We've got some exciting updates and important info to share with you:

✨ Surveys: All surveys have been sent out, and we've already received a ton of responses—thanks for being so prompt! We've made some adjustments based on your feedback and our own observations:

Early Bird Bonuses: Early bird backers now receive a single free button, not two. We've corrected this in your surveys.

Double-sided Print: The free double-sided print featuring both covers is now included for all backers with physical goods in their orders. Digital-only backers won't be charged for shipping.

Shipping Costs: We've fixed an issue where digital-only backers were mistakenly charged shipping. If you're a digital-only backer but still want the freebies, shoot us an email, and we'll sort it out for you.

🎉 Pre-Order Store: Exciting news! Our pre-order store is now live! If you know someone who missed the campaign, they can still grab zines and merch until the end of the month.

📦 Shipping Update: If all goes well with finalizing surveys and shipping charges, we're still aiming to ship in May. Stay tuned for more updates and reminders as we get closer to the end of the month.

Okay look. I know it's not life or death and sure I'm gonna wait because I want the items I ordered, but I think it's a little ridiculous for a company that took payments for merchandise over a year ago to just... keep pushing out the shipping date.

"Oh no guys! The stuff that we said would be released and to you by Christmas of 2022 will be delayed to Q1 23! Uh oh! Looks like it won't be here until Q2!! Gosh, guys, I hate to tell you this, but your order won't ship until Q3 8("

Now we're coming up on the end of Q3 and I just KNOW another email is in the pipeline.

Because here we are, OVER a year since I ordered the stuff from Iam8Bit, and the ONLY updates I've gotten from them (while other people have long since received their merchandise) is "Update regarding your update regarding your update" on the things I purchased - again - over a year ago.

This is not the first product they've produced. They need to pick a reasonable date in which they feel production will ACTUALLY be accomplished, and stick to it, rather than send out endless emails about how they made an oopsie.

Like honestly at this point I would rather them just ship it unfinished lmao.

wait i just realized that sahcon gave the kickstarter backers more of an update than the kickstarter itself

i also didn’t receive the update emails for the eldritch saints stuff, just the initial order confirmation email.

Okay thanks for letting me know! I'd prefer to send updates to pre-order backers via Backerkit instead of posting to social media and hoping people see it, so I'm going to wait until I hear from them to send a summary of everything.

I think the issue with the algorithm might also have to do with the branding being cult themed but idk I just don't know how to help anymore. I can't back anymore and I've shared it with multiple friend groups but I feel like that's not gonna help

I think that’s the cult thing is part of it too and it sucks because it’s such a well branded campaign for a lot of the audience, but it probably isn’t drawing in the people at the fringes. It is EXHAUSTING because yeah I’m sharing it as much as I can and I hope that has got some more people to back but it is hard to see how we can get as many as we need. Because I did the math knowing it would be way out of reach and it is like, if everyone who’s currently backed upped a whole $175. So we need a lot more people. And I wish it didn’t have to come to this but tbh the thing I think would probably help the most is if they put out a video on the starkid channel

I like all of the RO's a lot, but Amir holds a special place because I have an OC who is a tired wet rat of a woman and I like to pair her with really flamboyant and dramatic characters because I think it's fun.

HONESTLY there is nothing I love more than pairing Amir up with messy wet skrunglies like trust me he is both painfully beautiful and flamboyant enough for both of you. As long as your OC can tolerate his draping, swooning, "getting the vapors", and niche art topic rants they're in wonderful company.

Effective Strategies for Updating Backers During a Crowdfunding Campaign

Folks, if you're going to run a Kickstarter campaign with any sort of "your name in the credits" reward, always ensure that your backer survey explicitly asks a. whether they'd like to be credited, and b. under what name they'd like to be credited.

You cannot assume that a given backer's account name matches their answer to the second question; when people change their names, they often forget to update accounts on non-social-media platforms, and practically nobody remembers to do their Kickstarter account.

I mostly work with tabletop roleplaying crowdfunding, and given a. the fulfillment time of your average crowdfunded tabletop RPG, and b. the demographics of the roleplaying hobby, it may not come as a surprise to you that the number of campaigns I've run or assisted with running that didn't end up with at least a few deadnamed accounts on the "backers to credit" list is literally zero. Save everyone involved some trouble and double check.

So, the game is funded! Already. And also-

$107,717USD in funding, 1,488 backers, and one stretch goal reached in about one hour. We’ve done it, folks.

The amount we were aiming for was significantly higher than the original Our Life’s. It had to be with how much more complicated and asset heavy this second installment is. But seeing how absurdly easily we were able to hit that point was a major relief.

In the future, the base game is going to be available for free to anyone who’d like to enjoy a charming autumnal story, and four optional DLCs will be available for players who want to spend even more time with their favorite neighbors. Hopefully moving to Golden Grove will end up being a wonderful turn of events for those who find themselves in that little mountain town. We’ll do our best to make it special 💖 🍂
