Yep, and that's how trials go wrong

I love a good pathetic fictional man but some of you need to remember he has an actual personality besides that.

I beg people in the QSMP community learn just never ever be xeonophobic never ever be racist and NEVER GENERALISE AN ENTIRE COMMUNTIY TO A SET OF TRAITS
its just exactly how racist shit starts to form. Never say all people from one communtiy are the same or have a same trait to all of them. Its just stupid
this applies to all communities from brazilian, french, spanish, english and korean and whoever else joins later on.
Also please be aware EVERYONE is capable of racism. It can be easy to just throw accusations of rascim to other people and not tackle it in your own community.
I can say in the hispanic community its easy to just throw the blame of the recent xenophobia towards brazilians onto the "gringos" but lets be honest theres loads of racism in the hispanic community too.

i didn't want to post this on my main bc i didn't wanna be an asshole but.
i don't give a shit if bully characters had a tragic backstory or if they were/are mistreated by their family. they're bullies. they hurt others. i'm so sick of everyone woobifying bullies. and don't even give me the excuse that they're kids and "kids will be kids". bullying does more harm than ppl want to admit. i'm sick of y'all ignoring that.

Npd culture is seeing those triggering videos popping up like "can narcissists even love?" and then thered just some misinformed rando overconfidently answering no. Like boohoo, you piece of shit, i guess all the people i love must not fucking exist then, do you even know what npd is?
(but inwardly, seething at how much hate there is towards us. like at this point we deserve the nice things they say we're trying to steal)

Reflecting more on the OFMD fandom debacle happening, and I think another thing is that people just. Need to take a character’s word at face value.
The writing is very explicit in that the crew literally killing Ed by beating him to death was the catharsis they needed to heal. That’s it. That’s how deep it goes. Izzy said flat out to Stede “this is our fault for making Ed like this,” and to take that away from Izzy would mean to erase his entire characterization from season 1 and the growth he displays in season 2. He WANTED Ed to be cruel and sadistic. He didn’t care about the well being of the crew OR himself. That isn’t debatable: he’s said it several times flat out. And he needed the crew to be able to tell him, “no, you just want a family. And this is wrong.” Before he could remedy the mistakes he made him season 1 (AND HE DID MAKE MISTAKES IN SEASON ONE!! LMAO)
Izzy’s growth from “Everything is for Blackbeard” to “Everything is for the crew” is so so so important. To imply him dying somehow ruins that misses the point entirely: it was never about Izzy the individual, it was about the community, it was about their family. He literally says that killing him wont take any of that away because they are GOOD. THEY ARE GOOD, FLAWED PEOPLE. they hurt each other, they are hurt, and they come back together.
And moreover, they aren’t REAL. This isn’t victim blaming or excusing an abuser or whatever—they’re fictional pirates who do fucked up and cruel things to one another. And Izzy acknowledging that HE CONTRIBUTED TO THAT ENVIRONMENT isn’t him blaming himself for Ed’s abuse, it’s him taking ownership for ruining the safety of THE CREW. yes, it’s uncomfortable. Yes, it’s messy. And yes it’s SAD! But that’s what a good story is. I’m not going to analyze a work of fiction like I would real people. They’re fictional, queer pirates who are all cruel and sadistic and also full of love, have dreams and aspirations, and most importantly, they CARE deeply about one another.
And also they will bring Izzy back if they get a season 3. Idk why we’re acting like there isn’t a precedent for them bringing back dead characters—they LITERALLY killed Ed. LMFAO

I really dislike this idea we shouldn’t talk about past horrible behaviors/actions of celebrities because it’s “in the past”. For me at least, being able to be open about rather uncomfortable, sometimes illegal, immoral, unethical etc actions of celebrities can be useful in addressing these SAME ISSUES WE SEE WITH CELEBRITIES TODAY.
Like we can’t fix the past, but I sure hope we can have conductive conversations and try to change the attitudes and culture around celebrities and their fans, and in the ways such a relationship can be abused or exploited, especially the younger the fanbase, and how we can address and possible come up with solutions to minimize the harm that comes from celebrities abusing their powers.
