we are 9 days sober and our lithium increased last night. we are working really hard in therapy. we are trying to get back on track in school. we are training for new positions at work. we are learning new skills like playing piano.

here’s to trying to be better

#being sober is hard #but if i’m high i’m unable to do anything #it helped me stay alive after last december #but it’s time to move on

No offence to all the Gifted Kids out there but life got harder for everyone when they got older and went to university/college, you aren’t especially hard done by because someone told you that you were special in grade 6 or smth

tw: Examples of reblog bait/people trying to guilt others into reblogging stuff. I am not actually saying the things below, they're just examples that I have seen.

I fucking hate when people say stuff like this. Especially when it's on a generally good post with valuable information. On the one hand I want to share that information because it could genuinely help someone; on the other, I don't want to spread this type of guilt-tripping and shaming and potentially trigger someone else like me. It's a lose-lose situation. No matter what I do, I am going to feel guilty. No matter what I do, I will feel like a terrible person. It sucks and I just wish people would stop doing this. I know it's shocking, but it is actually possible to make an important and useful post without guilting everyone that sees it into sharing.

#in general i just don't reblog anything that tries to guilt me into reblogging it #there have been so many times where i consider reblogging something and then see people saying the stuff above #and i automatically move along because i can't handle interacting with that sort of thing #moral ocd #serious #my thoughts

why should palestinians have to leave behind their land because israel wont stop killing them. why should anyone have to leave behind their life and memories and sentimental value just because an aggressor is left unchallenged. please think this sentiment through and delete it from your thoughts. instead of blaming an oppressed people for living in a hostile land, ask who is making that land hostile to live in.

this whole oceangate submarine fiasco has actually led to a lot of interesting talks and debates about the grey area of human empathy vs the inclination to recoil at the bizarre behaviors of the ultra wealthy and how people struggle with both ideas and is actually very interesting to watch play out in different types of people

#like some people are on polar opposite sides where they have no empathy for the passengers and have moved on #while others are in tears over the likely death of these people #well everyone else in the middle is struggling compartmentalizing both at once in their minds #yes for this wondering I do have submarine fever this is the most fascinating thing that’s happened in a long time #oceangate #titanic
