Transcend Game pt.2 basically tells us how mad Kaiba went in order to get to his final duel with the pharaoh, and I wanted to animate that!
One of my teachers upon telling her the idea, told me to emphasize his madness to the full, so..I tried..
I had to simplify everyone's designes cause I kept messing it up all the time because AAA details..and time...

For a golf episode, okay. For a filler, also okay. Not that much going on.
Let's get one thing out of the way first:
Episode title says caddy. They liked that pun, I guess. As the grammar website I checked explains it further, it's not considered a huge error.
CityTV has such a nerve to put their logo in there after all their scheduling changes and general lack of interest for this show (I have no beef with that interview man, I forgot his name, but his interview with Diesel and John Reardon before the season premiere was actually fun).
I absolutely had no idea that women's golf was so lucrative.
"All I heard is sandwich" Thank god for Sarah. I only like Sarah from now on. Not even Rex, he seems too into golf, although there are too many balls involved for a dog to stay indifferent.
Joe joined the golf club when Camilla was born? Didn't he, like, adopt her after he married her mother? Or is my recollection false?
Charlie had worked as a caddie. Well, certainly some backstory there. And of course he's like, the best of them at it even if he doesn't want to join the club.
Seriously, we can't take them anywhere. Especially Rex, whose nose doesn't take a single day off. Boom, one more day off ruined.
I tuned out in every single golf talk, which is unfortunate because it was mixed with the plot (still found the culprit as soon as they appeared on screen). It's just really hard to follow when I don't care about it at all. Since I like almost all sports, I consider those I don't like as non-sports. Mainly golf and formula car racing.
They cut the chase scene? What?
That scene where Charlie drives a golf cart and Rex runs alongside him does not deserve a cool music lmao
Charlie playing golf as he's interviewing a (at the time) person of interest. I can't decide if this is unprofessional or I just don't like golf.
Ah, please someone tell me how many shots they did for that uninterrupted shot of Charlie's short putt that went pretty close to the hole. I know that the guys actually golf in real life but this had to be close but also not go in the hole for Rex to grab it.
Amazon! How the hell can you put an ad about fast delivery in this show, when you consistently fail to deliver the actual show on time in your streaming service? Am I the only one seeing the irony here? Last season it was too early, this season too late.
Also, Jesse, don't you dare wear that. Charlie's orange jumpsuit was actually a better shade of orange than this one.
Okay, maybe there were a bunch of chase scenes in this episode so they felt they could lose one. Acceptable.
Poor Rex's head. I'd have liked more of Charlie's worry please, although it seems like we might get this in a future episode.
This might be the first time we see Rex's teeth as Charlie checks for god knows what. Come on, show, let Rex bare his teeth just once while growling at a bad guy!
*gasps* Skeletal remains! On a family show!
They shouldn't have spoiled Jesse's shirt in the end scene on their promotional pictures. Not that it's such a big thing, but they should actually stop uploading promotional pictures from the final scenes altogether, or post them after the show has aired.
I liked the teamwork in this one. I believe the golf episode had been brewing since S2, where they had to scrap the idea due to a heavy snowfall, which turned the golf field into a ski slope. There is no avoiding golf, apparently!
Promo: What the actual fuck. Charlie and Rex combined whump? Charlie thrown out of a moving truck? Rex missing? Charlie having temporary amnesia? Hospital? Is it my birthday? (Well, it's actually pretty close to my name day instead.) Please squeeze a scene in there with a worried Sarah, and I take back every single bad thing I said about this season (the show only, I don't take back anything about CityTV). Yes, even the whales.
Of course this would be the episode that they'd take a break on. Oh, well. After that terrible hiatus, I can stand to wait a few days. A day had passed already as I was looking for the episode (turns out that they knew what they were doing lol).

The Uncanniness of Episode 165, and What Could Have Been
Alright, let's cut right to the chase, because this is like, the third time I've had to re-type this entire post because Tumblr has this stupid bug where it deletes my entire post up until the first photo upload every time I hit CTRL+Z to undo something 😒 (I have zero clue why it does this.)
Episode 165 has always... bothered me. I admittedly forgot about it in recent months, as the ongoing degradation of LO S2.2 onwards continues to rot my brain, but after stumbling upon it again, I was reminded of just how strange this episode is.
From the start, nothing really feels amiss. It picks up right where 164 left off, revealing the aftermath of Hades post-pomegranate and his first formal meeting with Hecate.
But it's as soon as we jump out of that flashback and return to the present - Hades standing before Persephone, the pomegranate tree perched peacefully in the background, that things start to get weird, in a way that I still honestly can't put my finger on.
And the spiraling into uncanniness begins with these two panels.
There's this rule in creating webcomics and writing stories - don't show or say anything you aren't intending your audience to pick up on. And when these panels were first released? I can tell you, as someone who was FastPassing back then, these two sets of panels threw the fanbase into an absolute riot. The fairly unanimous opinion from the fanbase was that Persephone had stolen the fruit for herself.
And can you blame them? The way the tree is framed, and repeated, with the camera shifting its focus, lacking the pomegranate in the shot completely, immediately told readers that it was gone. Of course, it wasn't, as was later clarified through the S2 finale and through Rachel's own wording; I believe she later stated that the pomegranate just 'wouldn't have been visible from that angle', hence why it was missing, but again, this is visual storytelling, it doesn't matter if the pomegranate TECHNICALLY wouldn't be seen from that angle, if you're going to remove it from the shot, that means you're telling your audience it's gone. It just feels too intentional, at best I might assume that that was the plan at one point, only for it to somehow end up changed along the way.
And it doesn't help that that scene is IMMEDIATELY followed by Persephone playing 20 questions with Hades.
These questions are all very specific, to-the-point, and hypothetical, concerning the pomegranate specifically, what it's done and what it's capable of doing. She's asking these questions not just for curiosity's sake, but with an ulterior motive - the writing on the wall is clear, she fully intends to eat the pomegranate, but is testing the waters with gentle but hypothetical questioning so she can gauge whether or not it would get her what she wants. Hence why she asks the marriage question - would marriage be enough, or would I have to make the trade with Erebus?
And then, of course, just as she gets the information she needs, she playfully changes the subject.
Hades does not look comfortable here. Some may argue that he's just nervous to have his photo taken with the girl he's lusting after, but again, it seems fairly obvious what's going on here. Hades has just made himself vulnerable* to the girl of his dreams (*i.e. trauma dumped and love bombed on her but that's another topic for another essay) and is now being cornered and interrogated by her. I know it's LO Hades, but I'd like to think he isn't that stupid. The sudden topic change isn't just to get a cute photo of him, it's to throw him off the scent, to make her seem innocent despite all of that earlier questioning.
In hindsight, we know now that she didn't take the fruit. She never planned to overthrow Hades. And while she wants to take things slow and 'do all the things', she does genuinely want to be with him, without it feeling forced. But I can't help but still feel unnerved at the sight of him in that selfie, watching the gears in his head turn, wondering what Persephone's going to do with all this new information after prying it out of him like a rat scavenging for its next meal.
Which brings us to Persephone. We know now that her wrathful side is purely wrath, gifted to her by Eris. Of course, often times her red eyes are applied to any sort of non-default emotion, including lust, but these are also the same red eyes attributed to her trademark appearance as the Dread Queen, foreseen by the Fates.
Again, I need to make it clear, in visual storytelling, do not show or tell anything you don't want your audience to know or infer. Why else would they suddenly draw her red eyes here after asking about the one thing that would grant her that Dread Queen status?
With Episode 165 and its strange toning in mind, let's turn to Zeus.
Zeus wasn't always an antagonist to Persephone. Zeus once supported the idea of Hades getting with her-
-but eventually shifts his opinion, after finding out about the Act of Wrath and Demeter's role in covering it up, eventually coming to the conclusion that Persephone specifically is planning to overthrow Hades. Not him, Zeus, the King of the Gods, nor any other God, but Hades. This suspicion has nothing to do with what Persephone actually did, and it's played off as a misunderstanding during the trial to set the stage for the creation of Elysium, but with the implications of Episode 165 still fresh in my mind, what if Zeus had been right? What if those suspicions weren't entirely unfounded?
Episode 165 feels like a preview for a story we never got. One that quickly and quietly changed gears halfway through and decided to shy away from the concept of Persephone actually being conniving and deceitful. I would love to say that RS set up this foreshadowing in a way that was brilliant, if it had actually paid off. All of the pieces were there, the pomegranate was gone, the stage was set - but instead, we now have Persephone playing house with Hades, hardly even doing a damn thing with her new title.
There is no Dread Queen.

Ash's real father? You mean Kukui?
I drew this piece a while ago and forgot to upload it here. I'm having an abslute Pokemon Sun and Moon brainrot, started rewatching the series and also reading some fanfiction. Can't believe there was a time where I didn't want to even look at this series and now Sun and Moon is one of my favourite Pokemon seasons.
But the thing I love the most about this series is Ash's and Kukui's relationship. I remember when I really wanted the creators to finally show Ash's father, but after watching S&M, I honestly don't care about him. Because why would I care about him if the Kukui is right there? He's literally the perfect father figure for Ash. I love how similiar they are to each other, both hyping when it comes to Pokemon battles. Their final battle at the Pokemon League was so great to watch, because you could tell how much fun they were both having! And I really love the fact that Kukui thinks of Ash as his own son and Burnet literally calls him big brother to Lei.

okay. hi. you've reached the bottom. i have a confession! i have not been able to update the queue in like. a week
my commitment to uploading every pokémon in natdex order already fell off a little bit when the galar pokédex was out of order compared to the national pokédex and i was choosing to include regional forms in "natdex order" by using their placement in regional dexes. now that i've reached all the regional evolutions in the natdex, i've found that my previous methods for getting models and getting them to work are not necessarily panning out. this is, of course, for one specific pokémon: galarian farfetch'd. i believe this applies to the rest of the galarian forms that i have yet to upload, as well, as i can't seem to find models (that i know how to work with) anywhere on the internet. if you want to see the most recent state i was able to get galarian farfetch'd into, then here:
it's fucked up. you may have noticed that i also didn't post galarian corsola before cursola. that's partially because i forgot it existed, and partially because i didn't have its model so i didn't know it existed because of that
i don't really know what to do here. i haven't queued up a single pokémon in about a week, and even then, the pokémon at the end of the queue you'll notice are getting progressively more and more fucked up textures-wise just because of how difficult they're getting when i can't find the proper models and i have to throw something toegether in like an hour. which! this blog never used to take me an hour! it used to be a few minutes out of my morning, at most. now mornings are taking me upwards of two hours just to get these motherfuckers working—and now i've reached a point where i can't get them working at all
from my perspective, i have two options, neither of which i want to do. option one is to just post the pokémon that i have and can get working, skipping ones that i don't have or can't get working. option two is to just go on indefinite hiatus until i can get a hold of the models and get them working. i like neither of these options!
i suppose there's a secret third option, which is that i start using in-game screenshots like i almost did for phantump that one time, but those aren't the easiest to procure when i can't perfectly manipulate the model and the camera to get the angles that have become the style of this blog
i don't want to quit when i'm this close to the end (and especially when there's so many of you waiting for your favorite pokémon), but taking two hours out of my morning to get one pokémon working is becoming a chore i relent doing, and i've become unable to do it at all now that i can't get the models to render correctly
i don't have a solution to put at the bottom of the post here! i don't have a way to say "so because of this, i'll now be doing blahblahblah" because i don't have a blahblahblah that i can do. i don't know what the best course of action is, because i have never really encountered this kind of problem on the blog before. the hiatus i took back in 2020 was for completely unrelated reasons, and like 99.9% of you weren't even here for that. and sure, only like 20 folks read these asks, let alone down this far into them, but for those of you that don't, you'll just be missing out and confused. for those of you that do, i thank you for sticking around this long. this is not goodbye, and i don't even want it to be a temporary goodbye—but it is me saying that there are 18 pokémon left in the queue and i don't know how to add any more
the best solution is probably just to post the pokémon that i can and hope the models i can't get aren't anyone's favorites. how do we all feel about that? i could always try in-game screenshots, but that'd be such a big change in styling and visuals that i dunno if i wanna go through with it. i'm at an impasse here, and i've been avoiding even talking about it because technically most of the followers of this blog couldn't care less if there was a real individual behind it—they're just here for the silly pokémon images. but, y'know, hi! here i am, i'm a real individual running this blog, and it's not that easy anymore!

Alright, I can't help it - I promised I was going to move on from MAGFest, but it has positively infested my mind. Everyone's sets at Chipspace were absolutely incredible, and I believe I've raved enough about them for a lifetime with Mother, Father, TechnoMan alone. Yet there was something quite magical about eva twin's set in particular. She was not only playing her own rips - she was PERFORMING them.

With a bass in hand and a setlist of rips ready to go, eva twin's 20-minute set of hand-picked rips was one of the most transcendant experiences I've ever had with the SiIvaGunner channel. Maybe it was just a bunch of colliding factors exclusive to my own experience - the live-chat experience, the brand new pair of headphones with an emphasized bass, and the fact that I've only through this blog discovered just how rich of a track record eva twin has with chill, atmospheric yet feel-good rips such as Blessing the Dire, Dire Rains and Mii Favorite Things. Both of these were covered here on the blog before being featured on the Chipspace set, and eva twin was one of the first rippers that I was made aware of having read the blog to begin with, even way back in June and July. I can't help but feel a little touched to think that I may have, through this blog and the word I spread on here, influenced eva twin to chose those two rips in particular for her set. Be that the case or not, I feel obligated to return the favor by covering a third rip from this set - Sable's Stickerbush.
Out of all the rips from the set - at least, the ones I haven't covered yet - I think Sable's Stickerbush mainly just sticks out because I hadn't ever heard it. Sable is a game that sits firmly in my backlog of "it looks interesting I guess"-kinds of games, and with less than 10K views on its YouTube upload Sable's Stickerbush was bound to be a rip I forgot about quite quickly. Yet the absolute vibe captured through using what's perhaps the oldest yet most effective trick in the book - Stickerbush Symphony of Stickerbrush State of Mind (and so many more) fame. Yet paired with the instrumentation and hauntingly beautiful vocals of Sable's Glider theme, it somehow manages to play second fiddle in terms of melody in a way it typically really doesn't do in rips - despite never having heard it before, Glider by Japanese Breakfast captured my imagination right away upon hearing it.
I'll no longer get to have the experience of hearing Glider for the first time within the Sable game itself, yet I can't find it in me to be mad whatsoever when the experience I had listening to Sable's Stickerbush for the first time was just as magical. Even without eva twin's bass performance from Chipspace, the rip stands as an absolutely magical combination of two pitch-perfect sources, a true expression of love toward Sable and its small yet devoted fanbase. And, of course, nothing but another feather in eva twin's cap of excellent sound.

I can't believe I nearly forgot to share these. These were done by reigohoo on FurA as an ~experimental~ commission with non-classical (classical meaning human upper half and horse body) taur characters! I decided to offer Angelito and Theo since I figured they'd each offer the artist a fun challenge when drawing fur-taur type characters for the first time, especially with artistic freedom to interpret their designs freely. They turned out wonderfully!
