turn left is literally the most insane episode ever written. yeah the main character would kill himself if he didn't meet his best friend and the UK government is like 2 bad days away from putting all non-english people into labour camps. also all your favourite characters died trying to do what little they could. wouldn't that be crazy? anyway time for the daleks again

Hey you get to see everybody from the spinoffs! They are going to die horribly. Even the kids. Especially the kids. They're going to suffocate on the moon. Oh yeah and all of Torchwood, uhuh. Except for Jack of course. He has to live with it because he can't die :)

And it is SUCH a dark episode but it's so quietly dark. Donna has to sacrifice herself at the end and it's just this quiet heartbreak throughout

something about the doctor telling Donna’s husband to “turn left”

I love how with this show with every rewatch you keep spotting callbacks

thinking about turn left and ten sitting across from donna in that alien bazaar and donna offhandedly saying she’s not special and ten arguing yes, you are without a single moment of hesitation, like it’s a solid fact. how the alternate universe version of ten in turn left doesn’t even get to talk to donna but his words reach her anyway when rose tells donna that he thought donna was brilliant. the way one of the first things tentoo the metacrisis doctor does is tell donna she’s special like it’s so blatantly, wonderfully obvious when she can’t even see it herself. and then fourteen comes back with the same unending love for his best friend and looks her in the eye with such raw honesty and says i care about you and when donna dares try and think she’s no one, he shouts no. she’s not no one, never no one. the doctor really said every iteration of me will love you and every life i get lucky enough to meet you in, i will tell you you’re amazing and worth the world and i won’t stop until you believe it.

Just sitting here realizing the very weird and sad parallels between Rose Tyler accidentally ripping a whole in the fabric of time by instinctively trying to save her father from being killed by a moving car to years later having to be the one to convince Donna she has to go get hit by a car and die to save the multiverse.

I hope Pete’s Universe has really good therapists.
