For those asking for my new food list, I'm technically up to 22 things I can eat safely if you include the small handful of spices I can manage and basic stuff like salt and baking powder/soda. Which yes, can be allergy triggers for some.*

The list is:

Chicken, Oats, Egg, Olive Oil, Milk, Cornmeal (which means I can have bread, waffles, and breaded chicken!), Leek, Maple syrup, Cane Sugar (sparingly) Potato, Red Grape, Spinach (extremely sparingly), Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Pink Salt, Rosemary, Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Marjoram, Butter, and Apple

Quite the array for someone who was living on oats, water and chicken just over a year ago :D

My hope is maybe in December or January to get either sweet potato or bell peppers back into my diet. So keep those fingers crossed for me fam. There’s just about nothing I wouldn’t do to be able to eat sweet potato fries again lol

Allergy explanation/ramble under the cut for anyone who wants it.

*If you're wondering how on the Gods green earth salt can be an allergy, the salt itself is not the problem. It’s the anti-caking agents found in table salts, which can be mast cell triggers for people whose immune systems have forgotten how to immune system. It's honestly minuscule and not a heath hazard unless, as I said, your immune system borked.

A bigger issue though is iodized table salt. Most table salts are iodized to help with iodine deficiency, which can be a problem for people with dextrose allergies, cause dextrose is often used to stabilize the iodine. Again, this is perfectly normal and healthy unless you have a corn allergy/sensitivity to corn, which is what dextrose is made with. Same with a lot of vitamin Cs and citric acid in the US. Most of them are derived from corn. My body is very fussy about corn products and can only handle 100% organic corn due to the trace amounts of glysophate (a common herbicide) sometimes found in conventional crops. Especially in things like wheat, corn and oats. 

Like a lot of people with MCAS, my most significant allergy is synthetic pesticides/herbicides, which is why I'm on an all-organic diet per my physicians' orders. Which honestly kind of sucks not only because of how expensive it is, but because organic pesticides are less regulated by the FDA and sometimes MORE dangerous as a result. But my options are death now or potentially cancer when I'm older, so y’know *shrug emoji*

With that in mind, please, no one suggest I take up farming. I can barely stand some days, let alone grow enough food to keep me going year round.

Dukexiety making soap: Remus eats the lye flakes whenever Virgil isn't looking. The one time Virgil noticed and yells at him for it, Remus just says it tastes like hot sauce.

Also Remus eats the soap (it's probably like an eggplant emoji tbh) as soon as he's done making it and Virgil just slams his head on the table because it hasn't even been 4 weeks that's when it can be used as soap why are you eating it

Remus isn't trusted with the laser thermometer because he tried to flash it on Janus's face when he was napping to see how cold he was. Janus threw the thermometer in his face for that one

Virgil panics when they get to the mixing of the distilled water and lye flakes but he doesn't trust Remus to do it either because he'll probably down it like a shot so Virgil does it while muttering "fuck me, fuck me, fuck me, fuck me, fuck me, fuck me," as the container starts heating up with the chemical reaction and Remus just says, "i'll do that once I chomp the soap, spider,"

"Fuck, is that trace??"

"Idk, just wing it, I'll eat it either way,"

They tried making bath bombs but Remus just kept snorting the citric acid and basically everything that was white and powdery to make it so they settled on soap

They once tried to wing making the soap. That was a mistake. No one discusses the Great Fire of 2020. Well, everyone except for Remus.

🔪- scariest/creepiest experience?  Ok this is a bit of a story. When I was a kid, I had to take antibiotics or some kind of pill for something I don’t remember. The thing is, that I had to take 2 a day, 12 hours apart and one of those times was at night (around midnight). I was a good kid and I used to go to bed early (not like now that’s 1:30am and I’m still up lol) so by the time I had to take the medicine I was so deep in dreamland it was impossible to wake me up.  Most of the time, my mom managed to guide me to the process of taking the pill without me being fully awake, kind of in a sleepwalking way. I was like a zombie. My mom always tells me how I used to look at her with dead eyes while kind of laughing drunkenly? Like I was not making any sense, but at least I would take the medicine and go back to sleep normally.  One day tho, my mom was giving me the glass of water right after I zombiely put the pill in my mouth, and I wouldn’t take the glass. My mostly asleep brain was processing the awful taste of a powdery pill disolving in my mouth as nightmare fuel and I started to dream (while sitting in my bed with my eyes open, kind of half asleep). My dad, heard my mom talking to me kind of freaked out, she was asking me if I had swallowed the pill or if it was still in my mouth. He came to my room and tried to fully wake me up, shouting… (I know, great father, scream at a sleeping 7 year old).  They say you should never try to wake up sleepwalkers… they’re right. Between the bad taste in my mouth and now screams, my nightmares went crazy! I could see real life, cause my eyes were open, but because my brain was mostly asleep I started seeing the distorted face of my dad shouting. It became to a point where I realized I was asleep, that I should wake up fully, and take the glass of water, swallow the pill and ask my idiot father to stop shouting, but I physically couldn’t. It was so weird!  After that, my mom decided she was gonna give me the medication only once a day instead lol
