rn my game plan is nagato and konan preemptively kill madara, so obito regular-dies on the kannabi bridge mission. although i can't imagine nagato and konan letting the war play out exactly the same, so i might change my mind on that. but basically obito is too much of a wrench in any sort of plot for me to let him be reborn too l m a o. also of team minato kakashi is 100% my fave and i don't want to have to figure out how to rewrite his personality in an au where obito lives

i haven't made any decisions on rin yet. i might let her die too in the interest of having fewer characters to juggle. this isn't really meant to be a fix-it fic, more like an exploration of what choices akatsuki would make if allowed to relive their lives and letting tori get a chance to be her own OP ninja. minakushi are "saved" in that if i made itachi deal with sarutobi + the uchiha massacre on his own, i'd just be rewriting homemade dynamite :P

but if i DID let obito and rin live, i don't think tori could stop herelf from bullying obito. he would just make it so EASY.

I don't mind you asking at all!! Actually I'm very glad you asked! :) I love talking about jjk and I think I've annoyed everyone I talk to irl far too much about it at this point!

MANGA SPOILERS (UP TO 255) BENEATH THE CUT!! (ALSO IT'S LONG AS HELL UNDER THERE!)

My favourite characters (you can all probably guess but I'm going to list them anyway!!)

Choso

Chances are, if a character is an eldest brother and has dark hair and eyes, he'll be my favourite! Dick Grayson, Uchiha Itachi, Portgas D Ace, Iida Tensei (favourite male chara based on vibe alone haha), Kamado Tanjirou, Mori ohshc (it's old ik ik but I was in love w him!).

But beyond that, I just adore Choso. His devotion to his brothers, his awesome use of blood manip, how intense he is and how tired he looks-- he's awesome!

2. Yuuji

Again completely unsurprising! I also tend to go for upbeat, spunky and happy characters as my favourites. He goes through so much, but still manages to maintain an iron resolve and hold onto others, and to create and protect special bonds with others. I truly admire this about his character-- and I hope he gets the happiness he deserves. If not, I'm always willing to write it for him hehe.

3. Maki

Maki is so cool to me, I enjoyed the chapter with her and that sumo guy so so much-- imo he was her first real mentor! (Sorry Gojo!) I love how relentlessly strong she is, how tough she's had to become and how, no matter what was happening, she held onto her own resolve. Everything she did being for Mai absolutely stole my heart.

4. Nobara

Nobara saying she "only has so many chairs for people in [her] life", vs seeing just how many chairs were there, waiting for her to find special people to fill them absolutely broke me when I saw it animated. I was legit crying. I love how assertive and aggressive she is, and how she's still a very sentimental and protective person. Her admiring Maki was so cute, I could never let those scenes go!

5. Sukuna

I have to give it to him, he's a great villain. I was skeptical about this at first-- I love Nanamin and Gojo and Miguel and Yuki and so many others so much! -- but looking through the screenshots of the manga I have, 70% of it is Sukuna. He's very attractive, so relentlessly evil and just so strong, too.

Now for my favourite scenes!! Sorry if this is way too much to read!

Red Scale

The entire episode. I've rewatched it so many times and screamed at all the same parts. I love the fighting, the animation, blood manipulation coming in clutch, the memories that don't exist-- everything! It's just such a fun episode to watch! And on top of that they're my two faves, of course I love it!!

2. Higuruma Hiromi saying "let's have a retrial"

Listen-- I don't know why, but something about that panel is SO attractive to me. I was screaming at his later scenes (I wanted Sukuna's head on a pike and his ass on the executioner's blade), but that early shot of him just refuses to leave my mind.

3. Maki sumoing with Miyo

IMO he was her first proper mentor, and I love the growth that we see in her, and the insight into her mental state since losing Mai. My heart broke for her in that scene, so getting to see something more personal of her, how she struggled with everything that had happened to her and all her responsibilities, and how she was able to overcome it by focusing on the present, on what she could and could not see-- rather than everything she had to do.

4. Yuuji, Nobara and Megumi going crazy at the end of s1

I will never get Megumi's crazy smile and laughter out of my head-- he let LOOSE!

Nobara's "game of chicken" had me giggling like mad, yelling at the screen, cheering, everything!

Yuuji and Nobara's black flashes cemented this scene pack for me-- I just love it! Their powerups, their growth in this short period and their teamwork! I love to see it hehe.

5. Todo's locket opening to reveal Yuuji and Takada-chan

Todo is so genuinely special to me. I have never seen a more delusional character, and I don't think I ever will. I've loved him since he asked Megumi what his type of woman is, and every time he's on screen I can't help but laugh. This scene in particular made me cry with laughter-- the whole episode I was clapping and cheering, mimicking his poses, texting incomprehensible messages to my friends. Todo is everything man.

crying this is vaguely related but did you guys know neji appears in a time travel episode(/arc?) in the boruto anime. does it surprise you to hear that it makes me extremely mad

but also so true LMFAO i'm usually the type to give things a chance (or so i'd like to believe) but not much of boruto interests me 😔 some of the kids look cute and i like.... like..... a few of the timeskip designs (...like three of them? i like suigetsu karin and tenten's.) but it's not worth it and in fact i think having to see neji and hiashi alive in the same UwU Family space would have had me banging my head against a wall.

i'm veeeery fond of their og naruto dynamic, i think it often goes misunderstood/understated but to me it's one of the highlights to the original series! from stuff like kakashi shielding him from orochimaru and sealing his curse mark (which. btw. crazy. LOVE that scene) to the ENTIRE deal with chidori and the pride kakashi felt watching sasuke fight gaara with it... i think it's SURPRISINGLY well done! while i due to personal preference like to read it as specifically familial, i think you can read it anyway you want (not all mentor-type dynamics need to be familial in nature and not being so won't make it any less meaningful)

i don't think kakashi was a particularly great teacher (in fact i think tenzo is shown to be a MUCH better captain/mentor the moment he's introduced to team 7 lol) but you can certainly tell that he cares about all of the kids and wants to do right by them, it's just that with sasuke specifically to me it feels like it's of highly personal significance to him?

and it's not hard to see why, obviously kakashi and sasuke do not have the same trauma but i find it reductive to say that it means kakashi can't see himself in him at all, or that he can't be of any use to sasuke? one of my favorite scenes is the (... i think mildly controversial, from what i've seen?) one where he talks to sasuke on that tree and tells him to drop his revenge quest, because while yeah it was not a perfect effort, to me it's clear that 1. kakashi was being very genuine in his words and 2. that it like... almost worked? sasuke was very sincerely pondering his words before the sound 4 came along.

btw so funny that both kakashi and obito tie him up when talking to him. anyway

so you add that with the weird relationship kakashi has with the entire uchiha clan, starting with obito (the very reason kakashi is able to teach sasuke in any meaningful way at all), going through itachi if you treat team ro as canon WHICH I DO, I LOVE TEAM RO, and ending with sasuke, who is someone kakashi can still try to give a normal life to? yeah i can see why he might feel personally responsible for him!

sasuke's side is less in your face but like... sasuke sought kakashi out to help train him and very much echoes kakashi's words about not abandoning your comrades. he is also often the first one to understand where kakashi is going with something, him and kakashi have similar ways of going through life even if kakashi has majorly mellowed out with age.

there's also little things like how sasuke just had no qualms about walking into kakashi's house unannounced (after itachi beat his ass ty itachi looove u itachi), even before that, how when kakashi calls sasuke over while itachi+kisame are having tea, sasuke just kind of announces that he HATES sweets (so cute), as if he made the assumption kakashi either bought it for him or was thinking about it? like.

look at his baby face.

despite whatever route it ended up taking To Me it's very clear that they did have a special bond and that it was a VERY important part of sasuke's everything pre-shippuden, he was clearly comfortable around kakashi despite his standoffish attitude. it was not perfect and kakashi does hold blame for a lot of things (in general he has a very hands-off teaching style that doesn't work great with these kids), but that's like. part of why i like it you know! it's a little complicated but not through any ill will. it's just that they are both full of Issues lmao

it makes me ssoooooo saaaaad that they BARELY speak to each other at all in shippuden because like. that was one of THE dynamics in the original team 7 you know? and idk if it comes as a surprise but i'm not even OPPOSED to sasuke wanting to kill kakashi by the time they meet again? in fact i think it could be kind of awesome. because like he could have a lot of reasons to be angry with him, up to and including the mere fact that kakashi took SO LONG to even meet him again?

(remember when team 7 finally meets sasuke again w/ tenzo and sai, and he himself mentions kakashi? it's one of those things you can choose to dismiss as meaningless dialogue but i often do think about it lol)

but instead we have sasuke in the peak of his borderline-demonization by the writing, which just leads to there not being much of an interesting dialogue at all. i'm not opposed to kakashi's sharingan being something that sasuke comes to resent either — it could be very fun character writing as that is the very thing that encouraged them to bond in the first place —, but i don't like the way it was done and i ESPECIALLY hate how it was immediately dropped like BROTHER MY PLOT THREADS... THEY'RE FALLING APART...

i could go on about a thousand different other things, such as.

sorry to mention jiraiya but. the rasengan vs chidori thing is VERY telling; jiraiya is naruto's mentor, and kakashi is sasuke's, this is reflected best when the kids each use their respective Overkill Jutsu at each other and the adults each take responsibility for their own kid

again, i'm unsure if it's fully intentional but there is this opposition of orochimaru vs kakashi other than the obvious confrontational scene they have. the very fact that kakashi is the one to put a limit to orochimaru's literal influence on sasuke through the curse mark is a very interesting narrative choice! kakashi is also extremely afraid of orochimaru and highly protective of sasuke; again it reads as a Personal fear/protectiveness rather than purely Professional to me. it builds this idea of kakashi being one of sasuke's choices, and orochimaru being the other (and we know which one he chooses unfortunately lol)

chidori in general is like. crazy btw. it becomes sasuke's signature move. and it's kakashi's creation. hi

this is also something that was dropped but there was also the occasional pointing out of similarities between, fucking, lee and gai of all people vs kakashi and sasuke? and like i don't need to explain this one that much right. gai is lee's dad in like everything but name LOL (and much like kakashi he also has questionable habits when it comes to how he teaches his kid)

but this is way too long LMFAO my tldr is that I Like Them And I Wish They Had More Screentime </3

their dynamic concretely to me is about caring very much about someone who shares a lot of pain with you, but being a little intimidated by that shared aspect. nothing hurts more than failing / being failed By someone who you know DOES understand you, in the end!

it's all my personal preference of course there's no right or wrong way to read naruto (well the wrong way is thinking it's good.) (joke) but i WAS surprised to not see sasuke and kakashi's relationship being discussed more (esp. with empathy for both characters) because well. obviously it's one of my favorite naruto things GFKDMGKFDM

I'm someone who has never read/watched naruto and never will but loves reading naruto fanfiction with a heavy focus on worldbuilding. I wrote out a long explanation but in short I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions about Itachi and the Uchiha massacre as I have seen several authors handle it very different. Have seen some tags a while ago about it and it sounded so interesting. <-I like your words and would love to see more of them especially about this.

Itachi and The Uchiha massacre?

Oh Lordy lord do I have some THOUGHTS on this (mostly as an unapologetically unhinged Naruto series fangirl but I DIGRESS ...😅)

Obviously, it’s a very bad thing to kill ones family. OBVIOUSLY, right? But how I looked at it when I was younger and how I look at it now is very very different.

When I was younger I was still sympathetic to Itachi but was like “He should have tried way harder to find a different option, etc” and I never took into account his own trauma and what that did to his reasoning ability because yes everyone and their mother was blowing smoke up his ass about being *such* a geniussss and he’s sooooo smart and if he was soooo smart he should have found a better option right BUT ...they were only doing that because they were using him for their own ends! They were manipulating a KID. Also I don’t care if it’s some fictional world with different expectations for what kids do he was still literally a CHILD. 13 at the time of the massacre. Sure he was an adult the rest of the time but I remember what I was like at 18 (when Itachi returns and gives Sasuke that ass whoopin) and 21(when Itachi dies in that epic fight) and lemme tell you I was still an emotional disaster from my own childhood bullshit.

Also, a huge thing I never took into account back in the day was his relationship with Sasuke. Everyone is always going awwww it’s so adorable he cared about his little brother so much how cuuuute like...it was literally parentification, my dudes. Don’t care if it’s fantasy anime world and what have you, parentification is a legit trauma and absolutely changes the way you think. That’s when it clicked for me why Itachi couldn’t have found a “better way” because he literally got tunnel vision to where his top priority was saving Sasuke aka his CHILD no matter what. I’m sure he knew about all the emotional trauma he was about to put Sasuke through but in his fucked up parentified mind it was ok because it meant Sasuke would have a *chance* at being happy and that chance was enough for Itachi. So their relationship just makes me so sad instead of me going aww that’s heartwarming how much he cares etc because WHY WAS A SIX YEAR OLD LOOKING AFTER A LTERAL BABY WHILE HIS PARENTS WERE COOKING UP A COUP?!

Sighhh...lastly, I really like his character because he’s not even that over powered and he is very flawed via social skills so idk how everyone got the idea that Itachi fangirls/fanboys love him because he’s “the best” or “the most powerful” when he’s just a weirdo who did the best he could and just happened to look ✨cool✨ doing it. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Plus he admitted he fucked up in the end and told Sasuke he had a right to choose his own path and even told Naruto hey don’t try to save everyone and do everything all by yourself because things WILL go to shit if you do etc...

And don’t get me started on Itachi’s war trauma because what kind of shitty father takes their kindergarten age kid to a battlefield?!?! Fugaku ain’t SHIT

I just really like his story. It’s sooo much more than just him killing his family omg oh nooo you know what I mean?

I highly doubt any of this was helpful and I know it rambled but thank you for giving me a reason to go balls to the wall about one of my fave characters anyway! 🤘🏽😅

Not gonna reply to the post cuz I’m really not all that interested in the conversation. I’m just gonna rant a moment.

I am not that big of a fan of bringing up Lee beating Sasuke up like it’s a serious thing. It’s not really a “gotcha” for me lol. I kind of “scold”Lee for it.

Don’t get me wrong, it is super funny to look back on and you add the fact that Itachi and Madara looked at Gai like he’s a threat (and he is). We get the funny meme about “Uchihas don’t mess with the bowlcuts”. Haha.

But outside that…Lee came out of nowhere and was willing to kill Sasuke for his own clout, as stupid 13 year olds do with a major ass chip on their shoulder. He’s been training longer. He’s older. Sasuke rubbed him the wrong way and was also just existing being the last Uchiha so- the stupid kid with a complex did a stupid thing.

It’s hilarious but also sad.

If you weren’t all that hyped in Sasuke there is just something satisfying about an arrogant but goofy looking dork deliver in what he was boasting. Potential murder stopped then backtrack and say “well, actually I am not the strongest lol”.

Rock Lee peaked at the chunin exams. He doesn’t really become a relevant character after that. I tell people that he probably should have just died cuz he has nothing to bring, doesn’t really add on to anyone’s story either. He’s not a major player in Sakura or Neji’s story. He is stagnant and a bit static. The absolute comic relief that gets the occasional cool moment that gets upstaged by other more important people.

The Last is apparently the only considered canon Naruto movie. Well, Lee got to lead a squad of other gate users to destroy meteors. He gets a cool moment only for Sasuke to arrive and- well, you can’t have the only considered canon Naruto movie without Sasuke. Of course he stops the really big meteor that Lee couldn’t.

Like, I’m trying to just be happy that my fave can boast about punching a meteor, which in the grand scale of things in Naruto land, is near minuscule but hey! Wow he did a thing and it wasn’t “hilarious” comedy shenanigans. 🤡

He never beats his rivals. He never overcomes his master. He doesn’t have any new techniques that are his own. He, I guess, does achieve his dream. He certainly is a splendid ninja who only uses taijutsu.

Do I sound bitter? Maybe I am. I mean- it’s my fault, right? Lol my favorite character is the dude that got a goofy ass spin off series. My favorite character worked so hard. And his achievements are all: he kicked Sasuke’s chin in one time and he smacked Gaara around, oh and he survived surgery and teehee he can do drunken fist.

He is a stepping stone (haha funny joke the rock is a stone is a-) for Sasuke. And wow!!! Why wouldn’t that be frustrating???

We see this guy who barely trained a month whale on Gaara (the guy that crippled the fave) with the help of move he swiped via magic memory eyes. A move that probably took Lee a long time to hone. And I’m pretty sure (I might be wrong) he never uses those techniques again in shippuden so- that’s…that’s cool.

But sure. Rock Lee fans are bitter cuz literally the only moments their fave is relevant gets brought up a lot but hey boohoo, right? Not like Sasuke can do all this powerful shit and has a place in the bigger picture of a narrative…oh wait.

Must be nice. Not to mention the merch and everything else. But hey. I’m just bitter ass fan of a joke ass character.

Oh gosh I second what the other anons are saying! Speaking of Itachi & Minato ultra fans, the ones on Reddit and Youtube are UTTERLY insufferable. So many discussions on those platforms about the two involve V.S. battles and ridiculous power scaling!!! It's fine that they love these characters, and there's no denying they're strong, but it ALWAYS ends up in a playground game. "Minato's stronger than infinity!", "Oh yeah?? Well, Itachi's stronger than infinity +1!!!". It's a continuous argument that never ends; the only thing it exists to do is prop up their respective faves. ughhh. I feel u on the future generations surpassing the older one, too. That also irritates me super bad :( [sorry 4 the essay in ur box i had alot 2 say ❤]

I got really pissed at one of those youtube video’s that was power scaling between Kakashi and Tsunade. Like, yay it recognized that Kakashi was super strong but it downplayed tsunade’s skills SO HARD.

Like no, i actually don’t want my fav’s strengths recognized at the expense of others. I’m not these toxic af reddit and youtube dudes. Give Tsunade the respect she friggen deserves as a Sannin!

I see so much of that too where they just have to make sure everyone knows how strong their super ultra fav is.

Tobirama fans too, except with an added level of toxicity of ‘he was right to hate the Uchiha and Danzo was a good guy’. I want to say i’m surprised there are supporting a character who vouched for the murder of LITTERAL CHILDREN but somehow in this world i’m unfortunatly not surprised

Another thing that annoys me is ‘Itachi has the saddest back story’

Don’t get me wrong, he has a sad back story and he made an incredably horrible choice and took his brothers hatred for yesrs in hopes of helping him get stronger

But he’s no where NEAR having the saddest

Naruto, alone with people hating him for something he had no control over for years (and i mean outwardly hating him. He was loathed)

Gaara being hated by not just the village but his own father?

Sasuke literally walking into his home to find his clan and parent’s murdered by the person he looked up to the most? And then finding out this all happened because some hateful POS’ who had power in Konoha?

Kakashi fighting to keep his precious people safe and losing them one by one?

Sorry, Itachi’s backstory is sad but it’s not comparable

Oh. OH. A fanfic I haven't written but daydream about constantly is a Naruto×One Piece crossover where Ace and Shisui meet up in-between life and death after they've died, and they get swapped around

Basically, Shisui in Ace's body and Ace in Shisui's body, both back a certain amount of time before their respective deaths, and they can communicate between each other but they can't tell each other things like who killed them, how they died and how to actively avoid that

On one hand, Itachi immediately notices something is off because the usual 'Shisui' is not, well, behaving like usual. On the other hand, Ace's body gets sent to shortly after he has met Deuce so he's the only one that notices that something's not quite right

And so they have to navigate this new world they know nothing about, without their usual skills at their disposal. Shisui almost drowns a couple of times before starting to get used to the fact that he can't use chakra to run on water. Ace also almost drowns a couple of times because he doesn't know how to properly use chakra to walk on water, and he has to get used to the fact that water no longer weakens him while Shisui has to get used to the fact that he can't swim anymore, although he's not really sad about it given his death

Deuce and Itachi are the only two knowing about it, even though they don't know everything, like, they don't know that this happened because Ace and Shisui died in a timeline that doesn't exist anymore, and they think that this is the work of some weird Devil Fruit power/Kekkei Genkai jutsu

I just love the idea so much. Ace and Shisui are my faves, and the idea of Shisui with the Mera Mera no Mi? Ace with the Sharingan?? It's chaos. Ace doesn't give a shit about what is proper and what is not, as soon as he hears about a coup d'état he stands up to Fugaku and the Elders and calls them on their shit, no Kotoamatsukami needed. Meanwhile Shisui has worked in ANBU, he knows how to sniff out traitors, he's not going to keep up with Teach's bullshit and he's going to find proofs of how rotten he is (and ofc Thatch survives, I love that man too much for it to be healthy)

Also the idea of Shisui meeting Rufy is gold, he would love him immediately, meanwhile Ace catches sight of Naruto one (1) time and adopts him without thinking twice about it, fuck the rules, he's a pirate at heart he doesn't follow the rules

I feel like Shisui would also take his new identity as "Roger's secret son" with both his hands, make it his bitch and wear it with pride. It would make the whole world turn on its head. Garp wants to strangle him after all the years he spent keeping him a secret. Sengoku wants to kill Garp. Everyone wants to kill Shisui. Whitebeard approaches him because he's curious about the sudden appearence of a son of Roger, and that's how he joins the crew (and gets the Jolly Roger tattooed on his left bicep where the ANBU tattoo once was)

Meanwhile Ace gets to experience how it feels to be free from such a burden. Like, yes, there's Uchiha Kagami who is his ancestor and the clan doesn't like him very much because he chose to train under someone from another clan, but no one hates Ace. No one tells him to die because of his family name. It's freeing, and he likes it. Even though he had come to realize that he did indeed deserve to live, he has never really changed his opinion on Roger and also OH MY GOD SHISUI I CAN MAKE A GIANT GREEN POWERFUL AVATAR APPEAR WITH A SINGLE THOUGHT HOW COOL IS THIS

They're both having a blast. They love it. And obviously, they become best friends

i want to preface this by saying i enjoy darkfic >>>> fluff or humor so this may not be your usual rec list. i have read a lot of the popular fics recced by others but they are not the sort of things i enjoy reading. that isn’t to say they aren’t good - i’m thankful for anyone who contributes to fandom with their gifts BUT i am creating this because there are so many good fics out there that are underrated and undiscovered.

i don’t read many AUs and enjoy even fewer of them (every AU i like is here) but this is one i will rec forever because the atmosphere is sublime and the plot is tight.

Naruto has been fighting a war for the life of his neighborhood for the past four years, with no end in sight. His world is violent, arbitrary, and ruthless, but it is simple. It makes sense. And then Uchiha Sasuke fucks everything up.

another modern-ish AU and such an underrated piece that made me cry at the end. it is really emotional and that good.

Five years after Sasuke leaves the village, he comes back of his own accord and no one knows why. Captured and put under house arrest, Tsunade tells Naruto, Sakura, and Sai to live with him, take care of him, and make him better. But Sasuke isn’t the same Sasuke they remember.

idk if i can say i recommend this or not because i didn’t have fun reading it, but the execution and writing and how the story unfolds is astonishing. there are some fics that are easy to read and digest, and this is not one of them. you read some fics because you need to.

definitely not something i will reread and even for someone who prefers darkfic, this is unflinchingly dark. but good. very good. naruto and sasuke’s relationship is built upon shared trauma and an undercurrent of darkness (and that’s the main reason why i love them so much) and this explores their relationship in all its dysfunctional glory.

Everything ends, eventually. Eight years after the war, Sakura’s unhinged and Sasuke’s obsessed. The fields are filled with corpses. AUish, canon-divergent, Sakura-centric.

this is tagged as SS but it reads more like a sasuke character study (and a sakura one). it’s cosmic horror which is really hard to write and it’s so dark, creepy and surreal and one of the few fics that have really stayed with me. imo it’s a must-read for those interested in a realistic, darker sasuke whose fate is not intertwined with naruto’s.

There were the Uchiha.

There were the Dogs: those Uchiha of disreputable age and intent under constant scrutiny of ANBU.

And then there were Itachi and Shisui.

this lives in my head rent-free. i would be going about my day and randomly i’ll think about this and it’ll just crush me. it explores the political implications of the uchiha's existence in konoha and it’s incredibly dark and real. i cannot state how dark this is and i love it a lot a lot a lot.

also there is just something about this title and how short and simple it is that is so effective after title after title of pretty sentences and accompanying parenthesises.

and I like your question. let’s see, um, well Hidan and Deidara I can see being typical young guys and just living off of fast food. I can see Deidara eating like 40 McDonald’s chicken nuggets in one sitting, covered in a mix of bbq and sweet and sour sauces, and still complaining about being hungry. Hidan I can see being a burger guy, the bigger and thicker, the better. And not just a burger but a burger loaded with pickles and tomatoes and onions and half a cow’s worth of cheese. Topped with a mountain of ketchup-drenched fries that Deidara (if he’s eating with Hidan) will filch half of. Oh, and soda. These two can down an entire 12 pack of Coke each or just guzzle two liter bottles.

Kakuzu and Kisame, I can see being a bit more evolved in their tastes. Kisame being half-shark probably has an appreciation for fine sea food, like salmon or mahi mahi; or I can also see him being the type to go to one of those conveyor belt sushi places and just amassing stacks of plates at his elbow. Kakuzu, well the old guy is cheap af, but on the few occasions he’s not, I can see him enjoying a nice steak, rare, maybe with sautéed onions and mashed potatoes, and some sort of cruciferous vegetable. Kisame strikes me as a water drinker and Kakuzu (again when he’s not being cheap) either a good glass of wine, or a scotch.

Sasori doesn’t eat, but if he DID, I can kinda see him having a thing for soufflés. Like wanting to make them on his own and always working on perfecting his recipes to make the fluffiest creations ever. Making a soufflé requires a lot of precise baking work and attention to detail, which I feel someone like him would be good at. Also see him as being the kind to enjoy a cold glass of milk, and *chocolate* milk if he’s being “adventurous” that day.

Konan, she has such a lovely slim figure and I imagine she eats in a way to keep herself in shape, so mostly healthy foods like salads, yogurt, lean proteins and a variety of fruits and vegetables. But when she allows herself a “cheat” day, I can see her being just as big a fast food eater as Deidara and Hidan. For some reason I picture her going to Taco Bell, ordering a nachos bell grande and like 4 chalupas, eating it all, hiding the evidence and working out twice as hard the next day, to make up for it. Also see her being like Kakuzu in that she enjoys an occasional glass of wine, maybe a hard drink every now and then.

Obito and Itachi, they grew up in the Uchiha clan and the Uchiha never had a lot of money or resources, instead learning to stretch what they had to make delicious meals. So I think each of their favorite things to eat would be home cooked things, simple yet tasty. Maybe for Obito garlic-roasted chicken and potatoes, or possibly a marinated roast beef. For Itachi, I can see breakfast as being his thing, like big homemade breakfasts like his mother used to make: pancakes, fried potatoes, sliced tomatoes, eggs, bacon, or maybe once in a while something like an apple tart. Both of them strike me as tea drinkers, although I see Obito as drinking his tea plain/black and Itachi using a lot of honey or lemon or sugar as sweeteners.

Nagato, I think he’d really be a fan of pasta. Easy to eat, easy to digest, and so many different types. I think a vegetable lasagna would be his favorite type, noodles and ricotta and mozzarella, spinach, zucchini, carrots, peppers … and he’d ask Konan to make this for him at least once a week. He’s not a big eater in general but with this I can see him having 2 or 3 servings. Also see him as being a coffee drinker, although he’s trying to cut back because the caffeine probably isn’t very good for his heart.

and Zetsu … well, his eating habits would be hard to stick into a modern day world, right? But maybe he’d enjoy some unique cuts of (cooked) meat, stuff like roast rabbit, or herb-crusted rack of lamb, or maybe even quail or squab. Like Kisame, I see him as being solely a water drinker.
