Check out college campuses. Enjoy your last summer vacation of high school! Trust me, you’ll want the break before going into senior year.”
“Just because you’re two years older than me—”
“Excuse me for trying to impart my wisdom! See if I help you again when I’m older and wiser.”
“Sure, Steph,” he says, “Whatever you say.”
She squints at him. “What’s with that tone? I’m being helpful right now!”
“Mhm.”
“Geez. I should have let Dick talk to you. Anyways, I already told Bruce that you wanted to do this, so he’s agreed to fund it.”
Duke jerks upright in his seat, nearly falling out of it. “You did WHAT?!”
“You’re welcome,” Steph grins, unrepentant.
“Steph, come on. This is unnecessary. Isn’t it better for me to help out more in the summer? Train more, work with the team on stuff, you know, important things?”
“Duke.” Steph’s voice suddenly turns serious and he can’t help but give her all his attention. “Listen to me. Your life is more important. If Gotham survived when Bruce was the only cape around, then it’ll survive while you prioritize your life. And that means touring colleges to figure out where you want to go.”
“I could just stay here and go to GCU.”
Steph just stares at him, unimpressed, and he has to admit, “Yeah, you’re right. I’m not gonna do that.”
“Just enjoy traveling around, okay? And if you want someone to go with you…” she nudges him with her shoulder, repeatedly, very clearly hinting at something.
“I’ll be sure to ask Cass,” Duke says, and Steph rolls her eyes, but doesn’t deny that Cass would be a great travel partner.
Their conversation comes to a halt when an alarm on her phone goes off and she drops her head with a groan. She grabs her bag and takes off with a quick explanation that she has to get to class, one she hates but is determined to ace just to spite the professor, and in no time at all, Duke is alone again.
Without Steph providing him a distraction, Duke has nothing to do but read through his texts with Danny. It hasn’t been that long since they last talked; four days ago is nothing compared to the months of silence that went between them a few years ago. They’ve gotten better since staying in contact since then, and make sure to text at least once a week.
It’s not perfect, but it’s better than nothing.
He considers asking Danny where he’s planning to go. Maybe they could go to the same place together, live in the same apartment, be able to finally stick together. Not that it’ll ever happen; the more likely outcome is that they’ll be accepted into different universities, chose places closer to their respective homes, and still be far apart.
An idea begins to form in his mind.
They’ve had summers together before. Maybe they could have one more.
First, he needs to talk to Bruce.
He’s working from home, thankfully, typing away at a laptop in his office when Duke knocks on the door and pokes his head in.
“Duke,” Bruce smiles, pushes his laptop away. “Come in.”
“Hey. Steph said she talked to you about me traveling this summer?”
“Yes. She was very insistent that you go visit any universities that pique your interest. I’ve already agreed to fund everything, and I can take care of plane tickets and hotels as well.”
Duke nods, trying not to look too nervous. “Yeah, so about that. Could I travel with someone? Would that be cool? Or is this a thing for me only?”
Bruce blinks. “I promise cost is not an issue. Adding another person won’t be a problem. Who is it?”
“Ah, no one you know. He’s a childhood friend of mine who lives in Illinois, and I’d like to spend a summer with him again.”
“Who is it?”
Oh boy. Bruce is definitely going to find everything he can about Danny and his family and start interrogating Duke about him. But if that’s going to let him travel the country with Danny, then he’s more than willing to deal with it.
“Danny Fenton, from Amity Park. The town with the ghost problem.”
Bruce leans back in his chair. “I’ve heard of them. The League discussed investigating it when the news first got out, but Constantine warned us to stay away due to risk of possession. It seems that the local hero, Phantom, has it all in hand.” Bruce nods, already thinking deeply about his next steps. “Alright, I’ll need to do some research. And send me a list of the universities you’d like to visit so I can plan your itinerary.”
“Cool. Thanks, B.”
Duke leaves as quickly as he can after that, letting out a relieved breath  once he’s sure no one is around to hear it.
Step one is done.
Now for step two: communication.
duke: hey, are you free for a call anytime soon? danny: yeah! we can call now if u want :)
Well! That was way faster than he was expecting.
He all but sprints through the halls to get to his room and locks the door behind himself. It won’t do much to stop anyone from actually coming in, but it is a sign that he wants privacy. Once he’s sure no one is going to be listening in and interrupting, Duke pulls up Danny’s contact and hits the call button.
It rings twice before Danny’s picking up, greeting him with a cheerful, “Hey Duke! What’s up?”
“Hey Danny,” he replies, unable to help the way his voice softens with affection. “So, this is totally out of the blue, but if you could spend this summer going around the country with me, would you?”
“I mean, yeah, obviously. You know I’d do anything to spend more time with you! Why?”
Duke grins. While he was sure about what Danny’s answer would be, that didn’t stop him from worrying about a rejection. “Well. Bruce has offered to fund the entire trip and bring someone along.”
“Wait, seriously? You want me to go with you?”
“Who else? Dude, you know I love spending time with you, and I’ve missed you like crazy.”
“Oh my God, you’re serious. Duke! Yes, I want to be your travel buddy! Are you kidding me? In what world would I say no?”
“Hey, man, you can’t blame me for making sure. Are your parents going to be fine with that?”
Danny goes quiet, and Duke feels his heart drop. “Danny? Is something wrong?”
“No,” Danny says, followed by a bitter laugh. “They won’t care. I’ll just tell them I’m going traveling with a friend and that’ll be enough. They’re too busy to care much about what I do, these days. They probably won’t even notice that I’m gone, now that Jazz isn’t here to remind them that I exist.”
“How is Jazz, by the way? We could visit her.”
“She’s doing fine. Really loving Harvard. And I’d love that Duke. You’re the best.”
The mood of the conversation eases and they fall into the usual rhythm of catching each other up, chatting about their lives and any other thought that crosses their minds. It’s easy for the hours to slip away with Danny, and before he knows it, there’s a knock on his door as Alfred calls him for dinner.
He hangs up with a quick goodbye to Danny, along with a promise to send him the itinerary once it’s made.
Somehow, news of his summer plans get out by the end of the day. Which means Steph blabbed and feels no remorse about it. The next week of Duke’s life is overtaken by nearly every trying to help him plan and prepare for his trip, while lightly interrogating him about Danny. By the time he was heading off to the airport, agreeing to take one of Bruce’s smaller private planes which was piloted by a man who definitely wasn’t Jason going by the name 'Todd Jameson'. Of course not, that would be silly.
(Duke sighed very, very loudly when he saw Jason waving at him from outside the plane. He should have expected the guy to take advantage of Bruce needing a pilot and teasing him about Danny.)
He can’t bring himself to be too bother by it, though, when it means he’ll get to be with Danny again soon. Duke would pay any price to be with him again, so this is hardly anything.
They set off with a wave from Duke and Jason flipping the bird to the rest of the family. And then Jason is up in the cockpit, blasting his playlist of songs from musicals, and Duke is left to wait impatient for the next few hours until they reach Illinois.
The hours pass far too slow but also much too fast. Duke feels like he barely has time to prepare himself before they’re landing smoothly and Danny texts him to let him know he’s at the airport.
Jason sees him off before heading out to take a call from Roy, telling him to find his own way to his hotel. Duke barely pays him enough mind to say goodbye, grabbing his suitcase and hurrying into the airport, searching for the terminal Danny’s at.
He doesn’t find Danny first. Danny finds him and slams into him like a freight train. It’s only his training that keeps Duke from toppling over, dropping his suitcase to hold Danny. They cling to each other tightly, as if they might never see each other again. Danny’s got his legs wrapped around Duke’s waist like a koala, and Duke would be happy to carry him forever.
“I can’t believe you’re really here,” Danny murmurs into his ear. Duke shivers, holding him tighter, and smiles.
“Yeah. I know. Man, you don’t know how much I’ve missed you.”
“I think I can take a pretty good guess.”
Danny pulls away, dropping his feet back to the ground.
Duke is finally able to see Danny for the first time in years, and he’s pretty sure he stops breathing for a solid minute. Danny grew up fine. He’s got the bluest eyes he’s ever seen, and soft black hair that’s a little windswept and messy, and his grin is as bright and beautiful as always. For a moment, Duke wants nothing more than to kiss him.
Then Danny steps back and the thought fades.
“Ready to go? We’re going to UChicago first, yeah?”
“That’s the plan,” Duke says, falling into step with Danny as they make their way out of the airport. “Then a day just to hang out in Chicago before we head to Harvard.”
“Cool,” Danny grins. “Hotel first, though, right?”
“Yeah, man, catch up time is essential.”
Danny glances over at him, something unreadable in his eyes, but he smiles when he sees that Duke is already looking at him. “Let’s get going, then.”
Danny drives them in a car he apparently made himself, which explains why it’s a model Duke’s never seen before. It drives like a dream and Duke is very tempted to get Danny to make one for the Signal, maybe even wrangle up a contract to have him work with Batman Inc.
They spend the two hour drive chatting and laughing as if no time has passed at all since they last saw each other in person. All the years seem to fade away and they’re just Duke and Danny again, spending another summer together.
Check in goes smoothly, and the room Bruce has booked them is large, with two beds, a seating area, and a dining area. A glass door leads to a small balcony with two chairs and a fantastic view of the lake behind the hotel. They set both their suitcases on the luggage rack, and Duke only has time to turn to Danny to ask which bed he wants before he finds himself pressed up against the wall, Danny’s hands on his cheeks.
“Tell me if you don’t want this,” he whispers against Duke’s lips.
Duke doesn’t bother replying. He just leans in, closes the minuscule distance between them, and kisses Danny. It’s soft and sweet and everything he’s ever wanted.
Then Danny makes a small noise in the back of his throat and deepens the kiss. It goes from soft to heated and desperate and all consuming instantly. Duke slides his hands around Danny’s waist, pulling him impossibly closer, and thinks I never want to leave you again.
He’s completely lost track of time when Danny pulls back with gasp. They both take a few seconds to catch their breath, and Duke realizes his cheeks feel cold.
“Sorry,” Danny whispers, pulling his hands away. Duke catches them before they can go too far and holds them together.
“Sorry for what?”
“The frost,” he says, wiggling his fingers lightly. Duke glances down and sees that his fingertips are lightly coated in frost, spilling down his fingers.
“You have powers?”
“Came with the lab accident.”
“Man,” Duke says, “We have got to catch up properly. There’s a ton I haven’t told you.”
Danny laughs lightly, breathlessly. “Oh, for sure. But later. I’ve been wanting to kiss you for years.”
“Danny, baby, you can kiss me all night if you want.”
“I intend to,” he says with a bright grin.
What else could Duke do but lean in and kiss him again?
Nothing else exists in that moment except them. Duke is so, so glad he’s got the rest of summer to spend with Danny. He’s going to take him on dates in every city they visit.
They’ve gone years without seeing each other. Duke refuses to let it happen again. Whatever future awaits them, he’ll do all he can to keep Danny in it.
But for now, he’s got his cute childhood friend to kiss and all the privacy a hotel room can offer. He fully intends to make the most of it.
. . .

Ok normally i just send stuff like in asks but i liked my idea enough to attempt this so
Danny does a reveal to his parents and it goes badly his parents capture him and start dissecting and experimenting on him
Tucker and sam are out of town on family stuff and jazz is at college
So who notices Danny's gone for a few days? His rouges
So they meet up because what happened to the kid i mean they got free reign now but the kid was powerful where was he (definitely not because they were missing him no not at all)eventually they all decide to investigate the Fentons because they're theost likely candidates
So they investigate and find the horrific sight of danny pinned open with the Fentons experimenting in stuff about his body
So they do what any self respecting ghost would do they save him because ancients he's a kid no ghost deserves to go through that especially not a kid so they save the kid and take him to the realms to heal but he can't stay in the realms forever he's Human as well he needs human food and sunlight and water
So they Brainstorm who could look after the welp the 2 friends were out they lived in the same town as Fenton he'd be found in a second. Plasmus no just no they'd rather not
Then boxy give them a good idea what about a hero phantom was considered a hero wasn't he? So why not a hero they aren't in amity so the Fentons would have less chance to find them
But which hero who could help then walker has an idea the ghosts of criminal had talked as he was booking them there was a hero he killed he was freeing spirits who wanted revenge so it was decided danny would go to this hero
But they had to make sure this hero knew they were watching him so they made an entrance
-----------
The batfamily were having a family dinner it was as peaceful as a wayne family dinner could be: in short chaos
That changed when a swirling circle lazerus water opened up above the table releasing multiple figures who as one turned to jason
"Hero Redhood you have been chosen for a great mission." One of the figures said "your mission is to help the hero phantom" the 2nd figure declared "BUT BEWARE SHOULD YOU FURTHER HARM HIM YOU WILL FACE THE MIGHT OF THE BOX GHOST" the third figure yelled "if you harm the welp i will hunt the bat clans pelts" the large metallic figure threatened and with that the figures disappeared leaving behind a young boy with stitches all across his body

So i originally had this idea when i reblogged this post by @saphushia but i wanna just seperate it out as its own little prompt.
A quick context is that Danny seems to be roaming around Gotham like some homeless cryptid, kinda Bus to Nowhere style but with more vigilante interaction and casual offerings of first aid. And the batkids are keeping their adoption bait First Aid Cryptid(tm) secret from Batman.
One set of tags in the reblogs from @little-pondhead caught my attention
Tumblr media
I came up with both funny answers and an angsty answer for that "#why?" but here's the angsty one (though i promice i actually envision it to be more hurt/comfort with a lot of family fluff)
Actual Prompt⬇️⬇️
Something happens, maybe a reveal gone wrong, maybe he got capture by the GIW, maybe he lost Jazz and his parents somehow.
Whatever it is, it leaves Danny with a need to escaped to a new dimension which just so happens to end up being the DCU. He winds up in Gotham and is just trying to start over, easier said than done but at there's plenty of heros around so he doesn't need to go ghost and he can still patch up the local vigilantes to feed his obsession. He's just not up to being Phantom yet and he's still recovering from whatever happened in Amity, whether it be mentally or physically.
Plus these vigilantes are kinda fun to mess with. Danny can practically see the gears turning as they try to put together and make sense of his little "lore drops", that Red Robin almost reminds him of Wes in a way.
Its not like he really needs to hide anyways. There's no GIW here, no Anti-Ecto Acts, if it really comes down to it he could probably pass as meta and fall under those protection laws. Judging by Signal, Danny's pretty sure Batman's bluffing on the whole "hating metas" thing anyways.
It takes awhile before Danny actually does meet the big bat himself and the reaction he gets is nothing anyone was expecting.
You see theres one little detail danny couldn't have been warned about, and its that there just so happens to be a version of Jazz here.
Except this Jazz lost her Danny when they were in high school, as in full on dead and gone Danny, no halfas here, the portal simply did not work and it was just regular ole lethal electrocution that hit her little brother.
What if she grew up with a young Bruce somehow, whether it be because CPS took her from the Fentons after her Danny's death or Amity Park simply doesn't exist in the DCU making Gotham the city with the thinnest veil and thus where the Fenton's chose to settle down.
This Jazz is an adult in her 40s but was once a kid smart enough to go to Gotham Academy on scholarship (or maybe the Fenton's had enough money from patents?). A kid who took one look at young Bruce's grumpy little face and decided he needed a honest friend, one that wasn't after status or money.
This Jazz grew up being a secondary voice of reason for Bruce, ganging up with Alfred in their own crusade to enforce healthy habits on him in between their weekly tea sessions.
This Jazz lost her brother and could not only understand Bruce's resoning on a minor level but encouraged his planned "journey of self discovery and healing". (Though the bat costume he made when he came back was unexpected and she gave him a look to rival Alfred for it)
This Jazz grew up to be a social worker because if anyone had cared enough to take her away from the Fenton's sooner then her brother might've still been alive
This Jazz being the one Bruce calls when he first gets Dick because holy shit he has no idea what hes doing and "Jazz, i just became a father, help!"
This Jazz being a sort of aunt to all the Batkids and is a major influence that has led to their dynamics being similar to Wayne Family Adventures
Bruce goes pale and later calls Jazz after he finally gets a glimps/meets the so called "First Aid Cryptid" his kids have been obsessed with. Because this kid that he's looking at with the barely visible lichtenberg scars... that's a face he hasn't seen in little over 20 years, that's his old friend's long dead baby brother.
Bruce sees danny and his mind rapidly jumps to all sorts of possibilities. Is this a clone? Is this a trap? Are the Lazarus pits involved somehow? Time travel? He does consider a ghost but this kid is too solid and they're nowhere near the old dilapidated Fenton Works building
Eventually, down the line when they get the full story of Danny being from an alternate dimension, Jazz might try to adopt him. Which has potential to be unhealthy but i fully believe Jazz would be aware enough not to project her decades old grief on this Danny, who is so similar but so different to her brother.
(Because I think a Gotham raised Danny would've been similar to a young Jason in street smarts so this Amity raised Danny is noticeably different)
Danny on the other hand... not sure if i could say the same, especially if he just lost his Jazz before winding up in the DCU. But again, this is an adult Jazz in her late 40s with professional experience dealing with traumatized kids, and she'll do her best to help him through it
Im imagining Jazz and Bruce to have a more platonic friendship, maybe even see each other as family, but you could go with Parent Syndrome if you want
(And because i love to see other peoples ideas and opinions, @omnicrafts @ailithnight @atiyasnake @hdgnj @nelkcats @nerdpoe @im-totally-not-an-alien-2 @dcxdpdabbles. Sorry i tag you guys so much but i like your writing, im eager to offer ideas, and your posts have been major sources of joy while ive been hyperfixating on DPxDC)

DPxDC prompt idea
Had to get it out but don’t quite know how to write it
Jason Todd is a halfa. He doesn’t know it yet but a certain part of the government is tracking him down. They have plans to capture and experiment on him alongside with another halfa from Amity Park. They eventually capture him via using ghost hunting equipment and he’s whisked away with barely a trace left for the Bats. Jason learns the kid’s name is Phantom and they bond while in captivity.
They can get rescued. Or not. If they do I think it should be by Dick or even Jazz in all their glory. This was meant to be a hurt/comfort and angsty kind of fic or oneshot. With maybe a lil bit of fluff thrown in.
What do you think? :D
Hmmmm...could start with Jason noticing he's being stalked by dudes in white suits, and every time he beats them they come back in greater numbers.
That would make the whole "minimal trace" thing even creepier, because multiple CCTV witnessed Jason vanish into a warehouse, then being followed by an insane amount of people in white suits.
But that's it. No evidence of a fight, no nothing. They walked into the warehouse and then they were gone.
GIW with Jason not knowing he's a halfa? He'd just be pissed they keep calling him an "it" and doing stupid experiments. He gets classified as more dangerous than Phantom cuz he never goes in his ghost form, and yet he still keeps managing to find ways to maim GIW operatives.
But that's just cuz he doesn't realize he has one yet.
Him and Danny bonding because holy shit, this is a kid.
Danny forcing himself to stay in Phantom form for as long as possible, because that form can take more punishment than his human one.
And when Jason's had enough and Danny's coded double-speak finally starts to click, he manages to go into his ghost form.
But it isn't a visage of himself as Robin.
No, Jason's been exposed to the pits. He died in fire and smoke and was reborn in poison.
His ghost form is positively eldritch.
Too many teeth, too many eyes, arms with too many joints, a form that keeps glitching out of existence-he's positively terrifying.
Add that to the fact that in his ghost form, he's always going to be a little Pit Mad?
He's murdering people left and right, and then eating their ghosts as they form.
Danny's ghost type is a Banshee, Ellie's is Poltergeist, (she never got caught tbh she's been hiding in Mount Justice) and Jason?
His technical classification is Reaper. (because i get you, Jason, and i deeply understand the need to be edgy)
By the time Danny manages to calm him down enough to go human, he and the kid are the only ones with pulses in that compound.
When the Bats arrive to break him out, the GIW compound is a smoking wreck littered with corpses, and Jason is wholly unimpressed with Bruce's rescue timing.

DP x DC prompt - A Haunting, a Home
Jason and Danny were childhood friends
In this universe, instead of Jason going to see Sheila at the warehouse, it’s Danny (because Joker had captured Danny)
The last thing Jason sees is the unconscious (and seemingly dead) body of Danny.
Jason dies feeling guilty he got his best friend killed, and when he comes back he is filled to the brim with more vengeance
Meanwhile, Danny was found heavily injured and without memories - he was adopted by the Fentons (only to die a few months later, the same time Jason came back to life)
After a reveal gone wrong, Danny escapes Amity Park and ends up in Gotham, chasing fleeting memories of a boy he once knew
There he meets Red Hood who thinks Danny is the ghost of his best friend (he’s half right) come back to haunt him.

Dp x dc prompt
The batfam shows up in Amity Park for something. Maybe a Manson or Masters gala, maybe some other event idk.
Its the whole song and dance of the batfam meeting Phantom, figuring out Danny is Phantom, them being protective cuz the Fentons aren't the best parents. BUT A TWIST!
Its not all happy family fun time. Things get increasingly chaotic. Especially since some Gotham villains caught wind that the bats were in this town. Danny just keeps getting stressed. That stress builds up more and more and more, till the first casualties happen. It doesn't have to be any major characters, just people died, and Danny lost it. He has never had a casualty before, he doesn't know how to hand it. So he yells at the bats.
Screaming and crying blaming them for everything. Ever since they got there everything had gone wrong. Danny had a thing going. Ghost shows up, fight ghost, witty banter, capture ghost, then escape incompetent ghost hunters. That was his thing, but this? This is actual, murderous, lunatics in his town. He's just a kid, and thease lunatics are here because the bats are here.
From there take it however you want, and if you don't know how here are a few ideas to start you off.
- temporary villain Danny. Like, genuinly violent tawords the bats, will kick anyone's ass if they get anywhere neer gis city. If a bat tries to appeal to his ITS ON SIGHT.
- Danny tries to face the gotham Rouges alone and needs to be saved. (My least favorite personally. Not a fan of the ones where he is just some weak little kid. Thats personal bias tho)
- eather of the upper two, but Danny has to be grudgingly agree to a temporary truce/aliance to save the world ot the cities. Maybe they even rekindle their relationship.
You can even have a time skip of any length. My one guidline. Danny should probably be permanently emotionally changed by the experience. Take that how you want, but no kid comes out of that ok.

Bring Me Home Arc 2 Part 6
It's Wednesday! (I'm ignoring the clock that says it's 2 AM. It's totally still Wednesday. I haven't gone to bed yet which means it can't be Thursday.)
So, since it's obviously still Wednesday, it's time for another WIP Wednesday. We're getting into the real meat of the plot of this arc with this update! And now you'll maybe start to see where I'm gonna take this.
Story Summary: Tim and Danny are both neglected by parents who care more about their work than their families. They deal with this by spending too much time online and find each other playing MMORPGs. They keep up their friendship as Tim becomes Robin and Danny becomes Phantom and don't bother keeping secrets from each other.

And that was when a large, swirling-green gash opened up in the night sky and dozens of ghosts started pouring through.
“Oh man!” exclaimed Sam as they watched the ghosts wreak havoc on the street. “I’ve never seen this many ghosts attack at once!”
Danny held out his thermos as he stared. “I’m gonna need a bigger thermos.”
The ghosts all appeared to be wearing uniforms and held batons as they attacked civilians and police indiscriminately.
“Uh, Danny?” asked Tim. “Should we call in back up?”
“No!” One of the ghosts got close to their group and Danny quickly sucked it into the thermos, dropping Jazz’s milkshake in the process. “Dammit. Absolutely not. It’s bad enough with three metas here. No more.”
Across the street, they saw a couple running from three of the invaders. One of the ghosts turned invisible and entered the body of the man who went stiff before sprinting to catch up to his partner and grabbing her to hold her still.
Then one of the other ghosts turned a garbage can over the both of them. The one overshadowing the man left his body, leaving the humans crying and covered in garbage as the ghosts laughed.
“I see,” said Tim. “How do we protect Bart, Cassie, and Conner?”
“You’re metas?” asked Sam.
Cassie nodded. “Yeah, nothing special, but… I don’t want to see what a ghost could do with my powers.”
“Let’s get back to my place. My parents might be crazy, but the ghost shield works. And then we can make a plan.”
Tim nodded. “I’ll lead. Kon, Bart, Cassie, you three need to stay in the middle. Sam, Tucker, you watch our sides and Danny, take up the rear. Capture any ghosts that try to approach us.”
Amity, even during a ghost invasion, was much easier to navigate than Gotham and Tim was able to lead them back to Danny’s house without getting lost. Every scream made him want to stop and help, though. He hated being useless.
Behind him, he could hear muttered curses from his teammates and knew they felt the same. But they needed weapons. Ones that could actually hit a ghost. And they needed to make sure they could fight off any overshadowing.
A TV was thrown out of a house through a window next to them sending shards of glass raining on the ground. Sam let out a string of curses.
“Sam!” called Danny. “Are you okay?”
“I think so. Just a slice to my arm.”
“We’re almost there,” said Tim. “We’ll check it out.”
He was flat out running now, could hear the others just behind them. They turned a corner and he could see the glowing FentonWorks sign. He grit his teeth and continued to run away from the mayhem, fighting every instinct he had. He wouldn’t be able to help if he stayed. He repeated it as a mantra with every step.
And finally they were there, he grabbed the door handle and pulled it open, ushering his friends in first.
Once inside, Danny flipped a few switches and metal slammed down over the windows, though no guns or lasers came out of the walls.
“Okay. No ghosts can get in now.”
“Danny!” Jazz came running down the stairs. “You’re all okay! Mom and Dad rushed out as soon as the attack started. What’s going on?”
“Jazz! Sorry, I dropped your milkshake on the way here. And not much, just, you know, a ghost invasion.” Danny’s laugh was bordering on hysterical.
“But you’re all safe?”
“Sam?” asked Danny. “How’s your arm?”
“I think it’s all right.” Sam grimaced as she held some tissues to the injury.
Jazz joined and led her to the kitchen. “Come on, let me clean that up for you. What happened?”
“A ghost threw a TV through a window. A piece of glass got me as we ran by.”
Tucker turned on the Fenton’s TV and switched to the news channel.
“I’m Shelly Makamoto and this is Ghost Watch,” an Asian woman said in a cheerful voice. “Ghosts, can you believe it, real ghosts are invading Amity Park right now. Emergency vehicles are struggling to get through the invasion, so if you are injured and in an area of high ghost concentration, help may be delayed. It is recommended you remain put and wait until first responders are able to get to your area. Currently, the ghosts are most focused on the downtown area, so the hospital is spared at this time. We can only hope this doesn’t change. Now, our weatherman Lance Thunder is out right now, so lets switch to him to get an on-the-scene report.”
They all watched in silence as a male reporter cowered behind an overturned car as he gave his report.
Sam and Jazz returned just a moment later. Sam had a large bandaid over her arm but shook her head when Danny shot her a questioning look.
“It’s fine. Clean cut.”
Tim relaxed as well. “Glad to hear it,” he said.
Jazz nodded. “Nothing to be concerned about at all. Thanks for getting the ghost shield up, Danny. I always forget which switch is the weapons and which is the shield.”
Tim’s eyes narrowed. She was lying. Why was she lying?
“Yeah, no problem. We’re gonna go to the lab. Tim and his friends have self defense training, Gotham, you know? So I want to see if we have any weapons in the vault that they’d be comfortable with.”
“Great. I’m gonna be in my room. As class president, I want to try and make sure everyone is safe so I’ll be on the phone with my door shut. Knock before you enter!” Then she was running back up the stairs and slamming the door to her room.
Tim exchanged a glance with Cassie. That was weird.
But next to him, Danny let out a breath. “Okay, so she’s out of the way. Sam, you sure you’re okay?
Sam grimaced. “It stings a bit, but it’s fine. Jazz put disinfectant and antibiotic cream on it.”
“Great. Well, not great.” Danny grimaced and Sam punched him on the arm.
Tim cleared his throat. “You said something about weapons?”
Conner nodded. “Yeah, did you say you have a weapons vault?”
Danny laughed. “You saw the home defense system. Are you really surprised?”
Cassie shook her head. “Your parents are evil scientists, aren’t they?”
Danny led them down a set of stairs. “I wouldn’t call them evil. They’re just… a bit single minded.”
And then Tim was standing in their lab for the first time. It was all silver chrome and neon green accents. But worse, it was messy. Half assembled inventions were scattered haphazardly over every surface. And was that a half eaten sandwich on the bench? Ectoplasm dripped off one of the counters onto a puddle on the floor.
Sam, Tucker, and Danny walked in without concern, but Tim and his team held back.
Danny realized they weren’t following and looked back in concern. “What’s wrong?”
“No offense,” said Bart as his eyes darted around, “But, uh, is it safe?”
“What do you mean?” asked Danny, but then he looked around and noticed the mess. “Ah. Hang on a sec. I’ll get you rubber gloves and boots you can slide on over your shoes. That’ll keep you safe enough.”
Sam helped and soon enough they were passing the protective gear over. Meanwhile, Tucker sat down at a computer and pulled up the news report so they could keep tabs on what was going on.
“Can we get eye protection as well?” asked Tim once he had everything on.
“Sure. Mom and Dad have plenty of goggles.” Danny grabbed a few of those as well.
Still not entirely comfortable, Tim finally stepped into the lab. On the far wall, behind yellow and black doors was the portal he’d heard so much about.
Danny followed his gaze and put a hand on his arm. “Come on, Tim. The weapons vault is over here.”

This should be enough to figure out which episode I'm using as the base for this arc! It's not quite the Ghost Fight people were hoping for in the comments of the last update, but I think this is gonna be better.

Halloween prompts no. 31 (part 1)
Soulmate au where Damian never met his father and he took over as the demons head at the age of 14.
One of the first things he did was send out scouts in hopes of locating his other half. He had daydreamed about meeting them ever since his soulmark appeared across his upper back and he needed to have them under his protection as soon as possible. He had vowed he would do his best to not allow anyone to harm them and anyone who succeeded would die.
It took two years, but his soulmate was found in the beautiful autumn woodlands of Illinois, confused and muttering to himself something about his city going missing. It didn't matter. Daniel was Damians the moment he was captured and an Al Ghul the minute he escaped.
---
Danny had had bad days before, bad months even, but nothing like this!
He had just escaped from the dimension full of crazy ninjas and got back home to Jazz frantically checking him over. That wasn't too unusual since he had been gone for nearly a month with no word. What was unusual was that both his parents and Vlad had been missing for about a week and no one has seen a single White suit in Amity in nearly the same amount of time.
Dannys first thought was that the GIW kidnapped them or Vlad had majorly screwed up again and got caught doing something ghostly. He wasn't prepared to find more ninjas in his home dimension.
His heart sank with the realization of what this meant. He called Sam but she wasn't answering, nor did she answer any of his repeated calls or texts. That was unlike her.
He started hyperventilating as Jazz fluttered around him trying to figure out what was happening. Tucker picked up on the first ring and they both exclaimed, "Thank the Ancients!" At the same time before Tucker lit into him about where the heck he'd been. This prompted Danny to spill the wild tale about his soulmate being the teenage leader of a ninja death cult who wanted him in said death cult to both protect him and be his ghostly bride.
It was then that the man of the hour appeared through the portal followed by no less than three dozen assasins. Daniel and Jazz tried to fight but after Damian got lucky and blasted him with a weapon from the Fenton lab that temporarily negated his powers. Both of them were captured, followed shortly by Tucker.
During thier transport in an aircraft, Tucker managed to escape thanks to Jazzs help and he jumped out over a city and landed safely due to his prototype jetpack he had on his person disguised as a fanny pack full of beef jerky
This is how Tucker met Batman and this is how Batman learned he had a son.

Cassiopea and Orion #2
Previous Part
A/N: I probably shouldn't be thinking up so many different story lines. But my mind won't let me focuse on something else in peace unless I write these snippets and parts out. So here have another part XD I still have a whole Danny and Bruce backstory conversation in my head that I will probably write out at some point too.
"Really B, another one?" A red helmet wearing guy huffed the moment he spotted her, the little black haired blue eyed girl, sitting on a railing by a huge computer set up Ellie was sure Uncle Tuck would have drooled over.
She blinked at the new arrival before her eyes went over to the man. The one she had told that Phantom lost his haunt. When she had spoken these words the air around the man had changed. Before Ellie even really knew what was happening, the man had turned away from her, talking to the still tense boy before whisking the both of them away to a cave. The place she was now, and one after another more and more of the weirdly dressed people showed up. Each of them appeared to feel the need to comment on something, Ellie heavily believed to be an inside joke.
She let her eyes wander over all the arrivals, her fingers nervously drumming on the metal of the railing she was sitting on. Watching them carefully, despite what Danny had told her, she would bold at the first sight of danger from them. They didn't appear to have any ecto-weapons but that could be false impression. Like the GIW. They had appeared so incompetent only to do a 180 decades later.
"So what is going on? Is B printing adoption papers already?" The red and black one appeared to joke and Ellie tilted her head. There definitely was a insider joke she was not aware of. It would be weird to ask them about it wouldn't it? It would also be rude and tactless. Danny and Aunt Jazz had tried to teach her to not always blurt out every question that pops up in her head. Key words, not always.
"Why would the furry need adoption papers?"
She blinked at how a couple of the people broke out laughing while the kid, who had been watching her like a hawk, was now full on shooting daggers at her. She was pretty sure the kid would have thrown a literal one at her, but something as keeping them from doing so. She heard a grunt, and her eyes went back to the man that had brought her here.
"Not necessary." The man muttered as he turned to face them, clicking a key on the keyboard of the computer, and Ellie blinked as an image of Phantom popped up on screen. The people laughing appeared to quiet down now. "She already has a father."
"Mom." Ellie automatically corrected, shrugging when they looked at her. Before everything had gone to shits and Danny's capture, he had become quiet the mother hen, especially with Dan's and her de-aging. The constant mothering and worry about their well-being had caused Dan to joke that Danny was acting like a mother and she had continued to run with that joke. Even after they had to put Dan into a frozen state under Frostbites care in Far Frozen. The two had silently agreed on that Danny was their mom. The past didn't matter and she would honour their silent sibling agreement.
She didn't elaborate any further and they seemed to get that as they turned back to the man by the computer, putting their attention on that. Though she did noticed that the other kids eyes lingered on her longer.
"This is Phantom. A ghost hero stationed at Amity Park. Code: Rho, one of Cassiopea's dying stars." The man paused, and Ellie swore he had looked at her under his cowl. "And this girl's, Elliza Danielle Phantom Nightingale's, mother. Code: Jupiter, the wandering star."
"How do you know my full name?! Plus, my only recently added ones! They are like only a month old! And what about these weird Codes?" She blurred out wide-eyed, staring at the man in bat costume.
"Even if sparse Phantom and I stayed in contact using these codes." And Ellie narrowed her eyes at him. "Doesn't answer my question."
"Actually, B we would also like to know more." One of the onlookers, that's what Ellie decided they were for now, piped up.
Bat guy grunted, staring them down but not answering. The onlooker in blue sighed but Ellie wasn't giving in. She crossed her arms, keeping her balance by floating slightly on the railing.
"Look, you big bad bee, if you can't tell me that, then how am I supposed to trust you to help me, let alone the rescue of Da- Phantom!"
The onlookers snickered as she held her little staring contest with the big bad bee. Jokes on that guy she had held staring contests with Frighty before and he doesn't even remember how to blink at times.
"Phantom and I correspond about various topics since our teen years." The bat guy finally admitted. "One of which was about... our children."
Ellie blinked several times. Until her eyes widened in realization and she pointed an accusing finger at bat guy. "You're the one that kept calling Danny about parent advice! Like how he got me to go to online school and prevented me from sneaking out or how he handled Dan's anger tantrums!"
"Wait... B went to someone other than Agent A for parent advice?" The red and black onlooker questioned and Ellie shrugged. Danny had always been sort of parenting her since he was 16 and Dan once they learned he was aging lower and then the de-aging happened. She did remember that Danny got his first phone call about parent advice when he was around 24.
Now that Ellie thought about it. That was also around the time he took her aside to tell her about the emergency code.
"Which one of us do you guys think was the cause?"
"Wing."
"Hood."
"Demon Brat."
Ellie blinked once more, her attention turning back to the onlookers as thet started to argue among themselves. She tilted her head, watching them. Looks like she accidentally got them off topic. Though now she really wanted to get the story out of Danny once they rescued him. For years she had caught snippets of Danny's phone calls, to think that the guy on the other end was a armored spandex wearing furry. She couldn't wait to tell Dan about that.
Well, once their mom was saved and her brother stabilized again.

Phantom in Gotham 4
Chapter 3
Danny wasn't sure if he had told Red Hood too much or not last night. Did he need to know about the ghost zone? Probably not, but Danny knew what it felt like to not have anyone guide him on the development of his ghost powers. Danny felt a sort of bond with the Hood. They were similar in the way that they'd sort of come back to life with a bunch of unexplained changes with no idea about the whole ghost community they were now a part of. Though, Danny guessed Red Hood wasn’t really a part of it anymore, but still. Stuff like that can be hard to adjust from, and having someone talk them through it is helpful.
How long had the Red Hood been living with contaminated ectoplasm? Danny thought, shuddering. He at least hoped the guy would feel a bit better now that the rage was gone. Even Danny had trouble controlling the Ring of Rage, he wasn't sure how a regular human could deal with that kind of anger on a normal basis. A thought came to him about how Red Hood killed a bunch of criminals in the news he’d seen a while ago, and then it kind of made sense.
Danny sighed, laying his head down on his desk for a nap. He'd snuck into the school early to take a nap at his desk before classes started, like he usually did. It was better than sleeping in the pizzaria for sure, even if he didn't have anything comfy to lay on. At least he never got cold, he thought.
Danny was a little glad he was able to talk to Red Hood about the GIW, considering the guy was more of an anti-hero and less likely to follow the government's orders. He hoped the guy might be able to investigate a bit, or help him in case Danny ever got captured by Agent K or his parents. Again. Danny wasn't so sure anything would come of it, but he figured someone with ectoplasm contamination should at least be aware of it in case he put himself on the GIW's radar. Danny shivered at the thought, pulling out his homework instead to focus on something other than experiments on his ghost friends and himself.
By the time people started shuffling into their seats, Danny was doodling designs for ghost gear. Like the Specter Detector, he wanted to reverse it to hide a ghost's signature instead. He and Ellie would be able to hide from the GIW and any ghost-weapons that relied on those kinds of sensors. Since he was in Gotham, the GIW's scanners back in Amity wouldn't reach him. Probably. He'd be out of their range, or at least he hoped so, for the time being. If he went back to Amity, having a way to hide his ectoplasmic signature would come in handy.
Danny perked up from what he was designing when Tim practically fell into the seat next to him, nearly spilling his coffee. "Dude, you okay?"
"Long night,"Tim grumbled, rubbing his eye. He looked over at Danny with poorly concealed concern. "You okay?"
"Yep!" Danny beamed back at him, yet Tim could tell his eyes were full of something like anxious nerves and a bit of hope and fear about his interactions with Red Hood last night. "I'm more worried about you, did you even get any sleep last night?"
"Few hours,"Tim said, sipping his coffee. "Was just working on a project. Oh." Tim stopped, looking at Danny with tired eyes. "What's that you're working on?"
Danny blinked, looking down at his notebook. "Oh, nothing important. Just designing an invention I was thinking of."
Tim made grabby hands for his notebook and Danny stifled a laugh but handed it over. Nothing on it specifically mentioned ghosts, so he figured it wouldn't arouse any kind of suspicion. "This is pretty advanced." Tim said, scanning over the blueprints. He squinted at Danny. "Why the interest in hiding energy signatures?"
"U-uh,"Danny stammered, "My... parents, are inventors. Just sort of picked up a few things from them. It was just an idea I had." Danny waved off, and accepted the notebook back from Tim.
"Really? What sort of stuff were your parent's working on?"Tim asked, genuinely curious.
"They made pretty much everything,"Danny breathed out a laugh, "Like, from electrified nets to toasters that shoot lasers for home defense kind of things, so they weren’t taken seriously very often.”
"Huh,"Tim thought, sipping his coffee in thought.”What are they working on now?”
“I’m not really sure, I don’t live with them anymore.” Danny said, turning back to his desk. He rubbed at his chest absentmindedly, feeling phantom pains from the scars his parents gave him. Tim narrowed his eyes at the answer, but figured he just didn't want to talk about it. He stared into his cup of coffee, thinking absently of how many hours of sleep he got the night before and if that was affecting his ability to communicate. He had the sudden urge to bring up ghosts but pushed that down.
“I don’t live with my parents anymore either,”Tim offered, and Danny gave him a sympathetic smile.
“Adopted? I heard a little bit about the Waynes, but I didn’t want to pry,”Danny asked. “My friend Tucker is obsessed with Wayne Tech.” And he was pretty sure Sam had kept track of their environmental progress, but he didn’t know much about that since she usually just ended up talking about Poison Ivy.
“Yeah,”Tim inclined his head. He thought about what Dick had told him about Danny and fought to keep a frown off his face. “What about you? Who do you live with now?”
“Uh, just me right now,” Danny winced, rubbing the back of his neck. “My sister helped me get an apartment around here to stay in while I go to school.”
Tim frowned. He’d forgotten about Danny’s two sisters. One was in college, and the other one seemed younger. Was she still staying with Danny’s parents? Why was Danny lying about the apartment? “Oh yeah? Why’d you choose Gotham Prep?”
This made Danny light up.”I wasn’t really paying attention when my sister explained it to me, but I can see now why she wanted me to go here. The astrology and science programs are the best- way better than back home. My old school was a lot smaller and underfunded, but we only had one class of twenty or less per grade. Gotham Prep is just- huge.”
“What school did you go to before?” Tim pressed. He could look into a school without using the batcomputer.
To Tim’s dismay, Danny waved him off. “You wouldn’t have heard of it. Small town, you know? We didn’t even have to wear uniforms.” Danny added, tugging at the collar of his own with a wince.
“You’ll get used to it,”Tim laughed. Or so he thought. Tim was used to it, but as far as he could tell Jason never liked the uniforms. Dick maybe, but still.
“I hope not,”Danny grumbled, making Tim smile. “So what’d you choose for the chemistry project? I have to say, physics and mechanics are more my expertise.”
“Yeah, I finished it this morning,”Tim said absently. He was running through their conversation and making notes on the potential red flags. Knowing Danny, there had to be a reason why he was practically homeless yet attended a private school. Not to mention what his sisters were up to. Tim had a suspicion that his older sister was involved a lot more than the parents were. “I chose kryptonium.”
“Huh,” Danny nodded, resting his chin on his hand. “I chose Aluminum. It’s good for a lot of mechanical engineering.” Danny let out a breath, mumbling,”And since ectoranuim hasn’t been discovered by the whole world yet,” under his breath.
Tim squinted,”What?”
“Nothin, just lamenting the lack of knowledge we have for other possible elements in different realms or on different planets,”Danny explained, then started a rant to cover up anything about ectoranium.”Like Kryptonium, basically. Who knows what other things are out in space. There could be a bazillion undiscovered elements out there.”
“I’m pretty sure the Justice League is responsible for at least 8 new elements,”Tim nodded. Not mentioning the ones they kept under wraps from the general public.
“Yeah, but you never know what the government is hiding,”Danny scowled. He looked like he genuinely disliked the government, which, Tim could agree they weren’t great on the best of days. Especially since he found out about the anti-ecto-acts that affected Jason and Phantom.
“Woah, what do you have against the government?” Tim laughed. Danny only scowled more.
“I think they get away with too much. Easily corrupted. You know, the usual,” Danny scoffed. “Not like I’m a conspiracy theorist, but still.”
‘What, you think they have some sort of Area 51?” Tim asked. Of course, Tim knew exactly what was in Area 51, but he wasn’t going to say anything.
“Maybe not, but something like it, sure.” Danny said, taking a breath. He turned to face Tim with what looked like false cheer. “Why, don’t you believe in cryptids? I mean, if aliens exist, why not?”
“Like ghosts and stuff?” Tim smiled. “Yeah, I believe in ghosts. We should go to a haunted house sometime.”
“Wha- you believe in ghosts?” Danny laughed. Tim smiled softly at the sound. He couldn’t remember the last time Danny had laughed. It was nice.
“You don’t?” Tim raised an eyebrow at him, amused.
“Yeah no. Bigfoot’s probably real though,”Danny nodded. Tim couldn’t help but notice the way Danny’s bangs fell in front of his eyes, and had the urge to brush them away himself. He had a sudden flashback to Dick’s sly smile when mentioning Danny and felt heat on his cheeks.  “My goal in life is to meet Mothman.”
“I thought your goal in life was to go to space,”Tim shook his head fondly, trying to dislodge the sudden gay thoughts that overtook his mind for a moment. Maybe he needed more sleep, he thought.
“Okay, my goals are to go to space and meet mothman,” Danny relented. He glanced at Tim with a glint in his eye before adding,”You think I’ll find Mothman in space?”
“Wh- no, why would Mothman be in space? Wasn’t he seen in the middle of the US?”
“Maybe Mothman is from space. Might be more of him out there. I could be the one to finally bring him home, where he belongs.”
“Danny no.”
“Are you saying I shouldn’t launch Mothman into space?”
“I wouldn’t trust you to be launching anything into space, much less a person.”

Truth in Rumors
Based on the Phic Phight prompts: When Wes Weston is pulled out of school under mysterious circumstances, Danny thinks he'll have a little fun starting a conspiracy of his own. Turnabout is fair play, after all. It gets a little out of hand (from @thatst) and Wes gets in an accident while working on a plan to convince people that Danny is Phantom. Thanks to the ambient ectoplasm in Amity and the constant exposure to ghosts, he doesn't die... but he does get a lot clumsier in a very familiar way. (from @ajitated)
AO3 Link
[Warning's for mentioned character half-death, and swearing]
Wes had always been one of those perfect attendance kids. As long as they'd gone to school together, Danny couldn't think of a single time Wes had been absent, unlike Danny, who missed class all the time, especially since high school started. So, when Wes was mysteriously absent from school one day, the people who knew him took notice.
All they guys on the basketball team were muttering about how weird it was that Wes wasn't at school. A few others from his classes were remarking about the serendipitous break they were getting from his unceasing conspiracy theories. Normally, there was nothing all that interesting about a student being absent for a day, but Danny knew a golden opportunity when he saw one.
This was a chance to finally get back at Wes for constantly trying to expose his identity. This was his chance to make up a little conspiracy of his own. Turnabout was fair play, after all.
"Did you hear what happened to Wes?" Danny asked Mandy in history class, which she shared with both Wes and Danny.
"You mean that he's absent today?" she asked. "Yeah, I noticed."
"No, I mean did you hear why he's absent?"
"No? He's probably got a cold or something."
"Nope," Danny said. "He was trying to prove his insane theory about half-ghosts and got himself ecto-contaminated. My parents got a call about it last night and had to rush over 'cause they're the only people around who know how to take care of something like that. That idiot's in quarantine with a strain of ghost flu."
"No way," Mandy said, though she didn't appear to actually doubt his story at all. It did rather sound like something Wes would do. "Seriously?"
"Yeah," Danny insisted. "I got woken up last night by my parents prepping their equipment to treat him and they told me about the call."
"Damn, Wes may have gone a little too far this time."
"I'm sure he'll be fine," Danny scoffed. "My parents can treat ghost flu in their sleep. Serves him right, if you ask me. At least I'm getting a break from him rooting through my trash looking for 'evidence'." Danny put finger-quotes around the last work and rolled his eyes, illiciting a scoff from Mandy.
Mandy was an incurable gossip, which was why Danny had told her first. The rumor spread through the school like wildfire. When Wes was absent again the following day, the rumor mill worked over time. The rumor Danny had started grew twisted. Now Wes had become a ghost and would likely never return to school. Now the Fentons had already captured him and were running experiments. Now Phantom had rescued him and sent him to the Ghost Zone forever.
On the third day, Wes returned to school. He seemed human enough, as far as anyone could tell, but at the same time, something was off about him. Something strangely familiar. When Wes came back to school, he was suddenly clumsier than he'd ever been. Danny heard some of the basketball players complaining about how much Wes dropped the ball during practice, and the chemistry teacher complaining about dropped beakers.
It wasn't until the chem teacher remarked, "He's like Danny all over again," that he made the connection. "I swear if I have to hand out another lifetime ban from touching sensitive equipment, I will. The school does not give me enough funds to keep buying new beakers and test tubes."
Danny had to talk with Wes right away.
"Fenton!" Wes shouted, cornering him in the hall after school. "Care to explain all the stupid rumors about me dying and being banished to the Ghost Zone? I know this is your fault."
"Care to explain why you're sinking into the floor?" Danny shot back. Wes was normally taller than him, but they were eye to eye.
"Shit!" Wes flailed, and Danny pulled him out of the ground with a sigh and dragged him into the staff bathroom, locking the door behind them.
"What the hell did you do to yourself?" Danny demanded. "Did you actually do what I think you did in your stupid quest to prove I'm a halfa?"
"A halfa?" Wes asked. "Is that what you are?"
"Don't call me that, it's a slur," Danny said. "Explain yourself."
"I didn't do it on purpose," Wes began. "I was... investigating the scene of that big ghost fight. Your mom was using this big, bazooka thing, and threw it away when it got damaged and stopped working. It was pretty much trashed, and she left it behind when the fight was over."
Wes had been trying to learn as much as he could about ghosts in order to prove that Danny was one. He shouldn't have messed with such a dangerous weapon, but he brought it home, to his room. While he was examining it, the weapon suddenly turned back on. Wes' voice caught in his throat as he described the way the Fenton Bazooka had malfunctioned, opening a ghost portal halfway inside Wes as it exploded.
"I don't know how I'm even still here, to be honest," Wes finished. "It completely trashed my room. It was more painful than anything I've ever experienced. I should be dead dead, but... I still have a pulse, and I'm still breathing."
"Yeah, being a half-ghost is weird like that." He wanted to be smug, because it sort of served Wes right, but he also knew exactly the kind of pain Wes was talking about, and he couldn't help a pang of sympathy. "You should know better than to touch discarded Fenton tech. Amity Park Sanitation dedicates a full day of training for how to safely dispose of my parents junk."
"How was I supposed to know that?" Wes groused, crossing his arms over his chest. "How could I possibly know that it was going to explode on me like that?" Danny sighed harshly. How could Wes not have guessed that? Fenton tech blew up all the time.
"Well, congrats Wes, you're like me now," Danny told him, finally mustering up some of the sarcasm he'd wanted to berate Wes with from the beginning. "You're half-ghost, which means the government has legally stripped you of all your rights as human beings, and if my parents ever find out what you are, you'll be on a metal autopsy table before you can pick out a ghost name."
"Well I'd have a lot less to worry about if someone hadn't spread rumors about me being a ghost all around the school when I was absent for two days."
"You're one to talk!" Danny scoffed, although he did sort of have a point. Danny would have to make sure those rumors were fully put to rest now that he knew the truth. As much as Wes annoyed him, he didn't want the asshole to be in genuine danger. "I was just trying to mess with you to get back at you for trying to expose me. I had no idea what happened to you. You know damn well what you're doing and you still try to expose me. Maybe now you'll learn to appreciate why I keep it a secret in the first place." Wes visibly tensed, then looked down at the tile floors, ashamed. "I'm surprised you haven't gone and revealed yourself to the whole school already, just to prove you were right."
"I... I'm sorry," Wes mumbled. "I never realized how hard this crap was. I've only been like this for three days, and I already had to miss school for two of them because my eyes wouldn't stop glowing and my hair wouldn't stop floating. Now I'm back and stuff keeps falling right through my hands."
"And my parents haven't even threatened to tear you apart molecule by molecule yet."
Wes flinched, but nodded. "I know I shouldn't be asking, because we're the furthest thing from friends, but please help me," he begged. His green eyes glowed red at he fixed Danny with a pleading gaze. "I have no idea what I'm doing, and I promise to stop trying to expose you, just please, please help me figure this out! There's no one else I can ask!"
Danny wanted to say no, to tell Wes to figure it out himself, like Danny had, but for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to. He just couldn't leave someone to drown like this when he had the ability to save them. "Fine," he relented. "You're eyes are glowing by the way." Wes cursed as he jerked back and covered them. "It doesn't matter if it's only me around, but you should at least figure out how to tell whether they're glowing or not. Let's see your ghost form."
"Um... alright," Wes agreed. "I'm not sure if I can go back and forth on command yet."
"Close your eyes, and focus on your core," Danny instructed. "Switching between forms feels like turning something upside-down inside you. It's just a matter of finding the part of you that's human, and flipping it over. Visualize the transformation, and then switch." Wes nodded.
A moment later, there was a bright light like a camera flash, and when Danny stopped seeing spots, there was Wes, floating before him. His close had switched to a black and green version of Casper High's basketball uniform. His red hair was teal, and floating around his head as if he were underwater, framing his glowing red eyes. His freckles glowed now too, bright specks of light against his translucent skin.
"Yup, just as I suspected," Danny remarked, nodding approvingly.
"What?"
"You're ghost form doesn't look half as cool as mine does." Wes growled, and blue-green beams of ectoplasm shot from his eyes right at Danny, knocking him against the sink.
"Shit! Sorry!" Wes apologized. "I genuinely didn't mean to do that! It just happened!"
"All good," Danny grunted as he used the sink to push himself back up to his feet. "But we've got our work cut out for us."

DannyMay2023 day 26: art/fic switch
Title: Now what do we have over here?
I don't actually share many of my fanfics... So this is a bit strange for me. I hope you enjoy!
Summary:
Wes is a bit dejected after another fail at exposing Phantom to the world. But friendly internet stranger might be able to help
Another day, another disappointment.
Wes was sure he had gotten video of Danny transforming from Fenton into Phantom this time! Everything seemed fine while taping! Even through the playbacks, there was only a small hum and minimal graininess.
The major problem was exporting it. Any kind of modern tech always seems to shut down at this step.
Only the most archaic forms of videotaping can stand a chance against the weird distorting qualities of Amity Park’s atmosphere. So AVC to computer adapter it was! But it seemed even ol’ reliable would fail him too.
“Damnit!” He didn't understand what could've gone wrong. “How come this stupid old junk record everything fine but can't transfer to digital to save its life?!”
Working backwards everything was fine. Tape, intact. Camcorder, unscathed. AVC and adapter, plugged. It had to be something with the desktop. The tape played back fine. Everything on the grainy little screen played back fine, but on the computer…
Through the chromatic aberration and distortion, the tape was still legible. It's only when Fenton's transformation rings should appear, the video starts severely deteriorating. The grainy quality of the picture breaks into full undistinguishable noise. The light hum grows and becomes an oppressive static.
Wes angrily shoves the camcorder, still doing his best to be careful with the technology. Even through his rage he knows the worth of analog media in this town. Wes huffs out a breath and collapses on his desk. If he was more hopeful, he'd try recording the camcorder’s screen with his phone again, but he just wants to wallow for a moment.
A ping rings out from the desktop notifications, getting Wes’ attention. Clicking on it took him to his favorite conspiracy theory reddit. Some poor guy’s getting dragged. Breathing in, Wes sits up and pulls his keyboard closer. He musters as much of his optimism and attempts to string together a half-assed peptalk. Hopefully it'll help whoever's on the other end, keep them going a little longer in their search for the truth.
Incredibly, they respond almost immediately. A simple thank you and asking if they have any experience sleuthing. Wes sighs, he could write a whole essay on how to fail at sleuthing.
He smiles at the sympathetic response from the stranger, but something piques his interest and he quickly direct messages the user.
—new conversation started—
ConspiracyK1ng:
Did you just say you make your own tech?
CyberSlueth:
Yes.
And it's pretty impressive if I do say so myself
You interested?
ConspiracyK1ng:
Kind of…
Do you know anything about analog media?
CyberSlueth:
LOL sorry no
Why are you messin with those fossils?
ConspiracyK1ng:
Sadly it's the only thing that works in these…extenuating circumstances.
Anything else stops working when I try capturing what's happening in my town.
Old camcorders and cameras are the most reliable here.
CyberSlueth:
Well thats weird.
Are you sure there isn't anything else that could work recording video?
ConspiracyK1ng:
Not with the weird radiation in my town.
The only things that seem to work are from these scientists.
And they're even bigger nutjobs than me.
CyberSlueth:
…hmmm…
Maybe I could help with that.
Do you have any of their tech?
-
Now that really, really got Wes’ attention. That's two really’s.
Maybe he should continue talking with this guy…

Order - Ectober Day 3
AO3 Link
The Fenton’s find out Phantom is a halfa and attempt to fix him. Maddie has doubts.
Even though it’s been days since she and Jack found out, she can still barely comprehend it. Sometimes there is the slightest torrent of denial that comes flooding back, but she pushes it back, knowing she can’t ever be so oblivious ever again.
They’re meant to be experts on ghosts. Know everything about them, what makes them tick, the best capture methods. Everything.
Perhaps because it’s so unbelievable. At the beginning of her and Jack’s journey to become ghost hunters, back in the days when their theories were scribbled down in notebooks instead of published, credible sources, there’d been the slight consideration of the possibility. What if an entity could be both human and ghost?
Dismissed almost instantly. It was too ridiculous to even fathom, the possibility of someone being a split between ghost and human. It wouldn’t even be possible, ectoplasm reacting the way it did with human tissue.
Except it was. And it’s the ghost they’ve always had their eyes set on since the beginning. The first ghost to ever appear in Amity Park.
He’d always been different, and they’d spent days theorising why. And now they know the reasoning, it almost doesn’t feel real.
A human child is Amity’s protector. Forced by his ghostly obsession to fight other ghosts trespassing on his haunt. It must be exhausting, she thinks.
Perhaps it’s like being possessed, no choice on what to do or say, but forever. Phantom must be tired of the same routine, getting injured. Surely it must be interfere with his human life, having to prioritise the ghostly instincts all the time?
Suddenly, Maddie is jarred out of her thoughts as a black and white figure comes into vision through the sight of her netting gun. Her finger dances on the trigger.
“You good out there, Mads?” Jacks voice crackles through the speaker on her hip.
“All good.” She hisses, squinting, “He’s in my target. Must’ve got thrown by another ghost. I’m keeping wary for any others.”
Maddie waits a few more seconds for any other ghost to appear. She doesn’t want to take a shot and have another ghost to deal with, or possibly steal her specimen. Luckily, no others appear.
“Clear?”
“Yup. No sight of an opponent. Phantom hasn’t noticed me yet. Should be a clean shot.”
Despair washes over her as Phantom turns, his eyes fixing onto her. Terror fills his green eyes, mouth slightly hung open.
“W—what are you doing with that?” stutters Phantom, his voice making her wince with his young it sounds. He shouldn’t be on the battlefield. Is the confident, heroic facade just a ghostly instinct from his real personality?
“I promise I’m not going to hurt you.” she reassures, trying to calm him.
“Are you sure? You’re still pointing that at me.” Phantom cuts back warily, before gesturing behind himself, “There’s still a ghost over there. Y’know…instead of catching me you could get that.”
The fear is raw in his voice, and Maddie fights the temptation to put the gun down. He can’t be much older than Danny, small and slight, his cheeks still chubby and green eyes shining with terror.
An awkward silence encases the both of them.
“So…” Phantom hesitates, his hand resting on the nape of his neck in a hauntingly familiar gesture, “Why the change of heart? How come you say you don’t want to hurt me, even though you’ve still got the gun pointed at me?”
He’s half human, that’s why. But as she takes in his features, her stomach flips at the thought that barely days ago, she would’ve captured him, dissected him into pieces.
What if they’d never found out? What if they had dissected him—killing him in the process? A family would’ve been left without their son.
“I’m sorry.” The apology torrents out unexpectedly, as Phantom blinks in surprise. What she’s apologising for, she doesn’t know. The fact she almost dissected someone’s child? The fact a human child has gone so long like, this, and her and Jack never noticed?
“…we should’ve noticed sooner, me and Jack.” Maddie admits, not daring to look at him any longer, “But now we know, and I promise we’re here to help.”
”Know what?” A chill prickles down her spine as Phantom tenses, green eyes glaring at her with suspicion. All the thoughts of a scared, michevious child go out the window.
Even if he has the visage of a child, she has to remember he’s still part ghost. For now, that is. This is one of the most powerful ghosts in Amity Park she’s facing, the one who defeated the ghost king all them months ago.
It’s easy to fall into the rouse of the innocent teen act. Herself included. Some may be true, given that he is partially human, but it fills Maddie’s stomach with dread. To think how easily the town had fallen for Phantom’s “hero” ruse, forgetting how powerful and destructive he could be at the flip of a coin.
”What do you know?” Phantom hisses again, eyes narrowed and ghostly tail waving like a cat’s. Maddie wonders if he’s so on edge about his half-human status being discovered, or rather it could be another secret buried deep.
Whatever it is, she’ll find out. Just not now.
”Nothing, I promise. I just know you don’t have to keep doing this.” she says, genuine, “You shouldn’t have to be our town protector. You’re just a kid with way too much responsibility.”
“If you think I’m a kid then you wouldn’t have that gun pointed at me.” Phantom insists petulantly, folding his arms. But nonetheless, his expression softens.
“Just in case.” Maddie states, tension building in her stomach. She hopes he doesn’t catch on, she’s so close.
Phantom nods, an almost…disappointed look upon his face.
”I understand.” He nods sullenly, looking to the floor, “…of course you wouldn’t…trust me. Why did I ever think you would? Stupid me. You’re a ghost hunter…you would never…trust me.”
As the ghost remains stuck in his sullen trance, she sees her opportunity.
Finger on the trigger, she seamlessly points the netting gun towards Phantom and shoots without hesitation. The neon green net sprawls out and towards him.
All that comes crashing down the second she sees Phantom’s expression. Confusion. Shock. Terror.
Betrayal.
“You said you weren’t going to hurt me.” Phantom lisps, as the net encases around him, riddling him unconscious.
Maddie flinches at how quickly the ghost drops down. She hadn’t expected it to be that quick. The gun is some new technology Jack came up with, a netting gun able to render a ghost unconscious.
Right from the beginning she’s been hesitant to do this, she realises. She’d picked a defensive weapon, one that would capture Phantom, rather than hurt him.
“Got him, Jack.” Maddie unclips the radio and presses the button on the side.
“Thank god, Mads! I was about to get out the GAV, thought Phantom might’ve gotten to you! Not that you couldn’t defend yourself of course, but y’know….”
“I know, Jack.” she chuckles lightly, looking down at a now unconscious Phantom. Hesitantly, she pokes a foot out, nudging him.
He doesn’t stir. Out cold turkey.

In the distance, the GAV wheels screech. Jack on the way to help her take Phantom back to the lab.
As Maddie stares back down at the unconscious Phantom, she can’t help but think they’ve got this all wrong.
A/N: First day of Ectober done! And I know…a cliffhanger, but I thought it was a good place to end off since I’m exhausted. This will get a continuation as one of the other ectober prompts (idek which one yet lol)

No Hero ‘AMV’
An ‘AMV’ of JT Music’s Venom fan song “No Hero”, featuring Danny Phantom
Dedicated to @dp-marvel94
(Open on the ‘Danny activates the portal’ scene from the DP intro. Cut to human form Danny looking in the mirror and seeing his ghost form staring back.)
I got a darkness inside and it's talking to me.
I feel it rumble and writhe like a hungry disease.
A face so ugly I hide, but it longs to be free.
Once I've brought it to light, I'll be gone underneath.
(Danny backs away from the mirror in horror, but as he looks down at his hands, he turns into his ghost form.)
Swallowed, consumed,
I am one with the beast.
You're not me!
Who are you?
What are we?
When I look at the face in the mirror I see
Just a shell of myself...
I can tell you're no hero to me.
(Shot of Danny in his room, freaking out as he shifts between human and ghost forms. Cut to Danny talking to Sam and Tucker, who try to comfort him with little success.)
I've got something gut tattering, blood blackening.
My anatomy's unraveling, what's happening?
Genetically unfettered immortality,
A mask that I’ll have on far beyond Halloween...
Just from one touch fastening, attached to me,
Feels like I'm galactically drug trafficking,
Just dabbled and got addicted, I love agony,
Identity gone, nothing much left of me!
(Shots of Danny trying desperately to control his intangibility and invisibility. Cut to Danny in human form, floating in a neon green void, face to face with his ghost form. The latter takes the former’s hands and gives him a reassuring smile.)
I've become an unnatural catastrophe
Infested with unfathomable fantasies!
Never knew there was such madness untapped in me.
Some venomous entity that we've become, haven't we?
We're ravaging our enemies compatibly.
Dulled faculties I've forgotten, what's empathy?
As a matter of fact, lost all sense of me.
Doesn't matter cuz Venom's what we are meant to be!
(Cut to Danny looking into the bathroom mirror. He places a hand on the glass before closing his eyes and transforming into his ghost form.)
Tongue's wrapping around, stomach growling now,
Hungry ravenous power, but I've atrophied, how?
Won't be captured and held, I will rattle the cell!
Far from God's grace, I already fell!
Blood drunk from the carnage, I think I'm gonna drown,
Like the devil himself has been dragging me down!
But I've actually found part of heaven in hell,
We will topple your steeples and we'll shatter the bells!
(Opening his eyes, Danny allows himself to rise off the ground. A wide smile appears on his face, and he flies through the door and out of his bedroom window.)
Oooh, right never felt so wrong,I know we've both walked paths on which we don't belong,And now I have no doubt, if I cast you out,I'll be left with half myself.
(Shots of Danny flying over Amity Park, grinning and laughing all the while.)
I got a darkness inside and it's walking with me.
I'm buckled up for the ride with a hunger to feed.
I don't want you to hide if you long to be free.
We're no hero tonight, we're the monster you need!
(Cut to several ghosts causing mayhem in the mall. Suddenly, Danny becomes visible, floating behind them with a mischievous grin. The ghosts turn to attack, but Danny just smirks confidently. The video ends with Danny charging in, no longer afraid of what he’s become.)
Swallowed, consumed,
Venom running through me.
I won't be,
Nor will you,
Only we.
Now I look at the face in the mirror and see
Just how fearsome we are,
But you're far from a hero to me!

And He Answered
Chapter 4
Words for this chapter: 1158
For @phicphight
Prompt by @erebecula Mermaid AU, where instead of being ectobiologists, Jack and Maddie Fenton study wildlife from under the sea— specifically mermaids. Amity Park is next to multiples large lakes and rivers, the Ghost Zone is underwater, all the ghosts are mers, and Danny is struggling to find a way to explain his sudden aversion to any things water.
No warnings for this chapter! (That I can think of)
First | Prev | Next | AO3
"What exactly did you mean when you said I was a drowned."
Princess Dorothea found the answer to be simple, but hard to deliver. No one wants to live with the fact they died. Calmly, she took a breath and began to explain,
"Our people are made up of two main types of people. There are the spawned, those who are born a mer. They usually look less like a land dweller. Then there's the drowned, people who died at sea. Not everyone who drowns becomes a mer however. They have to have a strong will to live or the right conditions in order to manifest their new form."
The young one looked down in thought. It reminded her of when she first became a mer. Her brother, Aragon, and her had been captured by Vikings and tossed into the sea. She remembers the cold water and her senses beginning to numb. Her change had scared her. That was a good millennium ago. A lot has changed since then.
The boy looked up at her once more and asked,
"So does the whole mer thing come with powers?"
"Normally, yes, one can train in magic and develop powers that are specific to them. However, I cannot be sure with you, Young One, for your aura is different from that of a normal drowned. I have never sensed anything like it before. Was there anything unique about the circumstances of your transformation?"
The boy (Danny?) thought for a second before answering her.
"I, uh, don't remember what happened. I did have a dream though. I was in the sub. Water had already filled the cockpit. But there was a man, a blue man. He was wearing some kind of purple cloak and blew a ball of blue light at me, kinda like how you did with the language spell. He told me I was destined to 'unite the land and sea' or something like that."
Dora gasped. There was a myth among the Mer of a guardian donned in purple. He was said to only appear in the darkest of times when the needs were great. Most mers had never encountered this man. Many thought it was just a legend. Only the Ancients know if this Master of Time truly exists. Thoughts of different prophecies filled her mind, but she pushed them out. What mattered right now was helping this kid.
"Would you like to accompany me to the Atlantic? We could find you a tutor," she offered. The child's face brightened before scrunching up again.
"I would love to, but I just remembered I have to get back home. My sister's probably worried about me."
"Very well. If you come back tomorrow, maybe you may journey with me then."
Dora escorted Danny back to his archway. He turned back to her and waved before diving into the swirling water.
  Safe travels, young one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Once he was over the disorientation, Danny swam towards the beach. Jazz was sitting on the sand reading a book.
   "Sorry, that took so long. I got caught up in something," he told her as he pulled his body onto shore.
   "What do you mean? You were only gone for like a minute," she replied while handing him a towel.
   "It felt a lot longer than that," he mumbled.
   "Well either way, Sam and Tucker will be expecting you at Nasty Burger in about 20 minutes."
   "You're right I should be getting ready."
   "That's right. We can't have them being suspicious. Although, I don't think it would be a bad thing to have them in the loop."
   "I know. I'll tell them eventually. I just want to figure things out for myself first."
   "And that's perfectly fine! Just remember that they are your friends, and I believe that they will support you."
   "Thanks Jazz."
    The siblings packed up their stuff and began their walk home. Machinery sounded from the lab as they entered their house. The Fenton parents must be working on something. Jack walked up from the lab covered in grease.
   "Jazzy! Danno! You're back!"
   Jack's gigantic arms wrapped around both his children and squeezed the life out of them.
  "Come see what we made! It'll blow those mer outta the water!"
   "Thanks, but no thanks, I got to study," was Jazz's reply.
   "Well that leaves you and me, Danno!"
    Danny tried his best to look excited. While they were walking down to the lab, Danny decided to risk it and ask his dad some questions.
    "Hey, Dad?"
    "Yes, so?"
     "Why do you hate the mer so much?"
     Jack looked at his son's thoughtful expression and sighed.
     "It all started when your mom, my buddy Vlad, and I were working on our college project. I've always believed that mer existed, especially since we Fentons come from a long line of sailors and merhunters, but I never encountered one until that day.
    We were out on a boat in a river nearby campus, collecting specimens to catalog for our marine biology class. We found different fish to weigh and categorize as well as some plants. Vlad found some snail shells and wanted to see if there were any snails living in them. He found one that was unlike any we had seen before. Unlike a normal shell, it was lime green! Unfortunately, Vlad made a huge mistake by grabbing it.
    A sea witch rose from the water and demanded the shell. We were all too petrified in fear to give it to her. She cursed Vlad and told him that he will become the thing he hates the most. The snail transformed into a large fish and splashed into the water. We were so scared, Danno!
   The rest of the day passed like normal, but it wasn't too long before we noticed a change in Vlad. He started isolating himself and would have random outbursts. Your mom and I tried to be there for him, but he pushed us away. Eventually, he hated us so much he wouldn't go near us. Vlad's life fell apart and it was all because of a mer. I've hated them ever since."
    "What if not all the mers are bad? Ya know like how there's good people and bad people? What if you just met a bad one?"
   "There's no such thing as a good mer," Jack's tone was dark and final. His opinion was set in stone. Danny's heart broke. He could never tell them. Maybe he wasn't blessed. Maybe he was cursed. Maybe he was cursed to become what his parents hate. He was cursed to become a mer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In a dark cavern, evil lay in wait. A shadow of a figure pulled out a key. He stuck the metal into the stone and turned. A red light flared up on a large triangle that was engraved in the wall. Soon there will be enough power. They just had to wait.
Evil had opened the Bermuda Gate.
