My idea is that everything is almost the same: the whole of Dark Era happened, Dazai left, the bomb in the car happened, the whole thing. But!

In the Dark Era light novel, when Dazai goes to Mori to request help for Oda, he mentions forming a "small team of executive-level ability users". Obviously, that idea never came to be, but Chuuya fits that description, so what if Dazai had followed through on that idea? Because of the timing, Oda still dies, that team never made it, but now Chuuya is involved in that mess.

The aftermath of Dark Era has grey areas, and by playing with that, Chuuya, now personally involved in these events, struggles to accept Mori's "sacrifices (of our own people) must be made for the greater good" philosophy, realizes the threat can come from the inside, and after a while, decides that he needs to leave and find a better way to protect (not save!) people.

While Dazai goes directly to Taneda, we know Chuuya has history with Ango (plus he's also involved in this) and that's who he goes to for help. Ango knows about Dazai's plans, mentions Chuuya to Taneda, and Taneda is delighted. He decides to do the same thing with Chuuya he's doing with Dazai. The PM just manipulated them into giving out a legal permit, two can play at that game.

And that's what leads us to a two-year-long buildup to Taneda's greatest punchline yet

merlin’s secret being a visual thing. when he is around arthur or gwen or leon or morgana or [insert whatever character here] merlin seems pale and thin, almost like a ghost or an apparition. when the sun lands on him he reflects it like a corpse, he eyes seem dark and dull. he has this ethereal beauty to him, this otherworldly visage that leads many to believe he is of fae blood. he just doesn’t seem to be 100% human. but when he is ONLY with lancelot or gaius (cough or gwaine bc gwaine DEFINITELY knew) merlin is heartachingly human. merlin shines in the sunlight, colors are brighter and more vibrant around him, and his smiles are wide and his laughs are boisterous. he takes on color and leaves everyone wanting to know him. but when other join in or interact with the two, merlin shifts before their eyes so quickly and suddenly that they aren’t sure whether or not what they saw was a trick of the light. the idea still leaves them wanting more and wanting to see the merlin who is just so full of life but that merlin only appears for a small select group of people. merlin who has a guard so high that it has an effect of other’s perception of him.

I think it'd be kinda funny if Dick got (marginally) a better outcome from his divorces than Tim just to highlight how much Tim fucked up. Dick's still driving the struggle bus but Tim's bus got the wheels and engine stolen. Two divorcees in the house and one of them is making things worse for himself than they ought to be while the other hit rock bottom face first with a replay cam.

Dickvorcee is smart enough to have gotten prenups (used to people trying to use him to get the Wayne fortune) and the court gave him at least primary if not full custody of his kids...whether he actually has the money to support those kids is a different story bc his exes are free and don't have to pay anything + Dick's had a stick up his ass for YEARS about not accepting more help/support from Bruce. Good luck sending even one of those kids to college on that job rotation. Dick's on okay terms with his exes but it's hard to tell whether it's bc he still loves them or he's putting on a good face for the kids. His bad joints + bad job combo makes him miserable and grumpy and takes away his Just Keep Moving coping mechanism since he can't really jump/run/flip around anymore. Pent up anger he has to repress so the kids and Bruce don't pester him about it, but he does get petty and snappier around others. Goes to therapy to manage it but it's tapping deep into that trust fund. Also the kids do love their dad bc they can see Dick's trying and also there's an example of a worse dad (Tim) closeby

Bonus points if Tim on multiple occasions tries to tell Dick how to raise the kids/treat them better and everybody's like dude you don't even get to SEE your kids. Bruce has more credit than you (believability and financially). Tim is probably trying to redeem his bad parenting by trying to be good to Dick's kids but they dgaf and just roast him. Bet Tim caught them playing house a few times where the scenarios were eerily close to his messy divorces

I keep going back and forth on who dicks one divorce should be between babs, kori and Roy- kori and Roy are good bc they both have canon kids which means I don't have to come up with little oc children (ocs in general really aren't my wheel house so getting out of designing a kid for dick would be amazing) but on the other hand I really don't like dickbabs as a relationship so to be able to have an outlet for that dislike by saying yeah they'd definitely get divorced is very tempting - I don't think dick has full custody I think he is doing better then tim but that bar is low and that basically just means he has visitation rights - a few people have suggested I make dick a cop again but thats a wee bit too depressing an outcome even for this au so I'm thinking instead dick was a cop again for a time but his efforts to fix the force from the inside just resulted in him making more enemies as dick grayson that have really been fucking up his life

I can't believe I live in a reality where a white woman who was falsely accused of rape can sell BLM merch, keep the money, and be praised by tik tok, but a queer musician that everyone thinks is "cringe" gets canceled and accused "profiting from a child's death" by talking about Nex Benedict in a tik tok he earned $0 from, where all he said was "this is why I make the music that I do".

Teddie has just such peak little brother energy in teh gameshow it's lowkey hilarious, like he just...debunks a point off Yosuke just because he can and Yosuke still ends up agreeing to do the rest of the games... (also can we appreciate he put this together under Yosuke's nose? Like they live together, they work together, Teddie had to find time somewhere to get himself a costume and the whole setup and all the trivia facts even if he could just whip up half the stuff from being part Shadow)
