Gotham Villain Du Jour captures Batman and Nightwing and injects them with a truth serum to make them tell him their secret identities.
Instead, they end up arguing with each other while giving away no personal information.
Villain is uncomfortable.
During the course of the argument, they end up angrily confessing their love for each other, just in time for the rescuing members of the family to hear.
Everyone is uncomfortable.
Villain defeated, Batman and Nightwing are herded into the Batmobile, where they angrily make out in the backseat while Red Hood and Red Robin drive them home.
Jason wins $10 (it would have been $20, but he lost half on the technicality that they were In Public during the confession and therefore still being secretive).
Reds Hood and Robin have to drag them apart to the med bay to get them treatment.
Alfred is 100% unfazed, but also not paid enough for this shit.

no capes AU where Bruce’s parents don’t die but Dick’s still do
Dick’s somehow allowed to stay on with Haly’s Circus and he grows up performing in his parent’s honor every night. And now Bruce can just be Dick’s suitor. No angst no baggage no all-consuming guilt no complicated history just schmoop
Just a guy who watched Dick’s solo act on the first night the circus came into town and was so mesmerized he had to find him after the show. Who was so thrilled by Dick accepting his offer to show him around while he’s in town that he spent hours contemplating the cut of his sports coats and the colors of his ties, everything feeling too stiff and too formal and too unlike the kind of man he wants to come across as to the man like a bird he first saw flying freely through the air. Who’s father, when he calls to ask about borrowing a pair of gold cuff links, hearing the tone in his voice, clarifies for him that what he’s feeling is called ‘nerves’
Who treats him nice and takes him for long weekends to the cape in his sportscar. Who he wants to shower in flowers and gifts and can’t stop repeating how gorgeous he is. He holds up his hands and closes one eye and frames Dick’s face with his thumbs and index fingers and tells him how pretty he looks in this light. But he loves listening to him talk, too, and this kid can talk for hours, about anything. About how his parents teaching him how to mend &repair their equipment means he never has to be at the mercy of the extent of other people’s knowledge. How he never has to update to nets and lines he’s unfamiliar with when the tools for their maintenance become obsolete. About the techniques he’s developed that mean no one ever has to die from highwire acts again.
When the circus moves on to New York, Bruce takes the train up every weekend and waits for Dick in wings, always with a bouquet of flowers in hand.
At the end of the season, for no reason at all, Haly’s is convinced to take up an indefinite residence in Gotham, with health insurance and full benefits provided by Wayne Enterprises.
Bruce funds the renovation of the gymnastics gym downtown, stipulates that it must be completely free for all to attend, and names it after John and Mary Grayson. Dick cries when he sees his parents’ names on the plaque, and he gets to cut the big red ribbon at the reopening and they fall in love and live happily ever after etc etc
