Station 19 7x09

Now that was one hell of an episode! Forgive me, this might get long.

Carina DeLuca, I was a little mad that you tried to ruin another sexy moment with baby talk but then you did that little lick before you kissed Maya's abs, so all is forgiven. 🔥 Also Carina describing Maya as her "hot, hot, hot wife" when the episode gave us that ending felt intentional and mean.

The mutual "I love you", the nose rub, the kiss... I love these sweet moments between them. And then there was the "I'll see you at home", which said just as much, like they were willing it to be true because they both know that the wildfires are going to be a hard fight. Especially after Carina had just been treating a patient whose husband was lost in the woods.

"What if this is it? What if I never see him again?" ... we all know where Carina's mind went at that moment.

"I'm sure he's doing whatever he can to find his way back to you" ... oh, I hope she hangs on to these words when she finds out about Maya. (Assuming she does...? It seems to me like they need to get Maya out of that fire pretty damn quick, before Carina even has chance to find out.)

"Monogamy is for the weak" ... "Or the very very dedicated, that's what I said - and that's who I am now" ... THANK YOU for remembering the whole line. It drives me crazy when people only quote the first part, when the second part of it says a whole lot more about who Maya was then and who she is now. That said, I have mixed feelings about the idea of her offering to get pregnant if Carina can't - because the whole point of pushing the IVF at the same time as adopting Liam is because it's Carina's dream to carry a child and experience childbirth. Still, it says a lot about how much she's changed that she's even willing to think about doing it.

THE ENDING. I expect it's been said enough already but HOLY SH*T. What a way to end the episode, to set up Carina for joy and heartbreak at the same time. Stefania's acting was on point in that moment, the little "no" of disbelief when Helm told her she was pregnant and her "why, do you think it's Maya's?" joke. Contrasted against Maya's absolute panic as the flames surrounded her (even if the special effects of the fire were a little distracting). I don't actually believe it will end in heartbreak, I very much believe that Maya and Carina will get their happy ever after with lots of babies. If anything, I suspect we may see Maya question her job with the fire service again as it feels like it's been leading to that - and I'm still not keen on that idea, but (as someone else pointed out to me) if that's her decision, at least she makes it on her own terms.

Although, at this rate, Andy is going to be left with a team at 19 made up of her ex-husband and Beckett. 👀

I loved all the Maya and Andy scenes we got, I'm glad their friendship has been more prominent this season. I love hearing them both say how proud they are of each other.

Maya Kathleen? Didn't they mean Maya Katherine, after her mom?

All the throwbacks to previous episodes and scenes were great and I hope that continues into the next episode. Dibs on the puppy. Hughie. The five OGs on top of the fire truck was such a wonderful scene, watching them all get into the same position as the last time we saw them there. It made me sad that Dean and Jack weren't there.

"We're 19 - family forever" ... ❤️❤️

I hope Theo getting hurt doesn't interfere with Vic's plans to move to DC with Crisis One. It's where she belongs. I love the idea of Travis going with her, although he has good chemistry with the new guy whose name I don't remember.

This was an A+ episode for me and I really really hope next week's finale lives up to the same hype.

Looking around the downstairs of the firehouse, Y/N has an impressed look on her face as she nods. “Your girlfriend is the captain of this place?” She peeks into the barn where the firetrucks are located, letting out a small ooh sound.

“Yes.” Carina laughs, her brows raised as she stares at her younger sister. “You like it?”

“Yeah, it’s cool.” She shrugs, trying to seem nonchalant, but Carina knows her sister.

Grabbing her arm, Carina starts leading her upstairs. “Let’s go, they’re cooking dinner and we’re joining them.”

Y/N gasps. “Is this one of those situations where your girlfriend tries to make a good impression on me, because you won’t date someone who doesn’t get along with me?” The words come out quickly, at times stumbling over them.

“No.”

“It totally is.”

With a sigh, Carina rolls her eyes. It is that kind of situation. She just doesn’t want to feed Y/N’s ego by letting her know how valuable her opinion is to her. But she knows.

When they walk into the kitchen, Y/N notices Carina’s girlfriend stiffing a pot, having seen a picture of her, but she isn’t the one who takes her attention. A brunette setting the table is. It’s like she can’t take her eyes off of her.

“Carina!” Maya exclaims when she notices them. “You’re here early.” She turns off the stove and walks over to the two, wiping her palms to her pants first.

“Our shift ended early.” Carina kisses her before pulling her near Y/N. “This is Y/N, my sister. This is Maya, my girlfriend.”

“Hi!” Smiling, Y/N shakes Maya’s hand. “Nice to finally meet the famous Captain Maya Bishop. Carina talks about you all the time. Maya is so hot. Maya is so muscular. Look at this picture of h-”

“Y/N!” Carina slaps the back of her head. Giggling, she steps away from Carina’s reach, rubbing the spot she got slapped on. “Behave.”

She rolls her eyes. Maya looks between the two, not sure how she should react to the two sisters. “Uh, it’s great to meet you too.” She points behind her, where the rest of the team is, introducing everyone to Y/N. They all wave and smile, saying their his, but Andy walks up to them.

“Hi!” She shakes Y/N’s hand. “You’re doctor too?” Andy looks at the white doctor’s coat she is wearing.

“Yes, I didn’t want to be the family disappointment by not becoming a doctor.” Carina glares at her, but Y/N ignores her. “I’m in general.”

“Awesome.”

The two stand a little bit too close to each other for someone who just met each other, but the others pay no mind to it. They just finish cooking the food and gather around the table, immeasurable bombarding Y/N with questions.

She answers to them to the best of her ability, though most of her attention is on Andy.

Humming quietly to herself, Y/N looks through the patient files on the tablet. She keeps glancing at her phone, frowning when there’s no new notifications. Her and Andy have been texting nonstop ever since they met, but now, Andy hasn’t answered to her in hours. Usually it doesn’t take her that long even if she’s working.

With a sigh, Y/N pockets her phone and sets the tablet down to a table. She has a surgery in half an hour, but until then there’s really nothing to do.

“Y/N!”

She turns towards the sound, her brows furrowing once she notices Andy walking towards her. “What are you doing here?” She meets her halfway. “Did something happen?”

“There was an accident during a call, but I-“

“Are you okay?” Y/N’s eyes start going up and down Andy’s body, looking for any significant injuries. She has a bandaid near her eye, but nothing else catches her attention.

“I’m okay. I wanted to see y-“

Y/N interrupts her once again, “are you sure? Did you already see someone? I can page someone over.” She takes out her pager, but Andy grabs her hands.

“Y/N, I’m okay. I wanted to see you, because I need to tell you something.” Nodding, Y/N stays quiet, giving her the space to talk. “I have feelings for you,” she starts, her voice quieter now, “and I would really like to take you out on a date.”

A big smile appears on Y/N’s face. “That’d be nice.”

“Okay, great.” Andy nods, smiling too. They look like two lovesick fools in the middle of the hospital hallway. “I’ll pick you up today at eight?” She raises one of her brows. “Wear something casual.”

“Got it.” Grabbing the tablet again, Y/N starts backing up slowly. “I have a surgery to go to, but I’ll see you today.”

Andy waves with a grin before walking away, feeling victorious.

Knocking on the door frame, Y/N walks into the locker room. “Hi, mi cara.” She smiles when Andy turns around.

“Hey,” she walks over to her and grabs her hand, pulling her deeper into the room to kiss her, “I am so happy to see you here.” Andy grins, moving them towards the rest room.

Y/N giggles. “I’m happy to be here,” she kicks the door closed once they’re inside the room, “the others have already gone home?”

“Yeah,” she kisses her, “we have all the time we need.” Pulling away momentarily, Andy pulls the doctor’s coat off of Y/N. “You look incredibly hot in your scrubs.” She eyes her body up and down.

“Even when I’m all hot and sweaty?”

“Even then.”

Rolling her eyes, Y/N pushes Andy to sit down on the bed before getting on top of her, draping her arms over her shoulders. “You look very hot in your work clothes too.” She mumbles, going back to kissing her.

Andy grabs the sides of her waist so she wouldn’t fall. Y/N’s hands are about to go down to the hem of Andy’s shirt, but the sound of the door opening interrupts them.

“Y/N?”

Their heads snap towards the now open door, where Maya and Carina are standing, both shocked to see them together.

“Carina!” Y/N struggles to get up from Andy’s lap. “What- what are you doing here?” Andy stands up as well, her eyes wide. Truth to be told, she’s kind of scared of the Italian, especially now that she walked in on them making out.

“What am I doing here? What are you doing?” Her hands start moving in the air. “Since when have you two been together?”

They glance at each other. “Like, six months.”

“Wh-“ Carina groans, throwing her hands in the air while mumbling in Italian, which makes Y/N scrunch up her face. “Six months and you didn’t think to tell me?”

Y/N shrugs, “sorry, there was never really a right time, so, you know,” she glances at Andy, trying to come up with some kind of explanation, “it just never came up.”

Carina has her arms crossed over her chest and her face is in a deadpan look. Maya has a tightlipped smile on her face, “well, I’m happy for you two.” She turns to look at Carina, her brows raised.

With a sigh, Carina walks over to hug Y/N and Andy. “I’m happy too, but you are supposed to tell me things.” She points at Y/N once she has backed away from them, giving Maya room to hug them both.

“I’m not ten anymore.” Y/N smiles, holding Andy’s hand.

“You’re still younger.”

She sighs, but nods, there’s no use to fighting Carina. “We were about to go out to eat, do you want to join us? Or did we interrupt something?” Maya smirks, looking at the jacket still laying on the ground.

“Maya!” Carina looks at her with wide eyes. “That’s my sister.”

“Oh, shut up, you had a study on orgasms.” Y/N picks up her jacket and puts it on. “We’ll join you, but I think we have to change first.” She looks at Maya and Carina’s nice, fancy clothes before turning to her and Andy’s work clothes that they’re still wearing.

“We’ll wait for you in the car,” Maya states while they step out of the room, “don’t take too long!” The door closes.

Andy turns to Y/N. “That’s one way for them to find out.” Laughing, she grabs Y/N’s hips. “I’m guessing you’re borrowing some of my clothes?” She mumbles and smiles when Y/N nods. “I love to see you in my clothes.”

“Don’t start anything now.” Y/N raises her brows, pulling away from Andy to go to her locker and grab some of her extra clothes from there.

“After dinner?”

“Definitely.” She kisses Andy and winks at her, before going to the bathroom to change her clothes, leaving Andy to the locker room with a grin.

AN: Happy Mother’s Day guys! Here’s the last chapter of this Mother’s Day story that will focus on our favorite Station 19 couple Maya Bishop and Carina DeLuca as mothers to Liam.

Summary: Maya and Carina have a party at the station with the others where they sign the adoption papers making them Liam’s official parents.

“Did you get the cake?” Carina asks Maya in excitement while feeding Liam in a highchair. Liam smiles widely at Carina feeding him another spoonful of banana baby puree from a jar. Maya enters the beanery smiling and carrying a large white box with a manila folder on top.

“Yes, I did, and I think your gonna like the design I picked out for this very special day.” Maya sets the box on the table and Carina wipes Liam’s mouth before picking him up so they can go to Maya.

“Did you bring the-”

Maya answers her question before she can finish by picking up the manila folder that contains the adoption papers for them to sign and take to the courthouse tomorrow, “My love do you really still doubt me after all these years?”

Carina grins at Maya’s smugness, “It’s a big day today and we can’t afford any missteps.” Carina turns to Liam and speaks in a baby voice, “But lucky for us your mama is organized and never forgets her keys let alone a paper making us your legal mommy’s. And don’t worry if you feel lonely because we’re gonna give you a little brother or sister to play with soon. You just have to be patient.”

When Maya and Carina heard the good news from the fertility doctor that Maya’s eggs were successfully fertilized with the sperm, they selected from the donor catalog they decided to freeze them. They wanted to wait until after they adopted Liam to give him a sibling because they wanted to focus fully on him and making him a part of their family.

Maya smiles at that thought, “Now Liam being a big brother is really important. Your gonna protect your sibling and teach them things we can’t.”

“That’s right.” Carina lightly bounces Liam in her arms, “If it wasn’t for me your Zio Andrea wouldn’t know his head from his butt.”

“Hey, come on I think I could’ve survived being an only child.” Andrew walks into the beanery carrying a large blue gift-wrapped box with his wife Amber DeLuca nee Karev walking beside him carrying their 1-year-old daughter Lucy in her arms. The women can see that despite Amber looking elegant in a gothic sense with her black turtleneck hugging her torso and black pleated pants she looks tired and disheveled.

Amber exhales as if she was running a marathon, “We’re not too late, are we?”

“Nope your right on time.” Andy Herrera tells her as she enters the beanery with Vic, Ben and Bailey, “We’re just waiting for Montgomery and Gibson to show up.”

Andrew exhales in relief, “Thank God, we would have come sooner but the struggle was real getting Lucy out of the house.”

Carina chuckles and leans face to face with Lucy who looks adorable in her denim overall dress with her short wavy brown hair up in pigtails, “Don’t worry Lucy, I forgive you because you are the most adorable nipote in the world!” Lucy giggles at Carina’s exasperated voice.

Amber smiles at her sister-in-law, “Well your adorable nipote has been very active lately.”

“And very stubborn about what she wants.” Andrew chips in and whispers to Maya next to him, “I ‘terribili due’ non sono uno scherzo.” (Translation: The terrible twos are no joke.) Amber puts Lucy down to her feet and she immediately runs to Maya hugging her legs causing Carina and the others to aww at the adorable sight.

Maya chuckles and picks up Lucy in her arms who stares up at her with huge blue eyes, “Come on she’s not even two yet.”

“Oh, try telling her that.” Amber tells her as she sets up the table while Andrew walks over to Carina smiling at his nephew who grins at him.

Andrew chuckles at Liam’s squishy face feeling nostalgic, “Yep enjoy this age while you can sis because pretty soon, he’s gonna start scribbling on the walls, scaring you half to death when he tries to climb the stairs by himself and pulling your hair when you end bathtime.” Carina chuckles at Andrew’s misery, “Seriously you guys enjoy this age of innocence it goes by so fast.”

“How strong is the coffee here?” Amber asks Andy.

“We have military issue if you can handle it.”

“I’ll take a cup.” Amber moves to the coffeemaker.

“Make it two.” Amber nods at Andrew’s request. Gibson and Montgomery enter the room carrying balloons and greeting everyone with smiles.

“Hey, we’re not too late, are we?”

“Nope we wouldn’t sign these papers without everyone present.” Maya tells Jack.

Soon Beckett, Theo, and Sullivan come on and they gather around the counter where the manila folder is. Carina turns to Andrew and he gladly holds Liam for her with Amber next to him carrying Lucy. Maya takes a deep breath before opening the folder, taking the paper out and grabbing the pen from her shirt pocket clicking it.

“Here we go.” Maya looks at Carina who smiles in joy while Vic is on the other side of the counter filming this moment on her phone with a smile. Maya signs her cursive on one of the two dotted lines on the bottom. She holds the pen out to Carina with a smile, “We’re halfway there.”

Carina smiles taking the pen, “Let me finish it then.” Carina leans down the counter and signs her own name below Maya’s. As soon as she finishes everyone around them cheers. Maya laughs and brings out the cake revealing the design. It’s a white rectangular sheet cake with a blue wave like ocean at the bottom with Goldfish crackers swimming in it and a reel with a line in the frosty sea. Across the white sheet written in blue frosting on top is ‘O-fish-aly Ours!’ Liam DeLuca-Bishop 05-12-24’

The group chuckles and awes at the cake with Carina joking, “Bambina you have now reached cheesy parent status.”

“Well, it’s all for my son.” Maya takes Liam from Andrew’s arms and smiles at him, “Did you hear that little dude? I’m officially your mama!” Liam smiles wide as Carina wraps her arms around Maya’s torso pulling both of them against her.

“That’s right bambino, we’re your mama’s in heart and paper now.” They coo at the baby while Andy gets two blue baby bottles that are filled with white wine instead of milk. She gives them to the legal mommy’s with a smile.

“Courtesy of Tia Andy so you guys can toast properly to getting through the first year with him.”

Maya chuckles at the bottles, “Thank you.” Carina holds up her bottle to toast and Maya does the same, “Cheers to…not dropping him on his head.”

“Or swallowing a safety pin. Cheers and a happy Mother’s Day, mommy!”

Maya smiles at the coincidence of both the adoption date and Mother’s Day set at the same time as if fate knew they were meant to be mother’s all along, “Happy Mother’s Day, mama.” They clink their bottles and celebrate their first day as official parents to their beloved and beautiful son.

Carina and Mayas girlfriend (love triangle) works at the vet clinic. Today she has a significant bad day because one of her patients died and she couldn't save them and it shows in her messages to Maya and Carina so the firefighter and/or Carina show up at work and tries to cheer her up with lots of kisses and affection?

Authors note: This story is a bit shorter than others because I didn't have much time to write over the weekend. Have pity on me ❤

Summary:After a devastating loss for you, both Carina and Maya help you with some cuddles and affection.

Excited, the two woman walked up the ramp to the veterinary office where you worked to pay you a little visit with your favorite food in the luggage. They knew you did not like unannounced visits; you usually had a lot of patients of all sizes coming in either for regular treatment or emergencies that left you with no time in between to chat with your girlfriends.

However, according to your brief and unemotional messages to them, they had every reason to worry and so they teamed up during their lunch breaks to make their way over to check on you; to see how you were. "Excuse us, where can we find Doctor L/n?"

The lady at the reception had the landline phone stretched to her ear while she was typing on her computer; totally stressed out. Her gaze shifted to the two ladies in front of her for just a brief second, smiling when she saw the faces of her boss wives and she whispered a quick -One moment please- before turning back to the screen and reading aloud to the person on the phone.

Carina nodded and stepped back to protect the patients privacy. With a quick pull on one of Maya´s arm, she brought her behind the line of discretion. While they waited, the blonde nervously wiggled her leg and bit her lip; she just wanted to rush into your office and take you into her embrace- something bad must have happened to make you behave so cold towards them.

"Doctor DeLuca?" requested the receptionist after a short wait and the addressed turned around. She crossed the last few meters between her and the counter, leaning her elbows on the glass to listen to the other woman talking. "She is in her office but does not want to be disturbed right now. I am sorry."

Now Maya had also approached and put her hands on her hips. Her gaze was questioning and urgent; her eyebrows raised sharply, so that small wrinkles formed on her forehead. "With all respect, we know that you have your orders but she is our wife and we are worried so we are going in now and you will not stop us!"

She pushed past Carina, who previously bit her lip and then started moving backwards as she followed the blonde into your office. When they got there, both of the knocked wildly on your door with their open hand, but when you did not answer, the firefighter opened the door and was startled at the sight of you.

You sat on the sofa with your green scrubs on, your legs bent against your chest and your head tucked into your arms. A soft sob escaped your throat and your body trembled with every breath you took- you were so lost in your own grief that you did not even noticed the knocks and the footsteps approaching your form.

As the couch deepened next to you, strong arms wrapped around your midsection and a chin rested on your upper arm while someone knelt in front of you with a loud crack of their kneecap, trying to clear a path to your face. Two cold fingers gently and deliberately pulled your chin up and revealed your tearful face. "Baby, what happened?"

"Duke died," you choked out dejected and both woman immediately knew, who you were talking about. A German shepherd that you have had in your care since he was 12 weeks old.

After 10 years of living his best life, you diagnosed him with osteosarcoma a year ago, which was treated with multi-modal therapy consisting of surgery, chemo- and pain therapies which extended survival time and improved quality of life, but was not curable.

You tried to make the last few months as comfortable as possible for him, giving him the best therapy you could possibly offer but he lost the fight much faster than you thought and you had to relieve him from his agony this morning.

Through the years of bonding with each other, his death took you extremely hard and you suffered. "Bella, mi dispiace tanto. (Beautiful, I am so sorry)" Carina spoke in a hushed tone and snuggled closer to your lower legs as her head rested on your lap. Gentle kisses were placed on your bare skin. Her fingertips gently stroking your thighs. "It´s not your fault. Sometimes things like this happen in life and there´s nothing you can do about it."

Tears were still streaming freely down your face and you looked at the brunette in front of you. You knew she was right, there was nothing more you could have done. But you expected more time. A reasonable goodbye. By the time the family arrived with him, he was already too far gone to give you one last look or run his tongue over your face one last time.

Maya had meanwhile also pulled her legs up and sat cross-legged next to you to place you on her lap with a strong but loving jerk before starting to rock you in her tight hug. Your head disappeared into her shoulder and your arms wrapped around her, holding her as if she were about to slip out of your grasp should you stop digging your fingernails into her blouse.

"You know, angel.." Maya started to speak and started to place little kisses on the skin of your neck while taking a break from her sentence. "Even if it hurts you incredibly now, you have to see the positive side; you took Duke out of his pain and gave him a better after-life. Up there.." she stretched her hand up and pointed her finger to the sky, waiting for your gaze to follow up with her, "..he can play with other dogs and finally romp around without pain."

The doctor meanwhile got up from her uncomfortable seat on the floor and placed herself on the free side next to Maya. She brushed a strand of hair out of your face and let it disappear behind your ear before wrapping her arms around you and placing soft kisses on the side of the face, that was still visible. "Don´t cry, bella. Where he is now is the most beautiful place for him."

Can Theo go? How more toxic can he be? Writers really said, "Oh you hate Sullivan? Let me show you someone worse". What an asshole. Making out with Kate just because Vic was proud of Andy. Who, mind you, is one of her closest friends and has been fighting for that position for a long time.

Captain Herrera, fucking finally. I hope that storyline ends there. We don't care about that anymore. She is going to be a great captain. Let her be captain until season 11, at least.

I wish we had seen a conversation between Maya and Andy about the captaincy.

Jack lost consciousness, so he couldn't tell Vic what he saw. If they kill Jack, I'm suing. He is just a dumb guy, and he doesn't deserve that. I hated him when he was part of Maya and Carina, but he is getting his life together.

Travis has been a shitty friend to Vic, btw. Vic told him what happened with Theo and Travis just saying "Sometimes that happens".

I love we got to see more of Vic and Andy together.

As much as I loved those scenes with Maya and Carina in their apartment. I wished they were on the opening scene. That looked like fun. Maya and Carina are always out of the group.

Are Maya and Carina going to adopt that baby? I know Carina wants to give birth, but they just brought that pregnant lady for Carina to do something? Or is Jack adopting the baby?

What the hell is this? I want a written essay about why Carina flinches like that. Couldn't this scene be like 5 seconds longer?

I'm so annoyed that Carina had to wear her wedding outfit to the ball. You are telling me she didn't have any other dress??? ANY OTHER DRESS??? Why? What was the point? Why do the writers hate Carina so much? She could have gone and bought anything. I'm sure she has gone to some events that required formal dress.

I can't even enjoy her scenes at the ball because of that damn outfit.

I'd never forget Danielle for giving Maya bangs. I know it's just hair, but Maya is not a bangs woman. She wears her hair slicked in a tall ponytail, controlled and put together. Bangs are carefree.

Danielle looks beautiful, but that's not Maya. She could have waited a week to get bangs. I'm in mourning.

It wasn't even mentioned. When she cut her hair short, it made sense. It was a beautiful moment, and she looked very hot. But those bangs just, I don't know. I'd never question Danielle's acting choice, but I feel that this episode was more Danielle than Maya.

This was a good episode. I hope they keep this energy for future epsidoes

I'd love to see them getting ready for the ball. Maya and Carina with the group. They teasing Maya and Carina for being late. CARINA WITH A NEW DRESS (This bothers me so fucking much)

For Maya to ask "how could you?" to Carina when she was the one who has hurt herwofe so many times. I feel like she is no difference than Vincenzo. How is she different?

It's interesting how Maya asked, "How could you?" instead of "How dare you?" which I think is something that both Vincenzo and Lane would say.

But why would she say that?

How could she say that when she was the one who has been screaming in Carina's face even when her wife was trying to help her?

The first thing that she said was actually,

"I just- I can't believe you would do this to me" that was the start of her disbelief. That was when her heart started breaking.

That was after Carina told her that if she didn't stop, she would be put in restraints. That was after Carina said, "please don't make this harder than it needs to be."

That was when she stopped trying to free herself from the tubes and wires. That was when she was stunned.

"Wow. Huh."

And then she told Carina what she expected of her - the love and support that she gave to Carina when Carina was grieving; when she could barely get off the kitchen floor.

Her company. The plate of sandwiches that she prepared. The crappy cup of espresso that she tried to make (and the first-degree burns that she had from trying). The space when everything was too soft. The place for Carina to dump her guilt, the blame, the part that stings the most - she would hold on to it so that Carina could get stronger and when she did, she could have it all back. The anger that she shared. The sirens and how her scream covered Carina's so that hers wouldn't sound so dark and twisted. The hug. The warm drink that she brought to their room and placed on Carina's side of the bed. The hug when she saw Carina snuggled on her side, sleeping. The safety. The love and support.

But when she was wounded, terrified, and suffocated - Carina said "you left me no choice" and would not hesitate to put her in restraints.

She pleaded to go home before. She told Carina, she could help her at home, failing to see that nobody could help her because she was unaware of how badly shattered her mind was.

Carina was grieving but Maya was ill. You can't treat illness with just space, care, love, and support. But Maya didn't know.

So, she cried and tried to tell Carina again, "This is not helping me. I just- I can't believe you would do this to me."

Because in her mind, Carina was trying to escape. Carina was trying to take the easy way out.

Carina was trying to force her into therapy instead of giving her love and support and space when she was pushing through the pain. For Maya, all she needed Carina - even when she woke up in an ER, surrounded by wires, with her shirt cut off, she asked, "Where's Carina?"

"I can't-" and she saw Carina slowly stepping away from her.

And when Carina cut her off with "Dr. Altman is going to take it from here-", she felt as if Carina had never listened to her and her pleas. It was as if Carina was waiting for this moment to hand her over to another party as if she was a broken person that Carina couldn't wait to get rid of.

She laughed a little at the irony.

She used to question herself a lot - if Carina should be with her. She knew that "Carina is perfect", that "Carina is light and lovely, and I'm not". She knew that her brain was faulty, that she was dark as hell, and that she tried so hard to be the perfect copy of Lane she might have become one. She used to be terrified that one day she would snap at Carina like Lane and that Carina would stop loving her.

After some time, she thought Carina wouldn't.

She thought Carina would never. She loves Carina and she chose her, forever. She wanted to build a family with her. To have a little Carina she could count her blessings on.

But now, she saw Carina walking away.

"Oh. The length that you go to have it your way" To force her to get the help she needed, the way she needed, on the timeline she set.

"If you walk-" her voice cracked at the verge of crying. She was ready to plead as she did on the rooftop when she asked Carina to have her back. She wanted to reach out as she did when she wanted to hug Carina when she couldn't sleep. She wanted Carina to turn around and convince her that she should sleep in bed at home, with her because that is always exactly what she needs.

But she knew that wouldn't happen.

Just like how Carina walked away on the rooftop. Just like how Carina got off the bed.

And she knew all of that was her fault.

She knew it when she threw the tray and broke the bowl. She knew it when she put on those running shoes and ran to the station. She knew it when she cried in the shower after she almost died in that cornfield.

But she wasn't sure if Carina would be so kind again to give her another chance. What if Carina have really stopped loving her? What if she finally exhausted Carina? Because when Carina repeatedly said "you need to get help", she never said "and I will be by your side", "I will wait for you" or "I need you to be okay".

What Maya heard was "I cannot have a family with that. With you, like that."

So she did what Lane would. She threatened Carina, "If you WALK out that door, we're done.

Do you hear me?

Hm?

Do you hear me?"

Because when Lane spat similar warnings to her, she remembered how she flinched and how scared she was that her every muscle would tense. But because she was scared of losing his love, she obeyed. She stayed. She pushed through.

Maybe Carina would too.

But Carina was no cowardly kid.

She is a woman in love. She was rational, calm, and collected. She knew what she was doing and it was what she thought would be the best for Maya.

"I lose you either way, bella.

I'd rather lose you and have you be alive."

The gasp when she said No. All her fears came true. Carina started to disappear from her view.

She called her name. She asked, how could you do this to me?

On the verge of a panic attack, she screamed out her name again.

Maybe that's the only way she could breathe - to gasp for air, just to call out her name again.

To ask her, How could you? To beg her, Get back here!

And the next morning, she lay in bed, lifeless without restraints.

Because there was no more home and all that she needed was gone.

TL;DR

She is not Vincenzo. She loves Carina and hates herself. Vincenzo loves himself and blames everyone else.

But it's good to remember that it's never someone else's responsibility to fix you and you couldn't treat an illness just by the power of love. Being loved and loving someone makes a day worth the struggle. But the fight is still yours to go through.

People have the right to leave if something hurts them or if it is too much for them to bear. So do you.

Hello lovely’s!🤍 This is my first EVER fanfic post. It has taken me a long time to work up the courage to post it. @oneshotnewbie gave me a lot of confidence after reading it. She has amazing stories and if someone that creative and passionate says she likes my lil one shot I have to post it! Hope the few of you who read it enjoy :) if this one does well I have a second one which is similar to this one!

You’re Maya’s little sister who’s a part of the swim team. Maya is starting to realise your father will never change. Little does Maya know, he’s gotten worse.

Your first swim practice of the season is finally here. All summer you’ve been training at the community pool with your dad. Although you’re tired from the pressure he put on you, You’re glad you are at a slight advantage. Today a little bit of weight was lifted because your dad wasn’t there.

“Okay, Ladies that wraps practice. Please take these forms on your way out. We have a swim meet 2 weeks from now, Seattle Cancer Swim. It’s not only to raise money for cancer, it also earns you a spot on the varsity swim team. Oh, Y/N your dad is here”

Every time your dad comes to the pool you knew that it meant extended practice. Depending on your performance the practice could be an extra hour or several hours. You went to the changing room to get a drink of water. You hear your phone buzzing. It’s your sister. “Hey Gup, why is Dad’s car here are you not coming to our place for the weekend?” You always go to Carina and Maya’s for the weekend. It’s a safe space.

“Extended practice.” Maya knows too well about extended practices. You weren’t on the phone long because your dad hates to be kept waiting.

It has been 2 extra hours and you are starting to get so tired you can’t keep up. You start to get out of the pool with the smallest amount of energy you have. “Excuse me little girl, where do you think you’re going?” without turning to look at him you firmly stated you were going to the changing room. Before you knew it you were getting yanked back into the pool. The water hits you like lightning. When you came to the surface, struggling to stay afloat you made your way to the edge and help on. you hear fighting on the deck of the pool.

Maya had come in and watched the whole interaction between you and your father go down. This is the first time they have seen each other in months. “Y/N get out and get dressed we are leaving.” Maya wasn’t letting Lane towards you. You can’t really hear everything being exchanged between them from the water in your ears and the rage in your body.

You were back at Maya and Carinas. The three of you are having dinner and it is so quiet you can almost hear the words on the neighbour’s TV. “Com'è andata la giornata, amore?”

Maya didn’t say much. Carina’s face read confused with her eyebrow raised. She moved on to you with the question. You said your day was fine while looking at Maya but she wasn’t convinced. “Okay, what is going on you two are usually non-stop talking. What happened today.” Carina demanded answers

“Carina, we are just tired. Today was busy and she had a long swim practice.” Maya tried getting Carina off your back, but you murmured with a slight laugh “Yeah, Long swim practice with an asshole.”

“Y/N enough.” Maya knows how much of an ass their dad can be, he’s still their father. Maya wants to keep it civil. You aren’t having any of it.

“Enough? Easy for you to say. You’re not around. You don’t live with him. All I ever hear from you is how Dad only wants what’s best for us. How is abusing us best?” You go to excuse yourself from the table but Maya stops you in your tracks

“Without him I wouldn’t have my Med-” Maya tries to get her sentence out but you stop her “You can shove your medal. Thanks to you and your stupid medal he has such a higher expectation for me.” You shove the chair into the dining room table and go straight to the guest room. You slam the door and your room is where you sit, silent for the next few hours

You’re sitting in a chair pushed in front of the windows. Watching the trees get tossed around in the strong wind with the occasional lighting strike. You don’t even realise how long you’ve been sitting there. You’ve been too concentrated on speaking your mind to Maya at dinner to notice Carina opening the door. Carina walks around the back of the chair and sets a plate in your lap. “here Bella, you didn’t finish your dinner.”

You gave her a smile and she left the room. Not long after Maya knocked on the door and slowly opens it. This time you’re in your bed you turn to look away from her.

“I’m sorry Gup.” You could tell Maya meant it from the heart. Which shattered yours. Maya wasn’t one for apologies. Growing up she was always hard-headed.

“You know, when mom left dad for that very short period of time, it was just him and I?” the look on your sister’s face was clear; she had no idea. “I didn’t know they were separated. She just left and one day she came back as if nothing happened. Maya, I had no one. You have Carina and the entire station.” You tried to keep the tears from falling from your eyes but the bright blue eyes looking at you broke you. You know that Maya has been having a hard time but you can’t excuse the lack of support from your family. “I can’t be with Dad anymore.” your voice starts to crack while explaining things that have been going on. “I’m not trying to make you feel bad Maya but if I’m struggling this much at 14. Who’s to say I’ll even make it to 15.”

Maya put her arm around you and pulled you in close. You both were crying. Your eyes meet Maya “Y/N, you are right. I haven’t been the big sister I should be. I have actually thought about you a lot recently, Carina and I would like to offer a permanent place for you here. Please don’t think about what dad will do. We will figure it out.”

You hugged your sister tight and all you could say was Thank You.

Do u have any headcannons of your own?

A lot of mine are ones that have also been said by others in the past, and it's usually easier to come up with them when there's specific questions as opposed to the general ones that a lot of people share/have come up with but some of the ones I have based on things we've seen on the show and just that I feel would be the case for Marina:

-Non sexual intimacy is huge for both Maya and Carina. I know this is already a popular headcanon around the fandom and I totally agree. Physical touch is a huge love language for both of them and I feel like their relationship thrives off of it, both sexually and non sexual.

-To pair with the non sexual intimacy stuff: They love cuddling and spend their mutual days off cuddling most of the day, either in bed or on the couch. Also giving each other massages often since both of their jobs are tough on their bodies.

-I like to think that Carina enjoys cooking for Maya so much and surprising her with big spreads of food because she knows how restricted Maya was as a child and how her father really dictated what she ate and didn't get to really enjoy food or have a healthy relationship with it and that's something Carina tries to change and help Maya with. Making her see food in a better and healthier way and that it's okay to indulge and enjoy yourself.

-I also feel like Carina is the type who will make a huge deal out of holidays, making sure the apartment is decorated all out each time to again make up for Maya's childhood (and maybe even her own) so that they could experience things they never got to as kids and do it together.

-I fully believe that Maya understands Italian more than they imply on the show. She may not be able to speak it as much but she can definitely understand things in small doses that Carina says to her and she obviously knows a decent amount of words that Carina says often too. And I believe she would try her hardest to learn more so that she will be able to speak to their children in Italian because they will grow up bilingual.

-Maya will be incredibly protective over her pregnant wife. (This one is obvious). She will go out in the middle of the night to get any kind of craving Carina wants, she'll talk to the baby bump every morning and night, rub Carina's back and feet whenever she needs, check in with her maybe a little too much daily to Carina's liking, but deep down Carina loves it and how much Maya cares and is involved.

-Maya loves being the little spoon when they cuddle and when Carina plays with her hair. Carina does this often especially after what happened with Lane and pulling on her ponytail. Carina loves laying on top of Maya and burying her face in her neck, that's her favorite position to lay in.

-Carina wears Maya's clothes often. (It's a crime we haven't seen this on the show yet.) Especially when they're apart due to Maya's 24-48 hour shifts. She'll wear one of Maya's SFD shirts/hoodies and sleep on her side of the bed when she's not home. Maya will sleep on Carina's side of the bed when she's not home too. (This is kind of already implied on the show and I love it.)

-I like to think when Maya has a day off and Carina is going to work in the morning and Maya has time to make her lunch to send with her, she writes little notes with her lunch that are little reminders of how amazing of a doctor Carina is, how important her job is and how proud Maya is of her. She's her wife's biggest fan and loves making sure she knows it.

-I think they try their hardest to go out on a date night at least once a month as long as their schedules allow and they go all out when it comes to celebrating anniversaries and each other's birthdays. Carina especially makes sure Maya is celebrated on her birthday knowing she probably didn't make a big deal of it in the past.

I got into writing ff as a young child! My favourite TV show at the time had a canon pairing that I absolutely loved, and before I knew it, I was writing fanfiction for them.

I love editing! Less so for my own work (because then I get sucked into the lovely hole of rewriting sentences and paragraphs), but I love editing for my partner. It makes me feel accomplished, knowing that I put my all into a piece of work (when I edit my own stuff), and bonus: a snippet into WIPs before they're published! ;)

I absolutely love @rafiel_ahi (ao3) for her JJ/Emily (Criminal Minds) work. She has such an attention to detail and her imagery that she manages to capture never ceases to amaze me. Other authors that I can't recommend enough are @jazzfordshire (Tumblr/Ao3) for their Supercorp (Supergirl) fics, and last but not least, @englishstrawbie for their Maya/Carina (Station 19) fics. Fun fact, yours (@jmflowers) was the very first work on Ao3 that I read for the Marina pairing, and I absolutely fell in love!

I believe there's a rabbit on the moon! (Not really, haha, obvs). Instead of the traditional "man on the moon" trope, I was told as a young child that there was a rabbit on the moon, and when it's a full moon, I like to see that I can see the outline of his ears. He is apparently pounding some fermented beans up there.

I have lovely pets that always make me laugh, no matter how stressed I am (Clementine, Lemon, Fig, and Peach, my ratties, and my little doggie who's been with me since I too was a smol bean).

Stand up | A station 19 fanfiction

Summary: For a few weeks now, Carina has been upset about something, but won’t talk about it with Maya. The brunette has reassured Maya that it has nothing to do with her, and that she is incredibly happy. When Maya finally finds out the reason, it breaks her heart.

A/N: As most of you know, there are some very pro-life, and anti-lgbtq+ laws being passed in Italy right now. This is a fic that explores Carina’s feelings regarding that, taking place about 3 months after the firefighters ball.

Warnings: Talk of homophobia, transphobia, and pro-life people, along with abortion and a person’s right to chose. Please don’t read if not comfortable. Otherwise, happy reading :)

Carina has been upset for weeks.

Maya was immediately worried that she did something, but Carina assured her that it is nothing to do with Maya or their relationship. But still refused to talk to Maya about it.

So, Maya merely tried to her best to comfort her wife, despite having no clue why Carina is so upset in the first place.

Maya gently knocks on the door to Andy’s office, and the captain tells her to come in.

“Hey cap. We’re about to have lunch to celebrate Jack officially being back. Want to join?” Maya offers.

Jack has officially come back to work on desk duty, after taking five weeks off to recover from his injury at the ball. Needless to say, everyone is thrilled to have him back.

“Yeah, I’ll be down in a few.” Andy replies. Maya goes to leave, but is stopped. “Bishop? What’s going on with you?” Andy questions.

Maya sighs, before shutting the door to the office. “Can I talk to you? As your friend, and not as your lieutenant?”

Andy nods without hesitation. “Of course, we talked about this. Just because I’m captain now doesn’t mean I’m no longer your friend. Come sit.”

Maya sits down, sighing heavily. “Carina has been upset for weeks now, but won’t tell me why, just that it has nothing to do with our relationship or me. But she still refuses to say anything other than that, and I feel helpless because I don’t know how to comfort her if I don’t know what’s wrong.” She explains.

Andy nods sympathetically. “I get it. But hey, just be there for her in every way you can. You know her, you know what she will need. No matter the circumstance. Just be her loving, and caring wife.”

Maya smiles. “Thanks, Andy. You always know what to say.” Andy grins. “It’s part of my charm, Bishop. Let’s go eat.”

Maya laughs as they exit the office.

Maya returns home later on, finding Carina on the couch, intently reading her phone. She barely even looks up when Maya opens the door.

“Hey baby. How was work?”

Silence.

“Babe?”

Again, no answer.

“Carina?”

The brunette suddenly snaps out of her daze. “Oh, hi bambina. I didn’t hear you come in.”

Maya chuckles. “I noticed. What are you so engrossed in?”

Carina’s eyes gloss over. Maya immediately comes over to her. “Hey, talk to me. What’s going on, my love?”

Carina merely shows Maya her phone.

Maya sees an article.

Abortion bans.

Same sex marriage will become illegal.

LGBTQ+ parents will have their parental rights taken away.

LGBTQ+ people will no longer have any rights.

64.6 percent of gynecologists refusing to perform abortions.

Refusal to let LGBTQ+ parents be on their child’s birth certificates, no longer recognizing them as their real parents.

Potential banning of the english language.

All happening in Italy.

Carina’s home country. Where she was born, where she grew up, where her brother was born, where her dad and best friend Gabriella currently live.

“Oh baby.” Maya coos. “Is this why you’ve been so upset?” She asks. Carina nods in confirmation.

“When I worked in Italia, I was the only doctor within miles that would perform abortions. So many people would drive and fly miles just to see me in Sicily. There was one other doctor, but she refused to perform abortions on non-binary people and transgender men who still had biological female organs. So many transgender people came to me, begging me to give them an abortion.” Carina explains.

“Maya, we wouldn’t even be recognized as our future babies’ parents. Our marriage would no longer be legal. Our love, our devotion, and our commitment to each other wouldn’t even be recognized!” She continues, her voice becoming louder and more distressed.

“Hey, hey, hey. Take a deep breathe, baby. You’re ok, you’re safe.” Maya murmurs, bringing Carina into her arms as the older women sobs.

“Shh, my love. It’s alright, you’re with me and you’re safe. Let it out.” Maya whispers soothingly, rubbing Carina’s back and occasionally kissing her head gently.

After a few minutes, Carina’s cries dissipate into occasional whimpering. Maya continues her ministrations, combing Carina’s hair with her fingers and tickling her back to calm her down.

“I’m so sorry this is happening, my love.” Maya murmurs. Carina sits up, but still leans on Maya, wiping her tears. “Is there anything we can do, baby? Because as long as it isn’t violent, I’ll be there with you, sweetheart.” Maya promises.

“I’ll have to look into it, bambina. But for now, hold me?” Carina requests, her voice cracking and accent heavy.

Maya smiles sadly. “Always, my love. Always.”

“Alright. Now that I’ve said everything I needed to say, Lieutenant Bishop has requested the floor. Bishop?” Andy requests. Maya nods.

“Thank you, Cap. I appreciate you letting me speak to the team today.” Maya begins.

“As we all know, there have been many harmful laws passed regarding what people are allowed to do with their bodies. I say people because although these laws majorly affect women, we can not forget the transgender men and non-binary people who still have biologically female body parts. They are at risk too.” She explains.

“My wife is an OB, and a bringer of life. In turn, because she performs abortions, her life is always at risk. But, things are happening outside of our country that make her feel angry and heartbroken. In Italy, her home country, where she grew up, where her brother was born, and where her best friend and father currently live. Laws that will ban abortions and the necessary reproductive healthcare. 64.6 percent of gynecologists in Italy refuse to perform abortions.” She continues.

“Not only that, but LGBTQ+ Italian citizens are at a great risk. In Italy, Carina and I’s marriage would not be recognized or legal. If Montgomery became a father, as a gay man, he would not be recognized as his child’s father. Same with myself and Carina. Our rights would be taken away, and we would not be on our child’s birth certificate. Now, with that said, Carina did some research and found some Italian born Seattle citizens planning to march in protest of what is going on in their home country, along with the disgusting and dehumanizing pro-life laws going on in our country right now. “I’ll be there, 100 percent. I know Miranda will too.” Ben replies, smiling supportively.

“Same. You and Carina are our family, I’d be honored to support.” Vic says.

“I second that.” Travis grins.

The rest of the team reply with other forms of agreement, all of them agreeing to be there.

“Thank you guys. As your former captain, I’m incredibly proud. As your friend, I am incredibly honored.” Maya grins, unshed tears in her eyes. “Cap?”

Andy squeezes Maya’s shoulder, silently supporting her friend.

“Of course, I expect that you will all be peaceful, and do no harm to yourselves, others, station 19, or SFD.” Andy says firmly.

“Yes, captain.” The team replies.

Andy nods. “19!”

“19!”

Maya holds her wife’s hand tightly, holding up her sign.

Her team, her family, surrounds her, along with many people, a lot of whom are of Italian descent.

She feels an arm go around her shoulders, and looks to see Vic. Holding a sign with one arm, her other around Maya.

Carina looks at her lovingly. “I love you, bambina.”

“I love you too, baby.”

Maya looks smaller than ever before. She's wrapped in bandages, and there are wires everywhere, connecting her to all kinds of machines.

This is not her Maya.

And yet, in a very sad way, it is.

Maya has been in pain for longer than Carina remembers. Hurt by her family, by the world, even by herself. It's not something she easily admits, heck she literally runs away from it whenever she gets the chance, but the invisible scars have always been there.

After today, they just won't be invisible anymore.

This fragile image, this almost physical embodiment of her suffering, isn't what reminds Carina of her Maya though. It's the opposite, actually.

Her body might be broken, but it's fighting like hell. If Carina couldn't tell with her own eyes, couldn't feel by the pulse underneath her thumb, the heart rate monitor behind her would, as it's showing the strongest heartbeat thinkable.

Maya is doing what she knows best. She's fighting.

Even now.

Carina tightens her grip on Maya's hand, needing her to know that it's okay. That she's not stopping her - not this time. Not ever again, if that's what gets her through.

If that's what keeps her alive.

Of course she hated it. These past weeks, months even. The fighting, the yelling, the blaming. But - truth be told - it had been the both of them. They'd both tried to deal with things in their way. They'd both felt in their right, maybe a few times too many. Their shared stubbornness sure hadn't been helpful, hadn't brought them anywhere... some habits are just hard to kick.

She hated it, but at the same time she knew it was their strength as well. They could have quit. They could have walked away from each other. Easy as that. But they weren't those kind of people. When they knew something was worth the fight, they didn't back away from it.

Maya least of all.

It's who she was, it's who she'd always been. It's who Carina met, and admired, and fell in love with - till this very day. It's who got her through the worst part of her life - the loss of her brother - and who would do so without question, again and again when needed.

She would... if she could.

Leaning in, Carina gently caresses Maya's cheek.

"I know you’re doing this your way, bambina," she quietly whispers, her voice raw from crying. "But I need you to wake up now." She stands up to press the softest kiss on her wife’s lips. One that doesn't get answered. "You need to wake up..." she sobs, "because I can’t do this without you."

Reader kind of barges into her sister’s apartment with very bad timing catching Maya and Carina in a heated discussion which is a little triggering to R bc Lane is being terrible and placing all sorts of pressure in R. Maya and Carina help Reader calm down and feel better.

Y/N is running towards Maya and Carina’s house, having lost her car privileges, because according to her father, she needs to use every minute of her life to train for the Olympic tryouts. Even going to her sister’s house.

Her legs are screaming at her to stop, or even slow down her pace, but she can’t afford to slack off. She needs to be the best, just like her sister. You need to be more like your sister. Your sister was a lot more serious about this than you are. Did you know your sister has a gold metal from the Olympics? The sentences run through her head as she pushes herself to speed up on the last meters. Considering the way her father uses her sister’s success against her, it’d be easy to become bitter to her too, but Y/N loves her sister. Maya is her safe place. Has been since she was born.

Panting slightly, Y/N comes to a stop in front of Maya and Carina’s house. She does a few harsh knocks on the door, but decides to just open the door with an extra key she got from the couple. She steps inside and closes the door behind her, immediately hearing loud voices coming from the living room.

“Hello?” She calls out, not wanting to walk in on anything she shouldn’t be a part of, but no one seems to hear her. Y/N starts walking towards the shouting, her heartbeat fastening with every step.

“You know that isn’t how it works!” Maya’s loud voice boom through the house. “I can’t just-” the sentence gets cut off by a groan.

In the logical part of her brain, Y/N knows Maya is nothing like their father, but the way she sounds when angry is so similar to him. Her breath hitches as a bang comes from the living room. All the memories of Lane throwing something her way coming up. “Shit.” She mumbles, leaning against a wall to calm down.

“I can’t talk about this right now.” Carina sighs, walking out of the living room, but stopping the moment she sees Y/N in their house. “Maya!”

“What n- oh.” Maya stares at Y/N, instantly worried of her. “What are you doing here?” She sets her hand on her arm.

“I was just really stressed about the tryouts and dad, so I wanted to come here, but then you two were fighting and I didn’t know what to do, and I-“

“Hey, hey, hey,” Maya pulls her into an embrace, “it’s okay. You’re okay.” She rubs her back. “I’m sorry you heard that.”

“What did your father do?” Carina asks, also setting a hand on Y/N’s shoulder once she pulls away from the hug. Maya glances at her girlfriend at the question, but doesn’t comment on it.

Y/N shrugs, leaning to the touch. Ever since Maya started dating Carina, the Italian has become another safe place for her. “Telling me to train a lot, gives me no breaks, yells,” she hesitates for a moment, “sometimes he throws stuff.”

Maya and Carina look at each other, the latter has a look on her face that Y/N can’t decipher. It looks like the subject makes the couple tense. “Has anything hit you?” Y/N avoids eye contact at the question, which makes Maya ask it again, “has anything hit you? Are you hurt?”

“It’s not a big of a deal. He wants me to do well on the tryouts and get a gold medal like you did.”

Rubbing her forehead, Maya starts pacing. ”It is a big deal, honey.” Carina’s hand goes up to brush her hair. She has a worried look on her face. “He is abusive.”

“Carina.” Maya speaks up. “He just- he wants us to succeed. He is the reason I have my medal.”

“Don’t say that stuff in front of her.” Carina whispers, as if Y/N wouldn’t be able to hear her. “He is hurting your little sister, Maya. He hurt you. He is not a good father.” The conversation is starting to get heated again. Clearly this was the subject of their earlier fight too. “I know you don’t want to accept it yet, but you have to agree that she’d be better off with us.”

Y/N frowns. Were they talking about her? “We’ll talk about it later.” Maya mumbles, turning back to her sister, clearly ending the conversation. “Carina cooked some lasagna earlier today, you want some?”

“Dad said not to eat too much.”

Biting the inside of her cheek, Maya shakes her head and pulls Y/N to the kitchen. “Well, I say you eat some lasagna. And then the three of us can watch a movie, okay? You’ll sleep over this night.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.” Carina speaks up, having followed them to the kitchen. “We’ll paint our nails and do our hair, have a pillow fight,” she laughs, “all the things they do in those American films, right?”

“Okay.” Y/N nods with a smile, already feeling like a small weight has been lifted. She knows it’ll all come back when she goes back home, but for now, she’ll enjoy Maya and Carina’s company.

06x09//Come As You Are - weekly recap

this should be a short one, because well, what the hell was that episode?!

- Maya trying and failing to meditate was pretty relatable

- Andy and Vic dancing and singing. Maybe the writers are gonna remember that these two used to be friends a few seasons ago, you know? Just in case they forgot, which they would never, right? RIGHT?

- The only storyline that wasn’t utter crap in this episode was the one with Theo (and Vic). The writing did have its weak points, even in those scenes, but overall this storyline might turn into a pretty solid one and Theo can do no wrong, if you ask me

- Do we need to talk about Carina and that pregnant lady? I mean, do we? I’m not even upset about what happened, I am just upset at the horrible writing and how cringe it was that Carina shared all these things about her marriage and fertility journey with a stranger (yes, this is the Grey’s universe, but still), who extremely awkwardly flirted with her out of the blue. Also, how is Jack suddenly the one who’s so concerned about people cheating? Make it make sense.

- The one good part about that fight between the two guys was the fact that British Dude got sucker punched. That’s it, that’s the highlight of that scene.

- I refuse to give Beckett more than one sentence at this point (yes, even if his uncle is sick)

- Vic and Theo talking. I love that. I love how they communicate, even when they argued before. I love how they resolve. I love Vic’s little smile when Theo “accuses” her of being like Diane. And I loved that she mentioned code switching instead of accusing Theo of being fake. We need this.

- Andy agreeing on a date with The British Dude *screams into pillow*. Guess we don’t need strong, independent women. Guess we need *looks at smudged writing on hand* Andy with yet another questionable guy, that’s right. We need that. Just ask the writers.

- Carina isn’t ready to come back. Maya isn’t ready for Carina to come back. They both have work to do and I hope we see Carina getting psychological help too.

What’s next?

- I love the whacky idea that the pregnant lady was introduced so the writers can kill her off and have Carina and Maya adopt the baby. Not because I am a fan of the idea, but because at this point we have fully descended into chaos and I would absolutely believe that the writers would do this

- Real talk, we need some sort of fucking sign for how many days this team has been trusting The British Dude without ever questioning what he is up to. We all know he is up to something, it’s just a matter of if he’s after Travis or Andy and it’s not going to end well. Seriously, stop trusting this dude, guys.

Not sure how I feel about the whole Maya giving Beckett a bottle plot… The action itself is horrible, and Maya was absolutely in the wrongs for doing it. However, maybe I’m just really biased, I feel like this is a total inconsistency/disservice to Maya Bishop, the character.

Maya is a competitive person, and she’s a perfectionist without a doubt. She is relentless, and would do anything to achieve her goals. BUT, she still has a morale (or maybe she’s too proud to allow herself to do something so “low”). All her aggressive actions operate within her moral limits. The most out of line action she could take, imo, is blackmailing. Maybe because I’m projecting myself onto Maya Bishop, but I just cannot imagine even at her personal lowest point, she would go out of her way to intentionally hurt another person. She’s always been strict and harsh, but on herself- her excessive exercising and pushing Carina away to not be loved etc. Her defaults to being abused/hurt are to punish herself and run away from people who shows her love. She’s not really a revenge type of person. Also, not saying she didn’t hurt anyone with her “self-discipline” tendency, because by intentionally hurting herself, she also hurts Carina.

But if this plot wasn’t a mis-writing on the writers part, then I guess it could be seen as the writers want to use this extreme non-Maya-like-behavior to show how messed up she truly was with her mental health?! Idk, I just think Maya, regardless of her mental health conditions, would not go out committing such horrendous act to anyone, even if the person bullied her into a mental breakdown.

Maybe I’m forgetting some stories, but have we seen her actively going after/revenging anyone on the show so far? When she was captain, she was always the calm and collected one on the scene. She never lost her temper when it comes to her job, even when her father physically pulled her hair, even when male superiors questioned her authority, and even when male civilians got angry and yelled around the team etc. Granted, these all happened before her mental health completely went south… So, these might not be the most convincing examples 🤷🏻‍♀️

The only person we saw her losing her temper to was Carina. She can be fuming yet still composed to outsiders, but once Carina pushes, Maya bites back and fires up at her. I can believe this character trait/flaw because there has been a pattern especially now we also saw Carina indeed felt that she was pushed aside/neglected from Maya’s job. In Carina’s pov, Maya would follow rules and do anything for her job, but not for her. She felt she was treated worse for being Maya’s wife, the person Maya’s supposed to love and run to.

Anyways, the action of giving an addict (whether or not they are in recovery) the very object of their addiction with the intention to cause harm is purely evil. Do not do this.

Let’s dive into my thoughts and full on rambling about Station 19 6x05. You know the drill spoilers ahead people!

I’m glad Andy stays in touch with her mom, this might be an unpopular opinion but i’d like to see the insights of their relationship. I mean her mom was there when the whole assault happened, supporting her but i guess we have to put those pieces together on our own.

I honestly don’t mind Sullivan and Ross happening, what bothers me the most out of the whole thing is how they act all mighty and perfect while they keep their relationship on the low because they KNOW it’s wrong, yet Sullivan goes pointing fingers at people when they do the wrong thing. It’s only a matter of time for them to get caught (or at least that’s what i think)

Maya and Carina! Probably what most people were expecting lol, but by the end of this you’ll notice how it’s not super happy stuff going on. Alright so Maya seems to be downplaying her injury since she was taking care of it in their guest room which makes me think that Carina isn’t probably aware of how badly things are. It was good to get a small peak for us how things happened between them, Maya was the one who insisted on them seeing each other more than once according to Carina, because Carina only thought their interaction as a simple hook up. Nice to know the lingerie she was wearing that day was exactly the one she had on when they first hooked up. The surprise was nice but we still see Maya push back a little, the kiss was a win but honestly i wish we had more of it.

Beckett being nice? What is this man up to?

The duality of the call was pretty cool, not gonna lie, at first i didn’t think much of it but hey, i thought it was nice to have it. All i have to say: hate corporations

Travis’ scandal, oh my boy, politics are dirty for sure and i truly hope they can spin this. As much as i love Vic supporting him they gotta seek the professional help to fix this mess

*sighs* Jack what are we going to do with you? I mean i’m glad he’s turning his life around i guess but a shower and a haircut is not gonna be enough. I actually hated what he said to Ben about the clinic, like bro this was your idea and you just took off to god knows where and left them stranded with all the work. Side note: Carina being sarcastic and “hating” on Jack is funny to me especially after S5 went down, the news at the end surprised me a lot, we’ll see what happens after that

I liked Theo’s approach, after what he said about Maya in the first episodes i was like wtf with this dude but he stood up for her which i’m glad it’s happening because Maya Bishop is not in a good place. I’m wondering how this is going to end because Theo was right, maybe that call wasn’t Beckett’s fault but the other ones? They have been questionables at best, Ross knows she has to do something about it but i wonder how things went down after the whole blackmailing thing with Ross, Sullivan and Beckett

And that brings me to my last point, Maya Bishop not realizing she needs help, i’m glad Carina knows when and how to push (for the lack of a better term). Maya is so deep into “eyes forward” that a nice evening with her wife is not going to fix that, is unrealistic so obviously it’s gonna take more to realize that she needs help. We all thought 6x04 that last scene was Maya’s breaking point but it seems that something else will happen that would make her understand she needs to get actual help. I’m guessing pregnancy is the thing that would make Maya realize this, so we see how she’s pushing Carina away because she thinks that coping her way it’s fine but when you’re about to grow your family it goes beyond the two of them, we all saw how Carina stormed to the bathroom so i guess she knows the results now? Idk, lots of things moving forward, i’m thinking as i said on Twitter maybe Carina blurts out she’s pregnant to Maya and that’s the tipping point for them into getting in a healthier place

Bonus: the lesbian weed cookies were back! I had so much fun with them😂
