hi I love canon jily but I'm in the mood to read some aus, can you please suggest your favorites?
Hello, anon! Honoured that you reached out to me even though I haven't done these in a while and I'm quite behind on my reading, sadly! But here are some of the best AUs I've read in the past year or so. You can even head on over to my bookmarks on AO3 if you want more recs:
The Wedding Ring by @mppmaraudergirl - this one's a no-brainer. TWR!James is a wet dream, and Lauren does the pining in this story justice like no one's business (rated M)
We Have Buried the Putrid Corpse of Liberty by @mabeltothknows - I promise this fic will make you laugh until you piss your pants. Mabel is the funniest author I know, no joke.
for the hope of it all by @missgryffin - This is not exactly an AU, because they still do magic, but the entire story is based on a beach setting in the summertime, and that's my absolute favourite trope in the world! (rated M)
The Season by @missgryffin - A Bridgerton AU that's better than Bridgerton. Need I say more? (rated M)
bury it and rise above by @startanewdream - this one's canon-divergence in which Lily is a witch and James is a muggle, and Mah spins literal magic through her storytelling. It's heartfelt, beautiful, and perfectly gorgeous (rated M)
Who Knows Who Cares by @the-dream-team - The most adorable bi!Lily fic out there, I promise you. It's got all the right ingredients to make your heart feel warm and fluttery. Dylan's talent knows no limits ❤️
The Waiting Game by @possessingtheproperspirit - I read this late last year and the concept of it was genius! Kept me laughing from start to end. Highly recommend! (rated M)
Controlled Addiction by @hogwartslivy - I'm nuts about this fic and it's no secret. The story has an amazing setting, lots of interesting reveals, and such a sweetheart James 😍 (rated M)
If We Never Meet Again by @thequibblah - Actors!Jily AU; it's a unique, genius concept! Lots of pining, drama, the perfect amount of angst. Became obsessed with the story as soon as I read it (rated M)
Burn Easy and Easy Does It by @efkgirldetective - Anything Emma writes is pure gold, and these AUs never fail to stun me with their brilliance no matter how many times I re-read them. Plus, her smut is always exquisite 😏 (rated E)
oops I did it again by Anonymous - I don't know who the author of this fic is, but this is one of my favourite AUs of all time. The James here is to die for, it's incredibly easy to fall in love with him (rated E)
I'm sure I've missed out many other amazing AUs out there, but this list would become endless if I kept going. Please free to add on for anon in case someone has more recs (I'd love to read them, too!)

Hey hey aurelia 🥰
May i request a yandere Chamberlain siblings and Irene with a fem knight reader? Where reader is a knight of claudia from childhood but got killed by the males leads because they thought that reader is really close to claudia?
U can ignore it if you want!^^
Have a great day ☺️
(Hey Yev! Thanks for requesting this! Trigger warning: murder, hanging, etc. Yandere content also written with female reader in mind, but it is gn)
Tumblr media
Yan! Chamberlain siblings X Knight! Reader X Yan! Irene (platonic)
Tumblr media
☢ Irene read about you and how you were a middle class noble's daughter, your parents supported everything you do even when you asked to be a knight to your darling friend Claudia, you trained with Felix and soon you became a knight due to your hard-work and became Claudia's right-hand (wo)man!!!
☢ But you were unfortunately killed brutally by the three male leads, which made Irene very MAD obviously, you were her favourite, and then when she turned into Irene, she was destined to make sure you were safe. She didn't care what happened, you were going to be happy and her ship is going to sail!!!!
☢ You, Irene and Claudia are the most amazing trio, both Claudia and Irene ready to throw hands for you, a knight very much strong enough to kill three bears if they attacked at the same time, yeah, it is the trope of a big gentle and two small angry gremlins, it's fine, you like your two very pretty gremlins!!! You're very chaotic to be around, ngl....
☢ Felix often helps you train and Lerase is also there, he is impressed by your strength and finds you nice and entertaining and often leaves you alone when he is in control of Felix, he doesn't like to hurt, not only because he likes you a bit but also because Claudia and Irene will not leave him if he does so, does not matter if he is in Felix's body or in the demon realm...
☢ The moment, Claudia, Felix or Irene see any of the male leads even in a 100 meter radius, they are ready to rip someone to shreds, especially them who cheated you and killed you after betraying you, yes they gave you a love potion and then killed you in cold blood just like with Irene right before kidnapping Claudia...
☢ You also taught Claudia and Irene some sword fighting and self defense to protect themselves in case you aren't there, but it wasn't much of use cause you're always near them and always there to protect them and help them
☢ Claudia and Felix are very much in love with you, the siblings always fight on who will spend more time with you and Irene always win in that matter, cause she is your elder sister, does not matter if you're 100 and she is 12, she will be your ELDER SISTER!!!! She approves of the Chamberlain siblings and would allow you to date them on one condition, they keep you away from the three male leads, Lerase is also not one to back down as well....goodluck to you!
☢ Anyways, Felix and Claudia constantly flirting with you, Lerase also flirting with you late at nights, but dirty flirting with you which makes you blush and heat up and Lerase chuckles and smiles at you, for the first time in a million years, you don't know what these feelings are and oh! If you ever see them kill anyone, just walk away, pretty person~
☢ Also, Claudia, Irene and Felix killed the three male leads, if you're wondering how, Claudia flirted with them or they asked you to meet somewhere but they got the letter and then BOOM! Murdered!!!! They got their head crushed, stabbed, hanged and other things I won't mention as it is too graphic, but not like they care!!
☢ Okay, now father Chamberlain does not mind his child to be dating you, in fact he will get you married to the two underground where same sex marriage and poly marriages are allowed, so anyways, you got married to the two....Somehow, turns out it wasn't a dream....you get Irene and father and mother Chamberlain's blessings and prays, they love you!!!
☢ okay, now that you're married to Claudia and Felix, them sharing you, one thing that is frequent is, both of them will have you to themselves separately for a whole day, they're siblings and so they know how to share things well, they do get jealous at times though... It's fine, they have you on their lap, your head on your lap or them on your lap, cause they don't care and equality!!!
☢ Oh, please train in front of them in a tank top or something like that, they love your figure, does not matter if you're chubby or skinny or anything else, they find you attractive for you and your body and your great beauty was just a plus point!!

i was wondering if you had a favorite presidential candidate? more specifically, what are your thoughts on Jasmine and Claudia? I'm trying to compare them and watched the debate and still gathering my thoughts. curious on other's opinions! thank you!
I don't really like PSL, which is who is backing Claudia. She's decent, but they're shady and they additionally deny the Uyghur genocide so I mean...not a giant improvement from Biden's character despite their policies being pretty decent.
I do like Jasmine Sherman tho and the more I see of them and learn, the more I like. At the very least their platform and values are better than all the other options we have and closest aligned to my own. That said, the bar rn is "knows commiting genocide is bad" which isnt super high to reach lol

claudia still gets infantilized by media surrounding iwtv despite this being core to the tragedy of her condition
i think shes always been infantilized & ppl dont see the merit of her arc bc ppl rly only care about female characters in relation with romance or if they are children [or someone’s child of sorts?] in so far as they relate to the men rearing them. [cue 5001 lestat-claudia webweaves]. claudia is both selectively infantilized & excessively adultified whenever convenient to character/s [somehow both a ‘child interfering’ and both powerful enough to ‘turn louis against lestat’] nd to a certain extent by the fandom too. speaking of the show here too - show!louis now wanting claudia as his child is never disseminated for what it is in relation to louis (how he wanted children, and how hes forcibly exiled from the public sphere & makes do with the quasi-domestic) or claudia (in her want for a companion in immortality & wanting to understand the origins of their existence. in both the book and the show its claudia who initiates the question of ‘who made lestat/vampires as a whole’) but rather ppl render show claudia inert solely as a fictional moral bludgeon to character bash louis or make stuntin like my mommy/daddy posts with lestat. i was thinking too the other day how people often talk about iwtv in the sense of outcasts but never mention claudia… which is insane bc this line in the show alone says so much
But it was 1939, and the only N* allowed in first class was the porter, and the N* passenger rode the rear. The N* vampire made do with what was left, which was fine with her.
neither second-class passenger nor porter directly serving whites: claudia is the black vampire sitting in the stowaway with the dogs and people’s luggage, earlier hiding out in university corners pretending to be the cleaner’s child, engorging herself on blood and taking body parts from her victims to put in storage all if it means she could have something for herself. shes really the ult. outcast of sorts.

What if Desmond is the Assassin in the Brotherhood trailer to Ezio's right towards the end, the one with his face covered??
The Assassin in question:
Tumblr media
That would be quite the twist too. Just imagine Desmond getting punted into AC: Brotherhood and deciding to join the Brotherhood but not wanting Ezio to know who he is so he covers his face with either a full plain black mask or some kind of fabric that can cover up to his nose then the rest would be shrouded in shadows by his hood. No one knows what he looks like underneath the mask/fabric and there will be light, friendly rumors (jokes) as to why he hides his face (other recruits would even ask him directly about it).
Desmond just rolls with it and he’s actually the one fanning the flames of his rumors, giving different explanations each time someone asks why he’s hiding his face. Explanations/jokes/lies he’d made include:
He’s so ugly his mother wept when he was born
He has a scar that slices across his lips (that one he got from Dark Knight)
He’s a wanted criminal for killing all the guards and the master of the house of a noble lord
He’s hiding his face because his father is a powerful man
He’s hiding his face so he wouldn’t be noticed by a scorned lover who is somewhere in Rome (This always makes Ezio laugh)
The only thing I would change in his ‘outfit’ is that Desmond doesn’t seem like the type to use a mace. It would slow him down. I could see him using a one-handed sword or dagger like Altaïr (and any time his bleed would make him move like Ezio, he can easily explain it away as him trying to copy the mentore’s moves) or/and a bow and arrow like Ratonhnhaké:ton, focusing on ranged attacks to further support Ezio and the other recruits while not being part of the actual battle so they wouldn’t notice how good he is with hidden blade combat. Maces and other weapons with enough weight to slow him down would be something he'd pick up along the way (or from a disarmed guard) and throw out once he's done fighting.

top 5 claudia moments...
YES LETS FUCKINGGG GOOOOO
this will be in no order btw and also I gave up on just 5.
Tumblr media
"HE WHO CALLED YOU HIM" the whole fucking. Claudia taking down Lestat scene the ENTIRE thing but also Bailey does not get enough credit for that lil eye twitch she did on "always the petty slights with you" like we saw her triumphant we saw her enraged we saw her getting a lil petty with it I LOVE HER
Tumblr media
Her and Louis hugging before she goes to leave on the train.... SO MUCH TO SAY about how they interact here like oh my god I need to take take to just dissect the scene
Tumblr media
Claudia Kart
Tumblr media
Honestly like a solid fifteen minutes of scenes but I do wanna highlight the fact that Claudia in the show has actively tried to make fledglings and that's talked about the same time that she starts getting more intense with her kills and not cleaning up as often. I feel like we haven't mentioned the Nicki connection enough I feel we need to address the Nicki shaped Elephant in the room
Tumblr media
CLAUDIA COMING TO THE CONCLUSION THAT SHE WAS MADE "TO BE LOUIS' SISTER" AFTER SEEING HIM SOBBING AT HIS OWN GRAVE AND TALKING ABOUT HOW TIME DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT WITHOUT THE TWO OF THEM IN HER LIFE? WHAT IF I JUST DIED RIGHT NOW. Can somebody (me) write the fucking essay about Claudia and vampirism and self-identity/ the lack of ability to properly have one
Tumblr media
"...and you will enjoy doing it" LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST IF NOT THE BEST ALTERING OF THE BOOK TEXT SO FAR LIKE???????????? I'm too excited now I can't string my thoughts together I'll get back to it thanks for asking

Why is Rachel considered a masculin charecter?
Rachel's "masculine" character
That seems to be a common misunderstanding within the fandom, which I also fell victim to for a while. I think it stems from the English fan translation (perhaps even the French licensed translation?) about her in the Character Guide.
Yana-san tried to clear that up a while later, like in tweets or something, but it's still a pervasive misconception.
What Yana-san was trying to say is that Rachel is a strong-willed woman, much like Vincent says of the Phantomhive women. In "With Father" he was mostly talking about his sister and mother, but he probably chose to marry a woman who shares many of the same characteristics.
Rachel doesn't have the strongest physical health, given her severe asthma, but she's clearly (per the Character Guide and Vincent) the disciplinarian in the family, not Vincent. And we've seen her take charge of a situation when Vincent didn't know what to do or say (when real Ciel says he doesn't want to become earl anymore). She's also canonically the one who names the boys, since Vincent says so, explaining to the real Vicar Rathbone that he's no good with choosing names and that Rachel named their own sons.
She's also got a rather raunchy sense of humor (grabbing her little sister's boobs and being openly envious of her for her endowments). Madam Red might have developed her own naughty sense of humor partly influenced by Rachel's.
Idk exactly how the original Japanese words it in the Character Guide, but at least one translation came up with "masculine" to describe her personality. Like I said above, the fandom -- including me -- ran with it. I haven't deleted the old posts I made about it, but there should be reblogs or comments or both on some of the old posts, where I try to clear up the confusion. And there should be some newer posts, like this one, where I explain the misunderstanding.
Rachel's strong-willed and not particularly demure, with her occasionally raunchy and scathing wit. She takes charge of situations when her husband isn't sure what to do. She's the one who spanks the children when they misbehave, and so they fear her more than their father. Some would call this "masculine" of her... and that's possibly how the misunderstanding came about in the first place. She doesn't 100% fit gender norms of the Victorian era. But then again, who truly did?
Personally, I find characters who fit 100% to some stereotype to be one-sided and boring. Rachel strikes me as an interesting, multifaceted character. And we still hardly even know her....

what are the best things you've ever read? can be books or articles or anything
Oof, so difficult to try and name stuff right now. But I think some of the best writing I've ever read has been in the jily fandom, to be very honest. Everything I've learned about writing has come from devouring fics and studying these characters written in different styles and worlds ❤️

I love the way you write about writing, so I have a writing question.
How do you think the inclusion of Armand in the interview itself will affect the narrative? In the book, part of the devastation was that neither Louis nor the reader saw the betrayal coming, since Armand is all mysterious and shit (until you realize he's basically an Unseelie faerie). Having Armand's side of things be relatively open, even if he's still hiding a lot, could take away some of the impact of that reveal that he was behind "the thing." It's not an absolutely necessary reveal, but Louis being the POV character who gives us facts as they come means that if they're open about Armand's plotting from the start, the audience can get frustrated with Louis for not seeing it coming. But there will be at least some clarity provided by Armand, if he's willing to talk about his Children of Darkness days in such a way where he looks positively feral (/pos) in the promo pics.
How do you think they can pull this off?
Hi! Sorry for the short delay in replying but, as I said, I wanted to think about this for a bit before I answered.
Warning -- Spoilers for the books and possibly Season 2 below:
So, of course, the key here will be how they structure when the reveal of not only "the thing" (and I'm assuming you mean the Claudia thing) happens. But also the reveal of Armand's backstory, especially the Children of Darkness stuff.
I can only speak for myself, but the way I think/suspect they will do it is to have the first few episodes play out exactly like the book does, with the majority of it being from Louis' POV; adding in Claudia's POV (via her diaries), and with the added bonus of Armand's POV sprinkled in as well, mostly being when he's interacting with Louis -- and with Claudia when she's with Louis. No indication there is anything amiss with the way he's acting toward either of them. (Claudia's diaries, of course, are missing more pages during this time.)
If done this way, then you'd only see of Armand what mostly Armand wants Daniel (and via Daniel, the audience) to see and perceive of him, mainly through his and Louis' POVs.
And all we, the audience, see of Lestat during this time is via Louis' hallucinations of him for the first few episodes.
Then, when Louis and Armand start telling the tale of Claudia's fate, play it so that THAT is the first time real!Lestat shows up, at the trial. However, there'll be something very off in what Louis and Armand (mostly Armand) are telling Daniel about this moment.
And that is when Daniel pounces and calls them out on trying to BS him again. (Bonus points if it's a memory from during the Devil's Minion Era that helps to give Daniel a clue that they are BS'ing him.)
And it's after this that the show starts showing the flashbacks, not only to Armand's Children of Darkness days but specifically his interactions with Lestat during then.
It's at this point where it is also revealed that Lestat made it to Paris from New Orleans before Louis and Claudia did (which is what happened in the book) and that Armand has kept him locked up in a dungeon the whole time, manipulating him to testify at the trial and all that.
And, of course, then we get the real flashback of the trial and Armand's orchestration of "the thing" (including the major reveal of the head thing he did to her).
If you structure and set things up this way, not only do you keep the reveal that Armand was behind "the thing" the whole time up until it happens, but you reveal the context as to why Armand is the way he is when you do so at the same time.
I could be wrong, but I think the show might very well structure things this way in Season 2. Doing the story this way not only explains Armand's line at the end of Season 1 ("When you hear it you'll be ashamed of yourself, ashamed of what you say to him now!") but also what we know about the show revisiting things from Season 1 again.
Doing things this way has you do all the revisiting/truth/twist revealing during the last 3-4 episodes or so of the season, after what amounts to a misdirect during the first 3-4 episodes of it.
Because I don't think Armand, at the moment Season 2 starts, will have any desire to tell the full truth to Daniel about all of these things at the start. I think he is very much in the mode of protecting Louis (in his eyes) from the truth of what happened in any way he can still think of. So he'll obfuscate as much as he can after Daniel broke through the narrative Rolin Jones said Louis came up with and told himself via what Armand has told him.
I said before I think Armand knows very well what Louis would/will attempt to do -- i.e. what he does toward the end of the book Merrick -- if he remembers everything and how it actually happened, particularly wrt Claudia. Which is why these false narratives exist in Louis' head the first place. And now, with the confirmation after TCA24 that Louis wants to remember the truth, (and wants Daniel to help him do it), I think that is what it's going to take for Armand to finally stop obfuscating things (along with Daniel calling him out as well IMO).
After that is when I think Claudia's missing/cut out diary pages will finally be produced, and we'll get the things that were only glossed over before from them (mainly her feeling for Louis matching up with what they were revealed to be in Merrick). Along with this being when Armand's full Children of Darkness backstory is revealed, as well as the full reveal that he was behind "the thing" concurrent with that.
So yeah, I think a misdirect right up until the trial wrt the narrative, and then a full revisit of the narrative -- with Armand's cult background fully revealed then -- is how you can structure things without giving away Armand being behind "the thing."
That isn't to say that we wouldn't/won't see anything about Armand's Children of Darkness days before that but, if we do, I think it would be presented way more sympathetically at first -- leaving out things like what Armand and the cult did to Nicki, which is what made Lestat come in there and bust Armand's cult up in the first place. If it goes like this, then Nicki actually being there would be revealed later, during a revisiting of that moment during the second half of the season.
I think this would be the way to pull it all off and could be easily done so in the eight episodes we have for Season 2.

what do you think of the theory that Vincent is a death god now?
Hey Anon! Well, I used to be pretty against it, but nowadays I think it all depends on what we currently know about Shinigamis, which is to say not much.
What I mean is that, in ch105, Yana revealed that Shinigamis are former humans who killed themselves...
Tumblr media
...however, we do not know if that's the only way for a human to become a Shinigami.
Remember, Yana could hold onto some additional truth that we have yet to figure out, especially considering that since ch105, Sensei strongly hinted several times that the Shinigamis' higher ups are super sketchy. [x][x][x]
In other words, there is possibly a real gap between what Shinigamis themselves believe to be the truth whereas the actual truth is hidden by the higher-ups.
Additionally, that's just my opinion but, seeing as UT (and the possible other deserters he works with) is very anti higher-ups, I wonder if editing the records (to make dead people into BD) is not an idea he got from finding out some truths about Shinigamis, which led to his desertion. [x]
Tumblr media
For example, maybe all Shinigamis had their records altered in order to become Shinigamis ? And if that's the case, then maybe some altered memories (read: lies) were put to their records, making them all believe that they're overworked slaves "because of suicide" when none of it is true? Just like the redemption reward is also probably a lie.
All that to say that I believe UT's BD project is a hint to a big and terrible truth that we have yet to fully grasp (take it as a rebellion towards the Shinigamis' higher-ups, on top of UT missing the dead Phantomhives) so, for now, I think it's important to be very careful about the "truth" we were told about the Shinigami Organization.
Back to Vincent: for now, I believe that he was definitely murdered.
Tumblr media
Meaning that if suicide is really the only way for a man to become a Shinigami, then he did not become a Shinigami. However, if becoming a Shinigami is not just about suicide, but about several other factors, then it's not impossible that Vincent became a Shinigami after he died. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
In my opinion, Yana-sensei made sure not to rule out the possibility in canon, as in, she left a few hints that could be red herrings, just like they could be used to interpret that Vincent is not really "dead". Those hints are
1) ch107.5, because, even though he's supposedly dead, he wears gloves and a suit that could resemble that of a Shinigami's.
Additionally, even if the rosette power thing was just for comical effect, it's interesting that he showed up at all even though UT said he cannot be brought back as a bizarre doll.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2) the state of his body, that UT mentions in ch105.
After all, if it's burnt so badly, that means his cinematic record can't be read and thus altered to turn him into a BD, so how certain are we that they buried Vincent's body?
Tumblr media
3) the fact that he constantly breaks the 4th wall despite "being dead" (ch107.5, short story "with Father", etc), which so far has no explanation in canon.
All of these could be nothing important, because Yana's simply playing around with us, just like they could be significant on some aspects.
Tumblr media
The point is : the more the story goes, the less we have a reason to believe that what Sascha explained in ch105 is entirely true. Not with UT and possibly other deserters actively working against the higher-ups, without a real explanation from their side so far.
TL;DR the possibility of Vincent having become a Shinigami can't be entirely ruled out and won't be, until we have found out the entire truth about the Shinigami Organization.
Is the key to their fate really suicide ? Or are there other actions in life that will turn someone into a Shinigami post mortem? Until a deserter, UT or somebody else, tells their version of the truth, I will not trust the information we've had in canon so far about Shinigamis.
(Personally I'd rather he's truly and definitely dead, but if him becoming a Shinigami furthers the very important plot thread of the Shinigamis' higher ups being absolute assholes who need to be taken down, then I'll be okay with it.)
Sorry if it's a bit confusing, but there's no way to be sure of anything on that topic. Have a good day Anon!

Hi! Could you elaborate on what you meant in this ask : "the fans do not understand racial sexual politic + how desirability operate in tandem with the cultural mythological concept of vampire. and what it actually means to make louis, claudia, armand [+ whoever else] black/vampires of color.. thankfully the showrunners + team get it, but it makes some cyclical conversation about xyz or abcd topics very annoying bc its just like..idk if i should say read a real book + step ur knowledge base up or what guys.. cuz its not a mistake on part of the show or even fans who write fic or recognize such tropes."
Are you talking about the black Mandingo trope? Or something else?
funny u say the mandingo trope cuz at first fandom was veering toward that n when i first got on here i was rly wary of that trope but amc ldpdl now has the stunning accomplishment of being the first black male chara to not be treated like the mandingo. congrats🤷🏾but what i was thinking of moreso now was how fans struggle with writing armand (this is a problem from the book fandom too imo) is that they take a particularly condescending read of him bc hes a character w/ sexual trauma& how they interpret anne rice’s writing of the ukraine/armand’s relationship w the human he once was. its infantilization meets foolishness that becomes troubling when u have a south asian armand when south asian men are often totally desexualized in western media (& how the vampire in western cultural messaging relies on a lot of stereotypes of the ‘east’). its a big choice to make armand a south asian with those things in mind. ive seen some treat show armand as if hes still a 17 year old (physically) when really hes at least late 20s when he was turned & is still nonetheless, a 500+ yr old vampire. with claudia ive talked about it amply too on how ppl acted like 14 was ‘grown’ or being trapped in a permanent adolescence as a black vampress isnt a special hell of its own lol

Desmond as Claudia’s son?? 👀 my first thought was that she had him in her twenties, maybe when they're all based in Monteriggioni, and then for whatever reason gave him up, but I also think it'd be super interesting if he was a complete accident and Claudia absolutely refused to give him up even in the midst of all the Assassin drama. lil baby Des being raised in the Rosa in Fiore, seeing a side of the war with the Templars from an entirely different perspective, with Ezio being simultaneously The Uncle but also not knowing the first thing about how to interact with Desmond, especially if he thinks Claudia conceived him through sex work (whether or not that’s true, I don’t think Claudia would correct him lol she has absolutely no patience for his weirdness around being okay with courtesans as long as they aren’t his family)
hope you’re doing well, darling~ –🍞 anon
We talked about this idea a bit in this “anyone else could be a better parent than Bill” idea and I think we can combine the two ideas?
Desmond wouldn’t be raised by just Claudia, he’d be raised by Claudia, Maria and the courtesans of Rose in Fiore.
He’s their ‘mio bello’ and he’s never seen by the clients but he does hear the stories, especially when he was so young everyone thought he wouldn’t understand them.
His younger siblings are all his half-siblings because Claudia had him with a nice man visiting Monteriggioni. They loved each other but not enough for the man to stay, leaving Monteriggioni a few months before Cesare attacked.
If you want to add more drama:
(1) They were planning to tell Ezio about their relationship in hopes of him giving his blessing but he died during the attack on Monteriggioni.
(2) He did leave Monteriggioni before the attack but it wasn’t a coincidence. He was actually a Templar spy who would later become a member of The Crows. (Maybe even one of the four horsemen, probably Carestia)
Anyway, Desmond doesn’t really care about his father and Claudia marries another man later on who cared for him like a son. His younger siblings love him and he usually babysits them whenever his parents are busy.
It should be noted that Claudia did marry and have children of her own while she was in Monteriggioni but that’s only in the book Renaissance. There, she married the captain of Mario’s mercenary group so it’s up to you if you want to go down that route. He probably died during the attack on Monteriggioni and there’s a possibility that she had more than one child with him.
So if you want, Desmond could be a baby born months before the attack and grew up in Rose in Fiore later on. He would probably have an older brother and, if you reaaallly wanna mess with Ezio, that older brother could be a reborn Altaïr who is not impressed him at all XD
I'm doing well! I hope you're doing well as well 🍞nonny~!
