I feel like Mario likely wouldn’t be able to handle either of them, pure cuteness overload

AWW I absolutely must draw this at some point! 😭🙏💖 Let's see... Would baby Luigi be his own character from an alternate universe, or my version somehow reverted back to an infant? I feel like my Mario would probably not have quite the same reaction depending on which on it would be. 🤭

With the canon version, I'm sure that my Mario would be completely endeared and feel the strongest surge of affection and protectiveness towards him, but... if this were his literal brother temporarily (and harmlessly!) transformed into a baby, I think that would make him very emotional, honestly. 🥺 He would see this tiny thing, ever so gently lift it in his arms, and would suddenly be hit with a tidal wave of memories; all good times from a not-so-distant past. In an instant, Mario would suddenly remember what it was like for them when they were so young, remember how he felt for his little brother even then, and he would be struck with a love so strong and powerful that it would just- overflow. Thinking of how far his little brother has come, of how immensely proud he is of him and wants to be near him always him would fill Mario's eyes with tears and he would hold Luigi a little tighter as he would cry for a bit, all too aware of the treasure he's cradling. ;_; 💫💞

There was an idea I had discussed a while back for a potential piece in which Mario would be invited over to the castle for tea, and upon stepping into Peach's bedroom for the first time to access her bacony, he would happen to see a picture of her on her nightstand from when she was little. This would cause him to freeze mid-step, stunned and awestruck, eyes wide and bright with quiet wonder and fondness. The sight would plunge him into a brief state of daydream where he would imagine what it would have been like for them to meet as children, and he would smile shyly at the thought; ultimately persuaded that he would have felt the exact same way towards her as he does now. 🥰🌅💗

I still can't get Peach's backstory out of my head...

The movie seems to hint that her past is going to be revealed some day....but just not in this movie.

Peach even says that she doesn't even know where she came from, and then Mario chimes in with

"Maybe you're from my world!"

And then Peach replies "There's a whole universe out there...."

Which seems to imply that Peach is actually from another world entirely, and might be hinting at how they are going to handle other locations from the Mario games.

Honestly, this just makes me confused over how they are going to handle the other human Mario characters.

How are they going to explain Rosalina's origins? Are Wario and Waluigi from Brooklyn too? And most importantly...

What does this mean for Daisy? Who, may I remind, is also a princess. With her own kingdom.

Is Sarasaland in the Mushroom World, or on Earth?

Honestly...I'm so confused.
