#aria's 150 follower celebration
Note
I'm sorry if this is a repeat! It said something went wrong with my ask when I tried to send it!
Congratulations on 150 followers! That is quite a feat to accomplish and deserves celebrating. Have some confetti!
I have a request for Rex. SFW or NSFW is up to your discretion and if you want to ignore altogether, you can. No worries!
How about a fic with an introverted reader who's more reserved with Rex in terms of affections in public, and not only because of GAR regulations? She might snuggle into his side, hold his hand, hug and kiss when no one's looking, but that's it. Maybe she starts feeling a little insecure over how Rex might feel about it (probably because she sees other girls hanging all over his men at 79's/maybe someone tried to flirt with Rex because it's not obvious that they're together) and they have a heart-to-heart.
Like I said, you can ignore this if you want. It's just that I've read quite a few fics with readers who are much more extroverted and forward with Rex in the PDA department. Haven't read many with us more introverted type girls. Just because we're a little stiff in public doesn't mean we don't get wild for our special someone behind closed doors.
Hi Nonnie!! Thank you so much for asking this, and thank you for celebrating with me! Honestly, I loved this ask, and I completely got carried away. I accidentally wrote 1500 words and I probably could have easily written another 1000 more if I had time. I also haven't written for Rex in ages (a crime!), and I missed it! This was very personal, so thank you for trusting me with this request. I hope I did it justice!
Pairing: Rex x F!Reader
Warnings: Feelings of self-doubt and inadequacy, Jealousy, Sexual themes/implied sex

You and Rex have been dating for a few months now, and it’s been - well - a dream. He was everything you had ever hoped for and more in a partner. Rex was kind, he was caring, he was unbelievably handsome, and he was charming in his own sweet and occasionally awkward way. Even with your busy schedules, he always made time for you with date nights out on Coruscant and surprise flowers while he was away. You thought that the GAR would be more concerned about one of their high-ranking clone officers having a relationship with a civilian mechanic, but you quickly learned that there weren’t any rules against it. If anything, Anakin and Ahsoka had been almost helpful - almost. Rex told you later that the Jedi had teased him so badly about his obvious crush that Obi-wan finally begged him to ask you out so it would stop distracting “those two impossible children”.
The only thing that worried you about your relationship had almost nothing to do with Rex. If anything, it was your problem. You were more introverted. You always have been.  You had your close friends and didn’t mind getting to know new people if the situation was right, but you rarely put yourself out there, except for that one time that Fives forced you to do karaoke with him, and you swore that your cheeks burned red with embarrassment for a week. Up until now, you’d never considered it a fault. Being introverted made you careful, thoughtful, and caring, all traits you loved about yourself. And, of course, Rex had never made you feel anything less than special, but you were starting to worry if you made him feel special enough. Your reserved nature meant you had trouble expressing your feelings for him, especially in public. When you were on duty, the two of you hovered near each other but always kept it professional. Even when you were able to relax, like out at 79’s with the other members of the 501st or on brunch dates to Dex’s, you would steal a kiss in a quiet moment, lean against him in the booth, or hold his hand under the table, but that was the extent. Sometimes, you would watch him laughing along with his brothers, whose partners sat on their laps and hung around their necks, and you wondered if it was enough - if you were enough.
Tonight was one of those nights. Despite the loud music of 79’s, Rex’s hand occasionally grazing your knee, and the antics of Torrent Company, you couldn’t shake this feeling of being too shy. And now, as if you weren’t already feeling insecure, you had a front-row seat to the cute waitress flirting with Rex. You couldn’t fault her. How could Rex not catch her eye? With his close-cropped blonde curls, the tight compression shirt that covered his top half, his cool smile, and his kind manners, Rex stood out, even in a bar full of clones. She had spotted him the moment she came to wait on your table. And the beautiful young woman had made her intentions clear, been dropping hints all night about being single while her lingering eye contact progressed to gentle touches of his shoulder. Now your stomach twisted as she ran her hand along his arm, asking if he needed another drink. You wished you were bold enough to kiss him right in front of her, but even as badly as you wanted to, you knew you couldn’t. Instead, you looked away.
“I’m all set.” Rex gave a nod to the beautiful woman before he leaned back away from her.
Under the table, his hand found yours and gave you a small squeeze. He nodded to Jesse, who quickly jumped in and began chatting with the waitress.
Later that night, you couldn’t shake the image. Even as Rex wrapped himself around you in bed, his breath hot on your neck and his hands on your hips, you couldn’t close your eyes without seeing how her hand grazed him.
“Rex,” You whispered his name into the darkness.
“Hmm.” The groggy syllable was quickly followed by a kiss to the back of your neck as if he had been drifting and just remembered where he was.
“Rex, can I ask you a question?”
“Course.” The reply came quickly. Rex was awake now.
“Does it bother you I’m not…I’m not more extroverted?”
The question came out in a tumbling exhale. As you took another breath, you held it and chewed on your lip while you waited for a response. Behind you, the mattress shifted and Rex coughed as he began to stutter.
“I’m… uh… you’re going to have to give me more than that, mesh’la.”
You could hear him running his hand along the back of his head, and your heart panged at the nervous tic. You loved him, truly and deeply.
“It’s just… that waitress at 79’s was really flirty tonight, and I’m not mad. I don’t blame her. Like, look at you. You deserve to be flirted with and doted on and all that PDA. I wish I could do that, but it’s just not me, and you… you deserve more.” You stumbled over the words. They felt heavy and tilted as you tried to form them, but you knew you had to get them out. Rex deserved more, and he should understand that.
“Is that what you think, mesh’la?” Rex’s arms found you as he sank in close behind you once again, wrapping around your waist and pulling you tight against him. “That you’re not enough for me?”
“You deserve more.” The floodgates were open, and you couldn’t hold back anymore. “You’re incredible, Rex. You deserve someone who shows you in all the ways, someone who’s brave enough for public displays of affection, and that’s not me. I wish I could, but I’m never going to be the girl that’s sitting on your lap at 79’s or making out with you in a dark corner.”
“Thank the Maker.” Rex snorted into your shoulder. “Far too much risk of running into Fives or Jesse there.”
“I’m serious, Rex.”
“I am too.”
You sighed. He didn’t get it.
“Hey,” Rex reached and turned on your bedside light. “Look at me, mesh’la.”
You turned to face the man you loved. He laid his arm out so you could tuck your head in his elbow. The dim light caught his deep brown eyes, and the marbled flecks twinkled as Rex stared at you. His look was serious, but a soft smile settled across his face as he studied your features.
“I… I know what I deserve.” Rex chose his words carefully. “And I know what I want. And I’ve never wanted anyone more than I want you. I love our moments. I love that we can check in with each other over a glance and that when you squeeze my hand, you’re saying I love you. I don’t want big displays. I want you. Don’t I deserve what I want?”
“Yes,” You glanced down at the crumpled covers between you.
It was true. You also loved how your eyes always found his, even in a crowded room. You loved your own special language of unspoken words and connections. The doubt that had gnawed at you from the inside out began to abate. You’d never met anyone more clear-headed than Rex, and no one deserved what they wanted more than Rex. Time and time again, he always made it clear that what he wanted was you.
“Well then,” He placed the knuckle of his index finger under your chin and slowly tilted your head back up towards him. “What’s the problem then?”
“I guess there’s none.” You gently shrugged.
“That’s what I thought.”
His hand moved from below your chin and unfurled itself as he clasped your cheek. You leaned into his palm, savoring its heat. Gently, he guided your face up to meet his.
Rex’s lips found yours softly at first, meeting your kiss at the same time you were washed over with a grateful feeling for his love. You had found someone who understood you and saw you for all that you were. Someone as incredible as Rex. The kiss deepened as his hands fell to your hips. You met him as that grateful feeling turned into a breathless need.
“You have to know how much I want you.” He rasped as he dug his fingers into your skin.
“I do, Rex.” You pecked his lips one more time before you pulled away.
With a hand on his shoulder, you gently pushed on Rex’s broad chest until he rolled onto his back. You sat up and swung your leg over to straddle him, grinding against him as you moved. You could feel him start to harden against you. Rex’s eyes flashed as his hands found your hips again, pulling you even tighter as he instinctively searched for friction. You leaned down to whisper in his ear.
“Now, let me show you how much I want you.”

Karrde's Fandom Friday Rec #1 (8/4/23)
My first rec this week HAS to go to @ariadnes-red-thread for this NSFT 18+ Fives x F!Reader ficlet she did for her 150 followers celebration (CONGRATS AGAIN, ARIA!). I am such a Fives girlie, I feast on every fic of him I can find, and BOY HOWDY Aria delivers with this one. What I find a lot of times is Fives is kind of portrayed as this cocky, assertive, hurried partner (which is VERY much in his character, don't get me wrong), and while some of those elements are in this fic, I think Aria also portrayed a softness that just makes me MELT. It's still everything we love about Fives, but with this gentleness I'm positive he'd have with someone he's been with for a while, someone he knows and treasures, and just OOOF it's spicy, but also HITS ME RIGHT IN THE FEELS in the best way. I ADORE IT and will ABSOLUTELY be revisiting it!

Participate in Fandom Friday to show your favorite creators from this week some love! :)

The last month of the year is often associated with finishing and endings. However, this month we had a broody chicken and she hatched ten chicks. This is the first clutch of chicks for our chickens, so for me, December 2019 will always be associated with a new start.
Tumblr media
In this post, I’ll update you what about all the creative projects I’ve worked on in November and December. I won’t reflect on the new year because I do that on my birthday in November.
My birthday or wow what a year was 2019
It’s my birthday and wow what a year was 2018
I will mention one goal in the conclusion though because sometimes it is good to make a headstart with good intentions to avoid the rush in January.
New quilt or embroidery projects
Quilted kitenge fabric pillows
This month I worked on quilted pillows made with a combination of Kitenge fabric and solids. Kitenge is a fabric popular among places in East-Africa and thus also Kenya where I live now. In the picture, you see three of them. More information about how to make them and the patterns I used will follow in a post later this month.
All the fabrics used are sourced from tailors. Tailors are a great place to get cheap materials and also to turn waste into something valuable. I’ve talked before about more environmentally friendly ways to find materials in the post below:
How to get good materials for quilting and embroidery creatively and cheap

Quilted Kitenge fabric pillows
Kitenge quilted baby blanket
The wife of one of my friends is pregnant. My mother has as traditional to quilt a baby blanket for people and I want to honour that tradition. My blanket is going to be bigger than hers because it is more practical to give people something to carry their baby around in.

Progress ongoing quilt and embroidery projects
Dear Jane Sampler quilt
Behold … ,
Tumblr media
… this month I finished the top five rows of my Dear Jane Quilt! It is amazing to see all the quilt blocks come together like this. And this is not everything: this month I’ve also finished 129 of the 169 square middle blocks of this quilt. This means the middle blocks are more than three quarters done. A post will follow to celebrate that occasion. For now, I’ll present the post where I detail about the five rows milestone.
A happy milestone: Five rows of the Dear Jane Quilt completed!
Quilting of the Kenyan quilt
The Kentan quilt is another one of my long-term projects. The quilt top is done and now I am hand quilting it. If you do a little bit every month it’ll be done before you know it.
Why would you hand quilt: The HQAL and my Kenyan quilt
Foundation piecing Kenyan inspired quilt
Yes, I am making another Kenyan quilt. This is going to be made with foundation paper piecing (FPP). Also, I will design most of the patterns myself inspired by elements that fit with my Kenya experience. The block below is made with a pattern by Amarar Creacions. She has a lot of interesting FFP patterns with animals.
Tumblr media
Stained glass cross stitch dragon
Before I started this cross stitch project I had been eyeing it for months. Therefore, you can imagine my excitement when I finish the dragon’s head this month! The pattern is made by the always lovely and amazing Pinkythepink.
Hot air balloons cross stitch
There was some progress on this piece as well this month. Not a lot of progress though, so we can play a game: do you spot the difference between the two pictures below?
The pursuit to finish very old projects
The project on the picture below I started a long time ago. The plan was to create a night scenery with a figure who is stargazing.  That plan is still alive, however, I stumbled on execution. Most of my quilt designs are abstract. This means that more realistic scenery is a challenge. I am sure I will think of a way to finish this one eventually though. Sometimes it simply takes longer for a quilt to be born.  This quilt hangs on my wall for me to find inspiration to finish it in the next year.
What do you do when you are stuck on a project?
Tumblr media
Conclusion: beginning early to fulfil the scariest goals
Although I said I would not reflect on the next year, I am going to do it anyway. Often when I have an idea or plan to further my goals and dreams I struggle to execute it because of fear. It is some kind of self-sabotage that freezes my body and mind and makes me unable to do anything. However, I’ve also noticed that fear gets less when I talk about my plans and find a way to execute them step by step.
My big dream is to become a fabric artist and to inspire people to pick up embroidery or quilting through my work. One day I would like to pursue teaching as well and selling some of my work. For that, I need to be more active in social media. If nobody sees your work it is impossible to inspire people. Also, I think it is good to add my positive voice of making beautiful items out of discarded materials to all the voices telling us to consume more and more. Therefore a facebook page where I share my art is a good next move.
I haven’t started one yet though because of the fear I mentioned. It is partly a fear of failure and partly a fear of ridicule. Both are unlikely to be true because I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback so far. Also, failure is unlikely when you set achievable goals and work towards them diligently. Fear of showing myself to the world has always been a part of me though. It took me more than a year to be comfortable sharing my blog with people and to be open about my passion for quilting and embroidery. Something I already talked about in this article:
How I convinced myself to exhibit my quilting art
So, to avoid spending even more time talking about it instead of doing it, here is the link to my facebook page:
Bella G. Bear Art Facebook page
I’d love it if you’d check it out and follow me. Also, any tips or feedback on how to run a facebook page is so much appreciated.
Some questions for you:
Do you have a creative facebook page for me to follow?
Which was your bravest creative achievement? How did you find the courage to go for your plans?
What is something you want to do creative wise, but you haven’t found the courage for yet?
Which social networks for creative people do you prefer? I have a website, Facebook, Instagram and DeviantArt and it would be good to know where people go so I know where to put my focus.
What have you missed?

Next up is tonight’s headliners ACR direct from MCR (A Certain Ratio from Manchester), Members are Jeremy Kerr (vocals, bass), Denise Johnson (vocals), Martin Moscrop (guitar), Donald Johnson (drums), Tony Quigley (keys, sax) and Matt Steele (keys). The band took to the stage to a full venue ready to party with the band celebrating 40 years, their unique sound of Dub / funk had the audience in full swing. Tonight’s show was dedicated to a fan that lost his life, Robert Clifford this was announced by Jez (Jeremy Kerr), Funk beats and full of energy the band play through an epic setlist going through their back catalogue.
Featuring tracks “All Night Party”, “Do The Du” & “Flight”, the band played a excellent cover of Taking Heads “House in Motion” that with ACR sound brought the song to life. Standing back and listening to the band play, and the sound they create, you can see why there was so many other bands that followed their style in later years. With the likes of Stereo MC’s, Arcade Fire and M People.  Denise Johnson, the voice and soul that would give Heather Small (M People) a run for her money any day. Denise has performed with Primal Scream & Electronic to name a few, her vocals are something to behold on ACR “Wild Party”.
The band crammed on to the small stage in the venue, with Martin Moscrop switching from guitar to drums with Donald Johnson taking over on guitar. You could feel the floor in the venue bouncing with the dub sound created. The fans packed the venue with not an inch of space not being used. The band are back on top form like they were over previous decades.

Highlights of the evening are “Mickey Way”, “27 Forever” & “Good Together”, with sound of Joy Division and New Order coming through Jez’s vocals, lyrics that hold true to this decade. The Band finished off the evening with “Dirty Boy” before fan favourites “Shack Up” & “Si Fir Mir”, a night to remember and the band are on top form celebrating their 40th year Anniversary. The unique use of cow bells, trumpets and Saxophone gives the band a big sound condensed in to a jar then opened to give ACR an unique sound.
The band have currently released ACR BOX a collection of the bands back catalogue well worth purchasing, featuring 54 tracks either on  4 CD or 7 coloured vinyl box set.
Check them out at a venue near you to feel the dub funk with an edge, the 40 year old party band.

Is there any better season for reading than autumn? Maybe you can still sit outside, but you might need a cozy blanket or a cup of tea. Maybe it’s raining and you curl up with a good book by the window. Or maybe it’s an indian summer and you can still lay out in the sun. Whatever the case, half the year has passed and we can see what people have been reading so far this year.
Publishers weekly just released their list of top selling books. President Barack Obama gave us his best summer reads of 2019! And I stopped by the British chain Waterstones and indie book seller Brick Lane Bookshop to see what was at the top of their lists! So if you still don’t have any books lines up for fall, you might find some here. Or follow my Journey around the world in books, where every month I choose to read authors from different countries! I’ve already had some amazing reads from Ireland, China,  and The Philippines!

(I personally tried it and could not get into it, maybe I’ll try again at some later time.) A close second is the praised book by Michelle Obama (and for good reason, the book is amazing!) Rachel Hollis has 2 books on the list! (You go girl!) and I have personally just started listening to Girl, wash your face. Just four chapters in and I’m hooked! Added her on instagram for a daily dose too!
President Obama’s summer reading list 2019
The last couple of years President Barack Obama has been sharing in August what he has read during the summer, and if you’re in doubt about what to pick up during the fall, his list is usually pretty epic.

I’m still on my literary journey around the world and I will be reading books from Norway, India, Nigeria and Italy the rest of the year. I’ve been wanting to watch My brilliant friend on HBO, but I’m waiting to read the book first! Hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze in a few books off these lists too! I especially have my eye on Sally Rooney, Tara Westover, Tayari Jones and Madeline Miller.

Best books of 2019 so far… Is there any better season for reading than autumn? Maybe you can still sit outside, but you might need a cozy blanket or a cup of tea.

The hotel room was… luxurious. There was no other word for it. To start, a floor to ceiling window looked out over the rooftops of Coruscant. The moons dazzling in the windows, lit the rest of the bedchamber in a silvery glow and splashed like glittered paint against the dark oak of the other three walls. All other light came from a single, moody chandelier that hung low enough from the vaulted ceiling that it seemed to be dangling from the darkness itself. Pushed up against the wall opposite the window, and occupying most of the room, was a large, round bed, easily bigger than anything you’d ever slept on and likely bigger than your tiny closet of a room on the Venator. It was covered with a plush dark gray duvet and several light gray satin pillows. A full bar was tucked into the dark wood beside the bed, stocked with fine bottles of Corwellian whiskey and Naboo wine, which the kind twi’lek working the front desk of the hotel had informed you were complimentary.
You couldn’t imagine how much Padme had paid for this room and it turned your stomach a little just to consider as you took in all of the fine details. The stay was a gift, she had whispered to you as she pressed the key into your hand during a tight hug after you and her husband had debriefed the Senate on your latest battle. It was a thank you, she quickly and quietly explained, for looking out for Anakin once again. There was also the unspoken connection of shared secrets. You knew she felt for you and Fives. Unlike her and Anakin, with her senatorial suite, you had no refuge, no where for you to relax. It was always stolen moments in dark corners. Still, the cost of it all twisted at you and you frowned, wishing she hadn’t gone through the trouble until your eyes landed on Fives’ face. Then, you realized you would have paid the price yourself, however many credits it was, without even thinking.
The clone stood at the window, his dark eyes glittering in the moonbeam that fell across his face. A soft smile lay on his lips and he stared out over the skyline of the city in silence. From here, the penthouse of one of the tallest buildings on the planet, the neon of the city below twinkled like colorful stars in a far-away galaxy.
You quickly crossed the room to him, wrapping your arms around his core and hugging him from behind as you stood on your toes to peer over his shoulder and share the striking view.
“I’ve never seen it like this.” Fives finally spoke. “Always lookin’ through my HUD or hanging out the side of a gunship or too busy to even look. It’s… almost peaceful.”
You dropped your gaze and pressed a kiss against the warm skin of his neck. The smell of blaster plasma struck you. It wasn’t overpowering but it was a sharp contrast to the woody perfumed scent of the room. It shouldn’t have been surprising. You came here straight from the briefing, throwing on civilian clothes and stuffing your Jedi robes into your satchel in a remote bathroom far away from the more busy halls of the Senate before you rushed to meet Fives in one of your designated, rotating meeting spots. He appeared as you did, out of breath and in wrinkled civilian clothes. While the change of clothes may have helped hide your identities, it did little to free either of you from the grime of the battlefield that still clung to your skin.
You squeezed your boyfriend tightly around the waist before you let go. Turning back towards the room, you spotted an unexplored door near the bed that whispered promises of a bathroom and perhaps even a shower.
Before you could move, Fives’ form spun and out of the corner of your eye, you watched as he dove from his spot by the window into the bed. He let out a revenant groan at the lux mattress as he sunk into its forgiving embrace.
“We’re never leaving here.” He declared. “Tell Padme we’re moving in.”
“I’ll let her know.” You chuckled at the ARC trooper.
Fives rolled onto his side, found your eyes, and patted the duvet next to him. It’s soft surface invitingly gave way under his hand.
“Now come here, mesh’la.” His words were playful, but you could hear promises in the low timbre of his voice.
You wanted nothing more than to have him make good on those unspoken pledges, but the smell of blaster plasma still haunted you.
“I’m going to shower.” You sighed, flashing a sad smile at your boyfriend.
Fives groaned, his head flopping back onto one of the pillows as his face scrunched into a pout.
“You could always join me.”
You smirked at Fives just long enough to watch him lift himself up, and his jaw drop open. Then, with a teasing saunter towards the bathroom, you turned your back to him as you pulled your shirt over your head and cast it aside You waited until you opened the door before you paused for just a moment. Reaching up to the clasp of your bra, you glanced over your shoulder. Fives was sitting up in bed, his spine straight, jaw still hanging, and a dark hunger in his eye. With a wink and a flick of your wrist, you let you bra fall to the floor and pulled the door shut b behind you.
The bathroom was as stunning as the bedroom. White tile and marble covered almost every surface. Two panes of glass - true glass, not transparisteel - encased a corner of the room for the shower. The other two walls and the floor of the shower were dark, semi-polished stone. It was a real water shower, with one head that hung off the wall and another that came down in the middle of the shower. When you swung open the glass door and turned the water on, it cascaded from the ceiling like rain.
You heard the door open. Fives was already behind you and, from the sound of rustle of fabric, quickly shedding his clothing.
His chest pressed against your back, bringing a heat that sent a warmth pooling through your body. His hands gilded around your waist and down the soft skin of your stomach. As his lips found your neck, he unbuttoned the clasp of your pants and let them drop to your ankles, pushing your panties down along with pants.
Fives carefully spun you towards him and you stepped out of the last fabric, kicking them aside. You grinned up at him, expecting your playful boyfriend to be grinning back. Instead, Fives stared down at you with an uncharacteristically faraway look.
“You okay?” You reached up, a palm coming to his cheek.
Fives leaned into your touch as he gave a small nod.
“Just…” His eyes quickly snapped to focus on you. “...feeling lucky.”
You gently tilted his face to you and pressed a soft kiss on his brow
“Me too.” You murmured against his skin before you tugged him, stepping backwards over the lip of the shower. “Now, come on.”
You pulled Fives under the rain of the center head, letting the warm liquid run down your bodies. His lips found yours in a bruising kiss. His tongue entered your mouth, intertwining and dancing with yours. The water fell over your skin like a chant, reinvigorating your battle-tired body. You both began to awaken, your hands moving slowly over each other’s bodies, exploring the lines you know so well.
Breaking the kiss, you reached for the one of the crystal bottles that sat on the small recessed shelf. Glancing at the labels, you found the hotel’s body wash and emptied a third of the bottle into your hands. You brought your hands to Fives’ wide chest while you created a small lather. You let your palms dance across his body, tracing old scars, trailing along taut muscles, rubbing away the remnants of battle, and, as you trailed your way behind him, massaging the stress from his hard-working limbs. He let out a soft moan at your touch.
“Feels so good, cyare.” Fives muttered, his back to you as you worked a knot in his shoulder. “You’re spoiling me.”
“Not yet,” you promised.
Your hands wrapped around his waist, ghosted down over the ribbed muscles of his stomach and finally found his half-hard member. Fives shuddered as you took him in hand, bucking at your touch. You ran your thumb in slow circles around his tip as you slid your other hand down towards his base.
He leaned back into you with a sigh as his head fell towards his chest, not enough to where you were supporting him but enough to where you knew the havoc that you were wreaking on him. You squeezed gently as you worked him, feeling him throb and pulse under your hand as his cock hardened and leaked.
“That’s enough,” Fives finally hissed through gritted teeth as he firmly wrapped his hands around your wrists and tugged you away from his cock. “My turn.”
Not letting go of your wrists, he spun towards you, crossing your arms over and leaving you at his mercy. He passed your left wrist into his left hand, holding both your arms in his grip. You looked up at the wrecked look on his face and knew he was holding you for his own protection. He wanted this to last and you had brought him to the brink. Fives reach for the soap on its tiny polished perch. Unscrewing the top off with his teeth, he drizzled another third off the bottle over your shoulders and down your chest. Then he pulled you towards him before he released your hands.
His wide, usually rough palms were soft from the  water. He pressed them into you, using the soap and the warm liquid to pull the tiredness from your muscles, releasing the stress and ache from your body. His hands reached over you to run down your spine, and then back up and over your shoulders, where he traced his way down your chest. With his long and wide pointer finger, he began to draw small circles along your breast, stopping on to tease your nipple with his knuckle. After the flesh raised underneath his touch, he caught it between his knuckle and his thumb, tugging at your nipple just enough so that it pinched in the sweetest way. Fives chewed on his lip as he watched you sigh and gasp under his ministrations, never breaking eye contact, holding your dark pupils with his blown ones.
His hand finally foraged on, tracing its way through the droplets that ran down your skin. After drawing a line down the etching of your hip, Fives spread his first two fingers and ran them gently along the outside of your lower lips. A small squeak escaped you at his teasing.
“Easy, mesh’la.” Fives flashed a wicked smile. “You’ll get what you need.”
His hands found your hips and he pressed you into the back wall before he fell to his knees. Emerging from the stream of the shower and the touch of the cool stone was a sharp contrast to the warm water and the heat of Fives. Goosebumps spread over your skin at the change and in anticipation. Fives grinned up at you from his knees one more time before he pressed his swollen lips to your hip. He laid one delicate kiss after another along your inner thigh as he moved closer and closer to your aching core. Finally, his tongue found its way between your lips and he circled around your delicate bundle of nerves. You canted your hips at the feeling. He replied with a strong palm to your belly, holding you in place while he dove into your center. Fives lapped wave after wave, his tongue dancing along your lips, delving into your depths, and drawing rapturous designs into your most sensitive skin.
“Fives,” you mumbled his name in between punched-out words of praise. “Feels so-so good.”
Your hand found purchase in his thick curls and he let out a small moan against you as you tugged, reverberating your core. Fives was never shy about his love of praise or how he liked it when you pulled his hair. Two thick fingers ran through your folds, collecting slick. He paused his ministrations for a moment as he sat back on his heel. Fives brought the finger ups to his mouth and gilded them between his lips. Slack-jawed at the gorgeous sight, you still found yourself lightly thrusting into the air, searching for friction as the sudden lack of attention drove you a little mad.
Fives looked up, catching your eye with his wide grin as he pulled the glistening thick fingers form his mouth. The water rained down on him but he still held your stare.
“So sweet,” Fives huffed. “I could drown in your pussy.”
Before you could say anything, his two fingers slid home. You let out a groan at the sudden but needed intrusion. He slowly teased you open, hooking his fingers to find your sweet spongy spot, and then spreading them to prepare you with a promise of more. Each movement brought heat and electricity to your most sensitive spots and you felt a warmth began to collect in the pit of your stomach.
Fives hooked his fingers again as his mouth found your bud, sucking it between his teeth and teasing it with his tongue. You let out a cry as white began to cloud your vision. You trembled at the edge when, suddenly, Fives pulled his fingers from you.
You wobbled as you let out a wordless cry of protest.
“Please,” You pleaded as you found his eyes again, grinning up at you once more. “Please, Fives.”
He climbed to his feet, chuckling to himself. He pressed a kiss to your nose, an annoying gesture considering how close you had been. When your face twisted into a pout, Fives let out a deep laugh.
“I only want you cumming around my cock tonight, cyare.”
With that, Fives caged you into the stone. He lifted up your leg, hooking it around his hip. Taking himself in his hand, Fives slotted against your entrance. You bit your lip, your frustration forgotten, and you raised your hand to your mouth in anticipation of muffling the pleasure to come.
At the movement, Fives looked up from where your bodies were about to join to your face. He gently pulled the hand you had clasped over your lips from your mouth.
“Don’t hold back.” He gave you a sideways smile before he kissed your palm.
“Fives-” You started to protest.
“No one else is here, mesh’la,” Fives’ voice slipped into the low cantor he got whenever he gave an order. “No vod, no crew, no Jedi, and I want to hear every sound you make.”
Fives reached for your other hand, lifting both arms above your head and pressing them into the stone. The slick, smooth surface on your spine made you shiver again but the warmth of your body quickly won out. The electric feeling stayed though as you felt Fives’ thick head enter you. He let out a long breath as he slowly slid home, opening you up. A hooked, pitched moan left you at the beautiful stretch. Fives’ face fell as he brought his hips flush to yours. He stilled his lower half to let you adjust to his size. For all of his preparations, it was always still a stretch. Foreheads pressed together, you both let out shaky exhales. Fives’ chest heaved as he held himself back. He dropped his head further to pepper kisses along your neck, nipping and licking at the sensitive flesh. His hands flexed against the stone, still holding your wrists in place, every bit of him moving except his hips as he waited for you to be ready.
“Okay, okay.” You finally began to rock your own hips against him. “More, please.”
“Anything for you, cyare.”
His reply was low and stilted control, seeing through every syllable. He began to rock into you, slow and steady, pulling moan after moan out of you with every movement of his hips.
“That’s right, mesh’la. Louder, let me hear you.” The words were jutted and breathy against your neck. “Don’t you dare hold back.”
You didn’t. You let him hear everything he never got to hear. You babbled in throaty wanton tones while his length reached into you and pulled out notes that you didn’t know you could sing. You’d never been able to be with him like this, carefree and all  ot yourself. It was always hushed and hurried. It was only ever quiet kisses and gasps smothered into palms and shoulders as you both tried not to get caught. Now, you could let him hear every ounce of pleasure he pulled from you, every new centimeter he discovered as you opened up to him. He let go of your wrists, wrapping around your back. Your hands fell to his neck, scrambling both for steadiness and to pull him closer as you melted into his arms.
Then, Fives stilled. Before you could wonder, he pulled himself out, lowered your leg, and spun you to face the wall. You threw your hands out to brace yourself on the stone’s surface, moving in tandem with him like you were still on the battlefield. He entered you again, deeper even than before. One hand came to your chest, holding you against him, while the other snaked its way down your center, finding your swollen mound. Every thrust keened you further up into his chest until the line where you ended and Fives began started to blur. Water flowed over him down onto you in a perfect river, winding but endless. His lips found your neck again where he pressed hard, sloppy kisses and murmured words that you could barely hear over your own sinful moans and sobs. Fives took your earlobe into his teeth, biting down as he let out a warm breath. Your whole body began to shake as he pressed rhythmic circles into your center while he fucked you furiously. With a final cry of his name, you came.
Fives’ hips staccatoed as he chased his own high. A warmth  flooded you as he finished, collapsing into your back while still holding you up on weak legs. Quickly he straightened, pulling you up with him, and gathering you into his chest. Soft kisses were bestrewn over your skin. You dazed in his arms as he washed you another time, cleaning your lower half.
You let Fives turn off the shower and wrap you in a lush, white towel before he guided you to bed. Climbing in behind you, he pulled you into his broad chest and wrapped you up in his arms. Your eyes began to flutter as weariness overtook you. You could feel Fives’ breath become rhythmic against your shoulder as you drifted into your own dreams. There, under the loving gaze of the moons, you both found peace.

Last Call for Vodka Update
I’d already been planning an update before this weekend’s Bering and Wells revival sprang up. It was my birthday on Friday so I offer a loose follow up to Chapter 32 for this year’s reminder of getting older. Thanks for reading. Check it all out here.
Got a high tolerance when your age don’t exsist
She’d managed to perfect the look of understanding over the years, even when she didn’t.  Missing the ending of her era and the 20th century altogether meant that she would never fully be versed in the new world. But she was HG Wells after all and there was no way she would not put her best effort forward.
Claudia had been an excellent tutor on many of the current technical advances.  She would never equal the mastery that her young friend had, but her skill was beyond sufficient and she now could gather information unfettered when needed.
Steve and Leena had introduced her into modern philosophies of life, death and everything in between. Buddhism had been found mostly in the Orient during her time, a region that she now wished she had visited more. (But that would have meant trips with Kipling which would have been intolerable.) Steve, with his patience and insights was a wonder.  Leena, with her old world ways mixed with the modern was the other side of the coin. She wouldn’t go so far as to call herself a Wiccan or a Druid but her beliefs coupled with her ability to read auras fell more along those lines than any modern religion.
Arthur, of all people, had been her guide in the classical arts.  He had overheard her humming one of the arias from Schumann’s Genovena one day in the office and inquired about her study of romantic artists of her time. They had taken several trips to Chicago for both the opera and the symphony since that day.  She would never forget the moment they shared in front of A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Seurat. For the first time in a century she cried over who and what she had lost during her time in the bronze.
Pete, with the assistance of Claudia and the supervision of Myka, had nearly overwhelmed her with modern pop culture and sports.  Movies, music, slang, social media-everything he could think of.   She tolerated the brutish sports, like American football and hockey (a favorite of Myka’s) during the fall in exchange for the art of tennis and baseball in the summer.  They had planned two trips to Wimbledon so far that had been dashed by life or death artifact retrievals. But Helena was determined to see the Williams sisters play in person before they retired.
Yes, in many ways and in many areas she’d adapted well to the 21st century.  Helena had the support of the Warehouse team, the guidance of an excellent mental health professional and the love of Myka Bering to see her through.  And for 363 days she would be fine.
The others had learned years ago that discretion was the better part of valor on the anniversary of Christina’s death.  They would be nearby for support but the unpredictable nature of the day was saved for Myka.  At first, Helena had attempted to avoid her love but she would have none of it.
She had tracked her down at local taverns, in the wilderness, even in Minneapolis before Helena relented to spend the day with Myka.
Myka pulled her close at the start of the day, giving her a gentle kiss to the back of her neck.
“What would you like to do today?” she asked softly.
They had spent days in bed. They had gone on long walks. They had hopped in the car and taken impromptu trips.  Once they had even traveled to Paris to visit Christina’s grave.
The other day that would be vexing to both herself and her family was her birthday. Current records showed that Emily Lake was just over 40. The truth was that she was in her mid 150s and despite her good looks, the mother of science fiction could feel every bit of her post sesquicentennial body creak and moan with age.
“I promise you don’t look a day over 105,” Claudia would tease at the start of September.
Pete would leave her lists of things invented in the 20th century that were younger than her.
Steve would volunteer as her inventory companion, allowing her to vent all of her joys and worries as the day of days approached.
And Myka, sweet Myka, would be there much in the same way that she was in June for Christina’s death.
Unfortunately this year she found herself on a task for the Warehouse.  The entire team had called her to wish her a happy birthday. Myka had even promised a special Skype session once the others had gone to bed.
She sat in a bar and sipped her vodka tonic slowly. The television had changed to a sporting event, the playoffs, she’d heard one of her fellow patrons say as they talked loudly about their day.  She turned her chair slightly to look out the window over the city. Night had fallen and the metropolis was aglow with the magic and perils of modern society.  It was her birthday, a triple digit number she had never imagined celebrating.
“Do you remember,” Irene Fredric’s voice broke the silence that surrounded her, “Wolcott’s 31st birthday?”
HG smiled. “I do. It was quite an event. I don’t think I had ever seen him so knackered.”
“I don’t’ think I’ve ever been that knackered.”
HG laughed, remembering the now Caretaker as a young woman, fresh from America experiencing her first days of endless wonder.
“You held yourself well,” HG smiled.  “I would have never known.”
She sighed. “I take it you are here to make sure that I don’t become too sullen at the thought of my age.”
“Agent Bering-Wells might have suggested it.”
“Since when do you take orders from Myka?”
“Well she is about to replace Artie as head Agent.  I supposed it would be okay to concede one small favor.”
“Indeed,” HG pointed at the small tent at the center of the table. “May I suggest the bacon cheese tater tots, they are quite delicious.”

You’re probably reading that title wondering why I use a curl based anything on my head. Well, it’s confession time I have naturally wavy hair that for the last 20 years, I’ve had literally no idea how to tame or flaunt its natural beauty. I can’t use heavy moisturizing shampoos because my scalp is too oily but going without and my ends just dry up and frizz.
Enter DevaCurl, my sister who has kinky curly (aka always fancy) hair has been using this for at least 2 years now. It’s changed her hair routine, from having to use nearly half a bottle of gel to hold her curls to using only DevaCurl products and having soft manageable curls!
My hair on the other hand doesn’t have the same dramatic small curls that she has instead, I have large swooping waves that admittedly I straightened the hell out of in high school, college, and most of my early 20’s. My husband loves my ‘natural’ hair even if I didn’t always. Since moving to California almost 3 years ago, I’ve used little heat and product on my hair and surprisingly didn’t see the health of my hair improve, without the proper products my hair continued to look disheveled.
Then I took the plunge.
Haley walked me through which things I should try and which I should stay away from. I ended up with the Deva Curl Celebrate Wavy Kit which included the Low Poo Delight Shampoo, One Condition Delight Conditioner and the Wave Maker whip (oh and a scarf which I gave to Haley).
When I follow the directions, I end up with the most amazing beauty waves that I honestly thought I’d only get with heat and a hair hardening product like gel. But my waves are soft, and so so pretty. I admit to loving my hair for the first time in my life because of these products.

Now, my magical waves may not be “OMG how did you do that?!” but they make a huge difference to me, I can feel a difference in my hair when I’ve used these products. My hair feels healthy, less frizz, and I want to touch them all day, but don’t do that. Touching is not good for those fragile little waves.
Have you tried DevaCurl? Know someone who should?
I should mention that no one paid for this post, all opinions are my own and totally truthful. I sincerely love & recommend this product, I wouldn’t have written this post otherwise!
By purchasing through the links on my blog I receive a small compensation at no additional cost to you.

QC recognizes community heroes on its 81st Founding Anniversary
#PHinfo: QC recognizes community heroes on its 81st Founding Anniversary
Miss Universe Philippines 2nd Runner-up Michele Theresa Imperial Gumabao (center) was given a special award for starting the Your200Pesos organization under the Hunger No More Foundation as a direct response to the pandemic. Through her organization, more than 6000 families received the Your200Pesos eco pack of basic necessities. More than 5000 frontliners also received meal packs through her partnership with the Rektang Bayanihan program of PNP and other organizations such as FILHINDI, and PLDT-SMART Foundation. CALOOCAN CITY, Nov. 4 (PIA) -- In celebration of its 81st founding anniversary, the Quezon City government recognized the city’s community heroes for their invaluable contribution in the fight against COVID-19.
The Manuel L. Quezon 18th Gawad Parangal were awarded to both individuals and organizations/groups, selected on the basis of their active involvement in helping the city government carry out assistance in any form to the community during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We share the success of our COVID-19 response to those who have been helping us in providing support and assistance to our residents. These awardees have been exemplary as they stood out among their peers to become heroes of their communities,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.
“What matters to the heroes we are honoring today is that every life is worth saving. Ang iba sa kanila, patuloy na itinataya ang buhay araw-araw. Mas nanaig sa kanila ang kagustuhang makatulong sa kanilang komunidad,” Belmonte added.
Among the individual awardees are Jay Angelo Pineda who is the Chieftain of a technology start-up Whiz Philippines Innovations. He initiated an online challenge called #SalamatFrontliners to give back to the country’s frontliners.
Kingspoint Homeowners Association Inc. President Lamberto Nolasco was also recognized for his efforts to transform vacant lots in their subdivision to encourage the poor and the jobless to plant their own vegetables. He also initiated distribution of food packs to nearby subdivisions, disinfection of churches, roads, and open spaces, and provision of assistance to tricycle drivers, and senior citizens.
Three doctors were also recognized as community heroes. Dr. Esperanza Anita Arias of the Quezon City Health Department was regarded for her active service as one of the city’s incident commanders. She also formulated the guidelines on testing, barangay contact tracing, among others, and led the direct coordination with government and non-government organizations for additional resources for the city.
Dr. Susan Jane Celo, a medical officer at the Quezon City Health Department spearheaded the city’s efforts in setting up community-based testing sites, coordination with various stakeholders, and active monitoring and follow-up of patients.
East Avenue Medical Center Sikap Bata Foundation Founder Dr. Hilario John Mangoba is a dedicated pediatrician serving the poorest of the poor patients to at least five hospitals in Quezon City. He is recognized as one of the medical frontliners who went beyond his scope of work to save the lives of others.
Unfortunately, both Dr. Celo and Dr. Mangoba succumbed to the infectious disease.
Meanwhile, five organizations were also among the roster for Gawad Parangal awardees. Bantay Bayan Foundation Inc. Culiat Chapter started conducting roving operations and neighborhood-watch activities in March. They assisted their barangay in implementing curfew hours, distribution of financial assistance from the national and local governments, and the distribution of food packs during the lockdown period.
Triskelion Riders of Quezon City distributed grocery items, initiated a blood-letting program, and extended assistance to jeepney drivers.
The Kingspoint Homeowners Association was also recognized for assisting senior citizens in the 25 neighborhoods of their community in order to avail the city government’s financial assistance. They also extended food packs to 150 poor families.
Other awardees in group photo with Mayor Joy Belmonte and Vice Mayor Gian Sotto.

National Yoga Month!
Spread the love during the National Yoga Month celebration of the practice of yoga and its healing properties during the month of September. And wow, do we ever need it! The challenges in our lives and communities may seem never-ending and overwhelming right now. What better time to delve deeper into your current practice or begin one of you haven’t taken the plunge? But honestly, if you follow my blog, you may already be asking what National Yoga Month and the visual arts have in common? My answer: both inspire, connect and speak to our minds, bodies and souls. Yoga and Visual Art are both a huge part of my RAD Fresh Creative Journey and RAD Fresh Yoga Journey. National Yoga Month is just another opportunity to share inspiration with all of you. My yoga story is probably a lot like yours and not at all unusual, but its connection to the visual arts is one I think you will connect with too.
Most of us begin the journey of a yoga practice somewhat by accident. There is a class at your gym —may as well try it. A friend suggested you try it with her —so you go. Your doctor suggested it for your back issues—sure, why not. It looked like fun. A family member said you needed to learn to relax. And so on and so on. However the magic of discovering yoga does not lie only in beginning or enjoying the physical practice (although that is awesome as well).
Just like in the book by Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic “creativity lies in the relationship between a human being and the mysteries of inspiration.” I believe that place in the heart, the place where the mind and the soul come together to form a bond that leads us to a personal place of grace is where I grow most in yoga. It will take more than one call, one studio or one teacher to hook you. But if you keep practicing, you can find your magic too!

The RAD Fresh Yoga Journey
Asanas: the lifeblood of yoga
Hope, gratitude, healing…
Looking for balance?
Visual journaling and yoga journaling
Beginner’s Mind
History
I have been practicing yoga for well over 23 years now. The first few years were mostly about the physical benefits. I was lucky that my gym, The Women’s Club in Missoula, Montana offered yoga classes as part of their membership. The teachers were awesome, offering multiple levels of classes from Gentle Yoga to Advanced classes. During my first year of practicing, I began to realize that I wanted to know more about the entire practice of yoga —mind, body and soul.
The yoga journey has a beginning, but no end.
After my mom and I attended a yoga retreat with my favorite teacher from the club, I was inspired to grow my practice as I began to feel more deeply connected to myself. It was the beginning of my understanding that the practice of yoga, and the practice of creating art is connected for me. Just like two sides of a coin. One the shiny side of the other. Over time, the two became an integral part of my blog as well.
Off the mat
The practice of yoga has helped me feel more confident off the mat as well. My growing yoga practice has helped me connect more honestly to myself and my art. Off the mat, I have learned to deal more calmly with personal and professional challenges. I have made lasting connections to my yoga community. Nurturing connections through yoga and art, I have found them to be forever intertwined in my work and personal growth. Yoga is more than a workout of course, it is a lifestyle. Over the years, I have developed a home practice to bridge the gaps between classes and my own schedule. The benefits of being able to “take it with me” when I traveled or to practice on my own when studio classes weren’t available was a given.
Community
Built-in friends come with the yoga community. We meet truly inspiring people who are supportive and understanding and legitimately interested in each other as human beings. You can also take your friends with you to yoga and grow within those friendships that already exist. No matter where you are, there are yoga classes to be experienced – even online. You don’t have to know a soul to attend. There is also a universal language of yoga, and I don’t just mean Sanskrit. I mean that when you take your seat, and chant OM with those around you, a sense of unity happens. The room becomes a welcoming place, quietly supporting and holding you in its warmth and grace. The support of fellow yogis and your teacher can become a springboard for more.
For me, yoga began to grow as part of my creative endeavors, inspiring me, helping me to connect with my imagination. For you, it might provide connections for parenting clubs, dinner parties or further education in common interests. The possibilities are endless! So go out there and build a community through your yoga class. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
A more purposeful practice
I have written on this blog many times about yoga. As I expand my own knowledge and practice within yoga, I am beginning to recognize a broader purpose for myself and my blog. By expanding my knowledge and yoga practices through the RAD Fresh Yoga Journey I am growing a following and a deeper understanding of the entire experience. I continue to practice at a local studio, Montana Om, with my friends and our teacher Bonnie Kiser.
paddle board yoga on the water with friends
She has encouraged all of us to reach for more; get out of our comfort zones, and some to even prepare to substitute teach classes. Recently, I was asked to teach SUP yoga! I did and it was so much fun! It was nice to know that my paddle board obsession and my 20+ years of yoga worked together to form an opportunity. Who knew all those years ago that SUP yoga would be a thing?
There’s always more
To gain a sense of “more,” I dedicate myself to a home practice, including journaling. Because I spend lots of hours researching articles and references for the yoga journaling prompts, reading yoga articles has become a favorite online pastime. I am enjoying this process immensely as I expand my yoga knowledge and writing experiences. Adding to my knowledge through additional online class offerings has been fun and easy too. Even if you think that online classes aren’t up your alley – give them a try. Yoga teachers have gotten onboard with the online process and it is SO much better now than ever before.
I guide the yoga journaling practice through weekly prompts. Although still in its infancy, the process is beginning to give me an expanded sense of the possibilities of a more well-rounded practice for myself and others. Researching, journaling and connecting my actual practice to learning and growing within yoga has led me to a range of new experiences and possibilities. I really think that yoga journaling is just the beginning of the next chapter of my yoga journey. Although MORE isn’t always better, MORE is always available. My yoga teacher laughingly reminds us all the time that there is always more. Through her, I have learned that yoga has an eternal flame that is forever growing and changing, morphing into what we need personally. We just have to be open to grace to find it.
National Yoga Month
The benefits of yoga
As we roll into Fall, and we spend more time inside again, I will be adding a lot MORE to my yoga practice and you can too! Try applying what you learn on the mat more consciously to your daily lives. I hope you will consider joining me for yoga journaling to continue to grow your yoga practice in new and inspiring ways. Maybe with a little extra training, reading and researching new opportunities, you can discover MORE too. Check out the health benefits of yoga here in this pdf or read more about the general physical benefits.  There are many ways to celebrate National Yoga Month (or begin yoga) if you haven’t already gotten started. Check out a class in studio or online, read up on the benefits of yoga to your mind, body and soul, or join me for a guided yoga journaling practice to round out your practice.
We are only a third of the way through the month, and so I know you have lots of yoga practices still to be enjoyed. In the meantime, check out the links above and consider inspiring yourself to a happier, healthier, more mindful life through yoga and journaling!
Namaste,
Cindi

The Great American ReadTen years ago, the Academies of the Spanish Language conceived of a Don Quixote for everyone. Now, it is being re-released—in a limited edition—to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Cervantes’s death.2015 and 2016 bring with them two special Cervantes anniversaries. The celebration of the 400th Anniversary of the Publication of the Second Part of Don Quixote in 2015 will be followed in 2016 by the Commemoration of the 400th Anniversary of Miguel de Cervantes’s Death. As they did more than a decade ago, the Academies of the Spanish Language and Alfaguara unite for this celebration with a re-edition of the universal classic directed at the whole Spanish-speaking world. This edition boasts a new prologue written specially for the occasion by Darío Villanueva, the director of the Real Academia de la Lengua Española (RAE) (RAE) and president of the Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Española (ASALE). It is complemented by a glossary made up of seven thousand words, expressions, phrases and proverbs, each explained according to its precise meaning in Cervantes’s text. The first edition of this Quixote became a huge sales success, unprecedented for a classic work. More than three million copies, distributed in Spain and the Americas, made it the most widespread in history. The contextualizing notes about the work, prepared by Francisco Rico, contribute to its educational character and its orientation toward a diverse and non-specialized public. It also includes a series of complementary studies, written by some of the primary experts in Cervantes’s consummate book.As such, Mario Vargas Llosa analyzes the modernity of Don Quixote in “A Novel for the 21st Century;” Francisco Ayala reflects upon the construction of the novel’s characters in “The Invention of the Quixote;” and Martín de Riquer analyzes the work in the biographical context of the author in “Cervantes and Quixote.”For their part, José Manuel Blecua (“Don Quixote in the History of the Spanish Language”), Guillermo Rojo (“Cervantes as a Linguistic Model”), José Antonio Pascual (“The Linguistic Registers of Don Quixote: The Ironic Distance from Reality”), Margit Frenk (“Orality, Writing, Reading”), and Claudio Guillén (“The Course of Cervantes’s novel: Perspectives and Dialogues”) deal with different aspects related to the Spanish language in Cervantes’s work.Joining all this is the current director of the Real Academia de la Lengua Española (RAE), Darío Villanueva, who wants to “take advantage of the golden opportunity that the release of this new edition offers […] to give an explanation—my explanation—of some of the reasons for the high recognition that Don Quixote has gained from the date of its publication until today, as well as its clear modernity,” before reminding us that Don Quixote was the work chosen in 2002 as the best novel of all time, even ahead of In Search of Lost Time by Proust and War and Peace by Tolstoy, in a survey conducted by the Swiss Writers’ Association of 100 authors from around the world. Muslim family
On the day of the celebration, an ordinary Muslim family wakes up very early and then, after the first daily prayer, eats a small amount to mark the end of Ramadan. They then participate in special collective prayers in mosques, large open areas, stadiums or squares just for the occasion.
The prayer is usually short and is followed by a sermon (pole) in which the imam (holy priest) gives advice to the Muslim community and Muslims are usually encouraged to end the previous quarrel.
This is the day of forgiveness
When the local imam announces Eid al-Fitr, everyone congratulates and hugs each other. After the prayers, the worshipers greet each other with peace and love. This is the day of forgiveness, moral victory, friendship, brotherhood and unity. Muslims not only celebrate the end of the fast, but also thank Allah for the help and strength they believe He has given them over the past month. It is about giving and sharing time.
prayers
Muslims offer loud prayers and remember Allah on this festival. Muslims wear new clothes on this day and delicious food is prepared after delicious recipes.
Thank Allah
During these times, Muslims thank Allah for His blessings and mercy, celebrate holy days, and wish each other well. Although appropriate words are welcomed in any language, there are some traditional or common Arabic greetings that anyone can use or come across:
Eid Mubarak
“Happy Eid!” (“Happy Eid!”) * “Happy Eid!” (“Happy Eid!”)
Good wishes
May Allah Almighty bless you and your family always with endless happiness good health and prosperity ameen suma ameen.
Eid end with great joy, good wishes and blessings. The purpose of both festivals is to give thanks to Allah for giving us the strength and courage to work daily. People send SMS and greetings to each other wishing them a happy Eid.

HELLO!!!!
is me again hehe <3
lately, i've been thinking about how Jesse and how his strong devotion and loyalty translates into a relationship. so i was thinkingggggg, a scenario where Jesse needs to be walked of the edge of a heated situation and needs reassurance that he's it for reader. that he's the man reader wants to be with and will stand be his side.
can be either SFW or NSFW (with agender reader with female parts??? that would make me so happy) what ever is sparking your lovely imagination.
so appreciate and love and am grateful i found your beautiful writing and met such an amazing person <3
Tumblr media
Mythos, my dear! Thank you so much for the ask!! I saw your second ask too and I hope I’ve done your beautiful request justice. Jesse is so passionate but that’s exactly what we love about him and the idea of being able to show him that when he was feeling insecure is exactly what he deserves! I completely got carried away with this and ended up writing over 2.5k words (although it’s never enough for Jesse!). I hope you like it! Thank you for celebrating with me, love!
Pairing: Jesse x GN!/Anatomically Female Reader
Warnings: General Creepiness, Threats of Violence, Canon-Typical content, Self-Doubt, Explicit Sexual Content *MINORS DNI*
Tumblr media
You finally made it to the bar on a particularly busy night at 79’s. It was way more work than it should have been for a glass of water, but the dance floor that Jesse had kept you glued to all night was hot, and you were parched.
You could still see him through the crowd. His cog tattoo and shaved head helped him stand out among his identical brothers. That and you’d be able to spot his grin anywhere. He was in his civies tonight, a black t-shirt and his lone pair of jeans. Jesse always looked good, but you enjoyed your current vantage point and took a moment to check out the handsome man. You had only been on dating for a few months. Your friend had been hot and heavy with Fives since the moment she met the goateed clone. It had taken her a few tries to convince you to join them on a double date with one of his brothers who Fives insisted you’d like. You hadn’t been expecting much, not because you didn’t like Fives, but simply because you didn’t imagine someone like him could be your type. Jesse had swept you off your feet, though. You hadn’t admitted it to him yet, but you were falling fast. His endearing charm, constant sarcasm, lighthearted take on life, the passion that burned bright through him, and the kindness and understanding he always showed you made it easy to fall. You watched him move under the neon lights, and you felt a wide smile creep across your face. Jesse always seemed to put that smile there.
So it was Jesse and the lights and the music’s fault that you didn’t notice a crowd of people behind you until one of them stumbled into your back. You spun around, ready to apologize for taking up precious bar space before you realized it was a group of nat-borns. Instantly, your defense went up.
It wasn’t often that other civilians wandered into 79’s, and the ones that did were usually there to cause problems. So as you eyed up the stumbling rough and rowdy group, you didn’t have to go looking to know that they were likely trouble. Unfortunately, as Jesse often liked to remind you, with a deep laugh and elbow to your ribs, trouble usually came looking for you.
“Hey,“ The tallest one slurred as he looked you up and down. “Come here often?”
“Yup.” Your reply was curt, and you hoped they would take the hint when you turned back to face the bar.
Instead, a hand came to your shoulder.
“Hey, I was talking to you.” He was suddenly close, his breath rank and hot on your face as he yanked you towards. “You think you’re too good for us.”
“Don’t touch me.” You took a full step away as you warned him.
“Slummin’ it here with all these test tube freaks.” He closed in on you again. “Let me show you what a real man can do.”
You raised your hands, about to shove him backward, when a familiar arm slid over your shoulder. Despite your guard being up, you instantly knew who was next to you.
“Problem here?”
Your eyes didn’t move from the creep, but you could hear the eternal grin on Jesse’s face. You didn’t mistake the grin for carelessness. Instead, you knew it was just Jesse. He was always calm until he wasn’t.
“Ahh, I see. No problem.” The man stumbled back into his friends before muttering under his breath. “Freak fucker.”
“What did you call them?”
Your head snapped up at the sudden change in tone in Jesse’s voice. He wasn’t grinning anymore. His hand left your shoulder as he began to stiffen at your side. The man didn’t realize his mistake as he kept hurling insults your way.
“They’re just another slut for you meat droids. The Republic needs to end the war so they can take you all out with the trash.”
In split seconds, Jesse lept past you. He swung, his fist connecting with the creep’s jaw, sending him reeling backwards. He threw another jab, catching the man with a blow to the nose before he stumbled out of Jesse’s reach.
Your stomach dropped as one of the friends lunged for Jesse, whose gaze was still on the instigator. But never one to be caught off guard, Jesse side-stepped the second man in the same moment he spun, landing a uppercut into the man’s stomach.
You balled your fists, ready to follow Jesse when another hand came to your shoulder. You cocked a fist back but Kix’s voice found you before you could swing.
“You jump in, you just make it worse for him.”
You huffed in response. Kix wasn’t wrong. You knew Jesse could handle a few nat-borns by himself and he would only be distracted if you started to fight. Still, your fist stayed balled by your side.
In the next moment, a flash of red by the door caught your eye. The Courscant Guard was here. They were always close by on busy nights, keeping the peace however they had to. The three clones positioned themselves by the door. You recognized Thorn by his helmet. He posted himself in the corner, a shiny on either on side of him. You knew he wouldn’t intervene unless he had to, but if Jesse kept at it, Thorn wouldn’t have a choice.
Kix saw Thorn too. He set his jaw and dove into the fray. He emerged with an arm wrapped around Jesse’s waist, tugging the scowling man out of the scuffle. Kix turned, tossing his brother away from the seething nat-borns before he spun around to face them again.
“Get out.” Kix pointed to the door. “Or you’re going to have a lot more meat droids to deal with.”
The instigator snarled through a bloody nose and spit at Kix’s feet. Jesse yelled out and charged for the man again. You turned to face him, stepping into his path and putting your hands on his chest. Jesse looked down at you, his face instantly softening just a bit.
“Jesse - we’re leaving now.” The words were an order but your tone was gentle, hoping you could reach the part of him that had just relaxed under your palms.
He frowned, his eyes quickly back on his target. The men were rapidly retreating out the door, with side-glances thrown at the Guards in red. You felt Jesse twitch, like he wanted to chase after them.
“It’s okay, Jess.” Kix’s voice came from behind you now, calm and quiet. “Just let go it.”
“They’re not worth it.” You lifted one palm to Jesse’s face, laying it on his cheek with just enough pressure to coax him into looking at you. “Please, Jesse.”
His hand came up to your forearm, giving you a gentle squeeze.
“Okay,” The words were breathy as they left his mouth. “Okay, okay. You’re right.”
You lifted to meet his lips, capturing him in a quick, grateful kiss.
He exhaled as you pulled away, breaking the brief kiss. You ran your thumb along his cheekbone, tracing the lower rim of his tattoo. Then your hand fell to find his hand at his side.
“Let’s go home.”
You tugged him towards the exit. As you pulled Jesse out of the club, you threw on glance back to search over his shoulder, quickly finding the familiar eyes of Kix. He tilted his head in question, and you nodded in reassurance. He smiled back and raised his glass in a grateful salute before he turned back to the dancefloor. Jesse followed you to the door in a daze. The adrenaline of the fight had worn off, and he hung almost limp as he drifted behind you.
By the time you got back to your apartment, Jesse was almost catatonic. His lids hung heavy over his eyes as he sank onto the edge of your bed. He hadn’t said a word since you left 79’s. You were starting to get worried. Rather than press him to talk, you went to the kitchen and got a wet washcloth. Returning to find him unmoved in the bedroom, you knelt before him. Coaxing him to take off his shoes, you placed them next to yours at the end of the bed. Then you turned your attention to his bruised knuckles. Taking his calloused hand in yours, you started to dab at the scrapped skin.
“You… you don’t have to do that.” Jesse stuttered as he finally spoke.
“I’m happy to, Jesse.” You tried to smile up at him but his sleepy gaze had turned into a wide eyed stare and it caught you off guard.
“No, I mean you shouldn’t have to do that.” He yanked his hand out of yours.
You barely had time to wonder at his sudden movement before he was up on his feet, pacing across your small bedroom.
“Jesse, talk to me.” You kept your voice gentle, not out of fear but out of caring. You wanted him to know you were there for him.
“You deserve better, you know.”
You frowned but before you could protest, Jesse spoke again, never breaking his relentless stride.
“I’m sorry. I’m just a hothead. All I know is how to fight.” Jesse ran his fingers over his broken knuckles. “You deserve more than that.”
He finally stopped his pacing as he caught his form in the full length mirror that hung on your wall. His frown grew as he studied himself.
“Look at me.” His shoulders slumped and his eyes fell to the floor. “I was bred for this. Bred to be a soldier and that’s all I’ll ever be.”
You quickly clambered to your feet. He didn’t move from his position in front of the mirror. You stood behind him, savoring his closeness for a moment. You wrapped your arms around him at his waist and pulled him in tight to you.
“I love your fire, Jesse. I love that you’re a fighter.”
He let out a single dry laugh. It was so soulless, so unlike Jesse. You held him a little closer.
“Look at you, Jesse.” You settled your head on his shoulder, stretching to peer at your combined reflections. “You want to know what I see?”
He finally raised his head, hesitantly meeting your eyes.
“I see how passionately you care, how you love so strongly that you would go to war for those you care about. Your brothers know that. They love and respect you for that. But that fire isn’t all you are.”
“You can make me smile on the hardest of days. You keep calm in far more situations than you give yourself credit for. You like to pretend you don’t care but I can see how deeply you do.” You dug your fingers into his shirt, gripping his ribs, trying to convey how much you wanted him. “Don’t ever say you’re just a soldier. You’re so much more than that, Jesse.”
Jesse’s eyes were shining as his reflection stared back at you. He took your arm from his waist and tugged you in front of him, his eyes never leaving yours in the mirror. He wrapped his arms around your shoulders folding you into his warmth. You reached up and held onto his arms like he was the only liferaft in the sea. He started to grin again. You leaned your head back into him with a sigh and a smile.
“I’m so lucky to have met you.” Jesse murmured as he kissed the top of your head.
“We’re both lucky.”
You turned your head to lay a gentle kiss on his bicep. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see the smirk on his face widen just a little. He pressed a kiss to your neck. And then another. You tilted your head, giving him more access to your sensitive flesh. One of hands that laid across your chest searched out your pert nipple and began to tease it gently through the rough fabric of your shirt. You leaned back into him with a soft moan, grinding your hips against him, feeling him harden behind you. Jesse’s lips found your ear.
“Oh, cyare,” Jesse’s words were dark and husky. “You don’t know what you do to me.”
His other hand snaked its way down your front, finding the waistline of your pants. Jesse pushed the fabric aside, sinking one knuckle into your already wet center.
“See what you do to me.” You breathlessly muttered. “Jesse, I need you.”
His hands jumped to your waist to find the hem of your shirt. Gentle fingers traced a line up your side, gathering your shirt as he went. Jesse paused at your mid-waist and looked at you. You nodded, giving him permission to proceed. He whipped the top off of you in the next moment. You spun to face him, needy for the feeling of his skin on yours. You tugged at the ends of his shirt, and he quickly obliged. You ran your hands over his chest, savoring the warmth of his skin and the sturdy build of his muscles.
Jesse bent to meet you and quickly captured your lips in his, kissing you deeply. He still tasted like a hint of whiskey. His tongue swirled with yours in a bruising fury and you felt yourself craving more of him. You broke apart for a moment, both turning your attention to your pants. The last bits of clothing was quickly removed and kicked aside.
Jesse spun you around to face the mirror and then pressed his wide palm on the small of your back, coaxing you into bending over. You gave into his directions, bringing a hand to the wall on either side of the mirror. You felt him run his length along your aching slit. You let out a breathy moan as he brushed along your clitoris, your head falling and eyes closing at the glorious friction.
“Oh no, cyare,” Jesse’s back was suddenly pressed against you, and his hand was on your jaw. He guided your head back up so you were staring into his deep brown eyes.
“That’s it,” he nipped at your neck as he stood again, lining himself up. “Let me see those eyes.”
You stared up at him, meeting his dark look in the mirror. His pupils were blown. Jesse stood again, towering over you. You bit your lip as you studied the breathtaking man for the briefest moment.
Then he entered you. His member filled you, reaching your furthest depths at this angle. The ache of being so full was quickly replaced by a overwhelming pleasure as Jesse’s hand snaked its way around you, deftly finding your already sensitive nub again. He teased small circles as he slowly began to move, dragging his cock from you before swiftly entering you again. Soon, his hips pistoned into you and you pushed back off of the wall, meeting him with every stroke. His other hand held your hip on a strong grip. You cried out his name as a wave of orgasm overtook you. Jesse followed behind, filling you as he finished.
You stood up and swayed on weak legs. Jesse quickly gathered you into his chest, showering your shoulders with kisses.
“Thank you.” He whispered against your skin.
“Always.” You sighed, leaning back into him. The next words left your mouth before you even considered them. “I love you, Jesse.”
Your stomach dropped for a moment. You knew you meant it but maybe it was too soon, too early. Before you could take it back, you looked to him in the mirror. His dark brown eyes found your suddenly wide ones and they were bright, all lust replaced with a vast joy. He quickly spun you to face him. Cupping your face in his hands, he tilted you up towards him.
“I love you too.”
His lips captured yours and his hands fell to wrap around your waist. Your heart soared as he squeezed you tighter to him.
“Now come on,” Jesse smirked before he stepped backwards, tuggiing you towards the bed. “I’m not done with you yet.”

A fund-raiser has been started to protect the habitat of a federally listed species in the wetlands of the Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area. April 19 2020 – right before Earth Day Wednesday, April 22  is the cutoff date for this fundraiser should you wish to help out.  Wouldn’t helping out the habitat of a federally listed species be a wonderful means to celebrate Earth Day?

Nick Saunders, and the Saskatoon Nature Society have created Chappell Marsh as a birding hotspot. If you observe any waterfowl, or any birds out at the wetlands, please record on ebird At this time, the more plants and animals which can be observed, recorded, and sent into to the iNaturalist site and onto onto ebird the better it is for the data inventory to value the afforestation areas. So send in pictures of plants and animlas to the Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc or the Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Area Group facebook page.  Another great place for pictures is

There is a strong desire to mitigate illegal motorized trespass and the associated illegal trash dumping which is never good for the environment in an urban regional park or around a wetlands habitat. Installation of vehicle barriers would go a long way for preservation and conservation. There are currently shoreline degradation and deep ruts from motorized vehicles driving around the wetlands when the soil is wet. The fund-raiser is pro-active and preventative in regards to driving into the afforestation areas and around the wetlands with off road vehicles, all terrain vehicles, 4x4s, and motorized vehicles, and the illegal dumping of trash. An outlier case would be extreme mudding in the habitat of the Horned Grebe.

Following the ecological assessment a study can be made regarding eco-classrooms and youth to come on board for further wetlands restoration and learning projects around the wetland shoreline to learn about this unique wetlands habitat which is wonderfully suited to the Horned Grebe. Learning about the Horned Grebe is an empowering class project to protect the habitat of a federally listed species.

“St. Barbe’s unique capacity to pass on his enthusiasm to others. . . Many foresters all over the world found their vocations as a result of hearing ‘The Man of the Trees’ speak. I certainly did, but his impact has been much wider than that. Through his global lecture tours, St. Barbe has made millions of people aware of the importance of trees and forests to our planet.” Allan Grainger

“This generation may either be the last to exist in any semblance of a civilised world or that it will be the first to have the vision, the bearing and the greatness to say, ‘I will have nothing to do with this destruction of life, I will play no part in this devastation of the land, I am determined to live and work for peaceful construction for I am morally responsible for the world of today and the generations of tomorrow.’” Richard St. Barbe Baker
