✨Valar and Valier series (late 2000s)✨ - 🛠️🔥Aule the Smith🛠️🔥 I really like how this one turned out! . Some years ago I started a 'Valar and Valier' project in which I took an existing painting/drawing as reference/inspiration to draw/paint one of the Valar. So far, I've done Varda, Yavanna, Nienna, Mandos and Aulë, and I also have some sketches of Nessa, Vána and Estë. Hope to get back to this project sometime!
🎨Media: Graphite, charcoal, sanguine and blue coloured pencil ✨References: Study-copy of Mac Koch's Wayland, Scandinavian Smith deity. Some minor changes to the original.

South Asian Tolkien Week - Day 1: Ainur
Aulë the Smith
Starting off SA Tolkien week with the Ainur, Aulë! I wanted to portray him creating the dwarves, as it is one of his notable achievements, but also creation is seen as a feminine act, and I like to draw my men soft with more feminine traits instead of being overtly masculine.
Thank you @arwenindomiel for creating this event!

Aule the Smith and Yavanna giver of Fruits
Tumblr media
Bumblebee; bumblebees represent the importance of community and connection. Orchids; Orchids symbolize fertility, love, luxury, beauty, and strength. Gladiolus; Gladiolus symbolizes strength, faithfulness, and reason to remember Marigolds; Marigolds symbolize divinity, creativity, purity, divinity, as well as the connection between life and death. Jasmin flower; Jasmin flowers represent strength and come from the Persian word "Yasmin" which means "gift from god". Field rose; The field rose symbolises resilience, and passion.
Yavanna´s hair changes throughout the season; in Spring she has spring flowers and small new leaves and it´s mostly flat/straight, Summer she has big volumes of round hair filled with big leaves and all kinds of big summer flowers, Autumn she has wavy silhouette with red and orange leaves falling apart, and at Winter she has bare branches with some pines in between.
Aule makes her flower jewelry and she either braids him flower crowns or just places some in his hair.

Proud of you
Summary: Curufinwe can never be good enough. Not even when he tries.
Also on AO3
Curufinwe was not crying. He was definitely, absolutely not crying one bit. And if there was leakage from his eyeballs, they were not tears. And if you absolutely had to classify them as tears, it was not because he was sad.
Because he wasn’t sad. Nor was he in any way heartbroken.
It was just that, well, he was disappointed. In himself most of all.
Father had always stressed the importance of excellence and self-learning and pushing yourself past your limit. Curufinwe wanted to be just like Father. He had always tried to live up to those ideals. He made sure to wake up before the sun every morning to stoke the forge fires, stayed up long past story time writing down his next designs and fell asleep imagining hammer strikes.
He was doing his best. And yet, it wasn’t enough.
Today was supposed to have been the culmination of his hard work, of his multiple revisions of his designs and proof of his efforts. Father had taken the entire family to visit their grandfather at Aule’s forges and Curufinwe had prepared himself to present his newest design to not only his father but also his grandfather, the best and second-best smiths of all the Noldor and most of Aman.
He’d made the entire design in secrecy and had entered it into a local competition under a false name waiting for his father and grandfather to choose it as the winner before revealing himself. He could imagine the proud smile his father would give him and the exuberant congratulations his grandfather would heap on his skill. It would be everything he ever dreamed of.
Only, it hadn’t won.
He had somehow lost to one of his grandfather’s newest apprentices who’d only touched a forge hammer for the first time half a decade ago. Curufinwe had been in a forge his whole life and had been working at his father’s side for the last 20 years.
How was this possible? His design was superb with its triangular interlocking structure and steel folded carefully in the hottest fires he could find. He had stress-tested the model bridge himself and it hadn’t experienced any stress when he put his whole weight on it or when he tricked Huan into sitting on it.
So why had he not placed at all in the competition and instead told that his design didn’t enhance the beauty of Valinor?
What about it wasn’t perfect?
But Father and Grandfather weren’t supposed to know that he entered (he couldn’t tell them since he messed up), so he couldn’t be sad or mad or say anything about the competition. He had kept himself very presentable all through dinner and then through grandfather’s stories. It was only after Grandfather had disappeared to do something for Aule that Curufinwe was able to wander off on his own out of their grandfather’s home and into the forest surrounding it.
He wasn’t crying. He was just a little mad. He just wanted to be alone for a little bit and brood over how unfair the ruling had been.
And he needed to bury his bridge before Father or Grandfather found it and found out that he’d been the one to build it.
And so, the forest. He had found the perfect spot, close enough to the house that Mother could call for him but far enough away that no one would see him dig the hole.
Each shovel felt bitter and he tore at the ground with vigour. Maybe too much vigour that he didn’t realize he’d been found until he heard Tyelko speak right in his ear, “I didn’t know you entered the competition.”
Curufinwe turned to stare at his brother and kick him in the shins. “I didn’t. I’m just getting rid of some junk that I don’t need anymore.”
“By burying it in the forest?” Tyelko rose back to his full height so he could tower over Curufinwe and only smirked when Curufinwe glowered. “I’m pretty sure I saw that bridge at the competition. It was so ugly.”
That was it. Curufinwe tossed the shovel to the ground and threw himself at his brother, punching and tugging and kicking. “It’s not ugly! It’s structurally sound and capable of supporting 10 times any other design presented. The triangles make it stronger. It’s perfect and functional and the judges are stupid for picking the low-lying suspension over this one.”
“Let me see it then!” Tyelko pushed Curufinwe off of him with strength far exceeding Curufinwe’s child body and snatched the bridge from the half-dug hole. He then held the bridge in two hands before cracking it over his knee.
Or he tried to. The bridge held and Tyelko dropped it as he swore. Curufinwe kicked Tyelko for good measure and plucked the structurally sound bridge back up.
“You weren’t kidding about it being strong,” Tyelko moaned even as he rolled back to his feet. “That’s impressive Curvo.”
“Father and Grandfather didn’t think so,” Curufinwe muttered as he returned to his hole.
“Hey,” Tyelko pushed his head until Curufinwe was staring up at Tyelko's mud-stained silver locks. “It’s impressive. Even if Father doesn’t see it, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be proud of your work.”
That made no sense to Curufinwe. “Father is the greatest smith ever. If he doesn’t think it's good then it isn’t.”
Tyelko sighed in a way very reminiscent of Maitimo and pulled Curufinwe’s hair until he was sitting beside his brother. “Father is not all-knowing. I’m certain he didn’t even think to test the prototype’s strength. If he knew you’d made it, I’m sure he would be proud of you.”
“That doesn’t matter,” Curufinwe argued, “Father says he’s proud of us when we do anything. He was proud of Maitimo when he started working in Tirion and when Makalaure composed that awful ballad and when Carnistir made that awful tapestry in pastels and when you killed your first deer. He’s not really proud of the work. He just says he is!”
Curufinwe was panting and kicking at the ground. It was only after that he realized his words and looked up at his brother with guilt boiling in his gut. But Tyelko didn’t look too mad and instead leaned back against a tree and hummed. “He is proud. He’s proud because he’s our father and he’s proud of all our achievements, even yours.”
Curufinwe didn’t agree. What was the point of Father being proud of Curufinwe’s project just because he made it? Did that not mean he could be awful at it and Father would still pretend he liked Curufinwe’s work? He wanted to be recognized and praised for his skill, not for being Father’s son. He worked hard and he was good at what he did. Why could Father not see past his own bias and just appreciate Curufinwe’s work?!
Tyelko looked at him once more with an inscrutable look before he ruffled Curufinwe’s hair and told him again, “Father would be proud. I’m proud of you, squirt. You put a lot of work into this project and you should be proud of your work.”
“Why. It doesn’t matter, does it?” Curufinwe snapped, parroting the feedback, “This is Valinor. No one cares about structural stability. Only ever how beautiful the building is.”
“It’ll have its uses one day,” Tyelko promised him, “And until then, remember, I’ll always be proud of everything you do. I promise.”

Young Fëanor and Nerdanel. "While still in his early youth he wedded Nerdanel, the daughter of a great smith named Mahtan, among those of the Noldor most dear to Aule; and of Mahtan he learned much of the making of things in metal and in stone." Feanorian fall from grace
What if the Valar favoured the feanorians? Wouldn't that make the Darkening and all the Kinslaying even more tragic?
I say yes, so let's dive into it.
So obviously, we start with the easiest Feanorians.
Feanor, Curufin, Nerdanel (yes I'm counting her in, no I will not be answering questions as to why) and Celebrimbor (yes, he also counts, yes he is the cinnamon roll of the family, no that does not make him any less of a chaos agent and mischief maker).
So they, of course, were favoured by Aule. Don't ask me, why (it should be obvious), when nor in what way.
Maybe he guided their hands when they worked, helping them along. I don't know. I'm a writer, and I honestly can't say what smiths, jewelry makers nor sculptors do (that's a lie, it's literaly my thing to say/write something in a way people think I know what I'm doing.)
Second - Maedhros or then Maitimo Nelyafinwe (yes, I'm puting his mother name first, no I will not explain myself). I feel like he would be favoured by Nienna, or Manwe, or both of them. It's a hunch. Nothing more. I just like it. Also maybe, a strong maybe, Este. Because Maitimo is the healer and peace maker of the family. He cares for others and their well being.
Celegrom and Ambarussua are favoured by Orome. They hunt, they love to do it, they care about nature and the hunt and nature cares and loves them. That's the story. Orome is pulled in by the fire of Feanorions and it stays like this (even the kinslaying couldn't fully break the connection)
Caranthir. I headcannon thet he sewed, like Miriel. And thus, Vaire. They are cool with each other. And both like history. I have no idea what is really happening and I'm okey with that. For more detailes go to them. I, however, take no responsibility about what you may find there. (a tea party, and cookies)
And finally Maglor. Here I had a problem bc I had so many ideas and at the same time, none. So heres a list of Valar whom I considered and a little bit of why:
Ulmo - for rather obvious reasons, like you know, wandering the shores, singing to the sea and all that.
Irmo - I know, I know, not something you might expect but.. who is Maglor if not a dreamer at heart? All articians are.. And Maglor can wave his dreams into reality of others minds with his song. So Irmo it is.
Varda - and, here even I paused. Because I have absolutely no idea where it came from. And then I started to consider it and here we are. I think Maglor loves the stars, and Varda likes his voice so here we are, once again. (I will not be answering questions on this one.)
Nessa - I have absolutely no idea. It just feels right and so it shall have a place on this list.
So.. yeah. I know Feanorians and Valar usually don't mix, but the fall from grace would be.. great (not great great but Great). I will maybe write a follow up blog on this about said fall from grace. I might not. I don't know, we will see if motivation strikes me anytime soon.

Is Halbrand Sauron? Probably.
Spoilers ahead!
TL;DR: it’s too lazy for him to be Aragorn 2.0- they want us so badly to come to the conclusion that he’s a lost king, it is too easy for that to be the truth. He’s in the right place at the right time to fill the role of Sauron in Numenor and he is of the right, charming, slippery, calculating disposition.
My main reason is they’re laying on this idea of him being Aragorn 2.0 way too thick and it’s the biggest red herring out there. We’ve seen the ‘lost king fulfilling his fate’ story already in the Lord of the Rings and in the Hobbit and it’s tired and lazy and boring.
So what does Sauron want to do in the books? He wants to infiltrate Numenor and recruit the people there to his side and he successfully does that over years of lies and manipulation when the majority of Numenoreans are poisoned against elves, Valar, and each other because of him. Sauron’s end goal in Numenor is ultimate control.
Now let’s look at the evidence in the first three episodes.
Episode 1:
Gil Galad says that he and Elrond foresaw that if Galadriel had continued trying to stop Sauron, she would inadvertently help him
Episode 2:
When the sea monster comes towards the raft, Halbrand advises to stand still to avoid detection when no one else suggests it and it initially works as it doesnt attack them - how would someone from a landlocked region have any knowledge of an ancient sea monster?
Galadriel asked why he separated his raft from the main one to save himself and he said ‘why be part of the larger target?’ - this could be alluding to the fact that Sauron’s forces are in central middle earth while he’s in the middle of the ocean
He talks about suffering and losing his home - Sauron served Morgoth in the First Age and their home was in Angband which was destroyed by the Valar in the War of Wrath. Sauron lost his home and he lost his master
Galadriel tells Halbrand to bind himself to her which is pretty loaded language when she could have just told him to tie himself to her. It’s at this point that he could have let Galadriel die, but he may already know that she could provide him with leverage in the future.
Episode 3 is where it gets way more obvious
Sauron is a charmer - in the books, Celebrimbor is all but in love with him when he’s in disguise. Halbrand flirts with Galadriel and charms her and goes above and beyond for her, like taking Finrod’s dagger from Elendil to give back to her
The moment he gets a bit of freedom, Halbrand goes to a blacksmith and asks for work and says his work is the best the blacksmith will have ever seen. Sauron is a mighty smith who learned under Aule, the god of smithery. Why’s he so set on having access to a smithy? He goes so far as theft to enable his pathway to work
Sauron took the name of Lord of Gifts when he was disguised with the elves, and what does he do in the tavern? Orders rounds of drinks for everyone
When he’s cornered in the alleyway he fights off 5 strong Numenorians with barely a scratch - Sauron was skilled in hand-to-hand combat
He’s eager to appease Tar-Miriel the queen and be seen as trustworthy. Yes, he is captive at the moment, but he has an easy charm even with great lords and ladies that do not befit his station
The figure at the end of the episode is another red herring - it’s not Sauron himself, but a commander of his, perhaps even the Witch-King of Angmar?
It makes sense that Sauron himself would be far away from the Southlands and the centre of his power when he knows that the elves keep watch - whether that be Gil-Galad from afar, or the Silvan elves who are now withdrawing.
His current location of Numenor where Sauron wants to be, and he is developing his relationship with Galadriel who is key to the entire race of elves. If he can manipulate her, he has an easy journey ahead of him. Remember, she ends up being a ring-bearer herself and although her ring is not made by Sauron, her fate is tied to the One Ring and to Sauron.
He’s also wanting to start crafting whatever and promises his work will be the best. He’s already privy to the two factions in Numenor - those who follow the old king and those who follow the queen - and is beginning to learn more about them.
As already said, he’s a charmer, he’s likeable, he has some sense of destiny about him, and he’s good-looking to boot. That’s Sauron’s go-to disguise. To many people familiar with the lore, it seems obvious that Halbrand is not the good guy Galadriel wants him to be. I think this will also lead into conflict between Gil Galad, Elrond, and Galadriel and a decline in her confidence and place in the world over the coming seasons, along with her rising from the ashes.

Note
This is just me fangirling, but I really loved the scene of Sauron/Halbrand forging that sword in Numenor. I think it captured the fact that while being a villain/sometimes antihero, the Dark Lord was at his core an artist. In contrast to Morgoth, he wanted to create, not destroy, but his standards for perfection were too high for ME. Anyway, I think Charlie did an amazing job in capturing Sauron's essence doing the thing he did best. Without any dialouge, we saw how meticulous and reverent he was in creating a weapon (a simple task since he originally helped Aule forge the actual world 😏). We also saw his rather boyish pride in being able to impress the other smiths with his superior skills. Also, there was nothing hotter (pun) than Halbrand being surrounded by flames and going through the steps of his craft. I find creativity extremely sexy, and I love how Charlie put himself out there to learn all about blacksmithing in order to truly play Halbrand. 👏 👏 👏
I totally agree with all of this!!! 😀 I also loved that scene and even more once we found out it was Sauron. Being a writer I've always loved other artists and learning how they work too as I see similarities in myself even though mine is the literature arts. I know it's why I'm usually drawn to musicians, actors, and other artists. And amazing that Charlie actually learned it first hand.

Are Tolkien’s smiths/creators a metaphor for something??
Like if you think about it hard enough Sauron, Feanor, Curufin and Celebrimbor have something in common. (Even Aule if you go further back, and the dwarves now that I think about it)
So like, they are famous for creating things (Curufin was creating strife) and those who managed to create beautiful things, world changing things met very egregious ends.
Ex.
Feanor, creates the Silmarils, beautiful beyond comprehension, captured the light of the trees, basically challenges creation itself, goes through a series of unfortunate events, dies horribly.
Celebrimbor, tries to be better, creates rings that can shape the music of the world, cast protection, give a certain degree of magic, again, rings to a degree challenge the status quo of creation, gets betrayed by his supposed friend/lover, dies horribly.
Sauron/Annatar, control freak, murders lots of people, a known smith and creator, creates orcs, bending the music and creation, creates more things (bad things), creates the One Ring, direct challenge to Eru and creation, gets obliterated.
Aule, the smith, is there to create things, creates dwarves…. Is told to kill dwarves… apologizes… apologizes a lot, feels kinda like the outcast of the valar.
Dwarves, greedy guys, love to mine, mined so deep found balrog, dead.
So like… what does Eru has against creators? Against people that made things that challenged or changed his og work? I know there has to be a biblical reference out there but I can’t for the life of me remember it atm.
Anyone else has thoughts about this?

The Emperor-Verse: RWBY: Saints of Remnant, a reimagined AU(More details in Keep Reading!)
Tumblr media
Once there was a world by the name of Omnibus. Created by the supreme deity The Author Allfather through the mysterious entity The Storyteller, this world was composed of four holy and mighty kingdoms, ruled by The Author’s Patron Saints whose reign protected the people, human and faunus alike, with their mighty armies, hunters, and their own holy powers from barbarian hordes, and the hordes of The Grimm who were the incarnations of hatred of the fallen seraph Grimmel The Black and his fellow fallen angels
In the dreadful world-shattering war of Ragnarök, the glorious age of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty, and the days of Romance, Heroism Adventure, and Eucatastrophe came to a tragic end.
Now all that remains is the world that is Remnant
But there is a prophecy made by Ozma The First Time Wizard before his death at the hands of The Witch-Emperor, that one day the bloodlines of the original Patron Saints and the families betrothed to them will return to take up these powers, rally armies of the righteous, vanquish the darkness and restore the holy kingdoms and Omnibus and reign over them once more.
Sinners will become Saints
Legends shall be restored and new Legends will be born
And what was a Remnant, Shall Be Whole Again.
But until then, the Hunters lead a struggling battle against the Grimm while the modern kingdoms suffer under corruption of all kinds, both to the benefit of darker forces who have horrifying intentions for the world.
Cue Ruby Rose and her older half-sister Yang Xiao Long, they are about to enter Beacon Academy after being approved by the eccentric Professor Ozpin Pine along with the heiress Weiss Schnee and the introverted faunus Blake Belladonna forming team RWBY
Ozpin has also enrolled a few other students and transferred others.
The former forming team JNPR, and the latter being Team SSSN of Haven Academy
Ozpin seems to have his eye on all of them, but what for?
Heavily inspired by CS Lewis's series The Chronicles of Narnia
Main Ships Contained:
RoseGarden
BlackSun
Iceberg/Arctic Water
Arkos
Renora
and some other ships
Also will contain unorthodox reimagining such as Adam Taurus(He's an initial antagonist turned good) and the White Fang and Jacques Schnee and the SDC with their Canon!Counterparts replaced with substitutes among other things
Currently the concept is in the works in a series of notes.
Details of the Emperor-Verse
Now I'm sure there's some questions you probably are all asking which I assume are the same questions as my blog
“Why are you using your Religion?”
Mostly due to it being a strong foundation, notably theology, for most of my stories, there are many strong foundations of storytelling, religion, history, you can even fantasize science if you put the imagination, time, and effort into it.
After doing some soul searching and listening to the Narnia books on Audible, it became another important element in making this au and I might include elements of CS Lewis’ Space Trilogy
This AU is set in my fictional Multiverse The Emperor-Verse which Narnia is implied to exist in, or I should say had existed in(its set after The Last Battle)
“Isn’t this kind of entitled and disrespectful?”
Disagreement isn’t necessarily malicious, and entitlement is not inherently bad if its your opinions and subjective feelings which people are entitled to.
Tolkien was heavily inspired by his distaste for how Shakespeare handled certain concepts, such as the Ents when he was upset and dissatisfied that there were no walking talking trees in the Enchanted Fortest of Macbeth, and the Valar Aule the Smith and the origin of the Dwarves make him something of an Anti-Prometheus
Not to mention Philip Pullman, the author of His Dark Materials Trilogy, made it out his distaste how CS Lewis made the Chronicles of Narnia and his overall beef with Christianity, and nobody seems to take issue with that.
I’m not saying the direction RWBY went with V3 or Pyrrha and the rest of the cast potentially ending tragically in some way or another is objectively bad, it was just not my taste
And I am not saying every normal RWBY fan/RWDE person who liked it is an elitist about it nor are all of them trying to insult me and attack me personally or say my ideas are bad
Nor I’m not trying to change canon or its “trajectory” , nor am I doing this to spite Monty, especially when I never knew the guy. This is a difference in handling ideas and concepts.
I’m doing my RWBY AU, which will most likely be revamped into an original story since it takes a whole different directions with the characters and world, but it's mostly because with post V3 and now in retrospect I saw what this world, characters, ships and other ideas could have been all in a story I believe is worth telling. And I was disappointed that it wasn’t.
I mean yeah it's also due to personal tastes and preferences and subjective feelings, at least I’ve been told, but I also try to integrate that in a meaningful way.
So I hope you all enjoy what I have to offer, which will most likely be put on AO3 and FanFiction.Net, and who knows, I might get a few artists to commission to redesign some characters or illustrate some scenes if anyone is up for it.

I swear I wrote this down before, but I cant find it in any of my notes so here's a little fun idea! When the world gets recreated so its no longer Arda Marred, I think the Valar got together and Looked at the Finwe problem and shrugged and decided to make all of Miriel and her descendants Maiar to slove that tricky little problem of Remarriage.
Because the Feanorians are now Maiar, they aren't technically born, meaning they aren't really siblings and part of the same family so there is no real issue in separating them now is there?
Miriel is one of Vaire's weavers of course, and Feanor is one of Aule's most talented smiths, but that is understandable as he is the spirit of Hearth Fire itself. There are others within Aule's Halls, but their knowledge of each other is passing, for Celebrimbor tends to stay with the jewelry makers and Curufin likes creating hunting gear for Orome's hunt
Orome is almost never seen without his most prized hunter, Celegorm, who prefers a form that looks more wolf than Elf.
Vana, Orome's wife, herself has a pair of giggling and twittering songbirds that follow her around as she follows her husband's Hunt. They dance and sing and twirl in sync that many often just call the pair of them by a singular name, Ambarussa.
Irmo within his forest full of Song and Music has a very talented Maia that is so in tune with thr Song that they can play with it however they choose. Maglor only uses this ability to give the Elves good dreams, of course.
Este is forever thankful of her assistant Caranthir, who keeps all her medical necessities and books in order, so she is always prepared to help those in need, even if he himself doesn't have the best beside manner.
Lady Nienna’s Maia, Maedhros is a bit more of a recluse. He is charming when spoken too, but there is something distant, some type of lingering melancholy that clings to him, like a weak dawn in the deepest days of winter. He tends to hide himself away in the forests surrounding Formenos, helping those who are lost find their way back home.
Then there are Finwe and his beautiful wife Indis, their children, and many grandchildren. They are a stunning example of a happy family, and all the citizens of Tirion love having them as their royal family. Nothing is ever wrong, even when Fingolfin’s daughter Aredhel got lost during a hunt, she was lucky enough to be escorted back to her worried brothers' camp.
Fingon, who had never felt the degree of terror that flooded his veins at the thought of his sister lost in the woods, terror that was much stronger than what was called for because what could befell her in their peaceful land of Valinor?
She was being ferried on the back of a behemoth of a horse, pristine and laughing at the antics of the silver wolf-like Maia walking at her side. The horse was being led by a silent Maia, who smiled softly at the pair but made no move to include himself.
Fingon looked up at the tall Maia, and felt something in his fea shatter. He always had felt like something was missing, that he would havr an urge to go looking for someone he could never find, catch himself looking up to share an idea with someone who must have been taller than him only to look up at empty air. His bed felt so cold, but no matter how high he tended the hearth flames he knew it was because it was empty. He would look to the distant mountains and see a dawn peaking over their tops and weep as something in his fea ached.
Everything felt so overwhelming when he looked at this Maia, this being that looked cold, who wore furs and had snow dusting his shoulders even though it was a warm sunny summer day. Fingon was so lost in the sensations swirling within him that he was too slow to act before the Maia helped Aredhel off his horse, swung up himself and was out of the clearing. That wolfish Maia giving his sister a laughing twirl before bounding off into the thicket, chasing after the distant horn call.
Fingon’s knees felt weak, he found himself sinking to the forest floor. This world may be Arda Remade, but he still felt Marred.
#amber rambles#Silmarillion#maedhros#Feanorians#fingon#there was more to this that i thought i wrote down#basically the story is in Arda Remade fingon finds that he is the only one in his family that feels Off#he doesnt knkw why. no one has memories of arda marred but fingon knows he lost something precious to him in the remaking#finwe is worried for his eldest grandson. he doenst know why seeing someone he loves turn so melancholic makes him afraid#it just does. so he urges fingon to visit Lorien to soothe his Fea and heal#here he meets Caranthir and Maglor and he feels a connection to both and spends a lot of his time he#there bothering the both of them and he shares his feelings with maglor who just humms and agrees with him#that the Music within his fea is missing something.maybe someone? maybe hes supposed to go out and find them#maglor tells him to let the Music guide him and Caranthir gives him supplies and then fingon is off#he travels around Valinor by himself. where he meets the other non-Feanorians and feels pieces slot together#his most eye opening experience was meeting with the Maia Feanor and his Elf lover Nerdanel up in Formenos#she agrees with him that what hes feeling is valid as she also lost something in the Remaking#she cannot have children and this aches as she has dreams of a full house and 7 perfect sons that are no longer hers#she shows him her sculptures and as he looks he realizes he has met most of them on his journey! not elves like she has created#but Maiar who under their unnatural differneces look almost identical to these sculptures#he pauses at the last one. the unfamiliar one. Nerdanel sighs and says she feels like this one was her first born#the one she lost even before the Remaking. Fingon feels the same. this face makes him ache.#he wanders the forest that night haunted by these people. these elves he feels like he should know but doesnt. hes so in his thoughts#he doesnt realize hes lost. he calls out into the woods and hears nothing call back but his echos. a chill crawls up his spine#his breath begins to fog and there is a sound behind him and he twirls and there is rhat sculpture. his missing piece#Dont Worry. the figure of Winter and Memory says to him. I Found You#You Found Me. Fingon replies
