Hii! I was wondering something about cTechno, but I don't understand that much about his lore, so since you're the oficial Techno specialist I'll ask you. (to be honest I have like a million questions about cTechno, but I'm not gonna annoy you with all of them at once, I'll just ask the one I'm curious about right now)
Who do you think is his favorite/least favorite between Wilbur and Tommy?
I mean, Techno has a complicated relationship with Tommy (and I gotta admit, I'm not sure what's his opinion on Tommy, if he hates or cares for him, or maybe is just upset with him), and Wilbur was a president (government) and a traitor. So like, which one of these two do you do you think he liked (or maybe dislike, if he doesn't like any of them) the most?
Hehe, Official Techno Specialist. I'm not sure if I'm worthy of that title but I will do my best o7 I certainly adore him a whole lot and have thoughts about him constantly. I also love talking about cTechno and answering questions so definitely don't feel scared you'll annoy me. I could talk about that man all day <3
Regarding this specific question though, what matters somewhat is 1) obviously Techno's relationship with both Wilbur and Tommy changes over the course of the story so it kind of depends on what point in the narrative we're looking at and 2) human relationships are very complicated, probably too complicated to boil down to just 'like' and 'dislike'. Especially since his relationships with Wilbur and Tommy are some of the more complicated ones in Techno's lore (especially Tommy).
When it comes to a character like c!Techno specifically, in wanting to know if he likes somebody it's often a lot more useful to look at whether he trusts them.
During Pogtopia, Techno clashes more with Tommy's abrasive attitude and the way he constantly uses Techno for help, with little regard for what Techno actually wants. It's probably safe to say Techno liked Wilbur a bit more at that point, mostly because they were on the same page, though he didn't dislike Tommy necessarily. Techno also felt as if Wilbur was using him to some extent, but since their goals aligned, he was less bothered by it. After the Red Festival, Techno's trust in Wilbur was severely damaged though. And then Nov 16th happened, which Techno regarded as an even bigger betrayal.
After Nov 16th Techno shows fondness and a soft spot for Ghostbur, but also for Tommy in taking him in after exile. Techno clearly doesn't hate either of them but also doesn't trust them (again, especially Tommy). It should be noted that out of all the characters, Techno has a more consistent record of treating Ghostbur as a separate entity from Wilbur. Which is why Techno is able to be pretty chill around him, despite his feelings toward Wilbur's actions.
During this arc, he grows closer to Tommy and a measure of trust builds between them. Again, it's safe to say Techno liked Tommy more than Wilbur (or even Ghostbur) at this point. until the Green Festival, which was another instance of personal betrayal for Techno and one he actually was more hurt by than Nov 16th still.
There are little hints throughout the rest of the story that Techno still does not hate Tommy but he definitely does not trust him and was very hurt by his actions. And that carries a much greater weight for him. The same thing goes for Wilbur - after he was revived, Techno made it pretty clear he didn't trust Wilbur at all. Though again, I wouldn't say he disliked him either. He was pretty neutral about the whole apology thing, though appreciated that Wilbur took responsibility for disregarding Techno's autonomy and using him as a means to an end.
Both relationships are ones where Techno cares about the person involved to some degree, but they also hurt them in such a way that it's impossible to trust them. He neither overtly likes nor dislikes them, the relationships are volatile and that means Techno will guard himself and keep a distance.
Overall though, I'd lean towards saying Techno both likes AND dislikes Tommy more than Wilbur because their relationship was more intense in both directions.

Oh, thank you, my day is good, but after your message it got even better! I really found solace on Tumblr, which I could not find either in these terrible comics or in LOTR. To be honest, I hardly mastered the latter at all, literally forcing myself to watch series after series, searching in vain for the former depth of characters and conflict. In my opinion, LOTR is a complete failure on all fronts, with the exception of high-quality drawing. If it's about comics, it's an illogical development of events, which, unfortunately, is laid down in the last series. I wanted to ask you -how do you feel about Ursa's line? I was offended by her decision to leave the children (of course, it happened against her will, but still -to change her face and personality, forget about her beloved son and lead a happy life with an old lover?! Don't get it wrong, a woman should suffer for the rest of her days because of a failed marriage, she should not give up happiness if fate sends. But in the context of this story, in your opinion, does it not look like a betrayal, first of all of herself (Ursa?), and of course her children. She couldn't help but understand what kind of hell they got into, first of all the son, after her disappearance. And if you also disagree with this "canon", what would you see the fate of Zuko and Azula's mother? (sorry for such a long letter!)
hi again! thank you, you're so sweet!
i 100% feel you on both LOK (i'm guessing LOTR is a typo?) and the comics. it's so disappointing because both the show and the comics have some great conceptual ideas, and in the hands of competent writers, could've been excellent continuations of ATLA and worthwhile successors... but instead we got a flaming pile of garbage that deserves to be at the bottom of the sea.
the search isn't the worst atla comic imo (that honour goes to the promise) but it's definitely doing its damn best to earn that spot. i hate so many things about that comic: the outdated, insulting depictions of mental illness and mental healthcare in azula's story, zuko getting a "replacement sister" in kiyi as a fix-it bandaid, the fact that it becomes a whole gaang adventure when the correct narrative choice would've been for zuko and katara (and maybe azula at most) to take this trip together as a full circle from the southern raiders, katara and sokka's only role in the story being to foil zuko and azula and nothing else, and of course... the complete annihilation of everything ursa's character was set up to be in atla.
i agree with you that it is very much a betrayal of ursa's character for her to willingly lose her memories. she knows she's leaving her children in the hands of a dangerous abuser, one who's already molding her daughter into a lethal weapon and was fully ready to murder her son, who has proven his willingness to sacrifice his children without hesitation if it benefits him. but despite this, despite the fact that she committed murder, accepted exile and even risked her life (for she had no way of knowing if ozai would simply let her leave peacefully) to protect her child... suddenly she's willing to throw all of that away and fuck off with her childhood lover at the first opportunity?
Tumblr media
it baffles me why bryke didn't at least make ursa's memory loss an accident, which would've both explained her absence and why she never went to look for her children without committing character assassination in the process - but that's probably expecting too much logical writing from those two.
i'm actually planning a post-canon book 4 zutara fic that would include a rewrite of the search, where ursa didn't just fuck off to do nothing, but actually had a redemption arc very similar to zuko's after secretly fleeing to live in the earth kingdom and seeing the damage the war had done. she takes it upon herself to right the fire nation's wrongs, and grows particularly invested in air nomad culture, seeing it as her duty to try and bring back some of what the genocide had destroyed. shortly before zuko's banishment she sets out to find the remnants of a people long believed to be gone - and finds that maybe they're not entirely gone after all.
i won't spoil the rest, but i think it'll both explain why ursa never went back for zuko and azula while still giving her a meaningful story that didn't involve just swapping one family for another. if only we'd gotten something similar in the comics but alas... bryke gonna bryke.
thanks for the ask! no worries about it being long, i thoroughly enjoy reading your thoughts <3

I finished reading Thrawn...
Oh my God.
Don't give Eli Vanto a cigarette, give him a full shipping container of them instead.
What the heck have I just read? This story is... very interesting, to say the least. I have fallen down the Thrawn rabbit hole deeper than I had anticipated, and well, curiosity killed the cat as they say. Before this, I knew only a few things: he is a Chiss, he held the rank of Senior Captain with the Chiss Expansionary Defence Fleet (for that I have to thank my rather shallow digging on Tumblr, not the Ascendancy books that I might or might not read sometime in the future), and the Empire found him exiled on some godforsaken planet. Except that this man claimed almost at the end of the book, while "negotiating" with the Nightswan on Batonn, that he hadn't been sent to exile by his own people in the first place. Now I can say that I don't understand a blasted thing here. So, had he been exiled, or was it a ploy to probe at the Empire's existence to deem whether sleazy Palpatine was a future threat to the Chiss Ascendancy, or what the heck is going on here?
Also, I got more than I bargained for. I guess sending Eli Vanto, whom Thrawn nurtured for bridge officer corps instead of Eli's dreamed career with some supply chain, to the Ascendancy made sense in a way. Right now, I still know nothing about the Chiss, but the whiff I caught around the internet tells me that they might be superior to the Empire also in the navy training... Well, I guess I'm fine with that.
But Arihnda Pryce. I've never watched Rebels, and I knew her only from some stories circling around. And I've never liked that woman. Then Zahn describes her as a badass who learned how to cheat politicians in the best school of life (by that I mean Coruscant, of course), and I liked that idea. Shows nicely that the Empire has the same plague going on in high places as the Republic. But then she pulls that crazy stunt at Batonn in the end? I hate her. And I take it very personally. How dare she? What will she gain from butchering a whole mine of people? Was her murdering the ISB agent the only motive necessary to detonate the explosives? Really, this was some arc I didn't anticipate.
It was almost laughable how Thrawn went through one court-martial after another, only to have the charges dropped and himself promoted. It might be hilarious to read the scenes of those court-martials themselves. Except there weren't any direct ones. What a pity.
And tell me, why was ISB Colonel Yularen satisfied with that simplistic explanation of Thrawn's? And did he eavesdrop to the entire conversation with Nightswan or not? It would be funnier if he held the blueberry man at the blaster point for some time longer. Like... Those about ten pages of this scene were the best of the whole story, to my opinion, and I would gladly have them framed on my wall if I wasn't bristling over the idea of destroying a book. That was some content giving me chills and laugh of my recent life, both at the same time. And it also left me immensely hungry for another serving. I just need to know where this story will lead the reader to!
Frankly, not many books do this specific thing to me. Maybe because I generally avoid reading a series, because these started growing madly like mushrooms after the rain, and we know what some authors do to their readers: abuse their trust by postponing the next book, giving lame excuses (we are looking at you, G.R.R. Martin, you are the leading jerk of them) - or they write so quickly I can't read their rather sloppy story anymore. How lucky for me that this Thrawn trilogy has been published already. And it's not sloppy at all.
Let's go read some more!
Maybe I will then abandon my wish to play a round or two of Dejarik with this warlord mastermind.

I made a Chip Mixtape
It follows Chip's development over the JRWI riptide plot starting with his backstory, going up until ep #70 (no spoilers past there!)
(CWs for heavy Chip Trauma™, as it covers everything including Hole in the Sea, all the Price stuff etc. Stay safe friends!)
This mix is gonna be on a C90 (90 min) tape! The split between side A and side B is after song 11 :)
Plot/song explainations under the cut! You should read them :D (but only if u want to)
(listen along for best effect >:] )
Side A
Here's a Health to the Company - I've always loved this song as a representation of the Black Rose crew. Despite the fact it's about a positive experience, it's so steeped in nostalgic grief, which describes Chip's longing for his childhood pretty aptly.
Ship in a Bottle - I used this to represent the moment of the Hole in the Sea because I think it is a good representation of, not what actually happened, but what happened in 10 year old Chip's memory. The emphasis in the lyrics on isolation and responsibility is particularly notable, because I feel that being unable to help his crew, he'd feel responsible for that. The lyrics about lack of control also make this song, in my opinion, work.
Edge of the World - This song is supposed to represent the progression Chip's mind as he drifts on the sea and washes up. The reason I chose it was because of how well the song depicts the slow loss of a person's innocence: the slow decline and way the music slowly builds up and strips itself back really adds to the overall effect.
The Guide to Success - The SECOND I heard this song I thought of Reuben Price and Chip. The fact it's a lighthearted song really adds to it, it does such a good jobs at depicting the way Price wraps his fucked-up ideals and plans in smiles and deception, the way he slowly changes from "genuine" advice to manipulation. It just feels like a perfect fit.
Everyone - This song is about the memory of Chip's past he gives up in Noctis, and what he was forced to do. I think this song speaks for itself, so I won't try to overexplain.
Sleep Awake - This one is the aftermath of the previous memory. He can't do these things anymore, he feels he is losing himself. He's realising that something needs to change, though he doesn't know what yet. If he hadn't worked out before Price was manipulating before, he knows now.
Burning Pile - This is where Chip finally realises exactly what he needs to do. He needs to leave. This isn't a good place for him. He needs to make a way out, else he'll never find one.
Fire - Other than being a literal representation of Price's place being destroyed, it is showing the moment in which Chip's mess of feelings finally bubble to the service, his "exile" moment. He's out of control, but in a way that scares him far more than any before, because in this moment, he is seeing Price in himself. He feels he has to do this, because otherwise he'll stay trapped, but he regrets it even as it's happening.
Mostly - This song shows the aftermath of his escape, the moment the adrenaline leaves his system and he's finally alone with his thoughts. He realises, although he's finally free, he has no idea what to do now. It's been so long since he's been truly alone, and this is the moment where everything finally hits him, and he's free to let every emotion wash over him.
Prologue - This spans the time between his escape and Riptide episode 1: It shows his slow recovery, the development of his many coping mechanisms (particularly his lying) and his slow path towards moving on, at least from Price.
Run The World!!! - Chip's found himself a crew. He's making his mark on the world on his own terms, and he's found some other misfits to do it with. He's still hurt, but he's healing, slowly but surely.
Side B
I'm not a good person - This shows Chip's mindset towards himself throughout the whole Loffinlot arc. He is CONSTANTLY throught this arc making selfish decisions, decisions that he KNOWS are selfish. His instincts are not used to factoring in other people, because he's been alone for a LONG time now, and he knows he probably shouldn't be doing these things but he does them anyway. Chip really doesn't think highly of himself at ALL, he hasn't for a while, if he ever did, and now he's suddenly besties with somebody declaring themselves a beacon of all things holy and good (aka everything Chip thinks he's not). His self-worth at this point is kinda fucked, at this point it's like he doesn't think he's worth enough to make choices that aren't self-destructive.
Liar - This one is representative of the casino arc. Chip's constant lying, he knows it's wrong, but he can't help himself, because it's so easy, so much easier than telling the truth. It's not until he finds himself thinking he's going to die that he tells Gillion what he's done, but in that moment I think Chip is confessing about more than lying about bugs, although I don't think he realises.
My Ugly - This is representing the battle in the ice arena or more specifically, Chip's mental state through all of it. His refusal to stop fighting until he is literally unable to stand because he thinks Gillion needs this is uhhh fucked up, and even then the only reason the fight stips is Jay intervenes. Chip thinks of so little of himself, and it all comes to a head here. In this case, "my ugly" is his trauma, and how it's affected him. He knows he's a bit fucked up. he wishes he wasn't.
We'll Never Have Sex - This is the desire island arc, but more specifically, it's about the kiss. Whether or not it was romantic or platonic, I think it probably meant a lot to Chip, keeping in mind directly before it he was having a breakdown about the fact that nobody would ever love him. The fact that this was a gesture with no malicious intent, no lies, no manipulation. It was probably the first show of any kind of genuine affection Chip had recieved since he was 10 years old. Platonic or otherwise, I think this was an important moment for him. This song (I hope) portrays that.
Rule #28 - Sand - This is meant to be about the feelings Chip has finding Lizzie again. They've both changed, but he is so glad to find confirmation he's not the only one. He still misses the Black Rose, and he desparately mourns them, but he is finally willing to accept the past, as there's now the possibility, in his mind, of it being his future. It's a flawed mindset, as he is still trying to live in what once was, but it's a step forward.
Blunders - This song is mostly a filler, covering the arcs between Joaldo and Allport, with a particular focus on the vibe of the adventures in Edison Kingdom. This segment is predominantly just Chip finally accepting that his crew are actually staying with him, that this isn't a fleeting moment of stability.
DEBT COLLECTORS - This is the moment everything starts to fall apart, when Price's assassin tries to kill Earl. Chip was halfway though healing and Price sends all that crashing to the ground. Chip sees it as karma.
Your Sister Was Right - That self-worth Chip had been slowly rebuilding was suddenly destroyed. He feels he needs to isolate himself again, for the good of those around him. he refuses their help because he doesn't want them to get hurt because of him. He doesn't think he's worth it.
Sleep With a Baseball Bat - And then he gets scratched by a kitty who makes him think all of his worst fears are coming true!! Yay!! Chip's paranoia has returned worse than ever, he can't sleep because he needs to continually remind himself that everyone is still here and they're okay, that his fragile equilibrium has not been shattered.
Rule #21 - Momento Mori - This covers the start of the Noctis arc (before he sleeps) where Chip has truly lost connection with the world around him. He's running off fumes, guilt and paranoia.
Dancing - This bit is the aftermath of Chip's decision with Grimm. He chose to save everyone instead of curing his curse. He's still not doing great, but he's now fighting it on his own terms, which counts for something.
It's Alright - Chip gets to Liquidis, and his curse is lifted. His friends have seen the darkest depths of his mind, his greatest fears, and they're still here. His friends fought his demons for him. He's still here. It's going to be okay.
Born For This - Finally, Chip's on the path to healing. He's ready to stop living in the past. He's ready to fuck shit up, help those in need, and be the best goddamn pirate the world has ever seen.

For the ask meme, 002 entrapta
Thank you for the ask! uwu
How I feel about this character: the best gremlin princess who deserves the world <3 Love her character, adore her design and aesthetic - I want to squish her like a stress toy, she's so cute and fun and cool and OP it's unbearable sometimes! 😔
All the people I ship romantically with this character: nggh i'm so boring when it comes to this stuff, but i only ship her with Hordak, do not care for other ships *shrugs*
My non-romantic OTP for this character: I'll say Entrapta and Kadroh, aka her future brother in law^^ Love their dynamic!
Oh and I also like the potential of Entrapta and Adora as a duo - honestly I wish they could interact more in canon! Adora was among the few who was always nice to her and never did her wrong, seeing Entrapta as a person rather than just a useful tool. Plus sometimes they give off such simillar vibes and they can be hilarious when together, I can totally see them becoming much closer friends post season 5!
My unpopular opinion about this character: I'm not a big fan of Entrapta's relationship/friendship with Darla and several jokes in s5 about her wanting to fuck a robot. Personally, it does make me a tiny bit uncomfortable, but my main complaint is not about that. What I'm trying to say is that it's season 5, the final season, and yet Entrapta is still more eager to interact and spend time with robots and anchient ALs than real people. There are Entrapta's supposed friends on the ship with her, and yet Entrapta spends most of the time with Darla or around new tech she found. I get that she's always excited about tech, but Entrapta went through an entire character arc about friendship and learned a lot about relationships and people, she literally wanted to find new friends who are not robots?? And yet in the final season it still doesn't feel like she's friends with anyone from the main cast. On one hand there are the princesses, their bulling and ableism, and on the other there's the best friends squad in which Entrapta was never included despite all the time she spent with them - and for the most part it felt like Entrapta wasn't actually with them, that she's all by herself on her own mission, just a crewmember and not a part of the team. She spends the whole season around people she's not really closed to and they never become closer even after their many adventures together. It makes Entrapta's interest in Darla even more understandable, but also sad. It lowkey feels like a character regression to me, but it's just my opinion.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: ooh i wish so many things had happened in canon. Like an actual scene of Entrapta finding the luvd crystal, or her reunion with Scorpia and Emily (and Imp!), or her still having some conflicting feelings towards Hordak - since she was feeling conficted back on Beast Island and there was no one who could tell her that Hordak was lied to and didn't know about her exile
But what would I want to see the most is Entrapta actually being allowed to be angry at Catra for what she did to her. Yes Entrapta forgives her, it's fine it's her choice, but at least let her be upset!! Let her being sent to die not be treated like a joke/just an inconvenience and sidelined by more Catra angst. That scene where Catra and Entrapta finally meet and Catra apologizes to her was once again about her own feelings only and never about Entrapta's. Even though Beast Island was this huge traumatic experience for her! She was willing to die there, give in to the signal because she felt like she was the problem and all her relationships failed because of her EVEN THOUGH she was literally betrayed by Catra and left behind yet again and gfphifphpg
I'm ranting at this point so I'll shut up now. In short, yeah, would be nice if Entrapta was allowed to feel upset, even if just for a moment
my OTP: Entrapdak, of course^^
my cross over ship: do not have one!
a headcanon fact: she bites and she bites HARD. Entrapta has many chewing toys/medallions but they usually don't last long. On rare occasions when she feels an urge to bite (usually when she's stressed/annoyed or in a deep thinking process) and her hands are unprotected she might bite her own palm and fingers. But nowdays her favorite target is Hordak)) No matter if she's excited or angry or anxious or bored - if Hordak is at arm's lenght from her Entrapta will gently nom on his ears, arms, shoulders or thighs. Hordak doesn't feel any pain or serious discomfort, but getting used to it was not easy, cause sometimes Entrapta warns him and sometimes it happenes unexpectedly :p

so one piece huh? what’s your opinion on Donflamingo 👀
GOOOOODDDDD I love to hate this man! The Dressrosa Arc is imo one of the best arcs of the anime besides Marineford, Enies Lobby, Whole Cake, Wano Kuni, etc, and he's certainly as grand a villain as the arc was! Fucking Warlord of the Sea, terrorizing entire islands, subjugated an entire nation, ran the Smile Fruit trade for Kaidou, like Jesus, the finishing blow from Luffy that finally took this guy out WAS SO FUCKING POWERFUL IT BASICALLY CRACKED THE ENTIRE NATION IN HALF and he STILL LIVED, homie's just kicking it in prison! He may even still be pulling strings in prison too, given his status as a Celestial Dragon and Warlord
Like shit, there's so many interesting little facets of his character. First off and most importantly he's canonically 10 ft tall. Dude's huge! But not 👀 impossible to fit like say Katakuri or Kaidou 👀 maybe 👀 hopefully 👀 with a lil elbow grease 👀
He's selfish and cruel and this (mostly) stems from his birthright as a Celestial Dragon where he quite literally sees himself as a different species from humans, superior to them even by simply existing. He wants whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, and if you won't give it to him, he'll take it and utterly ruin you in the process for daring to defy him. But he's also so full of hatred and malice from his childhood and that borderline insanity is constantly seeping through the cracks in his character. He literally unlocked his Conqueror's Haki when an angry mob was trying to burn him alive, a child, and that was AFTER living in extreme poverty with his exiled family and having his mother, someone who he did actually genuinely legitimately love, succumb to illness and pass away.
He's a man who wants everything, but now that he's an adult a lot of that is coming from pure spite. He wants it all, but what he can't have or can't control will be burned to the ground. The other Celestials of Mariejois left his family to die, so now he wants to see them struggle and suffer and fall just like his family did. He's a man who considers himself a God and wants to kill said other gods in retaliation. He wants to be the only one remaining on top
But he's also! Not completely heartless! This asshole douchebag has DEPTH! When he first meets Law, he's later seen reading a book about where Law came from and the tragedy surrounding it, suggesting he has some level of empathy for Law's situation. He literally has PTSD nightmares and it's implied he's potentially an alcoholic bc of it. He's literally like 41 and thinking of his childhood STILL makes him become FURIOUS. When he finds out about Vergo and Monet, he's visibly upset, not just because his Smile Fruit factory is trashed, but because you just killed two members of his family, as dark and mafioso as it is, it's still his family that he found and made for himself.
There's also something to be said like "you can tell a lot about a man by the people he associates with" and, case in point, Senor Pink. A true man right there.
And last but certainly not least... this man is flexible as fuck. He constantly delivers high kicks where he raises his leg higher than his own head. You know the dick is insane.
So yeah I guess you could say I'm a fan 👉👈

Wistful Waltz - a puffychu fanmix
tracklist + notes under the cut!
SO! first thing first this is based on the dynamic ive created for them in my head. its how i think they should have played out if we had gotten more character interactions. so keep in mind this is mostly opinion of my own. either way i hope you enjoy!
this is technically two playlists in one, or rather two separate narratives happening alongside eachother. this is done intentionally to show how puffy and niki are at no point in their relationship 'on the same wave'. they have different ideas and expectations which just. Do Not Get Talked About. leading to a massive issue of miscommunication.
A Wistful Waltz - Teddy Hyde
Relativity proves That I'll see you soon
the beginning. this song encompasses their starting dynamic as well as highlighting obvious issues which will only get worse as time passes. its a dance, they waltz together to pass the days in simple peace. theres no need to speak or fight, just exist together. but of course the waltz must come to an end and they leave with that as the basis of their relationship. and with the belief that they will see eachother soon.
Exist For Love by AURORA
And then you take me in And everything in me begins to feel like I belong Like everybody needs a home
niki pov. nikis main drive is the need for community. the need for friends and love. and at this point she has that. schlatt is dead! its new l'manburg! and yes it seems the cabinet is moving on without her and wilbur, her best friend, is dead but, she just went on a date with a pretty girl! everything is turning up roses. and even when she does feel sad she knows she can depend on puffy. if she pours her entire self into this relationship is destined to work.
Love Like This - Kodaline
The sun will stop shining soon And you'll be dark in my life Yeah, you'll be gone, it's as simple as a change of heart But I'm not gonna think about the future
puffy pov. puffy on the other hand, is not having these thoughts. while she loves niki and shes truly having fun, she just doesnt need it. she wants it but nothing you want ever lasts long. and puffy doesnt understand how niki is feeling because she came onto the server post-doomsday. aswell on the fact that niki wont talk because their relationship isnt built on deep conversations, its built on fleeting moments of enjoyment spent together. to puffy, the end is inevitable because nothing lasts forever but she will enjoy while she can.
I Don't Wanna Be Okay Without You - Charlie Burg
But I only think of you Will we be together soon? I'm thrown to the wayside You're planted in my mind, alright
But I don't wanna be okay without you
niki pov. time goes on and niki begins to find herself more isolated from her friends. tommy was exiled, dreams gaining control over new l'manburg, and everyone is moving on to do new things. so she turns to find comfort in puffy, an ever growing dependence on that fragile stability.
See You - Lady Lamb
Have we fucked ourselves over? Making our world so right Overnight
puffy pov. this is a song meant in jest. its puffy joking about the way their 'perfect' relationship came to be. a base of sweet nothings and simple songs cant form a serious relationship, not in the way niki desires. puffy knows this but she wont make any move to change it because she doesnt need to.
Cassiopeia - Anju
The both of us are breathing in each other's ears Our secrets speak different languages Still your whisper's clear

niki pov. she is trying to move on. keyword: trying. but at least it ends on a fairly happy note!

Okay so I just got to Clingy Duo's big argument before Tommy is exiled and I gotta say, c!Tommy is pissing me off so much.... It's great, I love it
So, even though it's been way too long since this arc happened and I am merely throwing words at a wall, I need to write down my personal opinion on this whole mess
So uh, on the affirmations that Tommy was 1) not acting selfishly, and 2) the only one to have compromised something for L'Manburg up until now, and the affirmation that Tubbo is getting closer to becoming the tyrant Schlatt was... (i read so many comments on the videos i watched about their argument claiming this):
(just warning that bellow are my unfiltered, biased opinions on this whole thing, so if you're very fond of Tommy, you might not agree very much with what i wrote)
((also, no, I don't hate Tommy, he just really annoyed me during his fight with Tubbo))
(((also also, don't take this too seriously, I literally just needed to write these thoughts down somewhere)))
-> Tommy is being super freaking selfish and Tubbo is definitely in the right here
Everyone has sacrificed things for L'Manburg already. It's like viewers are so fixated on the idea that Tommy is "the hero", that he's Theseus like Techno predicted, they forget everyone else has been fighting this whole time too.
Just during Schlatt's reign:
-Fundy sacrificed his relationship with his father and friends to become a spy
-Quackity sacrificed his power as vice-president (and if we go back to those days, Quackity did appreciate his position a lot, he used to be pretty power hungry too)
-Willbur sacrificed his goddamn sanity and consequently, his life
-Tubbo sacrificed months of himself as a person, working as a double spy for Pogtopia, putting his safety on the line /every single day/ just so he could give Willbur and Tommy the aid and info they wanted
-Literally every single other L'Manburg citizen? Who fought in the wars, laying down their lives for the country
If sacrificing something for the greater good is what makes someone a hero, then every single one of these people are heroes. Tommy is just one of many
The only things that separate Tommy from the others is Dream's ridiculous obssession with him and Tommy's own childish, reckless, irresponsible attitude
Everyone else is still doing their best rebuilding L'Manburg and trying to protect it, continuing on devoting themselves to the land they've fought so hard to keep. But Tommy has completely shed his "hero" skin already, and is back to being a reckless kid who doesn't think before acting and is ready to throw himself into a fire, causing trouble for petty reasons and playing with forces that are far beyond his reach, uncaring if that means he'll drag his friends down with him too.
Everyone is compromising. Everyone is giving up personal things for the greater good of the country. Even Dream is, to some extent. But Tommy is arguing - claiming he deserves a chance to "put himself first for a change" - as if he were the one single hero, the only one who's had to put aside personal things.
So yeah I'm sorry but no, Tubbo is not becoming corrupted - he is maturing, and growing into the best leader we have seen on this server yet, someone who cares about his people and is able to be level headed when problems arise. And he's still as loyal as ever too! It would be much safer for L'Manburg to exile Tommy from the start. But he still fought for Tommy's freedom. Only when it became the only viable option, did Tubbo truly consider the exile option.
Meanwhile, Tommy is indeed acting selfish. He is only thinking of his own self-interest, ignoring everyone else's needs (heck, ignoring their lives, who are at stake because of him!), disrespecting Tubbo not only as a superior but as a friend and a fellow comrade in battle, acting as if he were the only one who had to give something up, who had to endure things he didn't want to, as if he fought all those goddamn battles alone!
Tommy handing Dream the disks in favor of L'Manburg's independence all those months ago was supposed to be the turning point for him, where Tommy realised that no ammount of material objects, as emotionally attached to them as one could be, could ever compare to a human life (and loved lives at that).
But apparently he hasn't learnt that lesson yet.
And let's be honest, how many times has Tommy even listened to those discs anyway?? They are nothing but pieces of plastic, easily replaceable by others exactly the same, that, ever since Tommy has gotten them, have been collecting dust in someone else's Ender Chest. Tommy has no freaking use for those things, as sentimental items as they might be. They are useless and yet have been the cause of dozens of deaths and are the root of Dream's power over Tommy.
Can Tommy sacrificing his comrades, his whole country, for a couple of dusty discs that he doesn't use really be called anything but pure, petty selfishness? Sorry, but for me the answer is an easy no.
On another, less mad, note, daaaaamn everyone's acting was so good! Dream played off his part as the Big Bad Villain so goddamn well, I am amazed
And Tubbo too, his acting was phenomenal the whole stream! You could feel the hurt in his voice, the barely concealed anxiety over all that's happening, his anger at Tommy mixed with tons of worry for him, his fear of Dream, fear for L'Manburg, Tubbo forcing himself to stay strong and unbiased - like, jesus christ, it's so obvious this is the last thing he wants
Tommy was also great as usual but that I'm already used to - his face is really expressive too, it just adds even more emotion to each scene. He just knows how to entertain his audience
Anywayyy
In conclusion: this season has been super interesting so far and I can't wait to see how Timmy's exile will go, it will probably be chaotic as heck

Hi Mel,I hope you are okay 💕
İ remember once you said that you never watched TGF 3 , it's my favorite part (I feel like I'm the only person in this planet who loves part 3 more than the first two ,maybe because I love the 90s pacino)
Spoiler alert
he divorced Kay in this part, she even married another one but I forgot his name but he was American, there was a part where an Italian song was playing, idk its name but it reminded Michael of apollonia, he even died in Sicily in the exact same place she died
"She was wonderful, beautiful. I loved her. And then she died. My trusted bodyguard planted a bomb in my car. She drove it before I did", that's what michael said, "I loved her" , I'm not saying he didn't love Kay or anything,he asked Kay for forgiveness and they admitted they still love each other, he loved both her and apollonia, even in the ending there was sequence that shows Michael dancing with three women he loved, Mary, Kay and apollonia, he first danced with his daughter, then his first wife, then finally kay
like i said before, I love him with both Kay and apollonia
Tumblr media
I'm surprised that no one brought this in any conversation about Michael, maybe he actually loved her, unlike the books
Anyway, it's my opinion, I even brought evidence, it's your choice if you think he loved her or not,TGF stans always have this Kay, apollonia fight anyways
(sorry if it was long, also I live in turkey, there's a time difference so you're probably asleep 😂)
Have a nice day💕💕
🌹🌹🌹
Hellooooo! ❤️ Yes, I’ve never watched TGF3 and never will (😂) but I’ve read it’s synopsis and my friends who’ve taken one for the team and watched it have explained everything in it to me. 👀 I think it’s very interesting Part III is your favourite!! That would be the first time I’ve heard someone say that and of course, there’s nothing wrong with that. 🫶🏻
I know I shit on the film a lot but pls, I don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea; I’m not being hateful or judging anyone for enjoying TGF3, Apollonia + Michael, etc, I just love hyperanalyzing my favourite thing ever (The Godfather 😅) and putting my opinion out there. If you know me, you know I absolutely LOVE TGF2 to no end. ❤️‍🔥
If we take a look at the ending of TGF2, the last scene, a good 10+ years has passed. Michael’s hair is greying, he’s most likely in his 50s then, but he still wears Kay’s wedding ring. I suspect during Mama Corleone’s funeral times that their divorce was in motion but Michael didn’t move on. He wore the wedding ring for over a decade still, even though Kay did move on.
I feel Kay had to do what was right for her and her children. She gets so much slander for this because we see her doing it in Part II already. She, or Anthony and Mary could have gotten killed the night of the attempted assassination. While dealing with Michael’s lies spanning 7+ years, his criminality continuing, false promises and now Kay and her children’s life literally being in danger, the best thing for Kay to do for Michael was call him out on how their family was falling apart and life was getting dangerous.
The nasty rhetoric against Kay complains she did what was right for her, the children, AND Michael really. You caused so much damage for a decade that you’re losing your family now and yes, Michael deserves this because he didn’t deserve Kay OR Apollonia—in my opinion. Did Kay deserve to spend the rest of her life alone and in misery? Hell no!! Michael needed to realize he lost her because of his OWN actions. She practically told him! 😭
But I’m not disregarding Apollonia’s importance to Michael—not at all. The Sicily arc was impactful but it becomes laughable when I hear that Apollonia (a literal teenager more interested in the money and freedom Michael gave her) changed the trajectory of his life. The book details Michael always had that ruthlessness, coldness and cruelty in him. He joined the family business and knew whether he was exiled to Sicily or not that he could never go back and was neck deep in the mafia the moment he pulled that trigger on Sollozzo and McClusky.
I see the death of Michael in Sicily as purely symbolic. He is Sicilian after all. We see Vito come from the Sicilian countryside, leave, and Michael return there alone and miserable.
As for the quote about Apollonia that Michael said, the “loved” word I don’t see as genuine. Especially because it’s not canon, and personally I’m a canon girl when it comes to media I enjoy and love. Sure he “loved” her but didn’t love her, not like he loved Kay. Could he have if their relationship developed over time, they returned to the USA, and Apollonia actually showed a shred of interest like attraction or love to Michael in return (let’s be honest… nobody talks about Apollonia not returning any feelings back to Michael for some reason.)
The three most important women in Michael’s life is of course Kay, his daughter Mary and Apollonia. Apollonia was definitely important, but Kay was a lot more important and impactful to Michael’s life. Those two were really in love. Otherwise why would Michael go find her again and say:
"You were all that I loved and valued most in the world and now I'm losing you...I've lost you anyway; You're gone and it was all for nothing. You need to understand that I had a whole different destiny planned for us."
“I love you, Kay. Don't dread me, anymore. You know, every night here in Sicily, I dream about my wife and my children. And how I lost them."
The important thing is that analyzing and giving our opinions on characters, themes, anything is great and can be fun when it’s done respectfully. 💗 I’m all about that! I’ve seen Kay and Apollonia Stans fight/argue and… Yeah, I’m definitely not having any part of that. I just think it’s interesting to see someone’s POV, then agree to disagree in a mature, kind way. I’m not gonna fight over fictional characters personally 💀 but I really appreciate your input and opinion!! 👀👀

ATLA
favorite male character: zuko is just one of the greatest characters of all time i love aang i love sokka but zuko is also here having one of the only real redemption arcs of the century. he has two swords and an alter ego. he is an exiled prince. the season one agni kai. so many characters think they're zuko and they're not zuko
favorite female character: i did not like katara growing up bc internalized misogyny i was like booo she just talks about hope blah blah blah but as an adult i was like oh she's so cool... she's trying her best to take care of people and be an adult but she's a teenager who's very angry and has every right to be but also wants to believe good things can happen. she tries to be maternal but deep down she is like actually what if we did something apeshit... she does some absolutely wild bending... love angry healer characters with over-powered magic later in the game. great
least favorite character: i was gonna say mai but then i was thinking about mai and she is still better than most characters from most shows. i think her relationship with zuko was just weirdly written
prettiest character: i feel like i thought katara was so pretty as that lake spirit when i was a kid
funniest character: i think aang... using the omashu mail system as a thrill ride and almost dying TWICE in the same ep. completely lying to those two groups to get them to stop fighting and not feeling bad at all. dressing up as an old man as a disguise. he's 12
favorite season: season one is such a good season of tv. filler that's all about characters and world-building while still moving the story
favorite episode: there's a lot of good ones but i think the season one finale really is so cool... zuko's 'i don't want luck. i don't need it', 'it's over' 'no, it's not', the drama of the avatar state, general zhao choosing not to grab zuko's hand. there's just a lot of intense moments
favorite romantic ship: i was obsessed with aang/katara as a kid but tbh i was also convinced that the earth kingdom girl that zuko went on a date with in that one ep was going to come back in a big way. and she did not. i love people who ship zuko/sokka/suki and i think the comics are leaning towards their favor tbh
favorite family ship: i think zuko and azula are so interesting because they're clearly enemies but at certain times there is that sad feeling of like oh they were really pitted against each other for approval and even though azula won she will always feel insecure about it while zuko was able to give up trying to get it and moved on with his life. they need a tahani and kamilah sibling bonding moment. i'm still sad that korra didn't establish azula as living out in a desert somewhere being a cranky old lady who zuko sometimes visits and who ends up teaching korra traditional fire bending
favorite friend ship: toph and katara is really sweet to me because it is sisterly it is motherly it is nagging it is very loving and protective and rude. i also love aang and sokka for similar reasons bc it is very brotherly and two very opposite people who have being extremely goofy in common. also love that sokka doesn't trust aang at first and then like four episodes later is like this is my weird little brother forever now. katara is like toph is so fucking annoying and spoiled, but that's because she is my little sister forever
worst ship: i was not involved in this and i have no real opinion but i heard the zuko/katara people were always trying to fight people

This is part 5 of the Comprehensive Analysis of c!Tommy and c!Dream’s relationship during the Exile Arc
Part 1 -  Part 2 -  Part 3 -  Part 4
So, this time I’m condensing together 2 streams, so It may be slightly longer then Parts 3 and 4...
Also from here on out as usual we will be talking exclusively about the characters unless stated otherwise and we will be treating some heavy themes, so keep that in mind
So, first stream we’ll be talking about is: TommyInnit Is Actually Depressed in Exile
So, as I mentioned at the end of the last one, once the party stream was over Tommy seemed to dissociate and go underwater until he had only one air bubble remaining and then logged off. This stream starts with Tommy drowning and being extremely confused as to how that happened. Also Tommy moved to the second fase of his exile Minecraft skin.
“I held a party and the only person who showed up was Dream. But it’s okay because he’s great! He’s- he’s cool...”
*Tommy sees a Tubbo statue holding a ‘Your Tommy’ compass* “Tubbo is the reason that I’m out here... ‘Your Tommy compass’? Dream told me that Tubbo lost his compass!” (once again absolutely trusting what Dream says)
“If Tubbo wanted to be here then he could come here and he’s chosen NOT TO! Even if he didn’t get fucking invited to the party, which he did! He’s not shown up once... not to say ‘hi’, not left a gift, not left me anything... he’s just been... Tubbo”
“Everyone keeps coming to me out of pity and no-one comes in just to say ‘hello’, no the only person who’s- *long pause* the only person who’s done that is Dream... he’s the only person” (this is a bit of an insight on Tommy’s mindset regarding others)
So, now the mailing chest has been moved to underneath Tommy’s bed, because Dream kept intercepting Ranboo’s and Tommy’s mails. Also Ranboo writing “Jesus Christ Dream is scary” in this mail is a mood.
“You know, if it was Tubbo that got exiled, which he wouldn’t have in the first place, everyone would be visiting him everyday. Even if I was the president and I was the one who had to exile him I would have visited him everyday, everyone would have... if the roles were reversed... but the roles aren’t reversed”
It’s interesting that by now he has internilized that Tubbo would not have been exiled because he’s much more obedient when Dream never cared about that (he did care, but only to the extent of: Tommy not following his orders is the most probable reason for Dream’s obsession with him). He would have pushed for the exile (also known as Glorified Kidnapping) no matter what sooner or later. If Tubbo was the one to be unfortunate enough to attract Dream’s obsession nothing would have changed from that point of view, except, would Tommy have been as afraid of visiting Tubbo as Tubbo was of visiting him?
Also then Tommy tries to make 2 Screaming Stations. One near the sea and one in the neter (coincidentally directly above the two liquids he almost died from in exile). Neither of them worked, the nether one only resulting effective once a ghast shot him. Also this is the stream where Tommy drops Jack Manifold into lava (though he had no idea that that was a canon kill) and Jack kindaps/kills Tommy’s pumpking girlfriend as revenge? It’s a weird one. Another thing to point out is that Tommy just doesn’t wear armour at any point.
“Why did I just do that? Why did I just kill him?” *joins Jack vc* “Listen, I’m really sorry” (just to specify Tommy did apologize multiple times right after doing it, since a lot of people seem not to remember how things went)
“For some reason I just can’t let it out... why can’t- why can’t I scream?” (said right before a ghast fireballed him and he screamed)
After that Ranboo comes to visit. Tommy also breaks a bit more of the Nether path and then he makes the signs: “You are now entering Logstedshire, population: 1″ and “You are now entering Dream Smp, Happy Place. They’re all happy. It’s not quiet, just happy”.
“Aside from maybe Dream” *seeing Ranboo* “And also I guess a bit Ranboo no-one’s came to visit me and when they have they’ve been live so that they can go ‘Oh he’s in exile guys, come and look at this! Come and look at this!’” (a good canon interpretation of this is that Tommy is feeling like a carnival attraction as he put it a while ago. Also Ranboo is now his strongest connection aside from Dream)
“I would actually go and get pets since pets are the best thing for sad people, but so far all my pets have just been used to be tortured in war so I don’t wanna- I don’t wanna put them through that...” (that’s a really f*cking grim take that just so happens to be true that was shoved in the middle of a random stream...)
“Ranboo I’ve had a bit- you know ‘cause Dream isn’t on?” “Mhm” “I reckon I’m gonna- I’m gonna- one day Ranboo I’m gonna fight back, but for now he’s my only friend. Other then you” “Heh, yeah... wait!” “What if I make a little... heh a room”
This bit is quite an important one: Tommy’s first (and last) real act of rebellion against his situation. He’s still confused about it because he thinks of Dream as a friend, but he knows that his situation cannot last forever and that he will need to fight back at some point. He never gets to build a sort of “resistence in exile” type of thing, but he does manage later on to snap out of Dream’s control.
“I’m not gonna fight back now, because I owe everything to Dream. He comes and sees me and he gives me armour sometimes and he makes me happier and he gives me his trident” “Isn’t he the reason why you’re in this situation?” (now Ranboo is the one who took on the role of the one poking holes in Dream’s retoric)
“I made a bee sanctuary or whatever it’s called” “Oh shit! Can I come and see it?” “Oh yeah when you- you come back. When you’re allowed to come back. Which hopefully will be soon” “Oh... you’re like the others” (I’m not entirely sure how to interpret this exchange, but it is the point where Tommy starts loosing trust in Ranboo)
“Apparently Tubbo got a compass” “Yeah! Oh yeah the compass... it got accidentally, like, it was very terrible timing with a charged creeper” “He let it go?” “He didn’t let it go!” “He let me go?” “No he didn’t- he didn’t purposefully let it go, he wouldn’t do that” (this conversation is very much NOT about the compass...)
“But Ranboo, listen, at some point I’m gonna have to do something about this and I don’t know if that’s gonna be... someone’s gonna die” (pretty sure he’s referring to himself there...)
“So recently my buddy Dream has been doing this thing where he um- it makes sense though! Because I’m not in his land anymore, but he ta- he takes shit from me so I need to make sure that I keep them in that chest down there” (it is indeed quite typical for victims of abuse to justify their abuser’s actions and that’s what we’re seeing)
“Everyone in this world you think cares: probably doesn’t”
“You didn’t come to my fucking party Ranboo and I invited everyone!” “You did?” “I didn’t, I didn’t, Wilbur did! And everyone could have came and you didn’t” “Wait what do you mean? There was no invite!”
So, up until now it was of course only speculation that Dream had tampered with the Party invites, but, of course, this is the first proof we have of that fact. Later on Ranboo reiterates his point during the Bedrock Boys Arc, since this time Tommy was still too hurt by it to actually try and listen to him.
“I know that, whatever happens, I’m not gonna be here forever. Wether it’s in exile or wether it’s just here [alive], I’ve no idea how long I’ve got left” (in case it wasn’t obvious: Tommy in exile was suicidal)
“Ranboo everyone always tells me I was the- the- the hero of this server, the one that came and fucking fought Dream and the only one that ever spoke against him but... maybe I was just- maybe this was just meant to be...” (Tommy also very much resents the idea of being a “hero”)
“Doesn’t Dream, like, take your armour? Is that what you said?” “I don’t know I just- hey man, I just follow the boss” (Ranboo was quite aware of at least part of what happened in exile)
We then have Tommy labeling his chasts: ‘don’t let yourself down’ and ‘keep calm and carry on’ and stored away 13 enderpearls. Also closing speach, because it was really good:
“Is it worth it Ranboo?” “What? What worth it?” “Is this [trying to fight back] even worth it?” “I’d say it is. I mean, it’s gonna be tough, it’s gonna be- I mean, I couldn’t even imagine it, but it’s definitely gonna be worth it in the end when you can come back” “In the end...” “I mean at the end of your exile” “*sigh* It’s never gonna end”
Moving on to the next stream we have: Tommy's Exile Is Coming To A Close, which just so happens to not be about Tommy’s exile ending, despite the title, but just about Tommy getting EVEN MORE depressed...
Once again, this stream only has Tommy and later Ranboo and Niki in it, and it’s not too important, so I’ll try to be quick about it.
The stream starts, once again, with Tommy drowning. This time a bit further away from the coast.
“I don’t think I’ve got very long left. I’m not getting better. I’m not (...) and I- I can just feel it: if this- if it keeps on going how it is right now, if- if this keeps on and I keep being alone and my only friend *pause* is Dream, I don’t have very long- I don’t have very long left” (his mental state just literally plummeted after the failed beach party)
Tommy builds the Thinking Palace and the second Nether bridge to Logsteshire (out of cobblestone and lime green concrete, though he wanted to make it out of clay, how’s that for subtle symbolism?) during this stream. Also, may I point out that Tommy is canonically aware of his eyes becoming less and less blue? Also the response mail that Tommy writes is quite worrying here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Tommy falls into water* “Why did I just do that? I don’t think I- I don’t think I chose to dr- *sigh*” (pretty sure this is another instance of dissociation)
“How can I be with other people and still feel so alone?” (that’s because loneliness has nothing to do with how crowded a certain place is and more to do with feelings of alienation)
Either way the stream ends with Niki and Ranboo helping Tommy out with the bridge a bit and that’s it!
“‘Please speak to Tubbo’? My time with Tubbo is come and gone. He had weeks to come and visit me. He chose- he chose against it. And that’s okay... that’s okay” (we have a second time fram indicating that it’s now been definitely over 2 weeks in their time, considering the last time we got one it had been 13 days)
I reckon the next post will be 3 streams together (since the Mexican Dream and the Drista one are... mostly non-canon and I don’t remember Quackity’s visit being too serious) and then I’ll make one on the final one and that’ll be it, I'm pretty sure...

alright, it's time for hot takes in tandem with @thespoonisvictory (very quick hot takes just for the pleasure of the 3 people who enjoy my presence on their dash, please I'm not looking for a huge debate lol)
1. more people should have streamed at the red festival. all the multiple povs was what made nov 16th, the two festivals, etc. so fun. at least quackity or purpled should have streamed. the red festival is a meh event for several reasons (@/lucemferto has a great video on it), but this would have been an easy way that the event could have been improved.
2. I don't dislike the 3 lives system anymore, especially with the way the cc's have played with and dramatized the concept. however, as much as I love wilbur's writing and I don't agree with the constant "godmodding!!!" takes, I would criticize him rp-wise for the way he introduced the 3 lives system. he kind of just said he liked it on reddit and talked about it on tubbo's stream once and everyone ran with it. thankfully none of the cc's seemed too unhappy about it, but I feel like it could have benefited from some more private discussion.
3. I like the individual s3 plotlines more than the individual s2 plotlines as a whole, even though I have major issues with s3. best s2 plotline was obviously the exile arc. I still don't care for the butcher army stuff. from a conceptual level, sam's fall as a warden, las nevadas, tommy's death and revival, and wilbur's revival is more interesting to me than most of the stuff in s2. now, if only the plots can be wrapped up satisfyingly...
4. ranboo isn't one of the best actors on the dsmp in my eyes. don't get me wrong, he's good, but he lacks the subtlety of tommy, tubbo, and wilbur. also, @/thespoonisvictory has basically already expressed all my opinions on his long monologues lol
5. i love captain puffy and I respect her decision to decanonize the duckling dream thing, but I do remember that she called dream her duckling in character during the green festival. while I understand why she chose to decanonize it later, and with the scattered nature of this medium it's understandable that she wouldn't have her character 100% ironed out from the start, I still think these kinds of situations are... not ideal (it's not limited to captain puffy either). if you have to specify things about your character ooc, then that's... not my favorite. this is why tommy and tubbo are so well written imo — they never have to specify things about their character ooc. wilbur's c!wilbur fanfiction barely counts.
6. puffychu needs to come back (as a relationship or friendship, idc). that could get rid of the perception that niki's character is centered on wilbur. it would add an extra layer of depth to both niki's and puffy's characters which I think is much needed.
7. fanon c!wilbur is made too soft and nice sometimes, in an overreaction to the way he's constantly villainized. as much as I love the man, I think it's important to remember that he absolutely did shitty and traumatizing things during his spiral. this isn't me making the "his mental illness doesn't excuse his actions!" argument which c!wilbur apologists are well familiar with. what I'm talking about is fanon portrayals of c!wilbur's spiral being this soft, isolated thing, which c!tommy didn't see much of. the sort of "the only thing c!wilbur did in pogtopia was smoke and play guitar and cry!" thing. like, c!wilbur wasn't just a mopey wisp of smoke in exile. at times he spoke lucidly, even excitedly about blowing up l'manberg. at times he smiled when saying shitty things to c!tommy. he was absolutely suffering hellishly and I'm not forgetting that; I'm not saying he was having a fun time during his spiral. but his spiral isn't this entirely innocent thing, either. it's not like the only thing he needs redemption for is pressing the button.
8. c!techno is not a great anarchist (I say this as a socialist) and I wish more dream smp cc's recognized that. right now the word "anarchist" kind of paralyzes people I think. if cc!techno wanted to portray anarchy without concretely subscribing to a real-world ideology, he should have let his character explain his ideology more. because as we have it, we've got a meh portrayal of anarchy (and not for the "violence" reason) that keeps throwing a wrench into analysis.
9. in the "lore" vs. "semi-lore" stream discussion, I don't see the edited youtube video format brought up nearly enough. that's a huge part of why s1 is so accessible to people — that wilbur and tommy (also fundy) made videos on it. I understand making videos of the same subject you're streaming probably isn't the easiest and I respect cc's decisions to make the content they want to make, but. the edited pogtopia videos still save my life lmao.
10. this is a more general rp opinion, but in general I don't get too interested by really in-depth rp backstories and fantasy lore (at least in minecraft; not as much in text rp). maybe this is just a me thing, but I prefer an rp to be mostly constructed of the plotlines going on in the here and now. you know, the "don't make your first dnd character have a backstory that's 20 pages long" kind of thing, but translated to the dream smp.
11. I feel like c!ranboo hasn't been significantly challenged. yes he struggles with mental illness and that is absolutely a significant personal challenge, but I mean challenge in like a wider plot way. a challenge which involves other characters besides dream. I was hoping the syndicate would provide that but it hasn't yet. also he's so rich and his ideology keeps proving "right" it feels a little bit like techno.
12. the dream smp is not diverse enough and offloading that issue entirely on the fanbase in a way that fully absolves all the adult white cc's on the smp from blame isn't good. absolutely the mcyt fanbase needs to pay more attention to streamers of color, but it isn't solely their fault that the dream smp is so white. the streamers are at fault at some level, especially because most of them benefit from white privilege. the erasure of poc in the mcyt community is a community issue, and that includes both the cc's and the fanbase.

People who go out of their way to demonize Azula while sweeping Iroh and Zuko's flaws under the rug just make Iroh and Zuko look worse.
Iroh and Zuko have been given perspective; Azula hasn't. All Zuzu has to do is talk to her, show her the errors of both her and his ways, and she'll change her mind. There already have been too many tragedies like Zuko being mutilated and Iroh losing his own son; when does it stop? Zuko is a (justfiedly) angry man, who's got plenty of issues and used to constantly lash out at anyone who did not kiss his ass, but he is reasonable when he gets his head out of his butt. If he can be, then why she can't?
"Not every character deserves redemption" say this to Aang and he'll airbend your ass into the next episode (that's probably not going to receive a good budget by Nickelodeon). He was willing to give Ozai a chance, even while fighting him. When he was trying to burn the Earth Kingdom to the ground and kill him.
Also, if Zuko is such a *ooooh* saint as you portray him to be, then he has no reason to not give her a chance. I'm not saying Azula did not bad things (she did), but she's also only a child (14 years old) and Zuko has also done plenty, plenty of bad things himself (while being older - 16 years old), but has been, although in a very unfortunate manner, been blessed with enlightenment of the bad things that are happening in the world and that they need to change during his exile. Had he not been given that, they would probably be side by side in the end (and they would've won because they're unstoppable together).
Zuko giving her a chance to become a better person, doesn't ruin his redemption arc, but makes it better. The guy who had so much resentment and jealousy for his little sister, who was also entitled to the Fire Nation throne despite not even being the main heir (neither to the original line of succession - Lu Ten, Iroh - nor to his father's eyes - Azula), who had to capture the Avatar and help his father destroy the other nations just to deserve a small bit of respect that he (much like his sister) naturally deserved but never got, becoming the Avatar's best friend and peacemaker, willing to rule alongside his sister to break the cycle of family hatred and power struggle, all while giving her a different point of view and making her a better person not only gives her an opportunity to have a redemption arc and a chance to recover, but also reaffirms his own by proving that it did not only happen, but it still happening as he continues to become a better person
And the best part: Zuko is allowed to be his own character. He realizing his sister being stronger, smarter and more talented than him, doesn't make him weak, stupid or unskilled. And that, naturally, no matter how much you train there'll always be someone better, but that doesn't make your efforts pointless. He doesn't need the Fire Nation throne to be his own person, and me saying this is not saying he can't rule; he can, but he needs to find a reason other than respect (because he shouldn't have to become a tyrant to deserve the natural appreciation a father should have for his own children, and neither pretend to be someone else's dead son).
If he wants to rule the Fire Nation with kindness... than he needs to be kind himself. And not only to Azula, but to his uncle, to Mai, to Ty Lee, to the gaang and to all other characters that, willingly (or unwillingly) he hurt, like Song and her mother, the Kyoshi Island and South Water Tribe inhabitants, his crew, etc.
He has the knife and the cheese. He can cut and share it with other people and stop them from starving or he can throw the knife away and eat all of the cheese, while giving excuses as to why the other people are dying, and watch as they stab him in the back. And in the comics case, he can also throw the cheese away and shove the knife up his ass, apparently.
But this is my opinion and it's just that.
Unrelated: if you want Zuko to have a more unique fighting style in comparison to Azula, why not make him combine his swords with his firebending'? Sure, Sokka uses a sword, but Zuko uses two and the former also uses a boomerang as well. Ah, this is probably just a topic for another ask and this one is already too long anyway...
It could also be a comedy bit with Sokka pointing that out to him and he's like "Huh? Is that legal?" or something, I don't know.
THIS IS THE TYPE OF QUALITY CONTENT I CRAVE!

so this
Tumblr media
is a very interesting phenomenon I have been seeing going around twitter. basically people have been comparing the treatment of c!wilbur vs c!dream by the fandom and I do think it's a topic we could discuss again.
I won't go into too much detail since im not the best at debating lmao so all of this is my opinion on the characters and their treatments, you're all free to agree, disagree or add your own.
I think that whenever some look at or compare c!wilbur or c!dream they forget about the way both of their stories are presented to us as an audience. c!dream has always been somewhat of an enigma. he stopped streaming from his pov the second serious lore kicked in and we only saw him from the perspective of other people. we never got to see anything from his point of view, his thoughts, or his actual emotions as we did with c!wilbur. all we have on him is the way he shows himself to others. that's why I personally find it very hard to believe that he suffered from mental illness the same way c!wilbur did and still does, because we never saw him showing any kind of sign of it. from what i know of the lore, c!dream was always presented in a monotone serious way or actively enjoying his actions. the only time we saw him show something akin to fear or panic was during the prison arc or the final disc confrontation.
now to compare this to c!wilbur. we actively and through several streams saw him and his mental state crumble, and in addition we saw exactly which moments were the ones that took a toll on his mental wellbeing. on top of the head i could name three moments that made c!wilbur the way he turned out. i cannot do the same with c!dream- well before prison arc.
now within this arguement i would like to say that i am not including c!dreams traumatic moments from within the prison. thats a whole 'nother can of worms. the reason i am not including it here is because all of c!dreams actions that made him an 'asshole' were commited before the start of prison arc. before the final disc confrontation, the only loss c!dream ever faced was c!tommy running away from exile. besides that he always won. before prison arc he never displayed any kind of hint that he might have trauma.
what i'm trying to say is that yes, both c!wilbur and c!dream commited villanous actions. but out of the two of them, only c!wilbur displayed signs that he not only regrets his actions but that they took an insane toll on his mental wellbeing. after destroying lmanburg his first instinct was to get rid of his own life because he felt that was the only way to keep his loved ones save, because deep down he knew what he did was wrong. before prison arc (aka the consequences of his own actions) c!dream never displayed such behavior. after destroying lmanburg he didnt feel guilty and stopped, he did it again. after seeing that stone pillar and realising c!tommy almost killed himself, he didnt stop to think that what he was doing was wrong, he went to find him to continue doing it. after being put in prison to reflect on his thoughts, after every single one of his old friends went against him to show him he was doing wrong, first thing he did in prison was plan revenge (and this was before c!quackity) and to continue the way he did before.
c!dream never showed a narrative change in morals or that he regreted his actions, not in any kind of way c!wilbur did.
c!wilbur deserves getting help because deep down he regrets. he regrets everything. c!dream doesn't. he doesn't regret a thing. and i will continue believing this, believing that 'c!dream is just an asshole' until he shows me he isn't.
obviously there will be more sympathy for the guy that regrets the actions than for the one that has been enjoying them until forcefully stopped.

So I am convinced that while yes, the voice of c!Dream in c!Ranboo's head isn't actually c!Dream speaking directly into his mind or anything, I am convinced that it is some after-affect of c!Dream manipulating c!Ranboo in his enderwalk state. Because! Hear me out, the prison dream was at least partially true right? It's like a nightmare based on a real event. And c!Dream in that nightmare was saying things like "We're practically best friends! We talk all the time". So it seems plausible c!Dream does talk to c!Ranboo when he's enderwalking, and I think he uses that time to manipulate him. And it's having it's effects on c!Ranboo oustide of the enderwalk state because while c!Ranboo might not remember it, it's still happening to him. The main reason I'm pretty sure of this outside of the voice in his head being c!Dream, is because lately, when c!Ranboo has to rationalize something, he shifts the blame to c!Tommy. Beacon missing? c!Tommy stole it. He doesn't remember writing his name in a book? Probably c!Tommy doing a prank. And I think there's been a couple other times he's mentioned c!Tommy in a somewhat bad light. Which is interesting, because when you go back to the exile arc, c!Ranboo was one of few characters actually being nice to c!Tommy. And they haven't really talked much since. So unless I missed something, c!Ranboo shouldn't have had a reason to start disliking c!Tommy, right? So I think c!Dream has been manipulating c!Ranboo's opinion of c!Tommy during their "chats", among other things

Hi, you seem nice and I like your theories and rants. Most people just post how angry they are with a member of the SMP, or are defending one and putting down the other, so I'm glad that you list everything out and comment on things like this. I find it interesting that if you look at one member's stream, everything makes sense in their point of view. Anyway, how do you think Dream will meet his downfall?
One of the things that I think is the most interesting but also cause the most problematic fan behavior is the different perspectives provided by the nature of how the SMP plot is shown to us. I might make another post about that because I think it’s fascinating.
Essentially, it allows for almost all of the characters to be morally gray, which is fantastic! But unfortunately I think it leads a lot of the fandom to only look at that one perspective of whoever they watch and not understand the perspective of others :( and be angry. Basically it leads to an interesting lack of information among fans unless you go out of your way to learn the other perspectives.
Either way, I think it’s an interesting twist on conventional media and makes the plot exponentially more fascinating to me.
Now, this question about Dream is really hard to answer right now.
In my head I can only think of a few ways this can go:
1. If Tubbo agrees to exile Tommy, which honestly might be the best answer/most likely right now, I think that leads to a slight cooling of tension between L’Manberg and Dream (for now), and would probably drive the plot more towards Tommy trying to get his discs back and god I am hoping so hard for a Techno Tommy team up in this scenario.
Tommy being exiled kind of gives him what he wanted in the first place when he declined the presidency, which is a chance to fight for his discs without it reflecting on L’Manberg. That’s kind of why I refer to this as a Tommy villain arc, because then he could kind of go off on a quest for his discs by whatever means necessary.
This path also takes away a lot of Dream’s power over Tommy. His influence on Tommy right now is mostly stemming from the fact that he both has Tommy’s discs AND can threaten L’Manberg. If Tommy stops caring about L’Manberg, which is becoming more and more of a possibility, there’s nothing to stop Tommy from doing what he has to in order to get the discs back.
Tommy has said he doesn’t want to destroy L’Manberg or be a villain, but I think this path kind of leads everyone else to consider him a villain despite a lack of him doing anything really too “villainous” so far. I don’t really think this makes him a villain, at least from his perspective, because he just wants his rightful property back (although that depends on how far he would take it)
I’m not too sure where this would lead but it would probably end up in 2 plotlines that are interconnected with Dream vs. Tommy (+Techno?) vs. L’Manberg. I think this would be a fun way to change up the current Tubbo and Tommy vs. Dream dynamic, and a Tommy Techno team seems the most likely way for Dream to end up losing this fight, as he would also have to fight L’Manberg if he wants his land back, and I think Tommy could convince Techno that Dream is a bigger threat to his desire for anarchy right now than L’Manberg. Assuming of course he doesn’t try to fight L’Manberg first out of spite because they kick him out. I don’t think he turns on them that much though.
2. If Tubbo gives Dream the discs. This seems EXTREMELY unlikely in my opinion, and would definitely lead to a huge rift between Tommy and Tubbo. This would probably lead to Tommy leaving voluntarily? THIS could be the scenario where Tommy turns on L’Manberg? I’m not even sure where this storyline would go it seems so unlikely. Something in my brain is telling me that could eventually lead to Tommy making some kind of deal with Dream against L’Manberg? Not sure, it remains to be seen if Tommy cares more about his discs or L’Manberg. It seems like the answer is discs right now, but it’s seemed that way before and he gave them up for L’Manberg. I don’t think this path even leads to Dream’s downfall at all, and the plot would be more focused on Tommy. Like I said, he mentioned he didn’t want to be a villain though, so I think this would be fascinating but unlikely.
3. If Tubbo refuses Dream, then they’re probably just heading for straight up war. Again. I think this is unlikely, but possible. I really doubt Tubbo is looking for another war right now (in character, irl it would be great for content). If it does happen, then that could lead to Dream’s downfall through the war. I’m not sure which side would win if they fought right now. Dream seems scary but he wins a lot of wars via traitors and without that I’m not sure what would go down. Plus that would still leave Techno out there somewhere.
I don’t know if this really answers your question because honestly I’m not really sure. Dream holds a lot of power right now. This is complicated by his power over Tommy specifically with the discs, versus his power just as a strong minecraft player and controller of the Dream SMP faction.
Honestly, I think it depends on their future plans for the SMP if he’s actually defeated by the end of this season or not. Plus we do still have Techno and the Badlands out there, both of which are kind of being ignored. I would love it if they came into play. Additionally, I totally forgot about a possible fundywastaken/dreamnotfound angst storyline, which if it goes a certain way, could cause Fundy to go on his own arc and get involved.
There’s a lot of paths this can take! I’m very hyped for it either way, after last season I trust them to make this good (even with wilbur not writing).
