Thinking about:
Tokoyami being skittish and avoidant after the first few weeks of your relationship. Everything was amazing with him; he showers you in sweet compliments that leave you breathless, calls you sweet nicknames and always makes time for you. Now imagine your surprise when he starts totally avoiding you.
==================================
The bell rings for first period, and your feathery boyfriend is yet to be seen. Anxiety started to gnaw at your chest; he hadn’t responded to your get well soon messages, only leaving you on read. You couldn’t even visit him properly since he gruffly told you to leave him alone when you tapped on his door.
It was not like Tokoyami at all, as communication was incredibly important to him in a relationship. Your anxiety bubbled over as you gnawed on your lip. Was this his way of breaking up with you? He had blown you off with plans for the last weekend too, making this a repeated issue. You knew you would get upset thinking about this, so you continued to scrawl down the notes from Aizawa’s lesson.
You mentally resolved to visit Tokoyami after the school day is finished and see just what the problem is.
==================================
You gently tapped on Tokoyami’s door yet again, praying to whatever entity that he would let you in.
“I don’t wish to see anyone at the minute, please leave me alone,” you heard him grunt back lowly. He sounded pained and hurt, not to mention tired. You bit your lip in anxiety.
“Fumi? It’s me, my love. Are you alright? Please let me in, I’m so worried about you,” you pleaded him through the door. You heard a sigh.
“I’m sorry but not right now. I’m not well, and I do not wish to pass the illness on,” he continued, sounding more irritated by the second.
“I don’t care if you get me sick Fumi, I can take care of you and help you get better,” you compromised, hoping he takes the deal.
“Starlight, not now. This.. it’s a different kind of illness,-” Tokoyami was cut off by a series of coughs resonating deeply in his room.
“That’s it Fumikage, I’m coming in!” You announced, undeterred by his pleads and demands for you to stop. You gasp upon entering his room; black feathers were strewn across his bedroom in random directions and places. His lamps were lit, leaving the gothic bedroom in a ghostly light as you tried to find your boyfriend.
He was trembling in the middle of his bed, surrounded by a growing pile of feathers and trying to hide himself with his pillow.
“Fumi? Are you okay honey?” Your voice filtered through his room as you closed the door behind you.
“Why are you covering your face, love? Is something the matter?” Your worried voice drove a sigh out of Fumikage as he lowered his shield. You let out a slight gasp; he was moulting. His feathers looked sparse in some areas, some turned grey and some on their way to drop out his face. Even though his face was not one of a humans, you could almost see the bags under his eyes.
“Oh my god Fumi, what’s happened?!” You try not to let your voice get too alarmed; you didn’t want your boyfriend to think you were disgusted of him.
“I knew this would happen. It was foolish of me to think I could prevent it. It is a byproduct of my quirk: every few months I moult my feathers to make way for thicker and healthier ones, but as such it takes a toll on my body. I get hot flashes, and my feathers just drop out. I am usually plagued by insomnia, yet it worsens during this period of time. You must think it’s disgusting,” his voice quietens in embarrassment.
You let out a small “oh” upon his explanation, feeling stupid for your prior thoughts. You slowly made your way to his bed and sat next to him, rubbing slow circles to his shoulder.
“That’s not the case at all, my love! I had no idea that your quirk would cause this but it makes sense. I wish you would have told me about this. I’m here for you, I can help you face problems like these. It’s not a disgusting thing, it’s perfectly natural,” you comforted him, slowly grabbing his hand and gently rubbing in between the knuckle like you know he likes.
Tokoyami seemed shocked at your response. Any other person apart from Shoji usually made comments along the lines of “ew, I couldn’t cope with it,” or something. The politest would just give him a sympathetic smile that was tinged with disgust.
“A-are you quite sure starlight? This can be a troublesome task-” you interrupt him.
“Of course Fumi. Now, come here. I brought some supplies in case you were sick,” you rearrange yourself so that you were at the headrest of the bed and Fumikage curled up against you. You produced a bottle of his favourite flavoured water and held it to him as he shakily managed a few gulps. He let out a shaky and tired breath as he nestled himself against your chest.
Your hands found his silky feathers and Fumikage’s eyes burst open. It was foreign for him to feel someone so casually pet him. You worked in continuous strokes, gently setting aside any loose or broken feathers before petting him again.
Fumikage let out a contented chirp each time you found a particularly annoyed or irritated area. His natural bird-like instincts were screaming at him; his mate was grooming him!! Actually helping him maintain his appearance!! Making him feel better about his icky transformation!! It was a dream come true.
He nuzzled his beak closer to your neck and allowed his breaths to get deeper and slower, before totally falling limp against you.
And you know what? That was the best night’s sleep he had in 4 days.

P S Y C H (ch.3)
Alright so to clear anything up, anytime there are single quotation marks ('blah blah') with no obvious speaker, that is [Name]'s internal thoughts. I think i'll probably change the writing style in the future to make it more obvious but that's what i've got for now.
Previous // Next
[Name] had become extremely guarded at a young age. Dealing with bullies before he had developed his quirk and a mom who was an empath taught him bad habits. Obviously, being bullied can make you defensive against harmless teasing. Normally people can almost never tell if they’re being laughed at or laughed with and if you’re used to being laughed at, lashing out is the easiest way to kill the joke. When your mom can read your emotions you can’t exactly have privacy, and the easiest way to get around all of that is to share, share and overshare. By dumping the most useless details and confronting most of your negative feelings people think you’re being honest with them because you trust them. In reality you’re protecting yourself by never giving them a reason to pry. [Name] has mastered being an open and honest person, that no one knows anything about. The problem is, now he’s forgotten how to socialize. And the first day of school is rapidly approaching.
“God is testing me. I am not one of his strongest soldiers, push me too far and our next meeting will be in person” [Name] thought as he tried on his uniform to make sure everything fit nicely for school the next day. The uniform wasn’t bad but there was no way he was putting on a blazer every day. He’d wear it for the first day, appearances and all (and of course [Mo.Name] would want a picture) but henceforth blazers would be a special occasion thing.
Sighing, [Name] got ready for bed and turned out all of the lights before praying. It was a quick prayer, one done out of habit and not necessarily belief before scrolling on his phone to distract himself from the self doubt and anxieties about his first day.
“I was really gonna be too powerful with this quirk and this body so I was born with crippling insecurities and anxiety. Thanks G-man for humbling me”
The next morning was a fumbling of nerves for pretty much everyone involved. [Mo.Name] had gotten up early for work and made [Name] lunch for his first day even though he’d politely asked her not to worry too much about his first day. As an empath her emotions might carry over onto him and as someone who already HAS anxiety, he didn't need any extra.
“GOOD MORNING”
“Why are you always so cheerful in the morning? For someone who wakes up at like the crack of dawn you’d expect a little ‘don’t talk to me before my coffee’ behavior”
“Did you want me to be all grumpy as soon as you wake up?”
‘....”
“I thought so. Can’t you just say good morning mom”
“Oh mother, it is of the best news that you were able to wake me this morning. Your delightful smile I will never tire of”
“Smart ass”
“Better than a dumb one”
“True. Hurry and get dressed if you want to stop by the bakery before school. I might not be an asshole before coffee but YOU definitely are nicer to talk to with some sort of morning beverage”
“Fair”
[Name] dressed as quickly as he could and met his mom at the front door. He paused in the doorway and decided to be honest. He was terrified. He was starting a new school as a socially awkward kid who has some bad habits. He didn’t know if he’d step on people’s toes and ruin his chances of making friends. And there was the whole issue of the fact that he was more than likely behind all his classmates. He’d gotten his quirk much later than the average kid which meant he had less time to practice and master his gifts. Using telekinesis without getting a headache had just become an unconscious reflex. In his mind everyone else in 1-A could use their quirks as easily as breathing.
“I can feel you panicking from out here. Literally. Just get your stuff and let’s go.” When [Name] made it to the front door [Mo.Name] stopped him and placed her hands on his shoulders. Looking in his eyes she projected calmness through his skin using her quirk. Once [Name] had obviously returned from the reality in his head to the world of the living she removed her hand and spoke to him earnestly.
“Your grandmother used to say two things.” She began “‘When you’re blessed be a blessing’, and ‘God don’t like ugly’. Looking at you, I can tell you must truly be favored by God. He has blessed you with a great quirk and you’re doing His work by becoming a hero. I know you’ll be great. It might seem like a big shot school with superpowered hotties to you. But they’re awkward 15 year olds who blush when they see boobies. You’ll be fine”
“Yeah”
“Okay?”
“Okay.”
“What fresh hell is this” [Name] whispered to himself as he stared at the giant building. “Whoever designed this building is now my number one enemy. How am I supposed to find anything in this maze modeled after a letter in the ENGLISH alphabet. We’re fucking in Japan!”
[Name] had unfortunately not had a chance to down his matcha latte considering the long line at the bakery when his mom dropped him off before going to work. He GOT the matcha latte, but it was just freezing his hand off because he had to rush to the trains to be on time for his first day. In a stroke of luck the train was too crowded for him to comfortably move so he just had to hold it until he got to school where he got lost looking for class 1-A.
Whatever happened to being one of God's favorites?
When he finally reached 1-A he was stuck in the doorway behind All Might’s successor as the green haired boy panicked about a stuck up rule follower and the blond bombshell that was Katsuki Bakugou. [Name] managed to maneuver around Midoriya catching Bakugou’s eye before the blond looked away dismissing [Name]’s presence. [Name] was not offended. No, not at all. It wasn’t the first time he’d been underestimated. And it wouldn’t be the last. But everytime it did happen, it would play into [Name]’s favor.
[Name] found his way to his seat and decided that the chaos of new students arriving as well as Bakugou’s… abrasiveness would be the best opportunity to do some research on all of his classmates. Nothing too invasive but a quick scan of their surface thoughts so he could create a profile for each student. He got about halfway through the class when a gruffy man in a yellow sleeping bag hijacked his focus.
“If you came here to socialize, then get out”
‘I am terrified of you. Please continue’ [Name] thought
“This is the hero course”
‘There’s someone in there’ the class thought simultaneously
“It took eight seconds for you to quiet down. Time is a precious resource, you lot aren’t very resourceful are you?”
‘Our teacher???’ they all echoed
‘Then he’s a pro hero too…’ Midoriya thought out loud
‘I thought you would know…’ [Name] whispered to himself
“I’m your homeroom teacher. Shota Aizawa. Pleased to meet you”
‘Homeroom teacher???’
‘how is everyone thinking the same thing at the same time??’
“Quickly now. Change into your gym clothes and head out to the grounds”
‘The system here at UA is like no other. Today the homeroom teachers will conduct..’ Midoriya thought to himself, and consequently [Name] who was eavesdropping
“A test of quirks”

Falling Angel
Pro Hero! Reader x Shouta Aizawa
Word count: 1,347
Warnings: angst, jumping off a building,
A/N: i got this idea from the TikTok trend I’m not gonna lie. Play Can You Feel My Heart by Bring Me The Horizon
It's night, you thought you'd be over this by now, thought the mission was over. Gods above you were wrong. Glass shattered in your living room you realized you should've known better. Nonetheless you had to be quick, grabbing your gear and haphazardly throwing it on. You pressed your alert button for pros to make their way to you and got going. Running as fast as you could, out your apartment to the stairs, you were about to go down until you saw him, silver hair, hands, and all his villainy.
You let out your favorite swear and burst up the stairs instead. Focusing on keeping your pace and breath steady you had to get to the roof. What you would do after you had no clue. Praying to whomever could hear you was all you could do as you reached your destination. The rooftop door right in front of you grabbing the doorknob and twisting but it didn't budge. In desperation you took a couple steps back and pushed forward with your leg up at the door. With each kick you could see it budging and finally with one last kick it flew open. Fresh air whipping your hair around.
"Where are you going? No one is coming for you. I already took care of your little team," Hearing the shrill voice rising from below brought anxiety rising into your chest and pushed you back into action. Your lungs burned, screaming for you to stop but you made it to the end of the roof. Turning around trying to steady your breath, vision focused on the villain chasing after you and others following closely behind. You swore you could see the corners of his lips appear from behind his hand.
"There's nowhere left for you to go Y/N," a cruel chuckle made his smile more visible. Heart pounding in your chest you lifted yourself up on the edge. It was getting hard to breathe, hard to think. There was only one thing to be done to get away from the League of Villains. If it resulted in your death, so be it, as long as they never got their dirty hands on you again. You might be thinking your last thoughts, you started thinking of the last time you talked to HIM.
Such a stupid fight to have, you should've just accepted the academy's offer and stayed. Even pursuing your childhood dream you weren't happy, not without him. Now here you were, stuck in this mess that you and only you got yourself into. You thought of his face as you told him the offer to work alongside other pros in America. How it had dropped so at your excited declaration that you took the offer. Of course it was a big deal, you'd go and get beat up far away from him so he couldn't help you.
----
"You're leaving me?" His voice was almost too quiet to hear. Your heart shattered at those words.
"No we can sti-"
"You're going to a whole other country Y/N!" His voice was loud and cracked as he cried out your name. What could be done now? Your hand rose to cover your chin as it quivered. This doesn't have to end does it?
"You know this has been my dream since forever, Shouta," he looked away from you when your voice wavered.
"Of course. How could I forget?" Even through your tears you saw his hand rise first to his face then through his hair. "You can achieve your dream. But not with me."
"What about when I come back? I might not be gone for long," you tried to keep your voice steady. When he turned to look at you then, you brought a sleeve up to dry your face and hide your expression. This was already hard, why couldn't he just understand? Your voice wavered again as you let out, "I love you"
"Angel… I'll always love you. Please never forget that." You heard the pain and sincerity in his voice. As he made his way to you a sob escaped your lips and he reached out to hold your face.
----
You wouldn't ever forget that, couldn't forget that. Cause no matter what, you loved him as well but your stubbornness knew no ends did it. You stuck to your childhood dream and got nowhere.
"Baby boy I'm so sorry." You whimpered out. Shigaraki seemed to catch on as he brought his hand up to scratch his neck. You didn't care, all your thoughts went to your scarf clad ex. Wishing you could take it all back and be wrapped in his sleeping arms again. Tears pooled up in your eyes as you leaned back, letting gravity take control. Before your feet could slip off you pushed off of the building. In any other circumstances you'd push out your wings but your back was already in so much pain, so torn up that even as you tried you screamed out.
It was getting hard to breathe correctly, air violently whipped hair and loose pits of clothing against your falling form. Last thing seen before you closed your eyes was the villains looking at you from over the edge. Accepting your death, you braced for the impact of the ground when you hear a familiar voice yell out your name but you can’t move your head very easily. You tried to push your wings out again but the pain was still too unbearable. Air suffocated you and snuffed out any possibility of screaming. You could hear another name being called out but couldn't quite make out the syllables being used. Even so your heart skipped a beat, from being suffocated or from hope you couldn't tell.
Something hits into the side of you and changes your course of direction. Finally oxygen evenly enters your lung in a burning gasp. Arms braced you under your body and you look to the owner, seeing the very man you never thought you would see in this life again.
"Yeah yeah I got her. You guys can quit being annoying and loud," you heard hollering and whoo-ing quietly come from the earpiece and grumbling from Eraser as he roughly ripped the earpiece out. You giggle quietly emitting a tug of a smile at the corner of his lips. Aizawa gripped onto you tightly as he landed on the ground. He placed you down with such care that you could have cried right then, although tears already were trailing down your face. Reaching your hands out to him, you called his name in your shaky voice over and over again. He pulls you into his chest so you sobbed countless apologies and still call out his name on repeat. Meanwhile he comforted you by petting your head and using his other hand to rub you very sore back and softly shush you.
“It’s okay Angel. No matter what I’ll always be there to catch you if you fall,” his nickname for you soothes worries but you still shake with post-cry hiccups. You look behind Aizawa to see that Shigaraki and the other villains are gone from the roof with Present Mic on alert for them. You start to clench your hands roughly on to his arms repeating your worries about Shigaraki and his comment. Aizawa pulls you into his chest and rejects the comment and reassures you with his and the team's safety. "They're all okay and waiting to see if you've fallen safely."
“You gave us quite the scare there. I couldn’t keep up with Eraserhead,” a smile, although close-lipped, stretched across your face. On the other hand, Aizawa turned his head with a disdainful look on his face, aimed at the blond who smiled wide.
“Alright then, let’s take you to Recovery Girl. I need you in the skies again,” Aizawa slid his arms under your legs and behind your back before lifting you up. To help ease any strain you put your arms around his neck, maybe also to feel more of him and watch his back.

Still Good-Chapter 6
Some new decisions are made about class 1-A and the newest support hero's role on campus and spur of the moment decision put All Might in a rather comfortable position.
All Might / Reader - Slight Aizawa / Reader
The one were they almost kiss and I blue ball your heart for ANOTHER DAY! Maybe in chapter 6...
Tumblr media
"Grandmother said it's in the schools best intrest if she still stays the face of the nursing staff here at UA. It's not like I'm a secret or anything, I'm officially employed as a school nurse but her and Mr. Principle decided it was for the best if I stick to taking care of the first years for now. They will need the most help after all but I can't help but think it's something more...something they arn't telling me." Toshi twitched in his seat as he listened to his young friend chatter on about today's meeting. She offered to spend time with him in the teachers office while he finished up some paperwork and put together scripts for the passing new students. Forty in total seemed like it was asking a lot but All Might was thrilled to help out in any way he could. But that keen mind of her's was starting to dip into secrets even he wasn't ready to divulge just yet and that thought worried him. Just as much as lying by omission did. It would be far easier to just tell her everything but just ask risky.
She was leaning back far in one of the chairs and spinning in a slow lazy circle. Bored, but she insisted on being with him and he wasn't about to argue. A pen was caught between her nose and upper lip as she pouted. "I really wanted to see the third years in action though! Be on the front lines with their recovery after training would give me all sorts of incite on their quirks and development. I feel like I'm being assigned to put band aids on toddlers...."
"That's not necessarily the case. With Recovery Girl getting older it's far harder for her to keep up with the younger less experienced students. They are often the one's getting hurt and badly since they don't have a full handle of their quirk or it's full capabilities. This is the first year they really push themselves and their powers so they are bound to get hurt more than the older students. Besides lots of third years spend time at work study so they won't be around as much. It's just as much to help Recovery Girl as it is to get you and your powers where we need them most." Toshi thought those were wise enough words and by the embarrassed look on her face they worked. She was grinning with both hands pressed to her puffy cheeks trying her best not to wiggling in her chair. "If that's the case then I'll be working non-stop this year on some of the biggest cases! Not that I want them to be hurt....Mmm maybe that came out wrong....I want to be useful here! I don't want to sit around filing papers all day. I'm a pro hero after all, if I'm working what else am I good for!?"
Lots of things, Toshi found himself muttering deep under his breath as he turned back around to check another script. Just being in a room with him was more than enough. She could spend the rest of her days just sending good morning texts to him and he would be content but that little spit fire spirit and her desperate need to help in any way she could was one of the reasons he fell for her after all. The thought had him blushing and thankfully she was too busy watching the replaying of the exam to pay him any mind. "Ah! Midoriya! I didn't get a chance to see his review myself....I can see now how he managed to get himself in such bad shape. That poor boy...." Her voice was so soft when ever she spoke about a tender subject like this. Watching someone get hurt wasn't her favorite activity and he worried about what this next year was going to bring. His young successor barely had a grasp on One for All, there was no way he could escape more injury. Toshi glanced down at the small holo pad with his students name on it, a feeling of pride swelling in his chest. It would be fine, she was looking after him now too. The both of them would keep Midoriya safe and healthy no doubt. If only he could tell her....maybe just a mild hint of some kind..."There was something I wanted to-"
"Already over working yourself All Might? Figured they would have you do those acceptance videos...."
The both of them spun around at the sudden out burst.
"Aizawa!"
"Mr.Aizawa!"
He pale hand reached out and plop down right on her head the second he was within range. "Hey kid. Didn't think he would rope you into helping him so soon. Classes haven't even officially started yet." Kid. That was his nickname for her...something they shared together and Aizawa using it made his blood boil a bit forcing Toshi to turn back around in a mild huff.
"....I'm older than you...."
Her voice sounded annoyed. What happened to liking 'kid' as a nickname? Didn't it make her feel younger? Was it something she only liked to hear from him? His boney fingers crumpled some of the paperwork he had picked up as a rush of joy flooded his chest. She only let him do that! It shouldn't have been the biggest deal but that little venom in her tone as Aizawa's hand fell away from her head had him grinning from ear to ear. "What are you doing here anyway Mr.Aizawa? Classes don't start for another two weeks." The dark man shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets with a bit of a grumble. "Wanted to finish up some final paperwork, I was meeting Mic here so it was just logical to get it all done at once. Even if it is a bother. I'm guessing All Might really did rope you into helping him with his acceptance videos after all then?"
There was a pause in conversation, as if she was trying to think of the correct thing Aizawa wanted to hear. She always seemed to struggle in talking to him and Toshi had to admit he was a hard person to get along with. "Not really. Grandmother and Mr.Principal had a few things to go over with me anyway and I offered to keep Toshinori company while he worked. Not like I have anything better to do. Plus he offered to take me out for something to eat after all this hard work...even if he's the only one doing it..."
"Did he now....."
Toshi could feel that cold energy emanating from Aizawa as well as his eyes drilling holes into his poor back. That was gonna come back on him for sure. Spinning back around in his chair and trying his best not to sound defensive Toshi waved a hand at his fellow staff members. "It's no big deal really. We both take the same train home, and since she's so new to the area I'm trying to help her find places she enjoys close by. It's hard for foreigners after all." Frame it like a kind, friendly thing to do. Super normal. Not strange at all. He wasn’t pinning after a younger coworker and using this as a poor excuse to spend more time with her alone. Together. Like a day. Damn it that was creepy! Aizawa just gave a soft hum and kept his narrow eyes on his fellow teacher. Toshi prayed to any god at all that Aizawa would leave it at that and not ask to join them, he didn't need a repeat of the coffee shop and he was really looking forward to going to out eat with her alone...like a date. He was going on a date! Aizawa didn't need to be there.
Turning back to him she smiled happily waved her arms. "We are going to that ramen shop right? The one you talked about yesterday? All the photos you send me looked so good I can't wait to try them! Plus that really really cool ordering system makes me feel a lot better about trying to order something more complex. If I just need to circle what I want I don't need to pronounce anything and show off my horrible Japanese...." She was always so cute when she was semi self degrading. It always gave him a chance to compliment her and watch her get all warm and flustered. He would have done it here too if it wasn't for a certain looming shadow. "You should work on your Japanese more kid.” “H-hey!” “These kids won't go easy on you if you make formal mistakes you know." That earned him a little glare. "Older than you!" Aizawa shrugged and spun on his heels. "What ever. I need to meet up with Mic anyway. Don't over work the nurse All Might. If she's going to be working with first years she'll have her work cut out for her and she doesn't need you bothering her all the time."
All Might gave a mighty sigh as he watched the man lumber down the hallways and out of sight. He may have had a point, thought all her company and friendly assistance was given freely he still felt bad for taking up so much of her time. If either of them had work to do they often did so together in the teachers office. Taking twice as long as they would stop and just chat away until one of them noticed the time. Help with writing a hard word would suddenly turn into a full blown lesson which often left both of them chuckling and coming up with silly English phrases that made no sense in Japanese. She would ask him to tell her lesser known stories about his time in the states and he would want to hear about major areas and how they were doing since his last visit. A few times now they both got out far too late and had to share a taxi home. Sitting so close in the back seat of a car he could feel the warmth of her body against his. His long legs cramped up against the seat forcing him closer to her...Toshi sputtered a bit and cleared his throat trying to set his mind back to the work in front of him.
"I'm sorry....maybe Aizawa is right." His heart sank and Toshi found himself flipping around to try and correct her but the sad look on her face caught his voice in his chest which tightened with worry. "I must be taking up so much of your time....you're THE All Might and you keep going out of your way to try and help me with such silly things. It must be bothersome." He watched as she tucked some hair behind her ear and did everything she could not to look at him. Focused more on her hands that sat in her lap gripping lightly at her work skirt.
Not at all. She could never bother him! His hands moved before his mind had a chance to stop him and he found himself holding her's tightly in his own. "That couldn't be farther from the truth." They both stared, in a slightly stunned silence for a moment. Him for having been so bold as to reach for her, and her for having him act so suddenly. But she didn't pull away and he took that as his que to keep going. Be honest, even just a bit. "Ever since this all happened...my injury, coming to teach here at UA...no one has treated me the way you do. I'm not 'The All Might' to you...I'm Toshinori Yagi. I can talk to you in a way I haven't been able to talk to anyone in years. You don't look at me with sadness or pity. I never realized how much I needed that until I met you." His hands started to shake as if he was going to lose his nerve any second but her wide shining eyes pushing him to keep going. Hopeful at his confession. "I-I don't...this is strange. I've never found myself at a loss for words before, I guess that's the point...I don't need to be All Might around you and I'm learning how to be Toshinori Yagi all over again. It's not really something I was prepared to do coming to this school but I can't say I'm unhappy about it."
One of her hands slipped away from his and for a moment Toshi felt his heart drop in fear, but when it came to rest against his hollow cheek he feared it would start beating out of his chest. Carefully she forced his face up to meet her gaze. That damn smile returned and he couldn't help but smile back. They sat there for a few seconds and he swore they were inching closer, closer....closer until he could feel her breath against his face. If he did this it would change everything between them. Was he moving to fast? Did she want this too? Was this her accepting and returning his unsure feelings? He swallowed hard and tilted his head ever so slightly. He would do this here and now!
"A phone call is HERE! A phone call is HERE! A phone call is HERE!"
Both of them jumped apart so suddenly Toshi could feel the chair under him rock with the drastic movement. Glacing back at her he found she was at least ten different shades of red, steam visibly rising off her with the heat of her embarrassment as she tried to hid her cheeks under her palms. He wanted to toss his phone out the widow, take hold of her hands again and kiss her with all the passion he believed he would have just seconds ago. Instead he snatched his phone from his desk and glared daggers down at the ID. It was Young Miydoriya. Truth be told he hand't contacted the boy since after the exam. He wanted to see first hand how this new nurse would treat his student and he was not left wanting at her tender bedside manner if not stern words of wisdom. Toshi ran his fingers through his hair and let out a sigh. It would be better to just wait until he received his acceptance. Flashier that way. More All Might. Snapping the phone shut he found himself glued to the spot. What did he say now? How did one face someone they were so ready to kiss just seconds before? Her tiny, trembling voice broke though the otherwise quiet office and Toshi flinched at the tone of it.
"Um...it's getting kind of late..." It was. He hadn't noticed before but the sky was started to glow orange and cast long dark shadows through the widows. She wanted to leave. Run away from this awkward tension that was winding itself around the both of them. Not that he could blame her. Maybe this was all a mistake. Maybe it was a sudden delusion he forced upon himself and they were really feet apart and he looked like an idiot about to kiss thin air. Damn it he didn't even know HOW to kiss what was he thinking forcing something like that on a sweet, beautiful, talented YOUNG girl like her?!
"We should if we want to get there before they close right?" Toshi swung around in his seat starting wide eyed at her as she moved to start gathering her work together and collect her things. "Besides I'm starving! I didn't think we would be here so late so I didn't pack a heavy lunch. Stupid...we always end up staying later than we expect to. I was thinking of trying the more spicy bowl for my first time...do you have any flavors you like? Wonder if they would let me try more than one...." She was rambling, a sign she was nervous but she still wanted to go out to eat. Still wanted to be around him. This wasn't some kind of crazy mistake. Steeling her nerves he shot her his own nervous smile and stood up following her lead. "I hear the chicken is really good so I figured I would try that one this time around. Will be easier on my stomach after all." They both laughed before settling into a relaxed silence only meeting up again at the door as they turned off the lights to the office. He jumped a bit as he flet her fingers tug lightly at his yellow sleeve, flashing him a grin. "Come on, I'll treat you this time."
No. This wasn't a mistake. It was clumsy, awkward and nerve-wracking but this feeling that swelled in his chest and made him feel weightless, his heart clawing it's what up this throat, the nervous laughing and shy conversation, and that damn smile. This was right. No matter how long it took to get here and how many dark shadows lingered in the background this was one thing All Might would stumble and fight for. With a tight grip on his arm she tugged him forward with a cheery laugh, both of them settling back into their comfortable mood. There was no where Toshi wanted to be more than here in this very moment.

Yandere Boku no Hero Academia Masterlist
A separate masterlist for all the BNHA fans out there!
Main masterlist is here
Last updated: 09-08-2020
Shouto Todoroki
Eating His Heart Out {R}
Never once in his life had Shouto doubted your love. However, aside from the age gap and powers, there was another difference between you. Interests.
Aegis
All you wished for was a break from your growing paperwork, someone to pamper you and ease the pressure like a lover would. And that was what Shōto thought, too. But his way of showing it was… startling, to say the least.
Tokoyami Fumikage
Cut A Deal
You’ve prayed for something to happen, but what came next was completely outside your expectation. But were you really in the position to protest despite your vague wish?
Forlorn Hope {R}
There was no better nor kinder scenario, but you supposed it was the consequence of suicide. At least, it was better than marrying that damned crow. Because anything was better than being his partner, honestly. But alas, you didn’t get to choose your fate. You never did, anyway.
Yaoyorozu Momo
Pay No Mind
Because she was a hero, and it was her duty to save you from those nasty bastards that wouldn’t hesitate to take advantage of your naivety.
Fool’s Paradise {R}
It was kind of ironic, really, given her first name was Momo. But the flowers described your opinion of her better than words could ever do; fascinating personality. But you didn’t know that they had also given her tacit permission to kidnap you.
Adamantine {R}
Frankly, if you were to set aside her guile for a moment, she hadn’t done anything wrong to warrant such treatment from you. Despite the glum she expressed whenever you rejected her feelings, Yaoyorozu respected your boundaries. And you would’ve appreciated the sentiment too, had she didn’t lock you in her house.
Mirio Togata
Keep Safe
Mirio had a lot of fears, and one of them included your death.
In The Dark {R}
Out of all scathing words Mirio had ever heard in his entire life, this was what struck him the most. You – his long-time crush, his everlasting obsession, and his first and only love – didn’t even remember him, let alone his name. Just how focused you were with school until you had overlooked his existence?
A Long Way
But he wouldn’t be Mirio if he wasn’t optimistic. After a good, long cry, he always took a deep breath and prayed that everything would be better. And indeed, everything had gotten better ever since.
Toga Himiko
Accidentally On Purpose
Charming and attractive weren’t the words that you would use to describe yourself. You were as plain as your average self could be. But not for her.To her, you were the prettiest girl she had ever laid her eyes on. Sure, you’d made some mistakes here and there. But weren’t all humans have their faults?
Eyes on You
If there was one thing that you learned about Toga, was that she could be rather shameless sometimes. And today wasn’t an exception. She was staring at you. Again. But this time, she didn’t bother to look away.
Tamaki Amajiki
Under Thumb
Tamaki knew it was wrong. Dating you wouldn’t bring him any benefit than making him the next, perfect target for... whatever reasons you had. But against his better judgment, he did that anyway.
Kimi no Egao
But then, he realized that the reason why he grabbed the flowers was that he wanted to comfort you. He wanted to make you smile again. And yet, Tamaki wouldn’t lie that his intention was one hundred percent pure. Like most folks, there was a trace of selfishness hidden in there.
One Step Closer
Tamaki knew that it wasn’t good to delude himself into thinking that you were truly glad to meet him. But that was okay. At least, he was finally one step closer to you now, regardless of how far the destination seemed.
Aizawa Shouta
Yandere! Aizawa Headcanons {R}
Headcanons about how Aizawa reacts as a yandere.
Dashed Hopes
It was yearning for something. But what could it possibly want from her? Its small and lean body didn’t display any sign of abuse that would provoke suspicion. And yet, it stared into her eyes like it was begging her. Like she was its only hope or something.
Quagmire {R}
He wasn’t a villain. He was a hero. Someone who protected people, although his method of protection to you was stifling at best. But he only had the best interest in mind, right? You were still at his mercy, right?
Kouji Kouda
Give A Rest
His love story might not be as beautiful as those fairy tales nor it would end in similar happily ever after, and he might not be able to love his future wife the same way as he did to you, but Koda knew better than to take for granted your occasional presence. It wasn’t much, but at least he could color your otherwise dull life however little and transient the happiness he gave.
Nejire Hadou
Spitting Image
Tainted Fealty was your very first fiction. Ironically, this illogical story was what led you to meet your online friend and soon-to-be captor, Nejire Hadō. You totally could’ve prevented this from happening had you realized that your very first fan was, in fact, her. But how would you know that ‘Neji’ was the pro Hero whom you had long admired?
Hawks
Heart Of Stone {R}
Despite his reputation as the second Hero, you always thought Hawks was a bit shady. You knew he was kind and took his job seriously from time to time. However, there was something about him that induced you to keep your guard up. Now, you understood the reason why you felt wary of him.
Abscond {R}
Headcanons about Yandere! Garou and Yandere! Hawks react to their darling escaping.
Shinsou Hitoshi
Set Up
It wasn’t – and would never be – a good idea to solve the problem. But how could you care about him after he had practically used your cat against you? However, you would soon learn how much of a bad idea it was to resort to violence.
Repudiate {R}
Shinsō had always known that you didn’t really mean those things. A clear sign that you weren’t into him as much as he did to you. But he chose to turn a blind eye, instead. Because it was better to pretend than confronting reality, honestly.
Entrench {R}
He didn’t want to do this, but the root of the problem had always been your cat, anyway. Not his pettiness, not his egoism, and definitely not his insecurity, but it was him. Your beloved pet.
Atrabilious {R}
If the Gods were benign enough to grant your humble wish, if fate pity you enough to relieve some of your agonies, you could at least face his offspring and smile for the first time in years. But beggars can’t be choosers, can they? Especially when they were products of your so-called ‘love’.
Imperious {R}
He was the face of the school now, so there was nothing for you to be worried about. Then again, the world hadn’t been kind to you ever since your abrupt separation with Shinsō. It was as though you were doomed to be the bad end of the stick while he got the pleasant one.
Rejected {R}
Headcanons about how Yandere! Shinsou to a darling who keeps rejecting because she thinks it’s a joke.
What I Want To Hear
Funny how the police didn’t even think about suspecting him or even got suspicious with his sudden absence. Then again, it was proof of how sly he could be when he wasn’t trying to attract attention. And it was funny, in a somewhat ironic way, that he was doing this just to grab your attention.
Recrudescence
All Shinsou wanted to do tonight was to greet you, his dearest ex. However, the sudden existence of your boyfriend, showing the affectionate display that he used to do, reignited the feelings he’d tried to hide for so long. Luckily, a harmless revelation opened a door of opportunities for him.
Dabi
Take Over
Dabi never liked it when a human lived in his house. And now, these new inhabitants – these trespassers – had the guts to invite an exorcist. And yet, after seeing the exorcist, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. More like, he didn’t want to.
Kaminari Denki
Evince {R}
You always wondered how and why did he know you. It wasn’t as if you were a hero or police officer, really. So there was no reason for him to fall for you, right? But he chose you instead, for some unknown reason.
Midoriya Izuku
Cross His Heart {R}
As always, he just had to ruin the good things that happened to you for the sake of appeasing some petty emotion called ‘jealousy’. Of course, this wouldn’t happen if he wasn’t so paranoid. However, it was easier said than done.
Manna
How long has it been since he occupied this library? Izuku didn’t know, nor did he care much. All he cared about was the fact that he was able to simultaneously sit near you while pretending to study. Pretending, because why would he spend hours learning materials that he’d memorized when you literally sat right in front of him?
Chisaki Kai
Nostrum {R}
Kai never permitted you to binge eating, anyway, or doing things that he deemed as ‘detrimental’ to your health. And you understood his concern, you really did. Because you were his girlfriend, thus, you deserved his consideration. But you didn’t want it.
Rikidou Satou
Antinomy
Rikidō was a sweet guy, as sweet as his creations. On one hand, they satisfied your cravings, especially during certain months. And yet, on the other hand, you didn’t want him to think you’d given up and accepted his affection. But it was hard to resist him when he was just so… endearing.  And you hated it.
Kirishima Eijirou
Samaritan
Kirishima had been thinking about revealing his existence, but never once did he realize it. However, Kirishima knew that he needed to do it sooner or later. And he finally found the right opportunity to do it on one fateful night.
Au Revoir
Kirishima didn’t think he could love someone as much as he did to you. Was this what ‘moving on’ felt like? Though, he couldn’t help but wonder if he was just making excuses for his feelings. That he wasn’t actually moving on, more like, rebounding.
Bakugou Katsuki
Inexorable
It’d be great if you were a bit more open-minded, though. Relationships were unlikely to happen if both parties refused to compromise, and your rebellion made it harder for him to show you the true extent of his love.
Good Boyfriend
Everything he’d done and told to you was based on your best interest. At least, that was what you hoped. However, the reality was far more complicated and sinister. And unwittingly, you’d fallen to his so-called kindness.
Taishirou Toyomitsu
Palladium {R}
Toyomitsu had invited you to eat at his house. Sensing your hesitation, he reassured you that ‘no harm was done’. Just because you rejected him, didn’t mean you couldn’t be his friend, right?
Iida Tenya
I Swear on My Life
You were right; anyone would be angry if they saw someone hurting others. Which was why he needed to protect you, so nobody would be able to harm you anymore. Because as long he was still alive, he’d protect every inch of your being. After all, he’d sworn on his life.

Lunch with Bakugo was nicer than expected. We had a lot more in common than I thought. Besides both of us getting in trouble a lot and both getting caught by villains, we both liked old rock bands, MMA, and old action movies. No matter how nicely we hit it off, I couldn't bring myself to be honest with what happened to me. Not that Bakugo would ask me anyway. I was grateful for how understanding he was. We also shared notes on other heroes, he gave me work-out advice and I helped with some strategy studying. It felt like any gaps one of us had, the other would fill in perfectly. He was more of a strength and power type of person, as I was a speed and strategy type of person. Not to say he wasn't good at strategy, he was one of the smartest persons I've met even if he didn't show it. Bakugo admitted he had a tendency to let his emotions get the best of him. I admitted I did as well and it took some training to deal with it. But we also disagree in a lot, such as how good that sandwich place actually was. It wasn't that good. He was delusional.
"I can't believe you're eating ice-cream... It's still cold out!" Bakugo frowned.
"I've told you already like ten times! There's no such thing as the perfect time to eat sweet stuff,-"
"Except all the time... Yeah, yeah, I get it!" He finished for me with an eye-roll.
"If you're that worried, you can always warm me up..." I wiggled my eyebrows suggestively.
"I'll fucking blast you into fucking space."
"Don't make promises you can't keep, Blast Boy!"
Teasing Bakugo was turning into my most amusing hobby. It's not like he'd get flustered, that wouldn't suit his 'cool' demeanor. Instead he'd get annoyed, and that's way more entertaining. Back at the U.A, we were met with Aizawa already in class.
"I told you to keep her out of trouble, not kidnap her during lunch." Aizawa glared at us.
"Calm down, old man. It was just a sandwich!"
I prayed for Bakugo's soul. May he rest in peace and find solace in his next life. Blessed be, Blasty.
Luckily, Aizawa simply sighed pinching the bridge of his nose.
"I don't have time for this... Gear up, you're training with All Might today." I jumped in excitement. Training with the number one hero? That would be the best research opportunity I could ask for. "Except you, Ana. You're with me." All excitement washed away and Bakugo muffled a laugh as he walked away.
"What? Why?!" I walked over to the teacher in hopes of begging for mercy. "Aizawa, please... I promise I will never leave without telling you first ever again!" Adding a pout for good measure was useless against this man.
"You didn't do any of your tests and I have to submit them before the end of the day." I kept pouting, hoping I could at least get something out of it, and I did. With a grunt he caved in. "You can join the rest of the class after the tests."
I threw a punch in the air in victory and wasted no time running over to get my gear, shouting a quick thanks over my shoulder. I was excited about getting my suit on and jumping back into action! It'd been a few weeks since I'd been allowed to go all out and the tests would serve as a nice warm-up. And All Might? The cherry on top of this messed up situation I call life. I was glad the girls shared my enthusiasm for our first real training session. Once changed and walking back to class, we were all having fun commenting on our suits.
"Uraraka! We're twins!" She took a good look at me and laughed.
"Oh, my God! We're like the Pink and Blue Bodysuit Crew!" I gasped dramatically. That got all the girls laughing. I had to admit, she got us a pretty cool team name.
"Then Tsu and Mina can be the Green Dream Team! And Momo, Jiro, and Toru..." I paused for a moment. "The Sexy Squad?" This time I burst out laughing with them.
I'm glad I could fit in even if I got into the class later than the others. They were all very welcoming despite the fact they knew nothing about me or why I transferred. Walking into class, a ping of sadness hit me when I realized I had to leave them.
"Sit down. All Might will be here soon to take you to Ground Beta, where you'll get special training. I'll leave the explaining to him." He turned to me. "Let's get this over with, kiddo."
I sighed and waved the girls goodbye while I followed him out. Taking one last glance over my shoulder at Bakugo, he paid no attention to anyone around him while adjusting the biggest grenades I'd ever seen around his wrists. It amused me how much they suited him.
Once outside, Aizawa didn't waste any time pushing me to the limit. From jumping as high as possible to running as fast as possible to bench pressing the heaviest weights. By the end of the tests, All Might was a long-gone dream of mine.
"Come on, get up. I've seen you do more for less." Aizawa dragged me to my feet.
"For the last time... It wasn't for nothing! I got free pizza."
"And now you get to meet All Might. Sounds more worth it than pizza." I retorted with a look. That was as much as I was willing to move. "Come on, I'll take you there."
For some reason, it still surprised me that we had to drive to some facilities in this school. The amount of resources they have will always astonish me. Once there, Aizawa guided me to some kind of control room where the class was watching some team practice All Might plan out.
"All Might. This is Anahita Shuzenji, Recovery Girl's granddaughter." Aizawa introduced me and I couldn't help but beam at the giant in front of me.
"Ah! Young Shuzenji! Welcome to class 1-A!" Some explosions on-screen caught my attention and I shot the hero a questioning look. "Ah, yes! Today's exercise! The students were divided into teams, some will take the role of heroes and others the villains. The goal is to secure the payload the villains are keeping somewhere in the building with minimal casualties."
A bigger explosion echoed in the room along with a few gasps. Looking at the screen I recognized the sandy-hair student. Bakugo was ceaselessly attacking Midoriya, leaving no room for the boy to breathe. It was the most intense battle I'd ever seen. The look of pure rage in Bakugo's face told me this fight had gone out of hand a long while ago.
"All Might..." Aizawa's tone was low and cold. "Did you just put Katsuki Bakugo in a fight against Izuku Midoriya after I told you to not do exactly that?"
I never thought I'd see the number one hero cower under anyone's gaze, but I guess Aizawa had to be the one to do it.
"I- I might have forgotten about that..."
The giant cleared his throat, avoiding Aizawa's glare. Turning on the microphone, All Might issued Bakugo a warning in hopes to calm the fight down without calling it off. To no one's surprise, that only pushed Bakugo further off the edge. With what to us was a silent scream, the boy blasted off back into the fight. Everyone was commenting on his fighting style and how talented he was, but I couldn't focus on that. This wasn't fair. This isn't what heroes are supposed to do. Heroes are supposed to protect, not hurt. During lunch, Bakugo expressed how much he wanted to fight to the top and become the best hero ever, but also admitted he wanted to protect people, followed by some threats about if I ever told anyone about it. He made it sound like we shared the same desire to make the world a better place... But this wasn't it.
"Call it off..." I mumbled as I watched the boys run towards each other with one last cry of war. "Call it off! He's gonna hurt him!" I turned to Aizawa in a frenzy but it was too late. Midoriya screams and one last explosion echoes. Uraraka deals the last blow and All Might gives the sign.
The fight was over.
"The heroes win!" The hero yelled at the microphone as I bolted out of the room. Midoriya needed immediate medical support. There are only so many blasts one can take. Aizawa tried to stop me but there was no way I'd let this go on anymore.
Running into the building as fast as I could, I get in just in time to see Bakugo standing over Midoriya, trembling with rage.
"Bakugo! Stop!" I yelled out and he froze. I spared no attention to the idiot as I run past him to assist Midoriya. The boy had fainted from exhaustion after sustaining many burns and breaking his arm. He held out for as long as it took to win the challenge and could not fight a minute longer,  yet Bakugo showed no mercy. I placed his head on my lap and brush his hair off his bruised face. Rage built up in my chest as I stared at the poor boy on my lap.
"How much of a dickhead can you be?!" Bakugo wasn't expecting the bitterness in my tone. He glared back at me but I stopped him before he could say anything stupid. "You lied to me! You told me you'd make the world a better place! You liar!" I burst out, unable to contain the emotion in my voice. "You're supposed to be good. You're supposed to be a hero! You're worse than a bully, you're a villain!"
I took the crack in my voice as a sign to stop talking and start helping Midoriya. Bakugo didn't say anything back to me. He just stared at the ground, quiet as I healed his opponent. Aizawa and All Might arrived soon with a stretcher and I followed Aizawa as we took the boy back so my grandma could look after him.
I couldn't look at Bakugo. When we hanged out, we shared the same ideas on what it means to be a true hero, to protect everyone from villains. But now, he seemed more like a villain than a hero... Maybe that's why they put us together. Two kids at risk of becoming this worlds' worst nightmare. I couldn't blame them though. I just thought maybe Bakugo would call out to me and prove me wrong.
But he didn't.
Leaving the class behind, I insisted on taking Midoriya back with Aizawa. I was worried he might wake up in pain on the drive back. I wasn't as much of a healer as grandma was, but I could at least reduce his pain and lull him back to sleep. I played with Midoriya's hair in the hope it makes him feel better. I wished I could do more for him, but I wasn't strong enough yet.
"Feeling better?" Aizawa glanced over the mirror.
"I don't know, he's still unconscious."
"I was talking about you." My attention shifted towards the teacher, not understanding what he was getting at. "I heard what you told Bakugo... It was a bit too much, Ana."
"He lied. I thought he was different, but he's just another jackass." I looked back at the bruised boy on my lap.
"Watch your mouth, Ana." I scoffed at him, earning a glare. "You shouldn't judge people when you have no idea what's going on in their lives. Especially Bakugo. That short temper of his already got him into enough problems as it is."
"That doesn't justify his actions!" My voice came out louder than intended.
"Anahita." He called out softly. "Sometimes we need to be understanding in order to help others. He messed up, that doesn't mean he's hopeless. He just needs a little patience."
I knew he was right, Aizawa was always right. He always knew what to say when I mess up. And I knew I messed up. I said something I would hate to hear and I didn't even understand the situation. There's no excuse for his aggressive behavior but there's no reason for me to be an ass too. There's no way I'd forgive Bakugo for his behavior, even if I had to apologize for what I said. I stayed silent for a while, reflecting on my actions, much as I usually do after getting told off by Aizawa.
"I'm sorry..." I sighed. "I know you're right. I'm sorry I did it... And I'm sorry I raised my voice at you."
"Don't sweat it, kiddo. I got you." He smirked at me over the mirror, making me smile and remember why I look up to him so much.
Back in the main building, I left Midoriya with Aizawa. He instructed me to change, grab my stuff, and meet him back in his office. Sometimes I wish I'd never done anything stupid enough to call for this sweatshop labor... Or at least that I wouldn't have been caught. But I did. And now I have to help Aizawa with his stupid paperwork until grandma's ready to go home.
I was making my way back to class when I spot Bakugo stomping down the hall, a distraught Kirishima trying to catch up behind him. I knew I had to apologize sooner or later, and I'm too impulsive to wait around for the perfect timing, so I might as well get this over with. Running to catch up to him, I called out.
"Bakugo!" He stopped. "We need to talk."
"I don't wanna hear it!" He faced me, clearly still upset, and got closer glaring down at me as he yelled. "You can fuck right off with your stupid opinions! Sorry if I didn't meet your dumb fucking expectations. Too bad you're disappointed, I don't fucking care! So you can fuck right off." We stayed like that for a minute. Both glaring at each other infuriated in our own ways. I tried not to forget what Aizawa said about patience, but he didn't mention anything about being polite though.
"I came to apologize, dipshit!" That remark made Kirishima wince and Bakugo freeze. "I know I was an asshole and I wanted to apologize because I know I did something stupid. Now, my 'stupid opinions' and my 'dumb fucking expectations' used to be the same as yours, asshole! You said so at lunch. That is why I'm so pissed off!" Poking my finger on his chest I unintentionally get louder. "You know you fucked up! You know you did something stupid! And, even if I was indeed too harsh, you know you deserved to be called the fuck out! I'm sorry I hurt you but no way in fucking hell I'll ever be sorry for calling you out on being a fucking dick." Reaching into my pocket, I grabbed a handful of my grandma's signature candy and threw them in his face. "And here! Have some sweets! Maybe then you'll stop being so god damn salty."
I stomped away, leaving a really scared Kirishima mumbling something about Bakugo finally meeting his match. I didn't care. I did what I had to do. If he wants me to fuck off, then so be it, I'll fuck right off just like he wants. I paced around the changing room, still pissed at the way he spoke. I knew he had some anger issues, it was obvious, but you hit it off nicely during lunch.
I thought I'd made a friend, guess it was all bullshit.
I took one last deep breath proceeding to get changed, following Aizawa's orders. All I wanted was to forget about this and get back to work. Who cares about some stupid bully either way? It doesn't matter. It's not like I need anyone anyway. I'll get to the top on my own. People are just a distraction from my goals anyway. Nothing good comes from trusting someone anyway.
That's what I told myself for the rest of the day. Helping Aizawa, walking home, doing homework, eating dinner, laying in bed...
I don't need anyone.

Fusion AU - Aizuku : Origin
Bright red eyes met his own, a strikingly familiar scar curled under one of them. Freckles doted the man’s cheeks, short stubble only just visible across his jaw. The stranger gave him a smile that Shinso wouldn’t soon forget; it was caught between a snarl and a grin, equal parts comforting and heart-stopping-
He knew exactly who this was.
TL;DR:  during a villain attack, izuku accidentally fuses with aizawa. they kick ass.
Izuku peered into the store window, looking at a vintage All Might figurine with a great deal of longing.
1A had left the dorms to visit the mall 20 minutes away from the UA campus, chaperoned by no less than four teachers. He and some of the other students had been reticent to come; memories of every disastrous class trip still etched in their minds, but the enthusiasm of Kirishima, Mina and Uraraka had been infectious and soon all of them were tumbling onto the train, Aizawa grumbling as he trailed behind.
Turning reluctantly from the figure he knew he couldn’t afford, Izuku grinned as he saw his classmates enjoying themselves behind him. Uraraka and Mina were trying to get All Might to try on hats, jumping at the tried to reach the top of his head. His face twitched with repressed laughter. Shinso read over the menu of a crepe stand with a look of complete concentration.
Bakugo was being dragged into an arcade by Kirishima and Sero, Present Mic following happily after them, cheering on Kaminari as he rushed towards the DDR machine. Aizawa lent against a wall a little way away. He looked involved with his phone, but the fervent glances from under his scraggy hair told a different story. The others were scattered around, inside stores or simply window shopping, but everyone seemed to be having a good time.
A loud noise drew his attention and he felt his heart sink to the floor.
Villains.
Of course.
Dust clogged Izuku’s nose as the nearest wall crumbled. Quirk sparking across his body, he tried to access the situation. The arcade was damages, the front caved in and too unsteady to be pushed through without endangering the civilians inside. All Bakugo, Kaminari, Sero, Kirishima and Present Mic were all out of the picture then. Midnight couldn’t use her quirk without putting bystanders at risk, so her and All Might were quickly ushering people into buildings and out of the line of fire.
Six visible villains but from the cacophony of noise there may have been as many as ten he couldn’t see. A bright flash of light from a villain’s laser quirk drew his gaze. His heart plummeted as saw Aizawa in the line of fire, dry eyes blinded by the flash of light.
He leapt towards him.
---
If you had asked Shinso how today’s trip was going to go, this is probably what he would have said. 1A was cursed, he’d known as much when he’d transferred in. Still, trying to scream insults at villains over the top of crying children and shattering windows was something he really hadn’t wanted to do today.
He’d lost track of his classmates almost instantly, dust filling his eyes and panic filling his veins. Now, face to face with a villain that didn’t seem to have a mouth, he was really regretting not trying harder to find some back up.
“Hey asshole, is this your idea of a fun day out? Attacking kids?”
No response. He was so fucked.
He dropped into the fighting stance Aizawa had drilled into him, praying the 2 months of instruction would be enough to not get instantly creamed by the hulking mass of a person in front of him.
“Get down!” A voice he felt he should have known called out from somewhere behind him. Deciding not to question in, he dropped to the ground. A man with long, curly black and green hair leapt over him, red sparks crackling across his skin. The stranger flipped mid-air, kicking the villain in the back of the head with a satisfying thud. As they lay stunned on the ground, he quickly pinned them with a knee to the back, deftly binding their hands behind their back with a familiar scrap of cloth.
“Are you ok Shinso?” The fusion of his friend and teacher tilted his head, trying to scan for injuries.
“Never better.” He grinned.
“Right! Stay here, I’ll have this cleaned up in no time,” he said with another snarling grin, turning back towards the chaos. “Honestly, the nerve of them, interrupting what was meant to be a nice day to relax. Guess I’m going to have to teach them what happens when you mess with 1A.” Shinso bit back a snicker, it seemed even Aizawa couldn’t dilute Midoriya’s mumbling habit.
True to his word, the villains were dealt with impressively quickly, the combination of Erasure, super strength and their undying tenacity had them beaten right from the start. He seemed to be telling the villains off, scolding them like a disappointed parent. It was all Shinso could do not to cackle at the odd sight.
“I’m sorry but who might you be?” All Might asked, tentatively walking over to the ranting fusion.
“I’m-“ The fusion trailed off, looking confused. “Hm. That’s a good question”
Shinso really did laugh that time. “All Might it’s ok. Look, who do you think it is?” All Might peered at the man before recognised dawned across his face.
“Aizawa? Young Midoriya?” The fusion blushed brightly, looking awkward all of a sudden.
“I am? Very sorry about that, hang on I’ll just-“ and with a flash of light Aizawa and Midoriya separated, both looked inordinately embarrassed. It was almost funny; Aizawa, a man who tried to convince them he couldn’t care less about them was fond enough of even the “problem child” to fuse in the heat of the moment. It would have warmed Shinso’s heart if Aizawa didn’t look seconds away from strangling the still laughing teen with the tattered remains of his capture weapon.
“Oh my god Sensei I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to-“Aizawa sighed and ruffled his hair. Midoriya flinched but quickly recovered, looking hopefully at his teacher.
“We did good, kid. We did good.”

Power Outage ( Katsuki Bakugo x Reader )
Song
Tumblr media
Warning(s): Female Reader. Crush phase. Title: Power Outage Pairing: Katsuki Bakugou x Reader Fandom: My Hero Academia Word Count: 2,280
It was true that you were not the best with work ethic. You worked hard but you definitely were a procrastinator. It just seemed so easy to push things off until the end. Maybe it was because it hadn't come back and messed things up. You always got away with it and still passed your classes with high colors. Assignments were just easy for you to finish. Studying was a different thing, actually retaining the information was harder. With assignments, you could use the internet and other resources. Tests were harder.    Today was just one of those days where you had waited too late to do an assignment and were having to do it the night before. Aizawa had assigned a paper to do on a specific hero and their fighting tactics. Midoriya had been so excited for his paper and you would be lying if you didn't go to him for help on your own. He had millions of those notebooks, he obviously had one on the hero you were assigned. You actually had enjoyed the night you spent with him where he helped you learn about Hawks, your assigned hero. Bakugo, on the other hand, didn't enjoy that night. You could feel his red gaze watching the two of you for the entire night, imaginary steam coming off of him.    You had taken notes on your laptop with Midoriya that night and now were using those to write the paper. It wouldn't take long, only around an hour to complete. Everything was planned out and you just needed to put it into words. You had curled up in your beanbag chair in your room, fairy lights on. The entire ambiance was calming and you were ready for a calming night writing your paper. Fate seemed to have other plans for you as you were plunged into darkness as the power cut out to the dorm.    After you realized what had happened and the shock wore off, you glanced down at your laptop. Just great, you would have to write it in the dark...You groaned, thinking it couldn't get any worse until you saw the notification pop up at the bottom of the screen that said your laptop was at 15% and if it wasn't plugged in soon, it would end up going into sleep mode. Your heart leaped in your chest, panic setting in. You had to get this thing written and printed by the morning and it already was dark out. Who knew when the power would get up.    "Shit, shit..." You quickly glanced around the room as if you could find some secret outlet the still worked. There was nothing, it was going to go dead and you would have to deal with Aizawa yelling at you. Just as you were losing hope, an idea came to you. It was crazy but it might just work, but you had to do it fast before your laptop shut off. You hadn't saved your paper and you were already halfway done. Time to put that hero training to good use.    Being on the fourth floor wasn't always great. You had to deal with Mineta trying to sneak a peek into your room every time you opened your door as if there was some secret land in there that he didn't know of. But there were nice things as well, such as being near Midoriya. He was really your only friend on this floor, though you didn't mind the others. There had been many late nights where the two of your sat out in the hallway, speaking in the hushed voices of people who couldn't go to sleep.    Now, it seemed like the worst thing, oh how you wished you were on the second floor. You knew that your savior was in the lounge, you had seen him there earlier. You just had to hope he was still hanging out down there. If not, you would have to try to run back up two floors to see if he was in his room. You simply had to have faith in your gut that they would still be downstairs. You scooped up your laptop and the charger and sprinted out of your room.    You reached the steps in no time and quickly began to run down them, taking them two at a time. The only thoughts going through your head where you needed to be fast. You didn't think that you might fall down the steps, hurting yourself and ruining your laptop. That was all worth it to keep from getting that death stare from Aizawa. He could be so terrifying, especially when someone didn't do work. You had seen him scare even Kirishima with that glare. You would do whatever was needed to keep that from happening.    The situation you were in felt more like hero training that your personal off time. The challenge wasn't just going down steps two at a time, it was that you were left in the dark. There were no windows in the stairway, but even if there was, it wouldn't help as there was barely any moonlight outside. This was a test of your memory of how everything looked. Yet, you didn't even care as you ran, the only thing that you were worried about was your laptop. With one step, you accidentally overshot and ended up taking it three at a time. A sharp pain shot through your ankle as your foot landed in an awkward position. A hiss slipped past your lips as you continued down. It was just a simple sprain, you knew it would be gone by the morning but that didn't make it hurt any less now.    "Fuck!" You shouted, reaching the landing of the second floor. So close and yet so far! As you glanced down at your computer, you saw a new notification alerting you that it was on 5 percent. Shit! "No, no, no, no!"    "(Y/N), are you alright?" Even though you couldn't see the green splash of hair of the boy who walked out of the second floor onto the landing of the steps, you knew who it was. That voice had kept you company many times. You were close, you wouldn't say best friends as you mainly spoke on those sleepless nights, but there had been many of those nights. You both shared secrets and feelings, helping each other through whatever problems either of you were having. It was nice, but there was no time to talk.    "AH! No time!" Was all you shouted in his direction you continued down the steps. All you had to do was get down these steps and reach the couches. That thought continued to circle in your brain as you kept running. The pain in your ankle didn't matter, the voice of Midoriya or his footsteps following you didn't matter. You just prayed to whatever wanted to help that he was still in the lounge. Please, please, please.    You shot through the door that led to the stairs, finally on the first floor thought it felt like it had taken years. Now, you just had to make it to the lounge. Fear began to bubble within you as you wondered what you would do if he wasn't there? Could you hand write it and turn it in? Aizawa would be mad, but would he be less angry at you? Oh god, please just let him be there!    "Denki!" You yelled, seeing lights in the lounge room. It wasn't the normal lights but it was obvious they had flashlights or perhaps candles lighting up the room. Someone was in there, you could hear their voices. When you reached the entryway, your heart soared as you saw who was there. You were right, they must have stayed down here from earlier. You could yell in happiness but that still didn't mean you were free yet. You had to make sure you got to him in time or this entire thing would be wasted.    "Help Denki! PLEASE!" The group of boys looked over, consisting of Kirishima, Denki, and your crush Bakugo. Wide eyes stared at you as you literally slid on your knees, plopping your laptop in the blonde boy's lap. 2 percent, oh my god! Gods of grades, please spare you from this punishment. You promised to do your papers beforehand now, though it may have been a lie you were telling yourself to make you feel better. You meant it at the time, who knows how you would feel when the power was back on.    "What the fuck?!" Bakugo shouted, eyes shifting from you to the entry as if something was trying to attack you. His hands began to spark, ready for a fight when Midoriya walked in, eyes just as wide as the boys' already watching you. He must have decided to follow you after you gave him such a strange reaction. You didn't blame him, you would have done the same thing if you were in his shoes.    As soon as your knees hit the ground and you were level with Denki's lap, you reached up and grasped his hands in your own, making him touch the plug. For a moment he only stared at you, wide-eyed and confused. 1 percent! Just as you were about to yell at him again when he seemed to understand by what you meant with those pleading eyes. He sent a light stream of energy through his hands, just enough to power your computer without completely frying the system. It was a good thing that he could control it, or else you might need to get a new computer all together.    A loud sigh escaped you as you fell on your back, obviously relieved by what had just happened. You knew you still would need to finish your paper now but you decided you could take a second to just calm down from what just happened. The adrenal that had been coursing through your body was slowing down, letting you go down from that high and feel the pain that was in your ankle. You hadn't really felt it before but now it was throbbing. Still, you were successful.    "Um, what just happened?" Kirishima asked, eyes going from Midoriya (who looked as confused as he was) to your body laying on the floor.    "My laptop almost died and I still have to write that paper for Aizawa-sensei." Slowly you sat back up, still on the ground as you caught your breath. You didn't notice it before but you had pushed yourself harder than you ever had in a training session. 'Dear God, this paper better be worth it' you thought as you panted from where you sat.    "You were screaming and acting like a fucking villain was after you all because your laptop almost died?" The rough voice of Bakugo resounded, you didn't even need to look back to see the sharp eyes he was glaring in your direction, "I told you that you shouldn't wait until the last minute, idiot! I knew something like this was going to happen."    He grumbled but you knew he wasn't angry at you. You had learned how to tell when he was really angry about something and when you needed to tread lightly. This was just how he was. When you first met him, you thought he didn't like you but with some help from Kirishima, you learned that he was just being normal and actually didn't mind your presence. Learning how to speak Bakugo was a talent you quickly learned.    Slowly you stood up, wincing as you put pressure on your ankle. Damn, that really did hurt. Maybe it was worse than you thought, but there was nothing you could do about it now. You flopped down on the couch next to Denki, taking some time to rest. You jokingly thought that if it was All-Might you were writing this paper for, you might get extra credit for that sprint.    "What did you do?" Bakugo grumbled out.    "What?"    "Your ankle dumbass." He slowly stood up from the couch he was on and moved over to the one you were sharing with Denki. It was a tight squeeze but the three of you would fit, he would make sure of it. He grabbed your shoulders and made you turn to face him, grabbing your leg and bringing it up to rest on his lap. His eyes scanned it, trying to see how it was injured.    "Oh, I slipped on the steps when I was coming down here, it's fine though. I promise." You smiled, trying to act nonchalant with everything. It hurt, sure but you had a healing quirk so you deal with pain all the time. You felt like you needed to take the pain away from people so they wouldn't have to worry about it while they dealt with their injuries. Pain was simply a part of your life.    "Goddammit, you need to be more careful. You could have fucking broken your neck if you landed wrong! Even a paper isn't worth that...." With a sharp look over at Midoriya, he continued to speak, "Hey, asswipe! Go get her some ice, okay? Be fucking useful for once. And you, Denki, keep doing your shit to keep her laptop on. You definitely need to finish your paper after doing a goddamn triathlon to be able to do it."    The night was one filled with laughter as you finished writing your paper, surrounded by friends and the soft glow from the candles and your computer screen. Living in the dorm was hard at times, but these moments made it all worth it.

BnHA Chapter 219: Two Good Boys and One Unlucky Broker
Previously on BnHA: Katsuki and Shouto had their licenses for all of 30 minutes (literally) before deciding to put them to the test. But let’s backtrack a bit! It was a beautiful snowy day in December and class 1-A was chilling out and watching the news. We were introduced to a company called Detnerat, and their CEO who’s apparently a big fan of this dead terrorist guy named Destro who wrote a book about quirk supremacy and how people with superpowers need to rise up and liberate themselves and shit. It’s actually really interesting and I can see how these ideas would create a divide within hero society much like Stain’s ideology did. But anyway, so the CEO casually murdered his assistant for mocking these ideas, so that was deeply horrifying. And then he went to meet with some other villains (because yeah! he’s a villain, apparently!) who are apparently descendants of Destro (as is he, I presume), and they talked about how they’re gonna arrange a meetup with the League of Villains so that they can FUCK THEM UP. Plot twist! Anyways and then we cut to some hapless citizens who were being robbed by some banditos, and that’s when Katsuki and Shouto showed up as previously mentioned. So let’s see how this goes!
Today on BnHA: Katsuki and Shouto take on Soda Sam (who I really did think was Aizawa’s old buddy for much longer than I’m proud to admit though), who fights back with some pressurized water jets. All Might saves a stupid Instagram lady and Katsuki saves the both of them, and also recovers everyone’s stolen wallets, because he’s a fucking boy scout now that the provisional course is over. Meanwhile Shouto whips out the ol’ hot+cold power combo of sports festival fame and knocks the villain out. Afterwards the two of them are enthusiastically congratulated by a pro hero called Slidin’ Go (who’s secretly evil, as it turns out, because this is a very strange arc) and hair ruffled by All Might and it’s fucking great you guys. We then cut back to the Detnerat guys, who bring in Giran, a.k.a. the League of Villains’ black market broker who just so happens to have balls of fucking steel. Good thing too, because the DetCEO plans to use him to track down and lure out the League so he can take care of them. Lastly, we cut over to said League, whose members are currently in the process of having their asses handed to them by Gigantomachia and are really not looking too hot, oh dear.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my mostly-unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’m caught up with the manga now at chapter 225 -- I haven’t read 226 yet -- so any ETAs will reflect that.)
so it’s come to this. the Symbol of Peace, reduced to directing traffic
Tumblr media
listen kid, you’ll have time for autographs later all right? for now just DO AS THE MAN SAYS
meanwhile Shouto’s being a badass
Tumblr media
Bakugou may be out of his element in the cold (and we’ll see if this poses a problem for him--he’s only got one gauntlet on top of that), but this lil lukewarm lad is fine and dandy
loooooll
Tumblr media
you tell ‘em Shouto. that’s some nice property damage there son. I hope Katsuki tries to keep his own quirk contained, the last thing we need is you guys getting billed Mt. Lady style for destroying fucking main street here all of 25 minutes after getting those licenses laminated
(ETA: I guess he didn’t actually do any lasting damage though? hopefully nothing got flood damaged when he melted all of that afterwards.)
the title of the chapter is “go! sliding go!” which sounds like fun. sounds like more icy goodness
(ETA: why did they name this chapter after the weirdly unsettling and secretly evil THE FULLLLLL BULLPENNN hero, though?? my working theory is that it was Horikoshi’s way of ensuring we wouldn’t just immediately forget he existed so that we could be properly surprised when he returned a few chapters later.)
anyway so Aizawa’s cloudy friend is shaking off the ice, and now he’s chewing the boys out for fucking up his big purse-snatching operation
Tumblr media
all that for a handful of wallets?? seriously??
LMAO
Tumblr media
I don’t know if it’s that I’m becoming more like him, or if he’s just becoming more like me. but either way Katsuki you gotta get out of my head there kiddo, I’m starting to worry here
by the way is it just me or is he actually higher up than he was just a few seconds ago. are you actually climbing this thing. drunk on adrenaline or what
anyway so Kumo, who may or may not actually be him but we’re just assuming for now, is explaining that he controls carbonated water and he lives for thrills. his words. not mine
Tumblr media
okay first of all, no you don’t. fucking no one in this series has more resolve than that lil monkey slowly inching his way up towards that traffic light there
and second, you spent a whole goddamn month planning a purse heist. where the fuck did you get these airs you’re putting on dude
wow you guys
Tumblr media
I feel like we should be placing bets not on whether Baku and Todo will win, but on how long it’ll actually take them. I’m thinking not very fucking long
(ETA: this whole thing is wrapped up within ten pages. I could have literally have been present on the scene, said to myself “my what a lovely snowy day, I think I’ll go buy myself some hot chocolate,” ducked into the Starbucks on the corner, and it would have all been over by the time I stepped back out. “you missed it!!” shouts the excited ‘it’s All Might’ kid from page one. “there was ice and explosions and this stupid lady almost got All Might crushed with a pole!”)
MY DUDES WHAT IS THIS??
Tumblr media
SIX IN ONE GO. THIS HIGH SCHOOLER IS THE FUTURE NUMBER ONE HERO I’LL HAVE YOU SUCKERS KNOW
AHHAHAHAHAHA
Tumblr media
I’M LOVING IT. I’M LOVING THIS. FUCK ‘EM UPPPPP KATSUKI
Tumblr media
WHERE’S THAT RESOLVE OF YOURS NOWWWWW
holy shit. it occurs to me that this is only the third time in the series we’ve actually seen him fight real villains. and the second time was at Kamino, and he was pretty much just on the defensive there and trying to keep them all at a distance, so it’s debatable whether or not that really counts. so basically this is the first time since USJ that he’s gotten to just let loose against a bunch of mooks. and I’ve only just realized how much I wanted this omg
Tumblr media
apparently he wanted it too lol. also I’m surprised and extremely impressed that he can control his trajectory that well with only one arm. gives me hope that Shouto’ll be going airborne like his pop any day now
anyway so Kumo? is fighting back though
Tumblr media
watch out Katsuki he’s got seltzer and he’s not afraid to use it
okay but damn though
Tumblr media
is this fucking seltzer water slicing through this metal lamp post??
I just took a brief break from reading this chapter to go look up “water saw” videos on YouTube to try and get an idea of what exactly we may be dealing with there. and well, I found this. so uh. depends on what kind of firepower that thing on his arm is packing I guess. but he might be more trouble than I anticipated
meanwhile!
Tumblr media
ALL MIGHT LET HER GO IT’S NATURAL SELECTION
FUCK
Tumblr media
IF THIS STUPID LADY GETS ALL MIGHT KILLED IN FRONT OF THESE TWO BOYS WHO WERE SO GUNG-HO ABOUT FINALLY GETTING THEIR LICENSES, SHE BETTER PRAY THE GATES OF HELL CAN PROTECT HER BECAUSE I’M GONNA GET ME SOME FUCKING BOLT CUTTERS AND FOLLOW HER DOWN THERE MARK MY WORDS
OH THANK GOD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh my goddddd
first of all, whew. and second of all I’m so glad Horikoshi let him have that moment, rather than Shouto. just in case there were any lingering haters out there thinking his heart still wasn’t in the right place and that the only reason he was all TEAM RESCUE, BITCHES in the previous arc was because he wanted to win
and I mean, he did, obviously. but IT CAN BE TWO THINGS, and now we have a nice little moment here with him rescuing his dad (whose body moved before he could think, AS USUAL) and this stupid lady who put her Instagram above her own fucking life
meanwhile
Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay Shouto you have my permission to kick his ass
Tumblr media
yeah go ahead and fuck him up
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
Tumblr media
PETITION TO PUT SHOUTO IN “GUESS I’VE GOT NO CHOICE” SITUATIONS MORE OFTEN
Tumblr media
wow not!Kumo, he is literally the worst possible opponent you could have had huh. sucks to be you
lol Katsuki’s mad that Shouto got to be a badass
Tumblr media
they’re getting along so well now. Shouto completely knows how to handle him, he’s like a Kirishima 2.0. he just completely ignores the fact that Katsuki is shrieking insults, and responds as though the questions were phrased normally
and Katsuki actually answers him despite everything. I know it’s crazy, but this is seriously progress
now Dad is running over to make sure they’re okay
Tumblr media
“oh, All Might. didn’t see you there. we were just out here being heroic heroes. [stretches casually; yawns] all in a day’s work”
Tumblr media
at least he didn’t reference his kidnapping! Kacchan’s protesting but really that’s the best he could have hoped for
so the dude’s asking if they did all of this and uh, yeah. who do think they are, amateurs? I’ll have you know they have provisional licenses, sir
Tumblr media
did this motherfucker just pull 13 fucking wallets out of fucking hammerspace to hand over. Link?? is that you??
holy shit. is that why your pants were always so baggy?? WERE YOU JUST BEING PREPARED THIS WHOLE TIME
so not only did Katsuki not destroy so much as an inch of public property (aside from the pole which was already destroyed), he even had the forethought to rescue everyone’s wallets and hand them over to the authorities like the good law-abiding citizen he is
where the fuck is Gang Orca, I need to send that man a fucking fruit bouquet or something
oh my
Tumblr media
new favorite panel alert
so this guy, whose name is apparently Sliding Go, says he’ll take care of the rest. okay. thanks man
meanwhile definitely!not!Kumo!mybad!sometimesI’mwrong’s little jet nozzle gauntlets are... exploding??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Detnerat? possibly??
Tumblr media
good eye there Sherlock
so I wonder if they got them from Detnerat or from that black market guy the League’s associated with... Giran? I think is his name??
oh shit!!!
Tumblr media
new new favorite panel alert
love how Shouto seems shocked at the unexpected gesture of fatherly affection (which hurts my heart. hey All Might you got room for a third son there), whereas Bakugou is just accepting it and probably even knew it was coming and is just trying to keep his cool and trying to calculate how long he can stand there basking in All Might’s pride before it starts to look like he’s actually enjoying it
sdflkjasldkj
Tumblr media
SWEETHEART USE YOUR WORDS
Shoutooooooooo. ;_; that little smile is killing me, I’m melting. once the initial surprise wore off he was so happy. look at him shyly fumbling with his tie oh my baby I love you so much
Tumblr media
oh to be a fly on the wall of that taxi cab. watching the two of them sit in the backseat as far away from each other as possible and looking out the window and being so pleased with themselves after all their hard work finally paid off. and meanwhile All Might in the front seat next to the driver, peeking at them in the rearview mirror and smiling softly
also fly!me would definitely try to sneak a peek at Katsuki’s fucking hero license because HORIKOSHI COME THE FUCK ON ALREADY WHY IS IT ALWAYS SECRET AFTER FUCKING SECRET
and I guess that’s that! a very satisfying fight that lasted all of 10 pages but had several cool moves, an opponent with a cool quirk, and several character development moments! that’s how it’s done! god this series has been fucking killing it lately I swear. I hope I’m not jinxing it but this is some good shit. the artwork and pacing are great, I’m liking the new plot so far... just, keep it up, Horikoshi, please
(ETA: for real though he is crushing it)
so now we’re cutting back to the ol’ villain corporate office in Gotham City or wherever
ah, so it was Detnerat!
Tumblr media
well I can’t say this is a huge surprise. I imagine the villain market was too tempting to pass up
!!!
Tumblr media
I swear to god this had better be more entertaining than the last League of Villains team-up
so now this dude with the shiniest, most luxurious hair I’ve ever seen is explaining that he worked fast because DetCEO told him “do so at once” and his words are the words of Destro
damn so there’s a pretty clear hierarchy here huh
OH SHIT
Tumblr media
THAT’S FUCKING GIRAN. THAT’S THE DUDE. WHAT THE FUCK DID THEY DO TO HIM?? FIRST A MURDER IN THE PREVIOUS CHAPTER AND NOW THE LEAGUE OF VILLAINS’ FAVORITE BROKER IS GETTING FUCKING TORTURED BY CORPORATE THUGS, WHAT THE FUCK. ARE WE IN FOR ANOTHER HARDCORE ARC
(ETA: indeed we are, but this one is so much better though.)
Tumblr media
careful, he’s sensitive and clearly not afraid to kill a bitch for less than that, Giran
!!
Tumblr media
“the old man”?? is he talking about DetCEO’s father? or his? surely he’s not talking about AFO?
so now President Why So Serious is asking him how much he wants
and Giran is all “I happen to be picky about who I do business with, and since you all just kidnapped and beat the shit out of me, I’m inclined to say ‘no’ here”
(ETA: Giran is a stand up guy and it cost him a fucking hand. well that’s the risk you run when you work in the criminal underworld I guess.)
holy shit Giran
Tumblr media
RIP Giran 2015-2019
but damn though, I gotta hand it to the guy, he’s got a bigger pair than I ever expected
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
okay so I’m just gonna post the whole page and break it down
Tumblr media
GIRAN IS FUCKED. THIS GUY IS A MANIAC AND HE’S LEGIT GONNA TORTURE THE INFO OUT OF HIM HOLY SHIT
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, AGAIN
GIGANTOMACHIA IS FUCKING INSANE
AND HOW DID HE GET SO BIG
AND IS COMPRESS FUCKING DEAD. AND WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY BEST VILLAIN GIRL TOGA OMG
SPINNER IF THERE WAS EVER A TIME TO REVEAL YOUR QUIRK AND HAVE IT TURN OUT TO BE REALLY BADASS IT’S NOW BUDDY
DABI AREN’T YOU GLAD YOU WERE OUT PLANNING NOUMU SHIT WITH HAWKS AND NOT DEALING WITH THIS UTTER SHITSHOW
IS IT JUST ME OR DOES TOMURA LOOK A LITTLE BUFFER THAN BEFORE? YOU BEEN LIFTING BRO
HOW AND WHY DID THEY GET TO THESE CLIFFS IN THE MIDDLE OF FUCKING NOWHERE
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, GIGANTO YOU’D BETTER WATCH IT, BECAUSE TOMURA MORE THAN LIKELY IS TRYING TO THINK OF A WAY TO BEAT YOU WITHOUT KILLING YOU, BUT IF HE DOES DECIDE HE WANTS TO KILL YOU, YOU’LL BE PRETTY HARD-PRESSED TO STOP HIM DUDE
oh my god. this is three awesome chapters in a row now. BnHA is killing it, seriously

“Where the fuck it’s my bra?”
“God, I need to smoke now!”
“Do you have any painkillers? I can’t deal with these cramps.”
It was quite fun to observe the antics of your companions through the reflection of your illuminated mirror, you had already seen this before and these moments always happened when the girls were clearly stressed out of not having enough time to take care of themselves before hitting the stage. A fond smile spread your unfinished lips, you wanted to take a few seconds to be able to snicker at them, women trotting around half naked with high heels and since the dressing rooms were a bit cramped, there are probabilities someone will bump with another person.
With a slight sigh, you returned to the task of painting your lips with this deep carmine, which made your skin stand out beautifully. It’s to be expected that anxiety and nerves ate away your stomach. Millions of times you've done your acting on stage, the confidence you felt every time the audience burst into applause, pride bubbled at the expertise you had every time you spin with the metal tube.
And no matter how many times you try to focus on those feelings, there will always be a little voice full of malice whispering at your side, that you are not good enough for this place.
But that can be easily solved.
You got up from your seat for another girl to use it since you had finished with your look for tonight. Always straps on your legs with something on top that could be see-through, like the black long skirt you had. This time you added something adorable, a pair of stockings attached to the straps because it’s a pain in the ass always rolling them up and as a final touch for the top, a black bralette with embroidered floral lace in the areas of the breasts.
At first, you thought it was too much black, but in the end, you loved it with the little shines the skirt had, besides when you were going to hit the stage there’ll be lights on you.
And you couldn’t avoid small spin you did with your ankle boot high, it's not your fault that you felt pretty. Why do most people think that being an erotic dancer will give you a bad reputation? It actually gave you a few perks.
“Venus, girl! Stop ogling your ass and come outside with us!” A woman with a bunny outfit address you.
‘Well, duty calls.’ You thought, huffing amused by the judging glare from the other female but it switched to a playful glare as she flung an arm around your shoulders, dragging to the loud madness of music and lots of alcohol.
Yeah, being an erotic dancer might have a few cons but you were able to deal with them with a positive attitude.
                                                              ◃☆▹
‘Why me?’
It's like the sixth time he was lamenting in his mind, embarrassment giving a nice shade of red on his face while anxiety gnaws at his stomach, well, part of the organs that he still had. His fellow teachers were persistent this week, surprising him with his guard down and there were sometimes times when his response was blood coming out of his mouth. And there was no way to escape since he was cornered between them, Nemuri and Hizashi were chatting between them. Thrilled that at last, their plan had finally succeeded.  Have forced the number one hero of all Japan to have a little bit of fun. At first, it wasn’t easy to have a specific date, since the three heroes had busy schedules but at the end, they were able to find the perfect day where the three heroes had no patrols, no papers to grade or classes to prepare for their students.
Although the patrols didn’t apply to Toshinori, with the small disadvantage that he can only sustain his other form for a short time.
Of all the places, Toshinori never thought or imagined he would be forming in a line to enter a Strip club. He’d assumed the duo would drag him to a club to “relax”, he’d even imagined that Hizashi would drag him to the dance floor or Nemuri would try to convince him to drink a bit, which he’d warned them before that he wasn’t in a position to drink.
Cerulean hues look up to see the sign of the building, ‘CHERRY POP’ with a pink neon light that illuminated the dark streets and civilians who also formed a line, the said fruit replacing the O and anyone would figure it out the innuendo behind the sign. With just thinking about it the heat in his cheek increased. Nerves tightened his throat as he was guided by Nemuri and Hizashi, it was their turn to enter and Toshinori was already praying that this would end soon.
Don’t get him wrong, a part of him was actually happy that at least his colleagues involved him in their activities, it made him feel less old but there were some comments that gnawed his mind when Midnight invited along with an excited Mic, even the duo had thought about inviting their old friend with deep eye bags but Aizawa had rejected the invitation with a death glare.
‘You need to get out of that apartment, All might-san! It’s not healthy for you.’
‘YEAH! We get it that you are number one hero but even you deserve a break!’
He cannot take breaks! Toshinori devoted himself that he would do everything in his power to be the symbol of peace for the world. It doesn’t matter if he reaches the limit of his quirk, if he has a way to help in any kind of way, he would do it. And that has caused him so many sacrifices, his organs were hanging by a thread if he wasn’t careful with his food, he depended on pills and you better believe this tall lanky man has some self-doubt issues about himself.
Toshinori was welcomed by the soft pink and purple lights, it was large but with many people occupying the tables and dancers attending to customers, it felt a bit crowded. And immediately his eyes stuck to the ground, perplexed to the type of clothing the women were wearing but what was he expecting? This was a stripper club after all!
“All-Might san!” Midnight had to stand on her tiptoes and raise her voice a bit, due to the blasting music. “Can you get the drinks? Yamada and I’ve to find a good spot, okay?”
He appreciated his friends but Toshinori was sure they’ll be the cause of his death. Before he could protest, Nemuri walked away, chasing after a Hizashi who was being cornered by a pair of twins wearing student outfits. The bar wasn’t difficult to locate, it took most of the place with a bar that emitted a purple light. Toshinori notices it was a bit empty, some people at the end of the bar drinking or talking to one of the girls.
With hurried steps he went to the bar, avoiding physical contact with anyone or contact visual, keeping his eyes on the bar and trying not glanced at the revealing clothes from the woman. If his memory didn’t fail him, usually Hizashi would drink beer and Nemuri would like tequila and as for him? Water can be an option, or perhaps he could use the advice from Midnight.
With a polite smile, he asked the bartender for drinks and watched the dark-skinned man use his hair to take the bottles and glasses, which Toshinori noticed were actually tentacles like an octopus, pale in lilac tones. The blonde waited, crossing his arms over the bar and sighed to calm those nerves, hoping this adventure would end soon.
He’d mentioned before the bar was half empty because most of the people were busy enjoying themselves and the women were taking the drinks to the tables, what a weird services Toshinori thought but his attention was drawn to this figure sitting on top of the table bar, slouching over while drinking.
It was another dancer but they didn’t seem to participate like the other women, Toshinori crossed the idea of them being a customer by their choices of clothing. He returned his attention when the bartender returned with the drinks, Toshinori still hasn’t asked something for himself so he wondered if this place would have juice?
A rattle noise distracted him, Toshinori observed as one of the locks (tentacles?) from the man stretched out just to give the girl a small object and the blond recognized him.  The blonde man was well aware of possible drugs being taken here, and probably this place has a permit but Toshinori wasn’t interested in that, he didn’t want to be intrusive and didn’t want to cause a scene but his hero conscience shouted at him to stop them, to avoid a tragedy about someone who died due to an overdose.
Meddling when you don’t need to is the essence of a hero.
It only took him two strides to be at their side and land one of his bony hands on top of theirs, stopping them before they can open the bottle.
“Please, don’t do it.”
                                                      ◃☆▹
By "come outside with us" it actually meant: sit on the bar and observed how everyone was working, but at least you got a tip for doing a lap dance to a group of college students, you enjoyed how the shy boy was a wrecking laughter by your performance. Clearly obvious it was his first time visiting the cherry pop. You loved this kind of reactions, pride swelled your chest to see that you did a good job of bringing them joy in their night.
The drink you were holding was a combination made from Lulu, something to get you in the mood, vodka with some sprite. Simple but you already felt the heat in your body rise a little but not enough to get dizzy. Slumping your shoulders as you heaved a sigh, you already felt this night was going to be long but you soothed your impatience with the fact that you only had to wait thirty minutes to start with your act.
The rattling noise by your ear brought your attention and without looking you took the small bottle from Lulu's slimy tentacle, you were grateful the barman kept your candy hidden, there were many times you had a little craving but you avoid the food, vomiting while performing is something you don’t wish to experience. Putting your drink away so you can have your hands free, why did you put your skittles in a medicine bottle? You always promise to bring a more suitable container but you always forget it.
With the drink affecting your temperature, it also affected your reflexes because you would’ve flinched by the intrusive hand that invaded your sight but you didn’t. You blinked twice owlishly, your eyes followed the long arm until they connected to these sunken eyes with cerulean irises.
He was tall and you didn’t want to exaggerate but you were sitting at the bar, and it was high, this man wasn’t tilting his head up to look at you, his head was slightly leaning down to look at you!
That’s how tall he is.
You knew his hair was blond despite the lack of light and was rebellious, it reminded you like the mane of a lion. And his sharp features, they were accentuated by the bangs on the sides of his face. You've met millions of people with different appearances but him? He was the first one to leave you with a gaping mouth but now you were wondering why he stopped you from eating your sweets.
Maybe he wanted too? Your eyebrows pinched with confusion by the choice of his words, what does he mean “don’t do it”?
And Toshinori noticed it, the confusion filling your features and your eyes shifted between his hands and face.
Oh right, he has to explain why he stopped you.
“Please don’t do this yourself.” Toshinori began, removing his right hand. “You think have no way to escape but there is one and I don’t think to damage your body own is the answer.”  Toshinori hoped his words would have got an effect on you, to make you reflect on your actions and he was ready for any reaction you’ll throw him. Anger or mockery were the first two he was expecting but now it was his turn to blink perplexed.
You began to laugh.
He wasn’t sure if you were laughing at him or at the situation but the way your cheeks redden, the way you were trying to muffle your giggles with the back of your hand.
It made his insides twitch.
Your laughter faded but you still had a smile on your lips, you weren’t really laughing at him but about this man's assumption, he thought you were ingesting drugs and it was cute that someone took the trouble to worry. It’s true in this club there are several drug addicts, some of your companions are. You can drink until you suffer a massive hangover the next day but to take something that can make you see flying pineapples is a big no-no.
“Oh no, no!  These are not drugs.” You assure as you opened the bottle and pop a green one in your mouth. “It’s just candy, I get hungry in the job so I’ll always keep something to bite on.”
You could see relief washing over his features and also ashamed reddening his cheeks. “Ah, I’m glad. I’m sorry for, well touching you, it wasn’t my intention to startle you like that. I just wanted to, well help you.”
“Don’t sweat it,” You munch a blue one until you had an idea. “Would you like one? It’s from the red bag.”
“Eh?”
You gave the bottle a slight shake, emphasizing your offer. You just wanted to be nice, even though you were a bit selfish when it came to candy. Toshinori stared at your outstretched hand for a few seconds until he shook his head, with a friendly smile on his sharp cheeks he answered.
“Thank you but I’m afraid I’ve to decline.”
They weren’t dirty if he was thinking about it, but you didn’t insist, understand that not everyone would accept sweets from a stranger and less than an exotic dancer. It’s clear this man has never been in a strip club and you thought he was a gentleman, the way he blushed and how he apologized because he only touched you without your permission.
You weren’t sure if this man was acting or he’s truly a gentleman.
Working in this type of business has taught you a thing or two, actually, the other dancers had to teach because in your first months working in the cherry pop you were unbearably naïve. With the corner of your eye, you noticed the drinks, who the bartender was keeping guard. You assumed he was with some friends and he had to ask for them.
Conjuring a lovely smile, you thought it would be a great idea to play with him, to kill some time. Also, you wanted to see if really is a gentleman or just someone who’s pretending to be one.
“Are you with your friends?”
Your question caught him off guard, for a moment the blond thought you were going to go after that but you didn’t. And Toshinori wished you did, apparently, he forgot how to speak with another human being.
“I-I yes, I'm with some colleagues,” Toshinori replied while looking at the spot he got separate from Midnight. “They’re supposed to get a seat well uhm, for this.”
“Mhm, that’s good to hear.” You acknowledge as you leaned forward liking how the tall man was leaning backward. “I hope you and your friends like the show, it’s about to start again.”
Toshinori tilted his head a bit as he cocked a thin eyebrow. “There’s going to be a show?”
“Uh-hu!  In this club we throw something different each week, tonight we’re going to throw some Lip sync and, and- what the heck,” Your eyebrows pinched in confusion, you had to stretch your neck to observe a dancer who was making strange gestures, and towards you. Comprehension showed in your features since that weird dancer was actually your friend Mamacita, who was still making you wild gestures and they must mean ‘honey, it’s time to go!’
“I really, really must be going, it’s time to get ready for the show.” Taking your cold drink from the bar and carefully you chug it down, you don’t want to ruin your make up.
“Right, of course, you’ve work to do.” Toshinori nodded but it sounded so awkward. “Oh, let me help you.” He extended a bony hand for you and you gladly took it, shinning a grateful smile for his help you step down from the colorful bar when your shoes touched the ground you shook the imaginary dust of your skirt but you only did it with only one hand since the other was occupied, being held by the tall man.
You didn’t know his name and you didn’t want to know, it is for sure you would never see HIM again. You huffed amused again by his attitude, apologizing to you again while he let go of you.
You wave it off with a shrugged off your shoulders.
“I’m off. I hope you enjoy the show, see you later⁓” You sashay away, swaying your hips just a bit, knowing well the adorable and awkward man was watching your behind. And Toshinori scolds himself for letting your hips create some filthy thoughts, with an annoyed huff he paid the drinks and walked away with them. It wasn’t difficult to locate a wild Yamada who chatted heartily with other dancers just like Nemuri, who was clearly seducing some dancers.
“Ah, Yagi-san! For a moment we thought you bailed on us!” Nemuri exclaimed as she scooted, patting the red cushion beside her, gesturing for the blonde to sit.
“Yeah, we’d to fight some punks for this spot!” Yamada added, taking the jar and giving a sip to the golden liquid. Toshinori’s face paled, looking between the two heroes.
“Wait, please don’t tell me you actually fight?”
Nemuri gasped after she gulped a tequila shot, faking indignation. “You offend mesir, I would never!”
“We only talked and rudely, they left after Nemuri threaten them. Nothing special.” Hisashi added. “
Toshinori sighed, they definitely going to be their death.
“Ah, c’mon Yagi-san! But guess what? These lovely ladies told us there’s going to be a show! Some type of competition?”
One of the dancers dressed as high schooler giggled at the forgetful expression of Yamada, so she explains. “That’s right, that’s right! Every girl needs to throw a little dance to the audience with their most wild movements and at the end, we see who wins!”
Hizashi and Nemuri were interesting about who was going to be in this little show and the “high schooler” cheerfully began to name them.  Mamacita, Divine, Coco, there were so many creative names the blonde wondered which one would be yours, not the real one of course because he assumed it was important for all the dancers to maintain their privacy. The excited shrieks of Yamada and Nemuri took him out of his mind, apparently, they were going to start with the show and surely they would have a good look since their table was a bit close to the stage.
“Good evening lady and gentleman!” the DJ started announcing. “I hope everyone is having a good time in our cherry pop because is about to get spicy up in here!”
The crowd broke into applause and whistles, ready to enjoy what the dancers were going to demonstrate tonight. Toshinori breathed a chuckle, amused by the exaggerated applause of the other two heroes and he was also curious about this show.
“Alright, alright! Just a little briefing for any new here: our girls have to show off their best routines and the one with the most applause is the winner!” Now without further a due let me present our first girl!
To be judged by applause? It seemed fair, although Toshinori had some doubts he kept them to himself. What if two dancers have an amazing routine? Would they tie?
“Three times champion! Our heartbreaker, and cold goddess, Venus!”
Toshinori was startled by how the crowd broke into applause, the men jumped from their chairs and whistled like wolves when the aforementioned dancer came out from the curtain and paraded on the stage, showing off her attire. He threw kisses to the several men who tried to get their attention, sending them seductive smiles that are surely false, but a girl must always keep her act real.
Toshinori blinked owlishly
It was you, your name was Venus.
Well, your professional name in this case.
“Aight, settle down boys! Don’t make me call security.” The DJ warned, you also have to remember that it’s a place full of drunken men and surely some will try to cross the line with one of the girls. “Let’s get ready to fuck shit up, Venus!”
The music coming from the speakers vibrated in his body, he didn’t recognize the song but had a sensual rhythm, which you moved your hips to the rhythm of the song.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE SO CAUTIOUS
IF YOU PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH
COUNTING UP THE STACKS ON THE COUNTER
A FUCKING DISEASE!
You were not singing that is a fact, there were dancers in the place who could dance and sing at the same time. Either it was talent or surely it was a quirk related. You did your own routines in your home, playing the songs you liked and dancing in front of your huge mirror. Because there were too many times there were fights between girls, discussing movements that were copied.
Everyone was delighted with the movements of your hands, arms, and legs. Men threw bills on the stage or sometimes you took a one to put on your belts.
You were lip-synching Toshinori pointed because obviously that was not your voice and in the way, you exaggerated your lips a bit with the lyrics. And that made him be on the edge of his seat, making eye contact with the crowd was crucial because it shows you were confident in what are you doing.
DON’T ASK ME TO BE RIGHTEOUS
IF YOU PRACTICE WHAT YOU TEACH
COUNTING ALL YOUR BLESSINGS
THE SECONDS YOU’RE DOWN ON YOUR KNEES
You took off your skirt, throwing it behind you, eager to swing yourself with the metal tube.
SO WHY
WHY DON’T WE GET A LITTLE HIGH, HIGH?
Not so sweaty hands wrapped the cold metal and the memory of your muscles could lift you up, swinging with the rhythm of the song. That familiar red taste almost shot out of his mouth, men and women again broke into applause to your daring skills, Toshinori covered his mouth but his cerulean irises were glued to your figure, they did not leave your figure, which still moved with sensuality with the tempo of the music.
Shit
Holy shit

Golden Repair
"There is beauty in what is broken and repaired." Chitanko Nagi can't understand that. Nothing broken is beautiful, nothing broken can be fixed. So she pretends to not see what is broken and holds the pieces of herself together between her steady fingertips. But as new people and friendships come into the limelight of her broken world to change it into one where heroes are brave and villains defeated, her grasp trembles. With doubt. With hope. "How can a broken world shine so brightly...and how can I shine just as bright?"
A small preview of a current wip. A future fanfic for a new fandom: Boku no Hero Academia.
God-fucking-dammit!  How!? How does this always keep happening!?
Already past 9 o’clock, she’d get lucky if she got there to catch the tail-end of homeroom. Panting heavily as she ran through the gigantic gate, Nagi dashed through the lockers, not bothering to change her shoes, and headed straight to her classroom. Thankfully, she’d memorized the way to her classroom and it took a few minutes from there to reach it.
Class 1-A along with the whole first-year building was far from the entrance but with everybody certainly in the entrance ceremony, she would only have to deal with the embarrassment of being a whole hour late to her first damn day of school!
“Damn you, Yori.” There wasn’t a point in cursing them under her breath but it made her feel the slightest bit better.
After drifting the corner, she saw the tall door marked with Class 1-A’s sign. Nagi slowed down but opened the door with a bit more force than she intended. Thankfully, the classroom was in fact empty but only of people. Seeing backpacks and bags strewn on the side of, on, or below desks though made a horrible feeling sink in her stomach. Her eyes scanned the desks and only noticed one completely devoid of things and deduced that to be hers. Putting her bag down at its side and placing her camera on top of the desk, Nagi felt that despite her tardiness, it was good that she was here now. But as she began lowering to seat down and calm her racing heartbeat, a rather odd note stuck to the blackboard in front took her attention. Nagi trotted up to it and instantly blanched at the ominous message.
Class 1-A at the grounds.
The grounds…
They’re not at the opening ceremony.
“...well shit.”
The grounds were a pretty broad name but Nagi thought that they had to be somewhere visible. Thankfully, a burst of explosions caught her attention and on a gamble she rushed there praying that it was indeed her class.
From where she’d seen them, they were nothing but specks of blue—god, we had to wear our gym clothes—standing around doing some physical activities. Once on ground level and closer to the large group, the one they were currently on stuck out when a ball shot out of the park. Softball throwing? Like from those fitness tests from middle school? Her eyes followed it briefly before coming back to the group as she ran towards them. But there was a difference. That became more than obvious by the fact that they were being allowed to use their Quirks.
With bated breath, she ran at full speed even when her muscles strained and her lungs burned pleading for rest. But in a short minute, she finally caught up to the group just as the voice of an older man—their teacher, she assumed—spoke up.
“Next. No. 22, Kisa—”
“Chitanko Nagi, sir!” Her own name burst from the top of her lungs as she skidded to a stop a few steps behind the class. All eyes turned to her, strands of her ponytail messily sticking to her sweating face and bright eyes staring over the rest of the students in hopes of catching the eye of their teacher.
Nagi didn’t know what in hell’s name pushed her to announce herself in the middle of their exercises—not only interrupting their teacher but also declaring her own tardiness to boot—but if this was the first impression she’d give then so be it.
But even before she had time to even excuse herself for the thirty seconds of disruption and counting, a cloth struck outwards avoiding the students and capturing her in its grasp. The moment Nagi laid eyes on it, her breath caught and her stomach sank. Oh god, it can’t be. The cloth wound tightly around her arms, snapping them tightly to her sides before pulling her forward. Not even digging her heels into the ground helped delay the inevitable. It took little to no force to fully pull her out of the crowd and to the deadly glare of Aizawa Shouta.
“Decided to join us at last, Chitanko?”
A chuckle out of nervousness was all the reply he got alongside a tumultuous, lopsided smile of hers. No matter how much she tried, there was no hiding the slight anxiety this man caused her. “Yeah—haha, you know, the funny thing about that—”
“Don’t bother. I don’t want to hear it.” Brusquely, he snapped the cloth away and tossed her haphazardly onto the center platform. “We’re in the middle of quirk apprehension tests before you graciously interrupted. Last place gets expelled and that’s where you’re standing at this point.” Nagi stiffened at that and the tears pricked at the corners of her eyes at hearing those news. A part of her thought he wouldn’t—she’d been accepted for a reason, damn it—but Yuuei was a special school that was known for its extreme teaching styles. And besides, knowing how Aizawa is, there’s no doubt in my mind he would do it.
No, she couldn’t get expelled, not when she hadn’t even started. After finally having the chance to do something, she wasn’t about to let it die out because of her incompetence. Nagi didn’t waste time in standing from the heap of limps she’d ended up as and limbered up a bit by tossing her arms back and forth before she aloofly stared back at Aizawa to say, “How many tests left?”
“Three. And don’t get your hopes high. It’s unlikely that you’ll dig out of dead last even if you hit perfect scores on all of them.”
The indifferent expression disappeared from her face and a lopsided grin took its place. “I’ll have to get better than perfect then.” Reaching out a rather scarred up arm towards him, she flicked her fingers at him. “Improbability doesn’t mean impossibility, right?”
“Believe what you want, the facts won’t change.” Aizawa nodded his head at a student, a boy that at spotting made Nagi’s eyes wide in recognition. Pale silver eyes did the same at spotting her, floppy skin-colored ears tipped brown bristlings slightly.
A thousand emotions rushed through her mind and boiled the blood coursing through her veins. All were conflicting with one another, but two—bewilderment and joy—won over the rest, the latter making her smile change to a much gentler one.
Her hand gestured just as carefully to him. “Pass it here, Yoh-chan.”
Kisaragi Yohsei held onto the ball with both his hands before nodding and showing a shaky smile. “Good luck, Nagi-san.” Nagi easily caught those words along with the ball.
Luck. Now that there was something she’d need if she wanted to put her money were her mouth was. Then again, life wasn’t all about luck. It was about effort. And this was the first place to show what her determination was worth. Letting the faux confidence from before fuel her, she winked at him. “Who needs luck?”
Pivoting her whole body to face the outer part of the field, Nagi let her Quirk activate but kept it quiet, instead searching her surroundings. Her bracelets were the first she felt—the distinct touch of her specially made equipment light against her wrists and making her skin tingle. The buildings surrounding them had some too, if the faint sensation of it was anything to go by. Guess all the glass was for show. But what surprised her most and got her grin to widen was the trace titanium she sensed in the softball. A glance to the device Aizawa held only verified her suspicions.
I love technology.
The trace amounts in the ball would be enough to propel it if she gave it enough momentum to fly. But to transfer kinetic energy to her objects, she needed to have it in the first place. A swipe of her arm would give it a bit of propulsion but a ball was different from her spears. Much more surface area meant more resistance and less velocity. No, she needed more than just a hand gesture.
Nagi held onto the ball and walked as far as her enclosure allowed her to. Garnering enough energy in her body to transfer would be quite the task in such tiny space but she forced herself to think of a way to do it without going out of bounds. If she got herself into this stupid mess, she’d get herself out just the same.
Two will be a tight squeeze but not impossible.
Two it’d be then. Two too tight ones but she was sure she’d stay in bounds if she did them right. Squatting down with the ball still in her hand, Nagi stared at her shoes and took a deep breath before kicking off. The first backflip landed her at the center of the circle and the second her foot landed, she kicked off again with the second to backflip again. As her body turned, she threw the ball in mid air letting her Quirk work on the titanium residue inside it.
Fly!
The instant she let it go, it sent the familiar sensation of having let a part of her leave her. The titanium she controlled always felt like another extension of her body though. Even landing just a mere inch away from the boundaries didn’t distract her as she felt it go further and further away until she couldn’t anymore. The connection broken, Nagi knew that thing would start descending soon enough and stood to look at Aizawa who stared at the device in his hands.
A beep went through and Aizawa turned it over for her to see without batting an eye. The bright screen displayed 732.2 meters. “First base, Chitanko. Don’t strike out.”
“Yes, sir,” she spoke under her breath, picking up her discarded jacket and following the rest of her classmates to the next task.

Hey everyone, here's a shitty fic I wrote in like two hours last night because I am gay
A bad dream is no new experience to Todoroki Shouto, yet a whole week full of his worst fears is uncommon. He thought he had moved past this after Midoriya had freed him from feeling bound to be his father's tool, but it seems he was mistaken.
Night after night, he woke up drenched in sweat, panting, and the room frigid with ice frosting his bed sheets. "I'm better than this. I'm better than him," Todoroki murmured to himself as he stumbled out of the bed. No matter how hard he tried, he could never escape his past for long; his father and the intense training he forced upon him always loomed in the back of his thoughts.
Todoroki shuffled slowly down the hall and took the elevator down to the kitchen. He poured himself a glass of water and took a long sip of the cool drink.
"Oi, Halfie. What are you doing up at this time?" Todoroki chokes a bit, then collects himself.
"Good morning to you as well Bakugou." He receives a glare from the blonde as a response.
"The hell are you doing up at this time? Can't tell me you just so happened to travel down give floors by accident."
"I was thirsty, so I got a drink. It's not unusual for people to do," Todoroki flatly answered.
Bakugou narrowed his eyes at him and threw a thumb toward the clock in the room. "Like hell it is at three fuckin am! Not to mention you barely get up on a good morning to begin with!"
"Might I ask why you are up as well then? As you've pointed out, it's quite a late hour." Bakugou rolled his eyes.
"I'm up a lot you know, part of my bad insomnia you knew about forgot. Still doesn't explain why you're dodging my questions though." The two boys locked eyes, and Bakugou continued. "You aren't sleeping and you aren't fooling anyone pretty boy, wanna just tell someone what's wrong?" At this, the heterochromic boy scowled.
"And pray tell, why would I tell you of all people?" Todoroki's mask of indifference was slowly morphing to anger, and he quickly set down his glass on the counter. "There's no issue, I just woke up early. That is all." Bakugou balled his hands into fists, and moved closer to the other boy. Todoroki sharply said "Goodnight Bakugou." as he abruptly turned and walked away.
Bakugou let out a small string of explosions out of frustration. This is why he doesn't usually bother people with their emotions and feelings, especially emotionally stunted teenage boys with father issues. He grumbles for a bit before going back to his room.
A few hours later into the morning, and everyone is slowly emerging from their rooms to get ready for another day at UA. Bakugou is almost always one of the first ones there, already eating breakfast he made himself because he'd be damned if he went to school on an empty stomach. Becoming #1 hero meant starting your day off right with a good meal, he thought as he took another bite.
After half an hour, he surveyed the room for Todoroki, but saw no sign of him. "Why should I even care anyway, it's not like we're friends or anything," he thought as he glanced around. Kirishima was trying to steal some of his food and failing miserably, Deku was rambling on about God knows what like always, and Kaminari was trying to charge his phone with his quirk because he forgot to the night before; a normal morning.
By the time everyone got to class, Bakugou finally saw Todoroki and realized he looked even worse in brightly lit places. His hair was disheveled, his uniform was sloppily put on, and the bags under his eyes were apparent. The resident pretty boy of UA looked absolutely horrible, and everyone noticed.
Midoriya and Yaoyorozu tried to talk to him before class began, but he just waved them both off politely. Even during class, Todoroki noticed his best friends' worried looks and huffed. Perhaps his lack of sleep made him more irritable than usual. He made a small mental note to avoid most people if possible, and tried to focus on Aizawa's teaching instead of falling asleep.
After class, Todoroki had given up and just had started back to the dorms as soon as class ended. Yaoyorozu had reassured him that she was always available to speak to and support him should he need it, and he thanked her for her consideration and gently told her to not worry about him. Midoriya had given him a similar speech, but with more hinting to his issue. While Todoroki loved the green haired boy as his best friend, he also kindly told him this was no new issue and that he could certainly deal with it himself.
Unfortunately, someone had grabbed Todoroki's hand as he was walking, causing him to tense up and stop where he stood. "Excuse me, do you n-" Todoroki saw Bakugou's glare and attempted to pull his hand away, already uncomfortable with the situation.
"Yeah, I fucking need you to open up to someone for once in your goddamn life." He let go of Todoroki and crossed his arms.
"You just grabbed me, and now you demand I speak to you? I see you're a master of charm," Todoroki said sarcastically. "Also, your hands are sweaty and gross."
"They're not that sweaty dear prince, get over it. But yeah, because you avoid anyone else unless they force you." Todoroki opened his mouth in protest, but he was cut off. "Pinnaple hair and fucking Deku couldn't even get you to talk for more than three minutes to them, so something is definitely up."
Todoroki glared back at Bakugou. "Why do you care all of a sudden? Don't you hate me?"
Bakugou let out an annoyed tsk. "Maybe sometimes I actually try to help people you stupid candy cane!"
"Coming from the guy who delivers threats on a daily basis and explodes something with a poor temper, I feel I have reason to doubt this sentence."
"You know what-" Bakugou threatens, sparks already forming at his fists, "For once, just stop pretending you're okay! Just talk to me! You're a shitty liar and no one buys you're okay!"
"That's absolutely amazing to hear coming from you of all people," Todoroki sneers. "I haven't needed anyone's help for this, and I certainly don't need yours."
"Why the hell are you getting so defensive! Just open up to someone, it doesn't have to be me, just get some fucking help." Bakugou shoved his hands deep in his pockets and let out a deep huff. "In case you missed it, people fucking care about you. They're all worried as hell because of all the shit we've gone through lately and just want to be sure nothing is wrong."
Todoroki wanted to be mad, and he wanted to tell Bakugou he was wrong, but he knew he was right. "... You may have a point, but no one can help me with my problem." At this, Bakugou raised an eyebrow.
"I'm always right," Todoroki rolled his eyes. "but shoot, we've all dealt with a shitton of things lately, so maybe I'll know someone who's got your issue too." Todoroki tenses, and pondered on how to say his problem vaguely.
"I have been... suffering from reoccurring nightmares as of late," he quietly admitted. "It's nothing new, but they're happening much more frequently, and..." To Todoroki's surprise, Bakugou placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Dumbass, you think you're the only one who gets nightmares?" Todoroki shakes his head.
"No, it's just... something, I can't change, but it haunts me and I-"
"You hate it and wish it were different? Wish it would have ended differently?" Bakugou asked without missing a beat.
"How did you know?"
"Like I said, you're not the only one who gets nightmares. We've all been through our rough patches. All these villains are really getting sick of us now, don't you think?" A realization suddenly hits Todoroki.
"Oh. Bakugou, I'm-"
"I don't want your pity. It's nothing new, and life goes on strawberry milk." Bakugou says harshly. "Listen. We both got nightmares. If you can't sleep, try talking to someone. Even me if you really wanna, okay?"
Todoroki smiled a bit, "I think I can manage that." He bit his lip for a moment. "Thank you. I'm sorry for being-"
"Yeah yeah, whatever. Now stop moping or whatever and take a nap or some shit."
The nights were a bit more peaceful after that.

Was it possible to feel lonely in a Quirked world?
In a world populated by those who could fly of their own volition, of people able to manipulate the very fabric of the world, of men and women who could shift their genetic make-up at will, of a world where extra limbs or extra body parts were common… Could something as simple as loneliness, a problem so easily solved by companionship and kindness, even exist?
Yes… Yes, it did.
Quietly tapping his fingers atop the wooden desk, Izuku could hear the faint echoes bounce and dash around the room. How his mind had wandered onto this topic, he couldn't really know; nothing too serious had happened to make him question the foundation of society, nothing to make him accuse the Quirked world of a serious crime or even ponder its meaning in general… Nothing too out of the ordinary had happened to make him think these things so… why was he? Glancing down at his fidgeting fingers, he began to spy the bandages bound tightly around his arms, snaking their way down his flesh like linen serpents that constricted and suffocated his dead and crippled flesh away from society. Maybe… maybe that was why he began to think.
These scars, the ones the bandages were hiding from the world, were caused by his Quirk, the power passed onto him by another person without blood or heritage involved… In that case, he was isolated alongside All Might and all the other One for All users, trapped within the stigma and the gross oversimplification of the world, that their combined and crystalized power couldn't and shouldn't be possible; it was a secret that they must all keep to their graves for it put the very world into scale that they would not be able to escape from if the truth came out. In that way, he was lonely, not being allowed to share and talk about his secret to those that cared so much about his wellbeing. Deep down though, he knew it wasn't that. In that circumstance, he still wasn't completely alone and he had others that could understand what he was going through, others that he could relay his feelings to like Recovery Girl and even All Might himself, others that had to go through all the same crap that he was going through now… In fact, for them, in a world growing accustom to the mere idea of powers and innate abilities built within the human genome, it must have been far harder. So, it wasn't that which made him ponder.
It could have been the unrelenting weight pushed upon him by the acceptance of the Quirk…Even the users which had come before him hadn't had the ideology of All Might pushed upon them, the position of the 'Symbol of Peace' thrust upon them. Yes, they had readily accepted the Quirk and the powers it granted but to his knowledge, on the man who had gifted it to him personally had managed to rise throughout the Heroes society with it; it was to such a degree that the very island of Japan seemed to wish him success while it droves of people prayed to this modern, super powered God… And Izuku had to live up to that? The teen had previously been drowning in worry and desire for the man's Quirk that he hadn't really thought about the aftermath of his actions and so he was now sitting here, the very fate of the Hero community in his shaky, scarred hand… In that aspect, he truly was alone. Even then though, there were people like Todoroki and Bakugo who were pushing themselves against Hell and Heaven to reach the Number One spot too, against forces like Endeavour and fate itself, so even the impossible odds put before him were shared by others like him.
Then perhaps… Perhaps it was the nature of his Quirk. Adrenaline. It's very foundation was pure agony, pure fury, that to exert even the slightest amount of power a sacrifice must be made on the part of the user, a toll payed in blood to unleash massive amounts of built up energy and force on-top of the power granted by One for All. Truly, it was a magnificent side-effect, maybe even a whole other Quirk if pushed to its limit… But that is where the ideologies of the future and the ideologies of society clashed. When Izuku was younger, he used to watch All Might fight Villains all the time, watched All Might save people, watched All Might bat away problems like they were nothing and he completely idolized him… Still does, but the main reason why was because he seemed indestructible. Everything he did, he did with a smile that showcased his power and strife, that showed how he wasn't at all scared of death or chaos. That was why Izuku and so many others looked up to him… But how would he be able to be that for the next generation when every attack he gave off, every time he jumped in to save someone, he would have to bleed; the very act showed how weak he truly was, that he wasn't able to save himself, let alone a hostage or someone in danger. That… That was where he was alone.
Loneliness, it wasn't the first time he had felt it. Being Quirkless had its downsides and now he was truly embrace-
"Deku!"
Jolting up from the impact of the verbal bullet, Izuku suddenly recalled where he was; being interrogated by his friends in their classroom. Almost immediately, his skin felt hot and raw, stained scarlet from the intensity of the glares he was receiving. Surrounding him sat the impatient forms of Uraraka, Mina, Iida, Kirishima and Tooru; Iida and Uraraka he understood, they all walked to the station together, but Mina, Kirishima and Tooru didn't make much sense but considering his situation, he wasn't in much position to be questioning those around him (his guess was that the Invisible Heroine was walking home with the pink skinned teen, who was staying behind to figure out why her team-mate suddenly become a literal bloody super-human during their training session and the Hardening Hero was in a similar position).
Vaguely, Izuku began to quickly recall how he ended up in this predicament. After his fight with Kirishima and Satou, he had begun to feel lightheaded and dizzy and so tried to get back to the waiting room as quickly as possible. Before he did, he tried to ignore the prying questions from Uraraka and Mina while helping up his opponents up, which not only left him in hot water with them for not responding in the right way, but also under the gaze of the red headed individual he helped who suddenly became very interested in how his Quirk operated. By the time he got back to the waiting room, he had to deal with the staring and the open mouthed responses from most of his class-mates before Aizawa pretty much forced the class to continue – he had provided Izuku with the bandages to cover his arms, gifted to him by Recovery Girl because she knew how reckless and uncontrollable the teen was at this point in his training. However, he soon realised that his mechanic limb was missing, discarded at the training grounds; this was before he looked over at a certain Uravity to see the device gripped tightly between her fingers. He recalled trying to persuade her to give him the device back, saying that he was going to explain everything but Uraraka wouldn't bring herself to give it back, instead telling him to come back to their classroom after school in order to retrieve it.
That was when he was confronted by the 5 people in the room right now and practically forced to sit down.
"S-Sorry, blanked out for a few minutes. W-What were you talking about Uraraka?"
She sighed and out of the corner of his eye, he saw the pacing girl's fists tighten ever so slightly.
"Well, Izuku, I asked you if you would mind explain what the Hell happened just now?"
Izuku. Not Deku, Izuku. To merely hear that coming out of her mouth hurt him a little bit; she was the one to stand up for his degrading nickname, the one that made the pain he felt from Bakugo's usage worth it, the one who successfully changed his label as outcast to something that meant he was able to stand up against the very world itself, the one who stood by him… To hear her ignore that showcased her anger and her fury at this situation, how he was acting reckless and out of character when it came to this whole problem; he was usually so calculated, so meticulous in his decisions but instead, he was just stumbling about like a child hooked up to overwhelming power. He wasn't in control at this point and she and everyone else in the room had seen that…
Tugging on his bandages, Izuku grit his teeth, smashing the pieces of cartilage against each other violently as he vowed to better himself once again; he was going to fight so that Deku would be the only thing he would be viewed as, the person who could rise up against difficulty and shatter any pathetic visages placed before him and not the one who wore that title unceremoniously. Turning his gaze towards the worried girls face, the teen tried to steel himself so that he could face her honestly and not just implode with embarrassment or fear of disappointment.
"I… I was trying to figure out how to best use the new aspect of my Quirk."
He heard the girls shuffling and pacing pause.
"Huh? What's that supposed to mean?"
This time, the question posed came from Kirishima. Tearing his eyes from Uraraka's skittering frame, he looked the confused crimson head in the eye, tracing the rough scar that lay there with his mind to distract himself momentarily.
"His Quirk, duh. We did tell you about it… right?"
On the other end of the classroom, Mina started off her sentiment very high and might, almost arrogant, before quickly descending into worry and anxiety when she recalled past events. Past events that Izuku wasn't present for and so had no proper say in this interaction, instead biding his time highlighting things in his head to avoid the poignant and debilitating stare of his rosy-cheeked friend.
"Nope! He was off doin' stuff with Bakugo when we told the others."
Tooru answered off quite happily, the high-pitched voice erupting from the other end of the room as the chalk began to mysteriously doodle on the black-board. The pink skinned teen sighed.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner, Tooru…"
"Why? It wasn't important."
"If you reckon me looking sort of dumb is not important."
"What did you say Mina?"
"Ugh, forget it."
From the side of the room, Iida finally decide to make his part in the conversation. Standing up in front of the group, the soft tapping of metal as the teen moved over to stand next to Izuku, the speedster's overwhelming form towering over the much shorter Quirk Inheritor.
"We understand your conviction Izuku, it's what makes you… You. However, what we do not understand is why you would require so much potential harm to activate it?"
As always, Iida was very straight forward with a sort of harsh, blunt honesty that threatened to break Izuku's skull once more but now there was… Something else hidden below his language. Glancing up at the teen, the green haired boy found his mind tilted at what he saw; Iida was perfectly still. Usually, he was quite active, always jittering and moving his arms that it seemed he was almost physically impossible to become still but here he was, statue-esc. Izuku couldn't see his eye either, the strong glare from his glasses reflecting the starting setting sun that sat behind the teens. This was strange…
"Well, ever since my fight with Todoroki, my Quirk seems to have taken on some new attributes that weren't there before; like, do you remember how some people thought their Quirk was something completely different to what it actually was... Um, water manipulation was actually the ability to condense and transmute the oxygen in the air to be more like water due to the presence of more hydrogen atoms, stuff like that."
He paused. He had been rambling again. Lifting his head up from the desk, he saw Iida standing before him, nodding his head in complete understanding while the other 4… were still quite confused; Uraraka seemed to understand most of it, it was the whole science aspect of it that she seemed to lose attention on, he couldn't see Tooru but the fact that he doodling had slowly become more and more shaky until it was now just a selection of shaky lines had answered his questions, and Mina and Kirishima were looking at each other in morbid confusion, twirling their fingers around each other while looks of perplexing origin consumed their faces. It took a while before said pink skinned girl managed to speak again.
"Huh?"
"J-Just think of it as thinking your Quirk is water generation when its more… Water manipulation."
At this, everyone seemed to pick it back up once more.
"So then, what's this new, awesome Quirk of yours then?"
Kirishima had asked a very valid question. For all they knew, his powers were the exact same due to the common acceptance of mystery around Izuku's original strength enhancement but now that was being thrown out the window by the user themselves so… What was it?
It was here where Izuku began to fret. He didn't have a cover story ready for this; before, when he just had the base Quirk of One for All it was quite easy to cover it up as being a separate strength Quirk due to the complete variation in appearance whenever he and All Might unleashed an attack (this was now due to their side-effects but he had not known this at the time) and even now, it was actually very simple to cover up, All Might could not use pain inflicted onto him to power up his attacks after all. It was just the fact that he had to come up with the cover-up in such a short amount of time.
"W-Well, um, before i-it was just a simple strength enhancement Quirk, a mass collection of power that I was able to summon at will with the side effect of the uncontrollable nature being the damage I received after the fact. Now though… N-Now it's more of my body attack itself in order to build up energy, damaging my nerves and receptors for a short amount of time with the energy given off from the start of my Quirk, when my skin starts to get hot. Then, that pain generates more energy than at the initial activation, as pain it what brings about the energy required for the output, and so I can use it in a punch in my arms or I can use it in my legs to travel really long distances quickly at the cost of breaking the bones or tissue in the area that the Quirk is used in. Fortunately though, the energy also activates a larger amounts of blood cells which clot the skin wounds and heal them at a much faster rate, while my bones are helped by an influx in chondroblasts which heal them faster."
Glancing up from his rambling, he hoped that he had explained it to a degree to not only convince them all of his Quirk. What he received in turn were stares that made him question if he was even speaking English; even Iida looked slightly confused.
"I-In retrospect, my body requires pain as a stimulus to generate mass amounts of energy that fuel my body before releasing addition cells to help with recovery for a short time afterwards."
"Ooooooh."
Sighing. Izuku thought that he was free before he was leapt at by Kirishima, the Hardening Hero visibly in we at the newest discovery presented to him by the green haired teen.
"Woah! That is so cool! You have to hurt yourself in order to use your Quirk?! That is so manly!"
Clapping Izuku on the back with a wide and toothy grin, the Inheritor couldn't help but replicate it.
"It's also really stupid and really dangerous."
Glancing ahead of him and away from the spikey haired teen, Izuku let out a small sigh at the sight of Uraraka. Her eyes were filled with fury and anger, laced with bouts of annoyance and confusion but the words that managed to roll off her tongue contained no malice and no hate, only care and comfort. All-in-all, it was a very confusing picture that, while settling the picture of a distraught and perplexed girl in the teen's mind, also made him contemplate his own situation; he had made her feel all these things, made her do this because of his messed-up Quirk. Looking her in her eye, Izuku was about to speak up when a loud cough and the hard tapping of shoes filled the air.
"Now that's all fine and dandy, right? But please indulge dear Izuku… What the Hell do you need with this thing then?"
Practically skipping towards the group (who had unanimously decided to congregate around the Izuku's desk for whatever reason), Mina was accompanied by the faint sound of hollow metal as she moved. Following the noise to its origin, Izuku suddenly found his skin growing hot in embarrassment and under the heated glare of a certain Gravity Girl, her entire form somehow being consumed in a comforting rage as the pink skinned girl near them; in her hand, Mina was carrying his mechanical limb, his device, his… Scar-Suit. Sucking in a breath at the badly worded and really bad name, the teen looked at it as the handle jingled and shook around, clashing with the metallic frame of the device as it did and creating the ominous noise emanating from the girl's grasp.
When she got near enough, she placed the spindly frame on the desk, wiping off her hands on her skirt before placing them on her hips and turning to Izuku with a look of playful terror in her eyes, knowing what this would mean for him purely from the look on his face.
"Go on then, what's this thingy-magij do for your Quirk?"
Staring down at the mechanical structure, Izuku relented as he picked it up.
"So, when I was explaining my Quirk, I told you all that my body needed pain to act as a stimulus for my Quirk, that it allowed the release of energy which would then be used in my limbs as a source of power. I also explained that this stimulus can come from my own body, with a sort of precursor energy activating alongside it to provide pain initially so that the after effects and the primary source of energy can be used. However, at this point I-I don't know if that will do anything long term; I don't know if it'll damage me internally, even with the additional cells helping the recovery, or if it might damage me mentally… Think of this source of Quirk activation as what happened at the Yuuei Games, during my fight with Todoroki and how I sort of lost it."
Gazing up at his impromptu audience to make sure that they were still following, he was met with a few small nods from Kirishima and Iida, showing that they were at least following this part of the explanation but Mina and Uraraka reacted differently; both appeared to be flustered at the mere mention of that fight, with said Southern girl gaining a thick coat of red dusting her entire form as she avoided eye-contact with his entire person while Mina was staring straight at him, lost in a swirl of lilac as she just lost herself to whatever she was thinking. Whatever had them up in arms, he couldn't tell, so Izuku just continued his talk.
"A-Anyways, the source that activates my Quirk can also be external rather than internal, meaning that my body doesn't potential suffer any psychological or internal damage that I am completely unaware of. Instead, if I am able to deal a significant amount of damage to myself with something on the outsider like a knife or just sheer damage to my body, I am able to use my Quirk. This is just a rough proto-type that I was testing out; the spines on the sides they… Um, stab my skin just enough to generate the energy needed to use my Quirk without seriously damaging my body. At the minute, it's the safest thing to do."
Glancing down at the skeleton before him, Izuku began to outline it and look upon how it could be altered. Even in its short time of use, the metal coating had to scratch off, revealing the twisting frame below it in all of its rustic glory, while patches of dried crimson dotted the length of the appendage, complementing the dull sheen of silver that lay across it. In a way, it mirrored how Izuku's own life and attitude was panning out; he had only acquired Adrenaline a short time ago and it had changed his future and his mindset exponentially, made him feel more alive and freer then ever while still chaining him to a harmful ideology that he knew was bad for him.
This power that lay dormant inside of him had heightened his desire for being a Hero, his want and strife for becoming someone of such a high calibre that it only managed to push him past all of his Quirk's downsides; he could fight through the pain if it meant it could give back to everyone in his life, to All Might for giving him his Quirk, to his Mom for supporting him and helping him all his life, to his friends for being there and pushing him to rise above it all and he could do all of that with his own power, with some that kept true to the value of All Might while still giving him a personal touch and patch of freedom. However, at the same time, it bought forth all of those thoughts from earlier, about how it made him unfit to have the mantle of the Symbol of Peace. At this point, Izuku couldn't tell if he was over-reacting to this and just worrying over nothing or if this was a genuine concern, with his Quirk being in its infancy he was unable to gauge how others would view it, but it was a concern that had trapped Izuku in a vice-like grip of worry that he just couldn't shake. Adrenaline truly was a double-edged sword, no doubt about it.
"Are you sure that this is the safest option Izuku? I mean, I don't want to be rude or anything, but looking at your arms I'm not so sure."
Hearing a soft, sweet voice by his ear accompanied by light breaths hitting the shell of his ear made the teen recoil in shock before figuring out that Tooru had moved from her position from the blackboard, instead coming over to listen to his mumbling about his Quirk. At the same time, she was softly running her invisible hand down his arm, smoothing over his bandages and the wounds inflicted by his Quirk in a calm, comforting manner that allowed him to understand her feelings. Didn't mean he wasn't embarrassed and nervous at the thought of having any kind of girl this close to him.
"A-At this stage, y-yeah. I may h-have to be use bandages a lot, b-but compared to what the fight against T-Todoroki did to me… This truly is the best option."
Without thinking, his scarred and damaged fingers crept up to the back of his skull, contorting and stretching around the cracks and fragmentations that lay there as a result of the fight; and the foolish actions he performed while under Adrenaline's influence. Suddenly, his thought process was interrupted when a heavy hand hit his shoulder and forced him out of his head. Slowly turning his gaze up to the where the impact came from, Izuku's brow soon became furrowed at the sight of Iida, his eyes turned to the ground.
"Iida?"
"Izuku I… I think that you should reconsider using your Quirk in this manner."
Looking ahead at his friend quizzically, he soon found that the stares of everyone else in the room followed to the tall Hero-in-training.
"What'd you mean, man? He just explained that he can't really use it without riskin' himself."
Shoving his hands in his pockets, Kirishima began to lean against the desk in front of Izuku's, offering Iida his own perplexed view on the matter, unable to figure out why the teen would want to stop Izuku from using his Quirk.
"I only mean that he should try and manoeuvre around this aspect of his Quirk and use it like he used to."
"You mean using it to the point where it… Broke his bones? You sure about that Iida?"
"That is not what I am insinuating. Only that- "
Next up was Mina, offering her own point on the situation, providing a flaw to their speedster friend and his way of thinking. As she was talking, Izuku was just thinking. Why would Iida be so against this idea? He had seen how he acted with his Quirk before, so him hurting himself wasn't a new topic… Maybe it was the idea of prolonged exposure to pain would change him? That he wouldn't want to improve or better guarantee his own safety due to the power it offered him? No, it wasn't that. Glancing down at his damaged hands on the desk, he turned it so the palm was tilted towards him; there was another layer to this.
Biting his lip, his eyes turned upwards to meet Uraraka's the girl just as confused as he was; it was to the point where her anger and fury had subsided, replaced by complete confusion. Staring at her, Izuku began to think about what could have happened in the last few weeks that… Could have…
He understood.
"This is about your brother… Isn't it?"
All conversations ceased existence as soon as Izuku spoke up. Everyone turned their eyes towards him but the teen was only focused on Iida and his reaction. He was silent for a few seconds before letting out a heavy sigh and turning towards his friend with a heavy expression in his eyes.
"I saw Tensei's body Izuku. It was broken and beat up, so bloody that it made me want to gag. That was my brother, that was the Pro-Hero Igenium right there, destroyed in a matter of seconds. To me, that is what you are proposing we let happen to you; that we stand by and let you destroy yourself for the sheer purpose of being a Hero."
Subconsiouly, Izuku squinted his eyes.
"Stand by? No, Iida, I just wanted to tell you why I need this device and anything like it in the future. T-Tomorrow, I'm meeting up with Mei again so that we can work on costume ideas to better get my Quirk under control. If you want to talk to me about anything do it, but you know that I can't just stop being a Hero."
"It is that determination that scares me. My brother was the same way; he wanted to help everyone no matter the cost, be a great Hero that made people smile no matter the cost… Just like you. And after everything that has happened with this Hero Killer, I'm scared that one day I will be back in that hospital, looking at you in that hospital bed, all because of your own Quirk."
This type of care and comfort had rarely been directed at Izuku so at the minute, he felt overwhelmed. However, that didn't mean that he couldn't argue his point. Iida was trying to have him stop using this part of his Quirk, the part that he felt so conflicted about, for his own sake. Yes, it was so that he and others wouldn't see Izuku beaten and battered but that was their job as Heores, to take the damage that others couldn't. In an act of selfishness, the Quirk Inheritor shot back at Iida.
"Iida, t-thank you so much for you concern but you have to understand that this is all I've ever wanted. As Heroes, we have to be ready to put our lives on the line for other people and even if I have to put myself at risk to even use my Quirk, that is worth it if I'm able to save one person. My Quirk, while not invincible, can help me bounce back from any damage I receive; I understand not to over use it and rely too much on it but, it will help me. I-I'm not trying to be insensitive here Iida, I really am and it's out of respect for you and your brother, but I am not Igenium."
The room seemed to freeze over slightly as Izuku spoke those last 3 words. It may have sounded harsh, especially coming out of someone like Izuku, but it was something that needed to be said. Locking eyes for a few seconds, Iida's soon dropped. Then, he slung his bag around his shoulder and began to make his way to the door but before he did, he managed to say one thing.
"Neither am I, Izuku. Neither am I."
Watching him about to leave, the teen tried to stand up, to get Iida back here to talk instead of just letting him leave and wallow. He was stopped by an invisible force however, as Tooru pulled him back in the same soft, calm manner that she had spoken to him with earlier. It was quite a departure from her bubbly, over-the-top-self but something told Izuku that this was more real than that was. Despite not being able to see her, the boy turned around to where he face would be and looked there with peril and regret in his eye.
"Let him go for now Izu, he just needs this time to think. He'll be fine soon but for now, just let him be."
Too engrossed in worry for his friend to notice the new nickname applied to him, Izuku just nodded and returned to his seat, head turned towards the wooden surface. Silence crept around the room for a few minutes before the loud beeping of a phone went off, alerting everyone to its presence. Kirishima was the source. Pulling out his phone, he looked through it quickly before sucking on his teeth.
"Damn. Listen, I've gotta bolt it but thanks for telling me Izuku, it helped me understand a little bit more. I'll be ready the next time we fight, got it?"
Smirking slightly at the challenge, the teen nodded at his red-haired friend, earning a wdie smile in return. Picking up his bag, Kirishima was about to leave but took one look at the group of four one last time before dashing out and jogging down the hallway to leave. Now that he thought about it, Izuku realised that they had been here for some time, with pretty much everyone else in the building having already left. He was distracted for some time before being coaxed back in by a cough right in front of him.
"So then… Izuku…"
Looking up, the green haired boy could audibly hear himself gulp at the glare he received in return, the intensity of which seemed to set the very room on fire. Uraraka was standing there, cross armed and a pout adorning her face as she stared him down. She may have been trying to be more aggressive, seem angry and annoyed at what he just said but instead he could just focus in on how her brow twitched alongside her mouth as she tried to remain stoic; to be honest, Izuku found it quite cute.
"Uraraka… I can't just give up because of what my Quirk is. Yes, it is dangerous and yes, I understand the risks that it entails but I want to be a Hero and now I can be; I told you I was a late bloomer so I haven't had the 10 plus years all of you have had to train and get accustom to it. No. I have to work harder to make sure that I don't lose control and end up hurting someone else with it, to make sure that whoever I save can be comfortable if I come to help them… Work harder to make everyone proud."
Gazing back down towards his desk, Izuku could hear the sigh that emanated from Uraraka's mouth. Too scared of the reality of the situation, of having his dream rejected again like it had been so many times before, he didn't even look up from his desk, the desk which housed his beaten, bloody hands; they sat comfortably under bandages and curls of linen, hiding them away from the rest of the world and even though he was unsure of his purpose, unsure of whether he could become the Symbol of Peace in this state, he was sure that he would try his damn near hardest to make that dream possible and no longer have it squandered and shot down by those around him. Now, he would live for his own dream.
Quietly, he heard the faint tapping of shoes across the wooden classroom floor until they stopped in front of his desk and he watched in content and confused silence as the table bent slightly under the unexpected weight of another person; of Uraraka. Glancing up to meet her, he saw a comforting softness to her face which hadn't been there for some time. Calmly the girl began to move her tiny hand towards his, the size of his dwarfing hers, until she clasped her shut around his flesh. Undeterred by his confusion, she resumed running her fingers up and down the warm piece of linen.
"Iz- No, Deku. I can't promise that I know how you feel, and I can't say that I completely support this silly mindset of yours… But the way you smiled just now, when you talked about your dream, it made me realise that I can't say that I hate the idea or say that I should be angry at you for your decision because I cannot bring myself to be any of those things."
Leaning forward, she took more of his hand into hers and began to wordlessly undo the bandages, letting them drop to the desk with a soft thud. Then, the Southern girl pulled and pushed the cat-like pads on her fingers across his numerous scars and scratches with reckless abandon.
"We care for you Deku… You need to remember that. We care for you so much that when we saw you jump into action today, when we heard you scream and shout, our hearts began to beat like crazy, and we didn't know if you were really alright or not. We… I was so scared for you."
Pulling herself closer, she enveloped Izuku's top half in a tight hug, holding him closer to her chest while he froze, scarlet coating his entire form.
"Please just be careful, okay?"
"Y-Yea, s-sure."
In the few seconds that she was holding him, Izuku could feel all the care and warmth that Uraraka felt towards him; it was like nothing else he had ever felt, he had never truly felt that much attention and worry for him from someone that wasn't his Mother and that in itself, was enough to make him emotional. But it was more than that. It was that she was able to show this to him without speaking it, she could and it would work but she didn't have to. No, Uraraka could do it, make him feel like this without words and that meant so much to him.
"Alright Love Birds, let's get moving or Aizawa will chew us out for being here so long after school hours."
Shooting away from each other, Izuku and Uraraka grow grew thick red blushes on both of their faces as they turned to see Mina's wide and sly grin adorning her pink face. Alongside her, Tooru's clothes swayed and moved in spirals to show her impatient attitude as her bag, covered in colours and different stickers, swung around with her. Sighing, Izuku pushed himself away from his desk and grabbed his small yellow bag while Uraraka moved to grab her own bag. Offering each other one final smile, the two turned to their friends with an expected gaze.
"Well?"
"Hm? Oh yea! Do you mind if we walk with you guys? We sort of got ditched talking to you guys."
Tooru replied, the same bubbly tone present in her voice. It made Izuku pause. Now that he had been exposed to that softer, calmer side of her, this happier, over-the-top personality just seemed sort of… Off. It seemed more unnatural, something made-up but to be honest, he didn't know the girl enough to take that guess to heart so just let her be for the minute.
"S-Sorry about that."
"Ah don't worry Muscles. Anyway, you owe us now so you basically have to let us walk with you."
Sticking her tongue out at the boy, Izuku couldn't help but sigh at Mina's interactions with him. Didn't stop him from turning a shade of brighter red though. Didn't help when Uraraka got involved.
"Damn! She's really got us here Izuku! Blackmail it is!"
"C-Can we just go please?"
