You know I don’t think we make big enough of a deal about in the pilot episode when Patricia is talking about how Joy’s disappeared and hasn’t called her, and Jerome says to her, “Patricia, you’ve disappeared more than enough times.”

What does that mean????? Has she run away from school a bunch before??? Not shown up to dinners?? Dodged her friends’ calls?? Jerome just says this pretty casually without any additional explanation and it’s never addressed again. Bro literally what does he mean that Patricia’s disappeared a bunch of times?? That feels like something significant that there’s a story behind. What does this mean. What happened. I need answers!!!

something about arin/luzu returning while etoiles has been fighting the code on and off for the past month..

like the messages luzu sent tonight happening only a few days before etoiles final, big fight with the code cannot be a coincidence

this one says “there is a hidden danger”

and this one says “there will have to be a final sacrifice.”

is the final sacrifice gonna be etoiles?? LIKE?? there’s no way this is a coincidence is there? etoiles is almost positive he’ll lose, he’s the only one (that we know of) that truly knows how strong the code is and he STILL thinks that despite his best efforts, he will lose.

and now arin/luzu is talking about a “final sacrifice” and a “hidden danger” right before this big code fight so does that make him the sacrifice? he’s done the calculations and if this code he’s gonna meet is any stronger than the last he swears up and down he’s done for unless he’s able to use dark metal armor meaning he might die meaning he might be a sacrifice?

or it could have something to do with max and his weird code parasite infection thing but i think these threes lore will all tie in together somehow

It was supposed to turn out differently.

Get the Pure Hearts, save all the worlds. That was how it was supposed to go.

Except now they found themselves facing against the unhinged jester who they had thought was merely Bleck's minion; along with a creation of his own monstrosity.

And Luigi was caught right in the middle of it.

"Isn't this delightful?", Dimentio's almost musical voice trilled. "What a glorious construction of myself and our Man in Green!"

Mario didn't answer. He clenched his fists, eyes burning. Neither he nor his companions could move because magical binds were latched around their wrists, their power forcing them to kneel on the ground.

"Surely", continued the jester, his eyes equally burning back with gleeful malice, "You ought to thank your brother for this wonderful turn of events."

Mario's heart stung as he looked at his brother. Luigi was pinned in place. Dark magic in part from Dimentio and the Chaos Heart prevented him from moving anywhere, locked in a fabricated prison. Even more disturbingly, the floral sprout that had seized control of him the moment Dimentio had activated it, had crawled ever tighter around the gaps of his cheek bones, across his mouth, and around his neck. Winding ever so much further down his body until every limb was under command of the parasite.

"You cannot begin to imagine how much I have dreamt of this moment!", Dimentio cried as he floated next to Luigi.

The green plumber still seemed to have life in him, for he whimpered and attempted to move away from Dimentio's very presence. Mario saw glints of tears in those innocent blue eyes.

"Getting the heroes to do all the work. Pretending to be the Count's loyal minion and acting like I was invested in his plan to destroy the worlds, when all I really wanted to do was recreate everything in my own perfect image! And to top it all off, the fabled Man in Green is the brother of the hero!"

Dimentio suddenly stopped his monologue and quick as a blink was right in front of Mario.

"So tell me, Man in Red", asked the jester. His eyes bore into Mario with manic exhilaration. "Doesn't that get you excited?"

Mario growled in response. It was all he could do, for his shaking wrists were bound so tight that he couldn't move them to strike even if he wanted to. All he could do was glare back with a look so scorching, it would've no doubt melted Dimentio on the spot.

The jester looked over Mario in thought, and then he pressed a glowing hand to Mario's chest. Mario gasped and tried to throw him off, but the jester's dark magic kept him firmly in place. The plumber felt like he was being searched inside. A powerful force was making its way in places that it shouldn't ever be and Mario was frozen in place, beside himself as he found himself unable to even speak.

He heard Peach give a cry of concern.

Seeming to find what he was looking for, the jester then gave an amused smirk and lifted his hand away. Mario gasped as if he had been submerged in water, and just as quickly the hatred he felt for this twisted jester came back in force.

"Interesting", Dimentio spoke up before Mario could. He paused and looked back at Luigi. The green plumber had seemingly reacted to whatever the jester had been doing to Mario, as the tears were now pouring down his cheeks and the vines had wrapped around him even tighter.

"I wonder what would happen...?", the jester mused as he turned back to Mario. He grinned widely.

"How would it feel, if the piece of him that resides within you were to just...disappear?"

Mario shook with hatred.

Dimentio cackled.

"Oh it's perfect!", he shrieked. "Hurt the enemy through love. So poetic! But in my world, you won't need any feelings like that."

He snapped his fingers and the vines holding Luigi's limbs loosened a little and the green plumber slumped to the ground.

Mario heard him sobbing.

"Witness the birth of a new world! My world!", Dimentio cried joyfully. "You will wither away as I remake this pitiful existence. Get ready for the Greatest Sh-"

He was suddenly cut off as something struck him hard in the chest. Dimentio shrieked again as he was thrown back by the force, tumbling and rolling over before colliding with the nearest wall.

The jester staggered to his feet, hand to his chest. His breaths pained.

The air was suddenly silent, save for the laboured breaths of Mario, who had somehow broken out of the magical binds and had punched Dimentio with every ounce of strength he had. It seemed to take a lot out of him though, for the red plumber stumbled as he tried to right himself up. His fist shook from both exhaustion and anger, as he stared the jester down, daring him to make another move.

Peach, Bowser, Tippi, and everyone else were equally as stunned and afraid as they gazed at the Red Hero. Luigi looked too through glazed eyes; admiration and fear for his brother temporarily overcoming the magic.

Dimentio looked down at his chest as he took his hand away. The diamond on his chest was now cracked, shards falling away from it like dust.

For a fleeting moment the jester stared in disbelief, and then all too quickly his expression became jovial and dangerous again.

"Well", he said coldly. "This got interesting."

And before anyone else could react he somersaulted up into the air again and landed behind Luigi. To everyone's horror, he yanked Luigi's head back, one hand pressed into the green plumber's throat.

Mario's heart stopped.

"Please", his voice trembled. "I beg of you please, don't hurt Luigi!"

He hated having to act like this. He hated having to beg to that jester who he more than anything wanted to do worst things to. But he'd made a grave mistake. He had aggravated Dimentio even more, and there was no telling what he was going to do now. He had to hold it back. For the sake of his brother.

But Dimentio only grinned.

"That's how we're going to play, Man in Red? So be it."

He moved the hand that was holding Luigi's throat away, and snapped his fingers.

All at once, Luigi let out a guttural scream, as the floral sprout glowed red and sprouted even more vines around him, wrapping him tighter and tighter. Very soon he slumped forward. His eyes didn't even hold any emotion, for they were now fully glazed over with no recognition at all.

"Luigi!", Mario cried. His heart pounded as he didn't breathe, didn't think, only able to watch as his brother was taken somewhere he couldn't follow.

"Time", said Dimentio giving a gracious bow in front of his creation. "For the Ultimate Showdown!"

In all seriousness, wanting Dimentio in the movie verse is an idea I've had for a while, and I even drew up some ideas of what he might look like. I don't know if or when I will ever post them (for they are unfinished), and for a while I just let it go as I got caught up in other things, and drawing anything SPM was becoming taxing. But then I saw this prompt show up in my inbox and I thought "Oh yeah, I know exactly what to do for this one!"

I understand that in terms of the actual movie verse, they can't go too dark in terms of the character himself, but just picturing Dimentio acting as such a flamboyant and psychotic clown (where have I seen that before?) at the very end is something I really would love to see, no joke! I think it would be pretty fun. There's nothing wrong with this new verse playing around with characters a little.

Anyway, hope you all like. I understand if this is not what the anon was expecting...but I hope they also enjoy it too.

What's the storyline for your ocs?

nerdy straight A middle school student katherine quin and her pals realize that their government sucks ass and b/c they are impassioned naive youth, entangle themselves in a state of affairs that will stay w/them for the rest of their lives

more under the cut b/c i wrote a lot more than i thought i would kasfjksdfjksfj (i have big feelings abt this story)

i (officially) made the story when i was 14! all the characters are based off me and my experience 2 some extent (especially katherine i mean i made her bi, biracial, gave her a mole, made her like indie games etc). originally the story was going 2 have a happy ending, but as ive grown i have more of an appreciation for....well endings that are not so happy. im thinking i change it. it would make sense w/what happens in it anyway (the story of revolution is not as happy and triumphant as 11 year old me imagined when i first acted this out w/my brother. honestly like ive changed the story entirely 2 be my own but i still gotta thank my bro cuz the orig storyline that inspired it when we played legos 2gether was a conjoined effort and i borrowed many of the characters)! as im drafting it now, the story is not particularly happy lol

the story tells a sort of generational loop that katherine goes thru? if that makes sense? i wont go too much in depth b/c spoilers but its a story of history repeating itself again and again and the endless loops pain and suffering cause and how people are scared/too comfortable/too angry to change the cycle. i think that katherine being a history nerd in the midst of watching history unfold again before her very eyes grants her a certain point of view other characters dont have (except a few who have lived experiences). although this awareness will come later in the story when she's older

it will also touch on something young folks feel 2day where ppl frequently ask, "why is this happening today? havent we progressed?" and katherine will ponder that herself (although the situations that happen in the story are strictly to the story ajsfsjfd i cant talk abt and link real life tragedies it would be too much for me). and i think that as she gets older in the story and gains knowledge and wisdom from what she goes thru, she'll hafta bear this horrifying knowledge that the sands of time dont just erode the past, but the present and future as well.

anyway! i care this story a lot. its like my childhood and has grown with me as ive aged. im really compelled to make it the best it can be and i get a lot of imposter syndrome b/c i know the ideas i have and the story itself as a whole is good, but im worried my execution will fall flat. idk its kept me from moving forward w/it or talking abt it for years.

i love my major i love geology/geologineering and paleontology but i hate how… loosey goosey this field is about precision… like obviously they are good diligent scientists but most applications of this study are so large scale that like, decimal points either arent going to make a difference or you literally *cant* in good conscience claim a result to that precision. and when i was mapping in wyoming last summer so much of my job was “just write down what you think is true to your best logical conclusion and if someone disagrees they can go climb the mountain themselves”

#granted i WAS just an undergrad field worker for a grad student’s project there #so i literally was just the ‘hike out there and take some measurements and tell me what you think’ guy & he had to make Actual conclusions #and of course more advanced levels or fields are going to need greater precision for some things #but also my *ENGINEERING GEOLOGY* professor last year was like yeah we just round stuff off bc we arent interested in super precise math #bro this is building dams. we are literally studying a different dam failure every week #and ur telling me to just go fuck the sig figs??#(again like it makes sense theres so much chaos theory in modeling groundwater e.g. thats its impossible to be that specific)#its just crazy cus im watching a physicist youtuber and shes talking about atomic clocks being used to measure voltage and im here like #god thats so nice. i wish i could be so exact in my field… theres less pressure but also its harder for me to be confident in my answers #youtuber is acollierastro btw i lov her #birdsong

I think permanent corrective actions and root cause analysis exist solely to cause people with OCD and anxiety disorders to ruin their brains.

#totes bro #every time i make a mistake i make 3 mistakes #1 i mixed up letters in a word and pulled the wrong thing #2 i know i mix up numbers and letters so i should have had a system in place to prevent this #3 whatever system i come up with is guaranteed to not be permanent so if anything similar happens its also my fault #and then it's 'if you keep asking why what is the cause of the problem'#and the answer cant be human error or lack of funds so its some system i didnt design always #and this is sthe same thing if someone else makes a mistake because i didn't design a process that would have prevented that #and once again whatever i do change is guaranteed to fail in the future and then it's nicole didnt you try to fix this already #but often its like some tangential problem like i pulled the wrong qty of the right item #i tell my therapists this and they ask is there an answer where i am not to blame in this entire company and the answer is no #♥️#because I design the processes and if people dont follow the processes its because i designed them wrong #anyway! having really bad anxiety hours #I've tried to bring this up and I get told 'well design a better process where this isnt the problem ' and that.... misses the point #Because now the problem is i feel anxious because i failed to make processes that are infallible (which is the expectation) and so i need t #make a process to handle my anxiety which is guaranteed to fail #and is also my fault that i feel the anxiety because why didn't i correct for this sooner when i started my anxiety #they say these things like 'look on the bright side you can improve' and really i cant because even if i do i wont fully improve #which you know makes the permanent corrective action not permanent #and they say you know permanent doesnt mean definitely permanent but then any time theres a problem theyre like 'why wasnt it permanently..#and i try to say you told me last time permanent doesnt mean permanent and its no. bad. youre just trying to stop short of a well polished #process. look at 5s #and it starts over and over and over #i try to say the way we do this doesnt work for me because everything is my fault even if its someone elses error #and because it causes me anxiety because I know no process is perfect but it was supposed to be permanent #but hr my bosses everyone just do not empathize with me at all and cant figure out why im anxious and how this makes it worse #because there's room for improvement!#also if its not clear many of the mistakes are because im dyslexic

As much as I enjoy the hurt/comfort with the Mario Bros, a part of me wishes we could get some more lighthearted fare with them in fanworks. Like, give me the Bros bonding over exploring the MK and enjoying all the nature there. Maybe have them goofing off and sparing with each other using power ups, poking fun whenever one of them gets a sillier one. I just want more cute and fun scenarios is all.

As much as I also agree that those types of fics would be great to see more of, in the end, I think it all comes down to what influences the imagination the most.

The Bros have a wholesome relationship, would die for each other, and go through so much for each other in the movie; things that give fans plenty to explore in "what if" scenarios.

I've seen plenty of this in Ash and Pikachu fanfics - back when I first explored the web as a young'un 😌

We know that things end happily in the movie, and the Bros are happy in the Mushroom Kingdom - so it's easy to assume that they did visit those places together. There's not much else to explore there...

dw about it i just have a lot of evil bird dreams. last night i had one where there was a giant raven in my backyard and i punched it in the face and ripped its neck open but that summoned a bunch more that attacked me. i always wanted to start the second chapter of this fic by giving sasha fucked up bird dreams but this one was helpful. or maybe not bc its so different from my normal ones
