“Seriously! Can you guys stop arguing for five seconds! Ric has given me enough shit as it is for having one of Klaus’s paintings here at the school. This painting is the only way the portal can be concealed and we only get one shot at this! Bonnie needs silence to concentrate on this spell. So if I hear one more word from you guys, Rebekah and Katherine you’re out of the deal. Got it?”

Both girls look at her with wide eyes and gaping mouths. Looking lost between wanting to say something and thinking better of it. Caroline gives them a daring smile before flipping her hair and turning back to the spellbook in front of her.

Even from their respected positions from across the room, Katherine keeping watch at the door and Rebecca on standby for coverup purposes, they seemed minutes away from tearing each other's heart out. Although Caroline is grateful for the unspoken agreement amongst the girls that death would be the least of their problems if the boys from Mystic Falls find out what they're doing. It honestly sends a little zing of thrill through her that she hasn’t felt in a while, thinking of accomplishing something a certain original hadn’t been able to. But with practiced ease she pushes Klaus out of her mind, needing to focus on the problem at hand.
