Why insert romance into one of the only shows that cherish platonic love more?
I talked to a respectful destiel shipper a couple of days ago and while they were completely respectful, there is one thing I can't understand for the life of me. Why does there have to be romance in everything? I am aroace which is probably part of it, but why can't platonic love exist? ( This isn't meant to be a dig at wincest shippers. I am very well aware you guys know the difference between fanon and canon and love the brother/soulmate/best friend/parent or adult child relationship of Sam and Dean just as much as I from a non-shipper point of view do.) Why does everyone have to kiss or have sex? Platonic love does exist and it baffles me that Dean and Cass can't just be friends even with Cass' goodbye scene. I guess I feel like they see romantic love in everything and it irks me a bit. Maybe destiel shippers are young? I'm 15 though so why would that be a factor? Is it more society's fault than anyone else's?
Why is there so much emphasis on romantic/sexual love and not a lot on platonic relationships? The one show that actually puts emphasis on a relationship that is platonic. The one show that has Sam and Dean choose each other over any romantic interest. The one show that has two brothers in a QPR. The one show that has a possible a-spec reading of one or both brothers. (I've only ever seen one for Dean but I'm sure there is one for Sam as well. ("Sex is sex and love is Sam." I love this quote so thank you to whoever wrote that.)) The one show that has Dean waiting for Sam in heaven because heaven isn't perfect without his brother. Why do they watch this show if they want a focus on romantic interests? I just think if they want a show about romance there are other shows available. Especially if you want representation. Why torture themselves when there is nothing there? ( I see the speech at the end as platonic but even if it was not it wouldn't change anything. At the most it's unrequited.)
Not to mention there are problems with wanting it in canon. ( Shipping it in fanon only is a whole other thing but while I'm sure there are destiel shippers who may do this I'm talking about ones who actually wanted it/saw it( from Dean's side) in canon.) The first problem is Dean canonically is straight. Plenty of evidence for that. The second thing is his love for Sam. Canonically they have left love interests and friends for each other. There is no way in canon that Dean doesn't dump Cass at some point even if Dean was bisexual. Dean could be literally any sexuality but if Sam existed and he was ever aware of it Cass would be fed to the wolves. Also, I don't even like Cass ( I'm a Sam-leaning bibro who is still mad at Cass for breaking Sam's wall and rendering Sam's sacrifice in season 5 meaningless by saying yes to Lucifer in season 11 and messing everything up.) but Cass is literally an angel. Angels are jerks and I think they got that from Chuck but they are also warriors meant to be in an army. I don't even like him, but I know it's a disservice to his character.
That being said shoutout to respectful destiel shippers. I can't say I understand but I thank you for being respectful because a lot of destiel shippers (hellers) are not.

“…there’s a contingent of VERY bitter shipping/meta people that screamed I was *too arrogant* about the authors or alchemy interpretation, because *they* had brought *their* moby dick meta or whatever and Jensen was like “?????? no?” Did Jensen shoot down the Chuck Won thing? I know someone was trying to give him a physical copy at the Phoenix con on behalf of its author.
IDK about Chuck Won yet, but look. I've been here a long, long time. What 2po has literally done is groom a dedicated cult server of people with agendas and biases.
The section I was talking about was the S14~ period that 2po *started* the "cult" screaming because tarot and alchemy meta. It's where those hysterics of his originated before he drifted his reasoning dramatically, as compulsive liars do.
Back in the day, people were all THATS JUST UR INTERPRETATION and I was like. no sorry it's just the show. UR SO ARROGANT!!! *OUR* meta got shot down what makes YOU better. IDK. Not trying to force a square peg through a round hole and writing about what they're actually doing. YOU CAN'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING yes I fuckin' can. OUR META GOT SHUT DOWN damn, sucks to suck. -- which, now you see, this is why he can't read or acknowledge the crew saying how much it all means while they tweet it out. This was the audience he played to with his cult hysterics first, before migrating the messaging to groom in other people with other biases and hate boners.
So anyway, you get bundles of Pissy Cool Girls mad about that. You get the banned server coup gremlins. You get the doxxy motherfuckers. You get the wincels, the bibros, and everyone trying to build their last stand of relevance. You shove them all in one server where they pretend "CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?" fandom moderacy is a new concept nobody ever tried in 2022. And really they're more of a hatedom that plasters over charity work they were nearly forced into from heat. You know. Spend 50K at gold panel cons "for charity autos" to raise a whole 4K for the charity back. Why gold and not silver? Iunno.
spnscripthunt is some of the deepest bloated rot of the worst lanes of fandom and piloted heavily by people with agendas like that. Hell, wigglebox was someone banned for a bunch of shit like stalking jensen's personal private home address via tree triangulation (hilariously, 2po once tried to go OH YEAH WHAT ABOUT THIS and show... me looking at roofs in a general neighborhood in hawaii nobody lives at?). She stunted bad over the 15x20 scripts, got weird as fuck, bitched and moaned about The Purples cuz she couldn't get access in my server, then OH LOOK WHO'S IN THERE SUPPORTING 2PO BEING SALTY AS FUCK, I WONDER HOW THAT HAPPENED.
Don't forget when, among the many misguided doxxing or accusation attempts 2po has tried (doxxing the wrong person as mish related, screaming about the wrong patreon), 2po dragged another Winchesters fan hub account that he thought I was still involved with, but had left months ago. Why? Because if he got shrill he could divert them to WIGGLEBOX's Winchesters Updates, and she was fine with these attacks against Winchesters Hub.
It's literally a hatedom server that's been spitshined enough that people don't realize it going in, it puts on a nice mask, but if by the end you aren't hating on the show or engaging in doxxing people, are you really part of that server at this point? Regardless of what any individual users THINK they're doing, the mods explicitly cultivate that server to inspire bad biases and use their following for aggro hate attacks, anon storms, doxxing, and more, by warping information and keeping them segregated out of culture like an ACTUAL cult by telling them DONT GO ACTUALLY READ WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING, JUST READ WHAT I TELL YOU THEY ARE SAYING shit. Which is how you get people insisting I say things that are DEAD OPPOSITE my blog messaging. He only sends them to my blog long enough to dump hate anons. Or attack a Winchester hub. Or attack a user. Or doxx a person. Or threaten a person.

Jack’s explosion leading directly into the title card is a nice touch: it’s a fun forth wall break, intertwining Jack’s explosion in the fiction story into the real-world title card, and fitting in terms of how Jack goes onto become God and the fictional creator/shaper of SPN’s world.
Jack becoming God also fits with the standard superhero trope of the “reluctant hero.” In contrast to Billie, in contrast to Chuck, Jack doesn’t desire the power of godhood for himself, but takes it on to save the world. It shows up multiple times in the MCU and almost entirely uncritically in each case. (Of course “God” as a role isn’t something to get rid of; it’s about taking the “Bad Guy” in Chuck out of the role and putting the “Good Guy” in Jack in that role instead! Problem solved.)  I’m entirely disconnected from Marvel now so I hadn’t realized how much the end of this season drew on the MCU. Chuck even does a Thanos snap to kill the whole world at the end of the ep lmao.
In contrast to the last ep, Dean jumps to protect Jack when Billie tries to kidnap him, and so ends up the first one to maim Death (even if Cas technically takes her down in the end). Then again, it’s also Dean who chooses ‘wrong’ in going after Billie to kill her (wanting revenge / leaving family & friends) and unintentionally gets Cas killed, just as Billie is in the wrong to go after Dean in revenge and gets her desserts when Cas drags her to the Empty with him.
SAM Hey, I got a job for you. JACK Me? SAM Yeah. I need you to drive. JACK But I only drove once. SAM I've got work to do. You know, I gotta dig through the archives and work on finding spells. I can't do that with one eye on the road, so. SAM gestures for JACK to move over. JACK slides into the driver's seat. JACK Okay. Okay. I'll... Drive. JACK starts the engine, and they pull away from the gas-n-sip.
Sweet little scene between Sam & Jack. Of course Jack wants to feel like he’s doing something, so Sam gives him the rein in driving the car. Also some very obvious symbolism for Jack “taking the wheel.”
CASTIEL I know. I know how you see yourself, Dean. You see yourself the same way our enemies see you. You're destructive, and you're angry, and you're broken. You're "daddy's blunt instrument." And you think that hate and anger, that's... That's what drives you, that's who you are. It's not. And everyone who knows you see it. Everything you have ever done, the good and the bad, you have done for love. You raised your little brother for love. You fought for this whole world for love. That is who you are. You're the most caring man on Earth. You are the most selfless, loving human being I will ever know. You know, ever since we met, ever since I pulled you out of Hell... Knowing you has changed me. Because you cared, I cared. I cared about you. I cared about Sam, I cared about Jack... I cared about the whole world because of you. You changed me, Dean. ... I love you.
It’s confession time! And it’s... fine? It concludes an arc for Cas that was a long time coming--the writers were clearly aware of Bibro/Wincest vs. Destiel within fandom, and wrote the story to draw in both sides of the fandom, even if the bro bond is overall more emphasized--and Berens being gay himself gives the scene a certain legitimacy it wouldn’t have had otherwise. It’s fully within the show’s framework that “love” is the highest virtue, that caring about people means you’ll do good, which is a very bog standard idea (and one I disagree with, but that’s a tangent). Also repeating S15′s idea of sacrificing for what or who you love, and those sacrifices being worth the cost.
I don’t see Dean as being written, nor Jackles playing him, as reciprocating Cas’s feelings, altho I can understand why someone would want to read it that way. (There’s a funny meta abt how the show ends up being kind of like a YA love triangle between Sam > Dean < Cas, particularly in Dabb’s seasons.) Also recently watched a vid arguing the confession is queerbaiting, by putting it up alongside the latest season of Doctor Who (which in its penultimate ep had the Doctor and her companion Yasmin confess their feelings for each other, and then ignore that confession almost entirely in the finale and they go their separate ways) to talk about how sometimes, queerbaiting = queer representation = queerbaiting. I don’t agree with everything in how he frames Destiel before 15x18, but do think his discussion of 15x18 is fairly good.
Concerning that 3x10 reference... imo Berens doesn’t at all understand the nuances of that ep, esp the Dean - Dream!Dean scenes, so the call back rings unfortunately hollow. Because the way Berens frames “daddy’s blunt little instrument” neatly skips over Dean’s internalized anger at John for treating him like a soldier, even a tool, instead of a child, and how that particular dynamic warped his identity and sense of self.

There seems to be a lot of fighting in this fandom over how people interpret different characters, and while I think it’s stupid to fight over this stuff in any case, I’d still like to make an attempt at helping everyone find some common ground re: Dean + commitment (specifically marriage).
I know a lot of people don’t like the whole Destiel/Saileen weddings endgame (and for valid reasons, personally that one is lower on the list for me but as an annoying multishipper I still enjoy it in some cases!), but I think the “Dean would never ever want to get married” take is not the greatest — hear me out.
It’s all about perception. A huge reason as to why marriage was not always his thing was because he never believed he could have this kind of steady presence and this normalcy in his life (so marriage would also signify moving on from his past life and embracing a new one). During a lot of the earlier seasons and even in the later seasons, marriage wasn’t a thing on the table for Dean; in the beginning, marriage is seen as an either/or scenario, in that getting married (to someone who... isn’t Sam) would mean an end to his life with Sam.
We see a significant change to the discussion in later seasons, with a focus on settling down with someone in The Life. (i.e. someone who can accept and love all parts of them, including the hunting life they share with each other, so it isn't an either/or with hunting and marriage/a family/whatever, but rather an enhancement of what they've already got). So once things started looking up in later seasons (and post-canon), I think he would’ve opened up to it a bit more (remember how he talked about retiring and going to the beach and stuff?).
After defeating Chuck (however you imagine them doing that), they'd know that there is no one messing with their lives, there's no next apocalypse looming that keeps them caught in a destructive cycle that can only sustain both brothers. They can expand now, have each other in their lives and a significant other on top of it. Even here, with Dean having hope for the future, I understand why one might be still hesitant to believe marriage is something Dean might want to do — which brings in my next point.
I think marriage IS within the realm of possibilities for Dean because it would be a way of his partner, whomever that may be, promising they won’t leave him; which is something Dean struggles with a lot. His whole life people left him and he had no idea how to ask them to stay (I could talk about the “I want you to stay but I don’t know how to ask you to” / “I want to stay but I don’t know how to tell you that” and “person who pushes people away before the other person can leave” / “person who leaves before the other person makes them” Destiel dynamics all day, but I digress). So I think the concept of binding his bond with someone (even in just a small, not-extravagant and not-legally-binding way like just getting rings and saying “we’re married” then bickering for a hundred years) would be incredibly reassuring to Dean and allow room for a lot of healing in his relationships and himself in general.
Obligatory author’s note: I know I mentioned Destiel in here a few times, but I promise I’m a bibro and big time codependency enjoyer that thinks even if Sam and Dean got into separate romantic relationships they’d still live very close to or with each other because they’re just that insane. I just also happen to be very multiship and Destiel made the most sense for the examples I was giving; the message I am trying to convey, however, can apply to any Dean ship.

THAT EPISODE! So Cas fans how we feeling? 2 MOTW episodes in a row have not only called the codependent brother bullshit STUPID and AWFUL but have made it glaringly obvious that CASTIEL is the catalyst that makes THIS WORLD DIFFERENT. I said this last week but this ep drums it home.
Every single time the AU bros killed each other, in OUR WORLD it was CAS who was directly responsible for preventing their deaths. The THEN sequence ended with the DeanCas break up which made it pretty clear that the intention is to keep Cas's role in mind. Perhaps this ep shows that Dean was RIGHT about Cas always making things go wrong, only he missed the point. He doesn't make things go wrong for Sam n Dean, but for CHUCK.
Gosh I have so much to say. This ENTIRE SEASON is about thwarting (I love this word btw thank you Good Omens for bringing it back) the bronly death ending. I'm in love. I've never been more satisfied as a meta writer than I am right now. WHAT EVEN IS SUBTEXT ANYMORE?!?
(I copied my tweet thread over here because I need to scream about this on two platforms because GUYS GUYS GUYS THIS IS THE MOST VALIDATING THING!)
Look this episode and last week both gave us a generic MOTW story without Castiel and BOTH episodes pointed out in a crazy meta way how DULL and overdone those episode formats are. Even the subtext is so blatant the writers mock their own way of sending messages in MOTWs. This episode, with the brother werewolves who tragically died murder suicide style, were a classic example of what SPN has been doing for YEARS with the mirrors and parallels that for so long we meta writers were mocked for even trying to point out.
I didn't think they could make it more obvious than they did in 14x04 but this episodes showed us how blatantly obvious Chuck's story parallels are with trying to teach the brothers a lesson. They've brought this stuff directly into text and basically screamed at the audience LOOK! THIS IS WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING! DO YOU UNDERSTAND YET?!?".
Then to top it all off they heavily criticise their own format in text and load it all onto Chuck. If this isn't the writers telling us they are breaking away from the usual structure I don't know what is.
Then there is Castiel, so glaringly present in the negative space once again thanks to THEN sequence that forces the audience to remember him. His absence being so cleverly weaved into Sam's dreams in particular. Demon!Dean murdering Sam only for the show to once again scream BUT CAS SAVED HIM in the negative space.
Castiel is Chuck's blindspot as Chuck is so obsessed with a brother murder suicide ending he can't see the angelic spanner in the works. I adore how well this is being planned out and can't wait to see what happens next.

Balanced
We’ve talked about this a little before, but after talking with @7faerielights this morning, I just wanna bring this up again:
Team Free Will really is an all-out team, and if they are unbalanced, they fail.
This coincides with some discussion with @bluestar86 as well on this post.
We, as a Fandom, have been talking about the loud, empty space made by a lack of Cas in 15x04 and 15x04 and how we were shown in Sam’s visions that without him, things take a horrible turn.
I want to also just bring up again that it works in the reverse as well.
This is a tale of two different AU Cas figures, both of whom do not have Sam and Dean in their lives:
The first ‘AU’ Cas we saw was in Endverse. The question arose this morning on how that had a tragic ending to it, but all three members of TFW were there. What more, we saw a variation of that same ending in these Season 15 visions. Cas wasn’t present in the visions but he was there in Endverse.
So what gives? Why wasn’t he a catalyst in that and changed the outcome?
As mentioned in the post with @bluestar86, Dean and Sam act like kind of an anchor for the choices and Free Will that Cas is inclined to have. Without them, he keeps wandering around. He still has that inclination to make choices but nothing is tethering him to said choices. He is still a wonky Angel, but has no where to go with it.
In Endverse, there were no Angels to put him back in place anymore.
In ApocalypseAU, there were Angels to put him back in place.
So, let’s continue with Endverse --
Endverse still had him showing up, had him rescue Dean from Hell and had Cas attached to the brothers. What happened was that Dean and Sam split from each other, causing the first imbalance to the team.
Said imbalance hardened Dean to a shell of his former self, and Sam said yes to Lucifer. Now, Cas no longer had his anchors. So, he became despondent. He was broken in a different way, and thus was only just another person there.
It’s also worth noting, the term “Team Free Will” wasn’t coined at that time, coming later in 5x13 “The Song Remains the Same”.
So, there was no one to enact change.
Now, let’s head on over to ApocalypseAU where Cas was -- horrible like Jesus Christ they really broke him.
He was a torturer, completely unlike how we know him now, and honestly was a completely different character.
This Cas still had the inclination to swim against the current, but in this world, the Angels won and the Angels were unchecked in hauling Cas back to be brainwashed further into, quite frankly, insanity.
In this world, Sam and Dean did not exist at all. So, he didn’t have even a fraction of an anchor like he did in Endverse, he just didn’t have anyone in general. He had no one to rescue, no one to have him choose to rebel, no one to hang on to when Heaven was pulling him back.
In our world (Overworld I’ll call it), remember the crypt scene? Naomi had been working Cas for a while at that point, and he easily killed thousands of other Dean’s and she was very much getting to him, causing him to act. BUT. His anchor, the real one, brought him back down out of Heaven and thus Cas stopped what he was doing, and that Angelic pull was broken.
Right now, as of 15x05, their dynamic is still broken which will very easily lead us to a horrible, terrible ending with murder-suicide as played out in 15x05 with them werewolf bros (I loved the one in the sweater. I was sad.)
If the relationship with Cas isn’t mended, then they are all basically doomed. They do need each other, each one. Not in the unhealthy, toxic, co-dependency way but in a balanced, harmonious way.
Related: More stuff on 15x05 and how it was a call back to the first time Cas ripped up Chuck’s planned ending
Any thoughts to add? Please do!

the thing is, and i stared at a wall for the last 40 minutes dissociating about it, the thing is, that all of this is because we never got to properly say goodbye to cas. we knew spn was ending and in the finale we will have to say goodbye to sam and dean (no matter what actually happens in this ep) but we knew its the end and this is goodbye. we knew and we were prepared. Jack had his goodbye in 15x19 (i am putting aside the chuck won and jack was gone in 19 theories). but also we were ALL so sure cas was gonna be back in the finale one way or another and that's when we will say goodbye to him, and when i say we ALL i mean all, everyone, if someone, particularly if an anti, or a bibro tells you they knew he wasn't gonna be back they are LYING because they were gritting their teeth, scared that he will eventually be back (because. cas. always. comes. back) and the confession scene will be resolved somehow or at the very least addressed. lack of cas was such a surprise that no one, not a single person in the fandom was ready for and we just didn't prepare for it and we thought we were gonna be able to say goodbye to cas and then we just never got the chance. that's why it hurts, because we never got to say goodbye to him in a way that a normal show would allow us to. that's why no one here is normal and that's why we're stuck here because saying goodbye to cas is our unfinished business

I thought I finally found some solidarity with destiel fans in that we were all mad at Dean's death in the finale and believed he deserved better unlike the bibros who were trying to turn his death into a fairytale ending but NOW since Jensen has said he believes Dean had several years of happy life in between defeating Chuck and him dying I'm seeing how destiel fans are mad at the idea of that being true because he didn't find Cas during that time to reciprocate.
So much for destiel stans valuing Dean's worth and believing he deserved better. So much for thinking for a second destiel stans might care more about Dean than the bibros who only saw him as part of a ship.
The only solidarity Dean fans have are with other Dean fans. I don't think years past for Dean, the show should have shown it if that were true but I am happy Jensen's found peace with it and I like his headcanon.

I want Cas back, but there's no hope. the finale is just boring brothers Sam and Dean. it will, so there's no point in watching it.
Hi dear anon!
Okay come over here...
Tumblr media
Don't worry, believe me when I tell you, Cas is coming back... I named a lot of times so many clues that says he will come back. But, here I go again with the most important one: DEAN'S ARC NEEDS TO HAVE A CLOSURE.
And i will just focused on this, despite of the rest of plots that say CAS STORY HAS NOT FINSIHED (like the Empty plot, directly related to our angel).
But, i said a lot of times, Dean needs to verbalize his feelings for Cas to him. He needs that to close his arc. Because this whole mess of misscomunication, and then attempt of communication in Purgatory 2.0, the scenes with Dean swallowing his words in Purgatory when Cas cut him off, the whole spitting and gagging throughout season 15 with different foods, and now the last swallowing again when Castiel confessed his love for him, is telling us that Destiel scene is incomplete.
And now this:
Gif set credit @samwinchsters
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I want you to pay attention, Jack is trying to call Cas, and my take on this is he was successful. The second gif shows us that maybe he had just received an answer. Because everyone is awake in the Empty after Jack exploded. And this is not the first time Jack call Cas and reaches him.in the Empty. So what Cas could have answered here? According to Jack's sad face, setting like: Is okay, I wanted this.
It was very very important the quote Jack, now like the new Nougat God said: THE ANSWER IS IM EACH ONE OF US.
So, if Dean wants Castiel back, then the one responsible to bring him back has to be Dean, and no one else, because the answer of how to do that, is inside of him. And the answer is to release himself from those repressed feelings and finally confess his love for Castiel.
Because if Chuck or Jack would brought Cas back, it would be easy, and Dean wouldn't close his arc.
Jack didn't bring Cas back because he knew Cas was in peace with himself, but when he saw Dean's despair and longing, he just knew Dean has to answer that question for himself, because the only one who can bring Cas back again, is Dean. Cas will only come back if Dean goes to rescue him TO FINALLY VERBALIZE THOSE THREE WORDS.
"JACK BROUGHT YOU BACK BECAUSE WE NEEDED YOU BACK."
DO YOU KNOW HOW WRONG THIS SOUND? IMAGINE IF JACK BRINGS BACK CAS EASILY, HE WILL FOR SURE REPEAT THIS.
Dean needs to SAY...
I need you because I love you.
Because Cas still thinks his love is unrequited, the only way this Destiel arc close is Dean saying his words to Cas.
Do you see now why this wasn't the ending?
Do you understand why these scenes here (credit to @inacatastrophicmind ) ...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Were more important than these ones...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(gif credit @supernaturaldaily )
Because this ending WASN'T THE REAL ENDING.
Even Sam and Dean were OOC, and the song playing has second very Destiel meaning.
If I were a bibros I would feel very offended, because if you rewatch the scenes, it was a joke, they were exaggerated and i realized they were playing around, but not with us, Destiel Nation. With bibros.
I want you to understand this is not over. This was a fake and lame ending, to distract us from the real one written by the showrunner, Dabb. Coming next week, when Cas will be back from the Empty, with a hunter confessing his romantic feelings for him.
Have faith dear anon. Is pure logic.
Hugs ! Hope you feel better!

Hi im new to the spn fandom on tumbr and just wondered what a heller is ? I love your blog by the way x
Welcome! And a heller is...well. Okay lemme explain it like this
There's destiel shippers and then there's hellers. The destiel shippers just ship their ship mostly and leave us alone. Sure sometimes they comment on our ship but they're usually nice about it. That's what fandom is anyway. But then there's the hellers. They ship destiel too, but they're not so chill about it. They're the ones that bullied Jim off of Twitter, called Jensen homophobic, and sent death threats to Jared and his fans. Most of their tweets look a little something like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They abuse the tags:
Tumblr media
And they send anon hate to anyone who doesn't ship their ship or just even disagrees with it.
They're very entitled and they bully people. I've seen lots of people saying they feel bad or they've fallen back into their depression because of how many times they've been called "freak" by them. I myself have even been publicly humiliated by them. It doesn't bother me much but it's still over stepping on their behalf.
They can't really draw the line between fiction and reality. I, for one, could not give a shit what you ship. You can ship wincest, destiel, sastiel, samifer, hell you could even ship Sam and chuck for all I care, but that's not the case with them. They tend to bring these ships to reality and fight about them. Which one is "healthier" and which one everyone should ship. Which is not what fandom is. Everyone should be allowed to ship what ever the hell they want. Most of us know the difference between reality and fiction (I've talked about this on my blog already a lot)
They complain about the show a lot, they cried about the finale, they hate how Jensen doesn't ship destiel, so really, to sum it up, they're never happy with anything. No matter what the show does they're never satisfied. They make fake weddings on Twitter, which is completely fine, fandom is about having fun! But the problem is they yell at and bully anyone who had anything to say about it. I'm pretty sure they bullied Samantha and Chad too but I'm not too sure.
Hellers skip the first 3 seasons, they refuse to accept that the show is about the brothers, they tell wincesties and bibros to die and they just want everything to be about destiel.
Thats basically it, I've summed it up as nicely as I could. And I hope you have fun here! If you ship wincest or simply just do not like destiel, stay away from heller blogs, it's probably safer for you.

Now that SPN is over, what do you think of season 15 and the Dabb era in general?
The “Carry On” finale made season 15 better because it was wrapping up Dean’s evolution while reminding the audience of Sam’s core characteristics and preparing them for Sam’s post-Dean life. Had it not been the finale that gave the season it’s endgoals in mind, it would have merely been an above average season because Rob Benedict is not a strong enough actor for the role of the antagonist.  I  wished they got a new vessel for Chuck and recast him with a right actor.  Rob was originally hired to play a likeable shumpy character, not an antagonist worthy of the Winchesters.
The Dabb era started in season 12 by reintroducing Sam and Dean back into the human hunter community, thank goodness because I was starting to get tired of Sam and Dean being the only humans around.  I have no idea what Bibros have against Dabb because Sam and Dean were on the same page and rarely butted heads, which led to Sam upping his badass level until he’s confident enough to take on a leadership role, with Dean’s pride and blessing.
Most fans seem to have issues with Mary’s return.  I think Samatha Smith wasn’t the strongest actor to portray the new Mary, she had similar issues that Rob Benedict had, she was originally hired to play the saintly image of Mary, not the cold and distant “real” Mary.  But the demythfication writing for Mary and her arc is one of the best in the series.  My posts on Mary here and here.
Jack Kline was a good addition in season 13.  It’s easy to forget the Crappy Claire mini show, Mrs. Nepotism Ackles, and the Celestial Cock Fight because Jack Kline’s arc and Sam’s relationship with Jack and Lucifer made season 13 memorable.   Sam’s personal demon became the personal devil in season 11, 12, and 13.  The devil’s purpose on the show is to show God how weak humans are by leading them astray.  Sam constanty proved the devil wrong by being strong (standing up to him and saying ‘no’) and lead people in the right direction; first by leading hunters against the BMOL and then leading the AU refugees in an exodus.  When the devil leads humanity astray, Sam leads them back to the right path, sometimes literally.
Season 14 was among my favorites due to Sam’s slow burn spiraling fracturing breaking points i.e Prophet & Loss, Lebanon, and Moriah and a worthy antagonist, Nick.  Michael was a red herring antagonist, Nick started out sympathetic and has a connection wth Sam.  Later that connection became a rivalry that Sam didn’t know exist. The stories weren’t always executed elegantly but Sam had many arcs showing the various state of his psyche; going from leader of a crew only to lose them in a massacre, having a shared experience with Nick only to become target of Nick’s downfall, losing Jack led to a greater loss of his mother (so soon after sending his father to his inevitable death) which threatened to lead to Sam’s greatest loss - Dean’s death for the third time in a single season, which was fulfilled in season 15 finale but on the Winchesters’ terms.  Dean’s final death was bittersweet but also appropriate and right, delivered after Sam had installed good rulers in Heaven and Hell, assuring an afterlife worthy of the WInchesters.
In conclusion, I liked the Dabb era.  Ranked against Kripke, Gamble, and Carver he’s not exactly top tier but he delievered what was promised.

I feel really bad for Walker, especially if they are trying to pander to the wincest/bibros crowd. Isn't Jared supposed to be playing the older brother and isn't the younger brother gay? I mean yikes. I feel bad for people trying to join the show with that crowd coming over from SPN
The gay brother is politically conservative :’)
I really think that the audience for Walker will be people who are hanging out at home with their television on whatever is playing at the moment, people who tune in for curiosity because they remember the Chuck Norris memes, and that crowd.
It’s possible they make very high numbers because of the nostalgia for the original show at the beginning, but it will not be easy for them to keep the high numbers up, I think. Not with their inability to have meaningful things done.i ned

Becky’s Treasure Trove of SPN Merchandise
Part way through writing my episode review and I had to stop and go through everything in Becky’s house because there is so much stuff that I can’t stop looking everywhere.
Tumblr media
The fireplace is neatly set up with various Sam, Dean and Cas funkos and figures along with Impala’s, with a collection of plushies and more funkos on the shelf to the right.
Tumblr media
In her office she has the patchwork quilt and Paradise Motel model from 8x05 Blood Brothers along with more plushies and funko pops
Tumblr media
You can just make out the bunny TFW plushies on the shelf to the left.
So it really is a treasure trove of SPN merch! But I have an agenda and I found it very interesting how the crew set up the placement of this merchandise:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice how on the right of the fireplace the two Dean figurines are paired with two Cas’s...
Tumblr media
These two are cute and also paired on this shelf.
Tumblr media
They are set against a Crowley and a Sam on the other side, though for most of the framing, it was just the Cas and Dean that could be seen...
Tumblr media
Others have mentioned this shot. yes, we know that there was a Sam on the shelf as well, but it is interesting how the framing seems to set them apart...
It’s almost like Becky has some sort of preference in mind in how she places her characters... I wonder what on earth it could be.
