Hello everyone! I’m making a post on behalf of my friend, who doesn’t have a Tumblr.
She is a 2-Spirit Inuk artist who is fundraising to access vital medical treatment for chemical burns and resulting pain & complications.
She’s been struggling to receive accessible care in a racist medical system, and she needs our support.
Donations will also pay for transportation to & from the hospital for treatment, as well as basic necessities like her phone bill.
She was recently unable to pay and therefore couldn’t handle her medical needs because she had no access to a phone.

How Nobody Owens Got the Talk
Presumably, he first learned about sex after asking his adoptive parents to explain a raunchy joke he heard from some ghost kid. I'm not sure how comfortable Mr. and Mrs. Owens would be discussing the matter with him; it might depend on what time period they lived in. But I have to assume it'd quickly devolve into them bickering about what to tell him and then possibly bickering about their own sex life.
Now even more puzzled, Bod went to Silas. In his usual authoritative baritone, Silas replied "I knew this day would come" and proceeded to answer his charge's questions in a manner that varied from calmly clinical (when describing the physical aspects) to philosophical musing (when describing the social aspects). Occasionally he paused, less out of squeamishness than just considering the best wording for someone Bod's age to understand.
Then at some point Miss Lupescu launched into her side curriculum of NAME THE METHODS OF CONTRACEPTION AND THEIR FUNCTIONS AND EFFECTS and NAME THE SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS AND THEIR TREATMENTS and NAME THE PRINCIPLES OF CONSENT and NAME THE ORIENTATIONS and so on.

I have to assume Coraline's relationship with her actual parents became significantly less fraught once she admitted (with encouragement from Spink and Forcible, who'd both been there before) that she liked girls, and her parents were more accepting than she'd anticipated.
The movie makes it particularly obvious that she's gay because, even beyond her fashion sense and her blue hair, what straight girl would react Like That to the burlesque show?

Could also do a Norse take where:
The Other World is the prison of Loki, who's trying to gain enough power to escape by draining the life from children
The passage is the serpent that torments the confined Loki with its venom (maybe you could even interpret this serpent as Níðhöggr itself?)
Freyja sent one of her little helpers to keep Loki from getting loose and instigating Ragnarök
I want to write a take on Coraline where:
The Other Mother is Neith's unholy offspring who set up shop in some disregarded corner of the Duat, and whom the creative weaver goddess herself understandably doesn't like to talk about
The passage between the worlds is Apep
The cat is either Bastet (which could lend itself to a crossover with American Gods) or Ra (who took a feline form to fight Apep—this would not only explain why he's so afraid to enter the passageway, as opposed to traveling between our world and the Duat in his own way; but also indicate that this part of the story takes place during a solar eclipse, which is what happens when Apep temporarily swallows Ra)
