My two cents on the whole situation

I think a lot of people in the Welcome Home fandom are misunderstanding the bigger picture here. It's resulting in a lot of people expressing disappointment and pointing fingers at people who aren't even the problem, and while the intentions mean well, it's causing the toxic environment Clown doesn't want.

In his post, which has now been privated, he talks about how overwhelming everything is. He even directly states that it's not just about boundaries, and while he has trouble putting it into words (and I will not put words in his mouth in the process either), Clown indicates that the sudden spotlight and attention is overwhelming him. And that's completely understandable - he's just one guy! Plus, he's been making stuff for Welcome Home for years, so it only makes sense to fluster over the sudden rush of attention in only a week. A week!!!

The reasons why boundaries come into play with all of this isn't just because his THREE rules were violated by garbage people. It's the fact that he had no time to establish boundaries beforehand, and it's stressful to suddenly have to think of EVERY facet of fandom culture and establish the dos and don'ts. But as Clown said, what's happened has happened, and all we can do is move on. Which leads me to my next point:

Clown explicitly said to not reprimand people on his behalf. He doesn't want the fandom to waste time and energy on people who have already crossed the line. What has happened, has happened. With that said, it's important to educate and point out when someone has crossed a boundary, but you shouldn't go through so much effort and anger over someone who clearly doesn't give a shit.

I've seen a lot of people who are making posts with a lot of "shame on you!"s and "You are all trash." I've also seen comments on harmless fanfics or art saying things like "You're the reason this fandom sucks." What awful things to say!

This fandom is probably one of the best fandoms I've been a part of. Why? Because a large majority, and I mean a LARGE majority, are respectful of Clown and want to do right by him. I've never seen a community band together so quickly to change their ways, apologize, spread the word, and evaluate the decisions they've made: not just in this fandom, but every fandom they've ever been a part of. That's HUGE. I've been on the internet for a very long time, and I don't think I've ever seen anything like that.

Yes, there are BAD eggs in this fandom, but there always is. What's important is that I haven't been seeing those bad eggs. Like, at all. I haven't seen a single explicit NSFW post, and I haven't seen a single piece of mass-produced merch. I've only heard about them through word-of-mouth, but I've never actually seen anything with my own eyes. Not that I doubt anyone, but I'm saying this to illustrate just how little bad eggs there are in the community. And this is a HUGE community.

In fact, I think we're so good, that we're starting to punish ourselves for making fandom content, and that is also awful. I want to reiterate what Clown's three major rules are:

Refrain from publicly posting NSFW content or content that wouldn't be safe for children to see/read.

Do not mass produce merch. Commissions and personal projects are fine, but they cannot be mass produced to be sold.

Do not impersonate and claim his art as yours. Give credit!! Don't trick people, and don't profit off of someone else's work!

And that's it! I've seen a lot of people taking down their fanfictions and art and AUs just because they're worried about Clown. That's super sweet and it warms my heart to hear that the community is so considerate, but remember, the three rules above are the only don'ts. Lots of people are scared of continuing to overwhelm him, and they're also scared that he might stop the project all together.

I assure you, he's not. Firstly, his fan works guideline is still pinned on his Tumblr blog!! If he wasn't sure of fanworks all together, he would have simply privated the post and write a new one with new rules. The rules have not changed. He loves to see fan interpretations, your AUs, your OCs, and your art! This is all explicitly stated! Secondly, he actually posted an update on his ko-fi that indicates that he's doing much better and that he's "elbow deep" into working on Welcome Home! I'm a member that gets to see all of his posts on ko-fi, and while I'm not going to show you the whole post (obviously), I will quote an important part you guys should see: "You have all been so delightful to me (Setbacks happen with an abrupt shift in attention, I realize, so roll I will with this newfound experience!) and I was like 'Oh, let's post a tasty preview!'"

Clown acknowledges all of the goodwill and kindness the community has shown. He even states that he's learned from the experience and he's working hard on Welcome Home to see it through!

This was a very long two cents, so I'll end it here.

tl;dr, You guys are being too harsh on each other/yourselves, and that's the last thing Clown wants. He's doing better, Welcome Home is still being worked on, and you shouldn't have to shame yourself or others for posting perfectly kosher fandom content. There's only three major rules, three, so you shouldn't have to feel bad about what makes you happy.

So, bit of an idea. My problem right now is too many ideas for these characters, but not enough time to write it all.

But the idea is that it's a Jangobi/Kenfetti soulmate au. Where soulmates are chosen by acts of true honor. (By the force/the manda/a higher power)

In this version of the story Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were at the battle of Galidraan at 44BBY (Obi-Wan is 16 at the time, a little aged up, Jango Fett is 22.) leading to an event where the Jedi don't kill Fett and his Mandalorians. Thanks to Obi-Wan's negotiation skills, they manage to get down to the truth and calm the situation. (And in particular Myles and Jango, which earns Obi-Wan massive amounts of respect by said Mandalorians.)

This event kick-starts a soulmate link between Obi-Wan and Jango, though soulmate links don't fully activate until someone is 18.

Now imagine two years later, Obi-Wan starts having dreams where he meets someone with a familiar voice. You can't see your soulmate's face in your dreams until you are fully aware of who it is. Once that clicks, the person in question is able to see their soulmates face. It has to click for both people.

Once they know who their soulmate is, a telepathic link forms if both parties are willing (even if subconsciously) to pursue the bond.

That's important, because you can refuse a soulmate bond. It's very rare in Mandalorian culture to do so. (Because of their beliefs). But it is more common in Jedi culture. (Though not required, it is very much a choice someone can make.) As long as their duties as Jedi take precedent.

Now, a 19-year-old padawan Obi-Wan and his master Qui-Gon Jinn are sent to Mandalore in 41BBY.

The true Mandalorians hold Keldabe while the New Mandalorians and the Deathwatch are at war over the rest of the planet.

Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon try to broker peace and install the New Mandalorians as the official government of Mandalore. However, things go haywire, and Obi-Wan has to take Satine and go on the run.

One day, he runs into a rather familiar face with an even more familiar voice. Jango Fett, the current Mand'alor of Keldabe, who's gathering more support among the different clans of Mandalore.

So in order to hide Satine from Deathwatch, Obi-Wan convinces Jango to take them both back to Keldabe.

And then you have this little fun and games section where Obi-Wan learns so much more about the true mandalorians and how they operate. And Satine learns much more about their heritage.

And there's this bit of a friendship of Obitine forming where they really care for each other on the deepest platonic level, but they have no real romantic interest in each other.

But of course Jango misreads that, even though he and Obi-Wan have been growing so much closer in their bonds, and he's come to see that the Jedi aren't all that bad either.

And there's this bit of shenanigans and misunderstandings that lead to an honest conversation about how they feel. And Obi-Wan comes to realize that Jango may be the person he'll leave the order for if it comes down to it.

But then Qui-Gon finds them in Keldabe. The Duke has been killed by Deathwatch. And there's more pressure than ever to just deal with the problem before it becomes bigger.

Jango, realizing that the fate of the planet, and potentially the greater galaxy, now rests on his shoulders, gathers the true mandalorians for one last showdown against Clan Vizsla. (And also avenge Jaster while he's at it.)

It's a tough fight, but Jango wins the darksaber from clan vizsla and is elected Mand'alore of the planet by the clans.

Obi-Wan, now faced with a choice to become a mandalorian or remain a Jedi, makes the choice to stay on Mandalore and honor his soulmate bond. A choice he doesn't make lightly, and that deeply saddens him inside.

Jango picks up on this and, although conflicted in his feelings, also recognizes that being a Jedi is the one true thing that makes Obi-Wan happiest. So he gives Obi-Wan the choice to leave and return to the Jedi temple. Obi-Wan refuses again, stating his place is here.

Jango isn't so sure after seeing just how miserable Obi-Wan is without a purpose. So he does something rather radical, he contacts Qui-Gon Jin and the Jedi order, except they don't send him Qui-Gon Jinn, they send him Dooku instead.

And Dooku decides, hey you know what, this place has the right idea about an actual functional government that fucking works. They need some help, sure, but I can work with that. So Dooku contacts Yoda to establish an independent Jedi temple on Mandalore (with permission from the Mand'alore, of course) that will be run by Obi-Wan Kenobi if the boy can pass his trials. He'll oversee it all, but is very much content by just being a helper of the people and being the wine uncle with crazy ideas.

The establishment of the independent Jedi Temple on Mandalore is what the force/the manda consider Jango's act of honor for Obi-Wan and their soulmate bond solidifies into a fully matured bond, resulting in a marriage of not only Jango and Obi-Wan, but also of Jedi and Mandalorian culture. Where the planet's ecosystem is restored, its people thrive, and somewhere down the line Jango & Obi-Wan have (or adopt, for the non mpreg fans) a couple of kids (Boba, Cal, Omega).

And that's how Obi-Wan Kenobi lives his best life on Mandalore. Idk. I never said the idea was perfect, just intriguing.

Obviously, I'm just speculating, but taking from what Schneider said last year - I don't think the rest of the guys were ever jealous of Till's solo work. Why would they be? Especially after Emigrate. Richard and Till clearly need a bigger let out than Rammstein can provide, and if it doesn't interfere with Rammstein, then why not? But unlike Emigrate, Lindemann went on tour. Garnered negativity that reflected onto the band. And most importantly, unlike Richard, Till got further away from them. He didn't want to and couldn't spend more time with them as individuals and as a band member. He got a new friend group, new entourage, which integrated into Rammstein and put an even bigger wedge between them. Till even stopped flying with them! And that what might've caused resentment caused by fear. Is Till quitting Rammstein? Is he even still our friend?

And Richard had a fight with Zoran before the backstage bj video which btw was tasteless and lowkey offensive to the band and the crew. Mein Teil is a great video but they've made some masterpieces since then. None of which had to involve sado masochism veiling itself as "being misunderstood".

I've nothing against Till doing what he's doing, he has every right to it but I also believe that last years incident should've been a massive eye opener (not the fucking young women part. He made it very clear with his poem that he doesn't care what we think about that) but that if he wants Rammstein to continue, he cannot lead a double life. Richard managed to separate Rammstein-self and Emigrate-self whilst still maintaining both full time. Till completely failed that, clearly deeply hurting 5 other individuals in the process. It was easier for him to do what he wants and ice everyone out. It's better if they took a long, long break than ruin 30+ year relationship with silence.

As for Zoran. He's just bitter. If post Zoran Rammstein videos are Ali Express, then wtf does that make him? Because no one even knew of him before the band and certainly he's not making any headlines post band. His only saving grace was Till but even then, his Lindemann videos aren't even the best ones..

I will work my way through this message and will add some of my own thoughts to it - this will be subjectiv and not everyone has to agree with everything.

It is true that Till and Richard both needed an additional outlet for their creative processes - the difference is that Till treats his solo project like a normal band and likes to go on tour (Richard mentioned this in one interview once that touring is a vital part for Till's creative life), while Richard treats his more like a studio project. Going out, touring with a stage show like his, putting out videos in this very style which is seen as 'typical Till' by now I might say - all this can serve as a target for misunderstanding, resentment, problems in general.

I do sometimes wonder why he takes these risks (after last summer more than ever). I know he as an artist has his own visions and wants them to come to life, which is his right - but I sometimes ask myself if it's worth it. If it's worth it that others have to deal with the problems his work/behavious has caused. But then again: it's none of my business and he has the freedom to do as he pleases.

I used this ask as an impetus to read Schneider's statement again (something which still triggers me a bit and which i haven't done in over half a year), and Schneider writes this: "Till has distanced himself from us in recent years and created his own bubble. With his own people, his own parties, his own projects. That made me sad, definitely." While I never understood this as being criticism towards Till having his musical side project, I do see it as criticism on how he treats it and how he handles things around it - between the lines there is (at least from my point of view) definitely discontent and concern. So I do believe the band doesn't see anything wrong with having side projects (in Richard's case they were even happy and relieved about it), but maybe in the trend of side projects demanding too much attention or developping possible unpleasant characteristics/outgrowths.

One can only hope that the last year really served Till as a wake up call to overthink some structures which gained influence around him.

I'm honestly not sure about this and I don't know what good a break would do in this case - since seemingly nothing incriminating had happend, there's no reason for a break in this regard, and maybe, just maybe, it's good for the band to work together this year, in their anniversary year, to actually feel close to each other, to reminisce together, something in this regard.

Regarding Zoran: Like I said in the post I reblogged, I find it highly conceited of him to quite literally say that every thing that came after him music video-wise, every art work from another director is inferior to his work in its quality (hence the 'AliExpress' metaphor). If he really means it that way, it's quite laughable to be honest. In my opinion, he is resting too much on his laurels he garnered from 'Mein Teil' - which admittedly had an immense effect and gave us Frau Schneider, and from "saving" 'Mein Herz brennt', but to say that the music videos of 'Deutschland', 'Adieu' or 'Zeit' are below his standards is mind-boggling to me (if I understand his allusion correctly).

Zoran's Lindemann videos are not my taste, and saying he wanted to express lonliness and insatiableness with a porn-video seems hypocritical and sends out 'oh I'm an artist, of course nobody understands me correctly'-pick me vibes. I'm not surprised that a lot of people who respects their own work didn't want to work with someone anymore who made a project like 'Till the end'.

I want to point out that the whole thing about Katelyn is in part a huge misunderstanding and in part.... fucking frustrating? Because she was talking about how the death penalty is fucking bullshit - giving the government the right to kill anyone is bullshit - and the person arguing against her was like, "hmmm, I wonder why you're so against killing pesos on sight 🤔 hmmm makes you think" which is BLATANT transmisogyny??? Like holy shit, she was just accused of being a goddamn pedophile???

What disappoints me is that she immediately went into "of course you stupid transmascs/fucking TMEs" instead of going "wow you're a huge transmisogynist and I refuse to fucking engage with you". That's what happened, in that conversation.

Extremely frustrating. Don't fucking call trans women pedophiles for being against the goddamn death penalty. Fucking hell.

Yeah, it's. actually reminding me a LOT about what Devon Price talked about in I Don’t Feel Safe Around Cis Women. he talks about groups that feel unsafe being the ones that lash out, and how that leads to violence between marginalized groups (lateral violence like the issue with katelyn, non-lateral violence in the cis woman/trans man example Devon used)

It's just... there's a pattern of seeing trans men being transmisogynistic, and immediately using it to push the idea that trans men are hateful oppressors, and I feel like that pattern is best expressed as a combination of genuine pain and internalized transandrophobia. I don't want to make it seem like the "what the fuck is wrong with you" response ISN'T valid, it is, but it's like. this happens w a lot of marginalized groups where some of them will be extremely bigoted (like being very misogynistic or racist) and then people will use that as an excuse to go "omg [x group] are a bunch of violent bigots their entire culture/race/group are violent oppressive monsters :/". and obviously that's a very hyperbolic version of how that goes, but yk what I mean. "this community needs to unlearn their internalized bigotry as we all do" is very different than "you are being a bigot it's ~how your group is~, I'm going to make this about you being [x identity] for some reason instead of just calling you out on your bigotry."

& its a bigger problem than just calling someone a stupid transmasc, especially considering the circumstances which must have been extremely upsetting and aggravating for her to deal with. she had a valid reason to be upset but its the ideology she has adopted i take issue with.

Just a quick word to point out that Putin is under the delusion that his Axis of Authoritarians would have Russia as its head. China is stronger than Russia and will not kowtow to a country which has a GDP not much bigger than Italy's and is suffering enormous losses in a war with a country which has only a quarter of Russia's population.

Putin was taken aback by both Ukraine's fierce defense and by Western resolve to protect the independence of a European democratic state. He refuses to admit that he made an enormous blunder so he continues to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of Russians while hoping that his US servants like Greene, Gaetz, and Trump will rescue him.

combinatorics by heyginger. patrick is in luvvv with joe when joe starts online dating during tour, and basically tension and feelings and etc etc ensue. the first time i read it i was like running around my house and squealing out loud and everything bc it's just that perfect, and it really only gets better upon re-reading bc you pick up on little things you didn't notice the first time! the tension and the misunderstandings are, at times, painful and you really feel everything patrick is going through, but it really keeps you on your toes! i feel like the characterization is perfect in this and i just can't get enough. also this is the fic i read to my partner (if you are a true josephtrohman fan and saw the post HAHAHAH), he really enjoyed it and is interested in me reading more of my favs to him bc of it, so it even has the normie stamp of approval ;)

hedonism by rosiedoesfic. patrick is in a toxic relationship with pete, but patrick and joe begin an affair and it leads to a mess of feelings and fighting and etc etc. it's angsty and it hurts and everything like that but god it's also sooo brilliantly written. rosie has this amazing gift of writing the voices so realistically, including and especially the complexities of joe's inner monologue! i mean not that i know joe’s inner monologue irl obviously but it feels so realistic…this fic a punch in the gut to read, and obviously i prefer when fob are like Friends rather than fighting but this fic is insanely beautiful that i can look past that preference of mine lol. one of the fics i've re-read the most because it's been a fave for a long time. so so so heart-achingly GOOD.

thnks fr th knckers by rosiedoesfic. a pair of panties gets thrown on stage at a show, and the floodgates open essentially, with patrick at the centre of it, grappling with finding it hot and also thinking it's weird basically. because of this internal dilemma, the tension (sorry i don't have a better word it's always tension lol) is like soooo perfect, like patrick fighting it but he can't UGHGHBG. it's a little naughty obviously but with some real plot and this is probably the singular fic i've reread the most throughout my life!!! i'm not even normally into panty kink stuff (not a problem with it, it's just something that's never been like a big turn on for me or anything) but this fic is AMAZING.

above are my three favest faves EVER and i go absolutely nutso for them, as you can tell!! i kind of cycle through the three of those for which one i call my all time favourite depending on my mood <3 if you only are interested in reading some of these, PLEASE PLEASE read the above three!!! i could go on forever and ever about them and just really leave this reclist there at those three, but just cuz i loveeee to talk about fic i'll touch on some others

in general, you really can't go wrong with any of rosie's fics!! i've read literally every single joetrick fic she's ever written and all of them are amazing, seriously very much our joetrick queen (hi rosie if you're reading this <3). some specific highlights for me in her catalogue include fairytale of new york (a really neat holidays fic with a hint of magic, i just re-read it the other day even tho it's july and it's so so so good) and technology (another fic written for the same prompt as combinatorics, all about online dating and catching feelings!! ughhhh amazing). i also would be remiss to NOT mention the world's not waiting which has an almost legendary status in joetrick/fob world, and rightfully so bc it's SOOO good and sweeps you away and then you blink and your whole day was spent just reading this fanfic lol...and it's been on a bit of pause BUT rosie has promised she's planning on resuming when she has time so better get to reading it so you're ready whenever there's the next update anon ;)

brace yourself and find a safe place by distortedmya. amazing fic about joe coming out as an adult, and it's soooo sweet <3

summer of like by heartofthesunrise. yes it may be the petekey title but it more focusses on j+p with some petekey drama off to the side that ends early on actually if i remember correctly. so dang sweet and the way the writing places you in the ambiance is kind of magical (i first read it in the winter and reading it truly felt like it was summer!)

Summary: Two exes are brought together when both will be leads for the next anticipated drama. Park Hana, an upcoming actress, is not very pleased to act alongside her ex. Jeong Jaehyun, an established actor, has come to the conclusion he wants her back. Would this new project bring them closer once again or push them apart even further?

Week 3 is already here and Hana cannot wait for the next two weeks to pass. Don’t misunderstand her, she’s happy to be in Boston and she’s enjoying her time with her family and old friends. But as the scenes keep getting more and more intimate with Chansung and Soojin, she doesn’t know if she can hold it for long. At the very least, she’s glad she doesn’t need to kiss him yet. However, she won’t be surprised if they want to start filming those scenes right away when they get back. 

Ever since Donghyuck made explicitly clear he and Hana are not dating by openly flirting around, people have been outspoken over Jaehyun’s and Hana’s so-called chemistry. She wonders if they even know what chemistry is because she tries to run in almost every scene that involves being near Jaehyun. She hasn’t seen any of the scenes so she has no idea if they’re being delusional or she’s pulling it off.

However, her bigger concern right now is Naomi. She hasn’t asked Hana anything about her ex, but she notices the way her friend's face turns into worry every once in a while. She does not regret telling her friend, she knows she means well, so she tries to reassure her friend she has moved on. Naomi has nothing to worry about.

Or so she thought.

“Are you sure you’re ok? Ever since you told me about your ex you have looked more stressful. You even had to do a retake earlier. Last time that happened I had to reunite all of our friends,” Naomi asks concerned and Hana bites her lip, she has indeed been having a hard time since Donghyuck’s birthday. 

“It has nothing to do with that. Why would I be stressing about an ex that’s not even around?” she lies, “Plus, I thought you wanted me to worry less about retakes.”

Her friend seems to get the memo because she stops as she quietly apologizes. Hana assures her she’s not mad. The intentions were good and she understands it. But right now she doesn’t want to be thinking about it. As if they heard her cries for distraction, Manager Jeon comes to notify them they should come out to film. Both friends go out to find most of the crew ready. 

Jaehyun is standing in the middle of the set looking at his script until Hana approaches. He lifts his gaze once she’s standing in front of him but he remains quiet. Since their last argument, he has refrained from talking to her unless the cameras are rolling, instead, he just looks at her. It makes her tense, but she suspects is his way to get her to speak to him so she stands her ground. 

“Action!” they hear Director Kim call out and both of them warp into their characters. 

The scene flows with no problem until Jaehyun wraps one arm around her. She tries to remind herself this is not Jaehyun right now, but Chansung. Her shoulders relax and she smiles back at him. This is not her being in love with Jaehyun but Soojin being in love with Chansung. They are working, becoming two different people. This helps her perform with ease and get lost in the scene. She says the last line, emphasizing her deep feelings for her lover.

Just then the scene ends and the director applauds them. Chansung and Soojin are back to being Jaehyun and Hana and break apart. While just a second ago they looked like lovers now they look like strangers. Quickly, Hana walks towards her stylists, not even acknowledging her costar. This shows to be a poor choice on her part, as everyone takes notice of her icy behavior. 

“What’s wrong with Hana? She’s been so cold to Jaehyun since filming started,” she overhears one staff member gossip and then someone else joins in with a sneer.

“She thinks now that she’s an A-lister she can be bitch to anyone. The typical actress on a power trip,” they comment and Hana clenches her jaw. If only they knew.

Both of them keep talking and giggling at their stupid jokes, not realizing that Hana is listening to everything they’re saying. She wants to say something, but how can she explain herself without people being more suspicious? But she is interrupted when her stylists stop fixing her. When she looks up she notices all of them glaring at the pair. Suddenly, she sees Stylist Im grab a comb and walk towards the staff members.

“Are you here to work or to gossip?” she confronts them while pointing with the comb, “If I knew all production assistants do is sit and chat to get paid I would have become one instead.” 

Both the production assistants look at each other as they stammer. One of them even raises their voice to defend themselves but Stylist Im smacks them with a comb.

“Ouch! I can get you in trouble for that!” they threaten and Stylist Im laughs.

“You think I am threatened? I might be a mere make-up artist to you, but I didn’t survive 12 years in this industry by letting kids like you be disrespectful. I am your coworker as much as Hana is, thus if you had any decency you two wouldn’t be making such comments. Either leave now or I will get you two in trouble,” she barks at them and both straighten themselves as they leave.

Hana bites her leaves as she watches Stylist Im come back looking like she came back from war. Stylist Oh and Stylist Kwon applaud her as they share how much they also wanted to straighten the production assistants.

“Stylist Im, thank you. But you could have gotten in trouble,” she reminds her, but her stylist only smiles.

“Hana-yah, you’re like a little sister like me. I cannot let others talk about you like that. I might not know everything that is going on, but I know you have your reasons. You’re a good person,” Stylist Im reassures her and Hana nods.

“Thanks, eoni,” she hugs her.

“My birthday is coming, do you have anything planned?” Manager Kim asks with a smirk but Jaehyun rolls his eyes.

“No, I don’t. If you want to celebrate go back to Seoul with your family,” Jaehyun responds as he walks to his dressing room.

“I don’t think you want people to see how you treat your manager,” he warns him making Jaehyun laugh.

“And I’m sure you don’t want people to know how much you don’t care about your actor either,” he opens the door to the dressing room and then closes it in Manager Kim’s face.

He sits down although the stylists haven’t arrived. While he waits he grabs his phone and starts playing games. The door opens and he hears Stylist Seo talking to someone outside without realizing he’s inside waiting. When he hears Hana’s name being mentioned he stops and remains quiet.

“Of course, I saw how she ignored Jaehyun yesterday. So unprofessional of her. I don’t care if she’s considered an A-lister now, he’s her sunbae. I even heard she thinks she’s too good for Jaehyun. She didn’t even want him in the drama.  Seriously, such an entitled b-” She almost kept going until Jaehyun finally stood up and cleared his throat. 

“Oh, go on. If you’re going to screw you better go all for it,” he crosses his arms and Stylist Seo blushes as the staff member she was talking to leaves, “I made myself clear when I told you not to spread more rumors. I also said there won’t be third chances.”

“Jaehyun-ssi, please, I-” she rushes to him and bows down, “it’s not my fault. I didn’t start the rumors. Everyone is suspicious of her. You can’t blame us. She’s so cold towards you for no reason.”

Angry at this, he leaves his dressing room as he ignores Stylist Seo following him and calling out to him. He reaches the set where most of the staff is already waiting. Some of them look at him confused when they notice he’s still in his regular clothes and his stylist following. He keeps going, not even noticing that Manager Kim has started calling for him. Once he reaches Director Kim he stops and the latter looks at him delighted but confused. 

“Oh, Jaehyun-ssi! Why are you here? You’re still in your regular clothes,” he points out and Jaehyun nods.

“Can I please say something to the crew? Something important came to my notice,” he explains and Director Kim nods right away. 

“Of course, I don’t mind my actors being outspoken. Go on,” he permits him although still looking confused.

Jaehyun clears his throat and looks at the rest of the crew, even noticing Stylist Seo whispering at Manager Kim. As his expression changes, Jaehyun starts to speak before he’s interrupted

“Whoever started to spread rumors about Park Hana and I better stop. Hana is one of the most professional actresses I have worked with. We have all been working with Hana for months, filming for a few weeks. Y’all should know better. I see how she treats everyone here and I am disappointed this is how you talk behind her back. Just because I am her sunbae and she’s not sucking up to me shouldn’t give anyone permission to say whatever they want. We’re not friends, of course, we won’t be spending time chit-chatting after scenes. So please stop if y’all don’t want me to complain again,” he demands and the crew looks at him in shock, he looks to his side to find Director Kim’s face morphing from shock to anger. He thinks for a second he is going to get yelled at until he sees him look back at the crew.

“I must have been slacking on my duties, because if I had known of this behavior I would have put a stop to it. Some of you have worked with Hana before, Jaehyun is right, you should know better. This is a place to work, not spread rumors like school bullies. It better be the last time something like this has to come to my attention,” Director Kim glares at everyone and then looks back at Jaehyun, “Thank you, Jaehyun-ssi. I have great respect for Hana and I hate to know this is how everyone is treating her behind my back.”

“No worries, sir. I also hate hearing others badmouth my coworkers. I’ll be sure to notify you if something like this ever happens again,” he promises as he bows in respect, “I’ll be heading to my dressing room. Sorry for delaying production.”

After Director Kim tells him to never apologize about it, he starts to walk back to his dressing room. However, he soon notices Donghyuck and Hana have been looking at him. Once Hana realizes he has noticed her she walks away and Jaehyun sighs. He isn’t expecting anything from her, but he wishes she could see he’s being genuine. A scoff is heard from his side and he looks to find Donghyuck rolling his eyes at him.

“Not amount of pretending to care will bring her back,” Donghyuck promises, and Jaehyun looks at his old friend in sadness.

“I’m not pretending to care, Donghyuck,” he admits but Donghyuck glares at him.

“If you truly cared for Hana you wouldn’t have broken our trust,” he sneers, “And don’t ever call me by that name. I’m not your friend anymore.”

“Look, Dong-Haechan,” he holds Donghyyck’s shoulder before he can walk away, “I know I broke your and Hana’s trust, but I am being honest. It’s my fault people are badmouthing her. They have no idea she should be treating me worse than what I’m getting. I don’t expect her to come back by acting nice, I don’t want her to because she deserves better.” 

“At least you know your place, keep it that way,” Donghyuck pushes his hand away and Jaehyun takes a deep breath as he holds back his tears.

Not only did he lose Hana, but a best friend. Why did he let it come to this?

If Jaehyun didn’t know how delusional and greedy his manager is, he would have been surprised right now, but he’s certainly not. After making it clear he had no plans for celebrating Manager Kim’s birthday, he found out the man had reserved a place and told everyone Jaehyun planned it. He wasn’t pleased when he found out the day before and had to go out and try to find a gift. However, not caring at all, he just got an envelope and put some cash on it. At least it was something, right?

While for Donghyuck’s birthday, they went to a family-owned Korean restaurant in Allston, that seemed to be too low for Manager Kim. Instead, today they were close to Downtown Boston in a fancy Japanese restaurant. When they entered, Jaehyun realized Manager Kim must have planned this before they came to Boston. There is no way he could have reserved a place like this in less than a week. Not only that, but he probably paid good money since he reserved the entire place for most of the crew. 

Once the event started, Jaehyun gave the envelope to Manager Kim and then sat far away from him. Some people looked at him surprised, since after that he never addressed his manager again. Instead, he sat next to Director Kim with whom he talked for most of the night. After the incident two days ago, Jaehyung has come to trust and respect the older man even more. The two of them had made sure no more rumors were flying around, even getting the help of Head Producer Park and Producer Lee. To be honest, he is glad they haven’t asked him why he was so adamant about protecting Hana.

As the night went on, it became clear Jaehyun wasn’t the only one who didn’t want to be there. A few tables down, Hana, Donghyuck, and Manager Jeon were sitting and not talking much. Naomi and Justin were not invited for unknown reasons, but Hana has her suspicions. She had only met Manager Kim twice before the drama and all were when she was still dating Jaehyun. None of the instances were pleasant as he always went out of his way to point out how much he disliked Hana. There also seemed to be bad blood between him and Manager Jeon. Thus, when they arrived at the restaurant only Hana said ‘Happy birthday’ to the man. Albeit lacking any warmth whatsoever.

She always knew Jaehyun never liked him either, they used to get into disagreement quite easily. However, even she was surprised when she noticed Jaehyun had kept his distance from the man all night. From the moment Manager Kim invited everyone to his birthday party, she knew he was lying when he insisted it was Jaehyun’s idea. But she didn’t know how much their relationship had worsened over the years. A part of her wants to know what happened between those two, but another reminds her Jaehyun is no longer someone important in her life for her to care about. Thus, she focused on enjoying the expensive food and this boring night.

However, Hana couldn’t keep the facade for much longer. Once she noticed everyone gathering she realized it was time to sing Happy Birthday. It might be childish of her, but she’s not standing around with those people and pretending to wish well to the one person who hoped for her career’s downfall. Thus, she stood up and left the building for a breath of fresh air. Not like she was gonna get any. The restaurant was on a narrow street southwest of South Station. The only thing in front of her was an even taller building that seemed to sell office furniture, not too far from her she could see a Dunkin’s. There was something about it so weirdly Boston it made her chuckle. 

“What are you laughing at, weirdo?” she hears Donghyuck from behind her making her jump a little.

“Nothing important, I just thought of something stupid,” she shakes her head but then looks at her friend, “But why are you here?”

“You thought I would want to waste my amazing talents on that classist asshole? If he wants me to sing for him he better pay me,” Donghyuck mouths and she rolls her eyes.

“I’m actually surprised Manager Jeon hasn’t followed you, I feel like they hate him the most out of the three of us,” she points out and Donghyuck shrugs.

“They seemed to be enjoying the food too much to care,” he informs her, “But I did see Jaehyun leave for the bathroom. I guess not even his actor can stand his ass.”

Hana nods, not knowing what to say. She wants to say she does not care, but she cannot deny the small bit of worry creeping at her. 

“About Jaehyun, I guess he meant it when he said he wanted to keep people from spreading rumors. I heard him talk to the producers and some people won’t be part of the Seoul crew after the things they said about you and Jaehyun,” Donghyuck notifies her and Hana looks out at the distance. 

“And what about it?” it’s all she says. 

“I am just warning you, don’t be fooled by his character. We know what he did last time,” he whispers in case someone else comes out, Hana stops and looks at her friend. She knows he means well, but that doesn’t mean she has to like his tone.

“I’m not a child, Donghyuck. Just because I fell for him once doesn’t mean you have to talk to me like I wouldn’t know better this time,” she makes her displeasure known, “I won’t give him a second chance. I’m not stupid.”

Hana doesn’t know what to expect when Screenwriter Ahn asks to meet up with her and Jaehyun. Perhaps some thanks for what they have done so far, or some basic lines she wanted to add. Never in a million years, she would have expected what have just come out of Screenwriter Ahn’s mouth.

“I was thinking we should have a kiss scene,” she grins and both Jaehyun and Hana jump out of their seats.

“A kiss?!” they both yell out and then look at each other taken back. Hana then straightens herself and clears her throat.

“I mean… we haven’t even started filming the main story. Why a kiss?” she tries to reason and Screenwriter waves both her hands in dismissal.

“It doesn’t matter. You’re playing exes and we’re getting a glimpse of your past relationship. Not only what tore you apart but the beautiful parts of the relationship, that way it is easier for the viewers to understand why there would still be feelings present after so long. Besides, after seeing you two act together I realized you two look good together, more than I expected. Your screen chemistry is so great. A kiss scene would just cement that even more,” she beams and Hana shakes her head before she can stop herself.

“I-I don’t know… I’m not so sure,” Hana stutters trying to find a way to protest this without bringing suspicion toward her.

“What Hana is trying to say is that we’re still not comfortable around each other for such scenes. We never even prepared for a possible kiss scene since we were told that would only happen when we start filming in Seoul. Is the scene necessary?” Jaehyun argues surprising Hana, he must have ulterior motives, right?

“Could have fooled us,” Director Kim chuckles, “We all think it’s a great idea. You two are professionals, I’m sure you will pull it off.”

Everyone starts to nod in agreement and Hana sighs. Seeing how everyone agreed Director Kim and Screenwriter Park approve of the scene. There is nothing else they can do. Director Kim tries to suggest when to squeeze the scene in since they only have two weeks of filming. With this Hana gets an idea, she might not be able to stop it, but she might be able to delay it as much as possible.

“We can leave it for the last day of filming,” Hana suggests and all eyes are set on her, “It’s nice to hear we’re great actors, but Jaehyun and I are being honest. We still need a bit more time to get used to each other. Two weeks should be enough, right?”

Director Kim and both producers start to talk between the three of them and then Screenwriter Ahn joins. Hana worries about the outcome, there is no way they will suggest filming the scene immediately, right? It’s still not officially added and they were notified about it only 30 minutes ago.

“Well,” Head Producer looks at Hana and Jaehyun, “Looking at our filming schedule the last day of filming seems to be the only day we have space anyways. Screenwriter Ahn also has to finish writing the scene. Just make sure to work with each other. The scene is already approved.”

Both Hana and Jaehyun nod, but none of them are at peace. They weren’t prepared for this. Hana tries to relax, reminding herself she was going to have to kiss Jaehyun sooner than later anyways. She’s a professional, she can and will do this.

However, a small voice in her head, a tiny voice she does not want to acknowledge keeps going. 

Why is this bothering so much if she insists she has moved on? There is no way she still has feelings for Jaehyun, right?

A/N: Chapter 5 should be posted sometime in September. After that, ACT I should be done. I want to keep posting at least one chapter a month, but let's see if it will be possible.

I keep seeing the same confessions on here that basically boil down to "You think YOU have it bad? well actually WE have it worse!!! WE are ACTUALLY OPPRESSED by people like YOU" and i think that these posts, while obviously fueled by strong emotions of feeling as if they are being ignored or erased, are missing the bigger picture of us all being oppressed from many different angles. For example: Sex/Romance repulsed aros and aces are facing intense mistreatment from allo people. They get called sex negative and freaks and are told "everyone likes sex/romance" "You're a heartless monster if you don't love!" "you'll find the right person who will fix you" "it sounds like a medical disorder" and a plethera of sexist, ableist, and other such things. This caused Repulsed aro and aces to separate themselves. They begin to actively show hatred for these things besides repulsion because they are constantly being forced upon them and told they are wrong. which then leads to the idea that anyone who doesn't feel this way is actively against them and part of the group that's hurting them. This of course isn't the case but this leads into the problem that Sex/romance favorable (not positive. Positive/negative and favorable/repulsed are two separate things) have within the community, which is being told they aren't actually ace or aro for being favorable/wanting romance and sex. Now this is very obviously wrong. it pushes actual ace and aro people out of their own community and isolates them. It doesn't help that this can also be used against them in terms of allos using them as a talking point and excuse to erase aromantic and asexual characters by completely misunderstanding sex/romance favorable and identities that have the chance of feeling sexual/romantic attraction (such as Grey or Demi) and this isn't a fault of these identities but it is often attributed to them and they are made to be "part of the problem" when they themselves are the ones facing the same problem as everyone else in the community, which is erasure and their identities not being taken seriously.

Idk i think there's a larger conversation to be had here about how a specific oppression of one part of the community had lad to a wider oppression coming from within the community against it's own memebers when in reality the ones who are really causing all the problems are the amatonormative allo society that doesn't care about any part of our community in the grand scheme of things. And yes, both groups should be allowed to express how their specific mistreatment hurts them and the figuration with that but attacking one part isn't going to make allos take anyone more seriously.

sorry this is long I've just seen an influx of submissions to this account that are like this and I think everyone needs to slow down, take a deep breath, and just think about why such infighting is happening before joining in on it. The truth is we are all facing the same oppression, no one group is the cause of said oppression, we are all just being hurt in different ways and we should help each other rather than add to that hurt.

A/N: This is in no way designed to start an argument about bottle v breast feeing. The main problem here is Riley, as the mother, getting her wishes ran over.

The ask: Riley and Liam marry. Connie dies... But Regina who has been so supportive till now starts playing double game with Riley. Riley tries to tell Liam. He doesn't understand. Creates lot of misunderstanding between them leading to the fallout. How do they fix it?

Riley had always gotten along with Regina, but something changed after Constantine died. Regina grieved for a while, as was expected. So, Riley let a lot of the barbs and snide comments slide, chalking it up to grief. It got worse when she got pregnant. And as her belly grew bigger, the barbs got deeper.

“Are you sure you should be eating that my dear?”

Riley paused, sandwich halfway to her mouth and blinked at her mother in law, “What?”

“I mean, is that pastrami?” Regina shuddered a little, “Maybe I can have the kitchen make you a nice salad.”

Regina flagged down one of the maids as Riley protested, “N-no, thanks. The baby needs the protein.”

Regina tsked, “My dear, I’m just trying to help! You’ve gained so much weight! I mean, really, is that any way to keep the eye of a king? I never let my figure go, not in all the years Constantine and I were together.”

Riley sat the sandwich on her plate as she stared at the older woman in shock, “Regina, I’m pregnant!”

“That’s really no excuse to let yourself go, is it?”

Riley’s hand went protectively to her belly, “First of all, I have preeclampsia and half of the weight I’ve gained is retained water! Second of all, my doctor was concerned that I wasn’t gaining enough weight in the first trimester because of how bad my morning sickness was! Third, Liam is a loving and devoted husband, and your insinuation is just gross! And fourth, seriously, weight shaming, especially a pregnant woman, is just…just….”

“What’s going on?” Liam asked as he entered the room.

“I was just having a snack and Regina started trying to body shame me about my weight!”

“What?” Liam looked at Regina then back to Riley in confusion.

“Oh, dear, no. I was just giving her some tips on healthy eating. I only want the best for the baby, after all!”

“No, that’s not-“

“It’s ok, dear,” Regina patted her arm on her way out of the room, “It’s the pregnancy hormones that make you overly sensitive!”

“Liam! She was being horrible! You believe me, right?”

Liam looked at his wife sympathetically, “Of course I believe that she hurt your feelings! But I’m sure she didn’t mean to! She can be…brusque from her years of ruling.”

“Yes, but her suggestions weren’t even right! She criticized my food choices and said I was letting myself go!”

“She doesn’t understand, she never experienced pregnancy herself. We’ll get her some literature about healthy eating during pregnancy if you want.”

She looked up at him and he was so sincere, she decided to let it go. Maybe he was right. Regina was trying to be involved, right? But shouldn’t a former queen have more tact? Riley couldn’t push away the feeling that she’d been cruel on purpose.

“Hey.” Liam sat down and pulled her into his arms, “How about I have the kitchen make you a chocolate milkshake? You love those! And it’s full of protein! Then maybe we can sneak off to our room for a midafternoon rendezvous? Hmmm?”

She giggled as his nose nuzzled into her neck, letting go of her ire. It would be okay.

But it wasn’t. It only got worse after the birth of the baby.

Riley returned from the hospital to find their apartment inside the palace had been redecorated, with hideous paintings that looked like they had been molding in the attic for years.

Regina was waiting for them when they entered the living room, “Welcome home!”

“What the hell happened in here?” Riley asked.

“Oh, I wanted to surprise you!”

“But…where is my stuff?” Riley had worked hard to decorate the apartment, to make it feel like home, a true retreat for their family, a place to get away from the palace and the demands of public life.

“Oh, it’s in storage, but I’m going to have it hauled away. It was so tacky, don’t you think? You’re a mother now, you need to think about the fact that you’re raising the heir! These portraits are our history! You won’t be able to teach her what she needs to know because you aren’t from here, so I thought this would be a good start!”

“Liam!”

Liam embraced her, “Here, let’s get you settled in. We can sort this out later.”

“The bedroom, Liam, I want to go to the bedroom.” She was shaking with anger, no way she could sit in that living room while Regina was still in it.

“She meant well.” Liam told her.

“No, she didn’t. Get rid of her and get rid of that shit on my walls! I want my decorations back, Liam, the ones you and I picked together!”

“Of course, love.”

“And you need to tell her to stop overstepping boundaries!”

“I think she just wants to be involved. She’s still grieving my father, she never had children of her own, Leo is gone, we’re all she has.”

“She has Madeleine and Adelaide!” Riley fumed, “Let her go stay in Krona!”

“Riley! We can’t send her away! We’re her family!”

Once again, Riley was forced to let it go.

But the final straw came when Riley woke from a nap to find Regina feeding the two month old crown princess of Cordonia from a bottle.

“I thought we were out of expressed milk.” Riley said.

Regina rolled her eyes, “Oh dear, I don’t think she’s gaining enough weight on your milk. You’re too sickly and weak, you’re not strong like a Cordonian woman. I sent the butler out for some formula.”

“What?! No! You know that we’re exclusively breastfeeding!” Riley felt tears prick her eyes.

“Well, that’s your mistake dear. It’s why she’s not sleeping through the night. She needs something more substantial in her stomach.”

Riley’s eyes tracked across the counter, landing on a box of baby rice cereal, “Did you put cereal in that bottle?”

“Just a tablespoonful. You can thank me when she sleeps through the night.”

“Get out!”

“What?”

“Put my baby down and Get. Out. NOW!” Riley roared.

Regina jumped, Ellie started to cry.

“See what you’ve done, you selfish little bitch?” Regina hissed, “All you care about is yourself! That’s why you came between Liam and his father at the end of his life! My husband was dying but did you care? No! All you cared about was casting him as the bad guy to clear your own name so you could manipulate Liam into marrying you!”

“What?”

“You heard me! You came in here with all your American ideas and modern values and seduced him with sex and inappropriate behavior! You’re not fit for the throne, and you’re not fit for my son! He’ll see that soon and send you packing back to America!”

Riley couldn’t stop the hot, angry tears streaming down her face as she stumbled to the door and yanked it open, “Marco!”

“Yes, Your Majesty?” The young guard looked tentatively back and forth between the women.

“I want her to put my daughter down then I want her out of my sight, and I never want her back in here! I don’t care if you have to lock her in the cells to do it!”

Marco took in the sight in front of him and resolve washed over his face as he moved toward the queen mother. He knew who he worked for, and it wasn’t Regina.

“No need to be so dramatic.” Regina handed the baby to the nanny who had come running at the sound of crying. “I’ll go. But Liam will be hearing about this!”

After Regina was escorted out, Riley took her baby from the nanny, kissing the top of her head as she gently rocked her, “It’s ok, it’s ok, baby, momma’s so sorry she yelled.”

“It’s not your fault, Callie.” Riley sniffed, “Just, go get Marco for me, okay?” 

Callie left the room and returned with Marco. The young guard asked, “Is there something else I can do for you, Your Majesty?”

“Yes, Your Majesty.” Marco replied as he backed out of the room to do her bidding.

As soon as he could get free, the king responded to his wife’s summons.

Liam walked into mass chaos.

Riley’s breasts ached; Ellie wouldn’t latch on. Riley’s breasts were so full she couldn’t get the pump to form a seal so there was no relief to be found there. Ellie was screaming because her tummy hurt, she was pulling her little legs up, grunting in an effort to poop. The royal doctor had just left, saying Ellie was constipated from the cereal and to try a little apple juice in a bottle, but diluted because her digestive system really wasn’t ready for that either. Riley was leaking milk from both sides and crying from pain, frustration and anger. Her face was red and streaked with tears, the front of her shirt was soaked as rivulets of milk ran from both breasts.

There were two maids scurrying around the apartment and three butlers carrying luggage and baby items from the bedroom and nursery out the door.

Even the nanny was crying.

“What the hell is going on?” Liam exploded.

Riley wiped her face on her sleeve and stood, “What’s happening is that Regina did it again, Liam, only a thousand times worse and I already know that you’re going to excuse her behavior no matter what I say! Even though I have witnesses!” She swung her arm in the nanny’s direction.

“Why are the butlers taking luggage and baby equipment out of here?” He demanded as his head turned to track their activities.

“Ellie and I are going to stay at Valtoria.” Riley said sorrowfully.

“For how long?” He yelled.

“Forever.” She replied quietly, her voice rising steadily as she spoke, “You dismiss all my concerns when it comes to Regina! You don’t listen, you don’t believe me that what she does is intentionally mean! I can’t take it anymore! I won’t put my child through it!”

“Wait.” Liam’s face paled, “You’re…you’re leaving me?”

“Yes. I love you, Liam, desperately. You are welcome at Valtoria anytime, but I can’t and won’t spend one more night under the same roof as Regina.”

Desperation laced his words, “Riley, no! You can’t leave me!”

“You can just spin it as me wanting some alone time with the baby. I’m sure the PR department will come up with something believable, so your public image isn’t tarnished.”

Liam’s mouth fell open, “You think I’m worried about my public image?”

She wiped at her face again, “Aren’t you?”

“No!” He grabbed her by the shoulders, “I’m worried about losing my wife! I love you, Riley, with everything in me! I can’t live without you! I don’t want any of this without you! I’ll abdicate right now and fuck Cordonia all to hell!”

“Liam, you can’t abdicate, that’s crazy talk!”

He slid down to his knees, right in front of the staff, taking her hand in his, “Please don’t do this!”

“I don’t want to!” Fresh tears fell down her face, “But I don’t know what else to do!”

His features hardened as he rose to his feet, “I do.”

Liam raised his voice, “Everyone stop! Alec! Marco! Get in here!”

All activity ceased as the king barked orders, “Put everything back where you found it! The queen is not leaving, my daughter is not leaving!”

He watched as the staff scurried around, carrying luggage and baby items back into the bedroom and nursery, then he turned to the two guards he had summoned, “Go find Regina, and escort her from the premises.”

“Your Majesty?”

“You heard me. Take her to Krona, or wherever she wants to go, but she can’t stay here. We’ll send her things later, wherever she ends up. Go! Now!”

The guards jumped and hurried out the door to carry out their orders.

“Aren’t you going to ask me what she did?”

“Doesn’t matter.” He took her in his arms again, “You wouldn’t be this upset for nothing. I’m sorry I didn’t listen before, didn’t take it seriously. I need you to know that no one is more important to me than you and our family. Okay?”

She smiled through her tears as she nodded, “Okay.”

“I love you, Riley Rys, you’re my life, my heart! Can you ever forgive me?”

“I forgive you, Liam! You were just trying to be a good son.”

“I’d rather be a good husband, and a good father. I know where my priorities are.”

She collapsed into his arms and cried tears of relief.

Riley never saw Regina again and she lived happily ever after.

Ok. I’ll be nice to people and put the Schizo & Chihuahueño trauma-bonding-projection-comfort-love rant under a cut.

Maybe one of the reasons I like Chihuahuas is because of their misunderstood personified nature along with how often they’re abandoned, euthanized(only dog breed euthanized more is the American Pit Bull Terrier), and mocked reminds me of growing up being paranoid and how people think that they understand it once they read or are told about it yet usually fail to recognize and react mercifully to paranoia when it happens.

Chihuahuas are used as symbolism for anxiety once personified; their homeostasis requires a lot of trembling that we associate with fear, they’re tiny predators from a vast territory that’s dangerous to their proneness for dehydration and that’s always been full of stronger predators, they have to be more vigilant and better at hiding, they’re always on guard and guarding their supplies.

Chihuahua traits are then further misunderstood from a mixture of willful ignorance and genuine human inability to comprehend what they’re seeing. They’re treated without their needs met(can’t say most of them are “raised”)and often punished or forcefully have their boundaries removed consistently when they shouldn’t be, leading to them being “bad dogs”. Because they’re going to stress out and become unstable if they don’t feel safe and secure.

Because the smallest breed accepted into the kennel club association is scared from seeing the world as that large and powerful then hardly has it’s emotional needs met from owners refusing to try to get onto their level, viewing it as a behavioral problem when a pet Chi has strict boundaries or guarding, the bigger issue personification and devaluation of their species happens:

Chihuahuas have bodies shorter than 1ft that can easily sneak and hide where we can’t reach or see, legs that are perfect for them to outmaneuver or charge, and they have canines. While they’re more sensitive to fight/flight-mode so the reason may have different context overall,….a Chihuahua will use those canines just like any other dog, except they jump immediately to kill intent because they aren’t blessed to have the safety of anything lesser dished out.

It’s scary when it’s a Chihuahua because their sense of perceived threat is so large that their charges are desperate. That Chihuahua darted from under the chair his owner was in while snarling at you and snapping his teeth at whatever comes in contact with him like a mad dog because you stepped near his owner and his territory, and he isn’t sure if you’re going to hurt them.

Unlike a larger dog, a Chihuahua is both a predator and a prey animal, a Chi can’t take the chances of letting someone it doesn’t know for fact is safe closer to him or his loved one because to a Chihuahua, being touched by someone they haven’t decided to be loyal to is the same as letting themselves be killed. & unfortunately, people have been proving this irrational fear of theirs kinda true to them by reacting without sympathy or with focus only on their own hurt or disappointment as the human in charge. ♻️ A cycle worsens!

So Chihuahuas are abandoned, killed, then mocked and hated widespread using the very misunderstanding that hurts them and whoever they attack to justify that mistreatment.

Are Chihuahuas bad dogs or little dogs that are born into a big world that doesn’t understand or show patience and grace about it being much more dangerous for them to exist than the larger predators; including their families of humans, cats, and other dogs?

Did my Chihuahua know from senses and instincts that she was the same species as my Border Collie? Did she view herself as a weak and small, scolded failure that should have been like my Border Collie? Do human beliefs and mockeries ever reach them and affect them? Do the Chihuahuas and other “sassy” little dogs that hang around my work know that the 100+lbs dogs everyone fawns over, frolicking with no worries in the world, that keep naively trying to play with them by getting in their face by force are the same species?

Do people remember that they’re the same species and take that into account, how variable one species of mammal can be?

I almost hope to God and all that’s good in the world that people are somehow, despite contradictory evidence and testimony, correct when they hate on Chihuahuas.

I don’t want to think that the dog who grew up with me could have felt confused or wrong by the literal fact that she wasn’t my Border Collie and couldn’t do anything to assert her boundaries in a house with a Collie, multiple cats, and 4 humans.

I hope Chi’s lack the ability to feel alienation, self awareness of their size, comparison to others, injustice, senses to notice the hormones and weird familiarity of other dogs, and love— I really hope it’s true for their sake that they don’t feel that. They’re just bad dogs. It would be a less ugly story if that were true. People wouldn’t have to be uncomfortable with their actions or take responsibility for how they raise and care for vulnerable creatures if that were true.

But I know it’s not fully true, and I know my first 2 dogs were especially important to me and meant a lot to me for comfort because I noticed parallels with how people kept making “jokes” about them while claiming to love them, and how they treated a sick child who had never felt human enough like others, always dehumanized, but still always expected to act like a normal and “good” child, like good kids, normal, like your good sister, like your sister who wasn’t psychologically built all weird and fucked up like you:). psychologically different when it suits them, violent and cruel and unpredictably dangerous as a choice when it suits them, an annoying and pathetic joke with no worth when it suites them, full of potential and fun quirks when it suits them, but why in the world does it become more unpredictable with time treated as a weird, outcasted, “kinda”-animal? Maybe because you’re not treating Chihuahuas with the same basic respect for other dogs. Maybe because you never treated me with the same basic respect as other kids?

I always felt comfort of knowing that, even though Tito and Coco were dogs and didn’t understand the reasoning and senses of humans, even if they didn’t understand that their world was different yet based on the same expectations and needs as large dogs, they were still experiencing a similar mistreatment born out of ignorance and refusal to let go of ignorance and denial in favor of human pride, avoidance of responsibility, convenience/laziness, or fear of admitting to past mistakes/regrets. Or maybe you’re an asshole.

How The Brothers Found Out Evie Has ADHD

So, something to establish really quick is that Evie has ADHD. She’s medicated for it (with the only reason her aunt letting this happen was to keep her under control, obviously that didn’t work out as she expected). And after talking about this, I came to a certain thought.

Evie would eventually run out of her medication sometime during Season 1. Not sure when, probably shortly after things have calmed down after the attic/prison break and all that. I know that the refills can last either 30 days (like mine) or 90 days, so I'm gonna go with the latter on this. Evie is not sure what to do since she's still trying to unlearn certain habits and behaviors, such as not asking for things when you need them. So she keeps quiet about it and hopes that it's not as difficult as she expected to go off of them. 

Unfortunately, it's harder for her to deal with it than she would like. And she lies and says that she's fine when she can't sit still worse than usual, grades start to drop and everything's bouncing around in her head from one thing to another worse that it had before to the point where it’s hard to think clearly for her. It starts to worry some of the boys because they had never seen her act like this. The only one who really knows why she's acting like this about is Barbatos, who is working on a solution when he brings it up to Diavolo. Solomon has his suspicions but doesn't act on them. 

It's not until Evie has bitten a certain someone that Lucifer thinks to look into it. Barbatos was already working on finding a suitable substitute since going through all the proper channels in the human world would be difficult all things considered. It takes a little while, but they find the right combination that has the same effects as what Evie usually takes.

She does get confronted about it when Lucifer drops it off in her room. Evie’s just trying her best not to say why she didn’t say anything, but with their height difference, Lucifer most likely had the bottle/bag that the bottle was in held up over her head until he got an answer out of her. Evie, not wanting to say jack is just jumping up to try and get it. But Evie is 5'0. Lucifer is at least a good foot taller than her depending on what you headcanon his height as, but for me it's normally 6'1 so it's not working and Evie's just getting frustrated with him over this. And that's how it does come up that she didn’t want to bother anyone about her own problems. But she made a bigger problem by keeping quiet. She gets lectured over this and reminded that yes, she can ask for what she needs if she needs it. It’s quite a soft moment, all things considered.

Meanwhile, the only reason the rest of the brothers find out what happened and what's going on is because Evie has the unfortunate self-inserted habit of calling her medication "drugs". Which lead to a huge misunderstanding that was quickly sorted out.

A way too long analysis of the game design of OW2

I have been playing a ton of OW2 recently, and while i love the game, i have been noticing a problem with the game design. Basically, i think the way the game is deigned encourages players to play very individually and not as a team. Essentially i realized that a lot of players will try to blame a lost game on one or two players, usually saying something like “healer diff” or “dps diff”, this seems to demonstrate a bit of misunderstanding about how the game works. Lets take the support role as an example since that is what i main, when you press tab it is pretty easy to think “well my teams supports did less healing than the enemy teams healers, therefore they are worse” however this simplifies a pretty complex game situation down to just a set of numbers, but those numbers don’t take certain things into account. Mainly the teamwork, the amount of Hanzo and Genji mains i have played with who will go so far away from the team that the healer has no chance of healing them, and then complain that they don’t receive healing is higher than i can count, but there are also a lot of players who will just do nothing to protect their healers and then wonder why they keep dying. Now are these people dumb / annoying? Yes, very much, but i don’t think that’s the whole story, i think the game is designed in a way that encourages them to think that way. First of all, like i said the teamfights and the role each member plays within them is really complex, so it makes sense why people boil those things down to numbers / the actions of individual players while removing those actions from a bigger context, it makes it easier to analyze the team fight, but this simplification leads to a lot of mistakes in said analysis. See in OW2 every class plays a specific role, the tank protects the squishes through drawing aggro or mitigating damage through shields, and will usually have some utility / CC, the dps does damage and is meant to take out high priority targets and the support enables the other roles through attack boosting and healing, essentially every role is small gear in a larger machine and the team only works when everyone plays their part and plays them in a way that works together. But, if every role is important and impactful in it’s own way, why does the far majority play only dps, to the point where Blizzard has to add special incentives to play support, that still don’t fix the issue? Because the game is designed in such a way as to make the dps the most interesting role. Now this is not a problem unique to OW2, personally i tend to think of the OW series as FPS games mixed with Mobas, and many mobas have that exact same problem. People like to feel like the main character, they want to feel cool and powerful, and a character designed around helping others do cool things just doesn’t give that feeling. This is also why many of the most popular tanks are very self sufficient, i’m talking people like D.VA or Zarya. D.VA is a dive tank with high offensive pressure and she can in her mecha-less form play almost like a dps hero to stay alive untill she gets her mech back. Zarya can shield herself or an ally, and do insane damage. The thing is these heroes are meant to be played with the team in mind, D.VA is as offensive as she is, because that allows her to enable pushes, and force the enemy team to focus her down, thus helping her team, but why would you do that when you can just try to 1v1, or even 1v5 and get away with it decently. Or Zarya, yes you can bouble your team, but you could also bouble yourself allowing you to decimate the enemy team. However there is something unique to OW that motivates this behavior, and that is the way it’s rewards systems priviledge dps players. Have you noticed how the potg almost always goes to a dps hero, sometimes to a tank and basically never to a support? Well that is because of the same simplification that i described in the players earlier. See it is really hard for an ai, or even a person, to determine the impact a support hero has on the game state. Did the  Reinhardt manage to push through the entire enemy team because he was just so good, or was it because his Ana nanoboosted them at just the right time, while also getting anti heal on 2 or 3 enemies and sleep darting the enemy tank? It’s basically impossible to know, especially for an AI, but what it can know is numbers, numbers like damage done or enemies killed in a specific period of time, the things dps heroes are made for and a lot of tank heroes can also do, but the one thing dps heroes are designed not to do. And you can’t just tie it to the amount of healing done, because even if you heal a ton, that doesn’t always effect the game state if your team doesn’t manage to use it. There are also other privileges to playing dps or damage heavy heroes, for example many quests are related to your damage output in one way or another, and now that you cant get skins through loot boxes anymore you have to clear those weekly quests if you don,t wanna pay. But the core of the issue is that when the game tells you that the best play, the most impactful one is the one made by a single player without the context of their team, even if it is because it just can’t take that context into account, it teaches the player base to think in those same simplified ways. This is why the Hanzo main goes behind enemy lines where their healer can’t help them and then gets mad when they die, they have been taught by the game design to just play his role, do damage to the enemy, and that is what they are trying to do, but they haven’t been taught to think about the game in a higher context than that, about their teammates and from what positions their support can actually help them. Also when the game has so many way of privileging the dps players, is it any wonder they see themselves as the main characters of they game? That is basically how the game treats them after all.

Restorative Violence Vs Restorative Justice  and Cobra Kai

I think I’ve figured out why there is so much misunderstanding around the bullying issue and this show. And it is going to come down to where your position is in regards to restorative violence.

To start with, just let me say :  Bullying is a complex issue and a wicked problem.  I am speaking in general terms and there will always be exceptions to the rules, and this is an evolving area.  Also different countries have difference cultural views and different education systems have different models for handling these problems.

That said - Lets look at RESTORATIVE VIOLENCE

So restorative violence is the philosophy that if a kid bullies you, you punch them back harder and then they stop.  Fight Fire with Fire!  Meet violence with violence!   It is super popular advice with conservatives, Boomer Dads and Gen X dads. It’s also reinforced in a lot of modern pop culture (eg vigilante movies etc).

But does it work in practice.

Yes and No.

Here’s what it does:

Kid A is a grade A asshole and he is picking on kid B. Kid B eventually lashes out and beats Kid A. Kid A is now scared of Kid B and no longer picks on him.  Kid A’s problems and whatever was driving him to bully remains completely unresolved, so the impulse is still there + compounded by shame and anger at being beaten by Kid B.

The most likely result is that Kid A moves onto a new, seperate and weaker target Kid C.

Violence is a cycle and restorative Violence continues that cycle.

But it works in the short term, because Kid B is left alone. (Totally sucks for Kid C though, eh?)

This is why it is popular Dad Advice. Dad’s just want THEIR kid left alone, and it will accomplish that in the short term.

It does nothing to resolve bullying in the long term, perpetuates a cycle of violence and creates new victims while compounding the problems that lead Kid A to lash out  - but in the immediate short term it is effective.

We actually have a complete example of the cycle in the show.  Miguel and Kyler.  Kyler relentlessly bullies Miguel. Miguel learns martial arts from Johnny, (and Johnny’s a boomer Dad type who is very pro -restorative violence).  Miguel kicks the shit out of Kyler during lunch time. Boom - problem solved.

But was it?

Not really. Kyler still was and is, a bully.

Kyler learned nothing from this but to simmer in resentment for Miguel - and as soon as Miguel was physically disabled and a ‘weaker’ opponent again, Kyler brutally attacked him. 

Miguel beating Kyler up - that temporarily stopped Kyler beating him up  - because Restorative Violence is a narrow short term solution. 

Look at Aisha and Yasmine.

Aisha front wedgies the girl who has been bullying her. Yasmine backs off Aisha.  But when we next see Yasmine, she is still an absolute and total nightmare. Yasmine is afraid of Aisha, but has no remorse and has not changed her ways.

The front Wedgie doesn’t immediately make Yasmine not a bully, but her target shifts away from Aisha.

Look at Johnny -

Total asshole in high school.  He lost to Daniel and was then nearly murdered over losing a tournament. That showed him! He stopped picking on Daniel.   Ah, he was violent  - someone was even more violent to him - he stopped picking on  Daniel. In the narrow scope of restorative violence - this is success!

But was it?

I mean, for Daniel - Johnny left him alone after that, so yes?

But for Johnny... Johnny is a trauma riddled mess,  and when we meet him in season one, he is a huge fan of restorative violence, has nothing but unhealthy coping mechanisims, and still tries to solve every problem he has with violence.

What helps Johnny begin to break his harmful patterns?

 Meaningful emotional connections and external support and guidance.

Like in the Good Place  -

Now the thing about restorative violence?  - Educators HATE it.

(My god, boomer Dads - stop telling your kids to hit people).

Because Restorative Violence compounds bullying and creates and even bigger problem.  It might in the short term stop one kid from being bullied - but when you are looking at a whole class/ whole school context - you still have the same problem  with the added issue that Kid A is now most likely even more determined to prove that they are tough, and will most likely escalate against their new target.

Restorative Violence only works if you care about 1 kid and the short term. 

This is why some of the schools I have worked in have favoured a restorative justice approach.

Let’s look at RESTORATIVE JUSTICE

Restorative Justice, if you are unfamiliar, seeks to  deal with the root causes of bullying to stop it in the long term.  The goals are to Support and Nuture a bullied kid like Kid B, and create a safe space for them.

And

Attend to the root causes of Bullying displayed by Kid A, so that they can unlearn their patterns of behaviour and anti-bullying measures will have long term success. 

It would work like this:

(note: Please is this just an example off the top on my head, and I am in no way saying that all dyslexic people are bullies. it is merely to illustrate a concept that some of you may be unfamiliar with).

Kid A is a grade A asshole and he is picking on kid B.  Our starting point is still the same.  Kid B is supported, let’s run some anti-bullying seminars grade or school wide. Let’s protect them from their bully and move them into a different class if we have to. Let’s make sure they feel safe, and they understand that Kid A’s behaviour isn’t acceptable, and it is not their fault.  

Kid A - let’s look at Kid A. What is going on with them?  What is causing this behaviour.

Let’s say they’re in yr 3 - so they’ve reached the comprehension gap. (This is the point when the focus shifts from Learning to read and it becomes reading to learn.) Oh, they have undiagnosed Dyslexia. The sudden emphasis at comprehension was making them feel like a failure  - oh, that’s why they’ve been acting out so much, and they started picking on the ‘smart’ kid.

Okay, so let’s get them some small group work, let’s get them some reading solutions, let’s get them a support team and a behaviour plan. Let’s celebrate their success and build their confidence in other areas, so they no longer feel the need to assert themselves through bullying.

In this scenario, it is highly likely that Kid A’s behaviour will turn around,  and the thought to bully Kid C will never cross their minds.  - because the root causes have been tended to.

And We actually have a great example of this working in the show.

Let’s look at Tory.

Wow, Tory was awful to Sam.  (Stalking, Grevious Bodily Harm, giving her PTSD, breaking into her house).

Wow - Tory’s life is complete and utter shit.  Could her life/burdens/difficulties be a contributing factor in her behaviour?

yes!

And see this is something that Kreese cannot help Tory with. Krese believes in restorative violence.  (And look, full honesty here, but if Tory wasn’t in the yyper realtistic Cobra Kai world where no one presses charges, the most likely outcome for her following Kreese’s advice is juvie/jail time, and awful aunt/foster care for her brother).

Then Tory meets Amanda -

What does Amanda do?

Treat her like a person. Help her with groceries and bills. Gets her therapy and gets her back into school.  Her therapist arranges someone to help her with her mom. Tory’s burdens are lighter and her life is far less shit as a result of Amanda’s intervention.

And look at the change!

Tory goes from “There are no rules!”  in season 2, all the way to “It was an accident” and “I won’t cheat to win”.

Tory wants to fight Sam fairly, rather than win at all cost.  She tries to reach a hand out to her defeated opponent.

(Damn, I am so excited for where this storyline goes next. A women centric, complex storyline? in my Cobra Kai? love to see it).

Restorative justice works on the goal of getting the best outcome for everyone.  Through building support and meaningful emotional connections.

Does it work in practice?

yes and no.

in most cases, yes.  (there will always be a few exceptions to any rule),

But it takes time. it takes so much time, and patience and the result are unpredictable, and you need competent and capable adults.

(Note: This is why Sam should no be responsible for performing restorative justice on Tory. Sam is a kid who has been mercilessly attacked by her and should be protected and supported... The support for Tory had to come from an adult with her best interest at heart.)

ETA: Anyway, the difference in how fandom reacts to the kids doing bad stuff will depend where you sit on the Restorative Violence  ---- Restorative Justice spectrum of responses to bullied children. (We will always have a natural inclination to one or the other. Some people will immediately punish, and others will seek to understand).

People who are more inclined to like punishment solutions, or see punishment as The Point will probably like restorative violence. People who like long term solutions that improve the lives of both parties and see stopping bullying as The Point will gravitate towards Restorative justice. 

In Cobra Kai, some of us want to see the characters we see as the wrong-doers suffer, and some of us want to see most/all the characters grow and heal -and therein lies the difference.
