Sovereignty (Eyes In The Dark)
Step into a transcendent realm where ancient wisdom intertwines with futuristic visions, where the boundaries of artistic expression dissolve into a mesmerizing amalgamation of Indigenous futurism, glitch art, abstract painting, and performance. "Sovereignty (Eyes in the Dark)" stands as a radiant testament to the boundless creativity and bold experimentation of its creator.
This maximalist masterpiece, created by an enigmatic artist whose name remains concealed, invites viewers to embark on a transformative journey through the layers of time and space. The canvas serves as a portal, revealing a hypnotic collision of motifs that challenge conventional artistic norms. Indigenous futurism, with its captivating blend of ancestral narratives and speculative futures, forms the core foundation of this creation.
At its heart, "Sovereignty (Eyes in the Dark)" pulses with the vibrant energy of glitch art. Fragmented digital forms intermingle, their pixelated imperfections weaving a narrative of fragmented realities and technological flux. The deliberate juxtaposition of glitches against traditional artistic elements establishes a powerful visual tension, igniting contemplation on the ever-evolving relationship between humanity and technology.
Abstract painting emerges as an elemental force, transcending the canvas' surface. Strokes of color converge and diverge, evoking a sense of chaos and harmony simultaneously. The fluid interplay between vibrant hues and organic forms embodies the artist's exploration of the ethereal nature of existence, where perception melds with the intangible.
Embedded within "Sovereignty (Eyes in the Dark)" is an element of live performance, an ephemeral experience that breathes life into the artwork. The artist's presence becomes an integral part of the piece, engaging viewers in a profound exchange of energy and emotion. Through this immersive interaction, the artwork invites introspection, urging audiences to question their place within the intricate web of past, present, and future.
With each gaze, "Sovereignty (Eyes in the Dark)" reveals hidden depths, a visual symphony of disparate elements coalescing into a harmonious whole. It is an evocative testament to the artist's mastery of multiple mediums and their unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. Prepare to surrender to the enigmatic allure of this mesmerizing creation, where indigenous futurism, glitch art, abstract painting, and performance converge to illuminate new dimensions of possibility.

Hi, I’m New
I guess I’ll consider this an introduction post of sorts?
I’m a baby brujx who just recently re?discovered brujeria. My mom is white, but my dad’s family is mexican. My grandparents on that side are both dead, my grandmother passing away 23 years ago and my grandfather 3. We didn’t see him a lot, because even though he mellowed out in his old age, he was abusive to my dad when he was a kid.
They assimilated a lot from their native culture to an american one. They did not teach my dad and aunts a lot of spanish, and just didn’t keep some traditions alive.
All of this is to say, I grew up very white. I am white-passing, and when I am not tan, you can’t really tell that I’m half mexican. I have a decent spanish accent from my dad passing on the little bit he knows to me, but I am only able to carry a casual conversation in spanish. There are bits and pieces that survived, like my grandmother’s green chile and salsa recipes, listening to conción mexicana on the radio every sunday, and my dad scaring me with the story of the one time he heard La Llorona.
I grew up catholic (both sides of the family) but always felt a little off with it. I was intrigued by witchcraft, but never felt right delving into paganism and wicca. I looked white and sounded white and was identified as white, but my dad always told me that I was mexican.
I came across the term ‘bruja’ a couple months ago. I knew what a bruja was, a witch from central or south america, but I didn’t know what a bruja was. I looked deeper, and as I learned more, something clicked.
The catholic school I went to when I was young taught me about La Virgen de Guadalupe. The way my father does the sign of the cross with a kiss at the end. My aunts have what I call pseudo-ofrendas with spaces dedicated to deceased family, or the famous ‘Jesus Wall’ covered in crucifixes and saints and the Virgen Mary like alteras.
By learning about brujería, I feel like I am reconnecting with something that was taken from me that I am only now realizing was missing. My journey is just starting, and if you have read this far, you are welcome to join me and give me feedback.
¡Gracias todos!

Hello Beloved...Who Am I?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi, I am Luar Wolf, and I use Lulu. 32 years old. Sun in Aries, Rising Leo, Moon in Capricorn. I home many identities in my lived experiences carrying each with honor and grace. I am Puertorriqueñx and Dominicanx with ancestral roots and lineages of Afro-Descendiente, Indigenous Taino, and Basque-Iberian. I am non-binary, trans, queer, and intersex. I was born, raised, and lived on Occupied Munsee Lenape Land (New York City). I currently live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
For more than a decade, my ancestral and cultural roots in Afro-Caribbean traditions have evolved into practicing Espiritismo, Palo Brillumba (Vriyumba), and Ocha. As a seasoned Espiritista, I function as a medium, facilitating and channeling the transmission of messages from spirit guides and ancestral beings. My expertise encompasses guiding Mesa Blanca (White Table) ceremonies, adeptly interpreting the guiding central figures of one's Cuadro Espiritual (Spiritual Court), and assisting in healing one's ancestral lineages and generational curses.
Within the complex framework of Palo Brillumba (or Vriyumba), I hold the initiatory titles of Tata Nkisi and now Tata Nganga, defined and translated as the 'Father of the Spirits' and 'Father of the Nganga'. This tradition, deeply rooted in the Afro-Cuban Bantu/Kongo traditions, weaves together elements of sorcery, necromancy, and a profound connection with natural forces, utilizing the sacred bones of the dead and tools of the natural world.
My exploration extends into Ocha (also known as Lukumi and Santeria), where I am known as an Aborisha, walking towards the revered Kariocha initiation. My Alagbatori is Oya Yansa, the Orisa marked on my head (Ori), who is the Orisha of Storms, Gatekeeper of the Cemeteries, and Queen of the Dead. I have received through ceremonies by my Elders the following: Elekes, the Warrior Orishas, Olokun, Ibejis, & Inle.
Originating from a foundation in Witchcraft, I am an eclectic practitioner of Traditional Witchcraft and hold an intimate relationship with Hekate, Queen of Witches. I work exclusively with Her epithet of Hekate Lyko, Lukaine, & Lukodamna. In these epithets, She is the Wolf-Formed, Wolf-Tamer, & She-Wolf.
Finally, I am a Reiki Practitioner. My skills have been refined through decolonial training with the NYC POC Healing Circle. I have shifted my reiki practices to be respectful of their cultural origins to one more aligned with my cultural practices of 'Laying of the Hands', a similar energetic healing practice.
In my community work, I am dedicated to crafting sacred spaces grounded in a decolonial and healing justice framework. My focus is on nurturing the transformative journey, embracing the metamorphosis into the rooted sacredness of our true selves. Drawing upon the intricate webs of ancestral lineages, I actively dismantle generational trauma and break curses through the practice of ancestral veneration and spirit work.
I extend an invitation to you to engage with my approach by bringing your full authenticity, sharing your personal truths, and embracing your lived experiences. Together, let us embark on the profound work of honoring ourselves, ancestors-in-the-making. As the living dreams and legacy of those who paved the way before us, we straddle two worlds—one foot planted firmly in this reality and the other in the realm where we connect with ancestral dead and our guiding spirits, present in our first and last breaths.
Sincerely,
La Loba Luna Luz,

Sharing a friend who is raising funds to help support their career of spiritual coaching for folks with a focus on trans bipoc. Goddexx has been facing intense hardship the past year & any support is appreciated. Thanks for reading. A little from the GFM post:
Who I am:
I am Goddexx (They/Goddexx). I am a Full Spectrum Coach, Performance Artist, Brujx, Priestexx, and Author. I am trans, two-spirit, fluid, and non-binary.
I’ve been on my gender transition journey for nearly a decade, and since then I have begun to bridge the gaps within my full spectrum experience, spirituality, and sexuality.
I grew up in an extreme Catholic household where I was taught that being trans — or anything that deviated from “normal” — was a sin. I repressed a lot of who I was through various addictions and harmed myself and those around me severely in the process.
I am now sober and have been in recovery for the last 6 years. I am also currently coming into a deeper understanding of what it means to be highly sensitive, empathic, and disabled in a world that shames all of these ways of being.
I am a full spectrum human bridging and discovering how all the different aspects of myself are in relationship to each other. I am a trans and non-binary human reclaiming spirituality, relationship, and ritual. I create prayer through conversations, poetry, performances, affirmations, wisdom texts, and by supporting others through their personal spiritual and relationship journeys.
Why your support matters:
Writing has kept me alive and empowered me to release shame and step into my becoming.
Release is the first phase of spiritual transformation in my first poetry book Butterfly. It’s also the next book I am birthing, which is all about releasing shame. The funds from this ritual will support:
-The creation of my next book, Release Shame and Receive Abundance: A Healing Book for Trans, Nonbinary, and Gender Expansive Humans — a book of prose, poetry, prayer, and memoir that will provide healing messages and affirm the abundance that trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people inherently carry. Funds will support: my time commitment + investment for writing and paying all collaborators — editors, a designer, a book doula for proposal, etc.
- 2 fully paid scholarships for QTIBIPOC who desire my mentorship as a full-spectrum coach.
-A community ritual space for contributors at the end of this campaign to close the spellwork. Details TBD
-Me slowing down and honoring my natural rhythm. Being in integrity with Full Spectrum Coaching as I navigate housing stability + a care team

Hey there! Welcome to my page🖤 Here’s a quick blurb about me:
My name is Kaiden (they/them) and I am a neurodivergent queer practicing brujx that also has a passion for art and crafting.
Most of my crafts dive into my exploration of the path I’m on, many pieces are one of a kind and whatever comes to me during divination. My main divination is tarot, which is a current muse of my creations. I am working on making a tarot deck along with tarot bags and other accessories to aid in the usage of them.
You can purchase my works here , and keep up to date with my creative processes on this blog or on Twitter with the same handle!

Cemetery Boys AU where the Brujx travel around looking for spirits that need to be released and Julian's group have a Buzzfeed Unsolved supernatural style channel where they run around in haunted houses and Yadriel joins the crew so he can have easy access to areas with loads of spirits and he spends most of the time cringing with the ghosts while the group freaks out over flickering lights.

One of the worst YA books that is bad "ownvoices" that I've personally read was Cemetery Boys, and it's a great example of how silly ownvoices as a term has become because the author is of some degree of Latine descent and nonbinary, but it was really clear they didn't speak Spanish at all because they were absolutely obsessed with doing the "Latinx" thing with every gendered Spanish word, to the degree that because it was about magic users, I had to read the word "brujx" multiple times per page in some chapters....
Like, you know, maybe a label such as "ownvoices" should be based on something a little more than just belonging to the same broad demographic groups as your characters. I'm not saying that writing should only be autobiography, but I was honestly shocked a gringo (gringx?) hadn't written it and I'm not sure that their representation was any more "authentic" (I'm sure it involved some research, but it wasn't their personal cultural experiences) than one written by a non-Latine person. That doesn't make it a bad book; plenty of great books are written by people from different cultural backgrounds as their characters. But I'm not sure it's really "ownvoices" is what I'm saying, and it makes me think about how I feel like that label is becoming more about representing a specific kind of POC/LGBTQ+/etc. "experience" that (predominantly white and straight) publishers want to see, than actually reflecting its authors' ACTUAL life experiences as the term would imply?
It reminded me of a point a lesbian mutual made about how if she were to write a book about a lesbian teen going through conversion therapy, that would require just as much research for her as it would for a straight author because she never went through conversion therapy and had a largely accepting family and social environment from an early age. But if she were to write a book about that, not only would it be praised as "ownvoices" but a lot of people would ASSUME it was based on her own experiences unless (or even if) she said otherwise, whereas a straight cis woman writing an identical book would be raked over the coals in the current discourse environment....
--
Brujx? BRUJX?!?!
And yes, I've seen plenty of people complaining about how they only get approached for ~ownvoices~ stuff and how they're expected to write about plantains and colonialism, not whatever actually moves them.
What was supposed to be a chance for people to at least get a foot in the door past the slush pile has turned into another straitjacket and double standard for people not seen as the default.
Not that we should stop asking who the author is and if they did their research/knew what they were talking about in the first place, but the hashtaggy version has gone awry as these things frequently do.
As usual, we focus more on things like book content than on employment equality behind the scenes. The really significant thing is to diversify who has power. They can make their own damn decisions what to do with it.

Imagine if yadriel found like a diary from a far back generation brujx and it's just them ranting about their gender dysphoria and how hard it is to even try to get themself to figure it out let alone others, so yadriel is just balling his eyes out bc this is exactly how he feels and it hit him that Julian was right. There are, well WAS more trans/queer brujx then him. Just that this one gave up.
