Daily Devotionals for April 12, 2023 Proverbs: God's Wisdom for the Day Devotional Scripture:

Proverbs 14:10-11(KJV): 10 The heart knoweth his bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy. 11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

Thought for the Day

Verse 10 - Every heart knows bitterness at times, spawning from sorrow or disappointment, as well as the joy that others cannot share. These emotions are common to all people, but harboring bitterness can destroy us. It is like spiritual cancer that eats away at the soul through unforgiveness. We are commanded to put away all bitter thoughts toward others and yield to God's spirit of love. Scripture is clear that if we want God to forgive our sins, we must forgive those who offend us, even those who would persecute or do evil against us. God only asks us to choose to decide to forgive. If we are willing to do this, He will supply us with the proper emotions and attitudes toward others. We can walk in the Spirit (in His love, forgiveness, and joy) if we ask Him to fill us with the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-26).

Verse 11 - The house of a wicked man shall fall, while the tabernacle (house) of the upright shall flourish. The influence of the wicked hurts those around him. When he falls, his house is also ruined. That is why Scripture admonishes us to choose mates, business partners, and friends carefully. If they are wicked, we will suffer by our association with them. If we make godly alliances, we will be blessed and prosper.

Marriage should be directed by the Holy Spirit. Young people should carefully seek the Lord concerning their future life partner. Many choose a mate based on emotions or lust, and later they suffer because their spouse lacks character. God's character defines what love is because He is love. 1 Corinthians 13 beautifully describes real love: it gives without expecting to receive, it is forgiving and patient, it is gentle and kind; it waits; it sacrifices. A Christian's love for another is based on commitment. Emotions should always follow, never direct, the decision-making process. Those who allow their unsanctified emotions to rule them cannot be victorious Christians because our emotions should be ruled by our spirit man, and not the other way around. God knows what is best for us. If we trust Him, He will not fail us regarding this or any other important decision.

The house of the righteous will flourish because Christ is Lord over their home. Most people are shocked at this statement! Naturally, we all have disagreed about things, but we knew the Lord at the start of our married life and learned the Biblical way to settle disagreements. When we disagree, we both seek the Lord. We ask Him to be our referee and show us who is right about the matter. Sometimes one and sometimes both of us are wrong, and sometimes the Lord has an entirely different solution to our problem. We simply ask God to show us His mind. He has never failed to show us what to do when our opinions differ. We thank God that He is the Lord of our house! Prayer Devotional for the Day

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the wonderful godly ladies that You have given us access to when crossing our paths over the years. We are most appreciative. Help us to be the loving supportive husbands that they want and need. Forgive us when we may fail to live up to the things that a Christian should exemplify. Lord, help us to be the persons we should be in all of our relationships with others. We thank you for a forgiving heart when we feel we have been wronged by anyone. Weird question, but between Brock and Jack who is more committed in a relationship? I know this is difficult to answer since I’m asking you to compare three different pairings in different stories (Brock/Addy in Echo, Jack/Ally in Echo, and Jack/Ally in Delta). Based on the very short scenes we got from the movies, I always felt like Brock and Jack are one of those guys who is not interested in serious relationships, like at all😂 But since reading your stories I can’t get the image of Brock who is so sweet with Addy (Echo), Jack who is cursed by regs but can’t stop loving Ally (Echo), and Jack who kept gaslighting Ally about how much he cares about her (Delta)……although Jack never got the chance to be with Ally in Echo, I feel like he would choose hydra over her, even if they got together? I think he is very different in that sense from Brock who basically did everything he could to keep her alive and safe (but he’s been fucking lying the entire time 🥰). But, Jack in Delta is sooo committed but would he choose her over his career if he had to make a choice? 🤔

Anyways, I’m curious about your thoughts and I miss Brock and Addy so much 🥹🥹🥹

Who is more committed in a relationship? Jack

I know, you wouldn’t think that at first, because Brock was all about taking down the establishment and whatnot for Addy…but remember, Jack is a man of principles. Excusing his deep cover assignment (bc hey, the man’s got bills to pay like we all do), he believes in being honest. Jack will weather all storms, as long as you don’t betray his trust. Respect and honor are not throw around words for him. When he finds someone he deems worthy of putting in the time for, he’s all in.

Before Addy, Brock was not a settle down guy. He doesn’t do long term (ex. see the on and off againing it with Evy). Underneath it all, his devotion to Addy is a bit about possessiveness. Yes, Brock loves that girl. But he knew he couldn’t keep Addy if she knew about HYDRA. His motivation for his wanting to change (and doing it) and exposing HYDRA was so that she wouldn’t leave him. For all that, Brock actually is more selfishly motivated than selflessly.

Funny you should have those other thoughts about Jack and his loyalty to HYDRA. There’s a part two to The Banker that never saw the light of day that had me thinking about it, many words down for an epilogue or alt ending of Echo that considered just that, and just many thoughts about the subject all together that no one really ever asked for. And I unfortunately won’t say here so that it doesn’t influence the way anyone reads Delta so they don’t guess at the ending or guess the whys for anything that may happen in Delta.

My thoughts are jumbled, so this missive to You...DPOne & maybe Alll tooo is probably gonna be disjointed.

Now that I've succumbed to staying awake it's hard to gather all the pieces to make any aense.

My eyes are swollen to slits, red nose, heart hasn't stopped hammering nor hurting.

My not being able to comprehend where I failed You DPOne... Alll?

Because...

Hello guys!! In honor of Valentine’s day here’s a part II of one of the posts you loved the most which is relationship observations. This one is pretty long which is what you guys preferred. Hope you like it!

💘 People with pisces ASC/moon/venus, Venus in the 12th and Neptune in the 7th or conjunct the ASC-DSC axis: it’s so SO easy to make them feel guilty. The type of people to easily feel like it’s their fault when others mistreat them and bc of this they could be more prone to attracting abusive people and narcissists

💘 Also, nobody talks about this and I understand why bc Neptune can be very tricky planet but I think it’s worth mentioning that Neptune is a very spiritual planet that represents unconditional love and therefore can mean true love or a real soul connection so the ruler of the 7th house making an aspect to Neptune, Neptune in the 7th, Juno in the 12th, 12th house synastry etc. can mean true love and a real soul connection in marriage. HOWEVER true love and a real soul connection feeling can often be confused with delusions which is why this planet gets such bad press in relatioships and remember 12th house a lot of times is karma so PLEASE be careful

💘 Venus ruling the 7th, venus in the 7th or Venus aspecting the ruler of the 7th indicates a strong desire to marry for love. Very possible that the person won’t marry unless it’s for love. This also indicates good marriage life

💘 If you don’t have this it of course doesn’t mean you won’t marry for love or won’t marry at all so don’t worry. What I’ve seen in people who don’t have this is they are quite independent when it comes to relationships, they don’t mind getting married but they don’t mind not getting married or staying single either. While people who do have this Venus influence could be low-key obsessed with getting married or having a commitment/relationship

💘 Mercury ruling the 7th, mercury in the 7th or Mercury aspecting the ruler of the 7th indicates marring someone that is funny, someone you can always joke around with

💘 Don’t overlook Chiron in synastry. The house where someone else’s Chiron falls in your own chart could be where you feel like this person is a pain in the ass or where this person will help you achieve great potential

💘 Check Chiron in composite too, it represents where you may feel like you can never agree on or where you often agree to disagree

💘 Once you gain the trust of someone with Taurus Venus they are the absolute SWEETEST people ever

💘 Libra Venus love getting ready for someone special

💘 Check the ascendant in your Juno persona chart, it has some significance as to the energy around you meeting your spouse similar to a composite rising but more subtle energy. For ex. one of my friends has gemini rising in her Juno persona chart and she met her husband when we were in high school when she was about to be picked up by car and she was also holding books in her hands and when she saw him he was with his brother.

💘 The rising in the Juno persona chart also indicates appearance or overall vibe of spouse. For ex the husband of this friend I just told you previously (Gemini rising in her Juno pesona chart) has a very youthful and boyish vibe almost like a teenager he’s also very witty

Meaning, somehow the house person “judges” the planet person by deliberating how they’d be as a parent. With this overlay the house person naturally takes care of the needs of the planet person (said needs will be determined by the planet and sign in question) and that’s why the planet person will inevitably see the house person as a good potential parent

💘 There are lots of placements and asteroids that indicate your sexual turn ons but I think that the most potent ones are Lilith, Eros, your 8th house and the ruler of the 8th house. I’ve noticed that these represent specially erogenous zones for you and parts of the body you’re specially attracted to (aside from your kinks and stuff). For example Cancer: breast or nipple, Gemini: lips or hands, Taurus: waist and neck, Leo: hair or back, Sagittarius: hips or thighs etc.

💘 Mars can represent this too but what I’ve seen is that your mars represents more so HOW you like to have sex. It mostly represents how you like to physically approach the sexual act

💘 8th house represents your sex style, the overall vibe or attitude you want in the sexual act. For ex you may like being dominant during sex with mars in Capricorn but want the sexual act to feel emotional and vulnerable with Cancer in the 8th or raw and fiery with Aries in the 8th

💘 Also, your 8th house is EVERYTHING when it comes to feeling satisfied sexually regardless of your kinks and turn ons. If you have sex that checks all the boxes for all your kinks/turn ons but doesn’t match up with your 8th house energy you will likely end up feeling low-key unsatisfied

💘 Before starting with the composite observations, you should know that synastry is the dynamic between two people but composite represents what the relationship really is, so that’s why on this post I’m focusing on composite

💘 I’ve noticed that the 2nd house in a composite chart indicates the “glue” or foundation of the relationship, its stability. Mars in this house could create a relationship based on sex for example, Venus a relationship based on love and affection, Saturn a relationship based on stability and compromise etc.

💘 4th house and moon in the composite represents the depths of the relationship. How you guys feel deep down about each other, how you make each other feel. This part of your relationship shows specially when you get true and honest with what are your real feelings

💘 Aquarius or Uranus in the 4th house, Aquarius moon or Moon conjunct Uranus in the composite creates a whole deal of emotional detachment for each other. Could be very emotionally cold to each other and one or both could see the other as insensitive specially if one of them has natal water or fire moon

💘 Aquarius Sun or risings in the composite however is huge best friend vibes regardless of the nature of the relationship. Moon conjunction Uranus can also get away with giving this vibe

💘 Virgos and Scorpios naturally find each other because they tend to have composite Sun in Libra :) So that togetherness and companionship energy is natural for them

💘 Aries moon in the composite chart is that type of relationship where any insult actually means “I love you”. Is that type of dynamic where one’s like “I love you, stupid bitch” and the other goes “🥰🥰” and then they both laugh

💘 Pisces moon in the composite is cute but also a bit tricky if afflicted, the couple could constantly feel they have to watch themselves in order to not hurt or offend the other, like constantly walking on eggshells. Needless to say also these relationships are very intuitive, if one or both are lying or hidding something (which often happens with this placement I’ve seen), the other just KNOWS

💘 Saturn in the 7th in the composite is very good aspect for staying together long-term but it can also mean that the couple is for some reason “forced” to be together or to see each other. They come together due to circumstances and not necessarily by choice (Saturn represents responsibilities, burdens or obligations). You have to look for indicators of love and romance otherwise it’s gonna be a relationship that stays together but more out of duty than real love

💘 Juno in the 4th house in the composite (specially conjunct some planet) is more indicative of marriage (or loyalty/compromise) than Juno in the 1st

💘 Vesta exactly conjunct South Node in the composite creates a STRONG soul-mate feeling and great devotion. These relationships are so long lasting the type where you just know you’re gonna be together your entire life

💘 Chiron in the 1st in the composite chart = feeling uncomfortable with each other, like you’re incompatible or like you don’t click together at all. Can also create a “can’t be together” vibe but not in a platonic Pisces way it’s more like there’s some incompatibility that can’t be salvaged and “stops” the couple from meeting/coming together or the relationship from taking place at least at first. Basically the relationship feels broken before even starting. The sign Chiron is in gives insight as to what’s the nature of this incompatibility.

💘 Saturn in the 8th in the composite = reluctance to have sex, one might have been sexually rejected by the other

💘 Chiron in the 10th in the composite = you don’t like working with this person. I have this with one of my best friends, we tried to run an IG page together and it was a disaster lmao

💘 Sun and maybe Venus in the 10th house in the composite indicates your relationship is source of gossip or at the very least everybody knows about your relationship

💘 If a composite planet or point falls in your natal 10th house then the relationship might affect your reputation

💘 The most harmonious and the most healthy relationships I’ve seen had empty 7th house empty 12th and empty 8th house in the composite. Literally 0 drama, 0 tensions, 0 codependency and surprisingly unbreakable (supported by other aspects of course)

💘 With that said the number 1 best house for synastry or composite in my opinion and based on what I have seen is the 9th house both friendship and relationship, also the 5th, 4th, 2nd, 11th, 3rd

💘 People who have your DSC sign as their moon sign will strike you quite strongly. Not necessarily their moon falling in your 7th or conjunct the DSC (tho this is stronger) I’ve seen that the fact that someone has your DSC sign as their moon sign is enough to create a little “crush” feeling or you feel like you can’t hate that person bc may see them as cute.

💘 The people I’ve seen that have gone through a harsh divorce mostly had in their natal chart: North Node in the 7th, Chiron in the 7th house, Saturn rx in the 7th house, Jupiter Square Uranus and planets or angles in Aquarius degrees (11°, 23°) specially if Venus or Moon are in these degrees or conjunct a planet that is in these degrees. These indicators can apply to breaking up a long-term relationship, breaking an engagement, etc. except probably Jupiter square Uranus. This one is particularly a divorce aspect specially in women’s charts. Also, side note, if Pluto or Uranus are involved, these people may have a devastating divorce or breakup

💘 Composite planets in the composite 12th house can create a feeling like the relationship has an expiration date. One or both people are for some reason constantly anxious that the relationship might end. If they stay feeding these energy they’ll likely have a self-fulfilling prophecy

💘 Pisces rising in the composite makes for a very psychic bond. Could be the type of relationship where you’re thinking and wondering about them and boom they suddenly text you. These people are usually there for each other bc they intuitively know when to be

💘 This is probably a no-brainer but many life-long friendships I’ve seen had stelliums or planets in the 5th house-11th house axis or the 3rd house-9th house axis of the composite

💘 With Leo rising in the composite I’ve noticed these people always have very funny stories to tell about stuff they’ve been through and lived together. There’s a lot of “remember when...” followed by loud laughter.

💘 North north node in the composite 5th house is a great placement

💘 6th house placements in the composite and synastry creates a dynamic where the two people and the relationship itself ends up feeling extremely predictable. It was no question that Lisa was well liked and adored by many across Mondstadt. Despite her rather unique and flirty nature, Lisa was sweet and worried for others. She may be lazy at times, but she’s passionate when it comes to protecting the vast knowledge within the library. Her duality attracted many relationships. She had suitors, friends, students— all sorts of people flocking to her. All people who adored her.

(y/n) was one of many people that adored Lisa. They were a vision user— someone who trained under Lisa’s guidance and soon became a close friend of hers after joining the Knights of Favonius. Their love was different from others, however. It wasn’t just a passing infatuation based on looks alone, or a simple platonic friendship or just mutual respect. It was pure adoration and devotion. (y/n) wanted to treat Lisa the absolute best she could be treated. They wanted to be the reason she smiled and wanted to help her in the rare moments that she was upset. They loved her because she was herself. They loved her personality, her nature, her looks, her power— everything. A pure, but true love built on years of mutual respect, conversation and trust.

Despite having these feelings for Lisa, (y/n) was always hesitant to confess, unsure of how the librarian would react. Lisa was hard to read when it came to romance as she flirted with many, but seemed non-committed to a relationship as a whole. (y/n) was sure that they’d be rejected if they tried, though the thought always lingered. The “what if’s” and “if only’s” rang freely in their mind. What could be always seemed to triumph over what already was. It was an internal battle that led to them ultimately deciding that they wanted to confess to Lisa despite what may happen. They’d support her regardless, even if it meant outright rejection. They respected her too much to feel a need to avoid her if they were denied.

Many people advised them against it, claiming that Lisa only had eyes for the Acting Grand Master, or that she’d never participate in a relationship of any sort. All of these points contradicted and only served as excuses in hope to deter (y/n) from confessing. After all, it seemed that everyone besides (y/n) themself could see the way that Lisa looked at them. It was a look she reserved for the vision user alone— one that no other could hope to see. It was the same built up mutual love and respect that (y/n) always showed Lisa. Just about everyone that could be asked was positive that the two had mutual feelings for one another. It was hard for anyone in Mondstadt who knew them both to envision that there’d be any sort or rejection.

Though that was everyone else’s opinion. The only one that (y/n) truly cared for was Lisa’s. They’d gathered a bouquet of carefully picked flowers from Flora’s shop and headed to the library where they were sure Lisa was bound to be, as she always was. As the sun set over the horizon, they walked up the steps into the Favonius headquarters and into the first door to their right. They ensured their steps were loud enough to be heard as to not startle the one they loved so much.

Lisa caught their gaze from her desk and offered up a warm smile, one between friendly and flirty— one she only gave to them. A gesture of genuine joy at their presence. Before she could get a word out, (y/n) presented her with the flowers.

“Lisa. I’ve adored you for a while now. After years of knowing you, I’ve fallen for you. You’ve always been so kind and warm to me in a way that shows that you respect me for something beyond my status as a Knight. You respect me for who I am and you’ve put in effort to learn about who I am beyond just my exterior. I hope that I’ve done the same for you, and I hope that you can return my affections. These flowers are for you.” (y/n) spoke, a gracious smile on their face as they expressed the feelings they’d held back for so long. Lisa accepted the flowers, taking time to observe them before standing up and embracing the other tightly. She was incredibly grateful for their honesty, but she knew that she couldn’t accept.

“Darling, the flowers are absolutely beautiful. You’re always so careful in your affectionate gestures. That’s something I love about you. But I can’t accept your confession.” Lisa expressed honestly and pulled away from the hug. She felt her heart fall as did their expression, but she continued with her explanation.

“My time in this world is limited, dear. The last thing I want is to get in a relationship that’ll inevitably end with my untimely death. It is a price I pay for my knowledge and power— one I have long accepted. It’s a burden I cannot put on anyone else’s shoulders.” Lisa explained before kissing their cheek lightly.

“You were the right person, but time is against us. I don’t want to imagine how you’d have to fare without me. It’s inevitable though. It’s an unfortunate fate that I must bear on my own. I’m not sure how much longer I have. It’s unfair for me to steal away your companionship when I won’t be around to cherish it for as long as I’d like.” Lisa explained. (y/n) felt their soul crush at the news. Rejection is something they could handle, but the news that someone they loved so much had limited time? That was something that was beyond awful. They shook their head as tears fell from their eyes, unable to form the words to express the pain they felt. Lisa simply cupped their cheeks and wiped their tears away, nodding, an unspoken understanding of their grief.

They embraced once more and Lisa glanced to the hourglass on her desk, watching as the sand flowed steadily to the bottom. She had lied. The true unfairness was that she wasn’t allowing (y/n) the decision she knew belonged to them. She knew they could choose to stay by her side— decide that they’d like to be hers until the very end even if it was for a few months or a few years— depending on Lisa’s own luck. However, it was her that couldn’t bear the thought of losing (y/n). She loved them so much already, and she knew that she’d only grow to adore them more if they began a relationship. It would only make her departure more painful— knowing that she couldn’t spend a lifetime with them— knowing that she’d eventually become a memory to them. She knew it was better for them both to remain friends— to make her parting from the world easier on them both.

However the real truth was that the situation was unfair for them both. Two soulmates who found each other at the worst possible moment. Lisa could only hope that when all of the sand in her hourglass eventually flowed to the bottom, she’d be reborn. Reborn in a world with them in it.

Reborn at a time that was favorable for them both.

Reborn as someone (y/n) still adored, and reborn without a death clock ticking over her head. That way, maybe next time she could accept their affection.

Maybe next time they’d both be happy.

Maybe next time their story wouldn’t close with her passing peacefully in their arms. Maybe next time the story would be happier, and the image of them mourning her death next to her grave wouldn’t be ingrained into the minds of many who’d thought that their love was a mutual love like no other.

Summary: Thorin meets his One while still a young prince in Erebor, but their lives are torn apart by their families and the arrival of Smaug.

Based on Alice Tynan’s interview with Richard Armitage in ‘The Vine,’ this fic was inspired by @gwen-ever’s wonderful art for the @tolkienrsb 2021!

There is a room in Erebor, a secret place where once their love bloomed in peace. All the memories of that place, where he held her and worshipped her with his lips, were forever engraved in his mind. It was there that, after months of struggling with his feelings, he had realized she was his One.

All Dwarves know that Mahal sometimes creates two of his children from the same stone, bonding them for life. Of course, not all Dwarves marry. Even those granted this honour by their Maker do not always choose to marry, for some value friendship above all other bonds, while others devote themselves to their craft. Still, as a young boy, Thorin had hoped Mahal would deem him worthy, and every night he had dreamt of the moment he would meet his One, conjuring their likeness like an artist who paints a picture and gives it life.

He had also wondered what it would feel like to meet his One. Would he know immediately? And how would he know? Perhaps it would be like in those romance novels his sister liked so much. A tender, all-consuming look from across the room, silently reassuring the other that they had found each other at last.

Perhaps due to long hours in the council chamber, Thorin had become more of a realist as the years went on. He always had to be on his guard, and he learned quickly that he could not trust his desires, for they could be manipulated by advisors and enemies alike. Romanticism was fine for artists but not for princes. The idea of a destined love became no more than a child’s fanciful dream, and Thorin grew gradually less opposed to the concept of an arranged marriage until the thought of it did not bother him at all. After all, his parents had been married for a political alliance and had still grown to care for each other. Thorin knew he would do the same.

At least, that was what he had told himself before he met Rúna, his dear Rúna.

He did not know immediately that she was his One, but from the moment their gazes met, he knew he would never again be the same. Her presence had so bewitched him that he had not realized he was walking toward her until she stood right in front of him. Then, stumbling over his every word, he had thought himself defeated, oblivious to the fact that she felt the same indescribable pull toward him.

“Thorin, at your service,” had been his first words to her.

“Rúna, daughter of Ragni, your highness,” she had replied with a curtsy, enchanting him all the more with her melodious voice.

“I hope you are having a pleasant time, Lady Rúna.” Already, he had loved the way her name rolled off his tongue.

“More pleasant than you, at least, seeing as you have found nothing better to do than stare at me from across the room,” she had replied teasingly.

Blushing furiously, he had attempted to remain formal and composed but, ultimately, had failed miserably. “I had hoped that would go unnoticed, or at the very least, that you would humour me and pretend like nothing had transpired. And just because I was watching you does not mean I am not having a pleasant time. On the contrary, my spirits were lifted by the sight of your fairness.”

Thorin could still remember the beautiful blush that had painted her cheeks. “Forgive me,” he had said hastily. “I did not mean to make you uncomfortable.”

“I did not say I did not enjoy it,” she had replied with the most enchanting smirk.

That was how their conversations usually unfolded. Thorin, who always prided himself on being in control and always knowing what to say, would find himself barely able to think. He blamed her low-cut gowns and the redness of her lips for that.

They soon became inseparable. Every day, they would meet in their secret room, a haven where they shared stolen kisses and soft caresses. Âzyungel, she would call him, for she, too, had accepted Mahal’s will. She had accepted Thorin as hers, and in those moments, both of them had believed nothing would ever separate them, for they were destined to be together.

Deep in the caverns of his mind, a voice called out to Thorin, warning him against the intensity of his passion, but he did not listen. He found himself thinking of her at the most inappropriate times, and she haunted the nights he wished he could spend with her. When he closed his eyes, he saw her smile and heard her laughter, clearer than the soft splashing of water against limestone rocks.

What would it be like to spend his whole life with her, his Rúna?

Thorin thought with utter surety that he would soon know when they announced to their families their intent to wed. At first, everyone was overjoyed. Rúna came from a wealthy and respectable family, so the king had no objections to his grandson’s choice — not that any of that mattered to the couple. Ale and Dorwinion wine flowed freely as the news travelled through the mountain. The prince had chosen his princess.

Thorin and Rúna welcomed their families’ approval, but they secretly longed to be alone once more. When at last they found themselves in the comfort of Thorin’s chambers, they drank some more wine between languid kisses, committing the moment to memory. Fingers braided hair then caressed the skin they hastily revealed, their cheeks tainted with the soft glow of love.

That night, like their hearts forever bound, their bodies became one. Thorin was gentle, attentive to her every need, and even afterwards, he continued to bathe her in tenderness, scattering kisses all over her skin as they murmured promises of eternal love to each other, bodies entangled.

Rúna fell asleep to the soft lullaby of his heartbeat beneath her cheek, and though she never doubted for a second his sincerity and devotion, those promises were never fulfilled.

Rúna knew they should have been patient, and although she was usually very sensible, she had not known how to resist her handsome prince, especially not when his body had promised her glorious passion, now and for the rest of their lives. Besides, it was not as though premarital relations were unheard of. However, princes had to follow much stricter rules. And these rules had been carelessly ignored. And as the days went on, Rúna knew she would not have the luxury of keeping their transgression a secret, for inside her bloomed the product of her and Thorin’s love, but also the cause of their demise.

Even if it had not been for her growing belly, her morning sickness and alarmingly fluctuating moods would have given her away. And they did. She had never seen her parents so furious, and their disappointment pierced her heart. Her father shouted about her stained reputation and their ruined bloodline, leaving her in tears as she tried to scramble away in search of Thorin even as she knew it was hopeless.

She knew they would separate them.

King Thror, with the support of Thorin’s parents, banished Rúna from Erebor, never to see her beloved again. She tried to fight them, indignation festered inside her like a poisoned wound, the unattainable promise of Thorin’s love shattering her heart into a million pieces, but it was hopeless.

They did not inform Thorin of this, for it was their firm intention never to let him know about the bastard child. Instead, they told him she was bedridden while they conjured up a more permanent plan. And so, unaware that his One had been taken from him, Thorin brought flowers to Rúna’s door every day. He hated every moment he was forced to spend away from her — it felt unnatural — but he consoled himself by thinking that they would spend their whole lives together.

Then the dragon came.

Thorin had been out hunting in the woods with his siblings when a strong wind began to rattle the treetops. Then a roar like thunder split the sky, and the blood of Thorin’s veins froze when he heard a shout from afar.

“Dragon!”

Rúna.

Without so much as a glance at his companions, Thorin bolted toward the mountain, fear clogging his throat.

Refusing to believe this was real, he did not even stop when the gates loomed above him, riddled in flames, but the screams piercing his ears grounded him to the bitterness of reality. The air was wrought with the stench of burning flesh and the sorrow of a broken people. All around him, children cried in fright, and mothers wept while the distant ringing of useless steel announced their defeat.

No help came from the Elves that day, nor any day since; a betrayal Thorin never forgot. Even if there had been survivors still clawing for breath inside the mountain, they had no means to reach them.

Rúna.

Thorin searched for her everywhere, shouting her name until his lungs burned, but when the moon appeared, and she was still nowhere to be found, Thorin knew it was hopeless. Grief crashed over him like a hurricane.

He had lost her.

He wanted to tear the sky open and demand retribution from Mahal himself, but all his remaining strength he used to remain on his feet. He had to be strong for his people — what remained of them. His family had miraculously survived, but even that could not have filled the gaping hole where his heart had once beat.

Rúna, his dear Rúna. The memory of her lips against his turned to ash in his mouth. When he had last kissed her and held her, he had done so thinking he would have a lifetime to keep loving her. But she was now no more than a memory.

He forced himself not to think of that, for his people needed him now more than ever. Only once he was finally alone did he let his tears run free, and all through the night, he sobbed into his pillow, his only comfort the memories of their secret room, untouched by fire and blood. Thorin held onto those memories all through the years, never forgetting, never forgiving.

sun in capricorn - levi mf ackerman is fuelled by three things and three things only: LOYALTY, a strong moral code and power. he is seen by most people as a heartless, unemotional bastard but is canonically the most emotional character - he shows love through very indirect ways and he’s the peak of capricorn in the sense that he represses his emotions – he smiled literally ONE time in four seasons, and didn’t once shed a tear. he’s very hard to read. has a lot of respect for his superiors and follows the orders of only those he’s loyal to. he’s driven by his moral codes in the sense that the protection of humanity is his prime motive for fighting titans. like a true capricorn, is the master of his field of work and cares the most about being a survey corp member. please protect this tragic baby.

moon in scorpio - i think he has many similarities with mikasa, especially in the moon and venus. introverted and hates people but will go to the ends of the earth to protect the ones he loves and respects. represses emotions and internalizes his hatred until he has a mental breakdown - which happens in the form of extreme violence. VERY sensitive and emotional even if he doesn’t show it. he’s very intuitive and often acts based on gut; he’s secretive and vindictive. very wise and great at giving advice. doesn’t let himself get manipulated and uses shitty situations to his advantage (like with the reeves company). trust is the most important thing to him.

mercury in aquarius - levi is extremely logical, and hates when others involve their feelings in the making of decisions. his decisions are always backed up by strong arguments and others often see him as cold and detached. i saw someone mention something extremely interesting about aquarius mercury’s/people with their mercuries in the 11th house: despite not being very sociable, others are drawn to them for friendships – and often they’re the introverts who get “adopted” by extroverts. this is 100% levi’s case, hanji and erwin practically adopted him. being very vulgar with his words and having a distinctive sense of humour, he’s very humanitarian and is actually really talkative but only when he’s very comfortable around someone. blunt, always tells it like it is – like when he tells eren he can’t know what the right choice really is and he needs to choose it himself. teases and insults his friends as a form of affection.

venus in capricorn - good luck getting this motherfucker to open up. his trust is very hard to gain but is necessary for working with him – he places his full trust in his comrades and demands the same from them. very work-oriented and takes relationships very serious; it’s really telling that he cares little for romance because capricorn venuses are the ones to date to marry, and will only devote themselves to someone once they believe they’ve met the one. they either want a more powerful and mature partner or they exude that energy (levi is the latter). slightly parental – we see this in the way that levi is pretty much the dad figure. it’s called squad levi for a reason, after all. very responsible. takes care of loved ones and often uses tough love as a form of discipline.

sun in aries - eren feels the need to be very independent and he hates whenever he has to depend on mikasa and others, wanting to be strong enough to reverse the roles. he’s very self-confident, bold and direct. very impulsive, he’s quick to anger but is also very quick to forget - especially seen with his arguments with jean, fighting him is basically a love language at this point. aries suns are very fast thinkers and their strong energy may come off as intimidating. they have great intentions but that often becomes muddled with their impulsivity and the fact that they don’t think ideas through. eren is unabashedly himself and fights relentlessly for what he wants. his aries energy also makes him extremely motivated! he believes in the impossible and will make it happen no matter what.

moon in sagittarius – all this motherfucker talks about is freedom and seeing the world past the walls. he craves adventure and is extremely optimistic. but even if a sagittarius moon needs their freedom, they are still absolutely ride-or-dies and once they’ve commited to something, NOTHING or NO ONE can stop their determination. these are also the people to try their best to always appear cheerful and full of determination to hide their sad façade – like when he was nearly vomiting when talking about the titans to the other recruits when they began the training in the military but still forced himself to say that the titans aren’t scary at all and that they aren’t a big deal; he naturally inspires others and fills them with courage. but the way they put on this strong and brave façade leads to a strong emotional turmoil, violent urges and a sudden hostility to others. they are filled with surpressed anger that can lead them through very destructive paths – and the happy-go-lucky child might just lose her hope. we see this in eren in the most heartbreaking way.

mercury in aries – LOUD!!! eren speaks what’s on his mind with NO hesitation whatsover. he’s very quick to defend his friends and points of view, and speaks openly about his passions and dreams. he’s very assertive and tenacious. short attention span and not afraid to give a different opinion from someone else’s. very passionate about what he argues about. very expressive and when an aries mercury disagrees with you, you’ll know it immediately by their facial expression. confident and thrives on inspiring others. remember him being mad when it was discovered the possibility of all titans being humans because now he didn’t know who the enemy is and he NEEDS to hate someone and blame them in order to keep going? ARIES MERCURY ENERGY!!

mars in aries - people look to mars in aries to lead them. they’re full of energy and dynamic, and very athletic - eren exceeds at hand-to-hand combat and, in the other subjects where he’s not so good, his determination makes him push forward and become better. venus in pisces - i know this is going to confuse a lot of people - like, how does he have so much aries energy, how is he so intense yet has one of the softest venus placements? i deeply believe he’s a pisces venus, and here’s why. his friends are EVERYTHING to him. pisces venus’ love very deeply and are very dependent on their loved ones, and eren is extremely protective of his loved ones and is willing to do anything to protect them. pisces venus’ are very vengeful, too, something that people seem to brush off about them - they might not do anything when you mess with them but as soon as you mess with their friends it’s game over. i also get a lot of “there was no other way, the word had to be fixed” vibes from this placement? like, this placement gives me the energy of someone willing to commit awful crimes under the excuse of it being for the greater good, which is something he dramatically experiences as he grows older and witnesses the cruelty of the world.

sun in scorpio - armin very resourceful!! he easily adapts to the circunstances he’s in and works his way around it. very intelligent and with great memory. extremely manipulative, cunning and perceptive. scorpios are known for their capability to be great investigators due to their natural curiosity, and armin has this deep need to see the world outside of the walls and he studies all there is to know about it with great passion. determined to succeed.

mercury in scorpio - bro armin’s eyes are so intense. when he gets on his manipulative bullshit it’s IMPOSSIBLE to look away from his gaze. he practically communicates through the eyes. armin is very sharp and his innocent appearance has everyone still thinking of him as a sweet angel as if he isn’t a whole war criminal. he easily psychoanalizes others to know what they want and uses it to his advantage, like how he used berthold’s love for annie to manipulate him to let eren go after him and reiner kidnapped him. scorpio mercuries be knowing shit, they be knowing everyone’s secrets and others usually confide in them as if they’re their therapists.

mars in pisces - mars in pisces makes a person avoid physical confrontation at all costs. notice how armin’s first response to everyone wanting to kill reiner and bertold/the marleyans was “please let’s just talk about this first”? he hates violence and deems it not worthy most times. he is very physically weak and aware of his limitations, unlike eren and levi, whose first instinct is to use violence in order to get what they want. no, armin has developed a much more subtle and effective way to get what he wants without using violence: emotional manipulation. he is the KING of appearing innocent and naïve and having people feel bad for him and want to baby him and protect him, and due to his extremely intuitive nature, he knows EXACTLY what to say to someone to get under their skin. he twists his words and emotions to get what he needs out of people and it’s both incredible and dangerous. also, very self-sacrifical and his goals are based on his emotions.

venus in cancer - he loves so much and it’s so beautiful and heartbreaking. he gives everything to the ones he loves and thrives off of being helpful and keeping everyone safe. reads a lot into the behaviour of the people he loves. very emotionally intelligent, wants stability and to maintain peace and may bend over backwords to achieve that. needs to feel understood and has a soft spot for troubled people, those who are more demanding and assertive (eren and mikasa), people he can take care of and who can take care of him in return. very affectionate and communicative. warm presence, you can pretty much feel the love radiating out of him.
