tecchou is that one kid who raises their hand in class and gets everything wrong

Ah, yes. My abandoned careerfest fic. Thank you to @teledild0nix for the tag! I’m glad to finally have an excuse to share some of the pettiness in this (in a way)WIP. For context, the prompt was Wedding Officiant/Wedding Planner.

Next came Potter, the ever-present thorn in his side and the ex-boyfriend of Bride 2.

He was awaiting Draco at his first appointment, hands shoved deep in the pockets of his jeans, wild hair tucked into a black hoodie, looking murderous and tan and stupid as ever. It made Draco feel a bit better about his tattered jumper and khakis–one of the two pairs of trousers he owned.

Pansy conveniently forgot to tell him that Potter would not only be officiating the wedding (Everyone loves a bit of blasphemy, Draco! Who better to act as our priest than the Savior of the world?) he would also be advising Draco regarding Ginevra’s taste during the planning process.

They argued many, many times, about everything aside from the things that truly mattered.

They argued at the florists because Draco thought gardenias would be the most tasteful choice, but lilies were Ginevra’s favorite flower—not once did it occur to either of them to put them in a bouquet together—until the elderly Muggle woman running the place screamed at them and threatened to call the poll lease if they kept going at it, whatever that was.

“You always have to be right, don’t you, Malfoy?” Potter screamed from across the street, the two of them divided by the flow of traffic lest their words turn to fists. His next insults were muffled by a passing tour bus, but Draco assumed they were something along the lines of, ‘Same stupid git,’ and ‘Fucking gardenias. You would pick those, you prick,’ and ‘I’m just angry because you’re devastatingly handsome in ways that I’m not.’

“Do you always plan your ex-girlfriend’s weddings?” Draco yelled back, loving the chance to be petty after being around Muggles for so long, where all he felt was repentant.

“No, do you?” Potter replied, because Draco conveniently forgot about that period where he and Pansy thought shagging would ignite some sort of spark between them, when all it did was make them extremely uncomfortable talking about sex in front of one another.

Prying questions were the source of most of the conflicts between him and Potter. Draco was insecure about his lack of a wand whenever Potter took his out. When Draco asked Potter why he and Ginevra had broken up in the first place, all Potter said was, “Wouldn’t you like to know,” before running off with his metaphorical tail between his legs.

They argued at the caterers, during the venue tour, at the card-maker, the linen shop, and nearly resorted to fisticuffs at the second florist. If the place had good acoustics, they fought. But, they also got things done.

“There’s no way in hell anyone is going to eat a fucking lemon cake. There will be children at this wedding.” Potter raged in that icy way of his, arms crossed in the corner of the shop like the hypothetical, lemon-hating children he was defending, “You tried the honey-vanilla cake. That one was clearly the winner here.”

“Lemon is refined. Lemon is refreshing. Lemon won’t leave you clutching your stomach on the dance floor. Case and point.” Draco shot back.

“Boys, boys!” Cassandra, the baker, held up her hands, effectively silencing the room, “Harry, now, you want a classic cake, yes? Sweet, palatable to all? And Draco, you want something light-weight and fresh. I can do a vanilla cake, to appease the masses, and we can make a nice, fruity frosting. Strawberry, raspberry, passion fruit. Anything like that.”

Draco and Potter stared at her, waiting for her to stop talking, so they could continue arguing, because that was a lot more fun than finding solutions.

Cassandra just sighed, rolled her eyes, and seemed to make the decision for them, “Vanilla and raspberry, then.”

Turns out, two people with very loud opinions about what they wanted spurred strangers to suggest a resolution—or threaten to call the police, which Potter explained were Muggle Aurors—and the end result turned out pretty great.

With Ginevra’s salary as a star Quidditch rookie, the couple could afford a pretty lavish affair. Draco and his sidekick (“Don’t call me that,”) found the loveliest venue: a converted art gallery now being used as an event space, with high, arched ceilings and glittering chandeliers, their reflection sending gold shimmers across the walls. It would be easy to rearrange the chairs from the ceremony in order to use the same space for the reception, which was convenient, and there was a trendy cocktail bar right next door in case anyone wanted to keep the party going elsewhere.

Pansy was ecstatic, Ginevra was happy that Pansy was happy, and Draco and Potter were just thankful it was over.

So I have a question for you. In your opinion, which would be the fittest class for being each tieflings batchelor partner?

My best friend and I were playing bg3 yesterday (both sipping for Dammon so the conversation was more focused on him) and the question came out.

My bf defended that for our fav blacksmith a paladin would be the best option for going on a date. Cause they're usually loyal to their beliefs, tend to have a kind nature and they're always in need of good armor and weapons. It was paladin for her.

But I differ. I firmly believe that a nice ✨Bard✨ would be the correct answer. And here's why:

1. Dammon is a kind, polite and (probably) organised soul. Most bards have chaotic energy. I believe that a bard partner would be a nice influence on him and vice-versa. He calming his partner when they get too overexcited and them trying to get him out of his comfort zone.

2. They're both artists in a way. I think that a bard would admire and see the beauty in Dammon's job. Maybe even getting curious about it, ask him questions and see him work. He would be so happy. And also Dammon would admire and enjoy the Bard's music, singing, drawing, etc. (whatever bardic gift you got people, it doesn't matter to him. He'll love it)

3. We all know Dammon reads smut and I sincerely cannot picture a more smut reading class than a bard. Like I can perfectly see the scene of the bard discovering "A pleasurable deal" (I think that's the name of it, if not I apologise) and being totally chill about it, read a few pages with all the calm in the world and Dammon finding them out, grabbing the book terribly ashamed of it... Just to see them mock him a little bit to finally say "Hey and if when you finished with it you need any recommendations I have a few that might interest you". (Insert all the fantasy young adult with spice novels here)

And finally but not last:

4. (And this is a more personal one) I have the personal belief that if you play a bard you are personifying the need of a traumatised being who always tries to feel better through music and a charismatic behaviour while being in need of a found family even if you're in denial. I might be wrong, it might be me who plays bards this way but it's just a single theory I have.

But guess what, we're having a Bard here. And what better option to have a family with than Dammon.

This is actually a very fun question because I've never actually thought about matching people based on classes.

I agree with both of you that either a paladin or a bard would definitely work well with Dammon thematically. However, I raise the option of him being with an artificer. While I love opposites attract tropes, Dammon is a fiercely proud and passionate man, his dedication to his work is enough to scare off almost anyone. So, who would work best with such a wonderful but independent man? Someone who understands his thinking on a fundamental level. An artificer that knows what it is to be an artisan, to dedicate yourself to 'making', to spend late nights working on various blueprints. I just feel like he'd work well with someone that understands him and doesn't fault his dedication to his work.

For Zevlor, I'm a big supporter of the Zevlor x cleric idea. I feel like as a paladin, having him with a cleric just works so well thematically. He's a paladin who believes himself to be disgraced and what's better to help 'bring him back to the light' and support him other than someone else that understands his relationship with his patron god and his intense need to protect everyone. It's easier to accept help from someone that you feel understands your issues, and I feel like being with a cleric just really suits Zevlor.

Rolan with a sorcerer. That's it. Imagine the sass, the cat fights, the endless bickering before they even realise they're attracted to each other. Rolan definitely does the whole 'sorcerors just can't control their magic and tried to make it a thing', specially with a wild magic user. It never quite ends either, even after years of seeing each other Cal and Lia still walk in on their little sarcasm spats. I don't feel like there's a deeper reason to this, other than the fact I feel like Rolan had very little guidance in learning magic (much like a sorcerer might) and is doing a bit of light projection to start with.

So here's my humble opinions, I'd love to hear everyone else's and I hope everyone is having a lovely day <3

Ask Game! OKAY SO I know this is asking for one specific character, buuuut I'm going to go through more than one character haha. To start;

Toph!

I was just talking about Toph in a server a couple of days ago, and I feel like people mischaracterize her a lot, but I kinda don't blame them! Toph is kind of a tricky character to write! But I read so many fics that just boil her down to "tough girl who doesn't take shit and bullies everyone" and like, yes, there is some truth to that, but she is also so much more! She's soft, she listens, she's genuinely a kind, good friend, despite her rough demeanor! There's a reason Sokka opens up for the first time about his mother with Toph.

Azula!

I adore Azula to bits, I love her, I want to see her get better and get another chance, but man, I hate how people lately have been woobifying the crap out of her lately (this happens to Iroh and Zuko too!!). I seen an argument on TikTok that Azula had a right to mortally wound Aang because it was SELF DEFENSE?! I thought OP was joking, but uh, nope, they were completely serious haha. You can't say you love 'problematic' characters only to try and make them 'unproblematic' as possible!

Aang!

I noticed that there's some people that hate Aang with a passion, so much so, that they'll try to paint him out as this sexist, abusive person/partner/father, and it bugs the hell out of me. Kind of makes me laugh a little too, seeing how powerful the haterism is towards this fictional 12 year old boy. This discourse especially gets worse when TLOK gets thrown into the mix and people try to paint him as a 'deadbeat' father, and some even try to compare him to Ozai?? It grosses me out, and the 'deadbeat' part is far from the truth! Words have meaning and weight to them, people!

Sokka!

Had to throw my fav in here of course. Here's the thing, people will either characterize Sokka as being nothing more than a dumb jokester, or they'll acknowledge that he's smart, but completely forget that he's incredibly grump, sarcastic, and skeptical which can lead him to be borderline cynical, especially in S1! There's also the whole "Sokka didn't really love his mom" discourse and, not to sound dramatic, but it makes me want to rip my hair out LMAO. I personally think that Sokka is one of the most interesting characters in ATLA and it kinda sucks seeing people gloss over him so much.

URSA!

Now this might be my most controversial take lmao. Before I start, I'm not saying Ursa was a perfect parent, and I wont be talking about the comics in this part, just strictly the show. But at this point, I almost feel like an Ursa defender because people greatly misinterpret her character and try to paint her to be just as bad as Ozai, especially when Azula is thrown into the mix. I'm sorry y'all, but I don't agree with the "Ursa was a 'boy' mom and favorited Zuko and abused Azula" takes. I don't think this was the case at all, and her relationship with Azula is so much more complex than that. People tend to forget that A) This was all Ozai's doing, he saw Azula as a weapon and put a wedge between her and the rest of her family (specifically Zuko and Ursa) and B) Ursa was also abused. She was an abused woman, trapped in a horrible situation, and wasn't left with a lot of great options or freedom.

Anyways I could talk about this all day with pretty much the rest of the Gaang, but I'll try and keep this from getting too long haha! AND AS ALWAYS, I don't want any discourse! I am always open for discussion! I love reading other peoples takes and I am always willing to change my views!

I'VE WAITED ALL DAY TO COME HOME FROM A 10 HR SHIFT TO DO THIS SO DON'T MIND IF I FUCKING DO @seradyn

Karl Heisenberg

First impression: I thought he was going to play a significant role in RE8, perhaps even fall into the trope where he's truly the Big Bad (TM) versus Mother Miranda. I think I got that impression because Karl always came across as smarter than he lets on. Either way, I knew I was gonna fucking love this dude. Does he look like trash? Yep. Does he hold a grudge? Yep. Sign me up!

Impression now: CAPCOM YOU FUCKED UP. WHY DIDN'T YOU UTILIZE THIS GUY FURTHER IN THE DAMN PLOT?! WHY DIDN'T HE AND ETHAN PARTNER UP?!

That's seriously my biggest gripe when it comes to Karl, he's a great character that didn't get used to his full potential. I mean, sure that gives fanfic writers such as myself a lot to play with and makeup, but he deserved better. Karl's character was fucking fun. I could tell his motion capture and VO artist had a great time playing hobo metal man (Neil Newbon you sold it, mother fucker).

Seriously, Karl is hot trash but he's my hot trash. I'll defend him all the way.

Favorite Moment: In every scene Karl is in, he just steals the damn show. I always enjoy the scene where he confronts Ethan with partnering up (Ethan, you should've taken the hobo's hand) and goes on a verbal rampage about the other lords and how much he despises Miranda. You can feel his passion and hate for what's become of his life, and even sense how desperate he is to get out of it by any means necessary.

Idea for a story: I've been working on a story with Karl called The Sacrifice that takes place years before the events of RE8. Karl falls in love with a gal named Sonja Ainsley, and this pushes him to wanting to break free from the village and Miranda's clutches.

The story is on hiatus, but I intend to finish it when I get the motivation again. I love him and Sonja very much.

Unpopular Opinion: For all his bravado, Karl is sensitive and cautious deep down. I’ve read many stories where is unyielding and very sexual (ngl I indulge in that cause I’m nasty like everyone else on here lol) but given the abuses he has endured, I think he would be quite reluctant to indulge himself with someone until several layers were peeled back and his partner gained his trust.

Favorite Relationship: I ship Karl with happiness. I don’t care if it’s an OC, Reader, Canon, etc. etc. etc. I just want this fucking hob goblin to feel like he’s on top of the world and has support. I love reading material where he gets to just fucking live and be happy.

Favorite headcanon: Karl is quite good at making jewelry pieces.

Karl is artistically inclined and enjoys sketching, and doodling. He keeps most of his pieces to himself since he considers having a hobby like that could lead him to being taken advantage of (he’s kind of a victim of toxic masculinity there in that regard, where “men can’t like things like the arts without being seen as less than”).

Karl struggled with reading well into his early 20s, but he taught himself and is quite fond of novels (Sonja helps him there in The Sacrifice, and he likes Pride and Predjudice).

Moreau and he watch TV together, and they get invested and I do mean invested to the point where they both yell and scream at the characters on TV for fucking up.

Ardyn Izunia/Lucis Caelum

First Impression: I want to preface by saying that my late grandmother bestowed upon me the knowledge to protect myself from peculiar people. She told me to never trust a man who has shaved off his eyebrows and never trust a man that wears a tunic. All her wisdom couldn’t prepare me for what the fuck to do about a man who wears over 5 layers of clothing, and looks like a homeless guy who walked into a thrift shop and picked out every item that screamed, “Hi there, I’m Johnny Depp.” I’m frightened, but I gotta follow my principles: does he look like trash? Check. Does he hold a grudge? Check. Okay everyone…let’s pray….

Impression now: Your honor, I love him. I love his quirkiness. I love his humor. I love his mannerisms. I love his darkness. I love his imperfections. I love his humanity and lack thereof. I love his daemon form. I love his charisma. I love how he carries himself. I love his ambition. I love how unsettling he can be. I love his wild hair. I love his piercing eyes. I love how he used to love and care for others. I love how he tried to hold onto himself despite failing. I love how he’s unapologetic. I love his faults. I love his flaws. I love that I see bits of myself in him. I love his bloodlust. I love his taunts. I love his sarcasm. I love how tragic his story is. I love how unyielding he can be. I love him. Break me off a piece of that Kit-Kat bar.

Favorite Moment: Pretty much everything he is in. However I adore his entire appearance in the Lestallum chapter. You can tell he’s clearly up to shit, but can’t necessarily prove it. Hell, I even felt bad for judging him after he goes through the trouble of saving everyone’s ass in a later part of that section. I even had a moment of second guessing.

Idea for a story: I already wrote an Ardyn x OC (Caelan) story called Immortal Shield. I wanted to give Ardyn a happier ending, and explore his character if he were resurrected years after the final battle with Noctis (went with the Dawn of the Future ending). I think it turned out okay.

Cause I am not over him by any means, I’m working on a Ardyn x Reader story. It takes place two years before the events of the game. I’m 10 chapters in thus far.

Unpopular Opinion: Ardyn is one of the best FF villains in the franchise. I’ve seen people complain about him being lackluster as a character (from his quirks/backstory, to the final battle cause he didn’t have a ‘final form’). Then there’s the camp that sees the adoration fans have for him and go, “tragic guy does tragic and terrible things and people make excuses for him”. I mean…yeah, to a degree? But what makes me still stand by my statement is the fact that unlike most FF villains: the guy actually fucking wins. We are talking about a man who spent YEARS and I mean fucking YEARS plotting, wearing various masks, and lining up pieces to ensure he would FINALLY get to rest in peace after all the shit he had been forced to endure. That is dedication and shows how he’s so damn dangerous and intelligent. A man that can bide his time for thousands of years isn’t someone to fuck around with.

Favorite Relationship: Ardyn x Aera. Those two deserved happiness and peace. I also ship him with OCs, other canon characters, and readers/inserts. I love stories where no matter who it’s with, he is appreciated and cherished.

Favorite headcanon: Ardyn’s love language is gift-giving. If he sees something that reminds him of someone, he’ll get it for them or even try his hand at making the thing himself if he wants to go the extra mile. Getting a gift from him says A LOT, and the people around him know it’s kind of a big fucking deal.

Being a former healer, he’s very much in tune with people’s emotions that it’s almost like a 6th sense. Even being corrupted by the star scourge, he can never truly tune that part of himself out. He uses this natural gift to manipulate others to get ahead.

Since sweets like chocolate and other delicacies were rare and quite expensive 2,000 years ago, Ardyn takes full advantage of modern decadence. The man’s got candy everywhere.

Muffins: Enneagram Analysis

The Enneagram of Personality, or simply the Enneagram, is a model of the human psyche which is principally understood and taught as a typology of nine interconnected personality types. There are nine types, each with their own adjacent wings and tritypes. The enneagram relates back to your childhood, and our wounds inflicted onto us. Where will seven highly traumatised ill ponies land? Well, that’s what we’re here to discuss.

I’d like to say, the irony that I so confidently type these characters, when they’re so obscure (in this context) and the fact the only other typology analysis I’m working on is for Daigaku Gurashi is very telling. I did guess the Yandere Simulator enneagrams. But like, that’s a can of worms I’m not getting into now. Point is: there’s a reason I stick to obscure characters.

I am not confident in my analysis. I’m getting better at typing characters, but ultimately, I have a hard time reading others. Character analysis isn’t my forte. Luckily for me, I had a hyper fixation with muffins on and off for a very long time, on and off. While the hyperfixation has passed, and I no longer care for this fic, you know I had to do it to them.

LET’S GET IT CRACKING.

Pinkie Pie - Muffins Pinkie Pie is a butchering- I mean re-imagination of canon Pinkie Pie, who is commonly seen as a sp2 or so7, but analysing Muffins Pinkie Pie paints an entirely different idea. First of all, let’s go through the Muffins quiz, which I have all the results to saved on my phone. The answers indicate a cognitive dissonance, or perhaps faux-affably evil persona. Reitanna paints a complex image of Pinkie. Pinkie is manipulative, lacks any care, and truly evil. (“High acts of cruelty require empathy.” - she knows what she’s doing.) She’s prone to anger outbursts when her friends are disrespected, and has a god complex. She uses others as a means to an end, only showing genuine love to the other 6. She hates when things don’t go her way (“You ruined everything!” To Twilight) and On Trial gives us the most characterisation of Pinkie Pie. She pushes the blame onto others for her actions, truly not caring about anyone but herself and her bakers. Pinkie says she “controls” others, showing a desire for control. Pinkie is a SP7. with a 6 wing? “Ichazo called SP7 "Defenders", people who have a need to band with others who have similar interests, having a passion for inclusion that leads to relationships of mutual protection…”

“The conservation E7 has become an expert at getting what he wants without asking for it. His basic conception is that things are not achieved by asking for them: either they take them, or they cheat or speculate to obtain them.” “He questions everything and has a certain degree of anger with life, little manifested. Basically, it underlies the difficulty of character for devotional love and recognizing the other. Similar to the E1, in the feeling that others are not trustworthy, that people are imperfect, but without taking the trouble to try to correct others, conservation E7 isolates itself from the world in its particular garden: that of the “family” or the feeling of involvement with a network to link, as a defense against a life that it understands as chaos and that reinforces its idea that pleasure and non-stop are the only possible escape routes.”

“They tend to sweet-talk those they are close to, and are very persuasive; anyone will be welcome as long as they get what they want. In their conversations, there can often be hidden motives and if they can sell you something on the way, they will. Making business is one of their passions. In addition, they are capable of even tricking and cheating themselves while maintaining the charming facade that allows them to get what they want when they want it. I think this summarises Pinkie pretty well, but I’m not 100% sure of this typing.

Inkie Pie

Inkie is self-confident and doesn’t care what others think about her. She uses others and doesn’t view them as humans. (“I see... a toy. A plaything put on this world for my amusement. These toys are sentient, they have thoughts and feelings, they make decisions that impact how they live, they have desires and fears... but I find I just don't care. There are only a few people in this world that I would never harm. Everybody else is worthless, their lives mean nothing to me.”)

She resents peace ("I just can't stand peace. I find the beauty in the dissonance.")

She bottles up her emotions to avoid getting hurt. (" guess bottling everything up wasn't very healthy..." just wanted to keep from getting hurt, but it hurt me more emotionally than a smack from mama ever could." She met the yellow eyes of her sister. "I'm sorry. I know that must've been a pretty ugly sight.")

Textbook Eight. I just don’t know what subtype. “Eights are self-confident, strong, and assertive. Protective, resourceful, straight-talking, and decisive, but can also be ego-centric and domineering. Eights feel they must control their environment, especially people, sometimes becoming confrontational and intimidating. Eights typically have problems with their tempers and with allowing themselves to be vulnerable. At their Best: self- mastering, they use their strength to improve others' lives, becoming heroic, magnanimous, and inspiring.”

I’m gonna guess SX8w7, but I’m honestly not sure. The way she treats Stella, like an object to own over a person, is really telling. The thing is, despite being a SX8 stereotype, her writing is sorta inconsistent in this regard. So I have no clue really.

Blinkie Pie

Blinkie is a hard character to type. Her only personality trait is “angry,” though I suppose there is some complexity beneath the surface. She’s still very barren and doesn’t have a single chapter outside of All That Glitters. Reitanna heard “hey, you should write more Inkie and Blinkie stories” and wrote 3 Inkie stories.

Blinkie is vain, materialistic and judgmental. She despises those that has what she doesn’t, and has an extremely low self esteem. She views herself as an average mare, because she was told being a pretty mare was something to be ashamed of. Ironically, we learn the most about Blinkie in Inkie’s Stellar Obsession. Blinkie is shown right off the bat trying to start a fight and mocking Minkie. She spends the whole chapter in resentment of Inkie for choosing a pretty mare to kill.

Blinkie shows an interest in being special and unique. "Why are you so pretty and perfect? Why are you so special?… I hate pretty mares because I want to be pretty like them! We average mares have to work hard to look good, but it just comes so naturally for you, doesn't it?"

She’s also very self critical. ("Your theory is good, but what if we mess up?" asked Blinkie Pie. "If I do this wrong, I'll hate myself for weeks, you know how I am!")

From this information, and outer context “She thinks that everypony is below her, all except her sisters, apple bloom, and Derpy.” “Blinkie pie is easy to tick off, and very prone to jealousy and spite. she barks orders, seeming to not know the meaning of "please" or "thank you," and specializes in jeering and taunting at those she considers lower than herself. she likes things to go HER way, which isn't usually a problem with her sisters or rest of the team because they coordinate so well. if one of them does something wrong, she will groan and play captain hindsight, stating that they shouldn't have done that.” So, from this, we can determine she is a SX4. That might be suspicious sounding, but let me explain.

“They then make others suffer as an unconscious way of trying to rid themselves of painful feelings of deficiency. They are the kind of people who’d rather be hated for who they are than be loved for someone who they are not. They stick out from other 4s due to their harsh and aggressive attitude, often described as shameless and feeling a strong rejection by the world as their inferiority gets replaced by aggression. Often they have a underlying hatred for their rivals and their rivals are the ones they personally feel is worth striving for…” “someone who believes that if someone is popular they must be worth striving for[1], resulting in hate, competitiveness and an aggressive outlook caused by suffering in childhood.”

“E4s are not afraid of originality and often enjoy feeling different. He loves to be special, unique, and original. And he succeeds. You can speak very explicitly without conforming to good manners, as well as dress flashily and against the grain. His desire to be peculiar makes him also brave and adventurous, minimizing risks and dangers.” She wants to be pretty and not average.

I wouldn’t say she’s an 8, as there’s more vanity and self-image issues beneath her.

Minkie Pie

Minkie Pie is also a 4, so4. She is spiteful, angry and unforgiving. She takes her anger out on anyone she sees, and looks down on those less hurt than her, while seeing those who endure pain as stronger. She is convinced her destiny is to remain locked up, and wants to be accepted for who she is, which is only her trauma. She feels dead, only feeling accepted by her sisters. She is no one without her trauma. She judges the world for her own pain, and wants her “play dates” to know her story.

Minkie isn’t a very well written character. But this is how she comes off. She’s been hurt, so she wants to hurt others. She views herself as damaged, and that she can’t be fixed.

“The Social Four appears emotionally sensitive (or oversensitive), feels thing deeply, and suffers more than most people. For this Four, there is a desire to be witnessed and seen in their suffering. They hope that if their suffering is sufficiently recognized and understood, they might be forgiven for their failures and deficiencies and loved unconditionally.”

“Naranjo explains that Social Fours are people who lament too much and who often put themselves in the victim role. They can appear self-sabotaging when they broadcast their suffering and their victimhood as a way of engendering sympathy in others, but they also undermine themselves by being too attached to the causes of their suffering.” “In public, social fours repress “frowned upon” emotions like anger or hatred and may appear sweet, friendly, and soft- (like in ‘meet the team’) but in private, they may express their emotions they store up in social situations and become aggressive. Generally, they prefer to swallow their own poison rather than externalize it to the people around them (this is the only exception for Minkie-) , and they typically have difficulty finding their place in a group and in society. These fours may experience themselves as misfits, and yet they also tend to generate social situations of rejection to confirm their shame. Someone on Reddit wrote it like this, *Social 4 is the softest and most tender. They have a shy sadness, and a deep sense of poignancy. They wear their sorrow like a cloak, and they hope that their pain and despair will be accepted. If someone is willing to accept them despite their flaws, they feel as if they can finally take their cloak off. In this person there is an abiding awareness of rejection and of being an outsider or an outcast. This person possesses great sensitivity to any slights or signs of being different than others, as they often feel unworthy to be in their presence anyway. They feel out of place, with inherent flaws, and they fear they will be rejected for them. This can be surprising to other people, as they often have unique gifts and a keen intuition.*

*Social 4 can be drawn to outsider / counter-cultural movements, where one is accepted for being “different” or “against the norm”. They make a virtue of these differences, and often display them openly once they feel comfortable, as an expression of their identity. Sometimes they even take pride in them and become a little elitist. However, there is a secret wish that one was born ordinary (like everyone else) so they did not have suffer their differences so deeply. “Why didn’t God make me normal?”*

Apple Bloom

Apple Bloom is a walking contradiction. A hypocrite, fake and optimistic. She doesn’t take responsibility for her actions, and can easily manipulate anyone around her. Blinded by rage, she becomes a horrible person over time. She re-iterates this in Apple Bloom Gets Her Cutie Mark and Silence Is Silver. ("Who cares if yer a good pony after all? Who cares if ya'd be a good friend? I sure don't! Yeah, after I cutcha open, I could totally fix ya right! But I ain't gonna. If everythin that happens happens, then ya can never really do the wrong thing, can ya? Yer just doin what yer s'posed to.")

Don’t hate though, I just want to credit them cuz taking an interest in the first place in MBTI AND analysing the silly horse creepypasta ponies is admirable. We are one in the same. Gotta say though, INFJ Minkie, ISTJ Apple Bloom- OUTTA THE POCKET.

Anyway this was my analysis. Muffins moment. Blinkie best girl. I’ve always loved her the most of all the bakers. I used to value Inkie as my 2nd favourite but idk if I agree anymore. Minkie is my least favourite, absolutely unbearable. I just like Blinkie cuz she’s just like me. I mean I’m a SX3… or am I?… fuck.

Great questions!

I don't want to say too much about Missy's feelings towards Alex out of fear of spoilers, but I will say Missy does care about Alex and doesn't want to see her harmed. Same goes for Sacha Dhawan's Master and, to a lesser degree, John Simm's Master.

To the Toymaker, Alex is a delightfully useful toy in his game against the Doctor. The Toymaker never would have guessed that the Doctor he first encountered would fall madly, passionately in love, so Alex is a new puzzle he tries to use to his advantage. And he does. We will see that in Alex's version of 'The Giggle'.

Not a swimming pool, I will say that much. Or anything related to her fear of water. Hopefully, the fear that is in Alex's room will make sense when we get to it.

Alex will hate the Division, Tecteun, all of it. They just might topple Kovarian and the Silence from their top spot on the list of things/people Alex hates the most.

Alex is more than okay with a Doctor who is more open about his sexuality, because she knows that while the Doctor might acknowledge certain people as attractive, she is the one he finds the most attractive, sexy, beautiful. . . Really, the list goes on, and 15 could easily go off on a monologue on his amazing wife (and probably does, much to Ruby's amusement).

Hehe, so much. I will say lots of characters (some canon, some OCs) will pop up and we'll get a lot of answers regarding Kovarian and the Silence's plans towards the Doctor, Alex, and River. You'll just have to wait and see!

Alex will meet Jenny sometime during the first half of Series 7. What I currently intend on doing is adapting one of the audio stories featuring Jenny ('Prisoner of the Ood') and having it take place in Bristol, while Alex is visiting Marigold and Lacey. Jenny will meet Jack also during the first half of Series 7, but she doesn't start a relationship with him right away as she's traveling with her dad and Alex on the TARDIS (plus, the moment the Doctor sees the obvious attraction between the two, he's anxious to keep the TARDIS from landing anywhere near 21st century Cardiff).

They will go to her funeral, yes. I'm thinking of having it turn into a wild Arrow-verse like event, where some big alien invasion happens while everyone's gathered at the funeral and the grieved mourners defiantly defending the Earth just as Sarah Jane would have done, but we'll have to see. Either way, it will be pretty rough for the Doctor and Alex. When exactly it will take place, I'm not sure, but I'm leaning towards during 13's era.

Oh, wow, that would be awesome if Alex's Time Lord ancestor was Romana! A bit full-circle, lol, since I've got my version of Eleven admitting he was attracted to Romana. It would also make sense, with Alex and Romana both being clever. Also would be interesting if her ancestor was the Corsair, but we'll have to wait and see who, exactly, it is (if it is one of those two!).

Alex mainly doesn't like Danny because of his immediately hostile attitude towards the Doctor. She also doesn't like how Clara feels tempted to lie to Danny all the time, something she points out to Clara constantly ("Wouldn't you rather be with someone you feel like you can trust?"). Aside from that, she has no particular dislike of Danny; she just feels he and Clara aren't compatible (and she's right).

Don’t Judge Him

Hinata and you have known each other for a long time. When you started high school, you and your family moved to Hinata's neighborhood and your houses were very close to each other. You used to go to school together every morning and come back together in the evening. Sometimes Hinata would get you on her bike and take you around the neighborhood and then drive you home

He was a kind and sweet boy. You enjoyed spending time with him. But when you realized his love for volleyball, you realized for the first time that you felt something other than friendship for him. Yet you ignored and ignored

Why would you fall in love with someone shorter than you, childish?

Of course that was your initial thought.

Yes, Hinata was ambitious. He was stubborn. He was pushing his limits. Most importantly, he did not see his short stature as an obstacle. At lunch one day, she shared her story with you until she joined Karasuno High's volleyball team.

How he overwhelmed his friends to constantly pass him in middle school, how he got into the girls' team as a one-man team even though there was no boys' team, he picked up a team at the last moment in his first match, and most importantly, when he lost to Kageyama's team, he made a big vow to beat him.

The fact that he loved volleyball so passionately affected you deeply. An after school invited you to training and you watched the training match that day. It was your first time seeing Hinata play, but you involuntarily felt as if she was performing artistic moves to impress you.

His quick reflexes and blindfolded ball were really impressive. If he had any intention of impressing you, he had already done so.

You did a lot of activities together at school and outside of school. So much so that the people at school began to suspect that there was something between you.

The girls in the class always kept asking questions whenever they saw you alone.

“Hey Y/N. Don't get me wrong, but what's wrong with you and Shoyo?”

“Are you dating with Shoyo?”

“You two seem too close. Are you really just friends?"

Usually, you answered questions that you were just friends and neighbors. But your answers didn't seem to convince them very much. Others were convinced and then used sarcastic remarks for Hinata.

“You are doing well. I don't think it suits him. He's not even handsome. If you ask me, I'd say try your luck at Kageyama"

The nasty comments about Hinata bothered you. You knew him best and you spent the most time with him. So no one knew better than you how loving and sincere Hinata was. Also, while he wasn't handsome to them, he was both cute and handsome to you. What mattered to you was the beauty of her heart and only you could see it.

It went on like this for a long time. Your heart aches every time your friends hate Hinata. You even defended Hinata against them a few times. What would they know about the special bond between the two of you?

Every time you experience this, you think long and hard about it when you go home and lie on your bed. Later, Hinata began to occupy every corner of his mind. You couldn't get it out of your mind and you were both afraid and weak to describe this feeling inside you.

One evening, when you were thinking of Hinata lying on the bed and your day again, the clouds of dreams in your mind were dissipated by the vibrating of your phone. The phone screen said the message was from Hinata.

“Hey… are you asleep?”

"No."

“I didn't sleep either. I can't sleep…”

"Why is that?"

“How can I say… I've been wanting to talk to you about this for a while anyway”

As if an electrical current were suddenly sent through you, your body started and your heart rate quickened. Was he going to tell you he loved you? Even though you didn't think it was likely, did you have the slightest chance?

“Sure, let's talk”

He seemed to be writing on Whatsapp for minutes, but he could not send it. Five minutes later, the long message he wrote landed on your phone.

“Now I have liked someone for a long time. But she is not aware of it. Because I never showed it to her, I always treated her like a friend. It was impossible for her to understand that I had feelings for her. Now I'm sure of my feelings. I don't want to spoil our friendship either, but I can't resist my feelings. I love her so much. What do you think I should do?"

Even though she didn't say who she was, you thought it was possible that the person she loved might be someone else. You felt like crying, but you couldn't cry. You felt your chest tighten slightly. You didn't want to write anything. Even though your fingers went to the keyboard to type, it didn't feel like it. Hinata seemed insistent. Then he sent another message

“Please Y/N…I need your help.”

You reluctantly replied to your message

“How long have you been in love?”

“It is a long time. It wasn't love at first sight, but then I realized that I think about it every second when I go home every night, lying in bed, studying, reading, taking a shower. It was nothing but love. Would she get mad at me if I wanted to spoil our friendship?"

Hinata's feelings were not alien at all. It was as if the heart was against the heart. You felt the same emotions. But was it really you that he loved?

“Do you mind if I know who your crush is?”

“I trust you, but I still can't say your name. It's better for me to keep it hidden. What are you saying? Should I tell him? I don't have the courage either but…I wanted to ask you in case you know maybe"

You tried to suppress a bit of bitterness you felt, albeit vaguely.

“I don't know either, Hinata. I've never told anyone I love you before"

"Are you serious? You're beautiful girl. I thought it must have been someone you loved. Or your lover"

"It didn't happen"

"So is it now?"

That question gave you good reason to rely on the little hope in it.

"Yes there is. What a coincidence isn't it?"

"Wow! Who is this lucky person?”

You gave the same answer as Hinata

"I can not say. Secret. His name is hidden in me. Whenever I close my eyes, his face comes to life in my eyes. His beautiful smile warms me like the sun. Whenever I'm happy or sad, I always call his name. He is my everything."

“So you love it that much. OK, don't tell me. Eventually I will find out who your secret crush is"

“Of course you can learn”

“You see. If you say it, I'll say it too. Maybe one day, if not now. Is it possible?"

"Ok it's possible. I have to sleep now. See you later. Goodnight"

If the person he loved was with someone else, why was he a little insistent about telling you? Still, you didn't want to get too hopeful. But at the same time, you gave ear to his hope.

You really loved him. This love sprouted inside of you when you least expected it.

Hinata suddenly became your whole world. So much so that you couldn't even imagine anyone else but him. If even Japan's most handsome actor wanted to date you, you would refuse without batting an eye and run to your Hinata.

No one else cared about him. He was the first and only for you

It never mattered to you that he was shorter than you, acted boyish, wasn't muscular and sexy like most girls liked.

A few days later, after school, your middle school friends invited you to the cafe. You haven't seen them in a long time and you wanted to meet them to restore the past.

But you also made a contract with Hinata. After meeting your friends, you were to meet him at the park. You would hang out and have some fun. However, Hinata had something else planned. That's why he invited you to the park. You would learn that later

You met your friends from middle school at the cafe. You mentioned your favorite drinks. You chatted, laughed, had fun. You mentioned funny middle school memories.

Then it came to handsome boys. Everyone was talking about the boy they liked at school or talking about a celebrity they admired. Last time they asked you

“Well Y/N. Is there anyone you like? I heard there are some very handsome guys on Karasuno's volleyball team."

Your lips curled slightly.

"Actually… the person I like is exactly one of Karasuno's volleyball team"

All of them paid close attention to what they were going to say. Your statement shocked them when they were waiting for your crush to be Kageyama Tobio, Tsukishima Kei or Asahi Azumane

“Hinata Shoyo. Volleyball is his greatest love. He's a little shy but extremely lively. I love your endless energy and stubborn heart. He never sees his short stature as an obstacle. He's always pushing the limits and he's proud of it. I'm proud of him too. I wish he loved me too"

With each sentence of yours, the excited facial expressions of your friends changed with the speed of light.

“Is it Hinata? Do you have his picture?"

"Certainly"

You showed me a few pictures on your phone. This included a selfie you took together.

They started laughing as soon as they saw the photos.

"Oh is that really?"

“This is the child”

“Not sexy”

“Not even handsome”

“It is no different than a stunted tree.”

“Officially a ground dwarf”

"He can't even protect you"

“How distasteful you are. Couldn't you find a hotter and more handsome man?"

You were at the end of your patience and stood up with your last fist banging on the table.

“THAT’S ENOUGH! WHAT DO YOU KNOW FROM LOVE!! YOU LIKE PEOPLE WITH BEAUTIFUL LOOK BUT HELLOW! JUDGING IT WITHOUT KNOWING IT… It's not nice! You don't know him! You don't even know he has a heart of gold! He is my world! You just fall in love with the looks! I bet you've never been in love with a person's heart!”

“Calm down Y/N. We're sorry if we knew you'd be this pissed off..."

You took your money out of your wallet and left it on the table.

“It is the fault that you do not know! Take it! You pay my bill! You are shallow people! What do you understand from the heart, what a thing! Never judge him again! Don't laugh at him! NEVER!"

You left the cafe as you said your last word. You couldn't digest the condescending words said to Hinata and started to walk away crying

It wasn't the first time that the man you loved was talked about like this, and it was getting harder now. Finally, your patience ran out.

You loved him with all your heart.

You remembered that you had promised to meet at the park that you had decided to tell her, even if the person she loved was someone else. No one could turn you away from your decision now. You couldn't hold it inside any longer

You came to the park he said and you sat on the bench and waited. It was slowly getting dark. Half an hour later, a bicycle approached him.

"HEY! Hello Y/N! I hope I didn't make you wait too long"

Despite Hinata happily welcoming you, you weren't there at all. Because the insulting and condescending words said to Hinata were still floating in his mind.

He knew right away that he was in a bad mood.

He got off his bike and sat next to her. put his hand on her shoulder

“Y/N…Are you okay?”

Even though you tried to hide your tears, you couldn't do it

"What happened?"

"Ignorant people! They don't know what love is! Fools!” you jumped up

Hinata still couldn't understand what happened to you

"Who?"

“My stupid middle school friends! They mocked the boy who I love! They laughed at him! I'm incredibly annoyed that they're unknowingly judging him! To hell with them!”

You kicked the crushed Coke can on the floor

"You're right. They don't understand by heart… they said I didn't stand a chance against you either."

You were shocked as soon as you heard. You turned your head towards Hinata and stiffened where you were.

"W-What?"

Hinata got up from her bench and approached you. She wiped her tears with her fingers

“You heard it. You're the girl I love Y/N."

"How so? The person you mentioned…”

You still couldn't believe what you were hearing. It was like you were in a dream. You were afraid of waking up at any moment

“Of course it was you Y/N. Tell me, who could it be but you?"

“I thing…”

He put his hands on his face and made his eyes look into hers

“Say something y/n. Do you love me?"

You grabbed her hands on her face and hugged her tightly, showing that the answer was yes.

"What does that mean now?"

His face was buried in his neck. You've hugged before, but you've never been this close. You heard the smell of coconut and vanilla mixture for the first time.

“Shut up Hinata! Just hug me"

He did what you said. He held you tight in his arms

“I love you Hinata. You were the one I loved all this time. If you said that you love someone else here today, I would say that I love you again"

"Do not talk like that! There was no way it was anyone else. I would never look at anyone else in your presence."

He caressed the back of your head and hugged you tight

“I love you y/n.”

“I love you Hinata”

disclaimer: no particular person or anything spurned this post. i was on a walk and just. thinking over my two years of having played her and recollecting things that happened on my first solo blog with her and then kind of some instances here. but for the most part this is just me wanting to make this post because it’s important to me.

I PLAY XAYAH AS MEAN

( also note this heavily applies to her mainverse, other verses could be more lenient but for the most part this still applies to them, as well )

xayah is Not Nice ( tm ), she is not warm, loving, and understanding. not even to other vastaya. to humans, mages, human sympathizers... so like 90% of others she comes across... she will judge. she will be harsh. she does not care the age of the other. children and innocent may get a pass at her not wanting to cut their throats, but she won’t be any softer to them.

i do not make exceptions when i play her. if you think i am with someone else, i can assure you her being soft or kind with characters was not an immediate thing. much plotting was most likely done behind the scenes. twinnie’s rakan for example. we have plotted that xayah was essentially toxic to him at first. he was mu’takl to her. a blood traitor. human sympathizer. she kept him around because he was useful and she could tell he at least had the passion for her cause. it took months in our plotting before she started to recognize him as more than just an ally in battle.

xayah’s cause is sympathetic, valiant... she has the right core but she’s honestly rotten. distrustful, antagonizing. she has taken on a war leader, can’t trust anyone personality. she has come to be accepting of death whether friend or foe. she may mourn deep in her heart, but for the most part she has become stoic and behind a wall. getting passed her wall is not easy. others have to put up with her harsh tongue and nature, have to deal with her judging every move, deal with her lacking trust and possibly being hateful. like she just is. again, her goals are not terrible, she isn’t seeking to destroy humans, she just wants to free and restore her people, but she really doesn’t care if her goals hurt, either. humans, vastaya... anyone who gets in the way.

rakan helps mollify her personalty a lot. helps her reason this anger and behavior she has, but he doesn’t stop it. he doesn’t even always prevent it. in many ways, he admires it, but he keeps her from taking it to extremes that aren’t necessary or right.

yes, this can make interacting with her hard, especially if rakan is not there to be a somewhat voice of reason. it could take multiple small interactions for her to accept others on a tolerating level. yes, stronger muses might and could beat the fuck out of her ( but despite her attitude, she usually won’t try and start a fight unless it’s actually to her or the cause’s benefit, she’s not that gungho to risk her life for a trivial spat ). i will not make her kinder, i will not make her lax just for the sake of getting a friendship or allyship or whatever ship going faster/easier. it makes me uncomfortable. it makes me feel like i’m not putting genuine care into her muse. i want these relationships, but i want them to stem from genuine reactions and chemistry. xayah can learn and grows and be better, but it will take time.

i love xayah, but i want to play her as i’ve formed her alongside her canon. and while i’m sure other xayah roleplayers have played her differently, and i know the fandom often likes to see her differently ( ie. putting her with sett or ahri when my gosh the issues she would have with those two jfkdl;saj ), and honestly let them, they’re still valid... i just wanna play her as i have worked on and grown to love and i want people to understand this and know i’m not making her mean out of malice towards you, it’s just how i see her. a girl with a strong heart who will defend those she loves passionately, but also is just not easy to get to know or get along with or form strong bonds with outside of tentative allyships. there’s a reason sg xayah is essentially Mean Girl ( tm ) lol. she’s cliquey and stubborn and this reflects her mainverse ajklfd;sa

...but again, this isn’t me saying xayah is impossible. it just needs time and/or plotting !!! because deep down she’s still a young woman who just cares and wants to help and have fun, but it takes special relationships to get passed the rebel who feels she’s fighting a war in some ways.

below the cut i’mma just throw some examples from her stories that just help support why i’ve come to this way of playing her if you’re interested.

a vastaya died. xayah mourns him surface level. but he was ultimately a number. and she is quick to become angry once more when humans are mentioned. the kinkou actually somewhat have ideals she probably agrees with, and she doesn’t like/trust them, either.

humans: dying and struggling to survive magic’s release after xayah’s plan destroyed the quinlon xayah: eh, sucks to suck, their own fault.

no sympathy for these people, who are innocent in many ways.

this is less about her being mean though she is rather judgy lol. but helping the vlotah isn’t just about helping them... but furthering her cause. also a reminder that rakan is able to bring out her softer side.

disrespecting the vlotah elder. uncaring of human life... refusing to accept the treaty that the vlotah tribe still respected. her terms or no terms ( which would lead to the vlotah’s demise ).

rakan has to remind her to keep a level head essentially. to be understanding even if she doesn’t agree. these people are dying and are scared.

unlike rakan, she is not touched by the humans’ attempt to understand and respect. and she refuses to eat their food for a time, untrusting of them while rakan is just going at it.

xayah hasn’t spoken much during this whole ordeal so while she hasn’t been outright rude to the abbess, she is not on friendly terms and is ready to let her and her acolytes perish despite their kindness and help. she only ends up leaving them a warning to help them survive due to rakan’s persistence and trust in them.

even rakan didn’t expect she would do that. it is not in xayah’s nature.

Piedmon could've been a great ally if it wasn't for the absolutely abusive "father" that was Apocalymon. Like Piedmon was CREATED to be evil and then nobody ever told them otherwise bc they couldn't!! that's not their fault!! (Its yours >:[ /j)

SORATO MAKES NO SENSE. (Taiora makes the smallest amount of sense if you squint REALLY fucking hard.)

Given the context we get, kenyako is a toxic relationship!! First of all, its parasocial, at least at first. Its like if I ended up dating that one tiktoker who makes cute songs about her cat and rainbow slug sensory toys. I have NO clue who she is! Yolei has a celebrity crush, and even ends up more or less HATING him at some point! They hardly interact and I'm supposed to believe that they're just together now? BULLSHIT!

If Myotismon was a human he'd either be a womanizer or a child predator. The second option is mostly just vibes (and also Kay remembering traumatic events involving his older cousin.)

Devimon was hardly a villain he just seemed like a very smart dude who accidentally made his creative outlet mind control

Tk should punch Ken one more time for good measure (I hate seeing Ken hurt but smack him again)

In an attempt to make the 01 kids (+Tk & Kari) seem "more mature now," Toei just made all the ones who get screentime at all fucking assholes (except Izzy he is still perfect)

Koumi makes no sense to me!! Why???? Its just the geek/popular girl troupe how dare you (maybe its better in tri but I will never know because I will never watch Tri I think)

Roswell, New Mexico: Subterranean Homesick Alien (4x03)

Not to be predictable, but an episode without Alex Manes is never going to be my fave. Plus I thought a lot of this was just kind of boring and underwhelming? Let's dive in.

Cons:

So, there were a couple of characterization things in this episode that felt like someone was writing these characters without the full context of their growth. Max, for example, being a little keyed up and nervous and overcontrolling about the new aliens, sure. That tracks. That makes sense. But his hostility towards Michael was a little over the top, and it wasn't addressed meaningfully in the episode. Liz had to babysit him through his feelings and get him to admit that Michael had a good idea, which I found sort of annoying. Also, maybe this is just a me thing, but I hate it when Max uses the name "Guerin" for Michael. It doesn't fit for them.

Speaking of Michael, I rather liked him in this episode for the most part, but I find the inconsistencies in his relationship to music to be sort of annoying. The first time we ever see Michael with a guitar, when he's explaining that it quiets all the noises, he's saying that to Alex. It's part of their origin story together. So when he's telling Bonnie he taught himself how to play, when the two of them are bonding over that, it's weird that there was no verbal or even visual callback to Alex whatsoever.

And then there's Maria. Look, I'd consider myself a defender of Maria DeLuca, but really only because people seem to have so much hatred towards her and I think it's over the top. Maria is great in the same way all the other characters on this show are great, in that she has a lot of flaws and a lot of shining qualities. She's complex. However, I will admit, one thing that's sort of frustrating about the way Maria is written is that the show, and the other characters, never really acknowledge her flaws. Especially not in season three or in season four so far. In this episode, she behaves recklessly trying to get her visions back, and Dallas is there to patiently be there for her and help her find the answers in a different way. It really bothered me when Maria couldn't think of a single bad or selfish thing she's ever done. Maybe the idea of being a martyr, of putting yourself in danger for the sake of feeling like you belong, is a flaw, Maria. And if it's a flaw she can't recognize in herself, that's fine, but it's strange that the show doesn't seem to really recognize it either. I hesitate to even type any of this out, because Maria gets enough hate around these parts, for things she absolutely doesn't deserve to be hated on for, but I'm not a fan of her being lionized as the selfish, unproblematic, perfect friend either. That's just not accurate, and frankly, it makes her a less interesting character!

I liked the stuff with Isobel and Kyle this week, but I do need to point out that Anatsa plying someone with alcohol was really awkward and uncool. I hated that it was framed as Anatsa trying to be good at her job, when in fact what she was doing was really fucked up. Also, I think I'd like Anatsa more if we'd gotten to know a bit more of her before she was partnered up with Isobel... as it is, I feel like I can't quite connect to her. The actresses are doing their best to give us that passion and connection between the two women, but it's hard to deny that Michael Trevino and Lily Cowles have a much stronger automatic chemistry on screen. Contrasting that with Anatsa and Isobel's interactions made the issue a lot more obvious to me.

Obligatory complaint about no Alex Manes has to go here... I hope we get a bit more mention of him or even a glimpse next week. We'll see!

Pros:

Max and Isobel had an all-too-brief conversation in this episode, and I was reminded of how much I love their brother-sister bond. More of this next time, please! I love the silent ways they support one another.

Dallas and Michael make such a good team, I loved their pool scene at the start of the episode, and then their mind conversation while Dallas is getting information from Graham Green. They have a great vibe and energy as brothers. I really liked their scenes together, because Dallas comes alive as a fully fleshed out character to me when he's bouncing off of Michael. I was a little less entertained by Dallas and Maria's scenes, but I still liked them okay, and I love that Maria recognized what a great and supportive friend Dallas is being to them all.

Liz is continuing to balance the different aspects of her life, chasing down exciting science leads but also helping Max deal with his emotions and concerns, and learning to enjoy the quiet moments with him when she can. Honestly, such a glow-up for our girl Liz, I am all about it. Shivani seems like such an interesting addition to Liz's character growth, in a weird way... like it's clear that she's not exactly a saint, but I believe that she thinks she's doing the right thing, and her motivations (to save her sick daughter) are certainly sympathetic! I can't wait to see where this goes.

Michael is a calmer, more settled version of himself in this episode, and I kind of love to see it. After getting pep talks over the past couple of weeks from Dallas, Sanders, and Alex, he's now in a place where when he sees someone in distress, he wants to help. I like the fledgling connection between Michael and Bonnie. Mostly I like it because I like some angst, and if Bonnie is connected with Tezca, once Michael finds out that Alex is in trouble, I anticipate a bit of a falling out for this new friendship... but also I like seeing Michael be sweet to someone, he's very good at it. The scene at the end with him showing Bonnie the guitar and her strumming on it was honestly super adorable.

Kyle and Isobel just... sparkle with each other. You gotta feel bad for Anatsa, and for Kyle's date, because the second these two are talking, you can just see how well they click. Kyle is well aware of his feelings, and is in fact trying to work past them. Isobel seems unaware that she might have feelings back, and there's trouble in paradise with Anatsa when she confronts her about keeping secrets. Like I said above, Anatsa and Isobel just don't draw me in the way I wish they did. I am more invested in Kybel than I ever thought I'd be!

At the end of the day, I definitely found this episode a little bit boring. As I keep saying in these reviews, I'm not here for the plot, I'm here for the interesting character relationships. So the screen-time we spend on our new triad characters, the machinations of the scientific discoveries, none of that is ever going to draw me in as much. I guess we'll have to see what next week gives us. We've got Jones missing, and Eduardo mind-whammied, Alex in a hole...

And still no Rosa Ortecho!

This is just me obsessing over an old show. Again. What else is new?

Omg, this is perfection. Parenting Made Easy, 3.10, The Good Wife Such a juicy bite! I love that show, especially the first 3 seasons. I don't know if this is about age thing... but coming back and seeing it now, from a different perspective - just pure pleasure. The writing of the relationships and the drama! With all the ups and downs in the mood! Damn, they were good! This is exactly the type of writing that resonates with me. I watched a couple of episodes of other things lately. Well... Nope. They all seemed as if they were made for children. Some are really iconic series, but they just seem... meh... There is a good line here and there, but overall they feel shallow. And I get it, somewhere from the 90s, but The Nanny was from the 90's and still works fantastic, way better than other famous sitcoms from the same period.

It's not the era. It's the quality. There isn't a moment to breathe here. When something is funny, it's hilarious! When something is dramatic, it hurts! I can't help but think what would have happened, what was the initial plan about Alicia and Kalinda if certain someone hadn't decided to act like an idiot. I will never forgive her for this. Professional behavior, my ass... Anyway!

I love these writers! No idea who they are, but they deserve their weight in gold!(Leonard Dick is the only familiar name, and that's just because he wrote for House. )

It's rare for a show to make me care about pretty much every character. Usually it's about 3 people. The rest seem like a blur in the background. Here they feel solid! Even the guest actors. Often especially the guest actors. I know many of them are talented actors, but I didn't the first time I watched them. They were just characters for me. Some I understood and loved, others still hate with passion. Kanning and Elsbeth Tassioni! Whoever came up with her is brilliant!

But anyway! My thoughts were about this episode. Alicia is worried about her daughter, it started in the previous episode. Some of the people she defends are psychopaths, and it takes a toll on her. Oddly enough, she was witness to some seriously disturbing shit and never even flinched. But in her defense, on one occasion she was drunk, and it was hilarious. Now her kid decides to disappear and go to... some shady dude who baptized her. Yup. Her daughter still is among my least favourite characters. Even her son is more understanding and bearable than her. I feel like they either messed up with this kid's character, or she was done this way on purpose. Maybe to create a rift between her and her mother later on. Still...

So she disappears and Alicia freaks out, not being able to find her for several hours. Understandably, in her head, she's seeing the worst. Only her son is calm and tells her exactly what ended up happening. The interesting part is what happens around her without her knowledge. The way people revolve around her, activate to help, their reactions, and how effective or useless they are. I can't stand Peter! But have to admit - when it's about their kids, he cares and behaves as a normal father. The moment Alicia calls him, he understands and quickly forgets how angry he is at her and how lousy their relationship is at this moment. This isn't about them - this is about their child, and understandably, he uses all his power and resources to start looking for their daughter.

Kanning, who is usually a snake, a brilliant cutthroat, and ready to use every opportunity, takes a second to realize how upset and scared she is and immediately steps in to offer help. Despite his behaviour in court, he admires her and cares about her in his own way. Granted, by the end, he is his usual self and does something shocking... or very predictable. I don't know if I admire him, hate him, or am jealous that I can't be that opportunistic and smart. Probably all of the above. But here, the most amazing reaction goes, yet again, to Kalinda. At this point, the relationship between her and Alicia is disastrous. After the blow-up between the two about 11 episodes ago, Alicia can't even be in her presence. At the beginning of the episode, she even angrily asks: "What are you doing here?", when Kalinda comes to help the intern. A small reminder that Kalinda is sleeping with the dogs at the moment.

But one of the best aspects of this relationship is that Kalinda is almost like a shadow to Alicia. A guard of sorts who follows her closely and is ready to jump. And it's even better that this is not just explicitly shown on this occasion, but it's always there throughout the series from the very beginning. From their first case. From the first courtroom appearance of Alicia. Kalinda is there to give support. An encouraging word. An intimidating presence to the others who are or can be a potential threat. She is a rock. In this case, she senses something is going on, understands the situation from a couple of words, and immediately goes into action! She speaks with Zack, goes to Grace's girlfriend before the police, asks the right questions, and finds Grace before everyone.

The way she dismisses Will on the way out is absolutely the icing on the cake. Will meets her and asks her if she has time, she brushes him off, without even a look with a short "no" and leaves. Mind you, she is at work, and that's not just her colleague, that's her boss! The person who hired her, who is one of the closest people to her, said directly to her "I've got your back!". Her priorities can not be more clear.

Her loyalty is amazing! Later on, she shows it time and time again. It's even sweeter when this is shown in contrast to how she uses people and doesn't give a fuck about them. She respects Diane, but she is just a boss. She likes and respects Will, but she won't hesitate to manipulate him to give her a raise. Later on, she shows the same loyalty to Cary, risking jail to save him. But for Alicia, she would do anything. Literally anything. Forget breaking the law, forget jail - she is willing to kill. Poor Will. This was a bad time for him. Misunderstood, dismissed, and left outside the action he even misinterpreted what he saw when he came to her apartment. It's not that he didn't want to help, but Alicia thought he was calling about work or about them, and at that moment, he was the one who was unfortunate to be the receiving end of her anger. The guilt that she put herself first for once and could have cost her everything, even though there was no connection with what happened, made her decide later on to end it.

It almost felt like Will doesn't have a place in that part of her life. He wouldn't be able to understand - that's her family, and it seems like Will is not the type of guy built for a family. He is a playboy, married to his job, immature, enjoying his money and freedom, and a love affair with a colleague is just the type of thing he would do for fun, with no depth, just because it's fun and dangerous. If depicted this way for the viewers, it would have made me not like him very much. The whole thing with Alicia would've been meaningless and annoying. He could easily be just a dumb macho or a prick, that would make me say 'Pff, f off... "

But... he is not. And that's also made skillfully from the writers. In the eyes of most people around, even Diane, who knows him really well, Will is having fun, albeit dangerous fun with a coworker. It's again Kalinda who sees how deep his feelings for Alicia run. Will is subtle. Well, most of the time. He keeps his distance and respects her wishes. He asks her what she wants and what she thinks. He meets Zack and actively tries to be nice, he is awkward, wondering how he should behave with her son, but he tries. Later he asks her if she wants him to meet her children. She refuses, saying that there is no need. But just asking for this... seems like something huge! At this point, they are just having a secret affair, not telling ANYONE, because she is married to Peter. If that was just sex, he wouldn't think at all about something like this. But he had already made up his mind in that voicemail long ago. It's just she doesn't know that. It's telling how their first meeting with Owen went. Alicia's brother is one of my favourite characters in the show. Owen, and later Marrisa seem to be the voice of the viewers. I have loved Owen from the very moment he first spoke! Sharp, funny, perceptive, and kind, a bit messed up in his relationships, but he genuinely loves his sister and her children. Owen hates Peter, and it feels like it's mutual, and that resentment didn't start with the scandal. But with Will, they click from the very moment they meet. And Owen constantly pushes Alicia to Will, convinced that this is what will make her happy. It's also interesting that every time he asks her if she is in love with Will and if this will hurt her, she says "no". It feels like the whole idea is that she sees the situation from the cynical point of view of an outsider or the society. Maybe the society is right, probably her affair is the same old cliche of a boss messing around with an employee. No matter how Will behaves or what he says, what would it take for her to even consider that it is something more? Did life so far teach her anything else? The constant lesson to her was: "You can't trust people, they will hurt you." Betrayal is the ongoing theme throughout the series. It's not about her being a victim. People are like that - they don't care, they are selfish and will betray you. Her mom doesn't seem to care, she just lives her life, her husband from 20 years, the person who you are supposed to trust the most in the whole wide world, who you shared everything with you, spit on your trust and exposed you to the world to become a mockery, left you to fight alone, and to look for excuses for mistakes that aren't yours at all. Every one of her friends abandoned her, new ones either don't stick or put themselves and their interests before you. Or worse - they hurt you for no reason whatsoever. Trusting someone with your heart starts to look laughable with time. If she opens herself to it she exposes the last thing that is left of her inner self, the most intimate part of her, and is betrayed again, will she survive? I guess she chooses to think that this is fun for two grown adults, and that's it. Even Diane thinks so. The moment she found out about it she was sure that this fling would mean a disaster for her job. Because it's the only thing she has to protect, the only thing important to her, the meaning of her life. She can not comprehend that this relationship can be something that can be more important than their jobs and that they can view it differently. She goes into a protective mood over her job. This looks like one of the most American traits of the show - that cynical view of people's feelings and the normal, human side of the relationship. Work is more important than anything, and it can be the sole meaning of one's life, nothing else.

That is another can of worms people would probably hate me for digging into around here. But it's yet another aspect of the writing in this show that I love. Don't get me wrong - I like Diane, but for the first seasons of the show, she comes across as the cold, calculated bitch, who is ready to walk on corpses just like everyone else around her. She has no sympathy for almost anyone, man or woman, and is led by her desire for success and money until she is faced with uncomfortable love and a devastating loss that slowly makes her rethink everything. Someone in the previous seasons mocks her that she likes to pretend that her company is a family, and the accuracy of the statement is perfect. Family doesn't cost you millions if you make a mistake, you don't get into it (Usually) by giving obscene amounts of money, and the family doesn't (again usually) betray you over a deal, a family is supposed to be above that, and based on... love? Trust? Security? Support? Respect? Family means protection.

Not for Diane. And lately, not for Alicia. Diane never had one, and Alicia was stripped of the notion she could rely on hers. Her mother is nowhere to be seen, her brother gone for years, her husband... well, left her broke, jobless, humiliated, and she had to give up her home, with only a vicious, hateful mother-in-law who couldn't wait for every opportunity to make her feel like shit.

When Diane finds out about Alicia and Will, she doesn't think that there could be something more there. She thinks Alicia may have developed feelings, but she'll get over them. But for Will, it doesn't even cross her mind that he could be genuine. And she has known him for years. Ironic, considering in this episode, he speaks about a commitment to Kalinda. It's not new, but saying it out loud is a huge step forward. That's the man who claimed he doesn't do feelings in a recent conversation with her.

People lie. Alicia lies to convince herself, Will lies so he doesn't look weak, and Kalinda lies to save her own life and the people she cares about. Peter just lies. Because... a habit? At the end of the episode, it looks like one relationship is over, another is reviewed through a different lens, and a third one is presented with the possibility of being repaired.

The title "Parenting Made Easy" seems to hit another level of double meaning. No sane person in the world would say that parenting is easy, especially in a city with a crime rate through the roof, for people who struggle with personal problems, and in professions where people would do anything to get what they want, riddled with criminals who are ready to kill. But on some level, it's comforting to know that even then, in certain situations, everyone would forget everything else and focus on what's important. It takes a village, even for the wealthy. Even if it is a bit crazy.

(also my brain is mush rn so i apologize if i sound stupid while explaining anything here :') )

3 male characters I love:

my three favorite male characters are jaune arc, oscar pine & james ironwood! jaune took a while to grow on me (because of reason i'll elaborate on further down), oscar is just a sweet guy and ironwood... i might not agree with everything he does, but he's a very interesting character (just not always a good person :') )

3 female characters I love:

my three favorite rwby gals are pyrrha nikos, yang xiao long and weiss schnee. pyrrha is just such a sweet character and she deserves the world! yang is a character i kinda just vibe with, i can't quite explain what i like about her, only that i do like her. and weiss has great character development and an interesting background!

3 romantic ships I love:

i have to defend myself first and say that i'm a multishipper, so i pretty much vibe with most ships. but my three favorites have to be blake x yang, oscar x ruby and jaune and pyrrha. pyrrha x jaune is a ship i mainly like because i love pyrrha and jaune would make her happy (even if i feel like she's out of his league–). blake and yang... well, i saw the scene where they got together in volume 9 before even watching rwby and even without any context, i cried because they were just so cute 🥺 and ruby and oscar... honestly, i just like both of those characters and i haven't quite settled on what my fav ruby ship is, but i do want oscar to be happy, so he gets the silver eyed girl for now 😌

3 platonic dynamics I love:

this one is hard because i've got so many pairing that i like as ships but also don't mind as friends. like i could list the same pairings above, because i'd love them even if they were just friends. but i think i'd have to go for... sun x neptune, jaune x ruby and yang x weiss. i like all three of those pairs but also not enough to really ship them. they all have a very lovely dynamic though and always enjoy seeing them together!

3 favorite moments in canon:

my absolute favorite moment is the bumbleby kiss! the music, the visuals, the voice acting... just everything about that scene is perfect! by far my favorite moment in canon! the other two are tricky, but i think that scene where jaune / team jnr see pyrrha's statue has to be one of them. it was really sad but also some nice closure that i hadn't really felt until that point. and the third scene would have to be ruby's confrontation with neopolitan + all the people that died so far. just being able to see pyrrha again or roman was so nice! and absolutely heartbreaking to see them fight ruby & co. :') (plus billy kametz voiced roman in that scene which only hurt even more...)

3 favorite headcanons:

i don't really have a lot of headcanons for rwby, but i highkey headcanon james ironwood to be a yandere. he already isn't really a good person and he did not hesitate to shoot a guy, so he wouldn't hesitate either if someone was flirting with his partner 👀 another headcanon would be that rwby likes oreos. i can't explain it, but she gives me that vibe. i could also see her and yang (+ maybe the rest of team rwby) argue over the correct way to eat them. and lastly, i headcanon that nora's favorite pokemon would be pikachu.

3 least favorite things about it:

the thing i hate most about ruby is how some people in the fanom portray jaune. i absolutely hate jaune x his harem with a burning passion. everything i see about it feels just so out of character for jaune, yet i see way too many people portray him as this overpowered beast who can't help but fall for every woman he meets & have them fall for him as well. i disliked jaune for quite a bit when i started watching rwby, before slowly realizing that it's not canon!jaune that i have a problem with but fanon!jaune.

another thing i don't like about rwby is how soon they left behind beacon academy. honestly, i loved the first three seasons because of that setting and i'm still a bit sad we didn't get to see more of them during that time. school/college settings with a twist are really fun, like what my hero academia has. i kinda miss beacon but i also understand why they aren't going back to it. (i'd still like to see them at least go back once when rwby ends)

and the last least favorite thing about rwby... probably the art style in the earlier seasons. it's kinda nice in a way to see the show evolve over the years, but i also can't help but wish we got to see certain scenes or characters in more polished models.

camellia: i've always dreamed of visiting australia and italy since i was like 5. i want to see the sydney opera house and the beautiful beaches, i just feel this paradisiac feeling every time i look at pictures and see documentaries of australia. i feel like i'm meant to go there, it's something i have to do in this lifetime, like i'm supposed to. i also really want to tour pompeii, i've always been fascinated by it and it's actually one of my special interests/hyperfixations. i collect books, documentaries, artwork and replica jewelry, etc. and i've cosplayed cassia from the film pompeii (2014), i've gone to museum exhibitions, etc. and i'm just fascinated with ancient rome. i'm also part italian also i need to have my lizzie mcguire move moment, haha. i'd also love to see where the blue lagoon was filmed on turtle island in fiji.

daisy: my greatest accomplishment was making it this far lmao my senior project before graduating university with my bachelor's degree in english. it's not the education or the merit or the stupid piece of paper, but the fact that i got to bring my passion into my experience and dedicate my time as a student to my passion with no rules and i got to make it entirely my own and put my heart and soul into it. i wrote a huge paper on a deep character analysis of billy hargrove (stranger things), the most hated but truly misunderstood character on the show to defend him and explain that he wasn't a bad person. he was a deeply complex character who had been an abuse victim his whole life and reacted in such extreme/alarming/unhealthy ways from a place of trauma. i did my heavy research with a psychological approach, quoting and including excerpts from psychology professionals and studies on the long-term effects in abused children, using freud's psychological coping mechanisms with textual examples from "runaway max". i included detailed passages where billy was being beaten bloody by his father, tense moments of microaggressions that built up, insinuations, the description of a physical attack that wasn’t seen but heard, the constant threats, how nobody knew what happened behind closed doors except for max, how billy was unfairly regarded as a "monster" when the real one was his father just because he wasn't a sweet, sugar coated soft boi. i wish i could share it here because i nailed it, the information i delivered and the way i was able to make such strong points... i did it. i slayed. i blew them all away. i could have single handedly converted antis with this. either way, i proved them wrong in their hatred and even used the duffers' actual screenplay to reveal billy's true colors and that he was a hero, with the valuable and positive traits people are blind to because they only take him for the negative moments at face value. the class showcased their senior projects at a ceremony, and one girl came up to me and said she hated billy because "he was (....ist, ...ist, blah blah blah, you know what they say)" and i told her "well, that's why i chose this as my project so hopefully others can reevaluate him in a different light and appreciate him." and she walked away. not one of my snotty classmates even stopped to look at my beautifully done posterboard, which was honestly better looking than the rest of them (they just slapped lined paper on theirs, bare minimum) and i didn't care what those uppity, cliquey, preppy little brats thought because i got to make the biggest and most critical assignment of my college experience about something close to my heart. billy hargrove is my favorite character of all time because not only is he deep, multi dimensional and complex, but he's raw and authentic, unapologetic in his emotional intensity and he's just trying to survive an abusive parent. all things i can personally relate to.

i didn't care about the grade or any of that (even though I got an A+), this was a project that came to fruition out of pure love and the fire i have for pop culture and my fandoms. i finally got to apply that to my life and my current role, and i enjoyed every second of it and the powerful impact it had. i am still so very proud of it and have the posterboard in my room, i'm keeping it forever. dacre montgomery himself would be proud of me. i'm proud of myself and love that i had the chance and the time and creativity to do that, especially with the chronic limited energy and fast burnout that i have.

A/N: I did not want to say anything , this isn’t much just a small thing that crossed my mind when I wasn’t feeling very nice and just wanted a hug. Lately I haven’t been in a good place mentally and I thought writing would help it dosen’t seem like it has been working. Anywho I’ll stopmy ranting now and let’s get to this mediocre peice of writing.

Pairing: Tommy Shelby x Reader

Sleepless nights spent waiting for him, wasn’t a new thing for Y/n she was well aware of her husband’s antics and was well adjusted, at least that’s what she believed, but the neighbors would tell a different story, the screaming matches that either turned into nights of passionate fucking or ended with slamming of the door of the infamous Shelby Residence was heard by all. But she was naïve enough to believe that tonight would be any different, nevertheless she waited like she always did.

That night Tommy Shelby sneaked into his own house like a thief, carefully avoiding all the creaking wood, trying not to wake up his beautifully wrathful wife. He noiselessly shut the bedroom door behind him, still being quite as a cat, he started undressing himself,

“You are home”, the sudden voice startled him.

Unlike every night, tonight he felt the need to defend himself, “I am sorry, there was a problem at Charlie’s-”

She cut him off before he could spin yarns around her “Shhhhh don't, just come to bed please”

“I don’t want to fight” she added, pulling the blankets to her chin, and turning her back towards him, he stripped down to his boxer and climbed in, he settled behind her pulling her in his chest.

“I am sorry I ruined your birthday” He murmured quietly, kissing the back of her head

“Mhmm… me too” She turned in his arms and mumbled while gazing at him, there wasn’t any anger or disappointment in her eyes, only pure adoration.

“What?” He asked pulling back a little, trying to read her mind, he did that often with people, tried to read them and anticipate their moves before they could strike him, but it never worked with his lovely wife, she was a creature of mystery to him.

“Nothing” She nuzzled in his chest, trying to be impossibly close to him.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

“I am memorizing what you look like next to me, in our bed, after all it's such a rare sight” There it is he thought, a subtle jab at his obviously unforgivable behaviour.

“Thought you didn't want to fight” He chuckled nervously,

“I don’t”

“By the time I wake up you'll be long gone, so let me just savour this moment….lock up that tired but handsome smile in my memory box” She said without any hint of contempt.

“Tired eh?” He flipped her, and softly tickled her till she was thrashing and begging him to stop,

“I also said handsome” She said against his lips, as he hovered over her determined to give his missus a much deserved birthday gift.

The gentle morning sun peeking through the window, woke Tommy up from his peaceful slumber, he squinted his eyes and looked to his side to find his wife, and admire her before he left for the meeting with the Lees by the docks. But he saw that she had pulled the sheets over her head and was desperately avoiding the sun, Y/n was never a morning person, she absolutely hated waking up early which was never a problem because who would dare to question Mrs Shelby even if she walked in at 11 or 12 in the betting shop after all her husband was the boss and she was his boss.

He ducked under the sheets, which did not shield her completely and he could see all her raw beauty, her swollen lips curled in the most adorable frown, her slightly furrowed eyebrows and her naked body against his, all made him realize what a fucking idiot he was, and he wanted nothing more than to, never leave her side, never have her wake up alone ever again, he wanted to achieve the impossible for her.

“Good morning love” He said while kissing her forehead,

“5 more minutes”, she mumbled curling up against him, then abruptly withdrew herself from him and looked at him with pure disbelief,

“You are here” She touched his face, to check if he was real.

“Mhmm” He hummed affirmatively, “I am, and I am going to be here a lot more often, maybe to the point where you'll get sick of me and kick me out”

“Promise?” She asked with the biggest smile on her face, and that moment he knew he will give her anything she asked for, and more.
