SUPER LONG LAWLIGHT DYNAMIC ANALYSIS RANT (THIS MOSTLY ONLY APPLIES TO THE ANIME)
It’s really not that serious, but there’s more to my thesis of L being a sub/bottom than just blorbo yaoi fuel. I‘ll call back to my post about L’s true emotional vulnerability that most viewers seem to miss, because on a surface level (especially when coming from the manga and when trusting the words of Obha at face value) you may see L as detached and cold. You’re supposed to think that L is unfeeling at FIRST but post-confinement/pre-yotsuba, the truth starts to seep out. L could have had Light convicted after seeing that no more criminals were dying since locking him up, but he didn’t. Even Aizawa admitted that it was enough evidence. You know it’s real when Aizawa agrees with Matsuda, lmfao.
Anyway, after this point, L and Light actually really start to bond. (I pretty much see lawlight as subtextual canon) L, not really needing to do this because of his access to surveillance, handcuffs himself to Light Yagami. He doesn’t want to be apart from him. I actually find it to be a comedically obvious act of desperation.
My point is, Light is winning the game, and L is letting him do it out of what I believe is love. L has found the one person in his life (besides maybe Naomi) that he really feels any sort of connection to, and therefore he would hate to watch that person die. L is inarguably a vulnerable character imo. If you rewatch the the series, outside of his internal monologues, he’s actually extremely soft-spoken and coy.
“Oh, uh, well it was nice meeting you”
“Light, please make Misa stop talking now.”
You get the point. He’s nervous. He’s super frail and holds himself very compactly, he walks with his eyes on the ground usually. He shakes when Aizawa lays a hand on him. He is terrified of shinigami. I think his coldness is an act to protect himself. I really do, because he knows how much things actually do affect him. In order to continue with cases, he has to pretend like none of it really matters to him. And he almost believes it at this point, too— hence his monster speech.
But then there’s Light Yagami. A worthy individual to truly understand L. He comes along, actually treats L like a human being (be it an act, I believe it still feels good to L, who has been treated like a robot his entire life), of course L is bound to at the very least see him as a friend.
I don’t believe L’s external behavior towards Light is an act. He didn’t have to be kind, he didn’t have to pretend it was a friendship. He had zero professional reason to do so. In fact, it very much made the case a harder one to solve. If we take L’s character at face value, he would have scrapped all of the fluffy shit (like asking Light to go get cake with him, telling Light he was his only friend knowing damn well Light wouldn’t budge regardless, etc.) Adding a friendship into the mix only complicates the process of trying to read Light.
As much as L the detective hates to lose, L the person is desperate. If he really hated to lose, why did he let himself? He’s submitting to Light’s will and THAT is what kills him. On the day he dies, he knows it will happen, but still, he treats Light with kindness. Sure, he asks him if he’s ever told the truth once in his life, but after that, he pretty much gives up prying. That’s it. He’s put his gun down. Since he’s going to die anyway, he might as well just enjoy being around Light. I know for a fact that he is smart enough to have come up with some sort of plan to convict Light post-Higuchi. There’s a book about that. But canonically, he didn’t do it. Notice also how L goes to Watari before he dies for comfort. L is really such a sad character.
The crux of his character is his submissiveness, hence why I’m such a proponent of that ship dynamic. Its not just a wet-dream, it’s something I sensed in their dynamic to begin with. It’s why I became an L simp, not the other way around.
Anyway, the anime is a genius adaptation and expansion on the original story imo. (At least up until L’s death— unfortunately it didn’t do the other Wammy’s boys any justice)
TLDR;
manga L- cold and domineering, hates to lose and mostly loses at first because Light outsmarts him
anime L- the very opposite and I LOVE IT
Look at me putting my 5 on the AP English literature exam to use! Also, I know I’m a huge L fan, but I am a Light kinnie and I love him as a protagonist in every possible anti-hero type way and would love to analyze him so let me know if yall want that.

What are your headcanons for the friendship between Odd and Yumi?
Odd & Yumi - Chaotic besties
Hmm, it has been a while since I rewatched Code Lyoko, so I'm going with these headcanons based on what I can recall from memory. I'll make note to rewatch the show for subsequent posts.

Odd and Yumi and their friendship is certainly noteworthy.
Apart from Ulrich, for whom Yumi carries romantic feelings, she sees the other Lyoko warriors as her younger siblings. This comes naturally to her, considering she is a big sister.
Odd is no different. In fact, deep down, I think Odd reminds Yumi of Hiroki. They're both mischievous and like to annoy her, but are also the kind of people who really know her.
Yumi, when asked about Odd: "Odd Della Robbia has two braincells, smelly feet, and a smelly dog."
Odd, when asked about Yumi: "Yumi Ishiyama wears black to remind herself that her life is nothing but a bleak existence."
They use these lines to taunt each other, but after a while, they stopped, because it got boring and they moved on to better ways to annoy the other person.
If anything is leaked to Kadic news about Yumi, she will hunt Odd down and show him absolutely no mercy.
And Odd has older sisters too, which is why there are various softer, feminine aspects in him. He alone remembered Yumi's birthday and intuited that Ulrich must've forgotten it, because he's Ulrich, and also, X.A.N.A. is a pain in the ass.
Yumi easily fills out the role of a friend/big-sister for Odd, and often reminds him of his allergies (if he should have any, which I think he must), and chastises him when he's stuffing himself to no end.
And yet, she saves her croissants for him to have.
She's annoyed by how his eating habits never reflect in his weight. He's always lean.
I don't remember how it was in the show, but I recall that Odd was not very averse to William in the beginning. So, when he sensed that there might be another competitor for Yumi's heart besides Ulrich, he's not negatively reacting to it. In fact, he teases Yumi about how she managed to attract two very chaotic teenagers.
But to Ulrich, he tells him, "no wonder William likes Yumi. She's cool and brave, and very attractive. You better step up your game, Ulrich.". If Yumi hears of this, he will straight-up deny being her number one advocate.
Odd is also really good at deducing who else has a crush on Yumi. He can list five of his classmates alone, let alone think of Yumi's grade.
When Odd and Yumi are paired together for Lyoko missions, he always watches her back and makes sure no one's attacking her.
He has been devirtualized several times as a result. Yumi will devirtualize the goddamn X.A.N.A. monster to avenge Odd. They do this every time.
When they get moments where they're just hanging out by themselves, I see Odd and Yumi enacting this:
Yumi, either reading a novel or going through her phone or class notes, annoyed and used to Odd: Odd, stop.
Odd, with his fingers mere whispers away from Yumi's face, with an innocent smile on his face: I'm not touching you. I'm practising Tai Chi.
Yumi: Then go do this to Jim! He's the one that does Tai Chi!
Odd relies on Yumi to get dog food and poop bags for Kiwi. She complains about doing this every time, but nonetheless spends a portion of her pocket money for Kiwi.
Odd and Yumi know each others' likes and dislikes. Their style preferences, color preferences, etc.
"What's Yumi's favorite color, Ulrich?" "Black." "Wrong. It's black and green, and dark blue occassionally. Try again, and I'll talk to her about letting you off the hook for forgetting your date." "I still don't get why you know so much about her! I'm her boyfriend..."
That's how he knew the perfect gift that Yumi would like, especially from Ulrich.
He did give Ulrich the wrong package in that one episode and Yumi got Kiwi's bone. I think she immediately knew that Odd had bought her gift and mixed up the packages.
Next time, Ulrich consults Aelita for birthday present ideas for Yumi.
Yumi probably chose the hoodie that Odd wears after the outfit change from the first few seasons.
However, when the two of them were bodyswapped during one of the episodes, he wore a despicable outfit combo in her body just to drive her a little crazy.
Also, remember the chopstick scene? Yumi would not have let Odd travel to her house in her body without teaching him enough japanese to make do at home, and without teaching him how to use chopsticks. Coming to the aftermath of the bodyswap episode, she attributes his failings to him having two braincells.
When things didn't work out with Sam for real, Odd goes to Yumi first, way before he actually tells the others.
"It's okay, Odd. You two were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Things will turn around."
They just love each other, but they're the chaotic big-sis--lil-bro type of friends, so they live to annoy each other most of the time.

My Response to Watcher's Apology
Yesterday, Watcher released an apology video regarding their decision to move all their content to a new streaming service which most people cant afford even at 6 dollars a month. And personally speaking, I was pretty satisfied with it. I couldnt see them scrapping the streaming service idea entirely because its definetly too late in the game to do that, but they comprise on certian, like having episodes come out on Watcher the service, releasing onto Youtube much later, and having Patreon backers use the service for free (which I didnt know was not a thing for Patreon backers initially which is kind of alarming). I'd say overall, they did a good job with their apology. At least in my opinion. Im pretty sure others might look at it differently or maybe Im probably for forgiving people for who do bad things and thus more likely to be at the receiving end of a toxic friendship/relationship in the future......
I will say though, this whole situation has made going to back their old content (from Watcher and Buzzfeed) a lot more awkward. Its one of those things where a creator you like does something bad and watching content made before they did the bad thing wrong, and you cant separate the art from the artist because you liked their content for them mostly. Its kind of like when I rewatched old Achievement Hunter stuff right when the Ryan Haywood drama happened. Granted, what Watcher did was far tamer than that scenario. But its still bad, and portrays the guys in a negative light. Some people I've seen who've covered this, from Sensative Society to Jacksfilms (who released a parody of their apology literally within a couple of hours of the upload which I wont ever find not funny) have portrayed them as greedy for this move, and as someone who could view this from the perspective of an outsider, I can understand that. But like I had mentioned in my original post, I sympathized with why they felt like Youtube wasnt for them, but (like I said) this was the worst solution to that quandary they could've made. Speaking of commentators, I've also been avoiding that type of content just because how negatively effected by this whole drama. The fact this happened right around the time I was on a Buzzfeed Unsolved binge didn't help. This whole thing has made me so upset that I've just been avoiding sort of content revolving Watcher or Buzzfeed Unsolved period. I dont really know what else to say here, this whole thing sucks and I wish it never happened.
However, I think this is a feeling that will change, as time goes by and people move on from this drama. I think that Watcher will be able to bounce after this whole thing dies down, especially because this is not as bad as Ryan Bergara diddling a kid or Shane Madej........idk awakening into his demon form or something. But, I think this will be something that will haunt them going forward pretty much since the bad things you do online will stay online......forever

“Last time, on Total Takes Action: our final three competed in an all-out, extra dramatic laser tag challenge with a few… twists. Alliances were formed, friendships were broken, and it was Peter who took the fall to give Scruffy a chance at the finale. With just one exciting challenge left, I’m sure you’re all wondering who will win- and there’s only one way to find out: right here, right now, on Total! Takes! Action!”
The sky is clear and blue, the pigeons are cooing, and the smell of breakfast sausage is filling the air as Scruffy and O wait in a very short line for their complementary “final two breakfast” in the craft services tent.
Chef heaps a few sausages, eggs, and waffles on each plate and shoos the players off, both of which immediately gravitate towards the opposite ends of the picnic table and eat in silence. Scruffy paces around their end of the table, swiping forks, knives, and spoons, just in case. O draws a little smiley face on his plate with syrup.

O: “Well… this is it,”
---
SCRUFFY: “Today’s the big day,”
---
O: “I can’t believe how far I made it,”
---
SCRUFFY: “I can’t believe how far O made it,”
---
O: “I’m not exactly winning material… but then again, neither is Scruffy,”

SCRUFFY: “He’s a big softie. Not nearly as well-trained, unless you count psychology- but then again, I’m an expert at that, too. He’s just gone to- ugh- “therapy”. Who has therapy helped?”

O: “I’m thinking that once I get back, winnings or not, I might cancel my sessions with Dr. Anderson. I feel like… I don’t know. Pathologizing my problems has made them worse, somehow. Maybe it’s time to try a different approach. The… Scruffy approach, I guess,”

SCRUFFY: “Still, I can’t help but wonder if all of this dedication- all the hours I’ve spent rewatching the original show, all my community college classes, all my reading and training- has really helped me get here. I’ve been missing an obvious pattern. If only I could figure out what that is…”

O looks up from his syrup smile and waves at Scruffy. “Hey, bro. Good luck today,”
Scruffy blinks. “Um… okay,”
“Attention, campers! Your final challenge starts in five minutes out by the trailers. Time to bring your A-Game!”
---
Scruffy and O stand an arm’s length apart as Chris paces between them, humming to himself. “You’ve lived. You’ve loved. You’ve laughed. And most importantly, you’ve lost. Today is the final test of strength, wits, smarts and endurance- both of you will enter, but only one will emerge a hero. And with a big fat check,” Chris chuckles.
“Today’s final challenge is a multi-part rendezvous across the set. You will start here and make your way through the city,”
Scruffy immediately jumps into a running stance, ready to take off.
Chris grins. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you. The first leg of your race to the finish line was inspired by your very first challenge here- the birdocalypse. Thousands of territorial birds are having their afternoon nap on the city set. Wake them up, and you might have a problem,” he goes on. “After that, you’ll make your way through a ghost-filled maze, inspired by the video game and period flick challenges. Once you’re out, you’ll run the final stretch to Lot B- a functional studio next door. The first to arrive wins the prize. Ready?”
Scruffy and O exchange nervous glances.
“Go!”
The two don't run, but awkwardly walk off in the same direction, as if taking a pleasant afternoon stroll.
O’s eyes drift over to Scruffy and he winces.
---
O: “Is it weird to ask them for advice? I feel like it’s weird, but…”
---
“Hey, dude,” O says, looking over. “I know we’re competing and all, but-”
“Shh!” Scruffy interrupts him, holding a finger to their lips. They point ahead, where a black mass is covering the city set- it’s almost like an oil spill, but instead of the viscous glimmering liquid, it’s hundreds of sleeping crows.
Scruffy goes first while O hangs back, looking ahead nervously. The former moves through the set, stepping over birds on the road and ducking under birds on the street signs and lamps. They delicately step, roll, and skip through the set with expert agility while O watches on.
---
SCRUFFY: “This isn't so hard! Just a little yoga moves and some spatial awareness. Maybe I haven’t lost my zing after all!”
---
Scruffy reaches the other side and turns to wave at O- in a clearly taunting way. O crosses his arms and glares.
---
O: “Yeah- no chance of friends there,”
---
Scruffy reaches the mouth of the maze and chuckles. “Easy. Is this all you got, Chris?”
Chris rolls his eyes and pulls out a large remote. His thumb hovers over the big red button on the surface for a few moments, taunting Scruffy, before he slams it and the maze lifts off the ground and begins rotating on a large metal plate.
Scruffy watches the ground disappear beneath them and sighs.
---
SCRUFFY: “WHY would I say that? That’s the easiest mistake to avoid on this show!”
---
Back on the city set, O tip-toes over the birds, nearly stumbling over each one. He’s breathing heavily, and almost falls over at least ten times.
But, he reaches the end and sighs before jogging off. O reaches the entrance of the rotating maze and gawks at it.
“Yeahhhh,” Chris grins. “Don’t worry, though, we’re prepared for this.”
Chef wheels out a canon.
---
Scruffy wanders through the maze, dizzy and unbalanced as it spins around itself. They’re about as green as their hair, but still pressing on nonetheless.
---
SCRUFFY: “I’ve been trying to improve my gag reflex since island. I’m usually pretty good, but I have… a thing about other people getting sick in front of me. As long as that doesn’t happen, I’m set,”
---
O’s screams echo, growing closer and closer before he slams into the concrete of the maze behind Scruffy, leaving a hole in the ceiling. He coughs.
“Don’t throw up!” Scruffy shouts.
O stands, rubbing his head. “Wasn’t gonna. Don’t worry, man, I’ll leave you be,”
Scruffy nods and the two run in opposite directions.

O: “I get it! Scruffy has nothing to get from me, so why would I bother them?”
---
Scruffy steps through the maze, scratching their head as it spins. “This isn’t good. I’m all turned around,”
Chris’ voice blares over the intercom: “That’s the point, Total Drama Genius!”
They sigh and hold onto the wall while stumbling along. The maze suddenly lurches and begins turning in the opposite direction, sending Scruffy tumbling to the ground. They groan and sit up against the wall. “It’s hopeless. I keep lying to myself and telling myself I can do this, but I can’t! I don’t know what I’m doing,” they turn to the camera. “I’m sorry, Jules.”

O walks along, faring much better than Scruffy. A light breeze tussles his hair and he turns to where it’s coming from- and just around that corner, a beam of sunlight filters through. He grins and jogs forward.
As he rounds the corner and sees the exit, though, he hears a loud cry. The sound of Scruffy’s wailing carries through the maze, and it stops O in his tracks.
He hesitates.

O: “I know I shouldn’t go back. I mean, what if it’s a trap? What if Scruffy is just trying to get my help and then dump me after? But…” he sighs. “I’m not like them. I’m a nice person, and there’s nothing weak about that.”
---
O turns and jogs off into the dark.
---
Scruffy, curled into a ball on the floor, cries in anguish.
“Hey? Dude?”
They whimper loudly. O sits down next to them and sighs.
“Listen, I’m not gonna try to fix your problems, ‘cause I know that’s not what you like,” O says. “But you should know that… well, you don’t have to win this. You’re not a weak person for not being mean and conniving like the people who get far on this show…”
“But I want to be!” they whimper, eyes full of tears. “I want to be Heather!”
“But you’re not… Heather,” O looks around awkwardly. “You shouldn’t want to be, either?”
“I’ve been studying this show since primary, I’ve taken all the classes, done all the research, trained to perfection- why am I so bad at this?”
O pats Scruffy’s shoulder. “You’re not. You’re good.”
“But not like you. You didn’t even try and you made it to the same exact spot I got to! I don’t get it. Were you a pawn? A twist villain I didn’t see coming?” Scruffy rocks back and forth.
O raises an eyebrow. “Um… no… I don’t know, man, I’m just nice,”
“You can’t win just by being nice, I mean, that’s… that’s improbable! The nicest contestants always get got!” Scruffy says. “I’m nice! I’m not mean!”
“Yeah, man, but you’re kinda… uh, you know… you’re not the easiest to be around,”
Scruffy’s eyes water again. “Wh-what do you mean?”
O sucks in his breath through his teeth. “You’re… kind of intense, dude. All you talk about is the show, and, I mean… you’ve got some serious walls up, man,”
“I-I do not! Ask Jules, she’ll tell you! Julia knows!”
“Saying that one of the meanest contestants on the show knows you more than anyone is… not great, Scruffy. Haven’t you made any other friends?”
“Haven’t you?”
O frowns. “I guess not. But… I mean… I dunno,”
“When you say you’re nice, all I hear is that you’re a pushover. You let people use you!” Scruffy says, crossing their arms. “I’m not like that! I don’t like being pushed around!”
“Says the guy who went nuts cause they thought a girl would like them more if they won some dumb game show,”
“Says the guy who hasn’t had a single steady friendship since the show started!”
“Says the guy who needs to impress everyone with how great they are!”
“Says the guy who does the same thing, Dr. O!”
Both huff and turn away from each other. The intercom crackles to life and Chris’ voice sounds slightly peeved. “Hey, guys, this heart-to-heart has been great, but you are IN A CHALLENGE! Now get to it!”
The maze suddenly starts spinning faster, throwing Scruffy and O to opposite sides of the hall they were seated in. Each grab on to a corner of the black walling and hold on for dear life as they’re thrown around like they’re getting flushed down a toilet.
“I- can’t- hold- on!” O shouts.
“Take my hand!” Scruffy throws out an arm as O flies off the wall, catching him just in the nick of time. “Maybe I can be… nice after all!”
O smiles gratefully and nods. “Let’s get out of here!”
The two fashion makeshift ice picks out of the forks Scruffy had swiped from the craft services tent and rake their way up the wall as the maze spins even faster.
“This way!” O instructs, retracing his earlier steps to the exit of the maze. The two reach the door and look to the ground below, where only a tiny kiddie pool was left to break their fall.
“Ready?” O shouts.
Scruffy nods. “On the count of three!”
“One!”
“Two!”
“Three!”
The two hold hands as they jump, both screaming and flailing their free arms until they land in the shallow pool below.
“We… we made it!” Scruffy shouts with glee as O coughs up a mouthful of water behind them. “We did it together!”
O stands. “We did, didn’t we? Together,” O puts an arm over Scruffy’s shoulder. “No strings attached.”
“No expectations,”
“No value!”
Scruffy nods. “Let’s wing this,”
The two start off on the final track, throwing the doors of a large set building open and running through it, approaching a final set of double doors.
“Hey,” Scruffy jogs up to O. “May the best man win, right?”
O salutes them. “May the best man win!”

“And that’s the story of how I lost my first tooth,” Staci says. “And no one ever found the hammer.”
Caesar massages his temples. “Another fascinating story from Staci. Anyone else have something to add?”
Luckily, before someone else can add on, Bonnie runs on stage. Caesar sighs with relief. “Bonnie, here to save the day again! What’s the news?”
“They’re coming!”
Caesar squeals, and the peanut gallery turns to the double doors backstage in anticipation. “Can we get a countdown?”
“Five!” Ass and Courtney both lean forward, then notice each other and glare.
“Four!” Sha-Mod and McLovin are busy giving each other crudely drawn stick ‘n poke tattoos of each other’s faces.
“Three!” Julia shoves Patrick out of her face when he gets to close.
“Two!” Mal blows a gum bubble and texts something on her phone.
“One!” Bonnie takes a seat and Caesar puts a hand on their shoulder.
The doors burst open, and O runs in.
“The winner of Total Takes Action, everyone!” Caesar shouts. “O!”
A shower of confetti and balloons fall from the ceiling and the crowd cheers. A group of former contestants- Kelly, Al, Michela, and Peter- run from the stands and hoist O into the air, carrying him in. He laughs merrily.
They set him down in the hot seat and Caesar grins. "So, O, you've just won a season of Total Takes- what are you going to do next?"
"I think... first, I'm gonna split some of the winnings with my friends. Then I'm gonna take a long, long vacation,"
"You don't have to do that," Peter states. "We're just happy you made it back in one piece."
McLovin pipes up in the background. "Did somebody say One-"
"Anyway," Michela interrupts. "We were kind of planning on taking you out for a celebratory-or-consolation dinner, anyway. On us."
O smiles.
“What a season, what a cast!” Caesar says. “And here’s our runner up, Scruffy!”
Scruffy jogs in behind him, breathing heavily. Julia stands and runs to the doors, hugging Scruffy. “I missed you!”. The peanut gallery continues whooping and cheering, and O gives Scruffy a big thumbs up as Patrick storms over and tries to pull the two apart.
Scruffy waves as the crowd cheers for them, then collapses as soon as Julia lets them go.
Caesar turns to Bonnie. “Thoughts, feelings?”
“Not many. I’m a little hungry,”
“Oh, God, me too. Those finger sandwiches are three parts air, I swear,” Caesar says. “Dinner tonight?"
"You're on. Maybe we can tag with O's crew and eat free,"
"I like the way you think," Caesar winks.
“Well, this has been Total Takes Action- The Aftermath. We’ll see you all soon for- what’s this?” Caesar presses an earpiece, and then bursts out laughing. “Oh, my God- no- really, you’re joking? You’re not?” he turns to the audience. “Chris McLean has been arrested and is currently in custody for illicit activities!”
The crowd cheers even louder, the big screen rolls down and displays a live newscast. Chris is being led from the Action set in handcuffs, Chef and the interns watching from behind a police barricade.
"You CANNOT do this to me! Do you know who I am?!" Chris shouts. "Chef- call my lawyer- call the producers- call my mom!"
"You should've remembered our anniversary,"
"CHEF!"
The police drag Chris into the back of their squad car while he screams. The wind picks up and his hair detaches itself, flying away in the breeze.
"MY TOUPEE!"
Chef rolls his eyes. A white van pulls up just as the cops slam the door of their cruiser on Chris, and a team of hazmat-suited scientists hop out of the back. The broadcast ends and turns back to the studio, where a blonde woman with a tight face reads off the happenings to new viewers. The monitor turns off.
Scruffy sits up from the floor and raises an eyebrow. “What happened?”
“No official reasons yet,” Caesar says. “In due time, I suppose. In the meantime, we’ll-”
An intern runs over to the host and hands him a letter. He huffs and opens it. “It’s from Scary. It just says “told you so”,”
Bonnie rolls their eyes.
“Well… if this is the end of the show, I just wanna say I'm glad we met. I'd be nowhere without you guys,” O says.
The former contestants turn to each other with warm smiles.
“And yet… this can’t be the end,” Scruffy interjects. “We haven’t had a musical season yet!”
“Woah, woah, let’s save that for the Gemmy’s,” Caesar chuckles. “We’re about out of air time, but… I want to say that it’s been a hell of a season, everyone! See you all soon!”

Favorite QL:
My Tee. It's hard to quantify what exactly equals favorite, so I'm going with the Thai ql series I've rewatched the most. My Tee is my comfort series. It has its issues, but it's not boring or as confusing as the people on mdl would have you believe. I enjoyed the low key, humorous, slice of life, coming of age story. The ending admittedly leaves much to be desired, but the Mork/Tee parts of Our Skyy make up for it.
Favorite Pairing:
As in acting pair or CP from a series?
For established acting pair it's a toss up between EarthMix and KhaotungFirst. Both acting pairs seem to genuinely be good friends which is probably why they have great chemistry. I might have to give the edge to KT and First because I think they're both better actors individually.
For a couple from a series it's gotta be Fighter/Tutor. Why R U was one of my early forays into "spicy" Thai bl so Fighter and Tutor have a special place in my heart. Many spicy Thai bls later, I still think their UST/physical chemistry is one of the best. Honorable mention goes to my favorite fluff couple RamKing who was just barely edged out by Tutor's obsession with Fighter's adam's apple.
Most underrated actor:
I don't follow Thai ql closely enough to know who is underrated or overrated. I'm just going to say Drake Laedeke because I wish GMMTV would stop doing him dirty and give him some lead roles. He was decent in My Tee and has been great in his supporting roles, so I think it's about time he got another shot at ml.
Favorite Character:
This one is really hard. I'm going to cheat and say it's a tie between Noey from I Will Knock You and King from My Engineer. Does King count as a main character? I adore Noey for his quirkiness, loyalty, and (over) confidence. The way he bossed Thi into falling in love with him. 😅 I love King's curiosity, persistence and patience with Ram. I also find his spacey, plant loving, dog fearing self very cute.
Favorite Side Character:
My poor long suffering Gap from Triage. 💙 I loved his friendship with Tin and with the rest of the hospital staff and while I am still salty about being robbed of seeing SingGap become bfs, I still love my sweet, exasperated Gap.
Favorite Scene in a BL:
This scene healed my soul. I Told Sunset About You was such a heavy series that I needed this scene so much. It felt like all was right with the world and I believed in true love again.
Favorite Line in a BL:
My mind is totally blank and I cannot think of any profound lines. Instead, the only thing that comes to mind is Praram's "Brother that isn't a brother. Just like how daddy doesn't really mean father" from This Is Love Story. 😅
Most Anticipated BL (and why):
I waited too long to do this, all of my anticipated bls came out already (Laws of Attraction & I Feel You Linger In the Air). I guess now I'll pick Sunset Vibes because I am ready to watch MosBank play assholes that deserve only each other again. I am anticipating a most wonderful trash watch. 🧡
Healthiest Relationship in BL:
Saen and Aii from You're My Sky. Saen took it slow with Aii and respected his boundaries. They talked about their problems and tried to meet each other halfway. And they were just all kinds of adorable.
Most Toxic Relationship in BL:
Pok and Tong from Gen Y/Gen Y 2. Threats? ✅ SA? ✅ Manipulation? ✅ I remember thinking damn these bitches are so toxic when I was watching Gen Y, but I was also a bit mesmerized by their toxicity. 😅
Guilty Pleasure Series:
Guilty pleasure implies that the series needs to be bad, but what's bad? One's trash is another's treasure. A lot of people rag on My Tee, but I like it, so does that make it a guilty pleasure? It doesn't feel like it. I guess I will go with Big Dragon. I can understand why people think it's awful, but I loved it.
Most Underrated Series:
I really want to pick You're My Sky because it was a pretty well done uni/sports bl that got very little attention, but I'm picking He's Coming To Me because it's a very good series that doesn't get enough love. The ghost story part of it was both touching and funny and the investigation/non-bl plot was interesting. Ohm's acting was great too.
If this wasn't restricted to Thai QL, this would have been a lot harder and a lot of my answers would be different I think.

16. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever used as a bookmark?
Umm... It has been A While since I've regularly read physical books (mostly read on Libby/other phone apps these days), but I've done the usual random scraps of paper in the past.
When I was a kid obsessed with Narnia in elementary school, I made special friendship bracelet bookmarks for my set that matched the colors of the covers. Some might still exist at my mom's.
I also remember buying bookmarks that looked like castle tapestries.
19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?
When I was a kid, I loved stories and reading and daydreaming and playing pretend (mostly on my own, as others aged out of it). I enjoyed my elementary school creative writing assignments, and started writing poems and stories in my free time too. That continued through high school, and around high school I also got into fanfic (mostly as a reader, but I wrote fan poems, short snippets, and a ficlet/one shot or two that I never shared with anyone else).
In early college, I finally posted a tiny bit of fanfic (on website that thankfully no longer exists), but I had an unfinished WIP that hung over my head for years and years. (It wasn't even that long a story! It just became an impossible task.)
And then there was over a decade of basically nothing. I wrote for college/grad school and for work, but papers, memos, PowerPoints, emails, etc. are not exactly creative writing.
The Owl House rewired my brain, as they say. It started out as a show I started watching mid 2022 while folding laundry, but in October 2022 I started bingeing in earnest. I was still finishing Season 2B when Thanks to Them dropped, but once I caught up... oooph. Immediate rewatch. I read some fanfic, but for the first time in over a decade, I was itching to write. I started with one drabble — 100 words seemed like a realistic goal — which turned into a drabble sequence. Then I posted a one shot a few days later, then another one shot, and... After having an AO3 account with zero posted words of my own from August 2013 to mid October 2022, I now have over 50k up and more in drafts.
These days, I consider myself a fanfic writer in it for the long haul. I know that life responsibilities/health/etc may interfere with writing from time to time, but I've found my way back before and I am confident that I can do it again. I am a little anxious about having multiple multi-chapter WIPs up on AO3 — there was a reason I initially intended to stick to one shots/one shots in series — but fanfic writeblr helps immensely. When in doubt, I write drabbles.
I am in zero rush to focus on writing original fiction, but I have decades of life yet. Who knows — maybe I'll write a short story collection or a novel someday for fun, but I'm not nearly as passionate or dedicated (or talented!) as my friends/acquaintances who are writing/making art professionally. That's where I am with music too — I love being part of a community choir and I hope music will always be a part of my life, but it's a hobby. And as much as I desperately wish we supported full-time artists better, I also wish more people could just "dabble" in creative/artistic endeavors (time and money being big gatekeepers for hobbies too).

My Top 10 Non-BL Asian Dramas
Believe it or not, I do watch my fair number of Asian dramas that are not BL. I just tend to binge them instead of watching week to week so I typically don’t post about them. So here is a list of my top 10 favorites that no one asked for.
(Since this is a list of non-BL shows, I did not include bromances like Devil Judge, Guardian, or Ghost Doctor on this list or it would be a very different list)
10. The King’s Avatar - Netflix - I did not know that I could like a show about esports until I watched this show. There are some things that I wasn’t particularly a fan of, but I mostly loved it. There was no romance to be seen. Just a bunch of people battling it out in video games and the drama actually had me on the edge of my seat.
9. Tale of the Nine-Tailed - Viki - I did not care for the romance in the story one bit which is unfortunate since it’s a large part of the show, BUT despite the romance not being to my taste, I still loved the characters. And of course I loved Lee Rang. I don’t care if he was evil and almost helped bring about the end of the world, he deserved better and I’m still mad at the ending he got.
8. Love O2O - Netflix - This show is probably the most out of place on this list but it is probably my favorite het romance. Bonus censored BL in there which I wish they could have gone more in depth with, but they did what they could. I love Xiao Nai and Weiwei’s relationship. They constantly communicate with each other and she was never once made out to be dumb because he was supposed to be the smart, perfect one. One of my favorite scenes is actually his friends hacking the school’s system to show the dumb gossip mill her report card because she is just as smart. The friendships are great too. The only thing I don’t like is that Erxi deserved way better than Cao Guang. He sucked the entire show and didn’t get any better. Erxi was only ever adorable and I will fight every single person that called her ugly.
7. While You Were Sleeping - Viki - This whole show was just an experience. And it was such an interesting concept. I love that the love triangle never even mattered but I hope Han Woo Tak finds someone one day because damn if he wasn’t the best character. Also this show made me very glad that I don’t have prophetic dreams. The romance definitely plays a huge part in this, so if you don’t like het romances than it’s not for you. But both characters are so cute and chaotic and a tiny bit unhinged and I would definitely recommend it. Plus the little found family they develop is wonderful.
6. The Gifted - Youtube - This is another show with such an interesting concept. I love the whole show a lot. It feels hard to talk about without spoiling everything, but I do need it stated that Wave is my favorite character. He was my favorite from the beginning all the way until the end. He’s the best, the smartest, and if you know me, you know I love the asshole characters. But a very specific brand of asshole and he fits it.
5. My Name - Netflix - This show is...fucked up. But I loved it. Especially the end. Sometimes, I just want to see a woman go on a one-woman rampage and murder everyone and everything. Anyway, pissing her off, then training her to fight, then extra special pissing her off might not have been the best move. This show is graphic and extremely dark. Do not watch this show unless you are 100% sure you can handle it and handle the violence.
4. The Uncanny Counter - I love a good fantasy element in my shows. I love that his hair went crazy for some reason. I love a disabled character, even though that went away when he got his powers. (minor spoiler) I love that when he loses his powers, and he’s disabled again, I love that he doesn’t forget how to fight. I love the found family and how they protect each other. I love eccentric billionaire man who is also a superhero. I just loved everything about this show tbh. Might be time for a rewatch.
3. Tomorrow - Netflix - This show just finished recently and I loved it. It also deals with heavier topics and it’s definitely not for everyone. This show is about a grim reaper trying to stop people from committing suicide so keep that in mind before going in. She is blunt and brutal but she says the things that people need to hear. And there are times when this show is very, horrifically sad. It almost made me cry (which if you know me, is impressive). Bonus for this show is that the main character, Joon Woong was also in Click You Heart which is weirdly how I became friends with one of my best friends in the world. Also, I don’t know how alone I am in this but I 100% ship Joon Woong with Ryung Goo. Those two love each other in their weird little way and no one will convince me otherwise.
2. Law School - Netflix - This show reminded me a lot of Devil Judge actually. Minus the bromance. But it’s got corrupt politicians, and one man who is facing it all. The music in this show is phenomenal and the characters are fantastic. There’s definitely a mystery over who murdered the teacher and the fact that their teacher is using himself and the fact that he is the number one suspect in order to teach his students is fantastic. I love how hardworking Kang Sol A is. They told us from the beginning that she had less natural intelligence than her peers. But she worked so hard and she cared so much and I love that the smartest student went out of his way to help her. And he was so proud every time she figured something out. Anyway if you liked Devil Judge, you would probably like this show as well.
1. Vincenzo - Netflix - This show is definitely not made for everyone but it was made more me. It was the exact right balance of absurd, chaotic humor and dark, gritty violence. The villains of the show think they’re so much smarter than they actually are and sometimes I just want to watch a show where the protagonist is constantly winning. Plus I may or may not be a little in love with Cha Young. If you ever want to talk about this show, I am literally always willing to talk about it nonstop. I can talk your ears off.
Let me tell you, choosing just 10 shows was so hard. I love so many. And across so many different genres. Most of the shows on this list ended up being Korean dramas, cause honestly, those tend to have the most violence and I love a good violent show.

Hii. What is your opinion on the pokemon XY anime gang?

Oh man, I have a lot of thoughts regarding XY! Let's see...
Ash: I like the way he was portrayed this season honestly. He was very likeable and went through a lot of key character moments especially thanks to his Greninja. I had multiple moments where I just told my friend "man he's such a cool guy". Very good portrayal of his character :))
Serena: I'm a bit mixed with Serena. I like her but also feel like she didn't have as much character as any of the female protags before her. I liked her character arc but it felt a bit rushed weirdly enough? There was also a lot of fanservice around her which felt a bit weird (and the romance with Ash was... Well, no shade to Amourshippers at all but I did not see the chemistry. It felt like they didn't want to commit with it. If anything she had more chemistry with Aria imo) and in the finale everyone had a role except her (Bonnie was calming Zygarde, Clemont was taking care of the Lumiose tower, Ash was battling Lysandre but... Serena was just... There.) All in all I like her but she feels a bit like wasted potential? Of course that is merely my opinion on the matter. I think she improved dramatically in her small appearances in Journeys <3
Clemont: I love this little guy! He has such a nice bromance with Ash! His catchphrase and the ensuing running gag somehow always gets me. I just like that they committed with the character. He's very distinguishable from Cilan and Brock which is a plus in my book and gosh, his role in the finale broke me. I cried twice and the Citroid "death" was one of them. Clemont makes me happy :))
Bonnie: I honestly really like Bonnie! She was well written in my book and she had a lot of moments where my cynical ass had to sit down and say "... Yeah, that's cute actually". She fills me with uncontrollable cute aggression (that feeling when something is so adorable you just have to squish like bug) especially with the way she was with Zygarde. Remember how I said I cried twice during the finale?... Her singing to a rampaging Zygarde was the second time.
Some minor characters below!
Professor Sycamore: I love that he appeared often although his plot relevance is more in relation to Alain than it is to Lysandre in this. I'm a bit sad that he doesn't actually know Lysandre before the events of the Mega Evolution Special because MAN it would have been fascinating to see him torn up between the man he loves as a dear lover friend and his son assistant! Loved his dynamic with Alain <3
Tierno: HE GOT SUCH A GLOW UP??? Like I didn't care much for Tierno in the game but NOW HE'S IN MY TOP TEN FAVE POKEMON CHARACTERS???
Shauna: Wish she had appeared more because I really liked her <3
Trevor: Such a tiny guy! I think a tiny bit of his bite was lost in the anime adaptation but I still really love his friendship with Tierno. Boy best friends!
Sawyer: I love how it introduces the concept that EXP might exist or is a pseudo science in this world?? He's a tiny guy who packs a punch and that's great for him :)) very likeable.
Miette: I want to like her and I do but this whole "love rival" was introduced and then severely underutilized 😔
Alain: Is it a secret that I love Alain? I was making fun of him a lot during my first watch, calling him a bit of an edgelord but, hey, that's how I show my love. After multiple months of intense roleplaying with my friend I ended up... Really REALLY loving him??? And now whenever I rewatch his breakdown I feel terrible inside 😢
Mairin: You know how Bonnie fills me with cute aggression? Mairin is even better at triggering it. I love her with every fibre of my being <3 Her dynamic with Alain is everything to me. (He just wants to see her smile again 🥺🥺🥺🥺)
Lysandre: Might as well talk about him! I did like his portrayal (even if the line of "protecting the professor at all cost" at the start sounds super parasocial considering they never formally met?????) and he has some crazy good moments for only being introduced in XYZ and the Mega Evolution Special. He's grand ! I still can't believe the scene where he flungs himself off of the tower exists but it made me gasp very loudly!
SORRY FOR THIS LONG POST I didn't know if you met just the main four or more soooo here are my thoughts on most of the main cast?? Anyways haha hope you enjoyed that? Overall I really liked the entire XY series especially XYZ. It started a bit slow for me but had a lot of cool moments I'll remember for a while.

They're talking abt Tkr has the quality to be a person behind the scenes (prod/dir), but he said that it's bcos they know how to work (as actors/musicians), they should try to produce things. And yes Yuu is actually doing that, by creating a musical that he wants to create
Also Tkr said that the best condition is a person who can act AND direct, bcos he knows the feelings of the actors, so it won't be just one way from the director.
According to Taka, Tkr has almost never missed OOR's concerts 😳 And at one time, he came to their meeting, just sat there like a director, with a pen and setlist in front of him. Tkr said that someday he wants to produce OOR's con and YES i really want to see that happen 🔥🔥

📺 = Favorite Childhood TV Show(s)?
Had to come back to this one because hoooooooooooooooo boy do I have so many that I can't even remember. I practically grew up with tv and spent a good chunk watching it, so uh mannnn. Here's some in no particular order:
-Let's just start right off with Wild Kratts. PBS show about two dudes helping animals live free and in the wild. So popular it always won the vote every Friday to air a double-special. It's also where I got my username, based off my fave ep "Tazzy Chris". ive no idea where kiki comes from.
-Jane and the Dragon <3
-Dreamworks Dragons series, especially Race to the Edge. I practically breathe HTTYD. Sucks they won't let it fuckin rest peacefully!!!!
-Obviously, Transformers Prime. I had a Bumblebee backpack and everything! And that whole almost getting hit by a train ordeal.
-Saddle Club, i watched a bunch of rerun episodes on Pluto TV! I still adore the theme song!
-Winx Club! Sucks they won't let it fuckin rest peacefully!!!!
-Monster High!! They had some lows but hey the new show seems to be wayyyyyy better than the live action movie, tho idk if any new incarnation can live up to the vibes of the first one for me.
-Code Lyoko! I still need to rewatch it(again), and honestly I'm not even sure I finished it. The latest I remember is the William Arc.
-TMNT 2k12! The show has some serious character writing issues and keeps tricking itself into thinking half-assed romance arcs are the peak of story telling but I still very much love it and it has a special place in my heart.
-Ninjago!!!! It recently just ended and I might cry aaaaaaaaaaaaa

I was rewatching 1x08 and realised that during the Vaemond and Rhaenys exchange when she says "my cousin, the king" (my family and ally, Luke's grandfather) Vaemond responds with "it's not a king who sits the throne (dramatic pause) it's a queen". He could've gone with "it's a Hightower" which would drive the point he was trying to make (that the crown would take his side in the matter of the succession) or even "it's the queen", who is a Hightower and has personal history with Rhaenyra and Luke. Idk if I'm getting too hung up on semantics but it sounds like a dig at Rhaenys, like he saw the chance to insert that in the conversation and throw her off her game or something. It felt like the conversation suddenly shifted and wasn't about the greens being the ones in control and became about a queen being in power, which is weird cause the gender of the monarch doesn't really affect Luke's claim to Driftmark (the monarch being someone who doesn't want him to inherit does) so I can only assume he was trying to affect Rhaenys with his words. What do you think?
One of the things that struck me is the soft power that both Vaemond and Rhaenys use when it comes to familial names. The way they interchange from first names, to relationship, to using pure rank. It’s clear from the offing that this conversation is tense. In the most basic of ways, Vaemond is challenging the established way forward - aka Rhaenys has decreed they believe that Corlys will return, alive, until proven otherwise. He comes out of his shadowy little corner and contradicts Rhaenys’s plan of action. Sure, it’s a private affair, the Maester has gone, there’s only family there, but she’s still on the Driftwood Throne and he’s not giving that the respect it deserves and also he went against Baela saying Corlys was strong. So, Rhaenys comes out swinging: “I will not suffer the talk of crows in my house, Vaemond.”
Talk about strong openers: it’s HER house. It has been for six years, since Corlys left, and yet her authority is questioned still at least in this matter. At least, by Vaemond. She won’t have it. And Vaemond, within the sphere of ruling Driftmark and running House Velaryon, is nothing. No knighthood, no pleasantries, no familial bond or notion of friendship. Just his name and his otherness. It’s a little like later on in the episode, where Viserys uses his first name. It’s a reduction, in context. Rhaenys has more power. And fair enough, Vaemond sticks to his guns, doubles-down on the reality that Corlys might be dead. Though whether that’s his realism and pragmatism over his succession-radar dinging to high heaven, who can say...
Familiar ties are introduced then: Vaemond calls Corlys his brother (none of them ever call him by his first name, which is intriguing to me for some inexplicable reason), Baela calls Rhaenys her grandmother. THEN we get to the battle of “husband”. Vaemond says that Rhaenys in charge due to the “absence of her husband.” - it’s fine. It’s true. It’s enough. It’s a little sexist lesson directed at Baela about the way things are mean to go. He continues, to Baela, that the seat passes on Corlys’s death and THEN Rhaenys interupts him. It’s not his job to teach Baela or his place to patronise her. And whatever way he’s going, he’s wrong. As she expresses by saying the seat passes to Luce: “as is my lord husband’s desire.” - not just husband, as Corlys’s most recent moniker was. It’s hiding behind the officiousness, the formality, the power she has on that Throne. It’s detatched, and it’s detached for a reason. The focus isn’t on “husband” and therefore wife/woman, but on “lord” as in lady, as in nobility, as in in charge, ffs Vaemond, sit your ass down.
And then Vaemond pushes it, and Rhaenys gets angry. But it’s more than that, because she also speaks the kindest she has ever spoken to Vaemond, as much as she still remains detached. Vaemond makes his allusions to Luce’s true heritage and Rhaenys says: “Be careful, good-brother.” As much as he’s a git, she does care. She is warning him, as plainly as she can, and she can’t do it plainly because to discuss it is treason or approaching it, and there is, again a wonder on Baela’s perception of all of this, but anyway - she calls him good-brother. It’s emotive. And in turn, he calls her by her first name. He calls her: “Rhaenys”. In that moment, they’re being as candid as they can. He’s not talking to her in the role she inhabits, sat on that throne, but as a woman, as a human being with an opinion which he is certain of. He walks forwards before he says it, he crowds into her space as much as he can from their positions and it’s imploring. The subtext is there: be honest, stand with me, work with me. She can’t give him that. All she can give him is warnings and the loyalty she feels for him as much as she does for her Targaryen roots. She’s stuck between two positions. Two heads. Two hearts.
And she chooses her path. She reminds him that she cannot be apolitical in this, or unfeeling, or totally Velaryon. And she shows that as well as also showing, again, the power she has with her family ties: “My cousin, the King,” - Rhaenys could have just said “The King”, but she chooses to say what he is to her, and demonstrate that bond. Whether that’s apologetic because she can’t back Vaemond, or whether its a threat of potential favours she could call in if he pursues this... again, it’s unclear. It could be both, at the same time. Either way, it’s a power move. It’s something to straighten her spine and tell Vaemond.
But this time it’s Vaemond that does sort of win. And he reduces her back to a woman rather than ruler by ending it and calling her: “good-sister.” - it’s saying that the Targaryen family she has cannot help her, if she puts her faith in them. But she has her Velaryon roots and she can still choose to stand by him as well and back his claim. It’s demonstrating the conflict of loyalties and the choice that she has to wrestle with throughout that episode. You see it when we stick with her on that final parting shot, as she just breathes out and breaks eye contact with Vaemond.
BUT I realise that’s not at all what you asked, so excuse me for my little ramble, I just like words a lot and so I get excited when I have the opportunity to gab about them. You wanted to know whether his use of “a Queen” was a dig at Rhaenys - I’m not entirely sure I agree. I can see why you read that and the argument you make has definite merit. But I believe it is just about telling us about Alicent’s power in a dramatic fashion, rather than about gender. Alicent isn’t portrayed as a ruling Queen - in the scene where the ‘trial’ begins, it’s Otto sitting on the Throne.
I think the power of those words come from it being Alicent. One thought that struck me whilst writing this is Eve giving an interview about Episode 09 and the scene she has with Alicent, about how Rhaenys hadn’t really given her much thought prior to that, and doesn’t really know her mettle. So when Vaemond says that, he’s introducing an element of risk and kind of saying that Alicent is a bit of a wildcard because Rhaenys doesn’t have enough information to factor her in or know what her ultimate aim is. And I also think that “a Queen” is a little bit synonymous at this point with a larger collective of power, with the Small Council running things. The Queen running things is almost like a smokescreen and what Vaemond is alluding to is this sense of conspiracy. AND the fact that he knows all of this, despite them being in High Tide, speaks to his confidence and betrays his communication with the Small Council and Alicent. Plus, from a writer’s perspective, it’s a great flipping line to end on.
In that moment, Rhaenys is on the backfoot, and he knows something she doesn’t. Or, at least, he knows more than she does on a subject. That’s my two cents on it. But the whole scene is a wonderful battle of wills, opinions and subtext. It’s a conversation close to ignition.

Day 1
Ep 1 rise of the snakes
The old monastery was so empty
Those controllers are huge

Yes the tornado of creation the super op move that will only be used three(I think it’s three might be wrong) times throughout the intire series, but seriously so my situations could have been solved if they just made the tornado

The people that “spotted lord garmadon” need to get glasses. How do you confuse an adult dark warlord, with a literal 10 year old
The ninja bumping into eachother looks so awkward but is still somehow funny

Final thoughts
This is a good intro into the season but it drags on a bit with the green ninja tournament and without watching the pilots you might be a bit confused. Lloyd was as cute as I remembered. The ninja go the other hand were a bit boring. I liked the set up they did and the animation was good if not a bit clunky. Over all I give this episode a 7/10

“Last time, on Total Takes Action: our final three competed in an all-out, extra dramatic laser tag challenge with a few… twists. Alliances were formed, friendships were broken, and it was Peter who took the fall to give Scruffy a chance at the finale. With just one exciting challenge left, I’m sure you’re all wondering who will win- and there’s only one way to find out: right here, right now, on Total! Takes! Action!”
The sky is clear and blue, the pigeons are cooing, and the smell of breakfast sausage is filling the air as Scruffy and O wait in a very short line for their complementary “final two breakfast” in the craft services tent.
Chef heaps a few sausages, eggs, and waffles on each plate and shoos the players off, both of which immediately gravitate towards the opposite ends of the picnic table and eat in silence. Scruffy paces around their end of the table, swiping forks, knives, and spoons, just in case. O draws a little smiley face on his plate with syrup.

O: “Well… this is it,”
---
SCRUFFY: “Today’s the big day,”
---
O: “I can’t believe how far I made it,”
---
SCRUFFY: “I can’t believe how far O made it,”
---
O: “I’m not exactly winning material… but then again, neither is Scruffy,”

SCRUFFY: “He’s a big softie. Not nearly as well-trained, unless you count psychology- but then again, I’m an expert at that, too. He’s just gone to- ugh- “therapy”. Who has therapy helped?”

O: “I’m thinking that once I get back, winnings or not, I might cancel my sessions with Dr. Anderson. I feel like… I don’t know. Pathologizing my problems has made them worse, somehow. Maybe it’s time to try a different approach. The… Scruffy approach, I guess,”

SCRUFFY: “Still, I can’t help but wonder if all of this dedication- all the hours I’ve spent rewatching the original show, all my community college classes, all my reading and training- has really helped me get here. I’ve been missing an obvious pattern. If only I could figure out what that is…”
---
O looks up from his syrup smile and waves at Scruffy. “Hey, bro. Good luck today,”
Scruffy blinks. “Um… okay,”
“Attention, campers! Your final challenge starts in five minutes out by the trailers. Time to bring your A-Game!”
---
Scruffy and O stand an arm’s length apart as Chris paces between them, humming to himself. “You’ve lived. You’ve loved. You’ve laughed. And most importantly, you’ve lost. Today is the final test of strength, wits, smarts and endurance- both of you will enter, but only one will emerge a hero. And with a big fat check,” Chris chuckles.
“Today’s final challenge is a multi-part rendezvous across the set. You will start here and make your way through the city,”
Scruffy immediately jumps into a running stance, ready to take off.
Chris grins. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you. The first leg of your race to the finish line was inspired by your very first challenge here- the birdocalypse. Thousands of territorial birds are having their afternoon nap on the city set. Wake them up, and you might have a problem,” he goes on. “After that, you’ll make your way through a ghost-filled maze, inspired by the video game and period flick challenges. Once you’re out, you’ll run the final stretch to Lot B- a functional studio next door. The first to arrive wins the prize. Ready?”
Scruffy and O exchange nervous glances.
“Go!”
The two don't run, but awkwardly walk off in the same direction, as if taking a pleasant afternoon stroll.
O’s eyes drift over to Scruffy and he winces.
---
O: “Is it weird to ask them for advice? I feel like it’s weird, but…”
---
“Hey, dude,” O says, looking over. “I know we’re competing and all, but-”
“Shh!” Scruffy interrupts him, holding a finger to their lips. They point ahead, where a black mass is covering the city set- it’s almost like an oil spill, but instead of the viscous glimmering liquid, it’s hundreds of sleeping crows.
Scruffy goes first while O hangs back, looking ahead nervously. The former moves through the set, stepping over birds on the road and ducking under birds on the street signs and lamps. They delicately step, roll, and skip through the set with expert agility while O watches on.
---
SCRUFFY: “This isn't so hard! Just a little yoga moves and some spatial awareness. Maybe I haven’t lost my zing after all!”
---
Scruffy reaches the other side and turns to wave at O- in a clearly taunting way. O crosses his arms and glares.
---
O: “Yeah- no chance of friends there,”
---
Scruffy reaches the mouth of the maze and chuckles. “Easy. Is this all you got, Chris?”
Chris rolls his eyes and pulls out a large remote. His thumb hovers over the big red button on the surface for a few moments, taunting Scruffy, before he slams it and the maze lifts off the ground and begins rotating on a large metal plate.
Scruffy watches the ground disappear beneath them and sighs.
---
SCRUFFY: “WHY would I say that? That’s the easiest mistake to avoid on this show!”
---
Back on the city set, O tip-toes over the birds, nearly stumbling over each one. He’s breathing heavily, and almost falls over at least ten times.
But, he reaches the end and sighs before jogging off. O reaches the entrance of the rotating maze and gawks at it.
“Yeahhhh,” Chris grins. “Don’t worry, though, we’re prepared for this.”
Chef wheels out a canon.
---
Scruffy wanders through the maze, dizzy and unbalanced as it spins around itself. They’re about as green as their hair, but still pressing on nonetheless.
---
SCRUFFY: “I’ve been trying to improve my gag reflex since island. I’m usually pretty good, but I have… a thing about other people getting sick in front of me. As long as that doesn’t happen, I’m set,”
---
O’s screams echo, growing closer and closer before he slams into the concrete of the maze behind Scruffy, leaving a hole in the ceiling. He coughs.
“Don’t throw up!” Scruffy shouts.
O stands, rubbing his head. “Wasn’t gonna. Don’t worry, man, I’ll leave you be,”
Scruffy nods and the two run in opposite directions.
---
O: “I get it! Scruffy has nothing to get from me, so why would I bother them?”
---
Scruffy steps through the maze, scratching their head as it spins. “This isn’t good. I’m all turned around,”
Chris’ voice blares over the intercom: “That’s the point, Total Drama Genius!”
They sigh and hold onto the wall while stumbling along. The maze suddenly lurches and begins turning in the opposite direction, sending Scruffy tumbling to the ground. They groan and sit up against the wall. “It’s hopeless. I keep lying to myself and telling myself I can do this, but I can’t! I don’t know what I’m doing,” they turn to the camera. “I’m sorry, Jules.”
---
O walks along, faring much better than Scruffy. A light breeze tussles his hair and he turns to where it’s coming from- and just around that corner, a beam of sunlight filters through. He grins and jogs forward.
As he rounds the corner and sees the exit, though, he hears a loud cry. The sound of Scruffy’s wailing carries through the maze, and it stops O in his tracks.
He hesitates.
---
O: “I know I shouldn’t go back. I mean, what if it’s a trap? What if Scruffy is just trying to get my help and then dump me after? But…” he sighs. “I’m not like them. I’m a nice person, and there’s nothing weak about that.”
---
O turns and jogs off into the dark.
---
Scruffy, curled into a ball on the floor, cries in anguish.
“Hey? Dude?”
They whimper loudly. O sits down next to them and sighs.
“Listen, I’m not gonna try to fix your problems, ‘cause I know that’s not what you like,” O says. “But you should know that… well, you don’t have to win this. You’re not a weak person for not being mean and conniving like the people who get far on this show…”
“But I want to be!” they whimper, eyes full of tears. “I want to be Heather!”
“But you’re not… Heather,” O looks around awkwardly. “You shouldn’t want to be, either?”
“I’ve been studying this show since primary, I’ve taken all the classes, done all the research, trained to perfection- why am I so bad at this?”
O pats Scruffy’s shoulder. “You’re not. You’re good.”
“But not like you. You didn’t even try and you made it to the same exact spot I got to! I don’t get it. Were you a pawn? A twist villain I didn’t see coming?” Scruffy rocks back and forth.
O raises an eyebrow. “Um… no… I don’t know, man, I’m just nice,”
“You can’t win just by being nice, I mean, that’s… that’s improbable! The nicest contestants always get got!” Scruffy says. “I’m nice! I’m not mean!”
“Yeah, man, but you’re kinda… uh, you know… you’re not the easiest to be around,”
Scruffy’s eyes water again. “Wh-what do you mean?”
O sucks in his breath through his teeth. “You’re… kind of intense, dude. All you talk about is the show, and, I mean… you’ve got some serious walls up, man,”
“I-I do not! Ask Jules, she’ll tell you! Julia knows!”
“Saying that one of the meanest contestants on the show knows you more than anyone is… not great, Scruffy. Haven’t you made any other friends?”
“Haven’t you?”
O frowns. “I guess not. But… I mean… I dunno,”
“When you say you’re nice, all I hear is that you’re a pushover. You let people use you!” Scruffy says, crossing their arms. “I’m not like that! I don’t like being pushed around!”
“Says the guy who went nuts cause they thought a girl would like them more if they won some dumb game show,”
“Says the guy who hasn’t had a single steady friendship since the show started!”
“Says the guy who needs to impress everyone with how great they are!”
“Says the guy who does the same thing, Dr. O!”
Both huff and turn away from each other. The intercom crackles to life and Chris’ voice sounds slightly peeved. “Hey, guys, this heart-to-heart has been great, but you are IN A CHALLENGE! Now get to it!”
The maze suddenly starts spinning faster, throwing Scruffy and O to opposite sides of the hall they were seated in. Each grab on to a corner of the black walling and hold on for dear life as they’re thrown around like they’re getting flushed down a toilet.
“I- can’t- hold- on!” O shouts.
“Take my hand!” Scruffy throws out an arm as O flies off the wall, catching him just in the nick of time. “Maybe I can be… nice after all!”
O smiles gratefully and nods. “Let’s get out of here!”
The two fashion makeshift ice picks out of the forks Scruffy had swiped from the craft services tent and rake their way up the wall as the maze spins even faster.
“This way!” O instructs, retracing his earlier steps to the exit of the maze. The two reach the door and look to the ground below, where only a tiny kiddie pool was left to break their fall.
“Ready?” O shouts.
Scruffy nods. “On the count of three!”
“One!”
“Two!”
“Three!”
The two hold hands as they jump, both screaming and flailing their free arms until they land in the shallow pool below.
“We… we made it!” Scruffy shouts with glee as O coughs up a mouthful of water behind them. “We did it together!”
O stands. “We did, didn’t we? Together,” O puts an arm over Scruffy’s shoulder. “No strings attached.”
“No expectations,”
“No value!”
Scruffy nods. “Let’s wing this,”
The two start off on the final track, throwing the doors of a large set building open and running through it, approaching a final set of double doors.
“Hey,” Scruffy jogs up to O. “May the best man win, right?”
O salutes them. “May the best man win!”

“And that’s the story of how I lost my first tooth,” Staci says. “And no one ever found the hammer.”
Caesar massages his temples. “Another fascinating story from Staci. Anyone else have something to add?”
Luckily, before someone else can add on, Bonnie runs on stage. Caesar sighs with relief. “Bonnie, here to save the day again! What’s the news?”
“They’re coming!”
Caesar squeals, and the peanut gallery turns to the double doors backstage in anticipation. “Can we get a countdown?”
“Five!” Ass and Courtney both lean forward, then notice each other and glare.
“Four!” Sha-Mod and McLovin are busy giving each other crudely drawn stick ‘n poke tattoos of each other’s faces.
“Three!” Julia shoves Patrick out of her face when he gets to close.
“Two!” Mal blows a gum bubble and texts something on her phone.
“One!” Bonnie takes a seat and Caesar puts a hand on their shoulder.
The doors burst open, and Scruffy runs in.
“The winner of Total Takes Action, everyone!” Caesar shouts. “Scruffy!”
A shower of confetti and balloons fall from the ceiling and the crowd cheers. Julia stands and runs to the doors, hugging Scruffy. “I missed you!”
O jogs in behind them, breathing heavily. He notices Scruffy and Julia and gives the former a thumbs up. The peanut gallery continues whooping and cheering as Patrick storms over and pull the two apart.
“What a season, what a cast!” Caesar says. “And here’s our runner up, O!”
O waves as the crowd cheers for him, then collapses. A select group from the peanut gallery- Michela, Peter, Kelly, and Al- run to help him off the floor and into the stands.
"You did well," Michela says.
Peter grins. "You did awesome!"
"Even though I didn't win?"
"Hey, man, you have integrity. That's what counts," Michela continues. "Dinner tonight, on us?"
O smiles. "Deal,"
Caesar turns to Bonnie. “Thoughts, feelings?”
“Not many. I’m a little hungry,”
“Oh, God, me too. Those finger sandwiches are three parts air, I swear,” Caesar says.
“Uh, hello? SCRUFFY WON!” Julia shouts.
“Oh, right,” Caesar says. “Scruffy, do you want a sandwich?”
He grins as Julia huffs.
“Well, this has been Total Takes Action- The Aftermath. We’ll see you all soon for- what’s this?” Caesar presses an earpiece, and then bursts out laughing. “Oh, my God- no- really, you’re joking? You’re not?” he turns to the audience. “Chris McLean has been arrested and is currently in custody for illicit activities!”
The crowd cheers even louder, the big screen rolls down and displays a live newscast. Chris is being led from the Action set in handcuffs, Chef and the interns watching from behind a police barricade.
"You CANNOT do this to me! Do you know who I am?!" Chris shouts. "Chef- call my lawyer- call the producers- call my mom!"
"You should've remembered our anniversary,"
"CHEF!"
The police drag Chris into the back of their squad car while he screams. The wind picks up and his hair detaches itself, flying away in the breeze.
"MY TOUPEE!"
Chef rolls his eyes. A white van pulls up just as the cops slam the door of their cruiser on Chris, and a team of hazmat-suited scientists hop out of the back. The broadcast ends and turns back to the studio, where a blonde woman with a tight face reads off the happenings to new viewers. The monitor turns off.
Scruffy raises an eyebrow. “What happened?”
“No official reasons yet,” Caesar says. “In due time, I suppose. In the meantime, we’ll-”
An intern runs over to the host and hands him a letter. He huffs and opens it. “It’s from Scary. It just says “told you so”,”
Bonnie rolls their eyes.
“Well… all I have to say is that if this was the last time we got to be together, I’m glad we met,” Scruffy says. “I love you guys.”
The former contestants turn to each other with warm smiles.
“And yet… this can’t be the end,” Scruffy says. “We haven’t had a musical season yet!”
“Woah, woah, let’s save that for the Gemmy’s,” Caesar chuckles. “We’re about out of air time, but… I want to say that it’s been a hell of a season, everyone! See you all soon!”

hi! i saw your ask about taekook and i wanted to say that i agree with some things but not others. not being a taekooker, and mostly thinking jikook are one of the closest pairs i wanted to say some things. ah, first i wanted to ask though why do you think tae and jungkook are so different from each other. and then i wanted to share some of my observations.
taehyung and jungkook seem, since the its1 talk, but especially since last year to be getting closer. genuinely closer, not a 'let's amp it up for the cam closer'. most of the little facts of them getting together more often and who mentions the other more is always taehyung, but that's also the case in jikook's relationship. jimin tends to always be the one saying little tidbits and sharing a pic or two of jungkook.
taehyung mentioned having a private trip together with jungkook and dressing each other up in the vhopemin vlive where jungkook joined later. they mentioned going to the fortune teller (and had that weird convo about being fire and water and needing each other - which to me sounded kinda fanservicey ngl). they've mentioned more than once that they played games all through the night together. they have drinks together at tae's house judging by the talks they had on the recent 'do you know me game'. there are more things i think, but they slip my mind and i'm not about to go search for them in taekooker blogs - ew.
also they do seem to have several interests in common. their musical preferences overlap in some cases (silk sonic, bruno mars, pink sweats, park hyoshin are just a few examples), they both like to play games, etc. i have seen people comment that a couple of tae's wooga squad friends only follow jungkook for example too, so we never know. they might all hang out sometimes, we're just not privy to it.
also they seem to be very aligned in terms of the direction they want to go. tae always being one of the more individualistic members and it seems jungkook is feeling the same, wanting to go his own way. their mindsets seem to be compatible in that way too, and it might create more conversation topics.
this is just to say that maybe as you mentioned in the past tae is not your favorite bts member, maybe some things about taekook's friendship slip your mind or you don't pay much attention to it, and that's fine as we all have our preferences. but i do think it's not very accurate to picture taekook's relationship now as still just coworkers. they are definitely good friends who hang out on the regular.
Hey anon, thanks for your input. You're right, I'm not a fan of Tae, but I do know about those bits and pieces of information regarding him and Jungkook since the ITS talk. I'm definitely not actively looking for taekook content, but since all this was said in the context of vlives with other members as well, I have watched. I do admit that some stuff did slip my mind when I wrote my response, but overall it doesn't change too much of my opinion, but I am taking all this into consideration. The previous anon was the one who said they believe taekook were just coworkers, but I did mention that I think they're friends as well, but perhaps not the closest in the group and I stand by that.
The current state of their friendship certainly improved compared to how it used to be in 2020 and I'm not surprised they hang out. They're not strangers, they didn't have a fight that we know of and they're cool with each other. I recently rewatched the LA vminkook vlive and the LV vminhopekook vlive and I think it showed as much as it's possible how they're all fine and that they hang out even behind the camera. As I think I mentioned back then as well, I still hope Tae or JK would show more of that photo in which they dressed up because I'm dying to see and know what it was all about because it looked fun and a bit crazy and totally up to taekook's alley.
A few things I want to mention as well is that it's not surprising that both Jimin and Tae are the ones who mention or post about JK simply because JK is not into that. And about the Wooga squad, that's something which is pure speculation at this point and who follows who on IG is an argument that I don't like to use or take too much into consideration in any case, not just taekook.
You're right about the similar music taste and both being more individualistic in terms of wanting to do stuff on their own and that's certainly a common point. I'm not denying that, it's just (and this is nothing more than my feeling which is nothing but biased and I admit that), I don't think they click. It boils down to that. At least not on a level that would make them really close. I think that was the point I was trying to make in my previous answer.
