A decent human

I had hoped to say goodbye to friends in a final class today at uni, but the class wasn’t on, and instead I wasted my time this morning on social media. Time that easily would have been better spent with God. I even have a wonderful shared study on ‘youversion bible app’ where women from my church keep each other accountable and collaborate our understanding of the scripture passages.

However i still attended my university bible study and two verses stood out to me, and i might have made a pretty visual for this post because I am obsessed with these #bibleblrs, but I wasted time playing the sims 2 and completing my unenrollment  😅

Matthew 6:33 calls us to seek first a kingdom of God

Matthew 22:37-39 calls us to love our God and our Neighbour

Both of these are things I’m striving to do, especially when our bible study leader had us assess what our ideal is, compared to our hope. My ideal is home and children, my hope is that I might still be following Jesus.

I take a small comfort in the knowledge that marriage doesn’t exist in heaven (Mark 12:18-27), and that doesn’t change my desire to be loved in this way, but I hope that as I progress in my faith, that I will continue to strive to fix my eyes on Jesus and run the race he laid out for me (Hebrews 12:1)

It’s been a long while, but I’m back! I started this blog when I was in high school and now I’m almost done with my second year of pharmacy school. Time flies! 

It wasn’t an easy journey. I’ve collected a couple C’s (plural) along the way and had my fair share of quarter life crises and breakdowns. But at the end of the day I’m grateful for those tough moments because they’ve shown me that it’s more important to focus on learning and growth, and naturally the results will follow.

If you’re feeling discouraged about your grades or progress, I’m here to remind you that you can achieve those goals! All it takes is consistent effort each day. Studying can be very isolating these days, so if you need accountability or a study buddy, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here for you.

On that note, I’ll be focusing my blog more on building the community and interacting with you, rather than trying to take the most aesthetic photos (although that would be nice too). Just a heads up :-) 

Some things that I’ve been studying lately: pharmacy (right now I’m on my CNS module), the Bible, languages (particularly Chinese and Spanish).

Everything is going a little too well right now and I am concerned. Like when is the breaking point?

God waits for you every single second of your life, yet, you spend every moment looking for comfort in this weary world. You will never find such one that God has to offer. Not even one that can come near.

and don't you ever spend the day, the week, the month, the year, the life of yours, trying to reason with that.

For God has known you even before you were conceived in your mother's womb. He has formed the very threads of you, He knows you every thought. But still, He loves you regardless of all your imperfections. No single person can love you the way God does.

The only way you can find and give love in this planet is to surrender love to God first. God first, before the world. That is our priority for the rest of our lives.

Please pray for my mom. She's in hospice for terminal cancer and she's lost her faculties to the extreme and we can't get her into a home until Monday. Please pray for her rest and comfort. My brother and I are not doing well...

He was in such agony and he prayed so fervently that his sweat became like drops of blood falling on the ground.

Jesus' example of prayer is fascinating. He knew that God has already planned out all the things that will happen, but Jesus still prayed for God to take the agony from him. He told God "Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Still, not my will but yours be done." He asked God to reconsider, but he knew God is the sovereign God. He knew the things of the past, the present and the future. Jesus surrendered so willingly to the Lord and his plan. He did not ask to be saved if it's nof the will of the Lord. He poured this all in prayer, talking to the Lord so fervently in a manner which is downright astouding.

If we are facing so many trials and challenges in our life, we must stop and think and remodel our ways to what our Lord Jesus Christ has done before us. He prayed for God to take the iniquity set before him BUT not if it's not what the Lord says should be done. Behold, be fearless and live the life God has planned for you to live! Never bw afraid, for the Lord your God is with you, wherever you go (Joshua 1:9) And so, stand up, never be afraid to be trampled down by your present cricumstances, for God is stronger than all of your enemies. You may not attain the material victory that your heart desires in this world, and you may be separated from it, but seek God, and you will be victorious with Him in heaven.

Pray. You will never go wrong.
