i think some of the negative connotation of incompetence should be removed. it is not an insult to call somebody incompetent, just a statement of opinion on their performance. i don't think it implies they should lose that job or role, just that they should improve.

Am i too sensitive…
…or is everybody else just lazy with their communication?
Am I the only one attributing meaning to words? Am I giving them an intention that isn’t there?
So now, I try to clarify everything. I ask more questions. Because I don’t think people are paying as much attention to what they say as I am.
Life was easy when I didn’t care about what I said, and oh the pain I must have left in my wake.

It’s weird how calling a woman a bitch tends to mean she’s assertive, but calling a man a bitch tends to connote the exact opposite.

Today's Simple Writing Wisdoms:
The importance of commas is made inarguably clear in the sentences: "Let's eat, grandma!" and "Let's eat grandma!"
Connotation is the vital distinction between a "Cottage in the forest" and a "cabin in the woods."

saw a poll about whether you prefer corruption or redemption arcs and i realized that for me it's not really either, it's a distillation arc: when a character becomes the most intense version of what they could be, everything inessential falling away or being discarded so that only the core remains.
