Like alright, say what you will about Fates’s story. Love it or hate it, at least we all generally agree on what the fuck happened.
No one is still discussing 3H because the story is just that Deep™️ and Good™️ that there’s always something more to find. People are still discussing 3H because people fundamentally do not agree on key aspects of the plot. And I cannot stress this enough, that’s just bad writing.
Like, can you imagine if we went the entirety of Triangle Strategy without defining whether or not the Roselle were actually oppressed or not, and that plot point was left entirely up to “how oppressed do you want them to be?” The oppression of the Roselle is not only a major aspect of one main character’s arc, it’s also a key detail for the entire conflict of the game. You cannot remove it or alter it significantly without running into some severe writing problems.
Like picture with me, for a moment, a Triangle Strategy wherein, on Frederica’s route, you discover that the Roselle have been horrifically oppressed for hundreds of years and your goal is to break them out. However on Roland’s route, because they didn’t want you to feel too bad about liking Roland, they game said “actually the Roselle aren’t that oppressed and even if they were, enslaving them is a necessity, so Roland has a point, actually. Fredrica is just overreacting.” Not only do both of those viewpoints exist within the game, the developers do nothing to develop the Roselle outside of their one appearance in either ending.
That’s basically how 3H treats the Nabateans. Their genocide at the hands of humanity is not only a key plot point, it’s the entire basis of the main character’s existence. Without it, Byleth would not exist. It should be important. But actually utilizing that or engaging with the questions it brings up would make one of the lords look bad. So the Nabateans have to live in this awkward space where they’re clearly a genocided race, the game says as much, but the game can’t focus on that too much for fear of making their main waifu less marketable. So you have Verdant Wind “my family was slaughtered by humans who drank their blood and turned their bones into gruesome weapons. Everyone and everything I ever loved was taken from me and I’ve been fighting desperately to get it back ever since” right next to Crimson Flower “lol, she’s crazy and evil, whatever, just kill her because I think she needs to be stopped” right next to Azure Moon “Rhea who? Never heard of her.”
The game can’t ever commit to one thing with her because committing to one thing with her risks making another major character come off as fundamentally unappealing (or just plain stupid, depending on which version of Rhea/worldbuilding they commit to). And then just for extra lols, the game literally gives you a library with a bunch of Alternative Facts Worldbuilding and says “idk, just pick which version you like best.” If the game can’t even agree on the basic fundamentals of a character and lore, how are we supposed to? Which is why we keep having the same goddamn arguments over and over. Not because the game is deep, but because the game can’t commit.

4 Hounds deep dive
Tumblr media
Alright, so basically after hearing so many times and too many times that the Hound are failed sympathetic villains, I decided to take matters in hands, and to clear up the big misunderstanding about those characters. That’s right, they are misunderstood characters BECAUSE... they aren’t supposed to be sympathetic villains, who on earth gave you the idea you were supposed to feel sympathy for those twisted puppies ?! I mean, aside from Marni and obviously Mauvier, Zephia and Griss are irreedeming villains : their backstory isn’t there to make them more sympathetic but to explain their motivations...look, I know that with 3H we got used to villains never explaining why exactly they want revenge and all, but that’s literaly all there is to it.
As for them being a “family “I feel like there is also a misunderstanding on how they works because if Engage is a tale about new found family, there is actually nothing surprising that the bad guys have a relationship that drastically differs from the postive message our characters on the good side are trying to tell.
I won’t surprise you if I tell you that what were are shown of the Hounds are a group that has family only the title and barely deserves it seeing how Zephia is an abusive feminine figure in pretty much everyway however, there is indeed one way to say that they are family. If you compare them to Sombron’s family that is, because it turns out to be EXACTLY that, the Hounds are an abusive family, disconnected in pretty much everyway and what is actually tragic about them is that they were all so deluded they didn’t even noticed that they weren’t a true family and yet left us with one scarred invidual : Mauvier. And by that token, I think it actually make sense that we don’t have the sentiment they were family since... they actually weren’t. At all. They were just a bunch of inviduals with all toxic and distorted view on love anf family. In fact, I think that the fact that their counterparts from a reverse universe where Timerra is vegeterian, the 4 Winds, have an actual family relationship and feels like one SPEAKS WORDS. But before that, I just give my thoughts on Sombron’s army in general cause I think people are really weird againts them;
Sombron’s army are excellent villains, they are doing an amazing job at being thorns in Alear’s path. They managed to kill Lumera in chapter 3, they lead succeful attacks on many villages, they manage to steal ALL of Alear’s ring in chapter 10, and when they fail, they got consquences and choosing to make this particularly cruel characters a “family” works with the whole commentary about abusive relationships. It is obvious that those people aren’t the one to believe in comradery, frienship, love, caring for one another etc... the EXTREME opposite of a familial environement !!
I mean, what better way was there to portray Zephia as an evul lady then having her killing her subordinated for failing in their tasks (cough, cough Nelluce) and beats the sheet out of everyone when they fails or get in her way ?This obviously come at the cost of depicting her as a loving mother figure.. which the game don’t really try to nor wants to do anyway, the developpement of Zephia being that the more she appears on screen, the more violent and cruel she gets which makes up for a developpement as an abusive mother figure and that’s where you see how twisted the Hounds relationships is : they aren’t a family, they are a regular group of co workers for the Evul Papabad guy who are all incredibly egoistical and entitled indivuals that won’t hesitate to back stab each others for the sake of their plans and to kill their comarades as a punishement for messing up, a scenario that makes up for an average evil team but that is made 1000% more messed up by the fact the game creates an analogy with family, making that Engage compare abusive family environement to an evil subordinate/evil general dynamic. What they are doing is horrible, but it’s made worse by the fact that those inviduals are all more or less broken and yearning for a family which leads them to fall into a deluded mindest of them “being a family” and it’s what makes their leader, Zephia, a monstruous villain since her idea of family corresponds to THIS.
Now from what I noticed, there is no debate in understanding how their character’s work, pretty much every Engage player could be able to sum up all the long dive I made for them in a few sentences, but despite all of that you somehow will still find fans thinking the game wants us to sympathetize with them even though their main victims literaly says THAT :
Tumblr media
And no, I think that the support Mauvier and Veyle has with the Winds aren’t there for humanizing them, nor making them sympathetic.
In short, I have broken down every member of the Hounds to show exactly why some aren’t reedemed nor should whereas others are and could have been. I also went aboard to explain that they aren’t “yes they were evul but they were just a luving family that could have stayed together if it weren’t for different convictions uwu” but “they weren’t a true family, just a bunch of broken individulas clining into that word without understanding the meaning of it and acting as a cruel abusive family because being the bad guys means back stabbing each others”
So it will goes in that order : Mauvier, Marni, Griss and Zephia.
I also saw critiscim about their backstory being kind of dumpt here and not explored further but I think it keeps in line with the idea of “yes they were once victims but now they are abusers and no ammount of sad backstory can justify this” and the fews line we got still managed to explain the whole psychology of an indivdual. Realistically speaking, Alear and Veyle were not there for the whole unpackage. Zephia just alluded to the idea before them without explaining it further, they leaved before Griss could speak of his for little he shares, and the main detail are in the supports between Mauvier and the Winds which both Alear and Veyle remains unaware of. So while I don’t disagree with it, I feel like it was not necessary to expand unto it this much since it already explains reasonably enough their motivations and purposes, and it aligns with what we are shown of them. Moreover, it aligns also with the fact that at least 2 of the Hounds, Zephia and Griss, had a somehow genuine bound and that’s only when it’s the 2 of them that they are able to be true to themselves compared to character like Marni and Mauvier being unable to read into them. Much like I think that way about Sombron himself since the villains in Engage are motivates by the EXACT same things as our heroes.
But regardless here I start and I will be linking this post to the one I will make in the future
Part 1 : Mauvier
Part 2 : Marni
Part 3 : Griss
Part 4 : Zephia
By the way, from now on I am calling this game Fire emblem emotional Damage. You’ll see why.
Edit : something I though I could add but if you ever listen to the 4 hounds theme song it’s very unsettling and a bit cacophonic and disharmonious which i think not only illustrates that they are actually threatining and scarry individuals but also emprison their inner twisted minds as well as showing their disharmonious and twisted relationship

Omg thank you so much for doing my last request I absolutely LOVED it!!!!! Your characterization of Felix and Sylvain are so wonderfully on point and I'm still squealing over the part where Felix asks reader to teach him how to heal them dsjfkdjfj (and rolling my eyes over Sylvain's antics lmao. What an incorrigible lad (affectionate))
I hope you don't mind me coming back for more 👀 I've recently started replaying 3h so I'm having so many thoughts about my children <3 this one is an idea that came from a dream I had! Basically reader and Claude have been friends for a while (either childhood friends or they made friends at the beginning of the year). It's the white heron ball and they sneak off bc neither of them are so into all the pomp and circumstance. They're just goofing off in one of the nearby wings and making fun of the church's collection of paintings when Claude realizes in that moment that he's in love with the reader ;)
Extra details about reader if you'd like: they're not all that great at lying or scheming unlike Claude and they're basically his voice of reason/holder of the brain cell (when it comes to reigning him back from some of his more outlandish/dangerous schemes). They've also been secretly in love w Claude for at least a year before the ball hehe
Thank you again in advance and feel free to take the ending wherever you like!!
That is wonderful news! I value characterization as a point; if the character isn't depicted as themselves, the work isn't special. It could be about literally anyone, which is the opposite of what I want. Hopefully, I did the same thing this time!
Requests are open. The story will continue under the cut.
It was the month of the Garreg Mach Ball. In celebration of the festivities, members of the church had lined the cathedral with old paintings correlated to the Seiros faith.
You were never the most devout believer, Claude knew. In fact, he couldn’t remember the last time he saw you in the cathedral.
He had used this knowledge to his advantage, however, in order to devise a fun way to spend the night. Away from the ball itself, of course; neither of you were one for dancing.
“Can I open my eyes, now?”
“So impatient,” the Alliance noble teased. “Just trust me, okay? We’re almost there.”
“Claude, I don’t need to be blindfolded to know we’re crossing the bridge to the Cathedral right now. I know where I am and where I’m going, so there’s no need to restrict my vision,” you countered.
“Fine then. If you’re so confident, I guess you don’t need me to guide you.”
He took his hands away from yours and turned to walk away. Previously, you had been talked through your route and helped along the way. Of course, it was mainly so you wouldn’t trip on anything or veer off the planned course.
There were only two setbacks: One, moving with you blindfolded was a lot slower, and two, Claude had to walk backwards in order to do it right.
So he knew he only had to wait a moment before you-
“Come on, you know that’s not what I meant. But, I suppose if my hands are free, I can take off this blindfold.”
That wasn’t what he wanted you to say. You always were one to surprise him, though.
He realized you weren’t bluffing, either. It was only when your hands actually began to untie the knot behind your head that Claude reacted.
“Alright, fine. I’ll guide you. But you have to keep your eyes covered, alright?”
The only thing he got in response was a sigh and the sight of your hands returning to the position they were in when he held them earlier. Claude returned to his position as well, sliding your hands into his own and beginning to walk backwards to the cathedral.
“Careful, there’s a rock there. Move to your left- No, your other- Look, just because you can’t see doesn’t mean you suddenly forget which way is left!” he laughed.
“I…I’m doing my bes- ouch!”
Whoops. He had forgotten to direct you around that one.
“Sorry, my bad!”
Glancing around, he pointed his eyes back at the monastery. You weren’t even a quarter of the way across. At this pace, someone was going to see you two crossing the bridge and all of this would be pointless.
So, he let go of your hands and maneuvered around you.
“Seriously? I thought you said you would- woah! What-?”
He scooped you up into his arms and walked at a much more effective pace toward the cathedral. He felt your arms come to rest against his chest.
“Nope,” he grinned, “just some random person that saw us walking on the bridge and decided to carry you to our destination.”
“Claude? That is you, right?” you asked. It was a silly question in his head, but he supposed you were blindfolded. The key sense you had been using for identification was gone, and the noble could feel you tensing up.
“Ha-ha,” you quipped. Though the response meant you knew it was him, Claude noticed that the tension still didn’t leave your body. Interesting.
“Relax,” he tried to reassure you, “I’m not gonna drop you or anything.”
“Just…get us to wherever we’re going so I can take this thing off.”
Eventually, you rested your head against his chest. There was nowhere else to put it, he supposed, but he still hoped you couldn’t hear his heartbeat.
Maybe that's the reason, Claude thought. After all, he would be on edge too if he failed to identify someone he knew. Without your sight, you were left prone to people you didn’t know, or to others that wanted to hurt you.
A few more hurried paces brought the two of you to the entrance of the cathedral. Claude carried you inside, and once he found what he was after, he placed you back on your feet.
“Ready?”
“I’ve been inside the cathedral before. But I suppose if you really think there’s something-”
Swiftly, he pulled away the cloth tied around your head. He noted that, despite the low-light setting the two of you were in, you still had to squint and blink to let your eyes adjust. Moonlight was brighter than darkness, he supposed.
“I think you’re the one that needs to be patient. The amount of times you’ve caught me off guard tonight by cutting me off is getting out of hand.”
“Pretty sure I’m not needing to wait on anything else, for now. This is what I wanted to show you.”
His eyes followed yours when you took in your surroundings.
“Art,” you commented. You began to travel about the space, taking in as much of it as you could despite the heavy shadows cast by the moon.
Claude began to talk as you explored, “Yep. They pulled it out especially for the ball. Not for auction, so it’s likely just to show off.”
“Ha! To show off art like this?”
He turned to observe which piece had caught your eye.
“Raphael’s little sister could do better than this…scribble!” you scoffed. “What is this even meant to be?”
“Can’t you tell? It’s very clearly a…” he squinted at the label beneath the piece, “...“census count by early Nabateans.” Honestly, you’re so uncultured. How is it that you’re even still allowed around me?”
Laughter spills from your lips at his teasing, and he can’t help but want to hear more.
You moved to the other side of the room, following a path illuminated by the moon. He found himself led to a piece lit up just as brightly. It looked to be a painting of an older man, but all the colors ran together in unappealing locations.
“Alright then, oh great art connoisseur, try this one.”
“And no cheating!” you glared in mock-suspicion, moving your body so as to obstruct his view from the written description.
He looked at the painting a moment before coming to a conclusion, “Easy. That's just Professor Hanneman.”
“Pfft, what? Now you’re just grasping at straws.”
“No, I’m serious! Look-” the Riegan heir moved to stand on one of the pews a few paces away. He held the index finger of one of his hands out, then positioned the fingers on his other hand so that his fingertips were touching his thumb. After lifting his arms above his head and positioning so that the moon shone on them just right, he was satisfied.
“Alright, now turn around and tell me that’s not Hanneman.”
You did so, noticing that the shadows Claude created formed a makeshift mustache and monocle, respectively.
“How did you-? That truly resembles Professor Hanneman!” you gasped.
“See? Another point for the connoisseur!”
“Okay, that’s enough out of you!” you grinned, moving to help him down from the pew.
He took your arm in his, “Good, because now it’s your turn.”
“What? Hey-! S-Slow down!”
Claude led you down along the same wall you were observing at the right-most side of the cathedral. There was a sketch he saw that depicted all of the crests, which was where you both came to a sudden halt.
“This one? Okay, that’s art of all the crests, right?”
“Sure. If you’re boring.”
“Excuse me?”
“For example,” he pointed your eyes toward one part of the work in particular. “You might say this is the crest of Dominic, but if you look at it my way, I think it’s an eye.”
You squinted; you were probably trying to see it his way. Then, your own eyes widened.
“Oh! I see it now!”
“Great, then you can give it a go.”
“Hmm…” your eyes scanned over the page. They lingered on certain crests longer than others. Eventually, though, your eyes had made a full trip around the paper before settling on the Daphnel crest.
“This one. I can pick out a person in the middle holding a crown over their own head. Those two little squiggles at their sides are wings.”
“Woah, that one’s much better than mine. I’ve always thought it was a trident, but I suppose you’d have to disregard the dot in the middle for that to work.”
Your gaze went back to work scanning the crest, and Claude knew it was to try forming the image he described.
“...maybe. But then it would be between what? Waves? Two stones?”
At that last point, your expression lit up.
“Wait, that reminds me! There’s something I’ve always wanted to see.”
The archer trailed you at a light jog as you led the way away from the painting and out of the cathedral to the left balcony. He slowed his pace not much later. There weren’t many places for you to run off to from this enclosed area, after all. Once he saw where you were headed, though, he came to a walk.
You had paused in front of the Goddess Tower.
“This stone structure is always guarded,” you began, “and when it isn’t, it’s always locked when I try to get in.”
“Oh, is it, now? And here I thought you were above trespassing.”
Claude caught up to your side and laughed when you elbowed him. Your curiosity did have a tendency to get in the way of your morals, he knew. It was the reason he was able to pull you out here tonight, and it was the same reason you would chime in for some of his more outlandish ventures ever since you had met.
“Well? Don’t you want to go inside?”
Your mouth formed a pout. How cute; he’d have to try to elicit that reaction from you more often.
“You can try the handle if you’d like. I know it won’t work, but…I can think of more than a few things I’d trade away just to look inside.”
Interesting. Not only did you not seem to know what this place was, but you were also unaware it was unlocked right now.
He could have some fun with this.
“I don’t think that will be necessary. Besides,” he winked, “I’ve got a good feeling about tonight.”
Claude turned away from you as he closed the short distance to the door. Casually, he opened it and took a step inside.
“What-? How?”
Before he could respond, you had managed to close the distance and lightly push past him into the tower.
You must have really wanted in if you didn’t have anything else to say. Something told him you didn’t really care about getting your questions answered, either.
Intrigued as he was about the inside of the structure (he had always wondered what the interior looked like, too), Claude was nowhere near as interested as you were. He could deduce as much by how quickly you climbed the stairs. Soon, though, he heard your footsteps come to a halt.
“I don’t get it.”
When the house leader had made it to the top of the staircase, he understood what you meant.
The room was dark and gloomy. Nothing decorated the walls, and the only thing on the floor was the crest of Seiros. The cold stone of the room only made it feel even less welcoming. Thankfully, he found that there was no dust on any of their surroundings. Someone must have cleaned the place before it was unlocked.
He watched as you turned to him, brows furrowed, “Why would anyone care enough to keep a place like this under lock and surveillance?”
“Ah, you don’t know where you are, do you?” he teased.
“What, you mean this place really is special?”
“This is the Goddess Tower.” When he saw that the name didn’t bring any clarity to your expression, he continued, “From what I know, there’s a legend about this place. If a man and a woman come here on this night and pray for the same thing together, the Goddess will answer and grant them their wish.”
“Okay…” you paused. He could practically see the gears turning in your head.
“Don’t put too much faith in it, though. I’m pretty sure it’s just a rumor, anyway.”
“It must be,” you frowned, scanning the room one more time. “If I were the Goddess, I think I’d stay far away from this place. Why not pick somewhere more ethereal?”
He noticed you tense up and turn back to him, “Hang on, how come you knew about this and I didn’t? You heard a rumor, and you’re telling me you just…forgot to mention it to me?”
“My deepest apologies, my lady.” Claude altered his tone to sound mockingly high-brow and gave a sweeping, exaggerated bow. “I swear to you from now on that I will report any and all information I gather back to you. Whether it be true, false, or otherwise.”
“Good,” you giggled, “and you’d do well to remember it!”
As he moved further into the room, House Riegan’s heir noticed something attached to the wall. Something noticeably not stone.
“Hey, check this out.”
At the sound of his voice, you moved closer to what he was looking at.
It was a large wooden door. It expanded almost to the top of the room, its handle a heavy metal ring. The discovery was interesting, but Claude didn’t know where it would lead. There was nothing on the outside of the tower that he noticed resembled a second room.
You brushed your hand along it, “No keyhole. It can’t be locked.”
“Well, then. I think we both know what needs to happen next.”
Together, you both leaned against the doors and pushed. They were heavy and didn’t give easily, but they opened nonetheless.
There was a small ledge serving as a balcony. No railing protected you two from falling to the bottom, he noted, but what truly caught his attention was the view.
Granted, he had seen a great deal of sights from atop his wyvern, but that didn’t make this moment any less beautiful. The stars were glowing with constellations he could recognize. The moon was about a third of the way through its route in the sky and shone brighter than he remembered. He could make out trees and houses by moonlight, and the streetlamps from nearby towns glowed as earthly stars.
Your footsteps brought him out of his trance. The brunet watched as you moved out onto the balcony, bracing your hand against the wall to ground yourself. Once he noticed your widened eyes reflecting the light of the moon, Claude knew you, too, were captivated by the scene in front of you.
He almost wished you would look at him like that.
“Forget the paintings. I could’ve been staring at this all night?”
He flung his hand over his heart, “How cruel! I was under the impression that you and I were having fun tonight!” He sighed dramatically, “But, I suppose you don’t value my company as much as I do yours.”
Even that wasn’t enough to get you to tear your eyes away, it seemed.
“You know I didn’t mean it like that, it’s just…”
You didn’t finish your thought, probably because you knew you didn’t have to. He turned his head back towards the other sight beyond the doors. Words weren’t enough to describe it, so his mind did its best to preserve the picture.
“I think I can understand why it’s guarded, now,” he admitted. At this, you finally turned to face him. “The church probably wouldn’t want all those young lovers stealing away up here and making wishes too often.”
You turned back to the view, nodding in agreement, “Lover or no, I know I would.”
Claude looked to you, and in that moment he wished he could keep the door unlocked. Only for you. He wanted no one else to know about this place, save for the two of you, and he wanted it to remain unguarded if only so you could make your way up here every night.
And he wished he could join you. Not just so you wouldn’t be alone, and not just because you were his friend, either. Whether it was a rumor or not, Claude wanted to share his wish with you here every year.
“Then I would, too.”
“Huh?” you looked back at him again. He had caught you off guard. Good.
“If you came up here all the time, I would always come with you.”
“That’s good. Part of me would need you to be here with me every time.”
He swore his heart stopped in his chest. To remedy its mistake, it began beating faster than it had before.
“Oh? And why is that?”
Your face broke into a smile, “Because clearly, I don’t know how to open the door.”
Now it was his turn to be caught off guard. By the time he had recovered, though, you had already run past him and down the staircase.
Oh, you knew exactly what you were doing.
The archer sped out of the tower, chasing the sound of your laughter. It echoed throughout the cathedral as you made your way toward the bridge.
In truth, he wasn’t sure what he was going to do when he caught up to you. But that was his favorite part of being with you: he got to live in the present.
You could both deal with the moment when it came. For now, Claude would enjoy the moment he was living in.

I ALSO GOT INTO GENSHIN BECAUSE OF DEINSLEIF IDIIDICIC
I saw a friend sharing a post of what I Thought was Dimitri. So I reblogged it under my three houses tag and went on my merry way... until the same friend approached me and say "uh, he is from genshin"
(Looking back, that friend never mentioned about knowing what 3h is... dumb me ehe!)
Dimitri 🤝 Dainsleif
Carrying my sanity since the start of the pandemic.
BUT OH MY GOD S A M E. I CALLED DAINSLEIF "DIMITRI DRAWN IN THE GENSHIN ART STYLE" AND I NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT HOW THEY'RE SIMILAR WHEN I FIRST PLAYED THE GAME.
For example:
Similar drip/color scheme. Blue cape, black armor, etc
Something covers their face on the same location
Canonically strong af with a badass title "Savior King"/"Twilight Sword"
Blonde blue eyes, tall glass of water
Hot voice– I mean haha what yeah um they speak in a low tone haha that's crazy
Connection to royalty/knighthood. "He dIeD lIkE a TruE KnIGhT" grindset (jk but they both uphold chivalric values at some point in their lives haven't they?)
Has one protag they relied on (technically your twin isn't the protag but shhhh)
Something something 5/500 years significance. Spent time walking around alone.
Guessing they both have trauma when it comes to fire. (Tragedy of Duscur/Cataclysm)
New argument 2022: Technically both their subordinate sacrificed their life to save them–
There's probably a lot more but we'll stop there lmao
Anyways yeah haha um I've been crushing on dimitri for like 3 years now so all my fictional crushes are pretty much him, but in different flavors. He made me know what my type is in a man lmfao. I thought my type was just "character that's bound to die since I'm cursed and all my faves die–" but I guess not
Wanna know another guy that looks a lot like Dainsleif tho? Meet Yves from an unlocalized (yet) otome game, Shuuen No Virche

Hardworking RedHeads
Thank you for the support @authordgaster! I hope you like it~
This is a support chain C-A between Leonie and Annette during the Azure Moon route in 3h!
Commission info HERE and HERE!
__________________________
C SUPPORT
Leonie, alone: Ugh... maybe carrying all of this at once was a mistake... Just a little... more, though!
Annette, alone: Hhhng, you can do this, me...! We can carry these back, just like how we took it all at once!
Leonie & Annette: Using time effectively, is what I always say!
Annette: Huh?!
Leonie: Wha-?!
Annette: Wa-watch out! Hyaaa-
Leonie: Careful!
(crash)
Annette: Huff, huff, whoa, nice catch! W-wait, I mean, I’m really sorry! I Should’ve looked where I was going. Are you okay?! Oh no, all your stuff went flying! Look, some went there, let me help you pick it all up!
Leonie: Hey, it’s okay, I’m just glad I managed to catch you before we both fell down those stairs. Are you alright? You could’ve gotten really hurt back there. Well, not that I’m any better, I crashed just as hard on you.
Annette: What? No, I’m fine, really! Look, I can even pick up this huge bag you were-- urrrgh?! Wha, what’s even IN here? I can’t move it an inch! How were you able to carry all that in your bag and still hold more bags in your arms? *Gasp* Don’t tell me you’ve mastered the Gravity magic I’ve been secretly researching to help me carry more stuff at once...!
Leonie: What? Magic? No, I was training. I mean, I was running some errands, but I can always sneak in some training in my daily routine, right?
(If C Support unlocked with Shamir) Shamir helped me realize that.
Annette: Training? Like weight lifting? I wish I could carry tons of stuff like that, too, but I’m tiny and weak so I gotta focus on my forte, which is magic! But I totally get where you’re coming from! We gotta work efficiently so we don’t waste the day, right?
Leonie: Right! There are only so many hours in the day, so we gotta do what we gotta do to improve ourselves with the time we got.
Annette: *nod nod* I get it!
Annette: But wah! Let me help you get your things, it’s like a hurricane exploded around us, so much stuff...
Leonie: Uh, yeah, I went and did some more errands than I could manage, I guess. But now that everything’s mixed up like that, I don’t know which books are mine or which are yours... Wait, did you get some scrap cloths, too?
Annette: Oh no! And I thought all of these were mine. Where did you get these? I asked the kitchen ladies to tell me where they found theirs and they pointed me to a dressmaker in town...
Leonie: That’s the same place I go to for scraps! I didn’t know she gave them out to more people... Huh!
Annette: Heehee, that’s so weird! Guess we have a lot more in common than just our hair colors, huh?
Leonie: True. I didn’t think we were alike at all when we first met, but now I see you in a different light!
Leonie: Though I don’t think we’ll be able to sort everything out right here and now. What do you say we just carry everything to my room and we can sort it out there? It sure as heck will be hard to go up to your room carrying all of these by yourself, so after we’re done, I’ll help you out with your share.
Annette: Would you? Really? Thank you so much, Leonie! Yeah, we can’t just leave all this stuff here forever, so let’s go!
Annette: I think I know which books are mine, but I spy some others in your pile that I kinda wanna read, so after we’re done, if you wouldn’t mind...?
Leonie: Nah, you can have them, don’t worry! I just didn’t know what to do with them, but I didn’t wanna see them in the trash either. Break a leg!
Annette: Thank you so much, Leonie! This is gonna take a while, but thanks again for the help!
B SUPPORT (unlocks after chapter 11)
Leonie: I know you said you would pay me back for the help when we crashed at that time, but you didn’t need to barge into my room to put make-up on me!
Annette: Aww, but we had a lot of fun, didn’t we? Mercie is really good with make-up and sewing and crafting things, and since we were doing Ingrid’s make-up, we might as well come and do yours, too!
Leonie: I don’t suit this girly stuff, though, okay? I don’t wanna waste time on something that doesn’t go well on me when I could be doing something productive.
Annette: B-but it was the day of the ball! Were you gonna train even during the party?
Leonie: I can always be training, you know.
(If C Support unlocked with Shamir) Not all training requires a weapon.
Leonie: Besides, I was just gonna stuff my face with food, anyway. I can’t do any of these noble dances.
Annette, sad: I’m sorry... I didn’t think you’d hate it that much. I thought we all had fun that night, but...
Leonie: Look, I’m not-
Leonie: *huff* I’m not mad, okay? I’m just- agh, I’m just uncomfortable. You mentioned how we had more similar things than just our hair color, but I think that was it, basically. Sure, our phylosophy of life might be similar, but I’m a kid from a hunting village who’s just trying to survive while you’re a noble, overachieving kid.
Annette: Over- hey, that’s a bit mean...
Leonie: Aren’t you, though? You can have anything you want, anytime you want, but you cram more and more things in just for the heck of it. You’re cute, small, smell nice and have a nice hair-
Annette, blushing: Wait-
Leonie: -So you can’t just say the hair I basically shaved ‘cause it was in the way is similar to yours when you take such good care of it. Also, I’m doing my thing out of necessity, not to just look good or whatever.
Leonie: Anyway, don’t gang up on me with this girly stuff again, alright? It doesn’t suit me and I don’t wanna waste time with it.
Annette: What, hey! ... She left. What’s wrong with her? One moment, she’s criticizing me, then complimenting me, and then criticizing me again... What was all that anyway?!
A SUPPORT (Unlocks after chapter 18 of Azure Moon)
Leonie: Phew, for a sec there, I thought we were doomed.
Annette: I don’t wanna say ‘me too’, but kinda me too. I wanted to believe from the bottom of my heart that Dimitri would snap out of it, but seeing the way he had been acting, I... I dunno, I was just doing my best to help overall.
Leonie: Oh yeah, speaking of that, I wanted to apologize.
Annette: Muh? For what?
Leonie: You know, for what I said back then after the ball. You were just trying to be nice and include me with our friends, but I overreacted like a kid.
Annette: Ahh, but that was a long time ago, it’s fine, already.
Leonie: It’s not fine. If I don’t apologize for my mistakes, I won’t ever be able to face Jeralt in the after life.
Annette: Heehee, that’s a bit harsh, but okay. It just shows how much your respect Captain Jeralt and his legacy. Was that why you were always training without a break?
Leonie: That, too. I wanted to be strong quickly so I could catch up to him quickly. It’s always been my dream to make a mercenary band and be its leader like Jeralt, you know? After the war ends, it’s exactly what I’m gonna do.
Annette: Mhm! That’s a great dream, and I’m sure there will be a lot of work even without war.
Annette: Heehee, look at us, making plans for after the war when we’re still in the middle of it!
Leonie: I think that’s exactly because we’re in the middle of it that we can plan on what to do after. Cause we remember how it was like before. And now that we’re older, we can finally put all of our training to use.
Annette: Yep. I wanna help my dad and Dimitri in Faerghus after everything is done, but I also wanna see the world and experience a lot of it! I wonder if I’ll ever have the time to do everything I want.
Leonie: Gotta cram in as much as possible with the time we’re given, right?
Annette: Right!
Leonie: Say, Faerghus’ gonna be a ripe place for mercenary work after the war, so we could still hang out after the war, don’t you think?
Leonie, blushing: Besides, now that I’m putting a bit of effort in my hair, I’m gonna need more help maintaining it from the masters.
Annette: *gasp* R-really?! You mean it? Of course!! Wow, I know SO many plants that make the hair glossy and wavy and feel good to the touch! Not to mention the sunscreen potion I’ve been researching with Mercie’s help... We got a lot to catch up to, Leonie!
Leonie: Hahaha! Count me in! Each new information will just make me that much stronger!

Day 3 - Nano 2022 Round-up
Tumblr media
Word count total: 22,182
Hours written total: 20:00
Word count today: 6,315
Hours written today: 05:53
How am I feeling: Hmm. Not only have I been slow today, but there was a lot more thinking and a lot less writing (also, Thursdays are family night so I automatically lost 3hs there).
Best lines I've written today:
After the battle for Bruma is over, and after Jauffre, Baurus and a host of other injured have been airlifted to A&E, Aderyn is having a quiet cigarette when she's approached by Hieronymus Lex. Popped under the cut because the scene is quite long (also apologies for the '{reminder markers}'). CW: strong swearing
Her hands shook in the cold, as she pulled out a cigarette. Fat flakes of snow spiralled down around her, melting where she tried to strike her lighter. "Would you like a hand with that?" Aderyn looked around. Leaning against a lamppost, bundled up correctly against the Scottish weather this time, stood Lex. His hair was pushed under a black beanie and she could see a bandage peeking through a rent in his thick trousers. Two steri-strips sat on his cheek, holding closed a lengthy gash. Aderyn sighed and held out the lighter. Lex pulled himself away from the lamp post and stiffly walked over. His hands were remarkably steady as he flicked the lighter on. Aderyn leant over and sucked in a breath, making sure to blow her lungful away from his face. "Thanks." "No problem." Lex handed back her lighter and the two stood for a moment, the noise of the market square fading into the distance. "You fought?" she asked, waving at her cheek. "Yeah." "Why?" "Burd asked me to." "Oh." Aderyn watched the snow drift past the lamp, watched as they turned orange for a moment then back to grey in the darkness. "I've been a proper cunt to you," she said. "Yeah. You have." "Why d'you keep coming back around then?" "Not everything revolves around you, Griffiths. I'm doing my job." "Yeah? What's that then?" "Ever since you and these terrorist chucklefucks entered my life, I've been playing catch-up with what the hell is going on. And the reason I keep coming around, Griffiths, is because I can see you are right bang in the middle of it all. Every time I get another call of a Mythic Dawn attack, I know I'm going to find you. And if I keep following you, eventually I'm gonna get some bloody answers." Aderyn took a long suck on the cigarette, and turned to Lex with a scowl. "I don't like what you're implying, Detective." Lex held up his hands. "I didn't mean it like that. If I thought for one second you were one of them, I would have arrested you long ago. Though that call you made, the one to tell me where their base of operations was? That helped a lot in convincing me you weren't one of them." He raised his gaze to the mess of tents. "Your lot are tight lipped, though. You Blades. Lot of secrets." He drew in a large breath. "I just want something I can spin to my superiors." "Yeah?" "Yeah." Aderyn took another large suck of her cigarette. "Alright. I gotta clear it with my superiors though. But when this is all over, you and I'll have a sit down, yeah? And I'll give you sommint to put in your reports." "I'd appreciate that, Agent Griffiths." Lex turned and stepped away, evidently considering the conversation over. "One thing though." Aderyn turned to him. Lex stopped, looking back. "What's that?" "Whatever I tell you, whatever I say I done, you ain't allowed to arrest me." Lex frowned. "I've been at war, Detective. That's what this has been for me - war with the Mythic Dawn. And in war, I'm told, there's a," she waved a hand, the ember of the cigarette carving an arc through the air, "thingy, a statute, what says whatever you do in a war to win it is necessary. And you can't be prosecuted." Lex held her gaze for a long time, the snow settling on his shoulders. Finally he nodded. "Alright." "I want your word, as a man of law." She thought for a moment, Lex would roll his eyes, but instead he paced a hand over his heart, face as grave as a heart attack. "I, Detective Captain Hieronymus Lex, do solemnly swear, that whatever I am told by my anonymous source, Sophie Aderyn Williams, pertaining to her activities against the Mythic Dawn cult, will not be held admissible, and she will not be prosecuted for them, under the {Geneva convention, acts of war}, passed into English law as statues {numbers}." He lowered his hand, giving her a nod, and Aderyn inclined her head back. "Good night, Agent Griffiths."

Today in writing...
Wrote 2.3k for Chapter Four of An Arrow Piercing the Heart’s Eye, bringing the chapter word count to 3.3k.
Linhardt had rarely appreciated being directed towards a particular goal in this way. Alright, so he had never been directed in this way exactly. The principle still stood, and the longer this went on, the more frustrated he became. It was his suspicion that wherever the castle wanted him to go, the path it had chosen for him was not the path which would lead him to Marianne. He couldn’t even say why it was that he suspected such; it was just a feeling, a feeling that he could not banish, could not see why he should even want to banish it.
I would sooner choose my own path, he thought irritably, turning on his heel and making for one of those side doors he had caught sight of the last time he looked backwards. To his relief, the door did not disappear from sight when he faced it fully, remaining solidly in place, for all that he knew it had not been there when he had passed by that spot the first time. I do not care for paths chosen by other people. If it had been somewhat convenient for him, if he had had any sense at all that it could be made to run in harness with his own wants, that would be one thing. But as it stood, he felt like a rat in a trap, if that trap was made to branch off in certain directions. The rat might not be able to escape, but he was different. He had the gift of a reasoning mind, and no hesitation about using it.
I think of Linhardt as quite a stubborn person, in his own way. I don’t really read 3H fic that much, so I have no idea how in-step this is with the way the rest of the fandom perceives him. Maybe I’m saying what everyone else is saying, or maybe this is a bit of a hot take, but I do think of Linhardt as being perfectly capable of being quite stubborn.
He presents at first as someone who just really wants to relax. He wants to have a life where he doesn’t have to worry about anything, where he doesn’t have to do anything but what he wants to. Of course, Linhardt has this understated arc where he comes to see the value in being more proactive about shaping his own life and the world around him, if only because it’s the best way to help the people he loves. (I never have thought of Linhardt as an idealist; if he’s fighting the change the world for the better, it’s on account of his loved ones, not on account of ideals.) But still, he wants to ultimately have a peaceful life where nothing much is demanded of him, even if several of his paired endings see him veering off in a different direction.
The thing is, Linhardt has to have been incredibly stubborn and bull-headed to have clung to that for so long. That is not the path of least resistance for him. The path of least resistance is for him to accept his inheritance, become Count Hevring and become the Minister of Domestic Affairs. If anything, Linhardt’s stated desires for his own life involve going down the path of most resistance. The only thing that seems to have held him back from renouncing his inheritance before the game even started is revealed by one of his confessional notes: a sense of guilt over knowing that, since he’s an only child, he’ll be putting his parents in a difficult, precarious position if he chooses not to inherit the family title. (And we see that, even at the beginning, the main thing that influences Linhardt is his care for his loved ones.) I do think that Linhardt really, really has not thought through just how much more labor-intensive his life will likely become for him if he chooses to become a commoner, but I also think: he’s perfectly capable of being stubborn in other ways, too.

taurus in your chart shows where you need stability
Tumblr media
TAURUS IN 1H: you need stability within yourself. feeling ugly, not enough, insecure or worthless can make your day feel shitty. you’re always working on appearing better than you did last time and your looks are very important to you. 1H also deals with lies so knowing someone doesn’t have good intentions towards you or is lying makes you feel unstable.
TAURUS IN 2H: taurus is the original ruler of the second house and the second house represents our money and our belongings. you need to associate around loyal people and you need to feel financially secured. you might overthink the people you care for a lot because sometimes you might think they’re doing something they shouldn’t behind your back
TAURUS IN 3H: 3rd house deals with communication and our body language even our siblings and taurus mercuries hate being misunderstood so this taurus in the 3H means you need stability with people even strangers or classmates. you might talk slow and people rarely pay attention to you which bothers you. in a relationship you want your partner to feel comfortable around you enough to be touchy touchy so you don’t feel stable in the relationship if they’re not showing love by touch
TAURUS IN 4H: people usually think 4H is only about family or the mother but it’s also about self care. you don’t feel stable if you’re not taking good care of yourself or if people are trying to control your life. you need stability within yourself and how your life is in general. arguing with your mom might affect you a lot in a bad way so having a stable relationship with her makes you feel better
TAURUS IN 5H: overthinking the slightest bit about your partner could drive you insane and sad or if they are sick you don’t feel complete because someone you care for isn’t alright. you need to know someone truly loves you and is being loyal while you’re not present. as the fifth house is also associated with drama you need to be sure there’s no drama in your life in order to feel stable or you don’t have any problems with anyone.
TAURUS IN 6H: well this placement can show that a person could be a bit bigger/chubbier so you might feel insecure a lot and you worry a lot about your health. you want to feel good in your body and not look at yourself in the mirror and think about negative things, when you finally find the motivation to start fitness you will feel stable or you feel stable while you are doing fitness. not having a job could also make you feel really out of place and unorganized so if you ever phase problems with finding a job it could feel traumatizing
TAURUS IN 7H: most of your relationships did end bad and you felt like they were a waste of time, so you’re always thinking too much about when will the right one come? when you get married even small fights with your spouse could make you instantly be in a bad mood so you just need a good romantic life in order to feel stable and in place. your friends or whoever you’re hanging out with not showing they care or refuse to do even small favors for you also affects your mood and you need to know people care for you as much as you do for them.
TAURUS IN 8H: 8H deals with sex and your goals so if neither of those are fulfilled currently you feel unstable and you have lots of worries. someone complaining about how your personality is or how you made them feel in bed could make you doubt yourself for a long time and you can’t seem to step out of that dark place you’re mentally and emotionally at. you also hate having to wonder about people and their actions, you seek to be treated right because you might have not been treated good a lot or in the past
TAURUS IN 9H: when you’re sad/upset traveling could be the key here in order to make you feel better or some good advice. being judged for your beliefs/your culture or religion irritates you as well too. it depends if you’re protective over it or not and if you aren’t you might even fake your background just to fit in. you want to be accepted for who you are and you want to live life in the best way possible to feel happy and stable
TAURUS IN 10H: your reputation is very important to you so making yourself look good in everyone’s eyes is also very important to you especially if you have prominent libra placements. your dad could be the one thats always emotionally trying to manipulate you which makes you feel stressed out and annoyed about your whole day. you need to feel at peace in order to feel stability in your life. you seek happiness!
TAURUS IN 11H: 11H is your friends, social groups, the future and your hopes/wishes. you’re always rushing to be the best version of yourself but you just need to accept life how it is right now and believe that your dreams will come true just be patient (this placement shows impatient people) you might try to manifest many things at once and it doesn’t work out which gets you annoyed or upset but that’s probably because you’re mixing all those energies together all at once.. like i said work on your patience. your friends are like a second family to you so being at peace with them also brings you stability and this is especially important to you if you have personal placements in your 11H.
TAURUS IN 12H: no matter what you did to someone in life karma got right back at you, and you might build self hatred for yourself sometimes too because you truly believe you didn’t deserve karma and you might self pity a lot too. so much hate being built up in your heart brings you instability so doing shadow work could make it all feel better for you. you find stability when your life isn’t filled with problems or drama and you feel stress free. you need stability within your spiritual self, your ego and so on.

I am curious, I've been watching the discourse going on for a bit without getting involved and at this point I feel like I have to ask.
What is the desired result here? Why are you engaging in the discourse at all? Clearly this is not a discussion, so what do you gain from interacting at all?
(I will send this to several people, just out of curiosity)
Alright anon allow me to explain what's been going on with me on my end.
The year is 2019 (yes, we're doing this). FE3H has just come out. I play it and rather enjoy it actually. I've got a couple of ships that I'm into, some fanfic I want to write, etc.
I go onto Reddit to chat with people about the game. Now I don't really like Edelgard, but I'm chill, I'm open to discussing the game and getting alternate viewpoints. Initially it's more or less fine.
Then some posts start coming up. People start getting really aggressive about this. I'm trying to have a conversation, but it feels like their goal is just to shout me down. I get in arguments, I get in fights, I get misgendered, I get called a bigot, I get frustrated, I get ablest rhetoric spewed at me, and I waste my life.
Stop. Take a look at myself. I'm literally sitting here arguing about Edelgard von fucking Hresvelg for hours of my day. I'm annoyed, I'm irritated, I'm always in a bad mood. Ugh.
Now it's 2020, early times I think. I resolve to stop looking at Reddit so much with regard to this game. It's not worth the hassle and the frustration. I should be, like, out doing things and having fun not wasting my time arguing with a bunch of weirdos on the internet. I want to have fun again, not be angry. I delete the Reddit app from my phone and install a blocker on my web browsers, even.
Start using Tumblr for more than just shippy stuff, and find people who agree with me, who are saying the things I've been saying. I stop feeling crazy for liking the game the way I like it. I make a few posts on my main blog but you know what, I don't really want my main blog embroiled in this shit, though I want to add my voice to the conversation. So I make this side blog.
Make some posts. I get flooded with asks from other people about the game, saying they agree with me and they're thankful that they aren't the only ones who think the way I do. I think within like a month of existing this blog had double the posts of my main blog (which has existed since 2016, so for four years at that point), most of them from asks.
The blog was initially for me to vent and throw in my two cents here and there, but I figure I'll keep it around in regular use because people seem to be benefiting from it.
Early on I tried to establish a rule for myself that 1) I wasn't going to go looking in any main tags (e.g. the Edelgard or Edelgard Positive tags) for stuff to reblog or talk about, and 2) I wasn't going to go into any Edelgard specific spaces looking for stuff to talk about (e.g. r/Edelgard or even Dimitri-critical tags). However, anything maintagged that was looking for a fight (e.g. a Dimitri-critical post in the main Dimitri tag) was fair game.
I'm not perfect, but I did try to stick to that rule. I talked about things that happened on the main FE Sub or FEH sub. I did my best to encourage my anons to not go seeking out stuff to bring back to me from Edelgard spaces. After all, this blog was meant for venting and having my own personal space where I could talk about my views without getting accosted. I thought it would be petty for me to go bring back stuff from other places.
Moving into 2021, I was kind of done with 3H. I was still getting like dozens of asks a day about 3H discourse. I'd answer one and five more would pop up in their place. By now we're like, well beyond 3x or 4x the amount of posts I have on my main blog. I'm getting kind of tired of it. It's a lot of the same points over and over and over. We're in pandemic times, so I can't even walk away from it and do something else IRL for a while before coming back to it. I feel like I'm wasting my life again. I feel like I've said anything and everything I could have possibly said about the subject. I ask people to stop talking to me about Edelgard. Eventually, everyone mostly obliges.
I still chat about it here and there, but I'm chatting about other stuff too. This blog is still about venting just about venting about more than 3H. A lot more petty fandom shit in general.
Now we're in, like, 2022. I don't remember exactly, Pandemic Time makes some of this a bit of a blur. I notice a new kid on the block, doing basically what I'd noticed happening on Reddit. Going into the wrong tags. Picking fights. Posting things in the wrong tags. Picking fights.
I'm over it, I'm done, I don't want to deal with this shit anymore. I block the dude. Most people I know block the dude or ignore him. We figure he's new here, he just hasn't learned the etiquette.
He gets increasingly hostile. I'm not really paying that much attention, just getting info about it from the fringes. Again, we figure eventually he'll just go away if we ignore him.
Then Nilsh gets harassed off the platform.
My mutuals are getting increasingly hostile anons and combative reblogs.
At this point I'm relatively unaffected. I guess because I don't tag anything, so he didn't find it.
And you know what? I'm still like "he'll get bored. He'll leave eventually." We were all like "just ignore him, he'll leave eventually."
People try to explain tags to him. Try to help him curate his experience so he quits arguing with people who don't want to talk to him all the time.
Then Moonlitboar gets harassed off of the platform. They take the URL. He's bragging about having done it. He's spreading this vitriol to other platforms and convincing others to join in on the harassment.
And I'm like. Okay. This dude isn't leaving. This is what he wants. His goal isn't to talk about this game—his goal is to hurt us.
I unblock him and respond. We go back and forth. He stops... for a time.
Here's the thing. I didn't re-block him after that, and I didn't do that for a couple of reasons. First, because at this point I'm still hopeful that he's just unaware of what he's doing, and that he'll acknowledge how messed up it was and apologize. I'm all for second chances. The second, because he's dangerous and I'm worried that if I don't keep tabs on him, he's going to try to hurt me.
It's not long until he's doing the same shit again. He tries harassing BWIIDT, he tries harassing FantasyInvader, he tries harassing Ezra, he tries harassing RandomNameless, he tries harassing Emblemxeno, he tries harassing Gascon, he tries harassing people I've literally never even heard of. I keep calling him out, and he tries harassing me. He calls me hysterical, accuses me of acting like a victim. Tries to make me feel stupid and small by saying I don't have anything worth his attention to respond to.
(By the way dude, my point about that was that you were being misogynistic but treating discourse like it was only worth responding to if it came from a man. See, I noticed that you only liked to attack people you thought were cishet white men like yourself, even if we were saying basically the same things at times. The fact that you continue not "debunking" any of my posts doesn't upset me; it proves my point)
He blocks me. I can't say for certain why, but my bet is that he realized people were actually listening to what I had to say, and having a queer woman question the actions he purported to be for the benefit of queer women wasn't a great look for him.
He's still trying to harass me. He's taking screenshots, he's using my name, he's @ ing me. He's casually lying about me. He's using sexist rhetoric implying that I shouldn't be listened to because I'm just too ~in my feelings~ and he's the true victim of my hysterical victimized martyr complex (geez, you sure a a feminist ally for that one, aren't you?)
You know, I did actual research when one of my anons accused him of being a trump supporter and tried to lie about him? I burned an entire evening on that, because I didn't want to be spreading lies about people. Meanwhile he lets his anons casually and repeatedly misgender me without so much as a passing correction, and he hangs out with people who spread lies and slander accusing others of heinous crimes.
And you know what? If I knew it was going to be like this? I'd still waste that evening and correct that anon. It's not about getting a petty win or convincing people he's a bad person for me. It's about being respected.
So to get back to your question. Why am I doing this? Because I have to. Because I know that if I don't he's going to hurt someone else, just like how he hurt Nilsh and Moonlitboar. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, after all. We ignored him and he didn't leave, so now we have to say something.
What's the desired result? I want to be respected, like I've tried to respect them for almost the entirety of this blog's existence. I want my boundaries acknowledged. I want him to stop hurting people for no other reason than to hurt them, because they don't agree with him.
When will I stop? When he stops.

Alright, so I decided to try to explain what are my gripes about Byleth's writing.
I am sure you are expecting me to say "it's because they are bland and have no personality". No.
In reality, the problem is the reverse. Byleth HAS a personality, and a pretty defined one at that. They are a rather stoic person, who emotes little, have problem to express their feelings to others... in short, a kuudere. This present in FEH, in Engage, in Hopes.
It's present in Houses as well, but the problem is that Houses refuse to acknowledge it. Instead, they treat Byleth as if they were an empty blanket for the player to create their own personality when they aren't. Byleth is a fixed character with a define personality so it doesn't work.
People have always compared Byleth to Joker from P5 and it's no wonder, 3H uses a lot of mechanic similar to P5. And the self insert is no difference. The one major difference is that unlike Byleth, Joker, despite having a personality of his own too, his more fluid in his intereaction with others so that the different options presented to the player can't really feel out of character for him to express. That mainly comes from how Joker is canonically someone who hides behind a persona but you get the idea.
Byleth however can be used saying things that simply don't fit their character and who they are. For example, Byleth is someone who doesn't really have a sense of humor nor understanding the concept of 2nd degree. So when the game let you choose an option that is "witty" or "teasing" or "joking" it feels out of character for them. Another example is with how they behave with Jeralt. We all know that when meeting Alois, Byleth can choose to deny being of Jeralt's family which result in lowering the "support point" we'll say of Jeralt. However, does it make sense for Byleth to even say that ? Answer, no. You know that when you play FEH, Engage, Hopes and even Houses. Their other intereaction make it clear that Byleth isn't one to actually say that to Jeralt. Sure they don't call him dad, but they care for him to much to ouright deny their relationship, even as a joke. Another one. When meeting Catherine, Byleth has the choice to say that they are better then her... does it make sense for them to say that ? No. Byleth is someone who is rather modest and not very competitive. To the game's credit, those cue exist only to "trap" the player in losing affection points but the problem is that they look too way out of character for Byleth to even say in the first place.
For example, in Goody two shoes, you also need to watch out what you say otherwise your level of suspicion will rise up or you migh even be killed on the spot. But all the different choice option actually make sense for Elise to say, for what kind of character she is, it fits her personality either way. For example, when you spot Eugen's horse and that the villagers doesn't believe you because it disappeared, the result of insisting in telling the truth result in a raise of suspicion from the villagers but it make sense for Elise to actually insist since she is presented as a rather tomboyish stuborn and arrogant girl. However, she also ending up to refuse to tell them the truth and backing up from some of her statements also make sense, and it mainly comes from the phrasing and how her cue are written to fit her character.
In Hopes, Shez got the same treatement. In Houses, Byleth didn't. So it resulted in their personality feeling very inconsistent, and making most of the character's reaction and Byleth's "character developpement" resulting in being shallow.
For example, Byleth's character arc is them slowly learning how to emote and show their emotions. An example is during the Battle of the Lion and The Eagle. When you win, the house leader will point out at Byleth smiling as being "rare". Ok. Now imagine that you mainly choosed the "witty" cue, the "teasing" one resulting in a Byleth that actually seems to be rather teasing and joking type : does this work anymore ? No. It doesn't. And I'll also add this but F!Byleth being a little more "emotive" then her Male counterpart kind of contribuite to weakening this progression.
Another problem is the "support points". Back to P5, you had actual social event that were entirely linked to the gameplay and that actually helped both Joker's characterization and contributed to give stakes to the player in trying all possible cue and optional dialogue by having different endings. 3H doesn't have that and the progression feels artificial as this doesn't really matter since you still have other way to unlock support with your character such as the battlefield. That and the fact that you don't have supports with a lot of characters when needed. Jeralt for example. You can intereact with him in the monastery but those are limited to rather quick dialogue and Byleth's silence kind of create a distance and cold feeling when seeing them intereact, mainly because unlike for the students who are supposed to progressively get attached to Byleth, he is supposed to have know them since forever. And that's where being the Avatar comes into play to ruin their relationship. To justify Byleth's lack of knowledge on some matter, the plot justifty it by "yeah, Jeralt sheltered them". A knowledgable powerful mercenary, who lived like this since childhood and is feared as the "Ashen Demon"... doesn't know sheet about the continent they live in..... wow... And blamming in Jeralt just make him appear as a terrible dad when he actually isn't, from his intereaction with Byleth you see he is an ok dad, trying and actually caring for Byleth even if he too isn't very good at showing his feelings. But this excuse is just... bad. Robin and Alear had amnesia, Corrin had being kidnapped and kept in a tower, Joker had comming from the countryside,... Byleth's excuse just feels convoluted. And you can't even claim that they are stupid but because all the other iteration of Byleth and 3H itself showed Byleth is actually very clever. So the idea that like Shez, whose ignorance is due to the fact that they are canonically an imbecile doesn't work for Byleth. And even acting like Byleth actually knows what's happening in Fodlan doesn't really matter when the character are going to exposition dumb you... and that it can lead to further confusion as the plot progress.
And probably the funniest example of 3H's inconsitencies.... Byleth's birthdate. At the begining of the game, you have the possiblity to choose a birthdate for Byleth... and if you do that, you can create a plot hole because turns out Byleth already has one. It's the 20th of September. And I remind you that Byleth is supposed to not know they age because they never celebrated their birthday.... so how do they know their birthdate ? How do they not know their age when they can just count ? People usually explain it as "Jeralt lied about Byleth's birthdate so they player can choose it" but Sothis reaction made it clear that it's not the case. And I know people explain it as Sothis is Byleth's consciousness, their recollections and can't remember anything so she believe that"... no. You can see it from the tone, you can see it from the phrasing. It's genuine. And also, Sothis isn't Byleth's consciouness and she has her own memories as demonstrated by 3H itself and she also admitted to not know about Byleth's life, so it's obvious she actually doesn't have acces to Byleth's memory nor consider what Byleth holds as truth to be true for her, that's even why she can disagree with Byleth ! Another evidence of that is the line you can choose when introuding yourself to Sothis. You can choose "I am a demon" and would you say that Sothis will call you a liar... even though, Byleth is saying the truth. They are the Ashen Demon. Sothis's answer kind of shows that she doesn't have access to Byleth's consicouness ! And even then the game doesn't want to acknowdlege that so I don't think it was meant to be a lie on Jeralt's part. Really. And if Jeralt lied about their birthday, then it makes the whole "we dont know Byleth's age" all the more convoluted because if they know their supposed birthdate, then they should logically believe to be around a certain age ! If they celebrated their birthday, then they must have an idea or at least a fake age !
Also, when people are saying that Sothis is Byleth's conciousnes, this means that things Sothis is supposed to remember will feel familiar to Byleth, not vice versa. Sothis is never shown to be familiar with things that Byleth remember well !
Also, it should be noted that if after the timeskip, Byleth's birthday is to be celebrated... you celebrate the date that you choose, not the one that Byleth is supposed to have discovered to their actual birthdate. And that in their character data, it will still remain the same. The fact that their actual birthday is the 20th of Horsebow Moon is never acknoweldge, never do we have Byleth and Sothis ponder about it or learn why this date matter
AND that in Hopes.... they are somehow aware of their birthdate. Even though Jeralt didn't told them a lot of things common to in Houses. And we are never told what exactly would push Jeralt to give them their actual birthdate... but we also are never told that Jeralt lied to them...Do you see what I mean by being an Avatar makes everything about Byleth very convoluted ? If you actually need to try to find a resonning that is never explained in the original game or at least based ont hings very much established, it result in you doing the writer's work to fix something !
And about the justification for how they behave... well. Here is the thing. In P5, Joker is canonically established as hiding behind a certain personality and reveal his "true self"only in the metaverse so it actually allows you to choose certains option without feeling OOC because you are aware Joker is hiding behind a mask and also because Joker's main character trait, sense of justice and defiance, are traits that can easliy blend with most of the cue that are avaliable. That's not the case with Byleth's character trait. Stoic, emotionelss, that's what is justified by the "you are the child of an artificial life bearing the soul of the Goddess and the crest is the reason why you don't emote as you have no heartbeat". This means that some of your choices won't fit this personality. For my case, I would only choose what I though Byleth would say. What was character fitting of them. Needless to say, it resulted in some of their possible cue appearing to me as OOC, especially after playing Hopes.
Byleth is a fully established character, like Shez and they are even charaterized as foil to each other, but unlike what Houses did for Byleth, Hopes never pretended that Shez was an empty blanket ignoring the blantant characterization waiting for them.
And that's hurting Byleth's character developpement as well as many things being rushed. Jeralt's death for example. It's supposed to be the first time Byleth cries, it takes a whole chapter and then... it doesn't matter anymore at some point. This is supposed to "stay relevant" as in AM Byleth's supposed to still be after the Agarthans or in CF where Hubert is going to have a cue telling that you are actually angry at them but should be patient.... and that's it. It kind of feel like Jeralt's death was pointelss for Byleth's character as it doesn't develop them. You wanna know who did it way better ? Engage. Even though we spend like 2 minutes with Lumera before she dies, she won't stop haunting the narrative, she is Alear's main motivation and we get to learn more about how much Lumera mattered to Alear's live, making the void creating in their life by her dead all the more striking, even more so in 2nd playthrough. Jeralt doesn't get that. And it's mainly because of how little the few intereaction with have with him and Byleth shows the extend of their relationship. And the fact that you can choose some of their cue end up making it feel disingenuinous. We will feel for Byleth and Jeralt but... that's it. Eve, Awakening did a better job, and this mainly comes from how Chrom spoke of his relationship with Emeryn and have a chapter dedicated to that. Byleth doesn't have the possibility to talk about how much Jeralt meant to them and realizing the void left in their life.
Heck, even Hopes did it better. This is one key moment that got left and not fully explored, like the parallel between the 3 battle of the Eagle and the Lion since...this chapter post war doesn't exist in some route...yeah..
Another little problem I have is that the Academy phase isn't really excting. And here is the idea : normally, you are in peace phase right ? So why is it that the only moment we can spend with the students are class and mission ? Yes, I know there are the social links but going with the idea that the students aren't shown all spending time together bonding and that it's instead relegated to the supports between 2 character so when we are supposed to believe Byleth is spending good time with their students, it feels empty. In fact, most of the light hearted moment in 3H sometimes feels kind of bleak and or weak because of this. So it's kinda hard to see Byleth fufilling themselves as a teacher even though we know they would like that since Byleth dislikes killing... since we do nothing but that. Running in circle, solving mysteries Scooby gang style.
And this mainly comes from the fact that Byleth is supposed to be a guide figure to the Lords and students and get some of their spotlight lost to them. People often try to defen Byleth saying that a character staying static isn't a bad thing and yes... but this wasn't what they tried to do with Byleth. They did that with Shez, but Byleth is supposed to have a character developpement, it's just that it's rushed and sloppily done because they have to hand their spotlight to the lords characters.
Finally, for a game like 3H the sort of character/protag they choose for Byleth doesn't work. It's a game aimed at discussin politics but politics is something that is active, not passive and where each of you choices matter. Byleth is made passive and only one or maybe 2 of their decision matters to the game. And that's it. This makes some of their "guidance" towards the student feel empty.
And also, I am not saying this to sheet on Byleth cause I actually like Byleth and that's because I am actually able to see that they have a personality and a real character, but that the way 3H handled them greatly affected their writing as well as 3H's writing in general.
But it should also be said that while I think they did a better job with Shez when it comes to character writing, it's not the personality that is a problem. Being quiet and stoic is a personality. The problem is the execution : whereas Shez is able to rephrase some of the cue in their own way giving a sense of character, Byleth can't. And the silent is here not doing them much favor.
And also, what I said about Byleth not working as a protag for the type of game that 3H tried to be also applies to Shez because both are made way too passive. But I might dwell more on that another day

hey can you do their reactions on first date? i'm loving your posts
WayV's First Dates
Hey anon :) Thank you so much for your request~!
I hope you enjoy
Kun:
Tumblr media
Kun had recently asked you out on your first date
You honestly didn't know what you were expecting to do when he came and picked you up from your place
But spotting a cute little picnic basket and a checkered sheet in the back seat of his car, it clicked
He was going to take you out on a picnic, duh
He knew after your years of friendship that you adored his cooking
So he thought "maybe I should just cook something just for them and I"
When you two arrived at your destination, being the gentleman he is, he helps you out of his luxury Mercedes
(He wouldn't admit it but he wants to flex a bit for you)
And honestly, this place was beautiful
"Kun, it's stunning here.. Wow"
You marvel at the lush green grass and the beautiful weeping willows decorating the open field
He linked his hands with yours, the picnic basket and sheet in his other
He led you to a very specific spot, next to a small trickling stream
"I come sit here sometimes when I'm feeling overwhelmed, y/n. I thought that since you know.. we're dating now I should begin to show you my safe places" he said as he spread out the checkered sheet and set the basket on top of it
You planted yourself on top of the sheet, and he followed
After opening the basket, he pulls out your lunch
It was simple, but adorable
He had made precious little bite sized sandwiches and beautifully decorated heart shaped cookies
Two cans of coke for you two to drink as well
And a bag of chips
"I hope this is alright, y/n.. I know it's not much bu-"
"Kun, it's absolutely precious. I love it so much."
He smiles and laces his hand with yours
You two spend hours sitting and enjoying nature
Maybe you two fall asleep in each other's arms and wake up 3h later when the sun is setting
Ten:
Tumblr media
Ten was extremely nervous about picking you up for your first date together
He was slightly worried that maybe you wouldn't enjoy what he had planned
Slightly? I mean he was nearly shaking because he really wanted to have many many dates with you after this one
If he messes up now, it could nuke the possibility of any other dates
He had told you to dress somewhat formally
Preferably in a suit and tie or a flowy dress
So when he sees you walking to his car from your door, he's starstruck at how you look
He had planned taking you to a waltz class and then to an Italian dinner
Guy wanted to be extra
So when you arrive at the class
And you realize what he had planned
You're flustered because
Holy shit, you're expected to dance with the man that is known in the music industry partially because of his dancing?
You're nervous, yet so grateful
He guides you slowly and eventually you get the steps
And the way it feels to be in his arms as you two dance together ignites a fire in your heart
All you feel for Ten at that moment is just an insane amount of love
After the class is finished, you're in awe when he takes you two a dimly lit restaurant
A candle lit restaurant as well??
Damn, Ten really knew how to get you in the loving mood
When he drops you off at home, you invite him in for tea
He asks you for a dance
And you two waltz around your living room like a couple of fools
But a couple of fools that were in love
Winwin:
Tumblr media
It took months before Winwin actually got the guts to ask you out
He'd manage to get half the question out before changing the whole conversation
So when he finally forced it out, and you accepted
He was over the moon
But now the problem is..
Where should he take you?
He decided to settle for something easy but just as special as anything else
And that was taking you for a walk in your local park
It was fall, so the leaves were turning and the air was somewhat chilly
"y/n, to warm our hands, do you want a warm drink?"
"Yes please, Sicheng"
You two went to get coffee/tea
And with your coffee/tea in your left hand and Sicheng's hand in the right
It gave you a feeling in your chest like a roaring campfire
You two talked for what seemed like an eternity
About anything and everything
Sitting on a bench, hand in hand
As you watch people and their dogs stroll by
Eventually, you started to get a bit cold
So you two made your way back to your apartment
You invited him in for snacks and maybe some TV
As you were watching some randomly picked out b-movie
You two fell asleep in each other's arms
Lucas:
Tumblr media
He's actually adorable. I just wanna hold his hand.
When Lucas originally asked you out
He never thought that you'd actually agree
So he didn't think of anything past the idea of asking you
When you went "sure, I'd love to go out with you. What would you want to do?"
He halted
"I don't know.. Maybe just go see a movie on Friday night?"
It was a basic idea, but an idea nonetheless
So when Friday night came and he picked you up
Poor guy was super nervous
You two settled on seeing some action spy movie thing
You didn't want to admit to him that sometimes during these movies, you get motion sick
So when you get the slight nauseated feeling from keeping your eyes on the fast moving screen
You hide your face in Lucas' shoulder, doing deep breath exercises
You grab his hand and as he realizes you're not exactly feeling well
He rubs tiny patterns into the top of your palm
"Do you maybe just want to go walk around the mall, y/n? We can leave now if you'd like"
"Yes please.."
He guides you out of the theatre and into the adjoining mall
As your eyes land on Build-a-Bear Workshop, you give him puppy eyes
"Xuxi, let's build a bear together!"
Oh, how could he say no?
So you two build a stereotypical teddy bear together
But with one of those hearts that they put in that does the little heartbeat thing
He admires the way you look as you butt-fuck the stuffing into the bear (idk how else to describe it I'm so sorry)
And honestly, he has a bit of a hard time letting you take the bear home but he has to be the charming "yes, you can have the bear" type #MatureXuxi
He's so happy when you agree to another date ;)
Xiaojun:
Tumblr media
Xiaojun preformed at your local bar on Saturday nights
As his best friend, you'd always agree to be there
Until he asked you something that genuinely surprised you
"Do you maybe want to come and see my show as... my girlfriend and date? I mean, you don't have to but..."
"I'd love to, Dejun."
You had been having certain feelings for Xiaojun shortly after you two developed a friendship
Anyways,
On Saturday night, he had picked you up
At the bar, you helped him prepare for his performance
Setting up the microphone, tuning his guitar, etc.
He had written a song for you that he would perform in front of the audience
And God, if your face wasn't flushed at the way he introduced you to the crowd as his girlfriend
Then it definitely would've been after he sang this song about how handsome/beautiful you were
After his performance, he sat across from you at your table
"Did you like it, y/n?"
"Y-Yes, I loved it.."
He reached his hands across the table and grabbed your hand
"I love you, y/n."
He pressed a gentle kiss on the top of your hand
Quite a weird first date, but a very heartfelt one.
Hendery:
Tumblr media
You and Hendery had a specific place to always go as friends
And that was the arcade
He loved how you'd jump around and smile after beating the high score on one of the flashy machines
He also found it hilarious when you'd input "ur mum" as your name after you've absolutely obliterated 1st the place score
So when he asked you
"y/n you think you'd like to go on a date with me to the arcade? I mean like.. a date date"
It kinda hit different
I mean, it was the place you'd always hang out with him
But this wasn't as homies
This was as blossoming lovers
You were unreasonably nervous, and so was he
You two eventually stopped being shy around each other
And started pushing each other around if you or he wanted to play one of the games you've played millions of times before, first
The way he cheered you on as you played some type of Street Fighter
It really opened your eyes to how you truly felt about Hendery
Every compliment that he spilled
It'd make your face flush
I mean, you knew you had a bit of a crush on him in the first place
But now? Now you knew you were undeniably in love with him
After this little occasion, you two started to go on more date dates to other places besides the arcade
Yangyang:
Tumblr media
You and Yangyang spent the majority of your time at the PC cafe with each other
Playing some online games
Sometimes other members of NCT would join you as well
It became something you'd look forward to at the end of the week
You and Yangyang were almost ALWAYS teammates
You weren't too sure if he always requested to be on your team because he liked you or because he thought you were a good player
Maybe both?
Definitely both.
After your hangout with Yangyang and a handful of NCT members, he asked you out for a trip to the bakery
"y/n, you maybe wanna join me to the bakery? I'll buy you something... it'll be a little date"
A date?
"Sure, Yang. I'd love to. Free food is a bonus too."
Your face went red as he slips his hand into yours and pulls you towards the bakery
You two unknowingly kept your hands grasped to each other's as you picked out a small dessert
"Yangyang, do you maybe... like me?"
"Like you? Of course I do" he squeezes your hand "I think I like you more than a friend should like a friend"
Oh so this..
This WAS a date
"I like you like that too, Yangyang..."
He flashes you his signature Yangyang™ smile
"Then lets do little dates more?" he asks
"Yeah, I'd love to..."

Except it ISN'T about the war in general. It's described as "a war drama depicting the journey and sacrifice of the emperor and her companions." Dorothea even mentions that it'll be an opera about Edelgard in their support.
It's not as deep as "Edelgard doesn't want information about the war in the form of a musical getting out". It's just her going "Yeah no I don't want a play about me with me as the main character because it's embarrassing."
As I said, Edelgard does plenty of fucked shit, but that isn't an example of one of them. There's no secondary motivation about not wanting the play outside of "I don't WANT a play about me it's embarrassing".
Theres a huge difference in "Rhea censors things and holds back technology" and "Edelgard bans her friend's musical about her because it embarrases her but ultimately relents and lets Dorothea preform the play."
One is serious, the other very much isn't. The ending doesn't even say she banned all plays about the war, just that SPECIFIC play by her friend which was ABOUT her.
I'm sure you could find evidence of Edelgard ACTUALLY censoring shit, but this just isn't it.
(assuming it’s the same anon, if it’s not then sorry!)
Alright. Let’s go with this. It’s not Edelgard hiding information about the war from the public - even though we already know there are some aspects of the war she doesn’t want anyone knowing, let alone the general public, such as Arianrhod, and even though we already know that things such as the war against TWS was explicitly hidden from the public.
This is still censorship. You even say it’s her banning the play - that’s literally censorship.
And you’re right - this isn’t the same as Rhea. Rhea hid knowledge from humans that they’ve already shown to use for malicious purposes, up to and including genocide and nearly ruining Fodlan, respectively. Edelgard is throwing around her power as Emperor to ban art because she’s, in your own words, “embarrassed” over it. You are describing her as someone who’s so childish she can’t stand people depicting her in a way she doesn’t like for literally no other reason than she’s embarrassed. This is abuse of power, full stop.
Because yes, I can point to instances where Edelgard hides things/lies about things to make herself look better than she is or to otherwise benefit herself. I can point to when she takes Byleth’s credit at the Battle of Garreg Mach, to the missiles dropped on Arianrhod, to the shadow war against TWS, to her lying about “allowing” the people of Garreg Mach to escape when she attacks pre ts, so why, then, is it so unacceptable to believe that this is another instance of her doing what she’s already been shown to be capable of doing multiple times?
Or, alternatively, why does that suddenly make it not serious? It’s serious that Seteth is willing to censor anything about romance from the library, because it’s suppression of art. That is Seteth abusing his power as a high-ranking official of the Church to ban things he personally doesn’t like, not because they’re an inherent threat, but because he’s an overprotective father who’s too scared of his daughter getting with anyone and getting any ideas about romance (or is too grossed out by his sister gettin’ funky with Wilheim). He’s letting his own personal feelings get in the way of the spreading of harmless art and that is a bad thing.
If Edelgard didn’t initially allow this play that was (implicitly) written by someone close to her, what would stop her from banning any play about her she doesn’t like? If she already has multiple details about the war she doesn’t want the people knowing, what would stop her from censoring any play about the war? This one only got a pass because a friend of hers wrote it, and it still got banned and it still needed that friend to convince her to unban it - not everyone in the Empire is her friend. And also, this is only after she herself watched the play, so does every play about her need her to personally vet it (or in general vet it) for approval before being allowed to be shown to the public? Is that how art of her is going to be treated in her society? All because she’s too embarrassed?
And I’m sorry!! I don’t want to sound rude, but “I'm sure you could find evidence of Edelgard ACTUALLY censoring shit, but this just isn't it” except it... is? An example of her actually censoring shit? This is an example of her using her position as Emperor to disallow the production of art due to the contents of said art being considered unfit for public consumption as decreed by solely Edelgard? Because she personally doesn’t like what’s in it - by your explanation, not even for objective reasons that could actually disadvantage her? How is this not censorship, and why is this not serious?
Because, again, this is not her going up to her friend and saying “Hey, I’d really appreciate if you don’t do this” like their supports, which I have literally no issues with. It’s her demanding the entire Mittelfrank Opera Company not produce this play they wanted to perform. There’s a difference between a huge political leader going to their personal friends and asking them as friends to not do a certain thing, and that same leader forbidding the general public from doing that same thing under law.
So either Edelgard is banning this play because it’s about the war and she doesn’t want the possibility of it revealing any information she doesn’t want the public to know about and is willing to abuse her power to ban it and is only appeased once she knows a close friend of hers wrote it and even then only after she’s seen the performance for herself... or she is banning this play because she’s embarrassed about any possible haha details coming out about her and she’s willing to abuse her power to ban it and is only appeased once she knows a close friend of hers wrote it and even then only after she’s seen the performance for herself.
Both are bad. They may not be equally bad, but they are both very bad. Censorship is so rarely good that 3H had to come with a literal impossible scenario for it to be even possible to justify (”this nearly genocided race of dragon people with magic blood needed to hide the history of their magic blood from people that wanted to kill them for it”), and it’s definitely not good for as petty a reason as “nooo, don’t talk about me like that //>~<//”

United in Song
okay so this has been in my drafts for I don’t even know how long and I’m tired of it sitting there collecting dust, so please enjoy this fluffy 3H platonic one-shot.
/////
If there was one thing Dorothea missed about the opera, it was the audience.  There was a certain kind of thrill that came with standing on the stage, staring out into the darkened crowd while the music swelled beneath her voice and feeling their tension, knowing that they held their collective breaths in anticipation, in wonder of her song…there was nothing else quite like it, in her experience.  And while she didn’t really want to go back to that life of endless practices and performances, of cutthroat rivalries and patrons as dangerous as they were wealthy, she felt a little pang standing in the Garreg Mach cathedral, singing her heart out for absolutely no one.
Well, no, that wasn’t quite true.  The monastery choir had finally gotten a few more members, and as the nun in charge dismissed them for the day, Annette and Hilda hurried over before she could wander off.  “Wow, Dorothea!  You were really amazing!!” the little redhead gushed.
“Aw, thanks, Annie,” Dorothea giggled, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear.  “You were both great, too!”
“You’re so sweet,” Hilda smiled.  “But we couldn’t hold a candle to you!  Your voice was so beautiful -- and I swear, it filled the whole cathedral.”
Well, that might explain all the sharp looks and decrescendo gestures she’d been getting from the director.
“It’s really a shame nobody else was around to hear,” Annette sighed.
“I know exactly what you mean.”  Dorothea scanned the rows of empty pews as they walked toward the doors, feeling again that ache of longing.  Even when they did get to stand before an audience, something told her they would just be the choral lead to a devotional hymn for some religious service or another.  “Sometimes I really wish we could just…go out and perform, you know?  Show off a little, hear the applause…”
“…well, why couldn’t we?”
Dorothea paused at the top of the steps, reeling her mind back from another stage dream to focus on Hilda.  “I didn’t think they did that here.”
“Not that I’ve seen.  Or heard about,” Annette agreed.
“So why not do something about it?” Hilda asked.  “Put on a musical performance!  There’s lots of places that would work, like the lawn outside the classrooms, or the walk along the dormitories…”
“Would that really bring in an audience, though?” Annette pointed out.  “Back in Fhirdiad you’d see performers doing shows on street corners, but they never really drew crowds or anything.”
“And wouldn’t it be nice to have a real stage, and a real audience?” Dorothea sighed.  It was a quiet walk across the bridge to the monastery…and the whole way, she just kept turning Hilda’s suggestion over and over.  It really would be nice to have an opportunity to perform…maybe she could ask Professor Manuela about it--
“This is it!!”
Dorothea jumped at Annette’s excited squeak, whirling just in time to see her grab something off the Bulletin Board.  “What is?” she asked, taking the parchment and smoothing it out.
“A flier for the Weapons Tourney?” Hilda read over her shoulder.  Apparently this month’s challenge was for axe-wielders, and while the pink-haired noble might excel, something told Dorothea that she wouldn’t go anywhere near it without proper incentive from the Professor.
“No!  …well, I mean, yes, that’s what it is, but I mean -- this is the answer!  We have a music tournament!”
“…a music tournament?” Dorothea repeated.
“Yeah!” Annette giggled.  “We could have sign-ups, and people could bring their instruments or sing, and it could have brackets just like they do in the training grounds, only they’d be competing with their music!  And the audience response could be how the winner’s picked!”
Dorothea felt a smile dawn across her face.  “…Annie, that’s brilliant!  We could get a sponsor to help judge ties, and offer a grand prize for the winner…”
“We could make fliers the way they do for the training ground matches, too!” Hilda added.
“I bet if we ask around the monastery, we could get tons of sign-ups -- and I’m sure lots of people would want to see it!” Annette insisted.  “Ooh, this is so exciting!!”
“It’s a wonderful idea,” Dorothea agreed.  “And I’m sure if we join forces, we can make it into a dazzling show.”
As they put their heads together to plan, for the first time in ages, she felt a thrill of excitement for what lay ahead.  Garreg Mach might not have much appreciation for music now -- but if they got their way, Dorothea would make sure that changed.
-----
“A music show?  Oh, you mean like they’ve got at the fair?  Hey, count me in!  Are you gonna have snacks?”
“No, Raph,” Dorothea sighed.
“You sure?  Everybody likes good food -- I bet you’d get a ton of people to come if they could eat while they watched.”
She shook her head, fighting back a smile.  It was hard to be frustrated with him when he was so enthusiastic, but she did wish he’d think about more than food.  “Do they have snacks for the weapon tournaments at the training grounds?”
“Heck yeah they do!” he laughed.  “I never miss a tourney, they’ve always got something for the people in the stands…”
“…huh.”  She hadn’t known that.  Maybe they could ask about refreshments: after all, everything else had been going splendidly so far.  Professor Manuela had been over the moon when they approached her with the idea, and had swiftly appointed herself as their ‘impartial’ judge (said with a wink that made Dorothea certain she was far more partial than she’d ever admit to being); while the former diva took to planning and preparations, including venue selection and construction, she left the three students in charge of gauging interest and getting early sign-ups so they could start preparing their brackets.  Hilda, rather expectedly, had complained of feeling poorly, so Dorothea had agreed to help out in canvasing the Golden Deer…which had led her, rather unexpectedly, to Raphael and his surprisingly helpful suggestion.
“Alright,” she agreed, making a note for later.  “I’ll see what we can do about snacks, then.”
“All right!!” he cheered.  “You’re the best, Dorothea!”
“Aw, thank you,” she smiled.  “But would you want to take part?  You know, be up on the stage in front of the audience?  We’re looking for any kind of musical talent, whether you sing or play an instrument…”
His face scrunched up for a minute in deep, somewhat painful-looking thought.  “Hmmm…I’m mostly good for muscle,” he shrugged.  “Don’t get me wrong, I love music!  I’m just not much good at makin’ it -- oh, hey, have you asked Bernadetta yet?”
“Bernie?”
“Yeah!  Oh, man, she’s got this little brass thingy she plays -- she was playin’ it in the greenhouse one day, an’ I heard it from all the way in the training grounds!  It was the best thing I’d ever heard!”
“Interesting,” Dorothea mused, scribbling another little note down.
“You didn’t know?”
“Bernie’s pretty shy about her talents,” Dorothea confided.  “Seems she’s got all kinds of hidden ones…”
“Uh…if you go ask her, can you maybe…not tell her I told you?” he asked nervously.  “See, uh…she got pretty upset when I found out, and made me promise not to tell anybody, but then you came talking about music an’ stuff and I just got real excited about maybe seein’ her up there an’ hearin’ it again, so…”
“Oh, Raph, you’re a sweetheart, aren’t you?” she giggled.  “Don’t worry.  I won’t say a word.”
“Thanks, Dorothea,” he beamed.  “You really are the best.”
-----
“M-music show?  Me?  Perform!?  How did you find out?  Did Raphael tell you!?” Bernadetta demanded through the tiny crack between the doors of her room.
“Raphael?  I haven’t talked to him,” Dorothea lied.  “Hilda’s asking around with the Golden Deer, since they’re her classmates, just like Annette’s asking the Blue Lions and I’m asking all my fellow Eagles.  We’re trying to get a list together of students who want to take part.  Do you have any musical talents, Bernie?”
“N-n-no!” she stammered.  “Nope, not me, Bernie’s just good for staying out of the way, yes indeed…”
“I think you’re good for a lot more than that,” Dorothea insisted.  “I know you’ve got so much talent, and it’s such a shame to hide it all away.  Maybe you sing in here, or play an oboe when we’re all away from the dorms…”
“Trumpet,” the archer mumbled.  “B-but I could never get up in front of so many people!”
“Oh, but from on stage, under the lights, you can’t even see most of the audience -- and wouldn’t it be great to share all that talent with the whole academy?”
“Maybe for you!” the archer squeaked.  “All those people out there in the dark, staring at me, and no place to hide?  That s-sounds terrifying!”
…Dorothea actually hadn’t thought about that.  She was so used to basking in the attention…but that would be scary for someone as shy as Bernadetta.  “That’s okay,” she smiled.  “You don’t have to.  But…would you maybe come to watch?  Ferdie and I have already signed up to take part, and we could always use someone to cheer for us.”
“…m-maybe,” came the muffled reply.
“And if you do change your mind about being on stage, you know we’ll both be cheering you on, right?” she coaxed.  “Annette even told me that Felix promised to come watch the performances, and you know how he feels about everything that isn’t training.  We’d all really love it if you joined in.”
Silence from the other side of the doors.  Had she pushed too hard…?
“I’ll…I-I’ll think about it.”
Beaming, Dorothea made a note on her sign-up sheet.  “That’s all we’d ask for.  Just let me know, okay?”
And maybe it was her imagination, but she thought she heard the smallest sound of agreement before the doors clicked firmly shut between them.
-----
Even in her fantasies, Dorothea never could have dreamed things would go this well.  Not only did they get enough sign-ups to make a full five-round bracket, the whole monastery was buzzing with anticipation days before the event.  It reminded her a little of Enbarr the week before a Mittelfrank production, where every group she passed on the street seemed to be talking about the upcoming show -- whether it was about their excitement to see the spectacle or despair over not getting one of the endlessly coveted (and frightfully limited) tickets.  Here, thankfully, seating was hardly an issue, since Professor Manuela had managed to secure the Reception Hall for the event: the whole student body could fit there with standing room to spare, even with the stage taking up the front quarter.
Come the morning of the show, posters listing the contestants appeared on every bulletin board, and Dorothea scanned the starting matches before the thought of breakfast even occurred to her.  She recognized more than a few names: Ferdinand of course, and herself (naturally), as well as Lorenz (unfortunately), Hilda, Annette, and even Bernie.
It was all so exciting, she could hardly bear it.
Time crawled by while she waited for the tournament to begin.  Before noon she’d warmed up, improvised a few little tunes as practice, and rehearsed a few of her favorite songs in preparation.  By the time the Reception Hall opened to the competitors, she’d chosen her starting and ending arrangements and decided on the pieces she would use if she faced any real competition.  And once the doors opened and the audience began to crowd into the available seats, she felt her heart begin to race in anticipation of what was soon to come.
She didn’t even mind that she had to wait.  The first match, to her delight, featured Annette and Bernie: blushing fiercely, the little red-head made her way cheerfully through an obviously original tune, while Dorothea’s fellow Eagle stuck to a familiar Imperial melody, squeezing her eyes shut tight and playing her trumpet at the stage rather than the audience.  In spite of that, it was a remarkable performance, and Bernie might have won just by virtue of Raphael’s enthusiastic applause -- but his thunderous cheer startled the poor recluse and sent her bolting from the stage before the match could be officially declared, forfeiting her chance to proceed.  But that might have been for the best, she supposed: Bernie clearly wasn’t big on the spotlight.
The rest of the first round and all of the second went smoothly enough.  Though she didn’t bother watching every pair, she saw both Ferdinand and Annette proceed on to the quarterfinals, while Hilda lost to Lorenz in her second bout (though the noblewoman hardly seemed bothered by the loss).  Dorothea’s own matches barely required any effort on her part to win: she’d spent so long practicing her favorite songs from her favorite operas in the days leading up to this competition, but a few simple melodies were all it took to ensure that she made it through the preliminaries.  Even against her third opponent, all it took was the chorus from an Adrestian folksong to seal her victory...though Annette lost her own bout against Ferdinand in the same round.  Dorothea congratulated her all the same, and promised to win for Annie’s sake -- perhaps a bold promise from anyone else, but one that the former Mittelfrank diva felt assured she could keep.
And sure enough, in the semifinals she not only faced her fellow Eagle but beat him handily with one of the arias she’d so carefully prepared.  He lost quite gracefully, too, applauding her as enthusiastically as the audience itself and conceding even before Profesor Manuela could announce the final judgment.  And with the round done, Dorothea made her way back behind the stage, humming to herself as she waited for the intermission to end and the finals to begin…
“Congratulations on sweeping the competition, Dorothea.”
She paused, turning to see the leader of the Golden Deer House grinning at her from a few feet away.  Mustering up a pleasant enough smile, she offered a nod in greeting.  “Why, thank you, Claude.  Are you here to wish Lorenz well before I crush him?”
The nobleman blinked.  “Why would I do that?  Lorenz got knocked out in the last round.”
Dorothea stared at him for a long, silent moment.  “To who?” she demanded, hunting about for a bracket that might give her an answer--
“...me, actually.”
Slowly, carefully, she turned again to face the leader of the Golden Deer.  “Guess you weren’t watching the match,” he chuckled, hefting an odd lute-like instrument.  “Lorenz was...less than thrilled with the outcome, if it helps.”
Actually, it just made her regret all the more that she hadn’t paid attention: she’d been looking forward to seeing his face when he finally lost.  “Well, I suppose congratulations are in order for you, too, then,” she said, turning away from him again.  “May the best musician win.”
“Oh, uh...about that.”
She glanced at him over her shoulder, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear as he drummed his fingertips along the neck of his instrument.  “I was...well.  I was wondering how you’d feel about calling it a draw.”
A thin smile carved its way across her face.  “Are you that confident you can beat me, Claude?”
“Hardly,” he scoffed.  “I have no doubt that you’d mop the floor with me.”  She felt sure he was flattering her -- but she waited all the same, watching his grin soften almost shyly, though it still didn’t quite touch his eyes.  “I was just...hoping I could perform with you, instead of having to compete against you.  Y’know, everything here at the monastery is about pitting us against each other: the weapon tourneys, the fishing competition, and now this...I feel like we could put on a better show working together than we could separately trying to one-up each other.  You can have the prize, too, if you want,” he added.  “Pretty sure you’d win it anyway, but...what do you say?”
Beyond the curtain, she heard Professor Manuela take the stage again and announce the final round to the audience.  Claude only watched Dorothea, though, seeming content to be patient and wait for her even as their names rang out over the wild cheering of the crowd.
And at last she smiled, lifting a hand to cup her cheek.  “How are you at improvising with that lute of yours?”
“If you can sing a few bars, I can probably make something work,” he grinned.
“Why don’t we put that to the test?”
“With pleasure,” he agreed, bowing playfully before offering his arm to her.  Returning the gesture with a teasing curtsy of her own, Dorothea accepted -- and they walked out onto the stage together, applause washing over them in waves of wondrous sound.  They parted smoothly, Claude taking up his instrument and strumming a few notes to ensure it was properly in tune before looking expectantly to her, waiting for her lead; Dorothea turned her own attention to the darkness, savoring the anticipation of the shadowed audience before her...and finally beginning to sing, the somber melody echoing throughout the crowded reception hall.
“Reach for my hand, I’ll soar away, Into the dawn, oh I wish I could stay…”
A soft chord joined in, the notes as sweet and clear as her own...and yet it did not overpower her voice: instead it seemed to carry the words higher, elevating the music in ways she had not heard since she left the Mittelfrank Opera House.  She did not falter, though: instead she continued, allowing a smile to creep into her voice as she sang.
“Here in cherished halls, in peaceful days I fear the edge of dawn, knowing time betrays…”
“Is this really gonna be the last song we do?” Claude asked, his voice carrying out into the dark and startling her back to reality.  “Come on, Dorothea, we’ve gotta liven it up a little!”
Even as he spoke, his fingers flew over the strings, keeping the key but tumbling into a bright, rousing accompaniment.  He winked at her when she turned to stare at him, repeating the same refrain in invitation...and though she’d only ever heard the piece as a wandering lament before, she could not deny his compelling harmony.
Their music rang through the reception hall, her voice rising into the rafters on the strum of lute strings...and for the first time since she’d come to the Officer’s Academy, Dorothea felt that familiar, wonderful thrill again as the enraptured crowd watched them perform their duet on the stage.
-----
In the fortnight following the tourney, Dorothea had become the most popular girl in Garreg Mach.  It seemed like every young man, noble birth or otherwise, wanted a moment of her time, a scrap of her attention...and, of course, a chance to hear her sing again.
While they’d agreed to a draw before ever taking the stage, Claude had gracefully conceded when Professor Manuela declared Dorothea the winner.  It had bothered her when it happened -- all the more for how she couldn’t correct the matter over the riotous applause -- and try as she might over the intervening days, she’d still been unable to set the record straight with anyone she spoke with (aside from Hilda, who didn’t seem the least bit surprised to hear it).  But strangest of all was the fact, despite now having an audience eager to hear her perform again...she couldn’t find that thrill anymore.  It had been there while she was on stage with Claude, but in every performance since -- no matter how many people she had hanging on her every note -- she just felt the same hollow sort of yearning she had in the cathedral before all of this began.
Dorothea sighed as she made her way out of the dining hall, taking the stairs down to the fishing pond and wandering toward the dormitories.  All the attention did get tiring after a while; luckily the grounds seemed deserted this afternoon, and she stretched her arms high as she tipped her head back, breathing in the crisp autumn air while the sun warmed her face and the soft sound of music drifted by…
She stopped, scanning the lawn and the path along the row of dorms.  No one was there that she could see, but she could hear the strum of lute strings; she hurried on, listening to the music grow louder and louder until she felt certain she was close -- but the sound was too clear to be coming from behind the closed doors, and there was still no one around that she could see.  “Claude?” she called, raising her voice as much as she dared.
The music stopped.  “Dorothea?” the nobleman’s voice replied -- not from beside or behind her, but from above.
Tilting her head back and shading her eyes, she stared at the young man peering at her over the eaves of the dormitory roof.  “What are you doing up there?” she asked.
“Playing,” he said.
“How did you even get up there?  And why are you playing on the roof, for that matter?”
“It’s complicated,” he shrugged.  “...well, alright, it’s not that complicated, but...should I come down so we can talk?”
Dorothea opened her mouth to agree...and paused.  “...I could always come up,” she offered.
A grin twitched across his face.  “I’ll meet you at my room, then,” he laughed, waving before disappearing from view.  Hurrying back down to the greenhouses, she turned into the stairwell leading to the second floor of dorms where most of the noble students stayed; at the top of the steps, she saw Claude poke his head out into the hall, beaming at the sight of her.  Smiling despite herself, Dorothea hurried over and ducked past him without even thinking...and as he closed the doors, she stifled a giggle at the sight of his room.
She had seen cluttered her share of dorms before -- Linhardt’s came immediately to mind -- but she’d never seen anything quite like this, with books taking up half the bed, papers spilling off the desk and onto the floor, and shelves cluttered with a mix of plants, vials, and strange brass instruments she couldn’t identify.  Claude seemed briefly puzzled by her reaction...though, after another moment, he rather sheepishly began gathering up the parchment piled on his chair to give her a place to sit.  “So what can I do for you?”
“Well, first of all I’d like to know how you got onto the roof,” she replied.  “And off it so fast, for that matter.”
He quirked one eyebrow in apparent surprise.  “What, that?  It’s easy.”  Dropping the papers in a haphazard pile on the desk, he stepped up onto the wide ledge beneath the open window, leaning out into empty space and stretching one arm up...
Claude jumped.
Dorothea lunged for him, knowing already it was too late -- but he did not fall.  She stumbled into the sill, gaping as he effortlessly pulled himself up out of sight; crawling up onto the ledge, she cautiously poked her head out the window...and saw him lean out over the eave, grinning down at her from his perch.  “That doesn’t look easy to me,” Dorothea pointed out.
“It just takes some practice,” he laughed.  “Want to come up?  The view’s great,” he added, reaching a hand down to her.
The sensible, logical, rational part of her brain insisted that she’d rather not break her neck trying to get a nice view of the monastery...even as she extended her own arm, gripping his wrist and feeling him hold fast.  She heard the instructions he gave her -- she was more than certain of that, since she never would have done this on her own -- but whatever he’d said escaped her the moment she stepped off the ledge into empty air, clutching tight to Claude’s wrist even as his pleasant laughter rang in her ears.  In the end he did most of the work pulling her up beside him...but once she caught her breath and her heart stopped feeling like a bird trying to escape its cage, she had to admit that he was right: the campus was lovely from so high up.
“You doing okay?” he asked, patting her shoulder gently.
“Better, I think,” she agreed, scooting further back from the edge.  “So, that explains how you got up here -- now why are we here?”
“Well, in my case it’s because it’s a nice day, I don’t have anything going on, and I’m tired of dealing with Lorenz, so I figured I’d come up here and play a bit.  He can yell all he wants from down there, but I’m not stopping unless he gets on this roof to make me.”  As he spoke, he removed the lute strapped to his back, strumming a few notes and idly beginning to tune it again.  “But what brings you up here?”
“Well...actually, I was looking for you,” she admitted, tucking a few strands of hair behind her ear.  “I haven’t seen much of you since the music tourney.”
“You’ve been busy,” he winked.
Dorothea rolled her eyes, leaning back against the slightly pitched roof.  “Don’t remind me,  I needed to get away from it for a while.”
“Really?  I thought you’d be happy about all the attention.”
“I was at first,” she sighed, “and it’s been wonderful to have more chances to sing, but…”
She trailed off, watching a few wispy clouds wandering across the pale blue sky.  After a moment, the quiet strum of lute strings fell silent; glancing over at the nobleman, she found him watching her with interest, his head canting slightly to one side as he gestured for her to continue.  “It...doesn’t feel like I thought it would.  Back in the opera, it was always so grand and emotional, singing to an audience -- I loved that feeling, and it’s one of the things I’ve missed most since I left.  I’d hoped the competition would bring it back, and singing with you I found it again, but...I haven’t felt it since.  I’ve been feeling guilty about the way it ended up, and…”
“Hey, I said from the start that you’d mop the floor with me in a competition,” he laughed.  “I don’t mind.  I’m glad I got the chance to perform with you -- that was my prize.”
“Be serious,” she huffed.  “I’m trying to apologize!”
“And I’m saying you don’t have to -- it’s not like you had a say in Professor Manuela deciding on a winner.”
“But if I don’t get it sorted out, how am I supposed to enjoy singing like I used to?”
“Are you sure guilt is what’s keeping you from it?”
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she stared at him.  “What do you mean?”
“You said that you haven’t felt that thrill since you left the opera.  You didn’t get it again until the finals, right?”  She nodded in agreement.  “And then after the finals it was gone again?”  Again, she nodded in agreement.  “So what was different about the finals, compared to everything before and after?”
“The drama of the grand finale?” she offered.
“Well, that, too,” he chuckled, “but you weren’t performing alone, either: your melody had a harmony.”
Dorothea scoffed at the notion.  “That seems…”
She trailed off as Claude leaned forward, propping his chin on his hands.  She hadn’t thought of it like that before, but...her fondest memories from the opera were of performances with accompaniment: grand arias carried by a full orchestra, soft odes lilting over quavering strings.  “...possible,” she conceded.
“So maybe what you were really looking for was a chance to sing with somebody, instead of going it alone or singing over them.”
“I’m flattered you think I’m so selfless,” she giggled.  “Really, I just wanted an audience.”  But even so, that final performance with him, building on one another’s leads and creating something far grander and more beautiful than Dorothea could have done alone...it had brought with it a familiar, delightful frisson.
“Well, I know I had more fun playing with you than I did taking Lorenz down a peg -- and I really enjoyed that,” Claude laughed, strumming his lute again, “and I, for one, would be honored to reprise the performance -- though, fair warning, I can’t promise a crowd this time around.”
“You know, I am free this afternoon,” she grinned.  He beamed back at her, picking a cheerful tune on his lute strings -- an Adrestian folksong she recognized instantly; as she started in on the first verse and their duet drifted out over the quiet campus, she felt the thrill lift her heart again...and maybe it was just her imagination, but she swore Claude’s smile finally reached his eyes.

henlo!! i hope you're doing well! i'd love to get a reading from you, if that's okay! my placements are: sag sun (12h), aries moon (3h) and cap rising! thank you so much for this!
I swear I looked at my inbox and took a second for start the tv and get a drink of water. This is gonna be a long night, I don't think there are meant full readings left though. I'm doing very well thanks for that!
Hm, Sagittarius sun, Aries moon, and Capricorn ascendant.
The Aries moon is the loudest competing with the Capricorn ascendant. Possible glasses I feel from the Aries moon or bad eyesight. The Capricorn could cause you to cut your hair short since I feel some of them really like doing that either their chaotic energy at times✂️💇🏽‍♀️ (I always try to be careful when clicking edit ln these drafts cause it sucks to accidentally delete it ughh) SONG RECOMMENDATION LOVELIES creep by Radiohead! I'm back after getting an ice pop AND OMG IVE BEEN ANSWERING THINGS MY SHEETS ARE WARM AND I HAVEN'T OPENED IT HOW DID I FORGET. Anyways, I wondered if your profile was really you so I looked closer and now I regret I cause the characteristics will be thrown off later on sorry.
Gotta make a new paragraph that was long💀 the Aries moon is hard to see, the connection has been ruined. FOCUS I'm back okay let's go! The Aries Manor is large. I arrived immediately at gates. The place feels like a castle, all of a sudden I'm in a dress on the ground as if this is some kind of lost girl story. My expression looks really confused. As if they're asking "where tf am I" a tall figure comes down the stairs, dressed in a red dress as if her wedding with the world's biggest asshole had was cancelled. Red lips and styled back red hair, their eyes are sharp at the ends and wide in the middle (can't explain eyes lol) they offer their hand to me as if I look like the dumbest bitch at the ball lol. Long and manicured nails. Shes thin and lanky but beautiful non the less. (For all of you insecure people reading to this far I'm watching you😤 love yourself more please you deserve it) she has a butler on standby. "So what are you doing here?" A pretty basic question but I honestly feel so dumb rn lol. They act as if the quest never happened and look around for something in the room turning their head. "You're not Gemini/Sagittarius are you?" A skeptical look on their face. It's hard to interpret what they said. "Alright, maybe you're not here to pull a prank on me if you are." They grab a cigarette from a tin holder a worker offers them already lit and breathing rolls of smoke. "If not them, what are you doing here shorty?" Taking another hit, the cigarette finished by then. Time is going by faster than I thought. "Alright" I hear the click of the case in their hand closing. "If you aren't here for me then I know who, follow me." They get up to lead me up the stares. Hesitantly following after. Aura is red and flaming. Possible placements are the lover stomach or I feel the manor and small parts around it take yo the whole chest. You may have problems with heartburn, chest pains, or issues with the lungs. We leave the lavished hall. I feel there's somewhere you wanna go someday. Possible problems in class as a kid, too passionate or anger issues. Nowadays may be shy or hesitant. Aries people often are fiery, but we also turn more shy getting older.
I see a door down the hall opening it, the Aries moon is gone by now. I feel you have Gemini placements possibly tricksters with your Sagittarius sun. I see the Sagittarius sitting down on something soft and plush. Reading some kind of novel or paper. They seem very intimidating until seeing me. "Ah! Are you here to talk to me? I've been needing company!" Getting up to walk towards me. "Did Aries not come with you? They always avoid me." I see their earrings shine with the night sky. "I mean I did pull that paint trick a bit ago but to mean c'mon who wouldn't?" She once had an elegant purple dress, to match her heavy eyelashes and almost violet blue eyes. But I look into myself now. They are jokes on how we look the same now and they bet she asked me if I was them. They turn to me again after looking off for a bit. You the host may have issues with the contact under pressure or when holding conversations. They do the same thing the Aries does. They may go deeper than shown to me, lifetimes of being stuck with each other in the same hosts. May have liked each other in the beginning but something changed this. Possible placement now is the left side of the chest. Aura color is purple and starry blue. I'm no longer in contact.
I feel the Capricorn ascendant is the puzzle piece to what happened. Change that thought it's Gemini. It's not just you body but in others they've known each other I'm the placements. Possibly a love triangle turned into hate or something. The Aries moon once loved your Sagittarius, they still do. It's just things have changed and Gemini and Sagittarius are better together to Aries. This doesn't seem right. Idk how you could fix this maybe we'll see later. This imbalance could be the cause of some mental issues or your own love problems, both signs aren't as good with such things. They don't know how cause they haven't found true love yet. At least not reciprocated well enough.
The Capricorn ascendant lives in the middle of your chest in-between the abdomen and stomach proportions. This doesn't make sense to me since I believe the stairs were here. I get there, the Capricorn is sitting on the steps sketching. The Capricorn is more boyish. Dressed in a shorter green dress. Cut to the shoulders blonde hair with brown and green mixed eyes. A golden chain on the neck matching the sprinkle of gold on the cheeks and in the eyes. They look at me weirdly. As if they're appalled I ended up here. "Gonna sit or not?" They point to next to them on the steps. I sit down looking at the sketch set down for a second resting in their palms. "You can feel it too can't you?" Clearly they're talking of the energy between the other two zodiacs. "They've been like this for a long time-" "I know." I finally talk I believe after this whole reading. They look down at their drawing. "I'm pretty new here so yeah. I got it fast" they catch me looking at the pencil stokes. "You saw it before. Think it was good?" They look at me again head still down low. "yeah" I nod. "Great!" They pull me up. "Let's get away from here yeah?" There's fields outside the mansion. Green even in the night. Rolling down the grounds and getting grass covered stains and markings. This Capricorn is alive.
Characteristics: dark hair, wider eyes due to the Capricorn or Aries moon, I feel this creates bigger eyes at times. Possibly markings on the hands or arms. Height is fairly average or just an inch shy of it. Possibly have posters in your room. You may definitely need that cup of morning coffee. Strongly built with thicker bones. Took some scrapes and scratches as a kid lol.👷gap in the middle of the teeth. Your nose may scrunch and get bunny lines. Possible love for Halloween. Nice nails but they get broken easily do you have to cut them short. Struggled with self image issue younger. Causing some mental health problems. You aren't an angry person but if boundaries are crossed there's gonna be a problem.
Soulmates/ future relationship: (ignore if already in one unless curious) I feel Virgo influence here. Not the tallest person but also yes? One of those two either really tall ppl or not at all. You guys will try and keep up with each other a lot. Trying to manage schedules and make little completions on who cna do something better or first. On the couch watching movies and sharing food, okay cringey couple thing coming up. You guys may feed each other like it's normal and your friend just stare at you like "wtf??" They love our two though lol they'll get used to it. Possible meeting at s grocery store when in the bread isle or nearby. May have you call them lieutenant or some strengthening name at times or they won't even move to do what you want them to.
Other zodiac influence in your life through people: Gemini moon, Virgo moon, sun, ascendant. Possible same mercury and venus? Random. Cancer mars, Neptune.
Health/future: watch for dogs (i love dogs but I see some trouble here) cars when walking on roads or streets. Just saying duck and lay attention for the next 2 months when in a dangerous working areas or smth.
FINALLY DONE SORRY THIS TOOK LONG
