The Jinbok Origin Story
One of the benefits of being toddler ARMY is the amount of content that you still have to watch and the connections you make as you watch them. Taehyung's Running Man teaser made me think of Jin on Running Man, and then got me looking for some more Jin content to watch and let's face it what better way to connect with the originator of Eat Jin than a cooking show.
So the show is called "Chef and my Fridge" or "Please take care of my fridge" and Jin and Jimin appeared on it in October 2017. The idea behind the show is to bring the refrigerator from your home (in this case the BTS dorm) look through the contents and then give two chefs 15 minutes to make a delicious meal with what they find there. The first clip explores the food that BTS have access to in their dorm. Not surprisingly it is pretty poor pickings. Lots of drinks, instant rameyon, chicken sausages, and copious tins of whelks.

So then the poor chefs are given their ingredients and get to work. Chef Yoo Hyunsoo decides to make a whelk version of pad thai with chicken sausages disguised as shrimps. Yep you heard right.
Chef Lee Yeonbok, on the other hand, decides to make kkanpunggi style whelks as well as a whelk cream soup. This is when I started thinking, "hmmm I've seen this guy somewhere before".
So 15 minutes is not a long time and they are both running with the disadvantage that Jimin has already stated that he doesn't like seafood and whelks are the main ingredient.
Then Jin says that BTS love kkanpunggi and always order it at the Chinese restaurant. Scales are tipping in Chef Lee's favour.
This is the face Jin makes when Chef Lee crushes the garlic with his big chopper. Love is in the air.
Both dishes look pretty impressive and Jimin is stunned that all this was made with ingredients from the BTS fridge.
Sadly for Chef Yoo Hyunsoo the sausage shrimps fail to convince but what do they think of Chef Lee's food?
Jin is effusive in his praise but can Jimin be persuaded to enjoy seafood?
The kkanpunggi is a resounding success but what about the cream soup?
Oh yes, the writing is on the wall and Chef Lee is the outright winner of the competition.

What he didn't realise at the time is that he had won another prize. Jin asked for his phone number after the show.
It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

He even appeared in Jin's cooking vlog last year, one of the top three vlogs from the guys at least for me. Jin is a rare and strange human being but he seems to be pretty straightforward in his relationships. If he picks you, you have a friend for life. I was late to the party in appreciating Jin but now he has a special place in my heart.

Just a little reminder that since coming home from a crazy amount of Jikookery in Vegas in April, we've had:
--waiting deliberately to ride home from the airport in a car together
--JK singing With You on his vlog
--Jikook giggling and holding hands in the dark at Hobi's party
--JK accepting Kookmin Are Dating and Jimin's Little Finger into his In the Seom circle even though they had fewer experience points
--JK's tattoo artist inking JM and JK on his own arm

--Jimin giggling and chasing JK over eating ramen (knowing about his gluten intolerance before it was public)
--JK flirting in the car while sucking on corn ice cream
--JK smacking the hell out of Jimin's ass and doing couples flying yoga
--Jimin coming to visit JK in the dead of night for his birthday, bringing his own cake, snapping that intimate photo, posting on WeVerse two days in a row despite the fact he was also working in the studio that whole time

--JK saying twice that he'll join Jimin on a live soon if he has time

--Jimin posting about how cool JK's World Cup performance was.
Now look, they've both been busy with work and travel. What raises doubts about if Jikook are still close is the fact that JK goes out (seemingly mostly alone) to so many meat restaurants. I saw one video of him joining another person outside, but it was too shaky to make out much of anything. The coat and jeans looked similar to what Jimin wore to the airport for NYC, but I can't say that with any certainty so please take that with a grain of salt.
After 10 years of having every second of his life scheduled and strict diets, GOOD FOR JK. A restaurant tour of Korea while Jimin is holed up in the studio is a lovely idea, especially since it seems he's not super into cooking for himself.
Here's where fandom gets sticky.
JK also went bowling with Tae and friends, and did a TikTok dance challenge with Taehyung, who mentioned JK frequently before Taehyung went to Paris. Seems like there were plans for them to do a gaming live similar to Jin's but time didn't allow for it.
There's also unsubstantiated rumors of them going skiing this week with other people. You know, friendship things. Positive, healthy, harmless things you do with friends when you are young. It definitely suggests closeness, but not necessarily sexy times? People made a lot of assumptions that JK came right from the airport and spent the night in a luxury villa with Taehyung, but, actually, Taehyung is friends with the owners, and JK's pants are different than what he wore at the airport, and it could have been filmed at dusk, not dawn. Maybe they just, ya know, wanted to do a cool TikTok vid since their versions weren't included on the official choreo version Hobi posted.
What worries some folks is that there's no evidence of Jikook even doing friendship things since Vegas. Which, again, PJM1 is consuming Jimin's time... Plus also remember that whole traumatizing few months of mail tampering, doxxing, scandal in the press overshadowing Jimin's unpromoted OST, governmental manipulation over the Expo, stocks tanking, and military enlistment, plus rampant hate online and sometimes even death threats?
Those are all really good reasons to not share one's personal life or hint at a closeted homosexual relationship. Even under the cover of friendship and group outings, Jimin just may be sick of the scrutiny. He's not been going out with ANYONE.
And yes, it's fair to say that Jikook normally are always together and never really hid that before. I mean, there is an ENTIRE POP UP MUSEUM DEDICATED TO ALL THEIR INTERACTIONS. No other members have anything like it.
But 2022 is unlike any other year they've had before either.
Also something to think about: Jimin once recently mentioned that he and Taehyung Facetime each other practically every day. (It was during the live when he shared that Taehyung was the one who inspired Jimin's moon tattoos based on fan art he showed Jimin.) Think about that Vmin hug on the Busan stage--it was a chef's kiss. Just this week, Jimin insisted on a selca with Tae and Jin on his own phone.
We can assume their friendship is rock solid, but we rarely see much evidence of them interacting in their off time. In fact I cannot think of the last time Jimin and Taehyung hung out in person when not for a work thing. I can't imagine they are faking affection or bed hoping with JK. I don't require proof of them doing things together to think their friendship is real.
Maybe we could do the same for Jikook? Even if they don't post a selca this year? Yeah, it's a bummer, but it's not divorce papers, y'all.
Can I say for sure Jikook dated / are still dating? NO. I can't say that about any point in their relationship, actually. But I keep reminding myself to be patient, wait things out, because more always comes out.
There's all these little things, like JK knowing that Jimin won't be drinking champagne, but having no idea that Taehyung had given up alcohol for two months.
Clues always come out eventually.
I'll be so curious to see what happens after PJM1 drops. Will Jimin do very little promo, like with his OST? Will there be multiple videos, with choreo? Will his members be silent about this work too? Will he have more free time and thus poke his head up more? Or will he continue to be a lil ninja? I dunno. I'll be supporting him no matter what.
And even if his members don't publicly hype him up, I won't just assume that means they are jealous or don't care about him. Like Jin said: "Post, it's good. No post, it's still good." Will I be a bit unnerved? Honestly, yeah. But Jimin knows Jimin's situation best.
The honest truth is this: none of us KNOW what's going on with any of the members' relationships except the members. And that's how it should be because that's their business. They only owe us good music and dance performances. The rest is icing on the cake.
It's totally okay if you believe this is just one of those dry spells Jikook has over the years. It's valid if you think they broke up and are just being good friends and coworkers at a distance. If your gut is telling you Taekook is now real, I can't say I agree with you, but I'll never come into your spaces and argue with you.
It's up to you to seek out reliable sources of info and then make your own judgement call, if you feel if you have enough data. This isn't a cult. You are not required to "keep the faith" about anything.
Two months ago, Jikook were Jikooking like always. Now Jimin is quiet (except to tell us to keep warm and not get sick, bless his heart). And Jungkook and Taehyung are showing us they hang out (as they have done in the past--restaurants, gaming, trips with Wooga--though perhaps now they are doing it a bit more than when they all had an OT7 schedule).
And so the silence from Jikook and the hanging out from Taekook has the cult all whipped up and Jikookers feeling unsettled. I get it. It's normal to feel your feels. But also be sure to math your math.
Me? I honestly have no clue what's going on. I still feel like we're seeing so little of the full picture, it would be wise to withhold judgement quite yet. I tell myself: Be patient. Trust the members. There are things they can't tell us, but if we trust their words, that would be good.
In the meantime, please stream and vote and buy albums. That's our main job as Army, regardless of ship or bias. Soon all our boys will be serving, and the drought will be very very real. So let's try to celebrate, smile, and laugh about what we still can, okay? I think they'd want us to focus on that.

The Princes as Youtubers
Leon would have a mukbang channel. Not asmr specifically, but a casual channel where he eats food and talks about different things. He interacts with his audience really well and he even offers advice sometimes. His following might be small, but everyone is so friendly and he has a great community.
Yves would have an asmr culinary channel. Sometimes he puts peaceful piano music, other times it’s just the natural cooking sounds. He doesn’t show his face or speak, often communicating through the subtitles (he also uses cute emoticons). His audience probably really like his hands, and don’t urge him for a face reveal. Yves has the highest quality videos with stunning shots and angles, and clean, crisp audio. He also has the cutest kitchen utensils.
Licht would have a channel dedicated to horses. He also doesn’t show his face or talk, and uses the asmr format. He does videos on shoeing, cleaning, and caring for the horses. Occasionally, he might vlog the cute and funny moments and make a compilation video. Licht doesn’t upload often, but when he does, he’s always met with positive feedback. He will also try to answer questions his audience has about anything horse related.
Jin would perhaps be some kind of... alcohol reviewer? I honestly don’t know what kind of youtuber Jin would be. He probably wouldn’t post much anyways, opting to be a viewer rather than a content creator. He always supports his brothers by leaving encouraging comments.
Chevalier is a youtuber against his will. His channel would be called, ‘Reading with Chev’ and Clavis runs the account. Clavis just sets up a camera and films Chev reading for hours, so another asmr channel. Nothing’s edited, it’s literally just Chevalier sitting in his chair in his library, reading. No music, no talking, no nothing. Just the sound of his faint gentle breathing and the turning of pages. The videos always end when Chevalier snaps the book shut and gets up. It fades to black as his footsteps recede. By far the most dedicated fanbase. The comments are filled with how handsome he is, how they wish he was their boyfriend, and, “OMG He breathed at *insert timestamp*”
Clavis had a prank channel that peaked in 2016. He still uploads, but he doesn’t make as much money. So he decided to film his brother while he was reading and upload the parts where he does something embarrassing like picking his nose or something. But it was just mind-numbingly boring. So as a prank for his followers, he uploaded three hours of Chevalier reading and nothing happening.
Nokto would just be a vlogger/influencer. Again, I genuinely don’t know what kind of content creator he would be. Maybe he would just vlog his trips? Endorse products? Do whatever it is that influencers do.
Luke would be too lazy to be a youtuber. But he would make videos about honey obviously. Probably videos about bees too. I think he would have a ginormous jar of honey and he comes up with different things to make with it. I think he would also make some jams and syrups or something. Not too many uploads, but a lot of footage and drafts.

This week's wrap up:
Bad Decisions:
Pure pop, catchy tune. A chair dancing beat...you know like if you are sitting at your desk you can't help but wiggle your ass in your chair... Fun to sing along with. It does have a tinge of Adam Levine (Maroon 5) in the oooooh, aaaaahh. The promo leading up was brilliantly different. Good job, Benny. I am glad he was able to get Snoop Dogg in on this. For me, Snoop's part was not what I expected, I enjoyed his presence on the track. The song is added to my playlist rotation.
The entire BTS vocal line sounds fantastic as expected. But you know I am gonna gush a little harder about Jungkook and Jimin's vocals.
Jungkook's vocals always feel like he's holding my hand when I hear his voice, his vocals are strong and steady and Jimin's sexy vocal fry is like the extra sprinkle of sugar or glitter that always makes a song sparkle. They need to really try to get a song(s) together for the both of them. They would kill it.
The video was funny, and I guess we should have expected something like this and yes, I was a little let down when there was no sign of the vocal line in it. But overall, it was fun. Benny started the day 13 hours before a BTS concert. And good luck getting that cake icing smell out of that car (I think it was a Tesla hahahaha).
The lyrics fiasco/debacle. Did Jimin sing "man" or "name"? His pronunciation was impeccable and it sounded like "I want your name" to me from the very first time I heard it. If indeed the lyric really was "man," I could only imagine it was intentionally pronounced like "main" and why would Jimin sing it like that? But since it is supposed to be "name" I don't know what Apple Music's deal was...Freudian slip?
In the Soop: Friendcation
I had intended to watch all the episodes of In the Soop: Friendcation but only with English subs. If anyone has a link to the programs with english subs and it's also a site where I do not have to sign up to view, I would greatly appreciate. I did not sign up for Disney+ just for that show. I have only been able to watch the first episode so far. The place where they stayed looks very very nice. I see where people posted snippets of where Hobi and Tae did a facetime call. Interesting. When did they shoot footage for the shows? I heard it was this past December, but also could have been anytime from then through March because it was freakin' cold then, remember how they were worried about Armys freezing to death during PTD Seoul?
Jimin in LA
Already posted about Jimin being in LA. Hobipalooza was last Sunday and today is Friday and as far as we know, Jimin is still in the States. I can't wait to find out what he's been doing here. Rumors are flying about a collab with Khalid.
Looking forward to (pretty sure it will be) Jungkook's Vlog this weekend. FIGHTING! Gasp! What if it's Jin camping and fishing! and Jungkook is doing cooking next week? Remember he said he had been looking up "how to grill" videos during his hiatus damage control V Live. Ha ha, just kidding. But we'll see.

☆ Aina + Sujin = AiJin
Aina and Su-Jin have the purest sibling-like relationship.
When Aina first moved to Korea, Su-Jin started learning Japanese to help her feel more at home.
Su-Jin treats Aina like her baby sister by feeding her and always reciprocating her skin-ship.
When the other members (jokingly) gang up on Aina, Su-Jin is always the first to defend her and will fight them off 1v5.
Aina loves to annoy/tease Sujin (because she falls for it so easily), but she can never stay mad at her for long.
☆ Aina + Haeun = HaNa
This isn't specific to Aina, but Ha-Eun's love language is cooking for others, so she cooks a lot of food for Aina and asks her to taste it.
Aina is can be quiet at times, but around Ha-Eun, it's like she's been infected by her energy.
Ha-Eun and Aina are both touchy, so it's not uncommon to see them hugging each other or holding hands.
They most definitely need to be separated in serious situations because they can make a joke out of anything.
You will almost always see either of the two interrupting eachothers interviews on their BTS MV/concert vlogs.
Also, you'll often hear both of their loud, iconic laughs in the back of vlogs and other members lives.
☆ Aina + Aecha = ChAi
Although every member looks after her, Aecha probably spends the most time at Aina's studio, reminding her to eat and take breaks.
Even when she's not nagging her, Aecha will sometimes go up to her studio and just sit by her, giving opinions on songs when asked.
ChAi is a bit less skin-ship heavy than most of Aina's other ships, but you'll still occasionally catch them holding hands when walking in public.
Aina ‘hates’ Aecha's butt taps, so Aecha literally has to chase Aina down just to get a hit in.
Aecha sees a lot of her younger self in Aina, especially when they were trainees, so she tries to protect her and act like the older sister Aina never had.
ChAi is Aina's least popular ship because they don't have many on-camera moments.
☆ Aina + Eunjeong = AiJeong
Eunjeong normally hates any sort of aegyo and boos the other members' attempts.
However, when Aina does it, she cheers her on.
It would be rare to see them hug or cuddle, but Aina occasionally leans on Eunjeong or fiddles with her hand.
They both work together a lot on music and end up spending a lot of time together.
This means there are a plethora of AiJeong studio lives of when they mostly Jeong get tired of working.
Aina loves to mock Eunjeong when she rolls her eyes and makes disgusted reaction faces (and I think it's started to rub off on her).
☆ Aina + Dambi= AiBi
Aina and Dambi genuinely enjoy hanging out with each other in silence (I think Dam-Bi has this effect on anyone, to be honest).
Since they're both homebodies, when the other members are out with their friends, they'll go to eachothers apartments just to be together.
Similar to Eunjeong, they spend a lot of time working on music with each other.
But unlike AiJeong, AiBi lives are very rare.
Dambi will literally let herself be thrown around and touched by Aina and will just be stood there like ._. , completely unbothered.
However, there are many compilations of Dam-Bi sitting on Aina's lap.
☆ Aina + Nari = 2Na (TuNa)
TuNa is definitely Aina's most popular duo.
This is also Aina's only real ‘romantic ship’ and there are many dedicated TuNa fan pages on social media.
Aina and Nari are both extremely clingy, so you'll often see the cuddling in vlives, holding hands when they walk and sleeping together.
They love to fight each other teasingly because the other will always fight back with the same energy.
They are obviously just friends, but they do a lot of suggestive things, too.
For example, a viral pocky clip where neither of them backed away, and Nari ended up biting Aina's lip suayeon insp.

Biography
Scooted by SM then Big Hit, Jin joined the second because he knew Bang Sihyuk’s name. Changing his plan to become an actor to becoming an idol, he worked tirelessly to learn singing, dancing and later composing.
Despite his shyness, Jin has become a bright figure of the group and an essential support for the members. He has invested himself in several personal projects to show ARMY his appreciation. He notably organized on his own the heart event where during the encore of each concert, he would come on stage with a heart he made himself.

「 white day boy LGC OPEN EVENT 007 」
about a week before his birthday jinyoung is called to the kitchens of the lgc cafe with one mission in mind: to create the best special menu for his birthday he could come up with. glad that he had the assistance of the staff at hand, the male took a look at the ingredients laid out before him and humming in thought. “can we use everything?” the joke leaves his lips after a long moment of silence as he tried to contemplate what he wanted to use flavour wise. it was a nice opportunity to allow them to give their input when setting up a nice cafe event already in the first place but jinyoung was so overwhelmed with options in that moment, he genuinely couldn’t decide. it didn’t help that he was a sweet-tooth and could about devour anything being made with these ingredients.
“hmmm but I think... white chocolate?” he looks up as the staff points out how his birthday is on white day and jinyoung just hums with a smile. “maybe not as romantic as valentines but still pretty cool.”
after another long moment of looking everything over he placed his palms flat on the counter. “alright. I think I know what I want. lets go for the white love theme! white chocolate and hmm something fruity to balance the sweetness... cherries? I feel like strawberries are something reserved more for christmas or valentines even. cherries is a nice change and it’s still red so...,” drifting off he slowly gets to work, careful in his craft and determined to not mess up in the kitchen.
the moment he slides his white chocolate cherry scones into the oven he turns back to the counter and begins to stir a pot of milk with melting white chocolate inside. “just plain white chocolate would be too simple, right?” with a hum he nods along to majority of the staff agreeing, lips pressed together while he continues to stir away carefully. he ends up garnishing the white chocolate with whipped cream and pink chocolate hearts sprinkled atop the surface, a bit of cherry coloured and flavoured powder sugar to finish his creation. “I’ll call it new heart choco and as for the scones...” the male turns around, garnishing them in the same manner before placing both items next to each other for a nice finishing visual. “young love scones. since shin almost sounds like jin and young speaks for itself. so it’s fitting for the occasion but still relating to me.”
the male wraps up his impromptu cooking vlog by holding the items towards the camera before taking a bite off the scone. “hmmm young love indeed!”
