Hope’s Favorite Studying Apps

Here is a list of my favorite and only studying/resource apps 

FocusTimer: 5/5 stars // $2.99 

Description: the app allows the user to divide their time spent “focusing” into different sections of the user’s choosing such as studying, exercising, reading, etc. The app will begin registering the time spent focusing when the user’s device is placed facedown. The reason why I love this app so much is because it allows the user to have multiple tries to resume “focus”. It’s extremely encouraging. 

Forest: 3/5 stars // $1.99

Description: Forest prevents the user from leaving the app by using a virtual growing tree as the incentive to stay on the app. If the user leaves the app, the tree dies. The growing time of the tree can be set by a timer that begins with a 10 minute minimum and goes up to two hours. The length of the growing time will decide how many coins the user will earn for that session. The coins earned can be used towards buying more virtual trees, or a live tree that will be planted by an organization in Africa or India. The only thing I dislike about the app is that it can be discouraging when the user leaves the app and a dead tree appears in the user’s “forest”. It’s almost like the app is measuring the user’s failure to stay focused. 

Flat Tomato: 4.5/5 stars // Free

Description: Flat Tomato uses the Pomodoro Method to help the user develop better time management skills. Like FocusTimer, it has the option to create multiple sections the user can choose from when focusing/studying for a specific activity. The reason I didn’t give it 5/5 stars was because it doesn’t have as many options as some of the other apps. 

Reminders: 4/5 stars // Preinstalled on Apple products 

Description: Great. Way. To. Not. Forget. Things. This is app is extremely simple, but it becomes helpful when you need an extra reminder for a due date or activity. 

Notability: 5/5 stars //  $5.99 

Description: I haven’t had the chance to use this app yet, but after exploring all of its possibilities it is clear to me that this app is worth the money. It has multiple settings for the user to change the type of paper, font, drawing tool, etc. There’s also the option to add photos or voice memos! I strongly recommend this app if you are opposed to taking old-fashioned pen and loose leaf notes. 

NEW STUDYBLR

Hello everyone! You can call me Ana, I’m a biotechnology student and I’m 20 years old.

I’m starting my 5th semester this monday (01/11) and I wanted to start it with inspiration from tumblr and as I am so passionate about taking notes and making them pretty I figurate I should make a studyblr to get more inspired and to inspire people.

I’m really new at this thing so just bare with my ugly looking blog until I figure this out please and I might change my url later but that’s the one I could come up with that was avaible.
