"Hm?"
The lengvi's brow furrowed with frustrated fascination as she pushed her glasses back up her long nose, made crooked in her youth from tussles with classmates, to get a better look at the glowing swirl of symbols around the steadily expanding doorframe.
"Spatial manipulation alone is exceedingly difficult magic on it's own, much less as a single mage without supports. But to twist matter without distorting the integrity of the material, and isolate the area of disturbance so finely as well, is... It's unheard of."
The lengvi's tone hid none of her amazement, save for the confusion that such technical speak could bring to any space outside a classroom... As the bewildered expression of the poor woman being questioned conveyed.
The lengvi's brow then unfurrowed as she cleared her throat. "How did you come by this magic, who is your master?"
"Oh, I just picked it up from work," she said cheerfully, and beckoned the lamia to slither through the magically widened doorway. Then, let free a soft exhale and dropped her arms as they passed through.
The stream of gleaming symbols from her hand gradually puttered out in turn; as they did the wood around the frame shrank, though did not move, and floor slid back into place without disturbing the dust on its threshold.
"Work?" The lengvi murmured, enraptured to the point of distraction again by the feat of control her comrade displayed. "I thought you were den mother of the pub over yonder by day?"
"Aye! I handle our patrons who're more gifted than can be handled comfortably by most." She rested her hands on her hips over her sword belt, and smiled proudly.
A long moment passed between the two women while the lengvi worked the implication of the taller woman's words out through decades of heavily abstracted magical study.
Then suddenly, it clicked.
"Wait, that's how you fucked that dragon?"

Speaking of love in Michael’s life and impact... I’m breaking everyone’s hearts all over again mentioning bits and pieces of the second “tragic” ending of Moth to Flame and how Michael reacted (or would react, as it’s up to you to decide which ending is canon, pre-Moth to Flame Part II) to losing Victoria forever. 😅💔
For the first time in years, tears spilled from Michael’s eyes as he wept. Sorrow and anger flowed through every drop as he clutched so hard onto the sides of the casket that his knuckles turned white and the tips of his fingers red.
He no longer knew if he was grieving or if the tears he had just shed were that of pure rage and frustration of everything that had occurred to him in the past decade, but having to bury his wife again hit a tipping point for Michael he knew he would never return back from.
Knowing Michael will never resemble the peace he had always been searching for throughout the chaos and turmoil in his life, the view of the lake before Michael is one he always shared with you and now remains to be almost his only pastime when he comes to think.

Anyway, uh, connections! This episode has ✨ spooky voices ✨ saying Vigilo Audio Operior, which is Latin for “I watch. I listen. I wait.” This is similar to the Magnus Institute’s motto (Audio Operior Vigilo), but also to the MAG 160 description, Vigilo Audio Supervenio.
Google translate says this means “I watch. I hear. I come,” however the wiki says it means “I watch. I hear. I come.” According to wikidictionary, Supervenio can mean “I overtake” or “I come on” as well as “I surpass,” “I exceed,” and “I excel”
So, uh, what are the creepy voices? Probably web or eye related. Since “I watch, I listen, I wait” is, yknow, spooky in an eye way. But, “I wait,” and having the tapes be web, and then the call back in MAG 160 when a lot of the Web’s plans (and Jonah Magnus’, the bastard’s) come together.
And also on a meta level, like, the joke that RQ is web aligned and the implication that the tapes made it to our world (bringing with it the fears) and the crew retrospective… I think it’s gotta be Web, doing the spooky voices and putting it in the description.
Does that mean the Web they/themmed jon? Diversity win, i guess.

This is weird but could you do some headcanons of a MC reader who steals adopts one of those living plushies of the smiling critters (the ones who took over dog day) and keeps them like a pet dog and keeps them for the rest of the chapter
(It can be any of the critters, but preferably a Bobby bearhug)

Yep, somehow you managed to tame one of the feral Smiling Critters you found within the playhouse.
Literally the only thing you did was throw some snacks at Bobby since she was 0.1 seconds away from eating your flesh....and she's followed you ever since like a pet.
She's advertised as the most lovable critter, and you wonder if part of that is why she's so friendly to you.
But you know she's really just hungry and would've ripped your face off if not for your quick reaction.
Still, Bobby stays with you even after fleeing from the other mini critters who took over Dogday's body, never leaving your side while venturing through the rest of Playcare.
You do stop to sew her eye back on properly and clean her heart necklace and fur, of course.
Poppy, Kissy, and even Ollie are confused as to how and why she's not aggressive towards you like the others are.
But hey, any ally you can get is good. No matter how bug or small.
She still has phrases she's programmed to repeat. Very generic stuff associated with her character like "I love you forever" and "I'm all yours".
But you wanna believe she genuinely means those things and wants to reassure you.
During the fight with Catnap, he tried taking Bobby away from you, seeing her as a "traitor" and creating hallucinations of her as a gigantic monster--but you're not deterred.
Once he's dead and gone, you take a moment to hug the little red bear tightly, relieved she was safe and free of his ruling..
Even after all these years, she still smells like roses.

Mortasheen: The Tabletop RPG slowly releasing as of right now
If you backed the Mortasheen kickstarter 3 years ago, check your emails, because I just put up version 0.1 of the first initial digital-only edition; it contains the entire gameplay system by Morgan Mullins, pages and pages of monster abilities, dozens of setting locations including NPC characters and even some non-monster (but still not normal) wildlife, plus over 100 monsters with playable stats.
If you aren't a kickstarter backer you'll have to wait until later this year for the general public release. First there will be a free update of this digital version adding several more monsters, one additional chapter of various other tweaks, then work can begin on the final public version for both digital and physical.
I spent about 15 years of my life waiting to be able to put this out. It outlasted my 20's and now outlasted my 30's. For 99% of that development I was left out of the loop on what was even happening with it while I hoped it would come out any year now to maybe possibly make me a little bit of money while being poor the entire time. I almost feel like it kind of took half my life away?
In the time this RPG has been in development, the entire "Adventure Time" franchise debuted as a Nickelodeon short, got picked up as a Cartoon Network series, redefined the animation industry, revealed several plot points coincidentally almost identical to many major reveals of the Mortasheen setting, ended, and has now returned as a spinoff.
I can't wait til I can show it to everybody else but for now it's for all those backers who waited two years longer than the time frame I expected.
