Some BP/HH/General asks
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That mood when you want to share all the things but also want to keep it under wraps for the actual thing haha! Thanks very much anon!
As for your questions, I can't actually be specific cos there's no definitive number I have in mind for either. Basically there are a number of sectors (you can consider them their equivalent of countries - they have less than what we do though), and a number of species of demon of which I've designed about seven of. The ones I've shown before are these guys (and do you think I could find this pic again? No, I had to recreate it cos for the life of me I couldn't remember what ask I'd previously stuck it in lol):
Tumblr media
One day when i have enough species and stuff out there I want to make a proper field guide \o/
Tumblr media
Thank you very much for the interest! ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_ I would actually love to for BP, but before I jump the gun there I have to get the comic out first lol. That being said I have made mini-games before featuring the HH versions and some other characs alas they are all lost at the moment to the sands of Flash becoming obsolete 😩
Me and Gato do still collab sometimes (and send each other Xmas presents)! °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
Tumblr media
I have been working on one off and on for a while actually! Hopefully I'll have some pages to post next year or so*, I've been doing a bit of thumbnailing recently :D
*that is the plan but i also don't know where people find the time to do anything with a full time job lol.
Tumblr media
Hullo! Glad you are enjoying the snippets of BP I've got here and there :D Here is an older ref on Izm back when i first got the idea (at that time i didn't really plan to do anything with it, it was just an AU. Now it's my main project haha. Anyway the ref is a little bit out of date in that regard.)
I used to have a "field guide" which was also made quite a while ago, unfortunately the death of Flash kinda killed it. Here's a screenshot of some relevant info from it though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's an interesting one as it's questionable how sentient souls are after removal 🤔 In my mind its only form is the smoke light, it can "see" to some degree and MIGHT be able to talk (but in a very no one can hear them sort of way, a la i have no mouth and i must scream. So i guess it can think "aloud"). The more time passes the less sentience it has.
It could try, though it wouldn't really get anywhere if it's in Rire's collection. He might just eat it lol.
Tumblr media
.D: Good with kids, will be fine in all aspects.
Izm: The fun dad however needs a partner that knows what they're doing to ensure the child safety during shenanigans.
Marcus and Zeke: Also would be good parents though might be more helicopter out of protectiveness/worry when first starting out.
Ren: Geek parent very good for homework help. Some Asian parent tendencies eg "ah see, i told you not to do that right? Now you see what happened."
Tumblr media
They are similar to our known society for this! So basically, there are some good families out there (eg Zeke - who is a demon - is from a pretty average loving family), and there are some bad families out there who only care about power or having an heir or whatever.
Tumblr media
HH Rire is a human. I differentiate between him and Demon Rire because they are two different characters...even though they are also technically the same character lol. You can consider them as alternate universe iterations of a base "Rire" concept.
Tumblr media
I actually half jested this in an old comic lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am sorry to inform you that a HH webcomic doesn't actually exist 😅 I did a lot of art, animations and one shots (such as the HHJ comics) with them, but nothing actually planned or serialised or anything. Whatever's currently on my DA or here is basically what exists.
Tumblr media
Bringing this image back cos it's relevant lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You spelled it correct there though! XD

I feel like a Dceased video game would honestly be terrifyingly awesome to play and if done well, can also deliver very good emotional angst at certain moments, ESPECIALLY the ending, because Damian sacrificing himself and then also having his last moments with Jon to say bye literally made me cry frrrr😭😭 and that's the first time a comic book has ever made me do that (I imagine it would probably be turned into a little series though maybe just to get to that point, like...possibly three games?? Because that apocalypse lasted a long time in the books and everyone who survived grew and got older with all of the time passing by, but idrk though, unless there's a clever way that's figured out on how to fit the whole story into one game without any of it feeling weirdly rushed)
And I can imagine it having gameplay style like The last of us (except some of the main characters have abilities and others have very useful hero gadgets now) and also so many great jumpscare moments too, and like literally because it's mostly superpowered zombies now everywhere besides the regular ones, which is even more terrifying
It'd just be a pretty fun experience all of it, along with a lot of good main characters (idrk all of them though loll) to switch to during different parts of the story (but whenever it's their turn, I would really LOVE playing the Supersons the most though during it hehehe, especially in this kind of setting)
The only thing I would hate though is if the Damian x Cassie romance gets kept, because it just feels weird tbh due to her always being an originally older character that's also always actually been apart of Young Justice (she should be with Tim, Kon and Bart instead who are her main group, not the Supersons!!). And besides the romance, she was only put with the boys just to be the girl in it and also recreate a trinity thing, like Bruce, Clark, Diana, but I don't feel like that fits Damian and Jon's type of thing at all imo
I would honestly just replace her with Maya and Kathy, because they're so much more fitting for a team up with Damian and Jon, especially because of the fact that they're the perfect girls right there too who already have such close relationships with the boys that isn't forced like hers is!! Maya is Damian's sister and Kathy is Jon's first close friend, which is good enough, and I would make sure the romance is still erased, cause they shouldn't have to date just because they're boys and girls hanging out (and obviously mostly because Maya is Damian's sister too, so that would be gross)
But okay, that is just getting a little too off topic from what I'm really trying to talk about I think😳, but my whole point is that it would be really great to have an actual game like this based on the series and I would totally buy it and play it if it was real!!!

Eskewcity's Top Ten Games of 2023
Hello!!! I've decided to compile a list of the best games I played this past year. As such, this list is not limited to only 2023 releases (in fact a majority of the games I played are several years old atp). Additionally, I only considered games that I had completed by year's end. This means that fantastic games such as Signalis and The Talos Principle 2 will not be included, though I still highly recommend them.
Finally, I will put my ranking under a read more for the sake of not clogging anyways dash. Hope you all had a good 2023 and maybe can find something that interests you mwah <3
10. Subway Midnight by Bubby Darkstar
Tumblr media
Board the train! Run away from a weirdo! Solve some puzzles! Make friends with some ghosts! Try not to become a ghost yourself!
While I am not someone usually willing to gloss over a somewhat lackluster story for the sake of gorgeous visuals, I will give Subway Midnight an exception. Even with a game that largely takes place in a subway car, it was exceptional when it came to its visual design. It has a blend of a cartoonish style for the characters mixed with extremely realistic environments. The gameplay itself was also quite fun, if not tedious in multiple runs and I really enjoyed the variety of characters that players encounter.
9. Broken Reality by Dynamic Media Triad
Tumblr media
A humorous adventure set in a 3D parody of the internet. Diverse puzzles, beautiful worlds, friends, experiences, upgrades and more, await those who 'log on'!
Depending on yourself, Broken Reality might either be a headache inducing cacophony of colors or a fun exploration game about the internet and the commercialization of products and each other. For myself, I choose to look at it from the latter perspective. I found the game to put quite humorous and I really enjoyed all the different worlds to explore. Much like Subway Midnight, I would not recommend it much on its story but I think the design and concept certainly carries where that lacks.
8. Hylics by Mason Lindroth
Tumblr media
Hylics is a recreational program with light JRPG elements.
At its core, Hylics is a game with a pretty simple concept. Fight your way through the world with the end goal of defeating the big bad, Gibby, King of Moon. However past that, get ready for a confusing and abstract adventure. This accounts for several reasons. For one, the dialogue of Hylics consists of randomly generated sentences that feel almost coherent while maintaining a healthy amount of head scratching. The game was also created through claymation leading to characters and environments whose shapes twists and turn in perplexing patterns. While this may seem to take away from the experience, I found this not to be the case at all. In fact, I would say it enhanced my time playing greatly. I could not stop thinking about Hylics after I played it simply because its weird and purposely lacks focus which makes it all the more memorable.
7. Babbdi by Sirius & Léonard Lemaitre
Tumblr media
BABBDI is a short, first person exploration experience with light narrative and platforming elements. Visit the town of BABBDI, a forsaken district in the outer ring of the megalopolis. Meet its inhabitants and discover how to escape.
In Babbdi, your goal is to leave Babbdi. You must search through the city to find a train ticket that can guarantee your escape. However, the ironic part of playing this game was that I did not rush to leave. While being a free-to-play game, it had an incredibly sizable area to explore. The game actively encourages the player to search every inch of city to find its secrets while also reminding the player that their goal is to eventually leave all of this behind. If you have an hour or so to spare and love games focused more on exploration than action, this is definitely one to check out!
6. Who's Lila? by Garage Heathen
Tumblr media
A reverse-detective adventure, where you control your character's face
In Who's Lila, you play as a young man named Will who cannot properly control the expressions on his face. As the player, your job is to ensure that he reacts properly to the world around him. The game even starts with a tutorial on how to respond accordingly to a variety of situations. While a seemingly simple concept, this game is not as it may appear. In fact, and without giving much away, Who's Lila requires multiple playthroughs to order to begin to piece together what is truly going on.
5. Hypnospace Outlaw by Tendershoot
Tumblr media
Greetings Enforcer, and thank you for enlisting in the Hypnospace Patrol Department! As the world falls into its slumber, Hypnospace becomes a bustling global village. These virtual streets aren't going to police themselves!
Taking place in 1999, Hypnospace Outlaw tasks you as a moderator for a new form of technology which allows users to surf the internet in their sleep. As the player, you're tasked with seeking out policy violations and handing out warnings and even banning users, if necessary. There is so much about this game I can say but I find going in blind is the best. I definitely found some frustrations which some of the puzzles and how obtuse their solutions were but its undeniably one of the most unique games I have ever played.
4. Return of the Obra Dinn by Lucas Pope
Tumblr media
Return of the Obra Dinn is a first-person mystery adventure based on exploration and logical deduction.
In Return of the Obra Dinn, is a mystery game where you not only have to determine the fates of one person, but an entire ship's crew. Additionally, you have to determine the names of each individual based on existing records. By going in the past to witness the last moments of each individual, players can be able to slowly work out the mystery of the Obra Dinn. As someone who plays many puzzle games, I found this to be one of the most satisfying I've ever played. I also thought the game just looked gorgeous and was extremely fitting for the vibe it was going with.
3. Papers Please by Lucas Pope
Tumblr media
Congratulations. The October labor lottery is complete. Your name was pulled. For immediate placement, report to the Ministry of Admission at Grestin Border Checkpoint. An apartment will be provided for you and your family in East Grestin. Expect a Class-8 dwelling.
As a border patrol officer, your job is determine the legitimacy of the documents that are brought to you by people wishing to enter the country of Arstotzka. This requires things such checking if their paperwork has expired, if they match their passport photo and if they have the necessary seals for entry. However, what if someone comes to the border fearing for their safety if they are denied, without the correct paperwork? Will you let them in, risking punishment for yourself or deny them, ensuring that you will able to provide for your family at home? Papers Please is a game that will continuously make you question your own ethics under a authoritarian regime. I found this game to be incredibly emotional and made me replay several days simply because I decided against my initial judgments. Certainly one of the most impactful games I played this year.
2. Presentable Liberty by Wertpol
Tumblr media
You have been imprisoned without being told why. All you can hear day in day out is the faint ticking of a clock in your cell. That is, until the first of 5 fateful days begins.
Sometimes there are short indie games in the world that fundamentally change you and this is one of them for me. With that in mind, there is not much I want to say about Presentable Liberty since I find its best experienced blind. The short of it is you play as a prisoner as they receive letters from those on the outside. The gameplay is minimal since the player is stuck in their cell for the majority of the game but promise you when I say it does not much that action when its biggest strength comes from its writing. While this game had its short lived success on Youtube, I implore everyone out there to play it and see why I choose to rank it this high on the list.
1. Cry of Fear by Team Psykskallar
Tumblr media
Cry of Fear is a psychological single-player and co-op horror game set in a deserted town filled with horrific creatures and nightmarish delusions. You play as a young man desperately searching for answers in the cold Scandinavian night, finding his way through the city as he slowly descends into madness.
Honestly, it's insane it took me so long to play this game especially when loving a piece of media that's a psychological horror featuring a depressed character wandering a city is kind of what I'm known for. However, I finally got around to it and I'm so glad I did. While not the most technically savvy game out there, it is incredible what Team Psykskallar managed to pull off while offering players the opportunity to experience the entire thing for free. Several times throughout playing Cry of Fear I couldn't stop thinking how much better it was than many of the games I've paid for. Like I said, its definitely not the most polished horror game out for sure but damn was I charmed. Even after I completed this game, I immediately had to restart so I could play with director's commentary as I was just that damn interested in learning about as much of this game's development as I could. And its because of how invested I got in playing this game but also its background, that I choose to make it my number 1 pick this year.
(fuck that train level though)

Just beat side order n while i did have fun it kinda just confirms one thing to me: splatoon has just been trying to make octo expansion 2 again and again. It was clear with return of the mammalians, and it was clear here- especially the finale. I definitely liked it but i did wish there was a bit more plotwise yknow- having a sanitized octoling as a character was sick as hell but i wish we got to know more about sanitization from them and more about acht and marinas pasts- i admit I'm still hunting for the dev diaries so if any of these things are answered there i will gladly take it.
Also this is just me being cringe but they should've gone all out with the color theme and have eight get rainbow ink for the final boss
Your first point is VERY TRUE honestly they REALLY HAVE just been trying to recreate octo expansion ever since octo expansion came out lol. (Spoilers for Side Order under cut)
I'm not "done" with the story yet, I hesitate to call the first full run-through of the tower "the story" despite the final boss being there. Arguably when you beat the final boss, that's basically the prologue for the ACTUAL story to start, because prior to that you have like... maybe 20% of all the lore the thing has to offer. I feel like it is a weird decision from them to put so much of the story (well, not even really story, just unlockable lore) behind you already having beaten the final boss and rolling credits, given most people that get through the final boss will treat that as the mark that they've "beat" the game even though in Side Order's case, "beating the game" is really just STARTING the game. (And this makes most of the story technically postgame, which is something a lot of people don't enjoy.)
I believe the ACTUAL story will further unravel as you do repeat playthroughs of the tower, as the story is less "get to the top of the tower and defeat Order" and actually more "reconfigure all the palettes to save all the people whose souls have been pulled into the Memverse (name pending)". I won't be giving any bigger consensus on how the story is or if it's good until I've *actually* gotten to the very end of it, because the way it's been unraveling I am interested in if there's some other developments later on - I'm thinking there's about a 50/50 chance of there really not being anything more than extra lore, but the other 50 chance of there actually BEING some kind of story progression later on still.
They definitely SHOULD'VE done rainbow ink for the Order fight... I can agree with people on one thing and it's that the final boss was very underwhelming. I got to the final boss on my FIRST TRY (then died because i got knocked off the stage lol) and just... having the final boss be about one and a half hours of gameplay after STARTING the game is not great lol. But even with the final boss battle itself, it felt extremely underwhelming with no buildup and a short boss battle, and you could argue that the whole story IS buildup to the boss - this is true! But if it's JUST buildup to the boss, then... my point is Side Order's first full run kind of feels like the escape phase in Octo Expansion with much worse payoff. It's a pretty good buildup for a pretty underwhelming final boss, but it's just that - JUST the buildup, really. I think Octo Expansion's escape phase might even be longer than my average run of the tower, and the tower is the main game.
I dunno where I'm going here really. I do hope they start doing more ACTUAL LIVING STORY in Splatoon rather than putting the characters in a box and giving you all the information as a text box - but that's something i expect from Splatoon stories as per default, honestly, so i wasn't let down. As for the story itself, I'm pretty happy with it and it's delivered above my expectations so far (which were low, so that isn't saying much). I'm just really happy they're finally doing continuity and going back to elaborate on Octo Expansion - you know, something that a lot of people love and. something I have been complaining about for like 6 years straight now because im a hater. Though I also think the decision to make the story indirectly - AND directly - about octo expansion is a really weird choice given there's got to be a lot of players who never played it, and those players have no idea what's really going on and probably won't care as a result. Thanks for the ask!

141 x gn cosplayer reader
This is my first time doing headcanons so if there's not enough detail or the characters are occ I'm sorry. I'm trying to get better at writing so if you have any constructive criticism, it is appreciated if you want to comment it.
Captain Price
° Price was a little confused when you first told/showed him. He's not into any shows or games like that and doesn't really have a ton of time to watch or play any.
° But once you explain it makes you happy and you have fun, he's not one to judge. You're not hurting anything so no harm no foul in his mind.
° It might surprise him a little when he walks into the kitchen and he sees you in a new character design, but he'll start asking questions about the new character like what they are from, just to see you get excited about it.
° If you make your props and clothes yourself sometimes Price will sit in the room and just relax with a cup of tea. If you need help, he'll try but normally just watch you do your thing. He does find it very impressive that you can recreate and make so much of it.
° Does appreciate small details even if he doesn't know what they mean, sometimes he asks about them but he normally just ends up more confused about it.
° You will not get him in cosplay, he will hold the camera for you or a prop if you're out in public while you're doing something, but he won't cosplay partly in fear the 141 will find out
Ghost
° Doesn't go on social media so when he came home one night and walked through the door and he saw you, both of you just stared for a minute. You never told him and didn't expect him to be home so soon.
° Once you tell him that it's fun and you enjoy it he just says okay and accepts it. Ghost doesn't care but in a, you do you, kind of way.
° He will help make props if you want him to but doesn't really have an eye for details so if you want it more picture detailed then you'll have to do it yourself, but Ghost is great at carving things and bending/cutting wire.
° He can stitch things, if you give him a small piece to sew he can have it done fairly quickly but can't sew frilly stuff
° Will study the final costume when your done and tell you that you did good, you put a lot of work into that and it shows, you should be proud. Will help adjust it when you put it on so it sits right.
° Again will not cosplay, if there are no phones, no pictures and you swear not to tell anyone he will but on a pair of animal ears/wigs if you ask. Totally fine in public with you in full cosplay, if someone makes fun of you he will stand behind you just staring at then
Gaz
° Knows what cosplay is and isn't against doing it himself occasionally if it's nothing too elaborate. Might know the characters if it's from popular games or shows, probably won't know any anime characters
° Gaz likes the props, he thinks they're cool. Will help make stuff but isn't great at sewing, but has great eye for details and colors. Eventually he asks if you would help do a small cosplay, nothing big but he would still like to try it. He isn't against the 141 knowing but isn't going to show them any pictures either.
° He has more fun than he originally thought he would, especially making everything, seeing it come together and look more and more like the character. Doesn't really want to go out in public, maybe eventually but not in his first couple times wearing it, you can take pictures though
° He tends to pick up stuff he thinks you might be able to use if he sees something, and anytime you need to make a trip somewhere to get more material he's ready to go. Will be more hesitant to go on shopping trips at like 2 am cause he's tired and you should be sleeping but he might still agree to go
° Gaz is great at taking pictures and videos, has very steady hands, also dedicated to getting the good pictures. You wanted a picture from a higher angle and he's climbing something.
Soap
° Knows what cosplay but hadn't met anyone who did it, when Soap sees you he's asking questions like, how long did this take you and how did you make it.
° He is a very crafty person and likes to be putting his energy towards something. Will happily help with whatever you need, he can sew, paint, build and knows a good bit on how to style hair, not good with make up or wire.
° He's not so big on cosplaying himself but might do ones for special occasions, and would probably be elaborate.
° Soap is always impressed when he sees the finished cosplay, everything looks just like it does with the character and you made it all through very hard work and Soap thinks that should be rewarded. Every time you finish a cosplay he likes to either take you out to do something fun or stay in, order food of your choice and cuddle up on the couch for the night
° Always likes seeing whichever new character you want to cosplay, even if he doesn't know them, and is willing to make a shopping trip whenever you need too.
If you made it down here thank you for reading and if you have any tips for me to improve my writing, they're always welcome

💕 self-love time! talk about which ones of YOUR creations (edits, artworks, fanfics) you like the most then send to other creators to do the same 💕
Thank you for sending me this back! I usually don't talk about how much i love some of my edits. But it's their time to shine!
First of all i should say that this portrait of Debbie is currently a GEM among my edits. I love it so much with all of my heart. The hair, the makeup, the BLOUSE. And the colors! Lately i've been trying various color schemes to diverse my edits more and this one comes out very special to me.
Second favorite is Andrea's portrait. I was just testing tattoos on her and took this portrait almost randomly but i love the way she's looking. Her eyes are full of strenght. Her previous portraits wasn't my favorite for some reason (maybe because she wore much makeup)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These ones are pretty old (from 2021) but i still geniunely love them! Especially Naomi. The idea of recreating her was rather impulsive because i was binge watching The Expanse but she comes out insanely realistic to me! She is edited a lot, i know. But her whole face structure was fully made in game. I just added some little touches of highlighting and shading. This portrait was unusual to me since i usually don't take screenshots at the background with something (just blank color surface yk) and it was fun to edit, especially draw her hair! It was almost the first time i drawn curly hair.
Second one is my self-portrait! Still my favorite because of the hairstyle, i think. This is my favorite type. I dreamed about converting it since ages when i didn't have converting skills. Too bad it haven't had much attention when i uploaded hair :( Nvm, everything is calling out to me from the hair to the colors and neat editing in here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My favorite portraits from sci-fi series (which is no longer exist now) Rhea should've been betrayer of the squad and Paula had a role of a smart android on board. She was designed by Aaron and he took his deceased wife as a "face claim".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still in love with these two portraits!
First one is my friend and classmate Oksana. When i showed her my creations, she asked me to recreate her in ts3. I already thought about that before she asked since she is really unique beauty! And she was also the one who supported my sims-hobby and adored my every picture. That was so cute of her. She liked the result by the way!
Second one is my "son" Freddie! I love him with all of my heart, he is just cute in this sweater even with his serious look in the eyes. This simple portrait was just for a preview picture for contacts, but it ended up being my favorite as self-dependent picture. They both came up pretty and realistic to me!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the last one closing my top of favorites is Francine. This picture has taken in far away 2018. It is named "autumn rhapsody" on my PC. Francine really means a lot to me as a character. I developed her very well, and i wish i could tell whole story about her someday. To me, Francine is bright and melancholic just like autumn. Her color scheme is also what reminds of autumn and the last rays of sunshine that lays down on the fallen leaves.
Tumblr media
In general i have a lot of favorite pictures of mine but they weren't posted for some reason (i'm lazy to edit them) so i hope we will see more in future!

Rating my own recreations of my Hawkes in Inquisition
Why? Because I thought it would be fun. Please feel free to steal my idea and tag me so I can see your Hawkes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alessandra Hawke
World State: Elf Lovers
Difficulty: Easy
DAI's character creator offers a very similar hairstyle to to Alessandra's original. Her lovely hooked nose is a key feature and DAI fortunately had one similar enough, though it's a little more rounded at the end. She looks a lot more Tired in DAI, but all Hawkes do, and they probably should. It's tough to get a more rounded jawline in DAI, so her face looks a little more angular. Darker skin tints tend toward warmer in DA2 and cooler in DAI (and cool light severely washes out medium browns in DAI) but all told, she came out pretty darn good.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sabine Hawke
World State: For Love of the People
Difficulty: Easy
She changed her part to the other side, but otherwise Sabine came out pretty bang-on. All Dragon Age games need a better variety of Asian features now and forever. Nonetheless, I think her face shape, skin tint, and even her nose comes pretty close. Looking at these shots, I could have possibly made her chin a little longer and rounder. That's about the only quibble I can come up with.
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cillian Hawke
World State: Love & Magic
Difficulty: Moderate
Cillian took a few outtakes to get right. The hair is acceptable, eyes and mouth look good. and after a lot of tweaking I think I got his face shape pretty bang-on. The nose, however, is a problem. The nostrils are sitting way too high relative to the point (as opposed to his original nose which is pretty straight across the bottom), which makes him look like he's sneering at all times, and this combined with DAI Hawke's tendency to have a pinched, worried brow makes him look Angry in a lot of shots--not exactly right for a gentle-hearted Blue Hawke. Nevertheless, I'm really proud of how I nailed those cheekbones.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Emilia Hawke
World State: Noble Hearts
Difficulty: Hard
Woof. Just woof. This did not go well. First off, DAI really doesn't have a true "dirty blonde," just this mustard color which makes the whole shot look overwhelmingly yellow, so much that DA2 Emilia looks washed-out by comparison. I thought the nose was fine, but looking at these shots side by side, something does seem a little off. The hairstyle is acceptable, but its makes her forehead look much larger than the original (modded) hairstyle, and I couldn't really find a way to fix that. Overall it's really the face shape that kills it. DAI does not like round faces. I did my best, and then left her in the Fade where she belongs. (Trust me. It what she deserves.)
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mallory Hawke
World State: Rogues Gallery
Difficulty: Hard
We're starting from modded hair, so we have our work cut out for us here. (Curly hairstyles WHEN. Also modded freckles, but there DAI has us covered.) Unfortunately, I was not able to get a hair mod to work in DAI, so Mal was forced to wear her hair up, which she Would Not. But we make the sacrifices we must. Mallory also has a lot of soft curves to her face, but I'd say she survived the jawbonification a lot better than Emilia did, and where was this nose when I was trying to make Cil? DAI's neon teal eyes are a touch greener but I can let that slide. Overall, I'd say she's still recognizable, even without letting her hair down. That's still my girl.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
(Note: I put all the comparion pictures in side-by-side, but none except the first one will display that way on the dash, and I can't fix it. 🤷‍♀️Sorry.)

Genshin Actor AU; Pt. 2
pt.1 here!
-Xiao is actually very soft-spoken and gentle, but he is one hell of an actor
-He's often seen hanging out with Aether outside of production, or being enthusiastic with Bennett
-"I first saw Xiao while he was acting his role out and thought he was the serious types, when he came up to me and introduced himself with a big smile I nearly dropped my coffee cup!" -Venti
-Qiqi is a hyperactive but quiet child who doesn't really understand the concept of acting but does what she is told and has fun on set
-She keeps running away from poor Hu tao even off set
-She is also very attached to Baizhu off the set
-Childe probably auditioned for every other role except the one he got
-He has also starred in many other shows with Zhongli before and the two had been a ship long back
-To say the Chili fandom went wild when they saw their duo
-The fight against Childe scene also had a lot of retakes because Childe kept dropping his weapon...and his mask...and his other weapon
-Keqing is a big fan of Zhongli in real life as well
-Hu tao auditioned because one of her friends in college dared her to try out
-Chongyun and Xingqiu are youtuber besties popular for their ghost searches and horror stories
-Their fans decided they would be perfect for the role and encouraged them to try out
-Ningguang is actually quite humble and shy in real life, but still very, very rich
-She's usually seen taking the actors out to eat
-Beidou's social media account having enough Kazuha content to rival Albedo's Klee content
-Those two never even met before the show but Beidou adores Kazuha
-Kazuha and Heizou are idols from the same group
-Kazuha and Aether recreating that one spiderman meme that went super viral
-You'd think Childe was the one to drop spoilers the most but no, it's Itto and Lumine
-Itto usually says things by accident or posts selfies of him and there's almost always a spoiler in the background
-Shinobu is now in charge of keeping him in check both in real life and in the show
-Lumine just thinks it's funny
-She takes selfies with new characters and draws over them or makes them hide their faces to keep the fans guessing
-she now gets paid to shut up
-Popular actor Ayaka who convinced her brother to audition as well when she found out the role existed
-Ayato and Thoma are models from the same company and are often seen going out to get drinks together
-Yoimiya was properly taught how to use and make fireworks
-Kujou Sara who's also a long time fan of Ei and is quite excited to work with her
-"I've never played the role of such a serious character before but being devoted to Miss Ei is something I can do easily!" -Sara
-Gorou is scared of dogs lmao
-Cue shenanigans of Itto and Razor trying to help him get over his fear
-Sayu is actually a kid who's naturally talented at understanding roles and such
-She's usually seen taking naps on chairs or other character's arms though
-Cyno is super goofy and fun to be around in real life
-After his character was introduced in the show he posted stories of him making Tighnari laugh to prove to people he's actually funny
-Tighnari posted a story of him explaining that he was laughing out of pity, just to mess with Cyno
-Collei is a dedicated fan of the game and has probably played it the longest amongst everyone, her biggest competition is none other than Ganyu
-Al Haitham is often found reading around the set
-If he's not he's usually hanging out with the quieter ones such as Eula and Yae miko, or with the kids.

Thinking about Phoenix and Trucy’s dynamic in aa5 and aa6 because of a post I reblogged recently (idk if I should link it or not) and man it really is something that majorly pisses me off. Warning this is gonna get pretty anti aa5/aa6. And rambly I am too lazy to properly format and structure this
TLDR Phoenix would be a good father based on his character and how his fatherhood is shown in aa4 but aa5 and aa6 write it incredibly badly
First there’s the kidnapping in 5-5. You could feel they were trying to recreate 2-4 with this case by having someone close to Phoenix get kidnapped to force him to be at a trial and the killer being an assassin. It’s just… not nearly as good. For many reasons but this is about Phoenix and Trucy. One of the reasons farewell my turnabout works so well is that the tension and suspense around Maya’s kidnapping is written incredibly well. The whole cast is constantly worried, especially Phoenix. He’s in an instant panic when he hears Maya’s been kidnapped, and it’s constantly at the forefront of his mind. It’s one of the reasons the case works so well at being anxiety-inducing, you can really feel Phoenix’s fear and anxiety through the entirety of it. He always has thoughts related to Maya and how worried he is, he finds different sources of help (Gumshoe, Edgeworth) to ensure her safety, the entire REASON he goes along with being Engarde’s lawyer at all is because he can’t fathom the idea of Maya getting hurt. When they reunite at the end of the case, he screams her name and cries and the game actually portrays his damn relief
With Trucy ? He has some dialogue when it happens that is basically just “oh no”, then does the trial without even thinking on it again. No blue dialogue nothing. There’s that one moment where Aura threatens to kill her and he does the most empty fucking “nooo don’t hurt her” I’ve ever seen a father do, and that’s kind of it. Then the trial continues like nothing happened and he once again forgets about it, pretty much. And when she comes back at the end of the case, there’s no crying or yelling or anything, just a bland “Trucy are you okay”. The contrast between the two kidnappings is insane
Then there’s the magical turnabout in aa6 and ohh boy it doesn’t get better. I actually like the magical turnabout, idk if that’s unpopular or not, because I found the gameplay and the case fun and I liked what it did for Apollo and Trucy’s relationship. But oh my god do I hate what it does for Phoenix and Trucy’s relationship. Again.
There are some brief frantic phone calls with Apollo at the start and end of the trial and that’s literally it ? I know why they couldn’t have Phoenix just fly back to Japanifornia because of the Khura’in gameplay and all that, but then make the magical turnabout a case in a different game where Phoenix isn’t in another country. The reasoning for him not flying back is that he wouldn’t make it to the first trial day, but it’s not like that’s a problem for Phoenix ? I know “taking a plane the second you hear someone’s in danger” is Edgeworth’s thing but let’s be real Phoenix definitely would be that guy too if he was out of the country regularly and had money. There’s no way he would hear his daughter is getting accused of murder and he would go “well plane tickets are expensive. I can phone her when the trial’s over”. Plus at that point Trucy is 17 ? It really shocked me while I was playing that he only learned about her arrest from the news or something, because I was thinking shouldn’t he have been immediately contacted by the police, seeing as he’s her legal guardian and she’s a minor ? The ace attorney universe doesn’t seem to have laws like minors being tried differently (looking at you Machi Tobaye), but still Jesus Christ.
And this isn’t me arguing Phoenix is a bad father who doesn’t care for Trucy, this is me arguing the writing of aa5 and aa6 is abysmal. How he treats Trucy in those games is completely different than how he treats her in aa4. In aa4, he’s definitely not a perfect father, but you can tell he cares so, so much about her. She’s literally “his light”. One can argue one of the reasons he was willing to forge the ace was because he couldn’t afford to go to prison when he had Trucy to take care of. He states that “he’s the only one who knows how she really feels”, showing how attentive he is to her emotional state (because god knows Trucy isn’t open about her real feelings) and that Trucy trusts him. In short, you can tell he’s a caring and loving father.
I think the problem with how his fatherhood is written in aa5/aa6 is that they didn’t really have time to flesh it out because of how much is always happening in those games (which is a whole other problem of its own), so they elected to give him stereotypical father things. So he shows basic (really basic) worry when she’s in a bad situation, then the game goes “alright we showed he gives a bit of a shit back to the game”. There are also some lines, like the one where Athena makes a joke about Trucy’s diary talking about crushes and Apollo saying if that were the case Phoenix would burst into tears, that kinda just feel like “haha yeah that’s what dads do right ?”. To me it felt like those games didn’t want to focus on them at all but couldn’t ignore that yknow. they’re father and daughter. and so tacked on some lines without really focusing on if it’s in character or not, without making changes to the plot itself to make it less ooc.

Sonic the Hedgehog CD Ending: All action. No words
Stardust Speedway is one of those levels that you think you’d love, what with it clearly being Starlight Zone on steroids, but it just doesn’t fully stick the landing because, you guessed it, the level design is just all over the place. As a general rule of thumb: unless you’re going for the generator then stick to the lowest route since it’s the quickest and simplest. This is quite literally doing the opposite of what Sonic level design usually does but hey, that’s just how Sonic CD rolls I guess
I’ve never been a massive Metal Sonic fan per se. He’s either a non-character, basically just another tool of Eggman’s that only stands out by virtue of his concept, or whatever Heroes attempted to do with him. His design however is something that I absolutely adore. He looks straight up deadly, what with those dark eyes and spickier, sharper design that generally lacks most of Sonic’s own roundness and softness, presenting Metal as something truly dangerous and unfriendly. It’s also a pretty edgy design, perhaps the series’ first truly edgy character, a full 8 years before Shadow, yet he still follows the Classic characters’ overall design aesthetics what with his body proportions. He simultaneously looks in-line with Sonic’s world yet also unnatural to it. His boss fight is also pretty memorable and also perhaps the hardest in the game (though that’s not saying much here), which, alongside him being the one who kidnaps Amy at the starts and whose holograms you can find harassing small animals in the levels, helps to solidify him as an actual rival to Sonic. In fact, despite my thoughts on the character himself, I actually think that he makes for a better potential rival than the likes of Shadow and especially Knuckles, as his status as an Eggman robot built specifically to kill Sonic makes it easy and natural to set up situations where the two would fight without it feeling forced or stupid (just think about how, in Generations, he’s the only rival character whose fight justification doesn’t feel arbitrary, unlike Shadow “I know we’re all in a world without time but instead of trying to get to the bottom of things I’ll try to kill you now just ‘cause” the Hedgehog or Silver “but how can I know you’re the real Sonic? I know! I’ll drop a bunch of junk on your head!” the Hedgehog)
Metallic Madness is the worst stage in the game. Act 1 is fine, but Act 2 features pretty much every single issue in the game but cranked up to 11 because it’s the final level. It’s a giant goddamn mess and no amount of chibi Sonic can make me overlook this. Don’t go to the Past, I swear to God it’s even worse than the other timeframes, I always get lost in the god forsaken place. Man did Mania give this place a much needed makeover!
Fun fact: the original Sega CD version of the ending cutscene actually features sound effects at the start before playing Cosmic Eternity! I’m guessing that the later versions don’t do this because they play at higher framerates so the sound effects would be out of synch
I actually think I like the ending more than the opening: CD doesn’t have the classic all-stage medley during the credits but we actually get to see brief animated recreations of previous stages, and this is where I think that Sonic’s personality really shines, showcasing all the cute, cool and creative ways that he disposes of Badniks. I also like how, in the good ending, more specifically in the later versions, Little Planet disappears but not before emitting a bunch of sparkles that form an image of Sonic, kind of implying that it’s somewhat sentient and it’s thanking Sonic. It’s a nice way to sort of personify a literal world and make your efforts to save it from Eggman’s influence feel all the more worthwhile. Again: Sonic CD is able to give character and personality not through words but through actions

hello there! first of all i wanna thank you for your translations of the side stories! we get so little about b komachi and I found it really fascinating to see that some of the lyrics from idol seem to have been lifted from 45510 especifically. ( could be mistaken, haha)
but in any case, there's a particular outfit of Ai's that you tag as beautiful dreamer, at first I had only seen this outfit in cosplay websites and I was skeptical of it even being anything more than an effort to sell more costumes. I was wondering if you knew what official art it is from? I'd love to see the original picture, cuz as hard as I try I don't seem to be able to find it!
even if you don't have i still thank u lots for all the theories and analyses you've been sharing here! ( not enough people talk about ai being neurodivergent and the ai on stage being a mask)
thanks!!!!
ANON THIS WAS SUCH A LOVELY ASK TO WAKE UP TO, THANK U SO MUCH 🥺 Honestly it has been years since I actively took part in a Big Fandom enough to contribute meta so knowing that people are enjoying reading my thoughts about this silly little series is kind of mindblowing to me lol. Ai's neurodivergence and the way it factors into the way she navigates the world is suuuuuuuch a key foundational part of understanding her (at least imo) so it makes me glad to see people are vibing with me talking about it so explicitly.
You are correct, tho! IDOL's lyrics are directly based on 45510 and parts of Ai's dialogue scattered around the first volume of the manga - it's always kind of a surprise when I go back through it and I'm like oh my god right, yosasobi just came for the THROAT with some of these lines!!! I've been working on my own TL of 45510 just to keep myself occupied and I've been having a lot of fun trying to make my translations of those lines actually scan to the appropriate lines of IDOL hehehe.
To answer your question tho! That particular Ai design is an official alt outfit/AU design for the Lies and Ai (展 嘘とアイ) exhibition and collab cafe that was held in Japan!
Tumblr media
As you can see, everyone got a cute, mahou shoujo inspired look as a tie in.
You can read a little more information about it in this news article but it was basically a little art installation based around Oshi no Ko where certain iconic scenes and outfits from the anime's first episode were recreated for folks to see and a collab cafe with character-themed foods was also hosted. If you'd like to get an idea of what the exhibition looks like, happyuchannel (who does a lot of videos on OnK events in Japan!) has a video about their visit where they show off the parts they were allowed to photograph and some of the merch they got.
The reason I tag this as 'Beautiful Dreamer' is because I run a magical girl AU roleplay called Beautiful Dreamer over on Dreamwidth and Ai is one of the characters I play there! By total coincidence, this art dropped like the day after I decided to play her there and had to work out a mahou look for her and then I guess the universe rewarded me for good decision making LOL
("Claire is this a transparent ploy to get people to come over to Dreamwidth and play in your mahou game?" Of Course It Is)
Unfortunately there aren't any full/high quality images of the art anywhere that I know if since it exists just for the collab cafe but I imagine that when an art book specific to the anime inevitably drops, we'll get full spreads of a lot of the collab cafe/promo art.
BONUS: Here's what those mahou Ai standees look like in real life. Aren't they cute?
Tumblr media
("claire how many ai standees do you–" normal amount.)

Evie x Aiden gaming headcanons
As requested by @inlocusmads, here are some of my gaming related headcanons for Evie and Aiden. Many of these are actually some of my oldest headcanons, back from when I first got into Choices. Here's what I've got as of now:
Evie:
Evie is more of a casual gamer, but she does have a lot of games she enjoys. Minecraft, Super Mario 64 DS, Mario Kart DS, and Among Us are some of her biggest favorites. And also a couple of oddly satisfying mobile games. And whatever the Choices universe equivalent to Choices and HSS Prime is.
Evie was also a major frequenter of sites like CoolMath during 4th-6th grade and she still enjoys them. Some of her favorites includes Sushi Cat, Papa's Pizzaria/Taco Mia/Burgeria/etc., Bloons + Bloons Tower Defense, and Fireboy and Watergirl. Luckily she does get a chance to show them to Aiden before the end of Adobe Flash.
Aiden:
Aiden is utter crap at computer games. The only ones he's good at are stuff like Smule Magic Piano (which Evie would struggle with more) and Minecraft creative mode.
And 75% of Aiden's Minecraft-playing is composing or recreating songs with the note blocks.
He sometimes does Minecraft Survival mode but the only way he can really last is if Evie's in the world with him and they're working together.
He barely manages Mario Kart, but can't drift for shit.
He openly insults Fortnite.
Sometimes he'll go into a game like Mario Party thinking it'll be easy, only to be absolute dogshit at it.
Yes, Aiden is even crap at Tetris. His screen legit looked like this on his first attempt at the game.
He is not a fan of Among Us (despite that he willingly played "Mafia" on the boat in after-prom). To him, it's just people "running around and blaming each other". He especially hates being the imposter because, in his own words from the Mafia game, "I can't lie to save my life".
Actually I think Aiden would be pretty good at stuff like Interactive Story games like Evie does too.
Myra is always teasing him about how bad he is at most video games and often likes to mention his least favorites to annoy him.
Evie: "Aiden you're usually very dexterous when it comes to instruments, but you're bad at video games?" Aiden: "Playing the piano and playing on a gaming console are two completely different things."
Both of them:
Evie and Aiden regularly have double dates with Nishan and Sakura where they play 2-on-2 video games, usually battlegrounds-style games. Their rounds are of course very short-lived because Aiden is crap at the games, but they're still fun nonetheless.
I haven't played it myself yet but I can totally see the two of them getting into Fall Guys. Evie likes the cute fall guy avatars.
Evie (with some minimal help from Aiden) trying to design a sort of a big fancy "dream house" for them in Minecraft.
Something something they squee over Minecraft cats together a lot
Evie would try to teach Aiden a lot of the video games she's good at. He'd slowly improve at most of them.
The two of them totally obsess over video games with awesome soundtracks, even if they haven't played the games themselves. But it sometimes may lead them to getting into the games. Eg. Evie loves the soundtracks for the Super Mario Galaxy games, she'd show it to Aiden and they'd obsess over them, and at one point or another, they'd feel compelled to buy the games.
I think a habit both of them would also have in certain video games is: they start a game, but if the soundtrack is really good, they'll just make their character do nothing or run around aimlessly in it so that they can keep the music + sound effects going on because they don't want it to stop. They do this a LOT with Mecha Bowser battle in Super Mario Galaxy 1.
I think they'd sometimes use app versions of classic board games (chess, checkers, etc).
They'd definitely enjoy puzzle games like minesweeper. They're each pretty good at the puzzle games on their own, but it's extra fun to work on them together. Also Aiden sitting in Evie's lap while they play the games.

Hey there 👋😄
As per the Star Trek ask game:
🖖🌀❤️🖊️
Oooh hi hi! :D thanks for the ask, these were fun ones to think about.
🖖 First Trek media you encountered?
I have a few early Star Trek memories but I can't quite remember which came first. (I know they all happened at @severeannoyance 's house tho!) I think it was mostly likely TOS episode The Trouble With Tribbles, but it also might have been Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. I do distinctly remember that my first episode of TNG was Qpid tho :P
🌀 If the holodeck was real, what would be the first thing you'd use it for?
Gosh there are so many possibilities it's hard to say. I think I'd love to use it to see some non-Earth natural wonders I've never been before. Also would honestly probably recreate my childhood home so that I could visit it sometimes. I'm a deeply nostalgic & sentimental person so being able to effectively revisit memories would be very tempting.
❤️ Your ST comfort character/s.
I'd say Worf is definitely one of them. I don't necessarily relate to him but I just love him a lot :P Also really love Tilly from Discovery!
🖊️ Do you have a favourite quote from ST?
I know it's a really popular one but its one I'm still trying to internalize, from Captain Picard: "It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not weakness; that is life."

Me: /sees today's yesterday's prompt
Me: /maniacal cackling
Me: YOU FOOL, YOU’VE ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD
aka AUs, Time Travel, and identity shenanigans are my biggest interests in any fandom at all so KH drew me in for a reason. This will be fun. Enjoy or suffer through my rambling about my main AU. I apologize for the length, but there’s a reason I had the immediate reaction I did.
Also sorry it’s a day late, yesterday was thesis presentations and then I was dragged out to drinks and karaoke after by my classmates so I didn’t have time to finish this.
@khoc-week Day 4: Alternate Universes
Hahahaha my first KH au I made when I was 15 and then spiraled WILDLY out of control after KHUX finished and DR happened.
So this au started as one of those “what if someone from our world died and reincarnated as a main character” fics that were so popular in the 2010’s, but over time it changed significantly. The main premise is still the same, girl from our world dies to a Heartless that really shouldn’t have been there and her heart makes a conveniently timed connection with Ven, and then reincarnates as Sora. Except it’s not quite as convenient as it seems because Kingdom Hearts itself is meddling.
Because her heart was actually Etheria’s.
This is my biggest KH au that’s lasted almost ten years now, it’s extremely self-indulgent and I keep making adjustments to it as we get new info, but I think I have it plotted out solidly. It’s also the one that’s technically canon to my keykids.
So, KHUX happens as it does, no real changes beyond Etheria and Ephemera finishing up Game Central Station together and coming back to Daybreak Town in time to trigger the finale. Etheria traps the darknesses in the tunnel, they wound her fatally, she dies holding Chirithy, etc.
The change comes with what’s next. Because Nomura BAITED US and I had an entire year to sit on my plans before the Dark Road finale dropped and ruined them all, and I decided “screw it, I can work around this”. And kind of. Threw out canon to a degree.
Yiskah is reincarnated after the Keyblade War as the Missing Link protag, so whatever reveals we get there will be his story. Etheria reincarnates as Xehanort, because I had PLANS NOMURA. So ML happens, Yiskah takes Xehanort to Destiny Islands, all of this will probably follow canon pretty closely. Dark Road also happens as canon, Xehanort having Etheria’s heart doesn’t really change much because these events “need” to happen. Whether it’s Darkness pulling the strings or KH itself… who knows. But DR happens pretty much as canon, and the post-events are where we get our first major split into AU territory.
When Xehanort goes on his lonesome trip around the worlds, trying to gain perspective, it starts as canon with him meeting MoM. But afterwards, when he returns to the Keyblade Graveyard, it’s not the Master of Masters that’s waiting for him but our single unaccounted for Darkness. His trip through the worlds was supposed to make him fall to darkness, make him decide to recreate the war, but because he has Etheria’s heart he… doesn’t. So Darkness takes matters into its own hands and tries to take him over. Naturally he fights back, refuses to let it, so it decides the more optimal route would be to simply remove that problematically light heart and simply claim his body for itself and pretend to be him.
So that happens. He dies, and it’s Darkness in his body who returns to Scala to take the Mark of Mastery with Eraqus, and kick off the next phase of canon.
Etheria/Xehanort’s heart ends reincarnating as a girl on a sort of… reflection of our world, losing their memories upon reincarnating as is supposed to happen, and growing up to be a fan of a certain video game series until dying to a Heartless who was drawn specifically to their heart because Events Are Happening (Ven just got his heart broken and Kingdom Hearts needs someone to go fix it, and who better than an old friend and its valiant champion? Etheria surviving the Keyblade War and her heart touching KH directly in the process was not a good thing for her, just to point that out.) So her heart comes in contact with Ven, shares part of it to fix his, and in the process kind of breaks the usual reincarnation rules so she keeps her memories of this past life, and the thus the memories of the Kingdom Hearts game series.
So at this point: Alana becomes Sora and knows absolutely nothing about being Etheria or Xehanort, but does remember being from “our world”. The Xehanort of this AU is just Darkeness using his identity to push the plot it read in the Book, because that’s What’s Supposed To Happen. For the sake of ~Drama~ I’m going to say she’s caught up to canon for everything except the Final Update of KHUX. To everyone who remembers that cliffhanger they did between the first half of the finale and the second… yeah. Imagine dying and reincarnating into that universe missing HALF THE FINALE OF KHUX and over half of Dark Road. It is endlessly frustrating to them, Ven, and Vani.
From here canon… happens similarly, but also different.
KH1 has Riku being possessed much earlier because Sora convinces him to come back, and Maleficent and Ansem SoD don't like that. Kairi and Ven are both awake and helping, so there's that. Kairi is part of the final battle as an active keyblade wielder, even if she gets pulled home after.
CoM happens very differently because Vanitas is awake with Ven gone in Roxas, so he's Solana's companion while Namine can see Alana's memories and knows far more than she should because of it. She finds so many loopholes to allow Alana to keep memories of CoM, even if Sora's have to be broken later.
KH2 has Xion and Roxas awake and joining Ven and Vani, and things get loud. Roxas takes every chance to try to fight the Organization, drive forms are between the Heart Hotel rather than Donald and Goofy, and Kairi joins the party halfway through after kicking Axel through a wall. She joins them for the final fight against Xemnas too, and then opens the portal for them home.
Solana is busy having a guilt-induced breakdown about their parents never coming back from the islands falling to darkness to participate in Re:Coded, but they do meet the apprentices and start making peace between them and the Restoration Committee when they show back up. They and Ienzo get along... really really well, to their surprise.
DDD is a mess, because the dream world gives the Heart Hotels bodies and they are actively participating in the Mark of Mastery along with Sora, Riku, and Kairi. Ienzo was paranoid enough to make a secondary link with Solana before it started, so when Yen Sid lost contact with them Ienzo could make link so they could see everything happening. Canon happens and it SUCKS. Solana has much trauma from YMX.
KH3 is wildly different, because People Know Things, and Death Deities Are Weird Around Solana (aka Hades and Persephone are closer to their myth forms, and make a deal with Solana about nine death avoidances for a favor, so they only use the power of waking once at the end rather than to save everyone), and Aqua and Ven are rescued before Arendelle so they've got half the game to catch their breath before the war.
And because Darkness is Xehanort, the scene with Eraqus is very different because Solana flat out steals the keyblade from Xehanort at the end of their battle - the same way Riku does from Sora in KH1 - and stabs him with it. No soft scene here, just murder. Eraqus does show up, reassuring Aqua and Terra, but Kairi and Ven swapped places in this AU as the sacrificial being of Pure Light, so... it's much rougher on the Wayfinder Trio. Solana gets him back, though, ala canon, but that's the tenth revival after the first nine so they will disappear eventually, it just won't be immediate since they only did it once. Gives them time to hang out, get Ienzo to put some cameras in the Graveyard to catch the Foreteller meetup, do a heart dive to figure out their weird dreams and accidentally get their memories of KHUX and DR both back to the shock and horror of everyone, and then disappear.
I want you to know that this is the short version, because the longer version accidentally turned into a plot outline.

Five Nights at Freddy's Movie: The Core of a Masterpiece Trapped in an Awkward Shell
No Spoiler Version: I really liked the movie. It has an incredibly strong thematic core about being trapped by the past and how that can cloud and destroy your present and future despite it being subtler than usual about that. The main characters feel surprisingly grounded and it knows when to cut loose a bit with the atmosphere for the sake of its storytelling. It's actually an incredibly compelling family drama.
It is not a horror movie though except for its last MAYBE twenty percent. It's much more interested in moody introspection and exploring the main character than trying to scare the audience. If not for the finale, it'd arguably just be using horror elements to help hammer in home the toxic relationship with the past. But this is a Five Nights at Freddy's movie so it needs to be horror and most of the awkward elements of the movie are tied to having to either fit into that genre or to have to bend to franchise lore rather than allowing the conclusion that would be thematically satisfying.
It's done with enough with enough charisma to allow the awkward elements to roll off me for the most part and I still liked the ending even if it wasn't thematically strong. It's a very good and I think people are dismissing it as campy and the like just because it does have those awkward elements when the core story, and how it's told, are pretty serious minus one or two scenes. So yeah, check it out!
Spoilers after my page break.
====== +++++ ======
So let's start with the strongest element and the core of the movie: Mike's journey and arc in general is very compelling to me but there's not a lot to spoil besides the genuinely nice element that it's subtle. It takes a while to realize the theme they're going for with it and I didn't fully click on it until the thematic climax. When he realizes that by focusing on the past, he'll lose another sibling just like he did before.
But that's actually the ingenuity of his dreams. Because he has a sympathetic desire on the face of it, wanting to stop a person who kidnaps children and bring them to justice, he feels kind of justified at first. It's something you'd honestly like to see put right... But it's still revenge. It's still prioritizing the harm of the past instead of even trying to move on and focus on that which in the present you care about.
And thus the thematic finale of the movie is when Mike realizes that and rebels against the ghost children and they try to kill him. His escape is his victory and weirdly enough, it makes it so that following closer to the games... Would have been more satisfying. Mike burns down Freddy's at the end of the first game. Even Afton early on in the movie says the owner isn't willing to let it go so it technically holds a toxic grip on more than just Mike and he would have rid the world of an overall toxic blight from the past on the world and the children within who have decided that eternal play is worth any price. Not willing to let go of the fun they had here and so trying to recreate that memory until it all turns to smoke.
You did see I mentioned Afton though, right? Well, yeah, this is a FNAF movie and Afton is the mustache twirling hyper bad guy of the series, complete with slasher levels of strength and invulnerability while in the Springtrap suit (the movie implies he is still alive WEEKS after being impaled three times into his side). We get him extremely early on without his name as a career counselor that gets Mike the job and there's actually some good foreshadowing there of him knowing Mike and having kidnapped his brother which as far as I can tell, besides the fact that Freddy's doesn't burn, is probably the largest departure from the games but I don't know cause I haven't kept up since Sister Location and I never read any of the books. But then he's just gone for what at least feels like almost an hour.
And then they bring him back as the uber villian. The mastermind of it all. The only reason the children would hurt ANYONE which... is questionable with how the movie portrays them. But he can make them hurt anyone because of honeyed and a single picture on the wall that hides the truth! If it had been built up and this story was more about control and manipulation and the trauma we gain from those trying to wrangle us, it could have worked. His daughter is a main character in the movie and does talk about how how he raised her having left scars that we're supposed to cheer for her overcoming when she comes in the end... And mostly stalls for time because her contribution is minimal except to give Mike an arsenal to fight with AFTER the thematic climax happens.
That's right: Mike's arc ends and then we get a like five minute exposition dump on Afton while his sister is abducted by Golden Freddy so Afton can have another spirit child doing his bidding. It's actually done well enough to not be awful but it is a HARD slam on the breaks and because this whole movie has struggled as a horror movie, it's not finally getting the answer to beating the slasher villain or the monster, it's a weird pivot that the movie never really recovers from, even if when Afton shows up in the Springtrap suit, his movements and the framing are creepy as hell. Then he takes off the helmet and it's far less unfortunately as he becomes purely a dude in a mech suit.
He isn't the only problem element but the other one works better for the family focus of the movie. You can also see why it exists from a horror perspective because the problem with a FNAF movie conceptually is that the security guard is the main character and you can't just kill him. So little to no body count until the end. So how do you fix that?
With an evil aunt who wants Mike's sister just for that sweet sweet government money and the people she hires on the cheap to wreck Freddy's. It honestly feels like one of those 90s kids movie plots that people mock nowadays where the only motivation is greed and everyone is an idiot. Plus side, besides Max, the sequence is FUN. It's pure B horror, probably influenced by it allowing the movie to effectively do a bunch of the scares from the games because every kill on this group besides the last (which is... Bizarre in how it's done honestly and definitely meant to be comedic despite being properly built up horror) is done in a forward facing, first person jump scare. It's literally just like one of the games and as someone who was a fan I really liked that actually.
It also theoretically could have tied into other elements better. The aunt's custody case is built up as why Mike would stay for five nights. That he needs the job or he loses his sister. It is explicitly what forces him to take the job... but the conflict is he doesn't do nights because that's when he's doing his dream stuff and even at Freddy's he's slacking on the job for the sake of continuing his dream stuff because again: He's letting the present die to chase the past. Which works... But it doesn't feel like it pays off in any way either because of it. The aunt doesn't even get a jumpscare kill or anything like that to justify it as she's killed off screen by Golden Freddy, though at least we do get to see her legs to confirm she died.
And that's kind of overall my problem with the movie. The original story it's telling in the middle is actually pretty good and compelling and it has the proper build and payoff you want in a story. However, everything tied to serving the franchise or the horror elements, don't have that. They either get built up but then have no thematic conclusion or they don't have that build up and so their themes can't feel like they naturally fit into the story, even if there's an attempt.
It makes me wonder if there's a version of this, divorced from Freddy's, that could have been a masterpiece. Something horror fans genuinely keep with themselves than the novelty that I think most people are treating it. Then again, maybe I liked it for how much it's not a horror film because I'm not a horror fan for the most part.
But I DID like it and I think it's genuinely a really good movie, just don't expect it to be super campy like I had it built up as or very scary like one might expect from a horror movie. It only uses those elements as it has to and you can feel that, for better and for worse.
