it is so incredibly sad to constantly see kids on instagram and tiktok who are younger than my brother have to literally beg for shelter, food, water, medicine, and their right to exist as human beings
i mean, this young girl is only ten years old, yet she is essentially responsible for convincing random people scrolling through instagram that her and her family’s life are worth fighting for
on top of that, their gofundme is not even 10% funded and time is running out, please if you can’t donate, just share
please don’t let this little girl die begging

I haven't properly thought about this show since elementary – middle school. I'm so upset at myself for rejoining this fandom oh my god. Also, this took forever to color & and lineart for. (What if I told you the reason I wanted to learn to draw was b/c of this anime)

Another fundraiser I trust!
He has a tumblr, and it seems he's very new to it and doesn't know how to use it properly so he ends up looking like a bot but dw he is legit. I had a long conversation with Mahmoud over DM's just to go over everything. It all checks out. Please consider donating to get his family out of Ghazzah! Additionally, his brother-in-law is special needs and cannot be taken care of in a tent!

Random idea but would anyone be interested in a f/f ship week for sao? I feel like the fandoms dying out and we need something to keep it active.

it’s not my blog if i’m not ranting about sao at midnight
it drives me crazy that asuna can start battles but never finish them. she never gets the final blow on any major boss / villain she faces despite being the one to ( usually ) start the fight. there’s always someone to swoop in and take that from her. i understand that she’s meant to represent goodness / light / hope, but hear me out: asuna chose to be a swordswoman. she chose to clear floors, she chose to become vice commander of the KoB. even though i’m willing to let go of any feelings i have when it comes to bosses when VR is just fun for her, like in ALO, it’s just ridiculous to me concerning anything dealing with aincrad – both during and after.
she made the decision to fight and to take up a position of power while in aincrad and she rightfully deserves to feel both the positives and negatives of those decisions. asuna didn’t take any joy in fighting other people. really, she didn’t. bosses, mobs of enemies? easy. but people… it killed her inside to think about it. there’s nothing to gain in taking a life, to vanquish it with your own hand. she didn’t want to end a life if there’s any way around it, but as the vice commander of a guild then, she had to make decisions for the greater good. she knew when it was a necessary evil – like with the raid on laughing coffin – and felt guilty anyways. she deserves to finish things on her own terms and feel the effects of it. she has regrets too and she deserves to harbor that regret. it makes her more realistic, more human that way.
there’s so many instances where if asuna had been allowed to take action and end things, it would’ve had a greater effect. the fight with kuradeel, her escape from sugou ( i’m a firm believer that she should’ve been handed a sword to stab her abuser for all the shit he did to her ), and her fight with poh / vassago in the alicization arc are prime examples.

“Just as the commander did something wrong, so have I, and Kazuto too…And Miss Rinko, you’ve also done something wrong. But it’s not as if we can make amends, even if we’re punished for it. It could be that we’ll never see the day we’re forgiven. Even still, we have to continue to face what we’ve done.”
I just rewatched some episodes from the alicization arc and this quote just hits really hard.
Asuna is always holding herself accountable for her actions in SAO. She carries the pain and the regrets as she does the good memories and friendships she made. She feels that she has to because of her role as Vice Commander. She was too important of a figure in matters to let her deeds simply be brushed aside. She made some wrong calls, didn’t act in certain situations, or let her emotions get the better of her in others. Some of her actions led to someone else’s death and that’s why she feels the way she does. She may not have actively taken someone’s life, but she did put them into the situation that led to their death. She can’t go back and change things and bring those people back.
Time has helped settle the feelings she has about this. At first, she could hardly exist in the real world knowing she was there and they weren’t. It was so rough mentally. Years have gone by since then, however, and Yuuki helped change her perspective on this. While she hasn’t forgiven herself entirely—and I doubt she ever will because SAO has left a permanent mark on her—Asuna’s accepted the past for what it is. If people are angry at her for her actions and the calls that she made, that’s okay. If people blame her for someone’s death, that’s okay too. She’ll take all of it because she cares about people and they’re owed it for all that happened to them and those that they cared about.
The best example of this? Yuuna. Eiji has every right to be upset with her over Yuuna’s death. She made the call to pull him from a boss fight and everything else happened as a result of it. Asuna will take the brunt of his rage because you know what? He’s owed that after losing her. If he never wants to forgive her for that, she understands. However, this won’t stop Asuna from living.
And that’s the most important part; she’s still here. Even if she can never be forgiven and never make amends for her actions, she’s still living and she has to keep going. It’s all she can do. It’s hard, but Asuna keeps moving forward anyways.

Eiji’s making a habit of conversations like this, isn’t he? It’s rare for her to see anything but his typical stoic demeanor. He keeps everyone at a distance -- Asuna especially. They still don’t trust each other. Oblivious to others, of course, but the hostility radiates whenever they’re brought together. There’s so much from their days in SAO left unspoken; trauma, anger, and rash decisions on both of their parts. Which makes these moments when he’s bluntly open seem so... surprising, shocking.
She doubts his intentions with the probing question at first, gaze turning towards him as a brow rises in suspicion. But all it takes is a few moments to see pain, vulnerability in those eyes of his ( it certainly makes her feel horrible for thinking he was about to play a cruel trick on her ). Even as Asuna turns to face him directly and her expressions turn sympathetic, doubt remains. Why? Why her, of all people? If it were any other person, she’d be flattered that they’d feel comfortable enough to share what’s eating at them. But with him, it’s so odd.
Is it because she was once his commanding officer? Well... no, probably not. She lost his trust long before the events with Yuuna... then what else? What is it about her that gets him to open up? Unless...
They may have more in common than they both ever expected. She understands how it is to have a role to play; to keep on going when you don’t want to, to keep up appearances despite the trauma resting deep within. Eiji can’t be a cold, stoic asshole all the time... can he? She has to hold in a chuckle at that. He’d definitely deny it, but there has to be more to him than that. He’s still a person, after all, just... heartbroken. Trauma makes demons of them all, some more than others.
And here she goes again, answering him with her own blunt honesty. ❝ Sometimes, but I... I'm terrified of the person I could have became. ❞ Obedient, blindly following her parents’ desires for her life, quietly suffering but accepting where she was heading. She wasn’t the same person as back then; not by a long shot. No longer is she the girl who would sit idle and let others make decisions for her. Every person, every moment that’s came and gone in her life has formed her into who she is now. And she won’t take that for granted, not ever again.
❝ SAO nearly killed us all... but it changed me for the better. You would hate the person I was years ago, I think. Besides... we wouldn’t be here now having this discussion in the first place, ❞ she speaks with a shrug.
Perhaps she’ll tell him the depths of her situation one day. For now, however, Asuna keeps it vague and centers the conversation around him. A small smile rises on her face as she continues. ❝ How about you, hm? I don’t fault you for wishing things had been different, all things considered. ❞

I know that it being said that Mito was probably put as someone who doesn't do vr as an excuse for her not being much around the others, but I think it's cool to think that Mito that it either fucked her up badly or Vr counted as something Mito just doesn't see as important and has other ways on escaping reality or possibly seeking a better future for herself
Or is like Eiji who prefers AR, but Idk, it's just interesting to think about.
