twenty-six things I’m grateful for at twenty-six

growing up. the feelings of helplessness and frustration slowly washing away as you gain access to money and information.

strawberry cream cakes, strawberry cheesecakes, strawberry chocolate brownie cakes, strawberries.

a good night’s sleep. sleep that is 7+ hours, sleep that is not disturbed or day time sleep. but sleep at the “normal” night hours, sleep that is deep and restful.

book readers who annotate their books and write the year/place of when they were reading it on the first page because when I come across second-hand books like that my heart.

fleeting intimacies. those brief, beautiful conversations and moments you share with strangers that you will never meet again. at a café, at the airport, at the open mic night. connections that are purely happenstance and a time being in your life. the beginning is the ending. but it doesn’t matter. they add something, if not to your life, but to your energy. even if you can’t trace it.

the concept of crying. the release, the relief. if I didn’t have this, if I didn’t have this way of letting out my disappointment, overwhelmingness, tiredness, frustration, sadness, and pain, what would I do? what would I even do.

dog/cat/pet owners who understand that just because they love their pet not everyone has to and some people are genuinely afraid and not horrible human beings for not going awww but uhhh when they see their pet.

translators, more specifically book translators. thank you so much for all your effort into making sure I can enjoy such beautiful literature from other cultures and languages.

people who realize they were wrong about a certain perspective or life philosophy or stance and then course correct and acknowledge the same.

credit cards and essentially having quick access to credit in times of absolute need (fine line between hating cc and capitalism and using it to your advantage, I know).

people who introduce me to new imagery which sounds so simple but hits my brain like the freshest of oxygen like my father saying my mother’s face began to glow like the moon when she smiled or a tumblr writer saying something makes their heart beam.

earrings. long earrings that dangle against my neck and make me feel grown up, sometimes graceful, sometimes sensual. other types of earrings too. jhumkas. hoops.

sunflowers. filler flowers. flower shops that keep newspaper to wrap flowers in. people who show up to my apartment with flowers.

emails. I like that emails can be that perfect distance in communication but also so very efficient. they don’t demand instant replies like instant messaging. functional and timely. emails at work that exist in place of long meetings and emails from friends and lovers. my inbox feels like a mix of a treasure chest of precious words and an arcade of advertisements.

older women who look at me not as competition but with this sentiment of wanting to protect/guide me, with this feeling of fondness, words of advice that aren’t patronizing but so very well meaning.

good-quality, well-researched, engaging articles/blogs. blogs full of facts and figures that put things into perspective. blogs written in a witty and humorous tone that feel like you’re having a conversation with someone smart and warm.

my family. my friends. for loving me even when I am difficult. even when I am bratty. for understanding the subtext of my words and actions. for accepting me even when I don’t accept myself. for reminding me of who I am when I can no longer understand the concept of self. thank you.

clothing brands that have sizes bigger than large. clothing brands that have beautiful clothes and designs for sizes other than xxxxxxs.

people who know how to make important days about you like your birthday and your first day at work and your heartbreak date idk. just people who aren’t so dense and don’t know what their energy/focus needs to be at what time when with others.

glitter. glittery eyeshadow. glittery phone covers. glittery everything. all that glitters may not be gold but it does something to my brain and I love it.

people who can help me let loose. goofy and silly and light doesn’t come naturally to me. my disposition is pensive, internally. even though externally I may seem so exuberant.

context. the context behind a painting at an art gallery. context behind a meme. nothing is anything without context. so people who give you context, content that gives you context.

selfies. give me a sense of control over capturing myself and my moments because with someone else behind the camera I am as awkward as awkward can get.

the moon. stars. the sky. faraway things that are more complicated than just pretty things that make me calm. that make my mind calm. that make my heart feel less lonely.

space. physical space, emotional availability, mental headspace. in me and in others. required but rare.

all my past selves, all my younger selves for being. thank you for your wholesomeness, thank you for your resilience, thank you for your pureness, thank you for your decisions, thank you for your hope, thank you for your hard work, thank you for your crazy, your messy, your real, your beautiful. thank you for it all.

today is my twenty-sixth birthday and I wanted to take a bit to list down everything that makes my life lighter. there’s much more but now it’s time to go eat cake and click blurry, happy selfies.

Thank you for giving me permission to let me send any idea I get ^u^ your list has given me more ideas and thoughts 🩵 and it has helped play into a specific one ✨ so I am here to share one that had been at the forefront of my mind that I need to share with you and your amazing brain

Btw will be using fem pronouns cause it’s a bit easier for me to write this all out, but you don’t have to ^u^

I genuinely can’t stop thinking of all the possibilities that could arise from the chain— which now includes Cal and Sage whenever I talk about the chain as a whole, they deserve all the love 🩵— knowing that their goddess has a darker side. Before I get into that, will add that personally, I feel like y/n would never abuse that power, maybe cause she has some morals; never targeting kids ofc, but also those that flirt with her but back down immediately upon seeing her boys? Those people are fine, because they’re respectful at the very least— and don’t have the audacity to think they could ever measure up to even a fraction of her perfect boys. But others that keep pushing? Target acquired. But also I imagine she doesn’t want to abuse her power cause she doesn’t want to be even remotely close to Hylia or even Zelda; she actually genuinely loves and cares about her boys, and they already do so much for her, she would never want them to feel like she’s using them. Which, I mean to be fair, if we’re being technical, she kinda is using them, but it’s for her and her boys benefit ✨ she’s just giving them permission to deal with the scum of the earth

Anyway, back to the number one thought at the forefront of my mind, me thinks, as a treat for the boys since you mentioned that they find it hot as hell, them getting to witness their goddess as she chooses her next victim ✨

Before I do that, I wanna bring up some things you wrote, like from Sage figuring out reader knew what they were doing; “They enjoyed teasing the scum of the Earth, dangling their own supple body in front of them like a treat on a stick only to set their guard dog on them the second they overstepped.” This. This imagery right here is scrumptious. 10000/10 delicious. It sparked this idea in the first place. But also the fact that it’s not just one guard dog, it’s eleven guard dogs at the ready ✨ because even when the chain know the truth, that reader knows about their darker impulses and even encourages it, she still doesn’t stop goading those people into crossing a line so her boys can deal with them— at least, she won’t unless it genuinely upsets her boys, cause while she enjoys riling up the chain and seeing how possessive they can be, she doesn’t want to actually make them upset if they really don’t like it.

Which actually plays into another thing you wrote for the list— thank you for the list 🩵— specifically on Twilight’s part; “He's just a simple country boy who was raised in a village where everyone was honest, so he can only think the same of everyone, especially his Goddess, until proven otherwise.” Which again, this. I love this— I love everything you write but this had me going “awww” out loud, he’s so precious 🩵 but also this plays into the whole thing with reader not wanting to upset her boys. If the chain doesn’t actually like that she uses her body in a way that goads those scum, she’ll respect their wishes and just straight up tell them. Especially since well, she has nothing to hide if her boys know the truth, cause I feel like y/n— in an effort to not be in any way, shape, or form like Hylia or Zelda— would be honest with them about it. Literally straight up about who’s on her shit list.

And if we bring up the point system, the higher on her shit list, the more points the chain gets for dealing with them ✨ like if someone was flirting with her and wouldn’t back down? On her shit list but not very high up there, so extra points if the chain deals with them quickly. Someone saying some insulting shit about her boys?? Higher up on her shit list, extra points if the one who was getting insulted dealt with the person. Someone who insults her boys, flirts with her, and doesn’t back down???? The highest you could ever be on her shit list, extra points if they make it a painful death ✨ no one insults her perfect boys and gets away with it

So imagine this, the chain and reader at one of their castle towns, and y/n overhearing from one of the men they pass making a snide comment about that Hyrule’s Link and the chain getting to witness for the first time the way their goddess’s sweet smile tightens just the slightest bit, how her kind eyes shift into one that craves bloodshed but flickers back into that kind look so quickly, but now her eyes and smile hold something much sharper— except now she’s not directing that smile to them, she’s looking at the man that had the audacity to ever say anything about her boys. Now this is where the idea splits into two routes, cause I can’t be 100% sure whether or not the chain would want her to stop trying to goad the scum of the earth, so I shall give you both versions ✨

If the chain truly doesn’t mind, they would get to witness it with new eyes how their goddess expertly plays into the innocent role, how she maybe pretends to be lost or something and just uses her body in a way that gets her the exact reaction she wants from the man. Just like how you said, she dangled her body in front the man like a treat on a stick, just waiting for the man to overstep, and once he does, whether the chain pull their goddess away or she just drifts back to them, she’s content now that she’s gotten what she wanted, which is a target painted on that man. And she patiently awaits for her boys to deal with him like she knows they will.

Is the chain does mind, she gets closer to the Link of the Hyrule they were in, and since she would be honest, she would ask him if they knew that man, if he was of importance, and if anyone would notice if he just, disappeared. Never to be found again. Whether she has to be outright honest and bluntly asks them to deal with the man, or if that’s enough of a hint for them to have a target painted on the man, she’ll make sure they know exactly who she wants them to deal with.

Regardless of the route, the one(s) that deal with the man get lots of affection after they’ve dealt with the scum ✨

Now, I love including Cal and Sage because those two when with Wild are such a delicious trio. Full of resentment and bubbling anger just waiting to boil over? Drives me nuts. There is just so much potential there and I wanna love them all because it's what they deserve.

I totally like that entire idea of Reader not abusing their power. I imagine they view themselves as a benevolent being rather than a strictly Godly one. Like you said, kids are out of the question. People who respect their boundaries and understand that they could never measure up to the deities that are their boys are imposing on another person's relationship (Whether it's poly, a cult, etc., etc.) are also safe. It's the ones who don't respect that line. Who cross it and view Reader as nothing more than a piece of meat. Who want nothing more than a quick lay. Those are people who Reader deems as expendable. Because, really, Hyrule would be a better place without them in it.

And they would have to really push it. Reader is only instigating it if they push. From then, it's just baiting the boys into seeing it. Because you're right. She doesn't want to be at all like Zelda- or Golden three forbid, Hylia. They did nothing but use and abuse her perfect companions, with little to no second though to the aftermath. While, yes, she is also using them to a degree, it's more of a trade. She'll give them companionship and someone to lean on rather than them relying on no one but themselves.

When it comes to them knowing their Goddess has a darker side (Should we give this an AU name? I feel like we should-), it absolute riles them up.

Imagine having eleven guards dogs, prowling about, waiting to attack first and ask questions later. All their waiting for is the command. If it does genuinely upset her boys, she can definitely step back.

I'm glad you like the list so much! It was fun to figure out! Yeah, honesty is a huge difference between Reader and Hylia/Zelda. They never came outright with anything, lest it be a life or death situation. They've all had issues like this with their Zeldas, who simply didn't tell them something until they were facing down death itself. She'll straight up be like, hey, this happened, deal with how you want to, or, better yet, I'm dealing with it, i'll be back in a few minutes.

Now. A point system.

Now, imagine, if you will, someone not only insults her boys, and flirts without backing down, but dares to try and touch whats not theirs. That is the absolute pinnacle of fuckery.

I imagine this would happen in like Warrior's Hyrule because, let's face it, his is the messiest. Most people, half of them absolutely hate Link for starting a war, the other half want him in their bed, very little in between. And their ballsy because who's gonna stop them? Those jokes they call knights? Yeah, right.

Now, option A)

The man has already pushed. He pushed a fragile dam and it snapped, now he's left to deal with the anticipated torrent. She's sauntering over to him, fluttering her lashes and puckering her lips, doing all of the cheesy moves to get what she wants. And it works. Once he's hooked, his fate is seal. Because the boys are not the one to truly fear. No, Reader is. She makes the calls. She'll determine if you are worthy of their time. If not, if you've failed her test before it even begins?

Count your hours because they are fleeting and they are fleeting fast.

Option B)

Let's say this is Warriors Hyrule, she'll go to him on how to deal with this directly. Depending on the Hyrule, she'll let that Link lead the way. Some, like Wars, require some tact and poise when it comes to dealing with unwanted pests. With populations as heavy as they are, there are some hurdles they have to jump to make sure its done properly. They can't be sloppy, or they'll get caught. If it's someone like Hyrule's or, hell, even Sage's Hyrules, they can get as sloppy as they want as long as they remain out of sight.

You bet your ass that they are absolutely soaking up all the attention bestowed upon them for a job well done. Anything for their Goddess.

Stream-of-consciousness thoughts for TriMax Vol. 12, Chapters 4-6 below.

Chapter 4: The Gunslinger

Knives, that's not even a hand anymore. What have you done to your body, sir??

Vash has his attention. Good. I think.

Oof, Vash just burned more of his power here, didn't he.

Yeah, he did. I hope Knives is as horrified as I am.

Hiding behind the glasses. Good luck, babygirl. I don't like whatever you're planning, but it's not like I could do anything about it. Or come up with better ideas.

Yes. Yes, we are waiting with bated breath. There are TWO more volumes, and we're not even halfway through this one, and babygirl doesn't have much gold left, and Knives is in full monster mode, and where the hell are Legato and Livio and Elandira and... and... and...

I mean, kill him, absorb him.... It's not like it would be a long jump from one to the other. He already doesn't recognize Vash as an individual with a will of his own, or inasmuch as he does, he doesn't respect that will. All that's happened now is Knives has realized cowering in his own fear and following his plan for Ultimate Alone-ness(TM) is going to leave him without his brother, too. And he's decided he'd rather accept that than fail.

Ok, I love Knives' design here. It's like this terrible twist on angel presentation, with his wings looking more like teeth and jaws than wings, and with his face covered not by feathery appendages but by weird otherworldly tendrils.

Mmm, Knives looks like he thinks he got him, but I have my doubts. I don't really know what happened in the last few pages, but still.

LOLOLOL Knives was so busy being insulted by the "rudimentary" weapon Vash wields he didn't even consider that Vash might survive. Also, I bet he doesn't want to see Vash's corpse because then he might have regrets.

Knives is about to wax philosophical and Vash is like, "I ain't got time for your bullshit, bro. Get down here and fight me like a man!"

Chapter 5: +-0

Ohhhh, man. Listening to the Attack on Titan soundtrack while reading this was a mistake. As if I needed MORE feels.

Awww, teen Vash....

Wait, they chained him to a bomb?? Guys! He's just a baby Vash! He's a nice boy! Why'd you do this???

"Most of the time you don't know the person you're dealing with, but knowing their situation can change how you perceive their actions. The world keeps on turning, whether you understand them or not." Truth.

Eighty years?? EIGHTY, and they still look so young??? Also, that's a really long time to spend with someone while keeping them at a distance. It actually sounds like Vash wanted to leave but couldn't quite bring himself to, and so "arm's length" was the best compromise he could come up with. Not because he wanted to be closer and knew he shouldn't, but because he wanted to be further away and didn't know how.

And then... one day, he did.

Domina still doesn't look so good.

Mmm, so in all her battles, Chronica's never failed quite like this. One of the few spoilers I had around her was that she hates Knives, and at this point I think I can see why.

Knives always takes insult at Vash pointing a gun at him. He doesn't fear it. Only his '98 version registers it as a true threat. The rest of the time, it's just an insult. An insult that his brother would have become so distant from him to dare. An insult that his brother, a higher being, would use a rudimentary human weapon in what should be a struggle between gods. But... something something Christian imagery something Vash as a Jesus-like figure something something both Man and God and bridging the gap between the two.

Yeah, unlike you, Knives, Vash sees you as person and is absolutely not keen on taking away your right to life and all that comes with it.

Stampede just ate all this up, didn't they?

Look at that unsteady hand. Surely Knives came here to rescue him. Probably killed all the humans as he did it. Where did Vash get the gun?

Oh, shit. Knives didn't just kill up the guys who were executing Vash. He killed ALL of them.

Yeah, Knives isn't gonna get it.

Ah, tilting his head back like that. Resigning himself to a bloody victory, and allowing himself to revel in it even if Vash doesn't seem to get it.

Oh, man. He shot Knives!

Aaaand that's how Vash lost his arm.

Then what? Knives just left him there to bleed out in the desert while attached to a bomb? This seems questionable for Vash's continued survival.

Vash, NO. Don't kill yourself taking out your brother! This is NOT a reasonable option! There are soooo many people in the world still who care about you!

Also, shout-out to Knives' buggy dragon wings.

I like how in this spread Vash looks like Vash and Knives is... like... a disembodied blob.

Knives wants an all-out fight. Vash just wants victory.

Oh, Vash, honey.... You really should meet your cousin Chronica before you make claims like that. I'm sure she'd have some thoughts. Good thoughts.

Chapter 6: Resonance

Oooh, does this mean we're gonna get more Plant participation here?

Oh, man. I have a LOT of thoughts on resonance that I'm not going to write up tonight. I have to get up at the ass-crack of dawn and want to at least try to sleep at some point.

Knives has absorbed a TON of plants, and yet Vash, with his power and ingenuity, is matching him without having absorbed any.

Rude, Knives. Don't call your brother kii-sama.

Wait, Vash is stopping Knives from getting destroyed by his mini black holes? What's his plan here? Sap away Knives' power until Knives is no stronger than a human?

Oh, Smart Knives is smart. He, too, knows something's off.

I don't think Vash is here to give a lecture to you, Knives. Maybe... more of a practical demonstration, but not a lecture.

Ahhhh! Vash and the humans are trying to do the opposite of what Knives was doing! They're gonna ask! They're respecting the Plants' wills!

Ok, so... I've seen a lot of people talk about how pre-Vol. 10 Vash (or, really, pre-Vol. 8 Vash) is just like them fr fr with his slightly hidden depression and constant underlying suicidal tendencies and a bitterness he hides behind fake smiles. Personally, I find more resonance (heh) with post-Vol. 10 Vash, who is openly angry at certain things and has a far more clear view of his goal. I still think he runs more suicidal and/or depressed than I do, but it's not as far a jump from being suicidal to being willing to fight for a cause even if it costs your life as some might think.

Ugh, that's the stupid-ass military, isn't it. Just when it looks like the humans are getting through to the Plants, too.

I wonder if that's Brad there doing the obscuring thing. Kinda doesn't matter. It will be enough to encourage Vash, even if it's not enough to dissuade the military.

Augh I alivveeee- collages been killing me. Anywayyy to cope I’ve been making sick fic ideas and drawings ✨ todays victim being sigma, my sweetie. Yes yes it’s very ooc but I like to imagine Fyodor and Nik have a soft spot for sigma, sigmas like their wet cat they found and cherish. Anyway inspired by the official art and fan animation of the four boys at the cafe and sigma getting excited about cookies. Sigma probably hasn’t eaten a lot of interesting foods. So when he has an opportunity he got really excited and without realizing there’s consequences. Eats a whole ass tray of cookies. Nik finds him miserable later, very bloated and nauseous. Fyodor and Nik take care of their sick wet cat. Fyodor is able to get him to throw up by simply pressing down a little on his tummy. Nik holds back and plays with his hair- and sigmas just really confused and scared and he’s like “shit am I dying?” “No it’s just a tummy ache” “no im pretty sure im dying.”

I can be wrong but I don't think there will be jonerys if Jonsa going to be happen. It will be absurd for Jon and Sansa to have feelings towards each other and tried to deal with those feelings with other external issues only for him to fall for Dany too. Already Jon and Sansa suffered enough and still had to deal with things. Shouldn't they get some respite instead being dragged into some kind of love triangle? Jonerys bring nothing in story and to their characters besides unnecessary suffering

I happen to agree.

They can't coexist without destroying the point of either.

Whatever controversy and tension you create with introducing Jonsa as a fake!incest romance, you entirely undercut by adding Jonerys, the genuine aunt-nephew Targcest romance, on top of it.

Narratively, it erases the tension of the former (Incest? No big deal, old hat, been there done that.) alongside the deeper emotional significance for Jon. Since all that sister-incest drama apparently isn't remotely captivating enough to hold his attention and keep him from becoming enamored of a dragonriding invader, one that it turns out he is also related to.

What, apart from the deepest satire, is enabled by such a heaping of bait and switch incest?

Even if you place the parentage reveal very late (erasing all chance at Aegon drama for Jon) and turn it into a surprise accidental incest switch, you're left with a wishy-washy hero who basically goes "Awww, shucks, now I'm related to HER? Guess I can shag the redhead now, because we're only cousins, lol. Surely she won't care I was in love with the Targ queen until three minutes ago and only choose her now that the other one is off-limits. I am, after all, the ultimate and only worthy prize. Aww, CRAP, my platinum forbidden love is now charring a town! Is it my fault?"

Even any iteration of a sexual political!Jon storyline would suddenly place an embarrassing emphasis on Jon as an irresistible man prize no woman can resist, who is "forced to" have sex with the hot dragon queen to save the world and then fall into the patient and forgiving arms of the long-suffering maiden (who would never emasculate him with something as unpleasant as sexual competition, that's strictly for girls to endure)... apparently. Maybe with a "tragic" delay-by-exile to make it look a little less like he gets to have his cake and eat it too. A dream of spring, indeed. "Jon, your ten years are up. Sansa is ready to give you everything you ever wanted now after spending ten years waiting for you after your epic romance with your aunt. You were so very brave."

It erases the significance of the political messaging by making philosophical differences secondary to sexual attraction, and it really hurts the dignity of the female characters involved, Sansa and Dany both, by reducing their "peak" romance to a competition. It erases the concept and importance of fidelity and loyalty, if betraying one's love is either easily done in earnest, or handled like the rational and necessary choice by a true hero. Fidelity is a luxury that women can't ask of men unless they don't want to save the world!

Considering the level of importance GRRM has placed on romantic imagery specifically with Sansa, I find it sincerely improbable that he would reduce her to a reward prop for Jon, a clean and dignified maiden wife and mother-to-his-children as a treat, after suffering so terribly in yet another sexually charged relationship with dangerous and beautiful woman. (Yawn.) The love story she has been waiting for is going to have to be worth the wait? No?

Sansa's perspective on this would be pretty bleak, otherwise. What's the point of jonsa from her perspective? What's so great about Jon's love if he would just give it to a violent invader? What's supposed to be compelling about this romance for Sansa if it's just another disappointment because Jon's best political trick is sleeping with the beautiful enemy? Is pain the lesson here? Is jealousy and humiliation the price to pay for the crime of... what exactly? And what's the price Jon pays for loving Sansa, then? A little bit of feeling guilty for ten minutes before/after sleeping with his hot aunt? Really? That's love? That's romance? That's the future of House Stark? Sansa has no better option anywhere? Jon is literally the best possible guy, so she has to settle for that hot mess?

And what about Dany, who seems to spend her story arc essentially swinging from murder to falling for the wrong guy, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. Girl just thinks with her hormones, apparently. Compelling stuff. At least she gets to make Jon feel a little conflicted, I suppose. A lot of build-up in Essos for that, but anything to serve his story arc.

I don't buy it.

I don't buy it from Jon's perspective, I don't buy it from Dany's perspective, I don't buy it from Sansa's and I don't buy it from GRRM's.

I have never read a proposed storyline for Jonerys that would rival the intrigue of them being allowed to be platonic enemies. The dignity of letting their politics and personalities, not their genitals, take center stage.

her current outfit is based off of the Rattanakosin dress of Thailand! (simplified to hell n back cuz gods i do have to limit myself Somehow with this kinda stuff else my hand goes caput 🙏. i still have yet to really get the outfit down properly tbh)

the city being half within them and their citizens genuinely loving them lead to Wind becoming SOMETHING of a teacher to the side of her main jobs as an Iterator. this is mostly the case because i sent this vid to shkika sayin "my Wind vibes" and she replied with

Wind LOVES their interjections. like every other sentence is gonna have an "oh!" "ah!" "hah!" or smth of the like in it. i didn't headcanon this on purpose she just started doing it herself in her dialogue so i guess that's her Thing now

their positive attitude towards everything ever and their love of kids brought them close to Nish. these two together in one room is like LED headlights on a car. they are so fucking bright you're gonna go blind within seconds

nobody knows how- least of all Suns- but Wind ended up growing very fond of and close to Suns. they converse theory and go through simulations together a lot, when Wind's communications aren't down because of the tornadoes. if this was one of those AUs where the iterators, as their puppets, just hang around, those two would be like constantly at each other's hip. often subconsciously. they are like that one fuckin char dynamic meme

Lay me down by Orcas86

This is literally the second fic I ever read. Her first one, above the vaulted sky, was literally the first one I ever read. I adore Orcas86. We both started writing at the same time, posted our first fics the same day, and bonded on tumblr. She's a fabulous writer, and definitely gets you into the emotion of a scene. I have not read the last installment yet, but her fics will always hold a special place because they were the first ones I ever read.

Exile (So Many Signs) series by Coraleeveritas as well as Don’t Worry, Darling, You Don’t Love Who I Am

Really everything by her. It's all so well-written, and pulls you in and doesn't let go. I could read her stories all day. I go back and re-read them. I love the imagery she paints and the dialogue she creates. It paints a perfect visual in my head. Definitely some of my favorites.

In the Shadow of Your Heart by mzladybird

There are passages in this fic that will be burned into my brain for a long time. Well-written with a touch of poetic edge around the corners. There is a prequel to this part, but this second piece is the one that really stands out to me. I'm going to have trouble forgetting it.

A Stressed Tiding by FormerlyIR (Irony_Rocks), Irony_Rocks

. . . I have few words to explain how I feel about this fic. It is at once raw, filthy, and yet so well done. It's a smut fic, but it's also so much more than that? Like, I hate that they only have one night and one day. I hate it. But this fic is magic. My eyes were poppin' out my skull at one point. Lawd have mercy.

Between Us by ninathena

My favorite Modern AU so far. Because I don't care how much she says Halbrand is out of character, I SAY NO. In my head he is utterly consumed by Galadriel, so this is so on point for me. I love pining Halbrand? I really do. I could read it forever. I have re-read this multiple times already.

A Blessing of Eru by Scriberated

Um, goddamn. One of my favorites for sure. Very well-written, so poignant it cuts a mark in you. It was a rollercoaster from start to finish that I soaked up with giddiness the whole time like I do my morning frappuccinos. I could read Scriberated's fics all damn day, too, but then I wouldn't get any of my own writing done.

But mine is as hungry as the sea by Lizzen

My darling, Lizzen, this fic will always hold a special place in my heart. This is smut, but there is so much wanting in it. That underlying current, pulling you under. I felt the undercurrent leading to the ending she gave, and I still kept reading. I couldn't stop myself.

The Waiting Game by Anonymous

I literally cried. Like, real tears. I cried. It hurt. I will never be whole again.

Buried in Bone by Invisible_Hand

It's just really poetic and beautiful, and I find myself doing re-reads on this one, too. The Fall is also fantastic, so I highly recommend both. Invisible_Hand, I need you to write more! I wanna read it! Please!

I'm only a few chapters in, so nobody spoil this for me, but it's so well-written, and I'm slowly working my way through it. Have been highly enjoying this one so far!

Also only recently started this one because it's a really long fic, so I haven't read much of it yet, but goddamn it, the smut is on point, it's also very well-written, and I'm slowly working my way through it, too.
