Ashton was actually probably meant to be a sacrifice for the Hishari cult, yeah?
Just highly doubt they intended to bestow power upon a child and what other possible role could a kid play in a ritual like that?

… So, has anyone considered the possibility that 1) Elias and Evandrin could still be out there, and 2) if C3 DOES get into Spelljamming there’s a possibility they could actually run into them?
So, the sparkly place Evandrin ended up, it was because of the experiment with planar travel, yeah? So, different plane, sparkly, starry, Evandrin’s not dead despite the obvious drawback that he can’t have gotten food there, and Tempus was apparently capable of carrying Elias to Evandrin out there. This really feels like it all points back to the Astral Sea. And if it IS the Astral Sea, people do not age there, they don’t need to eat, sleep, etc, so Elias and Evandrin could absolutely still be kicking.
And, with Spelljammer coming to 5e, and all the connections in C3 with Ruidis, including recent reveals, there’s a significant chance that we’re gonna see Bells Hells on a Spelljammer. Now, Spelljamming ships mostly travel through Wild Space, but they CAN reach the Astral Sea. Now, I’d presume Ruidis would be in Wild Space, the Astral Sea is supposed to be pretty far out from the Prime Material, but who knows once you’re on a Spelljammer, maybe they won’t just stop at Ruidis.

Okay so one thing I'm thinking about very intensely right now at our midbreak is the various uses of the words 'warforged', 'automaton', and 'Aeormaton' in Calamity. Because 'Aeormaton' could be a brand name used as generic, just the thing warforged get called during the Age of Arcanum no matter where they were built, the kleenex of sentient robots. Or it could be the name that gets used because the race is, in fact, constructed in Aeor, and then sold or traded or transferred or chose to take themselves to other cities on their own account. Or it could be that only the warforged specifically made in Aeor get that name.
What I'm saying is, I have concerns about leaving Dweomer the Aeormaton alone in a room with four giant battle-bots under her control with the device that can move whole cities between planes, given the chance that she is personally and explicitly herself from Aeor.

Rewatching episode 111 of CR campaign 2 and watching Marisha and Ashley literally crack the whole Nonagon case wide open using only their notes about Molly from earlier in the campaign is so fucking satisfying

This is only serious if it's correct, until that moment I am joking.
They keep focusing on Morri being a good painter.
Jester Lavorre?
Great painter.
Morri = Jester ?

Similar to that post I just reblogged about the weird conspiracy theory assertions you’ll sometimes see on Reddit about Molly’s death, another one I come across all the time is “they won’t kill characters off anymore because they can’t sell merch.”
*gestures broadly to the piles of Molly merch CR sold 2019- present*

P-chan should be cute, pretty, handsome. Appearance-wise, they are perfect. Their gender doesn't matter but I want someone with a body like mine. I don't like nuisances so they have to be calm and collected. They have to be rational so they can comfort me and stop me from making impulsive decisions.
I want them to be independent but not too independent. They'll need me to command them like a pet. Maybe like a bunny? They could be that innocent-looking type but is secretly horny for me hehe. I'll have to work out the details later. But it's fine even if they are unsure about their personality. People like that tend to rely on the self-assured more. Maybe I could even dress up in the clothes I can't wear.
They won't be able to live without me.
“Ohh…it’s soh gud,” Scara moans, her tongue trailing up the melting popsicle before sucking on it. “Mmm…I might get addicted...”
The stream chat floods with comments; majority of it being provocative remarks. Just the reaction she intended. Although Scara hates to be sexualised by her fans, she knows that suggestive content rakes up the viewer count the fastest.
Almost halfway to a month, yet she hasn’t even reached half a million yet. She doesn’t have much time so even if that means that she has to whore herself like this…
“Mmm it’s sticking all over my fingers…” Scara licks the vanilla cream off her fingers, exaggerating her noises as she continues sucking on the popsicle. “It’s a good thing I took off my gloves. Or else it would have been allll over me.”
cauldron-of-anon: you know what else is creamy and drips all over
eunchaeluvr: I LOVE ICE CREAM
bubiblossom: god Im so happy I was born
cinshaberu: big…
leefrfr: that looks good
yourmomsucksme: YESYESYESYESYES
vermillionbun: THANK YOU SCARA
Scara giggles as she licks a strip up the popsicle. Hm, but it’s about time she ended the stream. All this sugary sweet stuff is cloying…ugh. She finishes the popsicle sensually and cleans her hands with a wet wipe.
“Thank you for the meal, it was delicious. I have to meet up with a friend so I’ll respond to the superchats another time.” Scara blows a kiss, mouse hovering over the ‘end stream’ button. “So long suckers!”
You’ve reached another milestone today. It’s funny how the other day, both you and Kunihiko were worried about his stagnancy. Today, he has surpassed 50k subscribers. Since this genre of streams garners the most viewers, maybe it’s okay to ask him to do more sexy streams. Probably not too much though. You don’t want Scara to come out as just another female streamer selling her body for clout. Conspiracy theories seem to do well…that goes for her ‘Scara Tries Things’ series. You’ll have to make her work harder these upcoming days, especially since she’s been slacking off lately. You’ve been trying not to push Kuni too hard but—
You blink as your phone is snatched away from you. “You’re still doing work?”
“Yes, that’s my job as your producer.” You stare at Kuni.
Your boyfriend scowls, grabbing your forearm. “Right now I need you to do your job as my partner.”
You don’t make any effort to resist as Kuni drags you like a ragdoll, grunting when he tosses you onto the bed. You sit there, waiting for Kuni to finish changing and give you your orders for the night. In the meantime, you occupy yourself by looking around.
Kuni didn’t have any requests for a themed room so you chose a classy one. The room was laden with rich reds and blacks, a jacuzzi and a drawer stocked with condoms, lube, all the essentials. In truth, it looked like any expensive hotel room, except that the fee for this one was much cheaper that any 5 star hotel. The good thing about love hotels is that they are soundproof — meaning Kuni is going to make you fuck him all night so he can savour the experience of moaning as loud as he wants without alerting the neighbours. Speaking of which, he wanted you to wear something, didn’t he? It should be the one on the table…
Unveiling the contents of the paper bag reveals an angel-themed lingerie set. The bodysuit is made out of fine white satin, decorated with ribbons at the shoulder straps, tulle around the hips, and etched with cloud patterns. Matching the set of white ribbon garters are sheer cloud-covered unattached sleeves that look like it extends past your elbows, looping around the middle finger to partially cover the top of your hands and leaving the rest bare. Without batting an eye, you shed your clothes off and dress yourself in the gifted outfit.
“Are you done?” Kuni calls from the bathroom after a few minutes.
“Yes.”
You sit on the bed, watching as your boyfriend exit the bathroom. A devilish grin rests on his carmine-lined lips as he sashays in black stilettos. He’s dressed head to toe in black leather — from the bodysuit, to the arm sleeves and stockings — but the bodysuit specifically emits a sort of polychromatic glow, shifting to a shimmering purple under the fluorescent light. The whole outfit hugs his body tight, squeezing his body in certain areas that pulls attention to the exposed skin spilling out his thighs and his chest… Your gaze darts back to his eyes, heart thumping upon realising that he is right in front of you.
Kuni chuckles. “What? You embarrassed?” He takes your hand, placing it on his chest. “Don’t be. I wore this just for you, you know?” Entranced, your eyes follow the movements of his other hand, watching as he unzips the zip on his waist, pushing down the waistband to display the pink, heart-shaped tattoo on his pelvis; resembling those typical womb tattoos you see in hentai. “You’re my sweet, obedient angel. And you’re going to reward this naughty succubus for working so hard for the both of us.” Kuni shoves you down on the bed, letting you sit in your state of shock as he purrs into your ear. "Get your toys. They are on the bedside table."
Sure enough, there's your bullet vibrator and buttplug; the ones Kuni asked you to bring today. You turn the motor to its maximum speed, goosebumps all over your skin as it makes contact with your sex. Next goes the plug, which you make sure to lubricate before inserting it into your puckered hole. When you lift your head, Kuni’s stinging violet gaze is locked upon you, a smirk on his carmine lips as he plays with his covered clit. You immediately turn your attention down, removing his underwear with hurried fingers and latching onto the swollen bub.
Soft thighs wrap around your head as your tongue switches its focus on his leaky cunt. Juices drip all over your tongue as you dive into him, eating him like a gourmet buffet. The whir of the vibrator reverberates off the insulated walls, rousing the fire in your groin that stupefies you into shaking your ass, savouring the sensation of your hole squeezing around the plug. Your eyes flit back up to your lover, his lust-filled eyes fixed onto you. His cunt oozes with ambrosial nectar, and you lap it up like a starved creature, goaded by his saccharine moans. A squeal reveals the arrival of his high, manicured nails digging into the sheets before vitality deserts him, leaving him laying limp on the bed.
The strained, rapid breaths becomes the only source of sound in the room once the motor is turned off. What fills the space of silence is rustling, followed by a click and then followed by a wet noise of viscous liquid. Kuni spreads his legs as your body hovers over him, a tired look on his face. He senses your hesitation.
“Don’t give that look,” he sneers. “I already gave you permission to ruin me. Unless…” he juts his bottom lip out, eyebrows lowered in a display of mockery. “you’re backing away now because you realised you can’t do it. No matter how cool, calm and controlled you think you are, I’m the one who holds dominion over you. Without my orders, you’re hopeless. You don’t know what to do because I’m the one who holds the power. Without me, you’re— ah!!”
His back arches into a crescent as the strap spears him without warning. Without giving him time to adjust, you’re grinding your hips against his, slamming the cock in and out while he cries in pleasure.
“Yes, yes, yes! Use me! Break me! Fix me! Oh god, please, please, please—!”
The force of your thrusts jostles Kuni against the bed, incandescent light shifting the polychromatic purples of his collar that just beckon you to wrap your hand around the thin neck. The added pressure around his neck makes him mewl in delight, hands guiding your free hand up his hips, past his navel piercing, and landing on his chest.
“Touch my boobs…” he rasps.
“I don’t recall giving you permission to order me around,” you say with a bite in your voice, tugging on one of his nipple piercings to make him squeak. “Do I have to punish you for your insolence?” Nonetheless, you turn your attention to his chest, peppering it with kisses and hickeys, suckling on his nipples, all to make the little brat writhe under you.
“(Name)...” he whines. “Punish me, ruin me, I don’t care! I don’t care about anything as long as you need me— aah…think of me and no one else! Want only me, love only me, love me, love me, love— haaah~!! I’m cumming, I’m—!”
His orgasm is signified by a shower of translucent strings streaming out of his soaked cunt, essence staining the floor and sheets in splatters. Kuni wheezes for air once you release the hold on his neck, arms wrapping around you as he basks in the momentary peace.
“Are you okay? Was I too rough?”
“I…I can do it again…” he says in between breaths, pushing himself up with his elbows. “Come on, I’m your…I’m your succubus, aren’t I? You…you have to punish me…”
You shrink back. “Kuni, I really think you need a break—”
A sudden weight thrown onto you interrupts your monologue. You blink, seeing your smirking boyfriend has switched positions with you; with you now underneath him while he’s on top of you.
“Oh I’m much stronger than you think. This body is curated for you…for all of your desires and wants. So, do your worse,” He cusps your cheek, lips covering over yours. “and dig in.”
Kuni kisses you with fervour, determined to infect you with his lust. An unwelcome sense of unease churns instead.
The sharp pain makes Kuni's body tingle with adrenaline, foggy eyes watching scarlet sanguine spill out the wound. His chest rises and falls as he pants, shaking fingers bringing the bloodied blade to slash an untouched portion on his wrist. He lets the high consume him, a penumbra that suppresses the emotional turmoil threatening to boil over the messed up pot that is him. Yet that high is all-consuming, and it begs for more. Cloudy indigos flit up to the mirror, a blurry figure reflecting back his ugly existence and that ugly chest that proves of his inferiority as a man.
"Cut your hair? But you’re the most beautiful with long hair."
"Where did you get those shorts? A pretty girl like you should wear dresses."
"Why does she dress like that?”
"Huh? But…you’re a girl."
Shut up, shut up.
”Kuniko, do you really think that anyone in this world will accept you as a boy?”
Shut up, shut up, shut up shut up shut up—
"Do you want to bleed out?"
Kuni ignores the way his raised hand trembles, grumbling as he glares at the person standing by the door. "Wasn't intending to. But if I die from blood loss, it wouldn’t be a bad thing either."
"I would be upset." You take a step forward, stopping when he inches the razor closer to his chest. "You know, if you wanted to get rid of them, we could always visit a professional. Surgery would be safer–"
“Do you think I give a shit about my safety?!” Kuni screams, beads of tears pouring like a waterfall. “I want to die! I don’t want to exist anymore, why don’t you get it?!”
“What makes you think that I don’t?”
“You…you…” Kuni swallows, his dry mouth making speech a burden.
“Maybe I don’t want to live either," You say. "but I still want you to survive.”
Kuni laughs dryly. “How selfish of you.”
“How ironic of you of all people to say that."
He doesn’t respond to that.
“I need you just as much as you need me. We can’t survive without each other.”
“I know.”
“I’m here because you want me to stop you. You want me to make you feel better.”
“...Yes.”
“How do you want me to do that?"
“...Hold me."
A trace of warmth swathes him; barely there but still enough. Kuni leans against the cold wall, quiet sobs echoing through the tiny room, caged in this claustrophobic space. The air is cold and suffocating, but he knows it will be okay because you’re here. It will be okay, because (Name) is here. (Name) is always with me. (Name) can never leave me. He closes his eyes, letting your gentle scent waft into his nose. He takes apart the scent: an amalgamation of lavender, sandalwood and sage, like the aromatherapy candles he lights. If he focuses, he can feel your warm, calming breaths brushing against his ear, reminding him that you’re there. You’ll always be there for him, and nothing will change that. It takes a while but slowly, his breaths even out, settling into a steady cadence.
You let go of him. His eyes are fixed on the floor.
“Are you okay?” You ask, caressing his dishevelled locks.
His gaze doesn’t leave the floor. “I can handle more than this.”
The sound of muffled shouting interrupts the quiet conversation. Kuni winces, looking at the direction of the disturbance. He recognises the voices but tunes out the repetitive string of words, palms cupping his ears while his back slides down the wall. The voices get louder and louder, accompanied by clashes of porcelain and the collide of wood against other household objects. He doesn’t register that he’s shaking until the familiar warmth surrounds him again.
“Let’s watch KAngel.”

Ok ok ok ok
I have some thoughts on critical role campaign 3 end game and I need to talk them through somewhere. So here we gooooo:
This last episode they spoke about a simultaneous attack. They spoke about infiltration teams and big boy attacks and some other things all happening at the same time and it made my brain light up with all sorts of conspiracy theories.
What if this attack is broken up into different storylines/group episodes?
A few episodes with the mighty nein, a few episodes with the bells hells, a few episodes with ragtag guest stars group (from all campaigns!!!?), a darrington brigade or a slayer's take oneshot, a fucking Vox Machina reunion, etc... all playing into whether or not this works to stop the release of predathos. Like a bunch of group skill checks but in episodic form. Like if the mighty nein mission fails that makes the bells hells mission harder?
This campaign in particular seems very cross reference-y. It also would be a wonderful way to set up a new team if they wanted to create a weird offshoot group that isn't the main CR cast. Something like the new podcast but filmed. Mercer wouldn't keep mentioning through Keyleth all of these forces coming together for nothing, right?!
Can you imagine a group that consists of kash, zhara, reani, keg, Deana, prism, and FRIDA?? I would die. The chaos.
Anyway I'm looking forward to whatever fuckery is coming our way.

A watershed moment for the truth.
February 16, 2024
ROBERT B. HUBBELL
On a day bristling with important news, the criminal indictment of the “star” witness against President Biden and Hunter Biden in the impeachment inquiry was a watershed moment for the truth. Per the indictment, the GOP’s primary source of allegations of corruption against President Biden lied to FBI agents, concocting a fiction for MAGA media outlets and politicians eager to spread slanderous statements.
The revelation that the “impeachment inquiry” against Biden was built on a house of lies comes hard on the heels of an admission from one of the primary proponents of the 2020 election fraud conspiracy theory that it has no evidence to support its allegations of widespread fraud!
Together, the false stories of “Biden’s corruption” and “election fraud” were major components of the GOP playbook in the 2024 presidential election. Those narratives have now collapsed in a spectacular implosion. That collapse is good for President Biden politically—but the immediate political ramification is not the most important point.
The major takeaway is this: The Republican party is built on lies and sustains itself through lies. They know it. We know it. The media knows it. But now, we have proof that the bad-faith headlines, breathless “whataboutism,” and lazy “both-siderism” of the media are part of a disinformation campaign that must stop.
These twin developments are a watershed moment for the truth.
Let’s take a look.
DOJ indicts FBI informant who was the primary source for allegations of corruption against Joe Biden.
The House “impeachment” inquiry has been a conspiracy theory in search of evidence from the start. House Oversight Chair James Comer took testimony from disgruntled IRS agents with no personal knowledge (but plenty of opinions) and from Hunter Biden’s business partner, who said Joe Biden never participated in his son’s business dealings.
Desperate for proof, Republicans turned to a confidential source, Alexander Smirnov, who claimed to have personal knowledge of alleged bribery ($5 million) by then former Vice President Biden arising from Hunter Biden’s involvement in a Ukrainian energy company (“Burisma”).
On Thursday, a grand jury in the Central District of California issued an indictment against Smirnov for lying to the FBI. The indictment is here: US v. Smirnov | Indictment No. 2:24-CR-00091-ODW. For a summary of the indictment and related details, see NYTimes, Ex-F.B.I. Informant Is Charged With Lying Over Bidens’ Role in Ukraine Business.
Per the Times,
The longtime informant, Alexander Smirnov, 43, is accused of falsely telling the F.B.I. that Hunter Biden, then a paid board member of the energy giant Burisma, demanded the money to protect the company from an investigation by the country’s prosecutor general at the time.
Importantly, the indictment alleges a political motivation for Smirnov to lie about Biden:
Mr. Smirnov’s motivation for lying, prosecutors wrote, appears to have been political. During the 2020 campaign, he sent his F.B.I. handler “a series of messages expressing bias” against Joseph R. Biden Jr., including texts, replete with typos and misspellings, boasting that he had information that would put him in jail.
Smirnov’s allegations were demonstrably false, as explained by the Times:
In 2015 or 2016, Hunter Biden promised to protect the company “through his dad, from all kinds of problems,” Mr. Smirnov falsely claimed to his bureau handler in 2020, according to Mr. Weiss, who has charged the president’s son twice over the past year on tax and gun charges. This claim was easily disproved, prosecutors said: Mr. Smirnov was only in contact with Burisma executives in 2017, after Mr. Biden left office — when he “had no ability to influence U.S. policy.” Mr. Smirnov told F.B.I. investigators that he had seen footage of Hunter Biden entering a hotel in Kyiv, Ukraine, that was “wired” by the Russians, suggesting that Russia may have recorded phone calls made by Mr. Biden from the hotel, according to the indictment.
But Mr. Biden had never been to Ukraine, let alone that hotel, prosecutors wrote.
Importantly, the indictment was obtained by special counsel David C. Weiss, who was appointed by Merrick Garland to investigate Hunter Biden. Weiss—who was first appointed as a US Attorney by Donald Trump—has obtained two indictments against Hunter Biden for gun possession and tax evasion charges.
The fact that Smirnov was indicted by the special counsel appointed to investigate Hunter Biden rebuts any notion that the indictment is politically motivated.
Smirnov’s false statements provided the only substantive allegations in the sham “impeachment inquiry” in the House and received massive coverage by an eager news media (especially on Fox News). Those news organizations should retract or correct their previous reporting. It is not enough to report on the indictment of Smirnov.
The most important point is that the GOP’s narrative of a “Biden crime family” is a fiction based on perjured statements provided to the FBI! Tell a friend!

Has your work with the wiki informed how you interact with the fandom? Scrutinizing the source material so closely and all.
Oh definitely, and this is a great question.
I think, without getting too deep into weeds or bitterness, that my attitude towards aggressively non-canonical (or, frankly, anti-canonical) interpretations of ships or characters has shifted both because of my negative experiences with the Fandom wiki and because I effectively have to go over the happenings of each episode two or three times. Additionally, my deep dislike and distrust of conspiracy theories long pre-dates my work on wikis or even involvement with fandom, but now that I spend a decent amount of "fandom time" looking up citations, I have even less patience for it. There are so many wonderful sources beyond just the wiki! We have a transcript search! We have Dani's recaps! We have so many sourcebooks! We have a talkback/commentary show! Please, while I'd love for people to use and add to the wiki, at the very least, if you don't have time to watch or rewatch episodes in full, use these wonderful resources instead of relying on like, someone's personal silly little clip compilations to shape your understanding.
In terms of far more positive things, I think because wiki pages are changing, living documents, going back to them has given me a lot of insight that I might have forgotten. To give an example - just now, in summarizing the party's trip towards Yios, I ran across the fact that Imogen was asked if she wanted to give up her powers - if there were a cure, whether she'd take it - and she responded that while once she felt that way, she no longer does. I think Imogen's relationship with power is fascinating, and I think this puts her in contrast with Liliana in a new and interesting way that I'd love to explore further once we return to more direct conflict. This small moment says so much, but I'd forgotten it in the several months since it aired, and probably wouldn't have accessed again if I were not a wiki editor. I've also been doing a lot of work on editing out plagiarism, or fleshing out largely overlooked details, and it's a delight to get to revisit prior campaigns and see how everything fits together. I get both a very high level view of the world, and also get to zero in on tiny moments, like Veth shooting Caleb in the Vellum Steeple library, and I'm so grateful I get to relive that, and often my meta is informed by what I'm working on and what details I'm immersed in and the connections they spark.
Finally - while I'm obviously super opinionated here, on Tumblr, I think it's a really good and important exercise that I also spend time in a place where I need to consciously prioritize a neutral voice and give attention even to things I dislike. This is an entirely separate post so I won't derail myself but I think part of why I sometimes get extremely bizarre anons/responses is that I'm both someone who talks about CR on the whole, but also am open about my preferences (rather than running a blog that's highly focused on one character/ship nor being a true generalist blog that primarily reblogs art). Anyway, working on the wiki means that, for example, even if I'm really frustrated with an episode or a character or a relationship, I need to spend time and stop and ask myself what is actually happening, outside of my own feelings. I think this is a really good practice to have with fiction! I think you need to be able to do both and compartmentalize and switch between them; to say "what is the author/creator trying to say and how are they saying it and what is literally occurring" and also "how do I, an individual with my own unique perspective, feel about what's happening." Or at the very least, if you can't do this, you can still enjoy yourself, but you will always be preaching to the choir.

The Mythical "Arrogant Localizer."
Too often I find a perpetuation of this narrative, especially with A.I. set to wiz all over Anime subtitles, that translators or ADR Script Writers had it coming. That they dared to tamper with the original by "changing personalities" and "pushing agendas" so much that CR decided to axe them for the politically neutral A.I.
Here's the thing:
Whenever some weeb claims that a translator was arrogant or "couldn't listen to criticism," it's not that they're acting like they know better. It's because they do know better.
They know that Japanese words or sentences can't be translated one-to-one into English, owing to how each country that the originate from were world's apart before global travel grew in scale.
They know that context and setting matters, especially in the case of something like Fire Emblem where characters in a medivel-esque setting would likely speak not unlike Shakespeare characters.
They know that each character has a distinct voice. An honorable Samurai like Goemon is going to have a more refined sense of speaking compared to the wise-cracking Lupin or the sardonic Jigen.
They know, especially, that humor based on puns or cultural references won't always work from one language to another.
Know what they also know? That 4kids was actually not good. They grew up during the days of dubs being borderline overhauled because of a poor sense of marketing. They'd prefer to not go back to there because they actually love Anime.
Of course, a lot of them are beholdened to what their clientelle want for their title's international distribution. Thus those who's produced the Anime they're bringing over are entitled to step in and object if they so choose. There have been incidents like that but that they get rectified speaks to the level of quality control these days.
Like... Brendan Blaber's attempted changes with Love Complex were unilaterally shot down. He was an jerky freelancer who did ADR script writing and overstepped his boundaries.
And all of this are things that translators on Twitter will affirm. I get the allure of the conspiracy theory. Of trying to figure out what's really going on and that those in the industry wouldn't dare reveal their nefarious plans.
But if we're going to have any conversation about translation and what's too far for the localization process, we need to take off out tin hats to focus on what we currently have to work off of. Either that or apply for a job in translation and see things from the inside for yourself.
Furthermore, if any of these translators seem "testy" or "unable to take criticism," it's that they keep going on and on about their choices in translation and how the theory overall goes. Yet so many are too eager to paint them as the villains and won't listen to a damn word.
Frankly, they should be angry. Social Media has broken down the divide between fandom and those who work on their shows where you gotta kowtow to what the former wants or you're the bad guy. Even when you try to debunk misconceptions and misinformation, they still want their lightening rod for their ire.
So no wonder they seem like assholes. They're just done entertaining those who will never, ever, ever see them as anything other than the villain.
But even assuming that they’re everything outrage merchants have marketed them as, AI in Anime on any level isn’t a win in any sense. It’s starts with subtitles, then voice acting (and we all know how authentic those sound) and soon it’ll make its way over to Japan.
Animators dying or being hospitalized because they won’t be good little cogs for the corporate machine? A.I. ain’t asking for time off. Voice Actors complaining about salaries? AI ain’t asking for pay period.
But you know what? Let CrunchyRoll invest in this. Let them try to hoard more money… and crash n’ burn in the process. Because it’ll take a popular title being subtitled with very erroneous lines to make the webs wake up. Nothing like a few Titanics to scare the straight.

So my goal for this year is to get back into writing again. Several things last year kinda of made me realize that the fact that I have trouble with writing isn't not a me problem. It is just how writing is. And that I should give it a try again. So I am going to give it a more serious try. Now the problem of what to fucking write.
Sure I could finish the WIP from years ago but I am not really in that fandom anymore. Maybe one day I will pick it up again. But instead I am just going to write down some ideas here. From one my notebook of fanfic ideas. I should find my other one that has more fic ideas in it.
In no particular order lets go.
Percy De Rolo being pen pals with Anne Riply- I always imagine that the bit of Percy life that we saw in the campaign/show was the cleaner version of the events. I am full conspiracy theory that Percy was closer to Riply before murders. It never really made since that the Briarwoods just somehow got a dinner invitation to a very influenational noble family like the DeRolo's. It makes sense that they planned on how to inflitrate. Corrupting a tree from inside. The betrayel of incredibly smart Percy who feels left out of the family. He isn't the heir, he isn't particulary worldly, or physically strong. He is the smart one. Enter Anne who at first is just humoring then goes 'oh shit' he is smart and tries to corrupt him. Lots of ways this can go. Percy whump is one of my favorite things to read. This is probably only going to be pre canon.
Percy Seven Swans AU - I love the seven swans myth. So family cursed instead of murdered. Definitely not canon. Orthax requireing Percy to make Automatons? Chain mail, Mech hearts? Or resisdium stuff.
CR Campaign 2 Avatar Au - This is so bare boned in my book. All I have is Cad being bullied and a few elements assigned to people. So pass not gonna do this one.
CR Campaign 2 Soc Media AU- Yeaaa noooo I like Soc Media au. But this has even less than the avatar au. Just premise no prompts. Also modern au's are hard for me to write.
CR Campaign 2 - Caleb is a prince of the Dwendalian Empire. This is a headcannon that I have. But it doesn't make much since for Trent to be as obessed with Caleb as he is. Sure Caleb is a flawed prodigy. But to keep him alive for 10 years in a mental ward instead of killing him? Why do that? Makes more sense if Caleb is an illegiatment prince of the Dwendal family. The current heir is a miltary man right? Makes since he might have children out of wedlock. And his wife is looking for a cure to her fertility problems. What better than a prince you have under your thumb? The Cerberus Assembly is a shadow goverment already. But thats it that all my thoughts. And it would have to be a long fic to do it any justice. There are a lot of Royalty AU's in CR2. But most of them have someone else as the Royal. I also like the idea of Caleb becoming King then abdicating and making a democracy.
Next in old Journal is prompts from a year old Whumptober month. So lets see if there are any gems there.
Kaladin Stormblessed having stitches overgrown from stormlight. Ouch.
Sandry fa Toren from Circle of Magic- dealing with isolation. I think sandry has the hardest time connecting with people. Being a noble and having her friends be away all those years. She doesn't fit easily in noble society and the working class isn't at ease with her.
Midorya from MHA - dealing with chronic pain and challenges from all the injuries he has. This is a possibilty but I am so out of the MHA fandom.
Luffy from One Piece - Rubber has got to changed your sense of touch right? Probably dulls it. No wonder luffy glomps on people if all everything is muted.
2 different Log Horizon fic ideas! - Shiroe was in the game for much longer than anyone else. No wonder he is well known. People think he is an npc but he was just there for longer. And second idea Log Horizon Soulmate idea. The other world just has soulmates. Shiroe and Akasuki. I would have to refresh my knowledge of that fandom.
Hopefully this gets my wheels turning. Also anyone is welcome to grab these ideas and run with them.

Okay, I've been behind on cr campaign 3 for a good while now and am catching up quite quickly. But, in the meantime i didn't go out of my way to dodge spoilers and stuff, so I knew more or less what it'll happen. And i just watched the episode where the gang finds lord Eshteross dead after Imogen sees it in her dream and i combined that info with what was revealed this episode and developed a little theory.
So Imogen doesn't always have visions of people 'walking into the storm' when they die. But all the people who did die that way have something in common (for as far as i can remember at least this could be entirely wrong if i remember this is false).
They are all killed by people who work for the exalted/the 'pro-ruidus' conspiracy. People who are known to use an ultra rare poison that blocks devine magic. Now we learn about 'Predathos' an entity that specifically targets gods.
So i'm thinking maybe this all is connected. Maybe this rare potion is created by or of this godeater. Like an extraction of his power or whatever. And because this poison is linked to Predathos and thus to ruidus and thus to the ruidusborn. And that's why imogen could see those deaths and not say, Laudna who didn't die with this poison involved.
I could even take this a little step further and say that maybe the poison kind of binds your soul to ruidus/predathos where he claims your sould upon death making it unable to be retrieved by said devine magic. But this part i'm less confident about and Bertrand's final words probably disprove this. (Edit before final posting: oh yea Orym seeing Will in his afterlife also probably disproves this)
Also as i said i'm behind and working on half information for some things so feel more that free to point out mistakes or tell me I'm missing something somewhere. Or heck maybe the cast/the fandom already made this connection and discussed it to death beneath my notice. I just made the connection and thought it was fun to talk about.

What are your Top 5 All Time Favorite DND campaign moments? Doesn't matter if you're a player or DM.
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER
We made a session where the players were asked by a gold dragon to retrieve a globe from an anti dragon town, only to have the globe hatch into a baby gold dragon the players had to sneak out of the city
I dm’d a section where players uncovered an abandoned cultist lair to Vecna. They found a hand and eye made of human teeth, a room of self harm, then in a library a voice spoke to them. The ranger had a passive perception of 20 and was scared shitless when they couldn’t see the source. It was a nothic, a CR 5 dude when the party was six peeps at lvl 12.
Bodying Strahd when he came to fuck up our party with a nat 20 to tackle this man. 8ft minotaur fighter bulldozing the dark domain’s big bad.
I dm’d a solo session around the conceit that Pelor might be evil AND PULLED IT OFF. There’s a big conspiracy theory that Pelor may be a demon prince instead of a holy deity. So I made a gothic horror town like Innistrad centered around Pelor, only for the player to discover Pelor shackled the world’s version of the devil to the land who continues to cause suffering.
Saving this for all the npc’s I’ve made my buds have loved and adored: Taenth the brass dragon who hoards lifelong loves, Imro the lovable big grump of a red dragon, Jubilance the one in the throuple who reminds everyone to drink water, Yeen the boisterous gnoll merchant, Belorrel the secret dragon in a human town with a penchant for pastry making, Alixi the ex yuan ti guard who seeks outer peace, Fletch the plucky half-fiend aarakocra with a beast of a wild shape, Sir Rokas the leonin leader who’s mentor to many, its your love of my characters that makes me want to dm.

I decided to look up the incident with Brian W Foster because of your post and uh. The man really did just put anyone on blast for even the mildest of critiques huh.
It's certainly a mess. For those not in the know, the post in question is here, and a lengthy write-up on BWF (from September 2022) can be found here.
The thing is, I can kind of understand how he got to be that way. CR1 fandom had pretty notorious incidents where people harassed the cast for various reasons—Broomgate, Raishan Shot First, Anytime Marisha Ray Breathes Incorrectly is an Affront to God and Mankind, etc—and if what I understand is true, Matt and Marisha actually had to take legal action about some of it. There's traces of it in the comments sections of VM episodes on YouTube, where none but the bravest or the dumbest dare to tread, but the general culture was very reactionary, largely toward Marisha, Liam, Laura, and Taliesin, roughly in that order. (Take a few guesses why.)
Then there was Campaign 2, which is where the show started to find an even bigger and louder audience among people who were a bit more in tune with the changing winds of what was acceptable in fandom. Take this with a grain of salt because I haven't watched CR2, but this appears to be where CR fandom started to be populated by the kinds of people who wouldn't openly denigrate a female cast member, but who would be perfectly happy to, say, harass other cast members or come up with conspiracy theories centered around the show being homophobic for making one wlw ship happen and not another. CR2 fandom would and will tear the show and each other apart over the littlest things, and frankly the only thing that differentiates them from the former CR1 fandom is their politics. And the cast had, to one degree or another, been active on social media and made it known they were active on social media, which meant they saw a lot of this, some of it aimed personally at them.
So like...I get it. I get why BWF might have started to respond that way. When all you have is a hammer and you're in a room full of nails, it can be difficult and tiring to check and see if they're actually screws before hammering them. But when you have over 100,000 twitter followers who are perfectly happy to swarm people at your direction, perhaps you ought to put down the hammer entirely.
