mike ghosts is really the ideal man like his idea of a good time is eating a trifle and falling asleep in bed his first instinct to fight robbers was to put on a suit of armour he can do throat bass his emotional stability relies on his wife and some guy called obi he has great taste in huge dead stuffed bears hes embarrassed enough to wear swim trunks in the shower cos some dead person is definitely spying on him but he'll run straight through the entire house cock and balls swinging around without a second thought he loves a cottage pie hes always gotta be in control but hes kind of bad at it he Will let a vicar be late for a wedding he is hosting because the vicar wanted to go sledding he is 90% high strung anxiety 10% impulsivity and he is always always down to clown i absolutely love him
I'm writing a fic and it's got me thinking about something that pisses me off about ghosts. If that's not something you're into please scroll on by.
It's about that scene where Alison confronts Pat and Robin for objectifying the weather lady. She has a pretty alright speech where she scolds them for their behavior but what really upsets me is that the writers were like-- proud of that? I remember listening to podcast episode for that ep and one of the writers like commenting that they wrote that plot for Pat (and Robin) because Pat was from the 80s so he's still have some misogyny going on that modern day guys wouldn't. Which, yeah that's probably true but how are we just ignoring the Thomas in the room?
Like, the core concept of Thomas' character is that he won't take Alison's no for an answer and we never actually deal with that. The show teases character growth but Alison never actually calls him out to the point where it sticks. I remember (I think) Matt saying on the podcast that they wanted to explore Alison snapping at Thomas in the ep where he has his Alison detox but like... they don't? She gives him a slightly harsher reprimand at the beginning on the ep and by the end the status quo is back and Thomas hasn't learned anything.
It pisses me off so much because I was really rooting for Thomas to get it. The entire show whenever they teased Thomas realizing what he's done to Alison is wrong, I'd say aloud to my friend, 'He'll get it.' And you know what? HE NEVER DID!
And as much as I could rag on this I'll only mention Julian sexual-harassment-is-funny Fawcett.
I'm just saying they choose to give Pat and Robin the misogyny talk. Pat and Robin? Ok. Sure.
the saddest part about england becoming the hellhole that it is under tory rule and presumably not getting much better when labour win the election (wrt trans rights, immigrant rights, disability rights) is that despite all the horror i don’t want to live anywhere else. i don’t want to sound patriotic and we have a disgusting colonial history inextricable from any culture that we have produced in the past 500 years but i still love it here somehow. an outsider here inevitably, but is that any different to living as an autistic queer person in any other country in that respect? i like the weird small towns that all look exactly the same the old village churches the fields with the cows and hedges and ancient footpaths and the music all the punk and goth and britpop and bad movies and worse tv and classic literature that is perhaps only slightly overrated and i don’t want to be pushed out. i don’t want to have to emigrate again. yes russia is my heritage and i loved the experience of living there with my family for a couple of years before the war, but i was born in england after all so if anything’s a motherland, it’s her. as with any mother, we have an incredibly toxic relationship. but we better get things sorted out soon because it’s just getting worse
tldr: i love england the way one would love an abusive parent . the way grian from fontaines dc speaks about ireland in i love you
14 days! The 14th Doctor and Donna Noble. David Tennant and Catherine Tate are one of my all time brotps. It was such a delight to see them banter again. I think of the 3 specials we got, “Wild Blue Yonder” was my fave. It reminded me so much of Midnight which is one of my all time fave episodes. What were y’all’s faves?
Why can't gay people pick up hints cause bro how did you not understand "you could be so wonderful. You're a genius. You're stone cold brilliant, you are, I swear, you really are. But you could be so much more. You could be beautiful. With a mind like that we could travel the stars. It would be my honour. Cause you don't need to own the universe. Just to see it, Have the privilege of seeing the whole of time and space, that's ownership enough."
ID: Digitially painted Good Omens fanart; a series of one long strip of images cut into smaller images. The first panel reads "Oh Crowley", all subsequent images depict Crowley during a different era. The first is him as we see him at the season 2 finale, the second at the season 1 finale, the third as he appeared in 1967, followed by him in 1941 holding the gun from the bullet catch scene, then we see him as he appeared in 1601, followed by how he appeared in 41 AD, next is him in 33 AD during the crucifixtion, followed by him dressed as Bildad the Shuhite in 2500 BC, second to last is his appearance in 3004 BC before the flood and finally we see him as he appeared on the wall of Eden. The long strip of images is followed by a series of images showing angel Crowley; initially without wings and by himself, before we zoom out to see Aziraphale first looking at him and then glancing away with a worried expression. End ID.
as someone who was familiar with both sherlock and the infamous Supernatural Incident, watching doctor who and realising they had actual gay people gave me such whiplash
The weirdest guy I ever met in a church was this boy who referred to “Buzz Aldrin and his husband” going to the moon. I was completely baffled, and when I asked if he’d misspoken, he got really angry and accused me of being deliberately ignorant of the facts. It turned out that he was somehow comvinced that Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were married. It took five Wikipedia articles to convince him otherwise.
