One day a few years ago I decided to go for a walk. My betrothed was hanging with a friend who was over and neither wanted to head out so I shrugged and went alone.
My neighborhood is exceedingly safe, there’s a little school right down the street and I’ve never had a worry. It was getting closer to dusk but there was still plenty of summer sunlight laying around.
The route I picked was a circuit, it ends in a cul de sac and spins me back homeward. Along the way is a small manicured loop around some grass. It’s surrounded by trees and shrubberies. There’s a little play place and it’s popular to bring dogs and kids while not technically counting as a park.
As I came up on the loop I saw a young man jogging the circle and no one else. He looked to be about late teens to early twenties. I didn’t think anything of it, it’s a popular place to walk.
But when he spotted me coming he froze. He moved off the trail. I was still a ways off so it seemed oddly preemptive. Then to my surprise he went even further to move back into the bushes.
I hastily took off a headphone so I could listen to my surroundings and texted my betrothed and friend to be like, “Hey, here’s where I am on my walk and there’s some kid making me nervous.”
I aborted my trip on the loop since I would have had to pass by his patch of bushes, and continued down the main sidewalk. To my alarm I saw him moving closer through the bushes and I sped up to clear his hiding spot before he intersected with me. I had one glimpse of his blank staring face from his hiding spot before I was safely passed.
I immediately called my betrothed to be like, “There’s some Bush Boy making me nervous, stay on the phone!” I finished the circuit and had to head back the way I’d come from. My betrothed asked if they should come get me but I was feeling a little silly so I said no. I was jumpy on the walk back but didn’t see him again.
It’s possible that he was just a weird kid but it spooked me. Now my betrothed and I will call someone a Bush Boy if they’re behaving like a creep or we have reason to suspect they’re up to something.
“So-and-so is being a real Bush Boy,” is a common phrase for us. I’ve never seen him again.

i've already talked about their backstory here, so i'll do you one better. now's as good a time as any to post their full ref >:]
and some fun facts under the cut!
-jack is bisexual and non-binary <3 creeper is whatever it feels like in the moment
-they're not like, full rogues. they kind of just do whatever they feel like on a given day. sometimes creeper likes helping bats out and mauling bad guys sometimes it needs to demolish a series of government buildings. it just fucks around and has fun. jack would prefer to take a nap
-jack doesn't really have any need to eat because of the whole. being dead thing. creep however LOVES eating and will either force jack to or when it's behind the wheel just start taking bites out of cars and shit. menace
-jack has very prominent veins around their hands and eyes and lividity in general. again because walking corpse
-they both cant really die. jack is alive for however long creeps likes being in their body, and you can crush stab bludgeon explode that guy and theyll just reform good as new. jack is all of the gotham rogues number 1 punching bag for this reason. they operate on looney tunes logic
-creeper is like a big kitty cat. kind of covered in hair/fur but its kind of wiry and generally unpleasant to touch? besides the mane & tail those are soft. also it purrs
-their relationship with the other rogues is. fine. besides having fun beating them up they kinda leave them alone cause creeper is too much of a freak for most of them. HOWEVER. creeper and harley are MEGA BESTIES OF ALL TIME. creeps is kind of clingy and weird and not great with boundaries but so is she so its a match made in heaven baby

Super freaked out about Nick's upcoming storyline. New boss being all "make sure you're single because you'll be pulling all nighters with me" with the creepy smile. And next episode he's calling himself Daddy and macking on Nick. Nick's going to end up in some weird bondage sitch with iffy consent. I can feel it in my bones. do you know those images of animals absolutely covered in blood after eating a yummy meal. thats what this was inspired by
creeps doesn't, technically, need to eat, just like jack doesn't. it is a good boost of energy, but with their body being dead (and creep's weird abilities letting them do whatever they want anyway), it doesn't give them anything substantial. that doesn't stop creeps from LOVING to eat though
creeper will eat anything and everything. metal. plastic. fruit. concrete. glass. it's part of the reason why it can't be contained, since it'll just chew a hole through anything eventually
creeps does partake occasionally in human snacks, too. human snacks being people that have been turned into snacks. while creeper is not typically bloodthirsty, it is very unpredictable and curious, and usually just follows whatever it's instincts tell it to do - which, sometimes, includes maiming and eating people
but don't worry, it doesn't hunt people very often. ivy and creeps have a deal where it'll take all of the bones and other inedible stuff off of her hands after she's done eating someone. creeps would never pass up easy snackies
